HalGLOWeen— the world-famous San Diego Zoo’s light-up-the-night, Halloween-themed extravaganza—is back! This year’s glowing celebration of color has been expanded to five weekends in October—Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. So, get ready to enjoy some safe, family fun at this glittering and glimmering annual spectacular full of entertainment and interactive festivities.  Ages  11 and younger enter free.

FRONT STREET

Skeleton Band

Halloween hits will fill the night air— and they'll have your bones up and moving—when this talented quintet gets  the Front Street Stage rockin' to their groovy, ghouly sounds.

Along Front Street, guests will get to meet and greet our mischievous scarecrow stilt-walkers during their evening of fun.

Python Path

The Reptile House takes on a new look after dark, as guests get to see some of the Zoo’s reptiles in a whole new light.

• Centennial Plaza – Near Wegeforth Bowl

Centennial Plaza will come alive with physical activities for youths as the popular Boolahoops returns to the area. They’ll enjoy interactive family fun, hoop contests, and games every evening during the event. All of the hosted HalGLOWeen fun will get young people of all ages hoopin’, jumpin’, and twirlin’ to all the upbeat Halloween hits!

Celebrate HalGLOWeen and Autumn Festival During Kids Free Month at the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Children 11 and Younger Receive Free Admission in October at Both Wildlife Parks

SAN DIEGO (Aug. 18, 2022) – It’s that time of year again! The San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park are celebrating the fall season with a month full of fun for the whole family. Throughout the entire month of October, youths ages 11 and younger will receive free admission to both wildlife parks and can take part in special weekend activities, including unique entertainment, culinary treats and one-of-a-kind encounters with amazing wildlife. HalGLOWeen

                  HalGLOWeen, the Halloween-themed extravaganza at the San Diego Zoo, has become an annual “must” for the whole family. Each weekend—Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 1 through 29—this light-up-the-night spectacular will provide guests with remarkable wildlife encounters, “fang-tastic” entertainment and festivities. After the sun sets, from 5 to 9 p.m., guests can enjoy a multitude of experiences, including live music, amazing performances, awesome interactive fun, such as Dr. Zoolittle’s Tricks or Treats, hosted by the Zoo’s zany maestro of fun. This year, Squash, Gourdon and Alicia, three oversized neon pumpkins performed by The GLOW-Go’s, will put a smile on everyone’s faces as they banter, tell jokes and sing. The Skeleton Band and San Diego Zoo Rock Radio 201.8 will fill the night air with seasonal hits. Eerie organist Dusty Keys is set to enchant guests with ghostly tunes, while the Spooky Revue and the Wildlife Explorers Basecamp spider will show off their kooky acrobatic skills. In addition, at the much-loved Bubble Dance Party, everyone can dance the night away among billions of bubbles as a DJ plays the hits. Guests also can meet and greet the Zoo’s Boo Crew and find delicious seasonal treats at eateries throughout the Zoo.

                  During the day, Zoo guests also have the opportunity to venture through the 3.2-acre state-of-the-art, multi-ecosystem experience, Denny Sanford Wildlife Explorers Basecamp. Wildlife Explorers Basecamp provides guests of all ages with an up-close look at nature and offers fresh, high-tech interactive opportunities that nurture empathy for wildlife. Inside Wildlife Explorers Basecamp, Zoo guests will encounter distinct ecosystems—Rainforest, Wild Woods, Marsh Meadows and Desert Dunes—and visit with a wide variety of fascinating species. Guests will get the chance to engage on a deeper level by utilizing full sensory and multifaceted elements, including “parallel play” opportunities —from climbing and crawling around a massive tree house to exploring amazing waterplay elements, experiencing interactive touchscreen games, using microscopes to reveal natural wonders, and discovering specialized animation that utilizes artificial-intelligence (AI), dynamic lighting and whole-room scented environments. Autumn Festival

                  The San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Autumn Festival is back, following a very successful debut last year. Safari Park guests are invited each weekend—Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 8–30—to celebrate the season by enjoying special fall-themed entertainment and culinary comforts. This year, guests will have the opportunity to experience the antics of the Safari Park’s Not-so-Scary

 Scarecrows . These happy-go-lucky characters will amaze and amuse guests by showing off their skills at juggling and stilt jumping. They will help young kids navigate the A-MAZE-ing Autumn Adventure maze and host the Autumn Festival Jamboree country dance party. The Barn Owls are back, and will keep everyone entertained with their toe-tapping bluegrass style. Safari Parker, explorer and adventurer extraordinaire, will share fascinating and educational insights about the importance of wildlife to our ecosystem, including tips on how we can help support and protect habitats before they disappear. Each night, visitors can witness the beautiful sight of custom lanterns during the Lantern Ceremony, including a pre-show visit by scarecrows. And at the Safari Park’s many restaurants, guests will discover remarkable tastes of autumn, with everything from pumpkin-spiced coffee and apple pie to pumpkin-flavored beer and apple cider.

                  Apart from the amazing Autumn Festival activities, guests can take part in a variety of thrilling Safaris, such as flying by zip line over expansive wildlife habitats on Flightline Safari, stepping aboard a caravan truck for a trip through the Safari Park’s African savanna during a Wildlife Safari, or spending an amazing night under the stars during a Roar and Snore sleepover experience.

                  HalGLOWeen festivities take place only at the Zoo, and Autumn Festival takes place only at the Saf ari Park. Both experiences are free with paid admission or membership. Located in the centre of the park, our undercover pumpkin patch is back for another year.  Our friendly farmer will be there to help you pick the perfect pumpkin for your family.

Follow the clues to find all the letters on our Halloween-themed Trick or Treat Trail. Unscramble the letters to make the correct word and you could be in with a chance of winning an awesome prize.

Giant hay bale spiders

Look out for our giant hay bale spiders scattered across the park!  There are lots of different characters, how many can you find?

Marshmallows fire pits

Get cosy around our fire-pits and toast some giant marshmallows.  How do you like yours, lightly toasted or full-on burnt?  Let the great marshmallow debate commence!

Meet the animals

Our Safari park is open as normal, so all our animals will still be there for you to visit.  With a beautiful backdrop of multi-coloured leaves, the photo opportunities are better than ever!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Oogie Boogie Bash return to Disney parks in August

Halloween may not be until the fall, but at Disney theme parks , the spooky season starts in August.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is coming back to Walt Disney World and Oogie Boogie Bash – and A Disney Halloween Party will return to Disneyland Resort. The after-hours events – which are not included in regular theme park admission – will take place on select dates at Magic Kingdom and Disney California Adventure Park from August through October.

Kids and grown-ups alike can see their favorite characters dressed up, don costumes of their own and go trick-or-treating in the parks. Here’s what to expect this year:

When is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024?

The celebration will run from 7 p.m. to midnight on the following dates:

◾ Aug. 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30

◾ Sept. 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29

◾ Oct. 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31

Tickets go on sale May 15, but guests staying at select hotels can get advance access beginning on Wednesday (a full list is available on Walt Disney World’s website ).

What’s new at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

This year Disney Parks will introduce a new DescenDANCE Party inspired by the film “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” coming to Disney+ in July. The rave will take place at Tomorrowland's Rockettower Plaza Stage.

Mickey’s party will also feature other firsts, including a debut appearance from Bruno Madrigal. “For the first time during the party, you can meet the clairvoyant character from ‘Encanto’ alongside Mirabel at their Casita in Fairytale Garden,” Disney Parks said in a blog post .

There will also be more villain sightings, new neon spiderweb-themed looks for Mickey and Minnie and an earlier start time for Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade – 8:15 p.m., an hour earlier than past years – allowing younger guests to attend before bedtime. There will be plenty of familiar programming, too, including Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage production and more.

Reservations for Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party – which offers the chance to watch fireworks from Tomorrowland Terrace or Plaza Garden – will be available on June 7.

How much does Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party cost?

Tickets range from $119 to $199 per ticket – before tax – depending on the date. Disney Vacation Club members and annual pass holders can get a $10 discount on each ticket for August and September dates.

Ticketholders can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m. and do not need a separate day theme park ticket or reservation.

Winston's Wildlife Safari celebrating Halloween with special events

WINSTON, Ore. — Wildlife Safari has been hosting a variety of events this month to not only bring awareness to their animals but to bring the community closer together.

Boos and Brews was their most recent event bringing in older audiences to experience a spooky atmosphere with their wildlife.

Now, the Safari is setting up for their Zoobilee event targeting younger audiences for a night of animal surprises and trick-or-treating.

According to Village Supervisor Rachael Mohlman, this gives them a chance to show off the Safari's animals and how they're taken care of.

"This year, we're going to have a bigger section of our Asia open as well, and then the games that we will be providing with our education department are going to be brand new, we didn't have those last year and it will be a lot of fun," said Mohlman.

Families can experience games, activities, education booths, and special Halloween themed animal enrichment activities.

This year's Zoobilee takes place on October 20 and 21, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The Zoo in Forest Park's annual Spooky Safari is Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dress in costume and enjoy family-friendly Halloween fun complete with a trick-or-treat trail for kids ages 0-12*, on-site activities, crafts, music from DJ Jonny Taylor, read-alongs and appearances from some special friends! The event will also feature a virtual costume contest and discounts in our gift shop. 

*Children under one who wish to collect goodies along the trick-or-treat trail must have a pre-purchased ticket. Children under one who do not want to participate in the stations are free and do not need a ticket to attend the event. Tickets go off sale on Oct. 26 or when all tickets have been sold.

THE TICKETS - Tickets are off sale

A pre-purchased, timed ticket is required to attend. No tickets will be sold at the gate on the day of the event. Participation in the Trick-or-Treat Trail is for children 0-12 with a child ticket. Guests under the age of one are free to enter unless they wish to collect goodies, in which case they must have a ticket. Tickets are sold in 30-minute increments. We ask guests to arrive within a 15-minute window of their ticket time. All guests with a ticket will be allowed to enter until 3 p.m., but may need to wait for scheduled guests to enter first. No entry will be allowed after 3 p.m. Tikets go off sale on Oct. 26 or when all tickets have been sold. Member Ticket Prices Adult: $8 Child (ages 1-12): $4 Child under one NOT participating in the Trick-or-Treat Trail: FREE Senior/Military (62+ or military with proper ID): $6

THE COSTUME CONTEST:

Come in costume for a chance to win prizes in our Virtual Costume Contest! It's easy to enter - just snap a photo while at the event and post it in the comments of our Virtual Costume Contest Post on our Facebook page (@TheZOOinForestPark). A panel of judges from The Zoo in Forest Park will select a winner for Funniest, Most Creative and Best Group Costume. Prizes will be awarded to each winner!

The Spooky Pumpkin Hunt

Twelve felt pumpkins have been hidden around The Zoo in various enclosures and it's up to you to find them! A pumpkin on an animal's informational sign will indicate that one of the pumpkins is inside that enclosure. Snap a photo of three pumpkins and submit them via the Google Form for a chance to win a prize.

The Goblin grain cones:

Interested in feeding our little goat goblins? Don't forget to add grain cones to your purchase when buying your tickets! Grain cones are restricted to 200 total and can only be purchased online with your tickets. (Limit two per family). Grain cones are sold on a first-come, first-purchased basis and cannot be purchased at The Zoo the day of the event; this is to prevent our animals from overeating. We thank you for understanding.

REFUND AND RAIN DATE POLICY:

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be offered.

We do ask you to please stay home in the event of an illness. In the event of an illness, a Zoo voucher for the amount paid will be issued to the buyer.  This event is rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or heavy rain on Saturday, October 28, the event will be moved to the rain date of Sunday, October 29. All tickets will be moved to the same time slot on Sunday. *** By purchasing tickets to this event you acknowledge the possibility of an October 29th event in the case of severe weather or heavy rains and that no refunds will be offered if the rain date is utilized.***

PARKING your broomstick:

The City of Springfield charges a fee of $3/in-state and $5/out-of-state plates CASH ONLY to enter the park. This fee is not managed or collected by The Zoo and is not covered by the price of your ticket. There is no fee to enter the park on bike or foot.

On this 90-minute safari, you’ll venture into habitats representing Africa and/or Asia for up-close views of giraffes, rhinos, and many other species. Enjoy amazing photo opportunities while learning about how caring for wildlife here helps us to conserve wildlife around the world.

Wildlife Safari Deluxe Twilight

• $142 & up per person
• Select weekends and holidays

This 90-minute adventure takes you into the Safari Park’s expansive savanna habitat during the twilight hours.  Your expert guide will share stories and insights while you experience this exclusive opportunity to be the only ones in the savanna at twilight. The tour also includes a stop to visit some of our nocturnal wildlife that can only be seen at dusk.

Each tour visits one habitat representing areas of Africa. Tour routes vary; you may have the opportunity to view species of giraffe, rhinos, antelope, gazelle, cattle, birds, and more.

The tour also includes a stop to visit one of our nocturnal species.

Tour spend approximately 70 minutes in the savanna habitat with approximately 10 minutes’ travel time at the start and end of the tour.

Feeding and/or touching of wildlife is not offered or permitted.

Travel deep into the heart of the Safari Park on an open-air truck to learn how San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance helps wildlife and ecosystems thrive, from North America’s Southwest to the African savanna. Venture into the 900-acre Biodiversity Reserve , where conservation scientists study and protect the coastal sage scrub habitat and the many species that call it home. Next, enter an expansive African savanna habitat for unique glimpses of giraffes and other amazing wildlife.

5 New Surprises Coming to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

No tricks here, because we’re doling out five new treats — plus returning favorites — for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024! It’s time to kick off the festivities with a Halfway to Halloween celebration, and we’re conjuring up more spooky spectacles at this separately-ticketed event, which takes place on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort , starting Aug. 9!

It’s never too early to start planning for Halloween, so if you’re already in the mood for the spine-chilling season, find out what’s in store for 2024. Get your costumes and candy bags ready, it’s go time for #HalfwayToHalloween! 

1. New costumes for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse

Get ready to strike a scary pose! Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will greet guests during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in their brand-new neon spiderweb attire. 

2. More Villains sightings

From the moment Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins and throughout Magic Kingdom you’ll be able to spot your favorite sinister villains and ghoulish foes! Who knows, you might even get to take a selfie with them. 

3. Bust a move during the DescenDANCE Party

Get ready to let loose and show off your best villain DescenDANCE Party, taking place at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. This new rave is inspired by the upcoming Disney Original Movie “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” premiering on Disney+ on July 12, so trust me when I tell you this is a date you don’t want to be late for. 

4. Bruno Madrigal joins the fun

You’re going to want to talk about this. Because yes, we’re talking about Bruno. For the first time during the party, you can meet the clairvoyant character from “Encanto” alongside Mirabel at their Casita in Fairytale Garden. 

5. New earlier start time for “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade”!

This year, the fan-favorite parade will take place a full hour earlier, 8:15pm to be exact – perfect for those guests attending with little ones who want to enjoy the spooky fun before it’s bedtime.

That’s everything that’s brand new, but what about what’s back for more tricks (and treats) this year? Returning favorites include “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” fireworks show, hosted by Jack Skellington, the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” stage show, and trick-or-treating throughout the park. In addition, dance the night away at the and enjoy popular attractions with special Halloween twists, including Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Space Mountain, and Mad Tea Party. Get ready to fill your Halloween basket with M&M’S, SKITTLES, SNICKERS and more available at various trick-or-treating locations. And don’t forget to stock up on marvelous event-exclusive merchandise!

If you’ve got a frightening sweet tooth, take a bite out of Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party, which includes fireworks viewing from Plaza Garden or Tomorrowland Terrace. Reservations for this experience open on June 7.

This year’s separately ticketed event will kick off Aug. 9 and will take place on select nights through Oct. 31 at Disney World. Tickets go on sale for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green on May 8. For all other guests, tickets will go on sale May 15.

Will their be mickey spooky popcorn bucket. And will only one family get 1 buck hit cause. I want to be able to get a bucket this time because I’m not paying triple price on EBAY.

I am delighted to finally have the party dates so that we can make plans! However, please give us LESS spicy menu items for the Halloween party. In recent years the food options, both sweet and savory, are predominately spicy. I’m not sure why lately Disney food and beverage has decided that Halloween somehow equals spicy. It does not. Here’s the thing, most kids and many adults simply will not eat spicy foods. That makes it very difficult when the food and beverage options are already so limited during a party event to begin with. In addition, we would like to see at least one Haunted Mansion themed party exclusive treat. Last year there were none whatsoever. As Magic Kingdom is the only place in the US where one can have the classic Haunted Mansion attraction experience during the spooky season, we should celebrate that. 👻👻👻

What is the exact definition of “select Disney World Resort Hotels” ????? What is the big secret????

Does Port Orleans French Qaurter qualify as a select resort?????

Any word on if Tron will be virtual queue or standby during the party this year?

Our payment plans make it easy for you to control your membership. You can pay the full year in advance, or spread the cost of your membership over 12 months by paying via Direct Debit! This means you can become a Knowsley Safari member for as little as £4.25 a month - it couldn't be easier!

Direct Debits can now be set up online using the button below! If you have any questions please call the team on 0151 430 9009.

Direct debit memberships are available for a minimum of 12 months and renew automatically unless you cancel after the initial 12-month period. When setting up a Direct Debit Membership on the website a booking fee of £10.00 is payable per membership set up.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 20% OFF

When it's time to renew your membership, you will receive a 20% discount if you pay for the next year in full and renew within 1 month either side of your expiry date. This renewal discount isn't available for memberships paid by direct debit.

*Opening times

We are open every day from February half-term until September. From Monday 18th September we are open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. We are open over the Christmas Holidays except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Knowsley Safari Park 1 Free Adult with Paying Child Mother's Day Weekend

This Mother's Day weekend at Knowsley Safari Park, one adult per car goes free with a paying child ticket.

On Saturday 9th March and Sunday 10th March 2024, we’re celebrating Mother’s Day with one adult in each car going FREE with a full-paying child.

This year we’ve celebrated lots of new animal births and we’re so fortunate to have a front-row seat to see their mothers do a fabulous job in bringing them up - from forest buffalo to yak, roan to eland!

Book online and the discount will apply. One child and one adult can go for £19.50 instead of the usual price of £42 on either Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th of March.

One adult goes free alongside one full-paying child. (Under 3s or essential companion ticket not included).

Offer is valid for one free adult per car.
