Swingin’ Safari Mini Golf in Chandler is an indoor mini-golf course with a twist: it’s glow in the dark! Kids and adults will have fun with this 18 hole course. It’s a great place for the summer months, or any time you need a family outing!

We recently visited with the kids and absolutely loved the artwork! The safari theme is very clear, with maps on the walls, characters decked out with hats and binoculars, and animals. So many animals! It was fun to just browse the artwork along with playing mini-golf. And of course, the kids loved the oversized animals. The hippo and lion were the top favorites.

The mini-golf course itself took us about 40 minutes. A couple of stops were a challenge, which was great for our nine-year-old! The glow in the dark aspect of Swingin’ Safari applies to the artwork, and the golf clubs and balls. Be sure to wear something white when you play, or anything (like shoes) with neon green, pink, or orange will glow as well.

After our game, we had fun with the arcade. You’ll find claw games, air hockey, driving games, and more. There’s even a cute Tom and Jerry-themed ride for the little ones. Each ride takes quarters, ranging from 50 cents to a dollar per game. There is an ATM on-site, and a change machine for large bills.

Swingin’ Safari Mini Golf in Chandler is currently open Wednesday-Monday, 11am to 8pm, and extended to 10pm on Friday and Saturday. For a round of golf, ages 2-7 are $8 (under 2 is free), ages 8-59 are $10, and ages 60+ are $9. Replays the same day are $5/person! Restrooms are located inside the golf area.

They often have specials, like for Mother’s and Father’s Day; give them a call to see what’s currently available! You can also have your birthday party at Swingin’ Safari, with packages starting at $175.

Mini golf is a favorite in our family. Whenever we are traveling or looking to spend some time outdoors, we find ourselves searching for courses that are fun for the whole family.

We have put together a list of local mini golf courses around the Portland and Vancouver metro area that are kid friendly and the parents will have fun too!

This family fun center has a ton of entertainment including outdoor mini golf. Their facility has two beautiful courses with 18 holes each that challenge you with bridges, creeks, caves and a castle. Twin Pines Country Club

Located on a private residence, this couple has opened up their property to provide free outdoor mini golf for the public to enjoy. This 6 hole course is located in the Montavilla neighborhood of Portland. Clubs and balls are provide, they just ask to be respectful of their property and the neighbors. What a fun way to spend an afternoon, especially if you are on a budget.

Eagle Landing

Known for its challenging traditional golf course, it also has an outdoor, 36 hole mini golf course. Perfect for the kids (or adults too), this course has waterfalls, fountains, and mountains making it a blast to enjoy. You can also try the country’s first dedicated soccer golf course. Great for all ages and all skill levels. Last call for mini golf is at 9:30pm.

Oaks Park’s Chipper’s Woods Miniature Golf

When visiting historic Oaks Park Amusement park there is also an outdoor mini golf along with the roller coasters, games and roller skating. With views of the Willamette River and mostly in the shade, it’s a great way to unwind after a day of fun. Golf course access is available on a first come, first serve basis – rain or shine.

Alderbrook Park

Located in rural NE Vancouver and situated on 63 acres, this outdoor private park has so much for the whole family to enjoy, including outdoor mini golf. From bounce houses, to swimming, to volleyball, kickball, paddle boat rides and more. Mini golf is just one of the many things that you will do here. This 18 hole course is free with paid admission to the park. Be sure to bring your photo ID as they will hold it in exchange for a putter and balls. Be sure to call or check their website for days and hours when they are open. They frequently have private events which are closed to the public.

Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf is an adventure course with a geographical theme where players follow an explorer’s path to the golf holes. The course was built in honor of Professor Duffer A. Hacker – a man who wore many hats in geological/archeology studies.

The two 18-hole golf courses take you up to two different expeditions in search of gold and diamonds hidden on the (mock) Islands of Fog Clift in South America.

So, here’s how it works; once you purchase your tickets, you are led to a mining car* up the mountains where the golf course is laid out. Follow Professor Hacker’s trail as you putt your balls through the obstacles such as pirate ships, caves, a temple, a mock volcano, and waterfalls.

There are straightforward, medium-level, and challenging courses for kids and seasoned golfers who understand the game. Each hole has a different farm animal on the multiple courses for all levels of mini golfers.

The “farm theme” makes people come from all over the world to experience old Mac Donald’s mini golf adventure – you can expect to see pigs basking in the sun, horses, chickens, and so much more. They also play farm country music to enhance the farm environment vibe.

Gatlinburg Mini Golf

Experience fun and excitement at the Countryside-themed obstacles with 18 holes at the Hillbilly Golf in Gatlinburg. Enjoy Hillbilly putt-putt with “Dueling Banjos” strumming guitars in the background as you play from hole to hole in the countrified outhouses and stills as obstacles placed in a downward fashion.

So it’s easy to lose your ball, over and over – so you might want to bring some extras to achieve your par in the shortest – or longest time possible.

So here’s how it works at the Hillbilly golf course : to get to the first hole, take a ride in a tramcar that takes off 300 feet up a steep slope. This is not for the faint-hearted. If you have kids, they’ll love the thrill, no doubt. The view of the city from the top is stunning!

Once you get to the top, there are two courses with obnoxious farm equipment laid out as obstacles, and you’ll love it. Pick both courses. The difference is about $6 per game.

The incline railway that intersects with the course is quite a sight, so don’t miss out on the scenery and take some pics. At the end of the course, the tram ride will transport you back to the golf course entrance.
