Event Details

Iconic British band Take That has announced 4 shows at The O2, taking place in April 2024 on Thursday 25, Friday 26, Saturday 27, Sunday 28 May, Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 1 May.

Alongside the show announcements the band has also announced news of their ninth studio album This Life, set for release 24th November. To celebrate the news further, Take That have also unleashed their brand-new single Windows which is out now. They will be joined on the tour by very special guest, Olly Murs.

Those who pre-order new album This Life from the official store here before 10:00 on 26th September will receive a special code to access pre-sale tickets from Wednesday 27th September at 9.30am

Take That are renowned for their huge productions and incredible live shows, and currently hold the record for the most performances at London’s The O2 with 34 headline shows. 2011’s Progress tour broke box office records by selling over 1 million tickets in less than 24 hours, becoming the biggest tour in the UK and earning them a place on Billboard’s annual ‘Top 25 Tours’ list, placing third worldwide. In 2019, the band celebrated their 30th anniversary with the 38 date sell-out Odyssey tour which saw them play to 29 arenas and 9 stadiums, selling over 650,000 tickets.

Take That’s brand new single, Windows, out today - sees them reunite for their first original composition in over five years. Windows, is a beautiful track which tells the story of emerging from the darkness into the light. As a familiar falsetto rings out across the opening notes of Windows, it signals a new era for one of Britain’s best selling bands, Take That; an era brimming with energy, creativity and a continued desire to challenge and surprise.

The musicality of Windows hints at what listeners can expect from This Life, the band’s ninth studio album and their first since 2017’s Wonderland. Beautiful melodies, soaring choruses, sophisticated harmonies beautifully blending the trio’s voices permeate the new album, due for release on 24th November.

“It’s been a wonderful experience being back in the studio together making this record. It has that feeling of spreading your wings, letting out the old and bringing in the new” commented the band. 'We’re incredibly proud of the new album - there’s a sense of togetherness, whether that’s us coming back together as a band or people wanting connection in their own lives. We’re excited for this new chapter."

Throughout the writing and recording process, the band honed this new sound in some of music’s most hallowed halls, including New York’s Electric Lady Studios and Nashville’s Historic RCA Studio A which between them have hosted David Bowie, Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, Adele, Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers and more. Windows and upcoming album This Life continues the legacy of one of the most successful bands in British chart history, with over 45 million records sold worldwide and 12 Number 1 hits in the UK.

For a band 30+ years into their career, Take That are not standing still; constantly evolving, the future looks bright for the trio.

About Take That

Formed as a five-piece in 1989, Take That enjoyed immediate success with their first two albums charting at Number 2 and Number 1 respectively. Third album Nobody Else confirmed their global domination, selling over six million copies and topping the charts in 11 countries. The departure of band member Robbie Williams prompted a break-up in 1996 and nine years in the wilderness before the remaining four members reunited for 2005’s The Ultimate Tour. This sparked one of the greatest comebacks in British music history with Take That going on to release three Number 1 albums in just four years. Robbie’s return for 2011’s Progress saw them break UK records for the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and fastest-selling tour of all time. Williams’ second departure, along with that of Jason Orange, left the remaining three members to release III and 2017’s Wonderland, which were certified platinum and gold respectively.

The band celebrated their 30th anniversary with the release of Odyssey in 2018, a greatest hits album of beautifully re-imagined versions of some of the biggest tracks from their three-decade-spanning career. The album entered the charts at Number 1 and was closely followed by a critically acclaimed UK and European stadium and arena tour in 2019.

Howard Donald, Gary Barlow and Mark Owen of Take That performing at the O2 Arena.

Take That review – oddly packaged pop still packs a wallop

O2 Arena, London There’s some magic amid the cheese as the trio revisit a stacked catalogue of hits – and gamely give their old choreography a go

I t’s difficult to say exactly what Take That are going for on their This Life tour: a 41-date behemoth that has shifted more than 700,000 tickets. Video interstitials show the three remaining members doing their very best at acting in retrofuturist infomercials. The set is sometimes done up like a 1950s sitcom, sometimes just with sterile white staircases. At times we’re at a pop show and at others a museum retrospective. It’s confusing packaging for three decades’ worth of songs.

But you simply have to relinquish reason and give into the vibe, which is Butlins’ redcoats doing Britain’s Got Talent. The trio emerge dressed like youth pastors by way of Balenciaga for a downbeat start to the show, but soon nudge it up a gear with crowd favourites nestled among the new material. Gary Barlow makes the most sense when he’s safely ensconced behind a piano, bashing out a ballad. A Million Love Songs absolutely shines, while Back for Good sounds as good as it ever has – which is very. Barlow never delivered these songs with much in the way of youthful energy, so the intervening 30 years have taken nothing from them.

The eras section, which comes with enthusiastic narration, a fake phonecall bit and never once mentions Robbie Williams or Jason Orange, is a fun if incomplete history of Britain’s most unlikely boyband. They gamely give the original Pray choreo a go, and for some reason their slinkiest hit, Sure, gets a big-band breakdown before lurching back in the direction of R&B to end. “Oh, you’re enjoying the 90s stuff,” Barlow says, with the undeniable air of a local radio DJ giving it everything he’s got.

Take That at the O2.

There is still no question that beyond the 90s stuff, Shine is an absolute roof-raising banger (despite the urge to buy discount products from big box retailers hanging over it), and The Flood comes into its own on the stage, crackling with energy. Each member gets his moment in the spotlight – Owen’s solo hit Clementine is when he really comes alive, while Donald’s mournful rendition of Speak Without Words (“Well, this never got released but here it is anyway”) is a reminder that his own solo career never took off.

after newsletter promotion

Amid the cheese and baffling stagecraft, there are further flashes of magic. Never Forget is a reminder of the power Take That wield: a slow burn, a heady shot of nostalgia and a euphoric passing of the baton to whatever comes next. They’ve come a long way – but they’re still not too sure where they’ve been.

Take That, UK pop group

How to get tickets for Take That’s 2024 UK tour: full list of dates, prices and when tickets go on sale

‘This Life On Tour’ will see the trio play 29 dates in 15 cities in the UK and Ireland

Ed Cunningham

Everyone knows Take That. They’re a British institution, responsible for some of the biggest pop tunes of the past three decades, from ‘Shine’ and ‘Patience’ to ‘Back For Good’. Just reading that, we know you’ve just started humming one of those tunes.

These days consisting of just Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, there are decisively fewer members of Take That than at the group’s peak. But they’re still going strong, having just released a new single (‘Windows’) and announced a new album (‘This Life’) to be released in November.

And now, in very exciting news, Take That have announced a tour. Named the ‘This Life On Tour’, it’ll see them play over 30 gigs in over a dozen cities. Here is everything you need to know about the tour, from dates and tickets to the support slots.

Will there be a Take That UK tour in 2024?

There most certainly will be! Take That are going on tour in the UK and Ireland from April to June 2024, covering 31 dates in 15 cities. After the presale today (September 27), further dates were added in Manchester and Leeds – more info on that below.

When do Take That tickets go on sale?

Tickets officially go on sale on September 29 at 9:30am BST . Find the general sale link here .

How much are Take That tickets?

Pricing for each venue and concert has not yet been confirmed, though ticket prices are likely to start from around £60, plus booking fees.

Can I go VIP?

Yep, you can do that through the official hospitality partner,   Seat Unique .   Packages get you things like premium seats, arrival via the hospitality entrance, premium dining options and other cool things.   Find out more here .

How to access presale

Presale was today (September 27) at 9:30am, so if you wanted to get in on the act and didn’t, it’s too late. Fans were able to access presale by pre-ordering the Take That’s new album ‘This Life’.

By all accounts, the presale sounded like a bit of a frenzy. Fans took to Twitter to express frustration at lengthy waiting times and website issues. Here’s to hoping there aren’t any similar problems when general tickets go on sale on September 29!

Take That tour dates 2024: When do Take That tickets go on sale?

Take That has announced details of their new album and 2024 tour, here's all you need to know about ticket sales...

Take That Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald have announced a new album and that they are going back on tour in 2024 - and fans want to know when Take That tickets go on sale.

Following on from the Take That movie Greatest Days success, the boys are back to mark a new era of music after recording together in Savannah, Georgia.

If you're an original Take That fan, you will know that buying tickets for their gigs is like training for an Olympic sport - whether you're aiming for Gold Circle seats to get within arms reach or just want to be in the same building as the boys - your fastest finger might be first but is your credit card ready and your patience?

Their 2011 Progress tour broke box office records by selling over one million tickets in less than 24 hours. It's five years since the band last performed together and with a new single Windows followed by studio album This Life set to be released on 24th November, fans are determined as ever to see the boys live on tour.

Plus singer and former judge on The Voice , Olly Murs, is joining them as the supporting act, so both "#MursArmy" (Olly Murs fans) and "#Thatters" (Take That fans) will be scrambling for tickets - and that's even without any news of former bandmates Robbie Williams or Jason Orange joining them.

One fan wrote, "Let the ticket stress commence" and another fan added, "Love these smiling faces. I’m ready to buy tickets, stressy though."

And a third fan put, "I can't wait to see you but getting stressed about getting tickets already."

GoodtoKnow Newsletter

Parenting advice, hot topics, best buys and family finance tips delivered straight to your inbox.

While a fourth fan who was looking for things to do with the kids asked, "Is there a age limit for the tour? My daughter is five she will be almost six and is such a big fan."

We look at all you need to know about how to buy tickets [we can't guarantee it will be stress-free though]...
