On Course Tours & Travel (OCT&T) announced new owners who will uphold the traditions of the brand as well as provide a range of new international itineraries through partnerships with key travel providers at an event in Sydney last week.

For the last 35 years, OCT&T has been owned and operated by John and Kerry Dunne, who now move to ‘semi-retirement’ to host guests on a range of tours next year and remain involved behind the scenes.

Speaking at the event, John Dunne introduced the new owners of the business, Indigo and Evan Penn, and thanked their 200 most consistent guests in attendance for their support of the business before Kerry thanked the staff for their ongoing commitment to the brand.

This is a review of our Globus tour

This is a review of our Globus tour: 16 days to Spain, Portual and Morocco in April 2024. Itiniery was good and attractive hence we joined in. Globus tour director, Benjamine was great , knowlegeble, courteous, helpful and kept us motivated and interested with his sense of humor. All the local guides were also great, knowledgeble and courteous. Coachs were comfortable and clean since we all followed strict insturctions to not eat in the coach. Which are some postives of the tour. Globus tour was a bit disappointing in terms of Hotel accommodations. Some hotels were really below average, which was not at the acceptable level, dirty and not even with some basic amineties. Some hotel crew mentioned that with bulk rate negotiated with Goblus, you only get rooms where you have to walk far till the end, smaller rooms and no views and no consideration of guest's age or health. Water bottles were not provided under their current initiative of saving the planet, which we respect. However we all had to buy our own plastic bottles anyways since there was no provision of water to fill in your own reusable bottles. Hence defeated their own initiative. Which was highly disappointing. I would have preferred to use tap water but we were told not to use it as it may not be a good health choice, plus water was not easily available otherwise. The included excursions were sometimes a joke, repeating the same location twice for no appatrent reasons made us do certain things on our own, and incurred addtional costs. Each excursion time was also not alloted appropriately, that is, not enough time given at certain places. Gibraltor visit was one, as an example. I would really study Globus tour carefully before signing up next time. If you can get past the accommodation requirements, overall tour was good. Hope this helps to improve the itinerary to some extent. Thank you!

Very pleased with my recent Globus tour! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable & very friendly. The tour was well organized and we had the opportunity to see lots of great sights. The hotel accommodations were great. Would definitely recommend Globus to other travellers.

Read this before booking a Globus Tour in Italy

I don’t normally complain, but I’ve been mislead by Globus Tours marketing. We are currently on the Northern Italy & Cinque Terra tour. The guides and driver are good and the bus stops at local farms/factories and old town walking tours are nice (even if they make you have your bags ready at 7:30am and rush you through breakfast to get on the bus at 8:15am). The hotels are acceptable nice quality but the location of the hotels is not good. To enjoy old town Italy in each location you have to take a taxi because the hotels they put you in are in not great feeling areas and not easily walkable locations. I believe this is because they want to force you to feel like you have to purchase their dinner excursions. Italy is fabulous and when signing up for this tour I was under the impression the hotels would be in lovely walkable areas in the towns/cities. Boy was I wrong! Please let readers know that what is advertised is not what is delivered. When booking, they ask your preference of hotel (budget or luxury and only share hotels booked weeks before your departure. Turns out their luxury hotels average cost is $125USD a night for double occupancy and are not in great areas.) Our “Cinque Terra” tour does drive us to Cinque Terra one day with the day scheduled and planned by Globus, but the hotel they have us staying in that night is an hour and a half from any of the towns of Cinque Terra (so no free time to have dinner or walk Cinque Terra). That stinks, since it is advertised as the main focus of the tour. I’m so disappointed because I’m traveling with my elderly mother who is fit but who can’t walk 30 minutes each way to dinner. So disappointing her only trip to Italy in her lifetime is with Globus who chose their bottom line margin over booking hotels near the center of the ancient cities for their guests to enjoy the Italian ambiance I was hoping would be easily accessible. Globus has planned the tour to create frustration. (Getting their chosen hotels to organize a taxi is painful and expensive and they don’t have shuttle service and there isn’t enough time to figure out the public transportation.) I had higher hopes.

Vietnam Globus Tour

First and foremost, our tour guide Dinh was outstanding. He knows his stuff, excellent customer service and he made our tour great! He even met us at the airport in Hanoi at 1:00 a.m. to get us to our hotel when we first arrived!! Second, our accommodations (including food and beverage services) were all excellent. Third, our daily excursions/activities were all very good and as promised, and more, in the information we received ahead of time. Fourth, the communications by Globus with us was excellent. Confirmations, Travel Documents, Travel Packet and the app were all really good and very useful for us.

go with the flow

the awesome tour guide made it most wonderful. she was very knowledgeable and had a sense of humor. Things had to change due to circumstances out of anybodys control, everyone was polite and just went with the flow

It was a great trip

It was a great trip. The airport transfers were great. We are very glad we arrived a day ahead of time, which allowed us to adjust to the time difference. We also greatly enjoyed our 2 day extension in Prague. Our tour guide was very nice, and provided historical information during our bus trips. Our bus driver was a gem,and really knew how to navigate the city traffic. We loved that our tour allowed for enough free time to explore on our own. We took advantage of optional tours in each city visited, and enjoyed those. The local guides provided a great orientation to the cities, and provided great historical insights.

Our tour director

Our tour director, Christine was absolutely fabulous. She was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to accommodate everyone. Christine really tried to get to know everyone on the tour, their likes and needs. She frequently shared her own personal experiences. It is obvious that she really enjoys her job and also enjoys working with people. The tour took us to fabulous places and the hotels were located in central areas, allowing us to walk to many points of interest.

Fantastic Journey to Cuba!

It was a very well-planned tour with impeccable precision, experiences, and details. Globus and Cuban guides/directors were superb. Loved the experiences. I did contact Globus after we returned with one problem. At our MKE airport they mandated we give them our immigration papers...said we couldn't fly without the QR code...lady at counter finally gave us the website...Globus needs to prepare people for that.

Highlights of the South Pacific: New Zealand and Australia

We selected this tour based on the itinerary- it hit all the key spots we were interested in seeing . The online Globus portal allowed us to submit all required docs for international travel and gave details on the hotels and event on our tour. Our tour director Leonie was FABULOUS! She was very knowledgeable, funny, and kept us on schedule. She created a WhatsApp group so we could easily communicate with everyone in the group and share photos. Highly recommend Globus tours!

Date of experience : February 01, 2024

Our travel guide Ronan was awesome

Our travel guide Ronan was awesome! Unfortunately we got stuck in New Zealand because of a visa problem and the global emergency line never would get back with us to help. We had to figure out and book our own flights to get caught up with our tour. The tour was five stars long as you didn’t have any problems if you are on your tour and you have an emergency problem, you are definitely on your own never heard back from them.

Globus provided the most amazing service

Globus were absolutely brilliant! Even when things didn’t go to plan (went from two of us travelling to just one) they were really helpful at every step of the way. Whilst on holiday I was given contact details for a local travel company who could help with anything I needed, which was vital in helping me feel safe travelling alone. Their app is amazing, with a day by day guide, as long as other really useful features like temperature, currency exchange, helpful phrases etc. I highly recommend this company and I plan to use them again in the future!

Reply from Globus

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this review, we are delighted that your holiday exceeded expectations. Your very kind comments will be shared with all involved.

This was my second Globus tour

This was my second Globus tour. Michael the tour guide was very knowledgeable, personable and helpful as well as Barry the coach driver, they were both great! Definitely enjoyed this trip. The price was excellent I checked out several tour companies and Globus had the best deals. Booked another trip in November to Ireland. I would definitely recommend Globus Tours.

We had the most wonderful tour…

We had the most wonderful tour guide/tour director, Robert Marks. He knew so many things and treated us with great respect. We would recommend Globus just based on Robert. In addition we had great accommodations and a small (6 people) group of congenial people.

Marvelous Egypt

In February, my husband and I visited Egypt 🇪🇬 for two weeks, staying at five-star hotels. I cried due to seeing great temples of history such as Karnak, Luxor, pyramids of Giza, catacombs at Alexandria, sarcophagus of famous pharaohs, Egyptian museum (relics, art, chariots, masks, tombs, etc. from 3,000 years ago), Aswan, additional pyramids, Lake Nasser, a Nubian village, the Valley of the Dead, Tutankhamen’s mummy and treasures, hieroglyphs, place where Moses was supposedly plucked out of the Nile river, and so much more. This trip exceeded my wildest expectations. It’s one of the best ever and I have recommended it to my friends. The Egyptian people are friendly, helpful and we felt safe. Our tour director was so knowledgeable and helpful too. Wish I could go again.

Beautiful Spain

I really enjoyed all the beautiful places we went and the amazing hotels. Our guide, Jose, was spectacular, and always shared with the group, historical facts about the places we were visiting. The food was very delicious, though I was hoping for some Paella and succulent pig.

Date of experience : March 01, 2024

Ireland is Great

Recently, toured with Globus on the Irish Escape. My sister and I had a ball. The tour was very organized as always. The Republic of Ireland was welcoming. The people were nice and helpful. We used the public Tran in Dublin and found the people to be hospitable and kind. I would definitely go back. Our guide, Julian, was the perfect host and guide. He was able to to enhance our tour with his vast knowledge.

Date of experience : February 25, 2024

The Spanish escape was excellent

The Spanish escape was excellent. Loved all the places we visited and our tour director, Benjamin, made it so much fun while also being informative. We lucked up with excellent weather which made all the sightseeing easier. Will definitely use Globus again.

Globus has been disappointed from the…

Globus has been disappointed from the beginning to the end. I will never use this travel company in future. First, they were so unorganized. Yes, unforseen situation happens but I would expect more from a professional travel company. The Paris globus representative, Molly who doesn't greet people with a smile, but with a snobby and arrogant attitude. I asked about the ticket valid date because it said Oct 2023. She said "honey, we wouldn't give you an invalid ticket." 1. My name isn't honey. 2. What the heck with her tone? Of course, I can't read French and that's why I asked. You are there to explain things. But apparently, she doesn't seem to like her job to help people. When we transferred from Paris to London, I could write a whole page of what went wrong. We got there early but they put us aside and made us wait for 30 mins. And of course they were double booked the seats. It was a huge mess to figure out where to seat because my seat was occupied by someone else already. When we arrived in London, our representative didn't bring a roster. She kept saying there were supposed to be 22 people but she only counted 19. We literally waited an hour until she figured out what to do with us. That was a waste of time. Also, when we checked into London hotel, some of us were in a different floor. I was only single person who was on 2nd floor. Everyone else was on the premium floor - 6th floor. I paid the same amount for the less service. I'm just so annoyed how everything went using globus as our travel agent. I'll never ever use them again.

Date of experience : April 17, 2024

Everything was great as always with…

Everything was great as always with Globus. The only thing I would say is that it should offer a vegan or vegetarian selection, and of course a diabetic selection. The tour guide was great and accommodated everyone with these issues, but as she did not get notice ahead of time it just adds stress. To the people with the issues. And it’s something that should be told to the tour guide before she has to deal with it last minute or he.

This company cares.

All On-the-Go-Tours employees we've met were courteous and genuinely nice. I think this company tries hard and wants to build an excellent reputation in the market, we felt it every step of the way. Our guide Omar speaks many languages, although I'm an Arabic speaker myself I could not understand Moroccan "Darija" so I had a lot of fun speaking to him in classical Arabic "Fos-ha" which he spoke fluently. My wife who prefers English had no problem communicating with him. Omar deserves to be an ambassador for his country, he sold us Morrocco very well making us wanting to be back. Omar's knowledge of languages, culture, history and biology is amazing.

Memorable Japan

Japan, what a country and the Japanese are so respectful, helpful and kind. ‘Our world’ could learn from it. The trip went very well, well organised and under the fantastic guidance of Mashira, our tour guide for the Tokyo to Takayama trip. He went out of his way all the time to answer questions, explain the sites, their history and much more. He also guided us seamlessly through the efficient national network of transport. The hotels were all well positioned within the cities and at Lake Kawaguchi, from which we had an excellent view of Mount Fuji. Having Takayama in your program can be recommended, as it gives another impression of (rural) Japan, after you have visited the (busy) cities. Every part of the program worked, leaving some free time. Some of the food was included, but on those days when it wasn’t, there was so much choice and shops near to the hotels and with good value for money in many cases. And, we had a bit of the cherry blossom. Thank you for the most enjoyable time and memorable trip.

Communication before the tour was just sufficient, excellent, organised and clear. As we arrived into Morocco everything was delivered smoothly and as promised/ advertised, including pick up, tour, hotel, meals. Our tour guide Omar was exceptional, one of a kind.

Enchanting Morocco

As a traveler, I take in both good and bad. Overall, the experience was excellent. The destinations were worth seeing, accommodations were okay, the tajine chicken with prunes in Fes was my most favorite Moroccan meal, and the minivan was clean and comfortable. Our guide Omar was simply the best. He happens to be a great singer as well. Mustafa was a safe and excellent driver.

Excellent tour guide

I recently visited Morocco as part of a group tour, and I must say, it was a remarkable experience. Our tour guide, Omar was an absolute gem and made the Morocco journey unforgettable. Omar's extensive knowledge of the country, its history, and its culture was impressive. He answered every question we had, no matter how small or random. His passion and enthusiasm were contagious, and he made every stop fascinating. Moreover, Omar's friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality made us feel like we were traveling with an old friend. He was always willing to extend the extra mile. This was whether it was helping us navigate bustling markets or providing local tips for the finest restaurants and cafes. His genuine care and concern for our well-being made the trip more enjoyable. Overall, my experience in Morocco with our excellent tour guide, Omar, was exceptional. His expertise, adaptability, and genuine care made the trip truly unforgettable. I would wholeheartedly recommend Omar to anyone planning a visit to Morocco.

Marvelous 🇲🇦 Morocco

We had an absolutely fabulous experience! We were on the Morocco imperial tour. Our Tour Guide, Omar El Ghaly, was the absolute best guy we’ve ever ever had. He is so knowledgeable about the culture in history. He was so kind and cared so much about each of us. He’s even helping me find some pottery pieces after I return home from my trip. I would honestly take this exact trip again.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your time with us!

Our Magical Morocco trip was a Once in a Lifetime Adventure

Our Magical Morocco trip was incredible! Omar was a wonderful guide, who shared so much historical, cultural and geographical information. His friendliness, sense of humour, kindness and organization made this a once in a lifetime adventure. Our driver Daoud was also wonderful and by the time we finished our private tour, they both felt like family to us. The tour itself encompassed everything we could hope to cover in Morocco. The mosques, kasbahs, souks, national parks, Sahara desert (camel trek and overnight was a bucket list item, and still fills my heart). Through it all, Omar kept everything running smoothly. There is so much to explore in Morocco! The accommodations were comfortable and we felt at home in each one. We loved staying in the riads. Thank you Omar and Daoud, for showing us your beautiful country!

The whole tour was fantastically though out. We stayed in a selection of different accommodations which gave a true Moroccan experience. What an amazing diverse country, we saw and learnt so much. Our guide Jamal was very supportive and funny and the driver really good. I really recommended this tour!

King Ramses with cruise

Where do I start! I booked with On the Go Tours through my travel agent after seeing this tour on a VLOG. Before we even left, the company was very helpful when I had to call them for some help in filling in my eVisa for Egypt. As for the tour, I was happy with every aspect. We felt that 13 days was perfect and the pace of the tour was good. We covered all the major tourist sites and the amount of free time at the sites was always a group consensus. What made this tour so enjoyable was our tour guide Medo. What an amazing person Medo is and an absolute credit to OTGT. His interpersonal skills were excellent, his knowledge was second to none and always delivered with passion. Our group was small at around 11 people, so we bonded quickly and became like a travelling family! This is my first experience with a tour company, as most of my travel is done independently and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Having a tour like this where everything is organised for you, just leaves you with more time to just sit back and enjoy it all stress free. Well done OTGT and to Medo, who is an absolute credit to your company.

Omar our tour guide in Morocco has been fantastic. He is always keen to help out and offer advice of the best places to go in each city. He suggests a range of options to eat or tour and is very helpful with translating and communicating with the locals. We are halfway through our tour of Morocco and very much enjoying the trip. The highlight so far I think is Chefchaouen. The Blue City is beautiful.

5 day Northern Lights tour in Iceland

My husband and I traveled to Iceland in the beginning of March and were on the 5 day Northern Lights tour with On the Go Travel. We were extremely pleased with our tour guide who was very efficient and knowledgable as we traveled by luxury coach bus along the southwest boarder of Iceland and inland on the Golden Circle. We toured the city of Reykjavik, saw many spectacular waterfalls, hiked on a glacier, met the famous Icelandic horses, and toured a tomato greenhouse. Hotel rooms were clean and the continental breakfast offered was very good and plentiful. This was a wonderful trip that I would highly recommend. We even witnessed the Northern Lights on our last night in Iceland. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Bad experience. Would not recommend

We did the Norway Fjords and Charms 8 day tour with Helena (tour guide). Unfortunately, she was disorganized and incompetent and didn’t know anything about Norway. She made us eat in gas stations most of the trip and would tell us about all of the sites that were cool but that we couldn’t see because it would be closed by the time we arrived. I’ll never use this company again because of her. The bus driver (Tomash) was wonderful and the accommodations were good.

We are sincerely sorry to note your disappointment and have passed your feedback to our country manager for review.

Our 5 day Northern Lights Tour was…

Our 5 day Northern Lights Tour was amazing - well organized, saw many sights in a short amount of time - and our tour guide, Thora, was fantastic. She was animated, energetic, well-educated in local lore and the flora and fauna of the area, also gave good advice and recommendations throughout our tour. The hotels on the tour were comfortable and clean and the breakfasts they provided at them were delicious and abundant in choices! We saw all the major sights in the SW part of Iceland and also managed to see the Northern Lights on our last night (and locals said it was the best they had seen all season) We would definitely use On The Go again!

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay!

Service of guide unacceptable

Service of guide unacceptable. Our guide for ther Egypt part of the tour- Amir-knew of a special request we had lodged re the Nile Cruise, it was not actioned or followed thru. He did nothing, we fixed the issue ourselves. The night tour of the temple of Luxor was recommended by him it was over priced and overrated, with the food at the restaurant recommended by him terrible. He then committed the worst sin of a guide- leaving behind two passengers on the bus at the Valley of the Kings site. His Egypt knowledge was ok, his guiding skills were less than acceptable.0

Date of experience : 29 September 2023

We are sincerely sorry to note your continued disappointment in our services and have passed your feedback to our country manager for review. Amir has been a valued member of our team for many years and continues to go above and beyond for our valued customers so we are saddened that your own experience was in such stark contrast.

You probably need to be an avid runner, people person, with knowledge of or interest in local history, to operate a running tour. Sam possesses all three traits. I enjoyed my Central Park tour. I was the only client on the particular Saturday morning. I would recommend him. I'll probably do another event sometime when I am in the city. In terms of running, he customized the pace for me. We ran at what I'd estimate to be a 10 to 10:30 per mile rate, with a half dozen stops to look at sights, and two stints where we walked a bit. It was easy enough for him to continue talking the whole time. It was probably right in the zone I would pick if I were disciplined enough to go out there solo. He seemed easygoing, and I'd bet he'd adjust for a group. As for being a people person, I'd say he is one of those folks who is very easy to get along with. He makes an excellent first impression as a friendly guy to spend an hour with. Whatever he is like in his private life, he comes across as low-maintenance, with a sense of humor. In terms of the background, it was just enough for this style of tour. He told me about how Central Park was started, what New York was like back in the day, and some of the surrounding landmarks, e.g., the Dakota co-op where John Lennon lived -- we could see where he was shot, and we also spent a minute at the Imagine memorial in what was named Strawberry Fields in his honor. It wasn't too much though; sort of pitched at the high school lecture level. I'm going to guess if you are under thirty, you won't be quite as much into it, since the cultural references are not keyed to a generation older (which I am). There is a rival running tour outfit in Manhattan. I took a tour with them two weeks earlier. I would say they are comparable. I'd pick based on convenience of the timing and the primary sight to see. This is essentially a one man business. I recommend highly.

Epson Tour’s Circling Raven Championship runs its course after three years

Yue Ren reacts after winning the Epson Tour’s Circling Raven Championship last August on the second playoff hole against Chanettee Wannasaen. (By Kathy Plonka/The Spokesman-Review)

The Circling Raven Championship is no longer on the Epson Tour schedule after a three-year run at Circling Raven Golf Club.

The original three-year contract between the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, which operates the award-winning course in Worley, and the Epson Tour, the LPGA’s developmental tour, expired after the 2023 tournament last August.

“Yes, basically,” Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel CEO Laura Penney said, when asked if it was a business decision not to continue hosting the tournament. “We pursued the Symetra Tour (renamed the Epson Tour in 2022), it was a great group of ladies and they are a fine representation of the game of golf.

“We wanted to get recognition, kind of revitalize our name and put us on the map, and we also wanted to support the ladies. And we did that. We did that with the program, so I think it kind of ran its course and it did well.”

The 54-hole tournament brought high-level players, including numerous former and current LPGA members, to the scenic course.

“I caddied for a year when it was the Nike Tour back in 1991, so I know how good (the Epson Tour) is,” Circling Raven director of golf Chris Runyan said. “To have them out here was just amazing.”

Peiyun Chien, who won the inaugural Circling Raven Championship in 2021, had five top-10 LPGA finishes in 2023 and boasts nearly $1.5 million in career earnings. Lilia Vu, who tied for 12th in 2021, won two majors in 2023, climbed to No. 1 in the world rankings and was named the LPGA Tour Player of the Year. Bailey Tardy, who tied for third in the 2021 CRC, won the Blue Bay LPGA tournament last month.

Chanettee Wannasaen, 19, who lost to Yue Ren in a playoff last August at Circling Raven, won the Portland Classic the following week, becoming the first Monday qualifier to win on the LPGA Tour since 2015. Alexa Pano, who finished third in 2022 at age 18 behind champion Jillian Hollis, won the ISPS Handa World Invitational and had five straight top-25 finishes as an LPGA rookie in 2023.

“They’re just fine athletes,” Penney said. “Just to watch them tee off was amazing. And the pro-ams, to play with them side by side, it improved my game (by) a couple of strokes.”

Players raved about the quality course conditions and the hotel nearby. Fan attendance was somewhat limited by the spacious course layout over 620 acres, distance between holes and numerous environmentally protected areas.

“It’s awesome,” said Tardy, shortly after finishing her final round at the 2021 event. “Being able to stay next to the golf course, I personally really enjoy it. It really feels like we’re at a resort because you wake up and don’t have to get in a car to come here. You can just walk on over.

“The course is in unbelievable shape. I feel like each week, tournament sites are stepping up their game and we’re playing even better-conditioned (courses), but the greens out here, the fairways, everything is just immaculate.”

The inaugural Circling Raven Championship in 2020 was delayed a year due to the COVID pandemic.

“We all enjoyed the tournaments,” Penney said, “and it was great to bring it to the Northwest.”

The State Department Kept His Proposal on Course

Ben Krauss flew to Athens to propose to Shana Mansbach, with the help of her State Department colleagues, on the last stop of a European tour.

A groom embraces a bride from behind. They are standing in front of Blue Hill At Stone Barns.

By Rosalie R. Radomsky

It never bothered Benjamin Andrew Krauss in the slightest if Shana Gabrielle Mansbach took a call from Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, while they were out to dinner, and then ran off to draft a letter or a speech.

“That happened not infrequently,” said Mr. Krauss, 40, who knew the situation all too well. “This is the nature of what we do.”

The two Washington speechwriters had never met or heard of each other before connecting on the Hinge dating app in July 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“He was in his bubble, I was in mine,” said Ms. Mansbach, 31. “He has done amazing work mainly in the campaign space. I do government stuff.”

Until 2022, Ms. Mansbach had worked as the senior communications adviser and director of speechwriting for Ms. Pelosi. She is now a speechwriter and a senior adviser to Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.

“We were mutually intrigued,” said Ms. Mansbach, who graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in politics, philosophy and economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Krauss, who has a bachelor’s degree in government from Dartmouth, is the chief executive of Fenway, a speechwriting and communications firm in Washington. In 2018, he was the chief political speechwriter for Joseph R. Biden Jr. Additionally, he has served as a speechwriter for the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Mr. Biden.

“I knew we would hit it off, and start dating,” Ms. Mansbach said. As they messaged and texted each other, Ms. Mansbach ultimately decided that it was best to keep her distance for the time being. After a five-year relationship ended in May 2020, she was in no rush to jump into another.

“She was very engaging, then she would temporarily vanish,” said Mr. Krauss, who patiently waited two months for their first date.

In September 2020, she rode a Capital Bikeshare bicycle to his condominium in Northeast Washington. After he greeted her with a big hug, they had cocktails on the roof of his rowhouse.

For the next six hours, they were never at a loss for words, but they paused long enough at the end of the evening for a kiss.

“It was a very good first kiss,” she said, and as she predicted they started seeing each other regularly.

A week later, she returned for his specialty “eggplant à la Ben,” she said, or eggplant Parmesan. “The house smelled wonderful.”

He loved cooking and prepared Eastern European dishes for her, like stuffed cabbage and borscht with sour cream. Ms. Mansbach, who grew up in Columbia, Md., made crab cakes and potato salad.

They took day trips around Washington, and in November he came up with something way more exotic: a weeklong trip to Bora Bora.

After some hesitation, and consultation with friends and family, she agreed to go in December.

“I’d wake up at 4 in the morning, and sit outside and watch the sun come up,” she said, recalling her time working remotely.

In May 2021, during a 10-day trip, they drove across Georgia (the country, not the state), where he had been for his first consulting job at a firm doing opinion research for its president, Mikheil Saakashvili, and they also stopped in eastern Kyiv in Ukraine.

In spring 2022, they adopted Sasha, a foxhound rescue, and that July Ms. Mansbach moved into his condo. “Any bit of uncertainty evaporated,” she said.

Mr. Krauss supported her as she geared up for her first marathon, and on the day of the race, in Philadelphia, he sprinted around the city with her friends and family to cheer her on.

“It was in the 20s that day, with 50-mile-an-hour gusts,” she said.

When they visited Mr. Krauss’s parents in Katonah, N.Y., in January 2023, they found the perfect wedding venue 20 minutes away, Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, N.Y., and booked it before their engagement.

In February 2023, keeping very much in character, he took off on a secret mission to Athens — his proposal.

“Her colleagues helped in the subterfuge,” he said, and with their help, he caught up with her in Athens at the end of a weeklong European State Department tour.

A colleague had called to tell Ms. Mansbach, who was about to go to sleep, that Mr. Blinken was about to toast staffers on the roof of their hotel — Hotel Grande Bretagne, which had a view of the Parthenon. So she went up there.

Instead, only Mr. Krauss was waiting for her and got down on one knee.

“I did not prepare a speech,” he said, and spoke from the heart.

They took “the long way home,” he said, celebrating in Berlin at a concert featuring her favorite violinist, Joshua Bell, and the next evening with dinner in Paris.

On April 13, Cantor Laura Stein officiated at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, before 150 guests while the couple stood under a huppah with the same tallit her parents were married under.

“We know we’re headed into what promises to be a busy year,” Mr. Krauss said, “and we’re just glad to have each other.”

Neil Young and Crazy Horse scaled heights of ragged glory in transcendent Phoenix concert

on course tours reviews

Neil Young didn't waste any time getting into the epic guitar jams Saturday, April 27, at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre, taking the stage with Crazy Horse to set the tone for his first Phoenix concert since 2003 with the fuzz-guitar transcendence of "Cortez the Killer," a speaker-shredding meditation that made it past the 15-minute mark, just long enough to leave you wishing it had gone another 15 minutes.

They were six minutes deep before the singing started. And they dusted off the missing verse Young recently unearthed that didn't make it onto "Zuma" because the console in the studio lost power in the midst of recording an otherwise perfect take.

“I floated on the water,” Young sang nearly 50 years later in Phoenix. “I ate that ocean wave/ Two weeks after the slaughter/ I was living in a cave/ Came too late to get me/ There’s no one here to set me free/ From this rocky grave/ To that snow-capped ocean wave.”

Neil Young and Crazy Horse treat Phoenix to elevating guitar jams

It was a glorious start to a brilliant performance, from the cavernous majesty of his guitar tone to the weathered ache of his lead vocal as the members of Crazy Horse effortlessly lived up to the reputation that led him to title a 1990 album "Ragged Glory," played out in front of the oversized fake Fender amps and road cases they used on the Rust Never Sleeps Tour in the '70s.

This is Young's first major tour with Crazy Horse in 10 years and they're only three shows in, so we may have lucked into a concert that was even looser-limbed than usual. Songs were falling together like magic in slow pursuit of something more elusive than perfection.

It's been 55 years since Young and Crazy Horse spent two weeks in the studio bottling lightning on "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere," a masterpiece that featured heavily in Saturday's performance, from the proto-punk riffing of "Cinnamon Girl" to a sprawling rendition of "Down By the River," "The Losing End (When You're On)" and the country-rocking title track.

It's actually kind of amazing that two of the three original members of Crazy Horse — bassist Billy Talbot and drummer Ralph Molina — are still out there touring with Young after 55 years. They're joined by Micah Nelson, Willie's son, on this tour. The 33-year-old is filling in on guitar for Nils Lofgren, who couldn't do this tour because of a previous commitment with the E Street Band.

But more on Lofgren later.

Nelson previously toured with Young as a member of Promise of the Real.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse haven't lost their magic after 55 years

To look at Young and his two fellow travelers from the early days, you'd clearly know they've aged a year or two since 1969. To hear them? Not so much. It didn't sound much different than the tours I saw Crazy Horse do in the '90s. It rocked with that same urgency and passion (and distortion).

Young has never been the world's flashiest guitarist but he gets more magic out of one note than most guitar heroes can pack into 20 or 30 notes in half the time, arriving at a sound that's his and his alone.

As a singer, his vocals have rarely been flawless, but they've always done exactly what the songs require with raw emotion to spare, and that remained the case Saturday in Phoenix, where the 78-year-old Young sounded great.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse 2024 setlist: Every song they played at Phoenix concert

Neil Young's set went heavy on classics, from 'Powderfinger' to 'Cortez'

The set went heavy on the classics, from those already mentioned to "Don't Cry No Tears" and "Powderfinger."

After "Love and Only Love," the only song they played from "Ragged Glory," Young sent his bandmates away for a three-song mini-set on acoustic guitar and harmonica, including “Comes a Time” and “Heart of Gold."

Then his bandmates returned to bring the set to a cacophonous conclusion with the speaker-bleeding majesty of “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)," Young defiantly insisting "Rock and roll will never die" while illustrating why that is before returning for a one-song encore, "Danger Bird," with guest piano by Lofgren, who lives in the Valley and was home on a break in touring with the E Street Band.

By that point, it was everything you could've hoped for from an artist who's been touring since the '60s, playing to the strength that made him such a legend in the first place.

The newest song they played was “Scattered (Let’s Think About Livin’)” from 1996’s "Broken Arrow," prefaced by a heartfelt tribute to producer David Briggs, who worked with Young on countless classic albums before his death in 1995.

It was as close to a greatest hits tour as you'll likely see from Young but because he kept it so unpolished and spontaneous, it felt as fresh as those songs would've felt at any point in Young's career, even a warhorse as frequently featured as "Cinnamon Girl" or "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)."

It was everything a Young fan could've hoped for when the tour was first announced and then some.

Young and Reverend Billy & the Stop Shopping Choir deliver Love Earth gospel

After the second song, "Cinnamon Girl," Young took a moment to address the fans.

"This is the part of the show where I stand here at the front and figure out what to say for just a minute or two," he said before leading the crowd in a call-and-response of "What's your favorite planet?" "Earth!"

Then, when the applause died down, he added, "I want my grandchildren's grandchildren to have this so they can go way out in the forest and walk around, way out in the fields and walk around. That's what I want them to see. We've gotta be here."

This is the Love Earth Tour, a sentiment at the heart of the opening set by Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir, a performance art ensemble whose surreal performance found the Reverend, dressed in a white suit, preaching an anti-war, pro-environment gospel.

"We're here to talk to you about the Earth!" the Reverend shouted. "We've got some high stakes here this evening. Couldn't be higher. It's about life! Saving life! Loving life! Being strange enough to change enough to find a way to live!"

PGA Tour Event Disrupted by Alligator Casually Walking Across Tee Box

  • Author: Madison Williams

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is used to having a special four-legged friend show up from time. to time on the course.

The guest, an alligator, halted play at the 17th hole during Thursday's first round. The groups of Bronson Burgoon and Jhonattan Vegas, along with Paul Barjon and Samuel Stevens, had to wait at the tee box for the alligator to cross in front of them before they could tee off. The animal didn't stop them from taking a few practice swings, though.

This isn't the first time an alligator has showed up at the Zurich Classic. The PGA Tour commentators reminded viewers that the tournament was used to a three-legged alligator gracing the course fittingly named "Tripod."

Now on the tee, from New Orleans, Louisiana ... A GATOR 🐊 pic.twitter.com/N8wEJh1pQ1 — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) April 25, 2024

The alligator walked across the tee box without causing any issues with any golfers or fans. But it definitely took its sweet time to walk across.

Both golfing duos ended up paring the 17th hole despite the distraction.

Bon Jovi docuseries 'Thank You, Goodnight' is an argument for respect

Hulu's docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story , spends a lot of time building up the Bon Jovi legend — exploring the band's almost unbelievable 40-plus-year run from playing hardscrabble rock clubs in New Jersey to earning platinum albums and entry into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

But what moved me most in the four-part series was something more revealing: its close look at the struggle by lead singer Jon Bon Jovi to overcome vocal problems which nearly led him to quit the band.

Footage of the singer croaking through vocal exercises, undergoing laser treatments, enduring acupuncture and finally turning to surgery is sprinkled throughout the series, which toggles back and forth between his problems in 2022 and a chronological story of the band's triumphs and tragedies from its earliest days.

Refusing to be Fat Elvis

Through it all, a question hangs: Will Bon Jovi ever recover enough vocal strength to lead a 40th anniversary tour?

"If I can't be the very best I can be, I'm out," he tells the cameras, still looking a bit boyish despite his voluminous gray hair at age 62. "I'm not here to drag down the legacy, I'm not here for the 'Where are they now?' tour ... I'm not ever gonna be the Fat Elvis ... That ain't happening."

Filmmaker Gotham Chopra — who has also directed docuseries about his father, spiritualist Deepak Chopra, and star quarterback Tom Brady — digs deeply into the band's history, aided by boatloads of pictures, video footage and early recordings provided by the group.

Chopra gets folks from the group's tight inner circle to speak up, including former manager Doc McGhee and guitarist Richie Sambora, who quit the band in 2013. ("Are we telling the truth, or are we going to lie, what are we going to do?" Sambora cracks to his offscreen interviewer. "Let's figure it out.")

But anyone expecting gossipy dish will walk away disappointed. Even major scandals in the band's history are handled with care, including the firing of founding bassist Alec John Such in 1994 (and the admission that his replacement, Hugh McDonald, already had been secretly playing bass parts on their albums for years), drummer Tico Torres' stint in addiction treatment and Sambora's decision to quit midway through a tour in 2013, with no notice to bandmates he had performed alongside for 30 years.

Sambora's explanation: When issues with substance use and family problems led him to miss recording sessions, Bon Jovi got producer John Shanks to play more guitar on their 2013 record What About Now . And Sambora was hurt.

"[Bon Jovi] had the whole thing kinda planned out," Sambora says, "which basically was telling me, um, 'I can do it without you.'"

Building a band on rock anthems

The docuseries shows how young New Jersey native John Bongiovi turned a job as a gofer at legendary recording studio The Power Station – owned by a cousin — into a recording of his first hit in the early 1980s, Runaway . His song eventually caught the ear of another little-known artist from New Jersey called Bruce Springsteen.

"The first demo I got of Jon's was a good song," says Springsteen, a longtime friend of Bon Jovi. "I mean, Jon's great talent is these big, powerful pop rock choruses that just demand to be sung by, you know, 20,000 people in an arena."

Rock Star Jon Bon Jovi Comes Full 'Circle'

Music Interviews

Rock star jon bon jovi comes full 'circle'.

Thank You, Goodnight shows the band really took off by honing those rock anthems with songwriter Desmond Child, while simultaneously developing videos that showcased their status as a fun, rollicking live band. Hits like You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer and Wanted: Dead or Alive made them MTV darlings and rock superstars.

Through it all, the singer and bandleader is shown as the group's visionary and spark plug, open about how strategically he pushed the band to write hit songs and positioned them for commercial success.

"It wasn't as though I woke up one morning and was the best singer in the school, or on the block, or in my house," he tells the camera, laughing. "I just had a desire and a work ethic that was always the driving force."

I saw that dynamic up close in the mid-1990s when I worked as a music critic in New Jersey, spending time with Jon Bon Jovi and the band. Back then, his mother ran the group's fan club and was always trying to convince the local rock critic to write about her superstar son – I was fascinated by how the band shrugged off criticisms of being uncool and survived changing musical trends, led by a frontman who worked hard to stay grounded.

Bon Jovi was always gracious and willing to talk; he even introduced me to then-New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman at one of his legendary Christmas charity concerts. (And in a crazy coincidence, the band's backup singer Everett Bradley is an old friend from college.)

I think the docuseries captures Bon Jovi's skill at leading the group through challenges musical and otherwise — from metal's slow fade off the pop charts to the rise of grunge rock — something the singer rarely gets credit for achieving.

Still, much of Thank You, Goodnight feels like an extended celebration of the band and its charismatic frontman, leavened by his earnest effort to regain control of his voice. If you're not a Bon Jovi fan, four episodes of this story may feel like a bit much (I'd recommend at least watching the first and last episodes.)

More than anything, the docuseries feels like an extended argument for something Bon Jovi has struggled to achieve, even amid million selling records and top-grossing concert tours – respect as a legendary rock band.

The audio and digital versions of this story were edited by Jennifer Vanasco .

Review: hip-hop star nicki minaj turns target center pink in overdue return to minnesota.

Good context for how overdue Nicki Minaj's concert was Saturday night at Target Center: The last time the hip-hop queen performed in the Twin Cities was 13 years ago as the opening act for Britney Spears.

While Spears has endured well-publicized ups and downs since that poorly attended Xcel Energy Center show in 2011, Minaj has mostly had only ups in her career.

She has been one of the top-selling artists in pop music of the past decade, racking up three No. 1 albums (the most ever by a female rapper) and 23 top-10 singles (same). Her success — and her feminine and LGBTQ icon status, too — rocketed further last year via her smash-hit "Barbie World" single with Ice Spice from the "Barbie" movie soundtrack.

Saturday's nearly sold-out crowd of about 16,000 fans came dressed for the occasion in a sea of pink outfits, including many men. It wasn't because of Barbie, though. Minaj has been pinkifying the world since her 2010 breakout album, "Pink Friday," a success she flashed back to in the title of her tour and latest album "Pink Friday 2."

Some of those fans — especially the ones who hired babysitters — may have been seeing red by the time Minaj finally took the stage. She didn't go on until 10:10 p.m., more than two hours after the advertised start time with only a DJ filling the gap.

Her scheduled opener, "The Boy Is Mine" co-vocalist Monica actually performed in a 15-minute break that abruptly came three-quarters of the way through Minaj's set. Along with a couple of long video interludes, Monica's montage made the concert feel unusually disjointed. Her songs, including "Before You Walk Out of My Life," also felt mellow and a tad outdated amid Minaj's recent, fiery hits.

In between those preshow and midshow lulls, though, Minaj was fully and fiercely present. The Trinidad-born rapper, 41, took the stage in a silvery space-queen outfit to the tune of "I'm the Best," and she seemed intent on living up to that title.

The second in an unprecedented run of three Target Center concerts in six months headlined by female hip-hop stars — after Doja Cat's and Ice Spice's December date , and before Megan Thee Stallion's May 14 booking — Minaj's performance boasted a big, bright visual production on par with Doja's show.

Neon lights were decked out all over the stage (yes, often tinted pink). Dancers and pyro were constantly blowing across the stage. Minaj's numerous outfits were quite a spectacle, too, from a bejeweled purple bodysuit with matching thigh-high boots near the start to an elegant, flowing red dress donned later for the mellower love songs "Save Me" and the new one "Fallin' 4 U."

Minaj wasn't as tied in with the choreography or as physically hyperactive as Doja was. Her most-cheered dance move may have been a stage-hump in "Pink Birthday," which rivaled the one Prince offered across the street at First Avenue for movie cameras in 1983. She genuinely seemed to be pouring most of her energy into her vocals instead, and her talent as a rapper and bawdy, tongue-tying lyricist never got lost in the grand visual scheme.

She came on fast and furious on the microphone right away during "Barbie Dangerous" and "Beep Beep." Kudos to the crowd for keeping up with her rapid delivery and making the latter tune a big sing-along. A lot of today's hot young male rappers, including Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert, should take note on how Minaj spit forcefully into her mic all night and did not let her backing tracks do any heavy-lifting for her.

Other impressive runs came later when she ripped through "Red Ruby Da Sleeze" and "Chun-Li" back-to-back under a backdrop of Chinese imagery, and again near show's end in abbreviated versions of "Super Freaky Girl" and "Anaconda."

After all the glitz and glamor displayed throughout her show, Minaj made a simpler choice of ripped jeans, white cotton tank top and a (pink) do-rag on her head when she returned after Monica's mini-set for a run of hits, including "Starships" and "Everybody." She came off more down-to-earth, but her finale look also seemed to emphasize there's a lot more to her stardom than the glitz and glamor.

Chris Riemenschneider has been covering the Twin Cities music scene since 2001, long enough for Prince to shout him out during "Play That Funky Music (White Boy)." Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour Next% 2 Golf Shoe Review

M y Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour Next% 2 golf shoes arrived the day before I was due to play a 72 hole event over a weekend and while I would never normally put new shoes into action for such a lengthy event, these shoes felt so unbelievably comfortable when I first slipped them on I was confident they would be up to the challenge.

I have fairly wide feet and had previously identified Nike golf shoes as being more on the narrow side, causing some issues with rubbing and foot pain. I was delighted to discover this was not the case and while there may be wider fitting shoes on the market, these were perfectly comfortable out on the course.

I felt as though I was already on to a winner with the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour Next% 2 golf shoes as not only would I class them as some of the most comfortable golf shoes , I would say they look outstanding. The colourway I tried is a little bold, I admit, but there is the option of a classic white and black for those looking to be more discreet. I really feel as though the green, blue and pink tinge on these shoes help it stand out, not only highlighting some of the really impressive technical features but also attracting plenty of compliments over the weekend from playing partners and spectators alike. The sporty style may not be to everyone's taste but I honestly felt a little more athletic in these shoes just because of how they look and felt, although this was probably helped by the fact they are worn by one of my favorite players in Brooks Koepka .

While the previous model of this golf shoe was highly rated and deemed one of the best golf shoes on the market, I really feel as though Nike has made some big improvements from a performance standpoint. It has integrated additional spikes in the forefoot, raising the total of spikes to six, which is two more than the previous design. This provided excellent traction while walking and swinging from different lies.

The Air Zoom unit offers exceptional comfort and a cloud-like feeling under your foot, solidifying its position as some of the best golf shoes for walking . This was enhanced by the cushioned insole and updated midsole foam, which not only provided comfort but good levels of stability when hitting from uneven lies on the course.

The Flyweave material of the upper is comfortable and also offers protection from the elements as you receive a two-year waterproof warranty with these golf shoes. While this may not be as necessary if you’re lucky enough to live in a warmer climate, this is essential for those that experience harsher winters and these shoes really will rival the performance of any of the best winter golf shoes .

This particular pair dealt with 72 holes fresh out of the box admirably and felt as comfortable as though they were designed to run marathons. This is the most complete golf shoe I have worn in a while and so I thoroughly enjoyed wearing them. Retailing at $170/£159, I believe the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour Next% 2 golf shoe offers great value for money and provides you with everything you need out of an all-year round golf shoe.

“Alright!” shouted a clearly excited Chris Robinson last week as the Black Crowes performed on stage in Chicago. “Friday night at the rock and roll show!”

Following last month’s release of their latest studio album Happiness Bastards , their ninth, the Crowes performed Friday night in Chicago at Aragon Ballroom about halfway through the U.S. leg of their current tour, a lengthy jaunt set to take them abroad next month ahead of fall and winter dates in support of Aerosmith’s rescheduled “Peace Out” North American farewell tour.

“When we saw we were coming back to the Aragon, we were very excited,” said Robinson late, noting the group’s first performance in the picturesque room in almost 25 years. “And we’re very excited to have Glyders opening for us. They’re from this town, check them out,” he continued, lauding the work of the Chicago-based, psychedelic garage rock trio (as a cardboard cutout of Chuck Berry looked on from the venue’s balcony).

Over the course of 35 minutes, Glyders offered up a rewarding, lo-fi opening set.

“Cheers, everyone!” said bassist Eliza Weber early. Singer/guitarist Joshua Condon and drummer Joe Seger would soon find a groove during standout tracks like “Geneva Strangemod” and “High Time,” both from their 2023 full-length debut Maria’s Hunt.

Since we were first introduced in 1990, the Crowes have tallied a pair of platinum albums and three gold records, with Happiness Bastards , the group’s first studio album of original material in nearly 15 years, a worthy addition to their unique brand of southern-fried rock and roll.

“There’s a little town about 90 miles south of Atlanta called Macon, Georgia,” Robinson explained Friday night in Chicago, spotlighting the group’s roots. “Little Richard is from Macon. And the Allman Brothers Band,” he began, just one day removed from the death of co-founding Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts. “But there’s another: the greatest soul singer of all time, Otis Redding,” he continued. “Well, we jumped on that song and it goes like this,” said Robinson, setting up a late take on one of the biggest Black Crowes hits in Redding’s “Hard to Handle.”

While recent tours celebrated their Shake Your Money Maker record, this one makes the case for the new project, with the Black Crowes performing six songs from it over the course of about 95 minutes on stage Friday in Chicago.

As they do on the album too, “Bedside Manners” and “Rats and Clowns,” two of Happiness Bastards ’ more rollicking moments, kicked things off Friday night.

Performing as an 8 piece group, drummer Cully Symington and keyboard player Erik Deutsch were set beside backing vocalists Mackenzie Adams and Lesley Grant atop a unique two-tiered stage built to resemble stacks upon stacks of vintage amplifiers and audio equipment.

Frontman Chris Robinson, who performed in front of a large mirror, was joined on stage by guitarists Rich Robinson and Nico Bereciartua as well as longtime bassist Sven Pipien. Festive lighting strung over, along and behind the stage flanked the group who performed under a massive “Happiness Bastards” banner hanging from the lighting rig over the stage.

“Good to see you all. Welcome to the ‘Happiness Bastards!’” said Chris early in Friday’s set. “We’ve got some new songs and we got some old ones - like this!” he said, shuffling left before pointing right at Rich on the slide guitar, ultimately bunnyhopping in reverse back to center stage as “Twice As Hard” rang out early in Chicago.

Robinson was in fine form Friday, a rejuvenated frontman shimmying about while delivering a still impressive lead vocal, with the new music cementing a once unthinkable rebirth for the Black Crowes, who’ve continually staked their claim as one of America’s best rock acts since reforming in 2019.

From 1996’s Three Snakes and One Charm , “Nebakanezer” was an early highlight in Chicago. The gnarly dual guitar riffwork of “Horsehead,” from 1999’s By Your Side followed, providing one of Friday’s more rewarding one-two punches.

While “Oh Josephine” slowed things down momentarily, “Thorn in my Pride” found the group beginning to roll, with Chris on harmonica as the Crowes delivered an all hands, Stones-like jam to close the cut.

“Everyone say hello to Rich Robinson,” said Chris, gesturing toward his younger brother. With a wave of his right hand, Rich greeted the rapturuous Chicago crowd, soon strumming in the familiar opening licks to “She talks to Angels” on acoustic guitar.

From the new record, “Flesh Wound” followed, quickly proving to be a late high spot. The saccharine-drenched affair was a blast in the live setting, conjuring up the power pop stylings of Cheap Trick as the Black Crowes soared forward in fun fashion.

The brothers Robinson leaned in close, singing into the same mic during “Jealous Again” before closing with “Remedy,” with Chris back on harp as the new “Kindred Friend” wrapped things up in the Windy City.

“What is a band, other than something you dream up?” asked Chris rhetorically on stage in Chicago. “This band started in our mom and dad’s house in the 80s,” he continued, noting the pair’s humble roots. “And that dream will continue on.”
