Vancouver Indian Arm Luncheon Cruise

Cruise ship. Photo by Claire Bolgil .

In addition to offering scenic Harbour Tours , the Vancouver Harbour Cruises company also offers a spectacular luncheon cruise of Indian Arm.

Where do Vancouver Harbour Cruises Depart From?

Vancouver Harbour Cruises are based at the eastern end of Vancouver Harbour, near Stanley Park, at the north foot of Denman Street. You can walk here along the scenic Coal Harbour Seawalk.

What is the Vancouver Harbour Cruises Indian Arm Luncheon Cruise?

The Indian Arm Luncheon Cruise is a spectacular way to spend four hours cruising past some of the most amazing scenery in Canada whilst enjoying an excellent buffet lunch!

Indian Arm Luncheon Cruise Highlights

Having sailed past Downtown Vancouver, the Inner Harbour and the Burrard Inlet you continue north into Indian Arm. Indian Arm is an 18km (11.25 miles) long coastal mountain fjord which was left behind as a result of the ice glaciers which once sat here.

It’s hard to believe that you’re so close to Vancouver when the scenery looks like you could be in the middle of nowhere!

As well as lush green forests, islands and some beautiful homes you’ll see the Silver Falls waterfall and hear a guided commentary, and of course all of this is whilst you enjoy a catered salmon or chicken buffet lunch.

To find out more about all of the cruises and tours offered, sailing dates and times, ticket prices, as well as special events and charter possibilities, please visit the Harbour Cruises website .

Indian Arm Luncheon cruise is a must! - Harbour Cruises

Indian Arm Luncheon cruise is a must!

We did the Indian Arm 4 hour luncheon cruise from Vancouver on the MVP Princess boat. The food was absolutely delicious (especially the salmon), the staff were friendly and the views from inside the ship are beautiful. Everyone can see well no matter where you are seated and the commentary was informative and interesting. Overall it was a great time and worth the price of 64.95$ per person.

The cruise was OK. It was nice to see Vancouver from the sea but the commentary and cruise are not the most exciting. If you have a spare hour or two that you need to fill in this would be good, but I would not plan to include it again.

If you want to spend a leisurely afternoon touring the waterways of Vancouver then I recommend you take the luncheon cruise. Beautiful views of Vancouver skylines and mountain ranges. Waters are calm and ship is very roomy and large. We took the Harbour Princess. Has plenty of seating and delicious lunch buffet. Cruise takes you to the Silver Falls and the captain literally takes you up close to the shore to get a good view. While in Vancouver our husbands went salmon fishing and my friend and I chose to do the luncheon cruise. Even though it rained on the way out was very pleasant to stay inside and watch the scenery through the large windows. On the way back the sun was shining and beautiful views of area up top.

On the water is where memories are made… Whether it’s the exhilarating rush as you come up speed in our open-air Zodiacs, the fresh mountain air that fills your lungs, or the sense of wonder gazing up at the towering Lion’s Gate bridge. With a friendly, local captain and three hours to immerse yourself in unrivalled natural beauty, you’ll smell the earthy cedars of our temperate rainforests, feel the mist on your face from a towering glacial waterfall, and have plenty of time to slow down and soak it all in…

In contrast to crowded cruises and other boat tours in Vancouver, our Zodiacs are fast, nimble and limited to 12 guests. Bottom line? A more intimate experience with everything from waterfalls to wildlife.

What Our Guests Are Saying

Fabulous! What an amazing trip. Would recommend this to everyone. I was initially nervous as I have never been on a boat such as this, but felt completely at ease. Thank you for such a great time.

A fantastic excursion! The whole ten members of the family joined this tour to Granite Falls – this included children and senior citizens. The trip was operated to an excellent degree – not only informative but exciting as well. This tour should be compulsory for all visitors!

Fantastic experience! Even though it rained, the trip was completely unforgettable. Raphael was great at getting us up close with seals, as well as pointing out other wildlife and interesting houses along the fjord. The pictures he took of us came out great as well, so if you need Instagram proof of your adventures, he’ll take care of you!

3 hours of pure fun! Our tour was over the top!! Our guide was the best you could ask for. He was very informative and a great skipper too. I have lived in the Vancouver area all of 70 years and I learn a lot about Indian Arm and the area. I would recommend it to everyone close and far. You will not be disappointed!

Frequently asked questions

Will i get wet.

It’s very unlikely that you will get wet, but being out on the water, there is always the chance! We have small lockers for rent at our office for personal valuables or you can bring a backpack and store it under your seat on the Zodiac.

Do you provide gear to keep us dry?

We have cozy, waterproof, full-length cruiser suits that are optional for all our guests. Not sure if you’ll need it? No worries, ask the captain to bring a suit for you “just in case”.

Are the Zodiacs comfortable?

Our Zodiacs are VERY comfy with cushioned bench seats and excellent back support. We can fit up to 12 guests and seating is typically 3 across in each row.

What if it is raining?

We run tours rain or shine, unless the conditions are dangerous. Vancouver is known for its sunny skies from June through September, and you can grab a complimentary all-weather suit any time of year.

Will it be wavy or rough on the water?

The Granite Falls Boat Tour offers the smoothest ride of all our tours. Our Zodiacs are extremely safe and stable vessels and most of the tour takes place in protected harbours and waterways.

Is there parking available?

Paid parking is available throughout Granville Island near our office. There’s lots of space but on the weekends it can fill up, so plan to arrive a little early. Want to skip the hassle? You can easily catch a 10-15 min Uber or taxi from any hotel downtown!

Here are our suggestions for paid parking on Granville Island:

Old Bridge Indoor Parkade

Anderson Street Parking Lot

Granville Island Parking Lot

When do I need to arrive for my Boat Tour?

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure.

Are bathrooms available?

There are no bathrooms on the boat! That being said, there is a bathroom available at our office you can use before and after the tour.

Do I need to wear a life jacket?

YES! We have comfortable, slim-design inflatable life jackets for all of our guests to wear.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you acquired the Trip Protection for your booking during checkout, you can cancel up to 1 hour before departure time for a full refund. Otherwise, the following policy applies: i ) 100% refund for bookings cancelled more than 7 days before your booking time. ii) 50% refund for bookings cancelled between 3 and 7 days before your booking time. iii) Bookings cancelled less than 3 days before your booking time have no refund.

What if I need to cancel for a large group?

For groups larger than 6 we require 7 days notice for a full cancellation without Trip Protection

Can I bring a camera?

We have many guests who choose to bring their cameras with them. We recommend that you keep your camera in a backpack under your seat while moving and take it out when we are stopped at various sites along the way.

How old do I have to be to sign a waiver?

You must be 19 years of age or older to sign your waiver. Anyone under 19 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver for them.

I’m mobility impaired, can I still go?

We don’t recommend this tour for those with neck or back injuries. If you’d like to discuss your situation further, please feel free to call us at (604) 736-5155

Should I tip my tour guide?

If you feel your tour captain has provided a great experience, gratuities are encouraged— and welcomed—at the end of your tour. We believe that recognizing excellent service is a personal matter, though 15-20% of your ticket price is a good rule of thumb.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Advanced purchase is strongly recommended, as tours often sell out. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance.

What if I still have questions?

We’re here to help! Simply call us at (604) 736-5155 if you have any additional questions or concerns.
