Skyrim Special Edition: 20 Best Looking Weapon Mods
17 mods that turn skyrim into a survival game, 24 things we wish we knew before playing skyrim for the first time, key takeaways.
- Skyrim 's modding community has greatly enhanced the vampire gameplay experience, adding customizable armor, improved appearance, and the ability to be both a vampire and a werewolf simultaneously.
- Mods like Lustmord Vampire Armor and BVFE - Better Vampire Fangs And Eyes offer new and immersive options for vampire players, making the game feel less repetitive.
- Overhauls like Belua Sanguinare Revisited and Sacrosanct provide a more challenging and lore-accurate vampire experience, allowing players to upgrade their vampire skills and abilities.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim owes a great deal to its thriving modding community, as while the game already has a ton of content and wide variety of ways to play, the possibilities with mods are now almost endless. These mods can do anything from small tweaks to players' quality of life to massive additions of areas or bosses, and some also focus on improving some of the parts of the Skyrim experience that feel lacking in the vanilla game.
Skyrim: The 22 Best Graphics Mods You Need To Install
If you're looking to make Skyrim look as beautiful as possible, these are the best graphics mods to install.
One of these aspects is vampirism , as, although it is slightly more fleshed out in the gameplay than lycanthropy, it does feel somewhat incomplete, particularly for players interested in further pursuing the way of life. Here are some of the best mods to improve gameplay for vampires , including some that will overhaul the experience completely and make it a very desirable playstyle.
Updated on January 10, 2024, by Jake Fillery: The lands of Tamriel can be enthralled to vampiric rule with the best vampire mods in Skyrim. Tamriel won't know that monsters of the night and bloodsuckers galore will be taking over their snowy neighborhoods, with these enhanced mods that add to the somewhat underwhelming gameplay of becoming a vampire in Skyrim. Whilst the feature is a fun addition, it did not reach its true potential until the talented modding community came to the scene and made some Skyrim vampire mods to further enhance this sinister way of play.
12 Lustmord Vampire Armor
Downloads: 893,863.
- Mod Creator: AmethystDeceiver
To be a vampire is often to indulge in the finer things in life, and to see one's self as above the rest. To most vampires, humans are thrall, mere slaves to feed the superior vampire complex. What better way to make that a reality than by wearing the Lustmord Vampire Armor? This mod will add a customizable armor system with unique features and parts, although players will be required to purchase or download the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim .
This customizable set of armor fits well with Skyrim 's aesthetic, whilst also introducing something new. That perfect blend of styles and materials that could be from outside Tamriel, helps to add more immersive lore into the mod, as players embark on their thrilling vampire adventure into the night, along with some new clothes.
11 BVFE - Better Vampire Fangs And Eyes
Downloads: 1,033,367.
- Mod Creator: Aipex 8
Part of the charm of being a vampire isn't just drinking blood, killing whoever they want, and turning into a bat to lurk in the night. Much of that charm comes from the fact that the appearance of a vampire is forever altered in both the eyes and the teeth, and that's something that the Better Vampire Fangs and Eyes mod does rather well, with new textures and altered fangs to make that vampire dream or nightmare, become a reality.
Enemies and players will be able to access shorter and more prominent fangs, as well as new eye textures that feature glowing and non-glowing appearances. These custom options from fangs to eyes help to make the game feel like the character designs are less copy-and-paste, and the vampires that appear randomly will seem more intimidating than ever before.
10 True Hybrid - Tainted Blood Of The Dragonborn - Werewolf and Vampire Hybrid
Downloads: 212,477.
- Mod Creator: Shade
One key aspect that has frustrated players looking for unique ways to progress through Skyrim is the fact that it is impossible to be both a vampire and a werewolf at the same time. True Hybrid is a simple mod that fixes this, allowing players to become both simultaneously.
Skyrim: Best Followers In The Game, Ranked
As Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is massive, followers are available to keep the Dragonborn company, but which ones are the best?
The key fix with this mod is that it saves the tiring process of having to contract either disease more than once to switch between the two, which makes either process a great deal more enjoyable. It won't combine the two abilities as such, so players will still have to choose between them, but this choice is no longer overshadowed by the ring involved with switching to vanilla.
9 Vampire No Sun Damage - Cloaks Helmets And Hoods
Downloads: 169,522.
- Mod Creator: Hobbs
Immersive mods never go amiss, particularly with Vampirism, and Vampire No Sun Damage does precisely that. The mod makes vampires take less sun damage when wearing hoods or helmets, and any extra gear will modify the damage taken, which makes the concept feel much less arbitrary and annoying while playing this style.
It's not overpowered as a mod though, as not all sun damage is removed, so it will still have to be taken into consideration. All cloaks and similar headgear are included, so the game will feel a lot more realistic while playing as a vampire.
8 Bat Travel Vampire Power
Downloads: 35,386.
- Mod Creator: Didymus Ei
Bat Travel Vampire Power is another simple upgrade mod to the vampire experience in Skyrim , and does exactly what it says on the tin. Players can transform into a swarm of bats to fast travel between any major hold or major village on the map.
Even dedicated Skyrim fans may want to add more interest to their arsenal of swords and bows. Look no further for the best weapon mods available.
While this won't provide any major upgrade to gameplay as a vampire, it's a great way to make the experience feel more supernatural and fulfill any vampire fantasies that players have. Players will need Vampire Lord Blood and to be in human form to use it.
7 DVA Dynamic Vampire Appearance
Downloads: 496,977.
- Mod Creator: Aipex8 and TaikoDragon
Vampirism in Skyrim is arguably in desperate need of a visual overhaul, and DVA Dynamic Vampire Appearance does exactly that, in spectacular fashion. The mod visually represents the different stages of vampirism, making progressing through feel much more rewarding as the appearance of the character improves considerably.
It also makes the appearance of vampires change based on the action they're performing, such as glowing eyes in combat or visible fangs after feeding, which makes being a vampire feel much more immersive. This is a perfect mod to install alongside other vampire gameplay upgrades, as few mods look this good.
6 Belua Sanguinare Revisited - Dynamic Vampires
Downloads: 178,094.
- Mod Creator: MofoMojo and Jakisthe
The first full overhaul on this list is Belua Sanguinare Revisited , which touches on and improves just about every aspect of Vampirism available in vanilla Skyrim . The fear and feed systems are the highlight of what this mod upgrades, bringing both in line with the more fleshed-out aspects of gameplay.
The mod focuses on being lore accurate, doing an excellent job of fusing Elder Scrolls lore with the established vampire lore, which is a treat for players even vaguely familiar with either. It won't give players any overpowered abilities and aims to keep the whole experience grounded, which certainly does not go amiss.
5 Better Vampire NPCs 2.0
Downloads: 320,449.
- Mod Creator: Brehanin2
Better Vampire NPCs aims to provide exactly what the name suggests and is a fairly major overhaul in itself but to all characters except the player. The centerpiece is that Vampires can now be different classes in the game, with different weapons, armor, and attack styles, giving players a lot more challenge and variety in tackling them.
While Skyrim is one of the best open-world games ever, its survival aspects can be too easy. These cool mods make things like disease more realistic.
Vampires will now spawn scaled to the player's level and have much more unpredictable AI, as well as new attack patterns and abilities, all of which will make dealing with them and their nests a much more dynamic and challenging undertaking. Like other mods, it also adds a ton of new armor and weapons that can be looted from Vampires, and improved by the player.
4 Royal Bloodline
Downloads: 808,841.
- Mod Creator: xyks and Tx12001
Offering some major changes in some key aspects of vampire gameplay, the focus of Royal Bloodline is adding an entirely new skill tree for vampires, allowing players to upgrade most aspects of the character, from magic potency to flight, and just about everything in between.
It also adds a major upgrade to the Vampire Lord armor and to the player's room in Castle Volkihar, so that living the life of the Vampire Lord is a much more rewarding and aesthetically pleasing experience all around.
3 Sacrosanct
Downloads: 2,191,109.
- Mod Creator: Enai Siaion
Sacrosanct completely overhauls the gameplay for Vampires and Vampire Lords, allowing players to become stronger by ranking up and by feeding, to create a much more engaging experience when playing almost solely as a vampire. It's one of the more lightweight overhauls but accomplishes everything it sets out to do.
Skyrim may be an old game now, but it's still worth experiencing. Here's what gamers need to know before playing for the first time.
Like most vampiric overhauls, this mod will certainly not make life easier for the Dragonborn, and being a vampire will be a curse to be fought off. Staying well-fed and in good health will be crucial to stay in control, so Sacrosanct is the perfect mod for players looking for a real challenge in their journey through Tamriel.
2 Better Vampires
Downloads: 2,527,295.
- Mod Creator: Brehanin
The most customizable vampire overhaul available is Better Vampires, which improves the experience of vampire gameplay but also allows players to choose exactly how much of a challenge they want, and how much they want to change from the vanilla Skyrim gameplay. It can make playing as a vampire feel like an entirely new game.
The beauty of this mod is that pretty much every new feature added or changed can be altered to the player's satisfaction, allowing effects to be buffed, nerfed, or removed completely. This mod can either make the Dragonborn completely unstoppable in their new life or make vampirism a major inconvenience, depending on preference.
1 Vampiric Thirst Reborn
Downloads: 5,268.
- Mod Creator: deleted78906098
Vampiric Thirst Reborn tops this list in no small part due to its seamless integration of vastly improved vampire gameplay into the existing class system and world of Skyrim . It can be deeply personalized depending on how much of a challenge players are looking for, but in any case, will fit realistic vampiric experiences very well into the vanilla progression.
Being able to turn NPCs into vampires is also a very nice addition, adding to the realism, and adding abilities that will make some parts of playing easier, and some much harder, allowing the whole experience to feel a great deal more grounded in reality. Sadly, a lack of updates to this mod has seen it fly under the radar, and it seems that the original creator has since deleted their account.

The Best Skyrim Vampire Mods To Spice Up Your Experience
September 20, 2020 by Ordinary Gaming
You’ve gotta hand it to the old Bethesda. They don’t joke around when it comes to DLCs.
Nearly every franchise they’ve developed or published has had must-have DLCs. This, of course, includes, The Elder Scrolls, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim arguably getting the most expansive DLCs of any game of its generation.
Dawnguard, in particular, was well-loved on how it did vampires justice within The Elder Scrolls mythos.
Unfortunately, as good as Bethesda are when it comes to DLCs, you could argue that it’s player base are better when it comes to mods.
The entire modding community of Skyrim is still well alive and kicking today, nearly a full decade ever since the game first released. This means that there’s a wide assortment of mods out there for every taste and inclination, including those who feel like Dawnguard just didn’t have enough for a “Vampire” playthrough of Skyrim.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to round up some of Skyrim’s best vampire mods .
Complete your bloodsucking vampire experience and show everyone what a Vampire-Dragon hybrid can do!
1. Castle Volkihar
Not everyone likes to build fortresses. Some are more satisfied conquering them.
If that’s true for you, then Castle Volkihar should make for the ideal home for your vampire lord dreams.
Castle Volkihar is a mod that gives you a grand castle to work with. It’s a true home fitting for the lord of the vampires. It comes complete with everything from turrets and dungeons, as well as long and winding corridors. It’s even got its own questline, just in case you’re in the mood for some conquering, as mentioned earlier.
The story of the mod is set following the events of Dawnguard where you take Auriel’s Bow to defeat the occupying army to free the coven locked away deep inside the castle’s crypt.
Once you’re finished with that, the castle is all yours for the taking.
2. The Evil Mansion
A lore-friendly reimagining of the iconic zombie-infested mansion from the first Resident Evil game, The Evil Mansion is a mod that is equal parts scary and intriguing.
If you’re up for a scare, then we definitely recommend installing this for the kicks.
Of course, if you’re going to live up to your full vampire potential, then the mod is all the more recommended, especially if long and winding castles aren’t your thing.
Filled with all sorts of grotesque creatures, The Evil Mansion is yours to keep once you’ve gotten rid of all of its previous undead inhabitants.
3. Enhanced Blood
There are a lot of things missing from Skyrim that you’ll only notice after a couple of playthroughs.
One of the few things that stands out even on your first playthrough though is, for a game that’s supposedly so violent, drawing blood feels like you’re just breaking open a can of tomato paste.
Seriously. Have a look the next time you make an enemy bleed.
The default blood textures definitely feel less like blood and more like fake blood, which, as any competent vampire knows, will just not do, which is why we recommend installing the Enhanced Blood mod so you can replace whatever puree Bethesda used as a model with something that actually looks scrumptious and palatable.
4. Vampire No Sun Damage
In the name of fairness, the attribute boosts that you get from a vampire in Skyrim comes the expense of not being able to go out in the sun.
However, one thing that breaks away from this immersive feature is the fact that you can’t exactly cover yourself for protection from the sun, which is an actual thing if you’ve been watching your movies.
Luckily, the Vampire No Sun Damage fixes that.
With this mod, covering yourself up when out in the sun means that you’re less vulnerable to the harmful effects of sunlight.
Take note: we said less vulnerable.
What this means is that, while you do take less damage, the damage is not totally removed.
5. Belua Sanguinaire Revisited
One of the most comprehensive vampire mods for Skyrim, Belua Sanguinaire Revisited makes players feel like an actual vampire.
In fact, one could argue that this mod is better than Dawnguard, and it’s easy to see why.
Once installed, the mod changes the base game entirely, making it revolve around how you want your character to move and act like when he or she is in a vampiric state.
Installing this mod makes playing a vampire in Skyrim feel more like how it should.
6. Better Vampire Fangs And Eyes
For better immersion in your vampire Skyrim playthrough, this is a must-have mod.
Skyrim’s vampires admittedly look scary at first, but the aesthetics start to grow old rather quickly. This is why we recommend making your character and other vampires look and feel more like a vampire with this mod.
Basically, what this mod changes is the fangs and the eyes.
By making the fans look more natural and adding them to female vampires, as well as improving the shape of the faces and the eyes, your character and other vampires will look so much better.
7. Dynamic Vampire Appearance
Just as the name suggests, the Dynamic Vampire Appearance mod allows you to change how your vampire looks depending on what you’re doing.
Case in point, sucking blood feels a lot more satisfying when you can actually see blood dripping out of the mouth of your character after.
Your character’s eyes will glow and turn yellow too if you use the Night Vision skill.
Basically, with this mod installed, your face will reflect what stage your character is in vampirism, creating a more realistic look.
8. Bat Travel Vampire
What kind of self-respecting vampire lord would you be if you didn’t have the power to transform into a swarm of bats?
The Bat Travel Vampire is a mod that lets you travel to other areas by transforming into a swarm of bats.
Like, you know, how vampires used to do it in the old days.
Sure, it’s a lot more cartoonish and not as dark as the other mods on our list, but it’s an excellent addition that helps add a bit more fun to your gameplay.
Besides, in case you didn’t like it, you can always disable or uninstall the mod.
9. Predator Vision
Make no mistake. Vampires are powerful in Skyrim.
It’s just that, compared to the other transformations, they don’t feel nearly as powerful and as overpowered.
That’s a shame.
Adding the Predator Vision mod helps tilt things towards your favor by letting you access improved vision once the skill is activated, allowing you to hunt and see much more clearly like a true predator would.
As an added bonus, werewolves and the khajiit can use the ability as well.
10. Royal Bloodline
Being a Vampire Lord is great, except, the feeling of awesomeness wears out quite easily.
The fact is, as menacing as being a Vampire Lord is in Skyrim, you don’t really get much in the way in terms of having an actual skillset to back-up your new transformation.
All you do is, essentially, look scary.
That’s it, and unfortunately, that’s not enough for an immersive vampire Skyrim playthrough.
Thankfully, we have the Royal Bloodline mod.
By installing this mod, you’ll get an entirely new skill tree exclusive only to Vampire Lords that lets you feel more like the lord of vampires.
At higher difficulties, the benefit of being a Vampire Lord with the Royal Bloodline mod really kicks in. This is because of your newly found abilities, such as the ability to summon a Gargoyle Goliath, Evolved Wings that lets your character hover off of the ground, a skill that literally lets you call for an Eclipse, and so much more.
There you have it, Skyrim’s best vampire mods.
If this is your first time modding, you don’t have a lot to worry about. The modding tools available for Skyrim, especially on PC, makes it easy to modify your game and not corrupt your save file or progress in the process.
Hopefully, after you’re done with your vampire escapades, you’ll start to explore the other mods that Skyrim has available.
You’ll be surprised as to what you can do and what you can change once you go down that rabbit hole.
Of course, it should go without saying, but, you should really back-up your save file.
While the best vampire mods in Skyrim are rather safe, you don’t really want to take your chances, especially if you’re already quite deep into your playthrough before you decided to go vampire and all.
Better yet, we do recommend starting a new game and focusing solely on playing as a vampire.
This way, your playthrough becomes even more immersive, and you don’t have to worry about bricking your save file as much.

10 Best Skyrim Vampire Mods For Blood-Sucking Fun
Dawnguard truly did justice for vampires in the TES series.
But if there’s one thing we can all agree on, I hope it’s that players can never have enough when it comes to additions. Especially TES fans.
If you’re still playing Skyrim to this day, that means you’re one of those hardcore fans that will probably get the TES VI pre-order as soon as you can.
It’s likely you’re still trying different Skyrim playthroughs to this day, and one that every player seems to love is the true vampire playthrough.
The main problem is that vampires do need some tweaks – even if you have Dawnguard installed.
So I’ve compiled a list of mods that will enhance your vampire experience in Skyrim and take it to the next level. Enjoy them all and see what your vampire Dragonborn is capable of!
10. Vampire No Sun Damage
Check Out This Mod
What’s what, you say immersive mods are your thing? Then check this one out for sure.
It basically lets you take less damage under the sun when you’re wearing hoods or helmets, as well as any protective gear that might keep your skin from directly interacting with sunlight.
It’s not OP either, as not all damage is removed.
However you do take less damage to all your attributes when using extra gear!
9. Belua Sanguinare Revisited
BSR is the first total overhaul for vampires on my list. And it’s one that you’ll want to try out even if you have Danwguard installed.
This mod has been highly touted as the best vampire mod in Skyrim, and it remains such for many users around the world.
It tweaks basically everything from the base game, including the fear and feed systems.
The mod also gives you access to customization tools of your own, so you can dictate how your character looks and acts while in a vampiric state.
Scare people and enjoy an immersive progression system that puts Skyrim’s own vampirism features to shame.
8. Bat Travel Vampire
Now this mod allows you to transform into a swarm of bats to travel quicker, much as vampires did in traditional films and cartoons.
And trust me, it’s fun.
It looks a bit cartoonish and not as serious as other mods, but it’s still quite a cool addition to have in the game. Definitely worth at least trying(you can always uninstall, right?)
7. Lustmord Vampire Armor
One thing that I couldn’t miss on my list is a proper vampire armor to wear on female characters.
Female vampires are some of the most popular characters in Skyrim (shocking, I know).
And using the Lustmord Vampire Armor is going to take your experience to the next level.
The set itself is as detailed as I’ve never seen, with some exclusive features that make it one of the absolute best armor mods from the entire community.
And it has some additional surprises that you might want to check out – including explosive crossbow bolts!
6. Dynamic Vampire Appearance
This is a must-have mod if you’re looking for immersion as a vampire.
It changes the way the face of your vampire looks depending on which vampirical actions they’re performing.
Have you just sucked the blood out of an innocent?
Watch the blood drip out of your vampire’s mouth for a while after feeding.
Are you using the vampire night vision skill?
Then watch how your eyes turn yellow and glow like never before.
As if that wasn’t enough, your face will also change as you advance through the various stages of vampirism. Each stage has its own custom look, adding way more realism than you’d probably ever want to ask for. And it’s fantastic.
5. Royal Bloodline – Vampire Lord Perk Tree
The Vampire Lord in Dawnguard is easily one of the best additions ever made for the game.
Turning into a Lord is absolutely awesome, and fear-inducing for all sorts of foes. But the skill tree does leave a bit to be desired.
This mod aims to change that by creating a new skill tree for Vampire Lords that helps to enhance the difficulty of the game. Just a bit.
It also gives the game some extra tweaks to further improve vampirism.
4. Predator Vision
This aims to incorporate the vision that Predator has in the movies into Skyrim.
It does so brilliantly. Not to mention that vampires, werewolves, and Khajit will be able to use it.
Basically, your character will be able to see clearly at night when you activate this skill, which will enable you to hunt like a proper night-dweller.
This skill is a great complementary to for the classic vampire vision that Skyrim comes with.
3. Better Vampires Fangs
This is also one that you’ll want to install if you’re after deep immersion.
I suggest you give it a go alongside the Dynamic Vampire Appearance mod, as they both create a much better image of vampires than what Skyrim and Dawnguard have managed to do.
This one makes vampire fangs look far more natural by reducing their length and adding them to female vampires as well.
The eyes and shape of their faces will also look much better with this mod installed – give it a go!
2. Sacrosanct – Vampires of Skyrim
If you thought that the other vampirism overhaul on my list was good, you’ll want to check this one out.
Sacrosanct completely transforms vampirism into something much better by adding new perks, abilities, a new skill tree, and much more.
It’s hard to list everything so this is one of those mods you’ll want to install and play with for a bit to really see what it can do.
1. Better Vampires 8.4
Better Vampires takes the first spot on my list because it allows you to tweak vampirism to your liking. And it offers a lot of tweaking.
One of the reasons why many players don’t turn into vampires is because it makes you feel like you’re not in control most of the time. But this mod changes all of that.
You can choose how easy you want it to feel when you’re a vampire, or how difficult you want it to be. It’s all up to you.
Make it a challenging experience, keep it for a little while, or lower the vampirism difficulty and just slay everything. This is basically choose your own adventure, vampire Skyrim edition.

The Bat Travel Mod has been ported to SSE. I haven't seen any discussion on this. Its an awesome little quality of life mod for vampires that allow you to free fly as a swarm of bats.
