Trip's Diner (Tampa)

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

The breakfast was perfect! That pancake was as big as my head! It was all deelish! I also had biscuits & gravy - yummmmmm! We will be back!

I had their version of a BLT, but they call it BST --- Bacon, Spinach and Fried Green Tomatoes on toasted sourdough bread. Perhaps they should rename it BSFGT!! Just a nice place to come for breakfast or lunch, and not too far up the... More

Breakfast here is never a disappointment. Food is always served hot and delicious! Service is top notch. Greeted by staff as soon as you walk in.

Thank you for the nice review!

I had hear about this place on Facebook so I gave it a try with my family.......their grits are fantastic! Omelettes lare very delicious. Very affordable, clean, comfortable and friendly.

Thank you for the great review!

Great food, plenty to eat, $11 for a breakfast plate. Eggs, toast cheese grits, bacon or sauage. Eating outside or inside, everyone helpful.

We had the club sandwich and The BLT with a fried green tomato and a sunny side up egg. Both were outstanding. One of our favorite new spots.

We came here 3 days in a row for breakfast. Food was great, service was good and very clean as well. The eggs Benedict, pancakes and home fries were all great

Trip’s Diner is the happening place in seminal Heights for breakfast. A large venue, but competent staff handling everyone’s order with Cara. Sat at the counter, had the best breakfast in a long time. Good music, friendly service and fantastic food

We wanted to try this place because of the reviews. It is a cool looking place and had a good vibe, the food was not great. I ordered a simple burger cooked medium. It was medium rare to rare and extremely salty. My husband got... More

Heard of this restaurant from a friend. Decided to take my sister to this restaurant. When we arrived it was full and we were lucky to get a seat. Our waitress was extremely busy but she came back and took our order. My triple club... More

I ate the soup and salad for lunch. The French onion soup was tasty; however, why melt the cheese in the microwave when it only takes a minute or two to put in the oven? The spinach salad was good, but nothing special.

When the food is that good and there is a wide variety to choose from, you go back more than once! Breakfast is amazing and can be as large or as small as you want. You have to try the cornbread. It is wonderful. We... More

I ordered the Big Breakfast and it was appropriately named. Three eggs and I get them over medium and they were excellent. Two sausage patties tasted absolute sensational Homefries: home fry potatoes which are the chucks of potatoes, which I prefer over the shoe string... More

Trip's Diner (Tampa)

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Just had breakfast at trips, it took few minutes for someone to notice me in empty counter, keep in mind I notice a few employees standing and eating by the door. a server by the name Megan asked if I was attended to she did... serve me a coffee. Then another server (someone called her name Evette) with her hair all over the place talking to 2 managers who I think never noticed her hair, or even notice her mask that was not covering her nose. I come here once a month since they opened. I am giving 5 stars for the food and for that server who noticed me. More

Thank you for the nice review on the food and Megan's service!

During our stay in Tampa we ate at Trip's Diner twice. The food was great and you get your monies worth. The service was also excellent in a time when I have found that a lot of restaurants the quality has really gone downhill. We... did to-go orders and the food was still hot and fresh when we brought it back to our rental. Food was great. There are no complaints that we had being that we did eat here twice. The Fried Green Tomatoes were the best that I have ever had. The Hubcakes are HUGE!! The Double Hubcakes is enough to feed 2-3 people if you have other sides to go with them. Highly recommend trying this restaurant, you will not be disappointed! More

Be sure to ask someone there about the name "Trips". My wife has been here several times, and I finally had a chance to come with her for lunch. I had what they call a BST - Bacon, Spinach and Fried Green Tomato sandwich on... toasted sourdough bread. A new favorite of mine, Lunch for the two of us came to $23 before tip. More

Thank you for the great review!

The staff were very friendly, but not efficient and didn't listen to our order even though I asked twice for the picata on my grouper, I didn't get it. It was heavily seasoned with some red seasoning I'm guessing maybe Old Bay, just too salty... to eat. The meatloaf was okay. Award winning key lime pie makes me question who awarded it and if they've eaten non frozen key lime pie from anywhere other than Walmart before. For $60 for three people, it was a big let down for us considering the hype. More

I read a lot of great reviews about the food at Trip's Diner. I am always looking for good food in my area. I called and placed an order over the phone, the young lady answering the phone was very pleasant, repeated the order back... to ensure it was correct. I arrived at the Diner, It was a small place , very clean and appeared to be well ran. The young lady behind the counter was the same pleasant person I spoke with over the phone. She showed me my order, which it looked delicious. When I got it home began to eat, I quickly realized that the chopped steak that I ordered med. well, was cooked very well done., and tough to eat. The other order was over cooked and had no taste to it. I had such high hopes that this was going to be the first of many meals from Trip's Diner. Sadly it was my first and last meal, you have one chance to impress and you failed. The only reason I rated Trip's 3 stars was because of the pleasant young lady behind the counter!! More

Seven of us had a monthly “girls lunch” here for the first time. It definitely won’t be the last! What a selection they have, it was hard to choose. I had the BST a bacon, spinach and fried green tomato sandwich with basil mayo. It... was delicious, the bacon was nice and thick, the green tomato made it perfect. Everyone in our group enjoyed their lunch and all agreed we would be back. More

Wanted this type of comfort food and was was NOT disappointed either by the food or service. Food came quickly, was hot and filling, service was very friendly without any hint of the phoney niceness you can sometimes encounter. A really good experience. Would go... again for sure More

Very awesome local diner. Service was awesome. Food was very good and served hot. Fresh. Lots of flavor. We had 6 in our party. 1 under 4. Mux of items from Blueberry Pancakes, buger, fish, biscuits and gravy cob Salad snd even milkshake. Probably best ice i had... in few months . Very nice treat in the Seminole Heights area of central Tampa. More

The three of us shared fried chicken and shrimp and grits. Both entrees were good! The chicken had a good home cooked tasting batter on it l, spiced perfectly. The shrimp and grits were underwhelming. It was a good dish just not a winner in... my book. I’m a huge fan of the dish! Trip’s version was kind of bland. Plain grits with all the goodies piled on top. If I went back I’d have the chicken. Sides were all good. Winner was the mixed veggies. Shared a piece of Key Lime pie and it was great. Service was prompt and courteous. More

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Tampa. The staff was all so nice and were attentive! I had the chicken salad melt on sourdough. I am a lover of chicken salad and get it anywhere I can! This was hands down the BEST I’ve had!... I loved the grapes being in it and the candied pecans were incredible! The French fries were perfectly crispy too. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak and said that the meat tasted fresh and that it’s one of the best he’s had. He also enjoyed the fries. I wish we lived closer. It was an early lunch, but I was still full that night. I highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!!! More

The server was excellent! She explained everything, answered all our questions, and checked on us thru out our visit. The shrimp and grits was amazing! Very savory, not too salty not too blan. The waffle was toasty in the outside and fluffy inside. Definitely worth... it! More

We went to Trips on a vacation for breakfast, and we were very happy. Our waitress was great and the food came in less than 15 minutes. I got Shrimp and Grits with scrambled eggs, and it was the best I had ever had. We... came back the next morning and had just as great of service. Highly recommend. More

Always reliable, always busy, can’t go wrong no matter what you order. I like their omelettes, breakfast quesadilla, and of course the enormous breakfast burrito. Servers are friendly and attentive. There are two other locations as well.

My family and I came to Tampa for a short vacation. The first morning we were on the hunt for a good local restaurant before we started our day. We saw Trip’s with a 4.5 rating and we were not disappointed. There is going to... be a little wait, but those cheese grits were AMAZING!!! More

We had a nice and relaxing time at Trip’s. The waitress was excellent. She didn’t rush us and was attentive. The food was good. The Country Fried Steak was excellent. Cuban
so so. It was nice to go to a place where you could just enjoy... the experience. More

If breakfast has gotten a little humdrum for you lately, we’d like to give you a little something to drool over! Trip’s Diner is more than just a family restaurant filled with traditional menu options. While raising triplets, we’ve learned that adding some variety into meal choices can lead to a smash hit that has everyone almost licking their plates clean!

Who doesn’t love scrambled eggs and bacon? What about stuffing them into a tortilla along with scallions and cheese for the perfect quesadilla? It’s topped with fresh sour cream and salsa, both of which bring out as much flavor as they add!

EGGS BENEDICT: POACHED EGGS WITH CANADIAN BACON ON AN ENGLISH MUFFIN. TOPPED WITH LEMON CREAM HOLLANDAISE. INCLUDES CHOICE OF SIDE ITEM The delicate flavor of lemon hollandaise combined with basil pesto is the highlight of “Strata.”

This dish is made in layers of sausage, baked egg, and bread. It’s so good. Our “Burrito Buster” packs full flavor into a tortilla (white or wheat) stuffed with 3 over-easy eggs, home fries, sausage, onions, peppers, and cheddar cheese.
