Chart Comparing 7 of the Best Cycling Jerseys

No. 1: pearl izumi select quest.

Pearl iZUMi Select Short Sleeve

The Pearl Izumi Select Quest Jersey is one of the cheapest garments you can buy that performs as a technical cycling jersey. It is high-tech , with great sweat wicking abilities and breathability. Pearl Izumi describe it as semi-form-fitting , which in reality translates into lightweight and comfortable, yet sporty. I don’t like the sausage wrapped in cellophane look, so this works well for me.

This cycling jersey has a UPF factor of 40+ , to protect your skin from the sun during long rides. In front it has a half-length zipper. It includes the standard three back pockets to carry your keys, snacks, and phone. The colors are good without being what I would call “over the top.” Personally, being an average cyclist, I never want to wear a jersey that makes it look as if I am pretending I just did the Tour de France last week (not that anyone would believe me!) But I do like bright colors, and this one is available in a screaming yellow. Plus, it has some reflective elements.

The Pearl Izumi Select Quest Cycling Jersey checks all the bases for what most people are looking for in a cycling jersey, which is why it is pretty much the best selling cycling jersey of all time . If you are looking for your first technical cycling jersey, you cannot really go wrong with this one. It would also make a great staple in almost any experienced cyclist’s wardrobe. Note: if you have a long torso, order up a size.

Related post: 7 of the best waterproof cycling jackets for men and women, no. 2: sugoi women’s rs pro jersey – stylish and functional.

This is one of Mrs. Average Joe Cyclist’s favorite women’s cycling jerseys. She likes it because it is not excessively form fitting. The Sugoi Women’s Jersey features light weight fabric and shorter sleeves. The styling is tapered, skimming the body. Because of the design, she likes it because it still looks good if she wants to stop for a snack or a glass of wine.  The design is slightly mandarin inspired with a small stand-up color, and the white piping on the neck and sleeves is really eye-catching.  Her only complaint is a minor one: that there is only one pocket and it is pretty small, but it also has an invisible zipper so that the lines are clean.

Sugoi Women's Jersey

In sum, this women’s cycling jersey is good value for money, fashionable and extremely durable. Maggie is pretty rough with her clothes, but this jersey has survived two seasons and is still going strong.

No. 3: castelli gabba – a great choice for a cycling jersey.

7 of the best short sleeved cycling jerseys for fall and early winter. Castelli Gabba 2 Cycling Jersey

The Castelli Gabba Cycling Jersey has an interesting history. Basically, it is designed for the shoulder seasons, with enhanced wind-stopping abilities. But wait – there’s more! It all started when pro cyclist Gabriel (Gabba) Rasch designed a jersey that could be paired with Castelli’s Nanoflex Arm Warmers. Castelli called it Gabba, and it was a great success, and so now we have the new, improved, Gabba.

This is a designed-for-simplicity garment made entirely of Windstopper X-Lite fabric, except for the stretchy Nano Flex inserts in the underarms. It rates exceptionally high for wind-proofness and breathability, and is water repellant as well. People tend to rave about this cycling jersey, finding it to be comfortable despite the race fit, and amazingly good at protecting you from wind and rain. Some cyclists have found they can manage shoulder season cycling without a jacket, which of course makes your life simpler and your ride faster!

No. 4: Louis Garneau Lemmon Vent – a Superior Choice

7 of the best short sleeved cycling jerseys for spring and winter. Louis Garneau Lemmon Vent Cycling Jersey

More affordable than many of the other technical warm weather cycling jerseys, the Louis Garneau Lemmon Vent cycling jersey offers superior keep-cool technology. Garneau describes the cut as Pro Fit, which means it is designed to adapt to the positions and movements of cycling, while not bunching or flapping – no matter what cycling position you choose.

This cycling jersey is known for its cooling abilities, thanks to Garneau’s Airfit polyester fabric and well-placed mesh panels. The Airfit fabric has woven cells on the inner face of the fabric, to improve airflow over your skin and provide channels to wick moisture away from your skin. Airfit is designed to not stick to your skin.

If you like to be super visible, the fluorescent orange color is super bright and noticeable. A UP factor of 50 gives great protection from the sun during long rides. In front it has a full-length zip. The Louis Garneau Lemmon Vent cycling jersey has the standard three rear pockets, plus an extra, angled pocket on the right for easy access. If you plan on speedy, athletic cycling without overheating, then this cycling jersey is for you.

No. 5: Castelli Aero Race 6.0 Cycling Jersey – an Aerodynamic Choice for a Cycling Jersey

7 of the best short sleeved cycling jerseys for fall and early winter. Cyclists who race will most likely want form-fitting cycling jerseys that do not flap in the wind

The Castelli Aero Race 6.0 Cycling Jersey is a serious garment for competitive cyclists, being very high-tech and aerodynamic, with excellent sweat wicking abilities and excellent breathability. It is described as a aero race fit, for which read tightly-form-fitting, so this jersey is perfect if you are a serious racer looking to shave off wind drag and improve your speed. Castelli has gone for what they call a virtually-second-skin fit. They don’t call it Aero Race for nothing. Castelli’s Aero Race fabric has long been admired for being one of the fastest cycling fabrics, and this year it has been improved further.

The front of the jersey is made of Castelli’s Velocity fabric, which is a featherweight textile made from closely woven fibers. Basically, the idea is to propel air over your shoulders and back. On the back, extremely breathable 3D mesh fabric wicks moisture away from your skin to evaporate.

In front, the Castelli Aero Race 5.1 Cycling Jersey has a full-length zipper. This cycling jersey has the standard three rear back pockets to carry your keys and racing fuel – but the pockets are held close to your body by a compressive mesh band. Plus, it comes in bright colors with some reflective elements. This jersey resoundingly checks all the bases for what competitive cyclists want in a cycling jersey. If you plan on achieving your best times ever this year, then this cycling jersey is for you.

No. 6: c astelli perfetto light cycling jersey – a combo cycling jersey.

7 of the best short sleeved cycling jerseys for fall and early winter. Castelli Perfetto Light Cycling jersey

The Castelli Perfetto Light cycling jersey is ideal for cycling, as it combines windstopping abilities in the front with water resistance on the back. Windstopper 150 panels on the front, shoulders, and sleeves will protect you from the wind, while water-resistant Nano Light panels on the back will protect you from light rain. This garment aims to be a combo cycling jersey/jacket, protecting you from wind and rain while allowing you to generate your own heat without getting soaked in your own sweat (thanks to good breathability).

Castelli describes the cut as form fitting. The jersey has some reflective elements and comes in bright colors for high visibility, such as the bright red in the picture. In front it has a full-length zipper. It has the standard three back pockets.

If you plan on cycling without the added bulk of a windshell or rain jacket, then the Castelli Perfetto Light cycling jersey could be the best choice for you.

No. 7: P earl Izumi Ride Select Tour – a Relaxed Choice for a Comfy Cycling Jersey!

7 of the best short sleeved cycling jerseys for fall and early winter. Pearl Izumi Ride Select Tour Cyclling Jersey

The Pearl Izumi Ride Select Tour cycling jersey features Select Transfer Fabric for maximum breathability. Pearl Izumi describes the cut as Relaxed Fit (two of my favorite words in cycling gear).

You can buy this cycling jersey in bright yellow with reflective elements if you value high visibility, or in more subdued colors if you don’t. In front it has a 13 inch half-length zip. It has the standard three back pockets.

If you are an average cyclist looking for a great cycling jersey with a relaxed fit (so you can stop at a coffee shop or restaurant without feeling too out of place), then the Pearl Izumi Ride Select Tour cycling jersey would be a good choice for you.

Technical Features of Great Jerseys

Why do you need a cycling jersey.

Yes, you could cycle in a five-dollar tee shirt. In fact, I did that all the time as a kid. But then, I was mainly just riding around the block, or down to the beach. Plus, my standards were incredibly low back then! You see, the problem with cotton is that it does not deal well with sweat. Cotton hangs onto sweat like white on rice, so that if you are doing a long bike ride, you will soon be soaking in your own sweat. Even if that does not bother you – if a breeze gets up (because of weather or because of your own speed) – your sweat will get cold, and then you will get cold. Your shirt will get heavy and may start to chafe. All of this is just not going to help you to cycle well.

Cycling jerseys are technical garments that use lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics to keep you cool, dry, and comfortable while cycling, so you can cycle further and faster.

What a Great Cycling Jersey Does

A great cycling jersey will wick sweat away from your skin to the outer side of the fabric, where it can evaporate. A cycling jersey made from a breathable fabric will keep you dry and cool no matter how long you ride, or how hot the weather is. This means that a good cycling jersey is an essential part of any cyclist’s wardrobe once the weather warms up.

Why Are Some Jerseys So Expensive?

Once you start looking for a cycling jersey, you will quickly realize there is a vast range of prices. Why? Well, the higher prices are usually for more technologically advanced fabrics that will wick sweat better and keep you cool and dry better.

Some cycling jersey are Lycra; other cycling jerseys are made from woven synthetics for a less shiny look. There are even some cycling jersey made from very lightweight wool blends.

Better features will also push up the price. For example, you can expect to pay more for better fit, styling, and features. Full-length zips work really well for cooling, but some cyclists don’t like them. A good compromise is to look for a cycling jersey with a half-length zipper, such as our no. 1 and no. 6 choices, the Pearl iZUMi Select Quest and the Pearl Izumi Ride Select Tour , respectively.

The classic design with three rear pockets is the most common for cycling jerseys, but some also have a small zipped pocket for valuables, or a side pocket to keep something handy, such as your phone.

Protection from UV Rays

It’s great to get a tan while cycling, but you do not want to be laying the groundwork for future skin cancer as you optimize your cardiac health on your bike. So really, if you plan to spend hours in the saddle, you should be looking for a cycling jersey that offers you some protection from the sun. For the longest time cycling jersey have been so focused on keeping you cool that UV protection has been completely neglected. This was a problem, seeing as we basically offer our backs up to the sun when we cycle. Now, however, a lot of manufacturers take this into account by making clothing that is designed to protect you from the sun.

Get a Jersey Fit that Matches Your Cycling Style

If you are racing, you need a tight-fitting jersey that does not flap in the wind. Most of the wind drag when you are cycling is caused by your body (which is a whole lot larger and heavier than your bike), so keeping your body as aerodynamic as possible makes a lot of sense.

On the other hand, if you are touring, and stopping off for picnic lunches along the road, you can no doubt live with a more relaxed fit. Similarly if you want a cycling jersey for commuter cycling that won’t make you feel embarrassed if you suddenly decide to meet your partner for a drink or dinner on the way home – relaxed would be better.

How to Care for Your Jersey

Sweat will settle into the fabric of your jersey, creating bacteria, which creates a bad smell. So it is best to wash your jersey after every ride. However, be careful to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines. To prevent the jersey from deteriorating rapidly, it is essential to follow the manufacturer’s advice on laundry temperature and techniques. You can get specific sports laundry detergent too that can help look after the jersey long-term and make sure it doesn’t deteriorate in the wash. The right detergent helps the jersey last long term especially if you’re going out for long bike rides all of the time.

Also, avoid using a tumble drier. Allow your cycling jersey to dry naturally. Cycling clothing dries quickly!

I know you haven’t tried any of these for very long. My recent experience with Pearl-Izumi is that their products are cheaply made and bizarrely designed. I hope the jerseys are better, but I’ll never buy another Pearl Izumi product.

Cycling team kits 2024

With the New Year upon us, we're getting a clear picture of the sea of colour that will make up the pro pelotons in 2024.

Most teams have now unveiled their kits for the upcoming season, with some sticking to their 2023 designs but a fair few mixing things up with new designs.

Ineos Grenadiers ’ new kit , which is very similar to their old kit but made by a new supplier, was leaked online by their own rider , Egan Bernal, although most PR launch campaigns have gone off without a hitch – the most eye-catching being Julian Alaphilippe’s Celine Dion rendition for Soudal Quick-Step ’s get-up.

The Quick-Step kit is even less of a departure than Ineos’, with SD Worx and UAE Team Emirates among the other big teams to keep their tweaks to a minimum. As for the bigger changes, Bahrain Victorious have gone white, Jayco AlUla have had a complete redesign and Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale have ditched the infamous brown shorts.

As for those still to land, we are still waiting on the full reveal for the new dsm-firmenich PostNL number, which looks set to be white, blue and orange.

In this piece, we’ve gathered all the kits across the men’s and women’s WorldTours, all in one place, and we’ll keep it updated whenever a new one drops.

AG Insurance-Soudal

There's no significant change here, although we do apparently have "more playful" lines between the blue and white, and flowers "in motion" on the sleeves and sides.

Alpecin-Deceuninck

No new kit has broken cover so far for the Belgian team of the world champion Mathieu van der Poel .

Arkéa-B&B Hotels

The French team caught the most attention with their new kit thanks to a slightly strange Excalibur launch, complete with Arnaud Démare brandishing a sword. This jersey, which welcomes a new sponsor in B&B Hotels, is similar to 2023 but does contain some striking Excalibur-themed collage panelling.

Astana Qazaqstan

Astana's new kit is an evolution of their Tour de France special edition from 2023. The Pringle patterning is gone, replaced with a more contained section of that so-called "veins of mineral stones" design from last year's Tour.

Bahrain Victorious

Bahrain Victorious have played around with white jerseys at the Tour de France in the past, and they liked it so much they've made it their main kit. The old kit was red, black, and orange, so this presents a fresher, less obviously fossil-fuelled look.

Bora-Hansgrohe

Primož Roglič's new team are back with Sportful after a two-year hiatus and while they're sticking with their deep green base, they've added sections of pale green, which seems to have divided opinion so far.

Canyon-SRAM

The women's team have produced some of the most striking kits in the sport in recent years, and for 2024, they have not strayed from this trend. After using their previous design for two successive seasons, Canyon-SRAM have decided to shake things up ahead of the new campaign, with their new strip unveiled just ahead of the women's Santos Tour Down Under.

Remaining with their tried-and-tested colours of blue, pink and purple - amongst others - Canyon-SRAM's new livery does away with some of the motifs that scattered the old design, and instead focuses on the 'harmonic riffs' of races.

Essentially, geometric patterns now dominate the jersey both front and back, designed to reflect the sounds of the peloton as it races along. We think this will remain one of the most popular kits in the world.

Ceratizit-WNT

The team haven't fully revealed their kit yet, releasing only a shot from the back and a blurred-out front-on shot, but it looks pretty similar to the blue and red design of 2023.

With Decathlon going all-in with the AG2R team, fellow French WorldTour squads are switching away from Van Rysel and forming a new partnership with Mobel Sport, although there's not much at all new about this 2024 design.

Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale

Decathlon's in-house brand Van Rysel is now with AG2R as part of the new sponsorship, and while they've retained the diagonal logo-ing, there's a new white and blue colour scheme. However, what caused the most outcry was the death of the brown shorts, long-derided but already strangely missed.

dsm-firmenich PostNL

The new dsm-firmenich PostNL jersey has proved one of the most divisive of the new campaign, with the Dutch squad making a total revamp of their look with the addition of PostNL as co-title sponsor.

Gone is the dark blue and black design, and in comes an eye-catching white, blue and orange attire that looks set to make the team stand out from the pack this season. Orange is, of course, the colour of PostNL, whilst the white base is complemented by light blue up top.

The bib shorts will be navy for the team and the old dsm logo is gone from the front of the jersey, to the delight of most. Whether you love it or hate it, you can't deny there is a real sense of fun in this new strip for 2024.

EF Pro Cycling

EF Pro Cycling unveiled their new pink and yellow jersey on 4 January with a host of colourful pictures taken at their recent winter training camp. The get-together was the biggest in the team's history, owing to the addition of EF Education-Cannondale women's team to the EF Education-EasyPost men's side.

The team's new jersey remains primarily pink, but is adorned with bright yellow graphics which are in ode to the team's life on the road, as well as their European base in Girona, Spain.

Fenix-Deceuninck

We're yet to see anything new from the team that's run by the same people as the men's Alpecin-Deceuninck outfit.

There are subtle but striking changes for FDJ-SUEZ's fresh look for 2024. Their jersey remains predominantly blue with red sprawling the left-hand shoulder and the bottom of the jersey fading to the black of the bib shorts.

FDJ-SUEZ unveiled their new kit on 1 January

FDJ-SUEZ unveiled their new kit on 1 January

However, a series of navy diagonals break up the lighter blue that the team is known for, rather than adopting more of a simple fade design that the team used in 2023. This makes for a much more impressive kit, in our opinion. French bank card network Cartes Bancaires will also be pleased, as their sponsorship extends from the jersey's shoulders to also featuring on the front of the top.

Groupama-FDJ

Like the women's FDJ team – although the two are not co-owned – the men's team had one of the most popular kits in 2023, trading white for a dark blue, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see them stick in 2024.

Human Powered Health

Human Powered Health have released a kit for 2024 that they are calling a "new refreshed look", but to our mind, it looks pretty much the same as it did in 2023. Orange forms the base colour of the jersey, with hues of red and purple forming gradient splodges across the design. It leans darker than the 2023 version, but all in all the American squad are sticking to a familiar visual identity.

Ineos Grenadiers

This one was leaked by Egan Bernal on Instagram, which perhaps made it seem a little uninspiring when the announcement did come. There's a change of supplier – GOBIK in for Bioracer – and there's more orange and more fade, but the overall look feels similar to 2023.

Intermarché-Wanty

The Belgian team wore three different jerseys in 2023, with special editions for the Giro and Tour – but they have settled on a brand-new design for 2024. After their main effort for 2023 had the look of a white jersey that had innocuously been damaged by knocked-over paint cans, the team have opted for a far more geometric design for the new campaign.

Well-known social media user and graphic designer Stycle Design has been drafted in by Intermarché-Wanty once again to design the jersey, whilst the team has agreed a new partnership with Belgian company Verge Sport to manufacture the kit.

White, fluorescent yellow and dark blue remain the team's core colours, with the right-hand side of the jersey predominantly yellow and dark blue patches colouring the white left-hand side.

As is the norm with this WorldTeam, multiple sponsors adorn the jersey, and it is Fantini who has been offered a far more prominent role in 2024, taking centre stage on the lower half of the top.

Liv AlUla Jayco

Liv Racing TeqFind and Jayco AlUla have merged over the winter, bringing an end to the former's spell as a WorldTeam, and bolstering the ranks available to Jayco AlUla. As we discussed in our Team Talk analysis , both squads struggled in 2023 and uniting forces should not only improve Jayco AlUla's WorldTeam, but has also allowed GreenEDGE Cycling to launch a new women's development side in the sport's lower tier.

Read more: Jayco AlUla Team Talk: Women’s teams combining forces to start anew

Both women's teams will be named Liv AlULA Jayco and with a new name comes a fresh kit - which is a drastic change from their 2023 effort. Gone is the white and blue design and emboldened remains Liv's trademark purple/aubergine.

The front of the jersey sees the bottom half in an orange shade to depict the sands of the Australian outback, which changes to purple for the Liv logo and fades to white at the very top of the jersey. The sleeves, meanwhile, are a dark navy, as are the sides of the jersey and accompanying bib shorts.

Liv and AlUla take prominence as the main title sponsors, whilst Jayco settles for a smaller slot above the right collarbone. Low-quality graphics had leaked of the jersey in the weeks ahead of its release, but the general consensus amongst the public is that this is a jersey that certainly looks better in person.

Jayco AlUla

The new kit for the men's Jayco AlUla outfit, who are of course a UCI WorldTeam in their own right, was unveiled alongside that of the women's on 1 January. It sees the men wear a kit with the same design as the women's teams, only with the aubergine of Liv Cycling swapped out for the light blue of Jayco - as was seen on the team's 2023 kit.

One other notable difference between the sides is that the men will ride on Giant Bikes, as opposed to the Liv bikes that the women's teams will use. Liv is indeed a conglomerate company of Giant Bikes .

Lidl only joined as a title sponsor mid-way through the year, so it's no surprise the new kit that was cooked up then will be back for a full season of racing. Whereas they'd previously worn separate kits, the men's and women's teams are now wearing the same.

There's no big change for the Spanish team, who are sticking with a blue jersey with the big M. It does come with a little more excitement, though, with some artistic patterning as it fades towards the shorts.

Roland have parted ways with Israel-Premier Tech for 2024 and with that, the old blue-and-white design is put to rest. Instead, Roland returns to a base colour of ruby red, which the team used in the years before Israel-Premier Tech's involvement. Simple but arguably stylish, the new Roland kit also confirms the involvement of Pinarello as the team's bike manufacturer.

Visma-Lease a Bike

The Dutch team are changing names and sponsors, but not colours, sticking to the yellow and black scheme as they try and establish it as something of a team brand identity. However, it's definitely a brighter shade of yellow than previously, complete with honeycomb patterning that's part of that 'killer bee' branding. It's the same kit for the men's and women's teams.

UAE Team Emirates

The main change here is the removal of black from the jersey, the running joke being Tadej Pogačar wanting to go fully white now he's too old for the white jersey classification at the Tour de France. There's also a new design element with red, green, and black stripes at the base of the jersey.

All the team kits for 2024: Lifeplus-Wahoo team up with MAAP on new green kit

Keep up to date with the jerseys to watch out for next season in our complete guide

  • Sign up to our newsletter Newsletter

Lifeplus-Wahoo MAAP kit

It is January, we are days away from the opening of the 2024 season and the Tour Down Under, and so it is time for the floodgates to open and for all the teams to release their kits, if they haven't already. Some came out way back in early December, but now is the time for most to be released.

Rather than writing up each team individually, we thought it would work better if we collated them together, unless someone does something mad. When all the kits are out, we can do our usual arbitrary ranking of them too , so do look out for that. In this guide, we will cover just the WorldTour teams, though, otherwise it will get a bit overwhelming.

If you would rather find out which team riders will be appearing for next year, rather than what they will be wearing, you can find that on our comprehensive transfer guide for 2024 too .

Those looking to make a splash with their new jersey, shorts and socks combos should be wary of the fate that has already befallen Ineos Grenadiers, with Egan Bernal appearing to accidentally revealing next year's kit - with a different manufacturer - on social media.

So far, we are only certain of a dozen or so kits for next season, but the launches have already meant some big changes in the colours of the men's and women's pelotons for next season.

Lifeplus-Wahoo

Lifeplus-Wahoo MAAP kit

All change at Lifeplus-Wahoo, who become the second British Continental team to be sponsored by Australian kit brand MAAP after Trinity. The women's team wore a dark green with blue, pink and yellow jersey last year, but this year have gone with a neon green and light purple jersey, with dark green shorts.

"We’re honoured to be sponsoring the Lifeplus-Wahoo professional women’s team," Oliver Cousins, MAAP's co-founder, said. "The team’s values, focus and commitment to the progression of women’s cycling is truly inspiring. For us at MAAP, this is not just a commitment to excellence in cycling; it's a vital investment in the empowerment of women in sports. We want to foster athletic prowess as well as actively propel the sport forward by cultivating a more equitable future in the world of cycling."

The press release from the British squad says: "As well as outfitting the team, MAAP will also be lifting the lid on what it takes to make it in the world of women’s professional cycling through an exclusive series of behind-the-scenes content."

Canyon-SRAM

Canyon-Sram's kit launch for 2024

In the words of the above model, Kasia Niewiadoma, her team Canyon-SRAM new kit is "vibrant, sharp and fiesty".

The women's WorldTour outfit has chosen another characteristically bold design. This time, there's a musical undertone, with the patterns said to embody the sounds and rhythms of a race day.

The impressively pretentious press release reads: "From the whir of the freewheels to the roar of the crowds, brilliant riffs of harmonic colour wrap around the rider with pure sound energy in motion, mirroring the impact the team have in the peloton."

It's a vibe, and we like it.

dsm-firmenich PostNL

dsm-firmenich PostNL kit for 2024

In the worst kept secret in cycling, dsm-firmenich PostNL have finally 'unveiled' their new kit, which was showcased at the Australian National Road Championships last week and soft launched in November last year.

The Dutch team has gone for a fresh look for 2024. Out goes the black and blue, donned for the past three seasons, and in come bright orange stripes, layered on an icy white and blue backdrop.

The new attire made by Nalini is "dazzling" and "expertly crafted", according to the team.

There's also a hidden meaning in the orange stripes: "The left stripe represents the continuous development of each individual person, while the right stripe visualises their ever-improving innovative environment." Obviously.

Lotto-Dstny

Lotto-Dstny kit

Lotto-Dstny veered away from their traditional red and white kit last year with the arrival of Dstny as a sponsor, adding a splash of orange and a light blue, or teal. 2024's kit is much the same, with a red chest, a band of orange, and then an aqua-blue below that. The big change is the shape of the orange band, and a slightly different shade of blue.

EF Education-EasyPost and EF Education-Cannondale

New rapha kits for EF Educatin 2024

Some kits receive very little fanfare at all, but the Rapha kit drop for EF Pro Cycling always provokes a lot of interest. 2024’s offering is fun, with pink inevitably the main colour, but with splashes of yellow across it. It feels like a homage to two of the most popular highlighter colours, but that’s not a bad thing.

The kits contain messages written across them, from standard cycling phrases like “UP UP UP” and “TURN THE SCREW” to references to a card game that the team likes to play. Owain Doull said: “Unless you're in the team, you wouldn't understand, so I think that's really cool.”

Both the men’s and women’s team wear the same exact kit, for the first time, with the latter now being managed by the same umbrella organisation. The largely pink jersey is paired with black bib shorts and white socks, with the final item supposedly returning due to popular demand. The men and women will need to change their colours for the Giro d’Italia, but that’s a way off yet.

Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla Jayco

Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla Jayco in new team kits

Australian men's team Jayco AlUla and women's team Liv AlUla Jayco will once again wear slightly different designs in 2024.

The teams unveiled their new kits on New Year's Day, with the jersey blending up from orange to blue for the men, and orange to purple for the women.

According to the teams, the colours are significant, with "a dash of blue tones inspired from the Australian ocean, the Jayco blue jay bird and Giant Bicycles, to the red hot desert sands of the outback mixed in with hints of deep aubergine found in the AlUla night sky and Liv Cycling."

Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig in the new FDJ Suez kit for 2024

It's red, white and blue for women's WorldTour squad FDJ - Suez, whose riders continue to style themselves in the French tricolour.

Designed by Gobik, the team's 2024 kit is almost identical to its 2023 offering, with subtle differences in the texture of the pattern.

In FDJ - Suez's own words, it's "a refined fusion of style and innovation".

Intermarché-Wanty

Intermarché-Wanty kit

The newly renamed Intermarché-Wanty - due to Belgian laws on gambling adverts - keep the same colours for their 2024 kit, just in a slight different pattern. What was a lime green and navy blue splurge across the stomach of the jersey becomes lime green and navy blue geometric shapes across the top and down the right hand side.

The Walloon team has switched kit suppliers, from Nalini to Verge Sport, and the brand has come up with a simple and smart offering which leaves room for all the sponsors across the front, back, and sides of the jersey. The right sleeve is also in the fetching lime green, and it will be paired with navy blue bib shorts.

Visma-Lease a Bike

Visma-Lease a Bike's new kit

The newly renamed Visma-Lease a Bike stick to the yellow and black of Jumbo-Visma as they seek to build on their historic 2023. The Dutch supermarket chain might be gone as sponsors, but it lives on in the iconic yellow branding.

All told, it's pretty simple, with the sponsors in black on a plain yellow background, with black down the sides, and a hex pattern on the stomach.

The team's boss, Richard Plugge, said that they were launching "more than just a new kit", but a "new corporate identity" too, with the hexagon/honeycomb shapes.

Visma will have to change their kit for the Tour de France come July, once more.

Nairo Quintana in the new Movistar kit

Spain's Movistar have gone for evolution rather than evolution for 2024, with a new shade of blue employed, but one which has appeared on many of their kits.

It's not all one blue, either, with a more navy variant of the colour reaching up from the bottom of the jersey, and there are flashed of white on the back. Both the men and the women will wear this kit, alongside the team's e-sports squad. It's made by Gobik, who are also responsible for the Ineos Grenadiers' one below.

The press release says: "It's a restyling from the previous design, updated to include Telefónica's 100th anniversary celebration logo, while also presenting a resemblance of patterns from networks and fiber, a wink to the year's 'leitmotiv'."

Israel-Premier Tech

Israel-Premier Tech's new kit

Israel-Premier Tech have opted for a more muted kit for 2024, sticking to different shades of blue and white, rather than complicating it with purples and reds. It has the effect of representing the colours of the Israeli flag, and also Premier Tech's colours.

It is the second year the team have had a kit designed by Ekoï, and this one combines navy and two lighter shades of blue, on both the body and the left sleeve. The right sleeve is white. Apparently, it takes inspiration from the team's special Giro kit from 2023, but that had a lot more red.

SD Worx in their new kit

SD Worx are known for their "beautiful female outfits", according to the press release which accompanied the launch of the team's new kit. The squad, which I would argue is more known for dominating women's races this season, will be looking more purple in 2024, a return to their 2021 colours really.

The Dutch team also has the highest concentration of world, continental, and national champions, so it is kind of rare to see their top riders in their trade kit - Demi Vollering (Dutch national champion), Lotte Kopecky (world champion) and Marlen Reusser (European champion) speak to this.

However, Lorena Wiebes will be wearing the normal kit, and she described it as "special". Purple is the dominant colour on the chest, but there are also reds and oranges on the front and back of the jersey, along with the giant asterisk thing, the provenance of which escapes me. Paired with black shorts, it's smart, although Wiebes' former European champion bands do rather jar.

Astana-Qazaqstan

Astana-Qazaqstan's new kit

Astana-Qazaqstan keep their iconic blue for 2024, which almost goes without saying, but with an added "pattern similar to the veins of mineral stones", according to the press release. Mark Cavendish will ride on for one more year in quite a smart-looking blue jersey, with extra detail on the stomach.

Apparently other inspiration for the kit "comes from the colour affinity with the blue of the sky and the gold of the sun, as well as with elements of the flag of Kazakhstan".

It comes from Biemme, an Italian brand founded in 1978, who take over from Giordana.

Alexandr Vinokurov, the general manager of Astana, said that it was a "fresh jersey for the riders and [a] fresh start for the team".

Soudal Quick-Step

Soudal Quick-Step's new kit

There isn't a lot of change at Soudal Quick-Step, to be honest, but there is more blue and less white. The Belgian team stick with Castelli, who have supplied much the same jersey for 2024, with subtle changes.

There is a little floral pattern on the sleeves, although it is quite subtle, and other than the blue and white percentages changing a bit, that's it.

The new jersey was designed in collaboration with Stijn Dossche, the man behind stycle.design, who often creates elaborate concept kits.

"I have also tried to add some different shades of blue, which refer to the sky and the seas," Dossche said. "And the movement in the floral patterns, which show the team’s movement through the natural surroundings in which cycling takes place, and the shapes are to capture the movement of the sport. I think it is really important to protect this environment.”

Quick-Step's women's team, AG Insurance - Soudal Quick-Step, has an identical jersey, just with a different sponsor on the front.

Booooom 💥Our 2024 jersey is out and we absolutely love it 🤩#unlockyourpotential #GearUp #wolfpack📹: @sam_has_a_camera pic.twitter.com/zkBkZUlq43 December 15, 2023

Bora-Hansgrohe

New sportful Bora-Hansgrohe jersey

Bora-Hansgrohe said goodbye to its former kit partner Le Col at the end of the 2023 season and the dark shades of green that became synonymous with the German team’s appearance.

Ralph Denk’s squad is back with former partner Sportful for 2024 and the likes of new signing Primož Roglič - and former Giro d’Italia winner Jai Hindley - will be rolling out in a jersey featuring a bright yellow shoulder panel in the new season.

The shade of yellow is reminiscent of that which was worn by the former Tinkoff team.

As well as the yellow shoulder panel, the jersey features two different shades of green. On the left shoulder the majority of the panelling is a similar shade to last year’s kit although it gradually turns to a lighter shade towards the centre of the chest.

Ineos Grenadiers

Ineos Grenadiers' new kit

The British team has slowly been edging away from their old navy or black in recent years, and more towards their orange training kit, and this year is almost a full transition. Ineos Grenadiers will be wearing the orange, red and dark navy kit on the road next season, seemingly with orange helmets to boot. It will certainly help them stand out in the peloton.

Of course, we already knew most of this thanks to Bernal's slip-up on social media , but the official announcement of a new deal with Gobik was made public on Wednesday, a "long-term partnership". It means the Spanish brand now supplies two teams on the WorldTour, Ineos and Movistar, two squads seeking to get back to former glories in 2024.

"The quality of the race kit has such a dramatic impact on rider performance," John Allert, Ineos Grenadiers' CEO said. "Therefore choosing a kit partner is not something we take lightly, I’m looking forward to seeing where this collaboration takes us and them in 2024."

The kit is largely orange, fading into a darker hue and then red on the shoulder, with a dark navy left sleeve. It will be paired with black bib shorts and white socks.

Cofidis kit 2024

Truth be told, we missed Cofidis' kit last week - sorry to them. Their kit has not changed much from last year, though, so perhaps that's for the best. Van Rysel is no longer in charge of the French team's kit, because they have moved to design AG2R's, so Spanish company Mobel comes in instead.

The pattern on the chest has changed a bit, but I couldn't really tell you what's going on on there. Maybe it's one you need to see in person. There's a bit more red, with the collar also taking on the hue, but other than that I would not be able to tell you the difference. It's still good and clean, though.

UAE Team Emirates

UAE Team Emirates new kit

Tadej Pogačar will still be in a white jersey at the Tour de France next summer after all, thanks to his UAE Team Emirates choosing to go completely white for next season.

The kit is "pure white", meaning "pure speed", according to Pissei, the manufacturer. It isn't quite all white, with the red, green and black of the UAE flag featuring on the bottom of the jersey, and blue, black and red featuring in the sponsor logos, but it is a lot more white than in 2023.

Pogačar's also featured the flag of Slovenia, as he is the current national champion. Paired with white helmets, it is a clean look for the 2023 WorldTour's best team.

Bahrain Victorious

Damiano Caruso

Damiano Caruso in the new jersey

The biggest change in Bahrain Victorious’ 2024 kit is the colour. Matej Mohorič, Fred Wright, Pello Bilbao and company raced in a mostly red jersey for the past few years but will switch to a largely white jersey for the new season.

While the kit is undoubtedly new, it bears a striking resemblance to the switch out kit that the team rode in for this year’s Tour de France which featured a “pearl white” jersey. The jersey is almost identical to the switch out kit but the gold band on the sleeves has been replaced with a blue band, the same shade as that which features elsewhere on the jersey.

The shorts are relatively simple and are black with a blue band at the base of the thigh, similar to that which features on the jersey. According to the team, the teal shade of blue pays homage to the “rich-pearling beds” surrounding the kingdom of Bahrain.

Arkéa-B&B Hotels

The Arkéa-B&B Hotels kit for 2024

Arkéa-Samsic is no more, with the Breton team now going by Arkéa-B&B Hotels (remember them?). Why the budget hotel chain is obsessed with sponsoring middling French teams, we will never know, but its addition to the team has not meant a return of Glaz , as it fits into the red of Arkéa.

It is not too different to last season, but it has changed a bit, with less black piping and more red generally. It apparently references the legend of Arthur and Excalibur, which I always thought was a British legend, but is apparently also linked to Brittany - the Celtic connection is possibly why.

“Our colours remain red and black," the team's general manager, Emmanuel Hubert, said. "These have become a real landmark, a reference over the years within the professional peloton, as well as an identification model for our supporters.

“You all know our history, linked to the Breton territory. This is why our 2024 jersey was designed around the theme “EXCALIBUR”, a legendary Breton sword. This 2024 vintage 'breathes' our origins, our land.”

Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale

The new Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale kit

Another French team with a name change is AG2R who will go by Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale next season. As a result, Decathlon blue is brought to the forefront of the kit and there is no longer room for brown shorts.

The text remains on a slant, as it has for AG2R Citroën for the past few years, but there is no more red and the effect is to promote the team's new budget retail partner.

No more brown shorts, but black. I think this is a shame.

WorldTour team kits 2024 - The definitive ranking

Once again, Will Jones and his ever-scathing mother run us through the best and worst of the peloton's jerseys

The best pro kits of 2024 ranked

January is relatively miserable, provided you're in the northern hemisphere. For cycling fans though it means that the WorldTour peloton is now showcasing new tech, new bikes, and most importantly for this article, new kit. The jerseys of the world's pro cycling teams are now all out there in the wild , and we've done our usual mass office vote to bring you the definitive rankings.

There are some big changes, some unusual colour palettes, and new sponsor decals to shoehorn into already crowded visual spaces. While others may claim to bring you an official kit ranking, none offer what I'm bringing you: Scathing comments from my mother.

She is a regular cyclist, but doesn't pay much attention to racing beyond the Tour de France , so it's about as objective a viewpoint as you're ever likely to get. Keep reading to see who ranked where, which teams have moved up and down, and which jersey my mum thinks "looks like a urine sample".

2024 kit rankings

30: Visma–Lease a Bike (Men's and Women's)

Rock bottom, but an improvement on last year to my mind. The honeycomb motif is a neat touch, but I think it's a stretch to expect the team's super domestiques to ditch the team radios and communicate in a series of short dance segments...

Mum: Lease a bike is a very good idea... especially as I've chipped mine and I'm terribly upset about it. Would everybody have the Belgian bits? Will: No, only former Belgian champions. Mum: OK. I still think they need to choose a different yellow.

UAE Team Emirates team kit 2024

29: UAE Team Emirates

One of my favourites, and last year's kit was also one of my favourites. It's simple, it's classy, it's got a tonne of sponsor logos, and anyone wearing it is going to look more tanned. It took a while for Mum to ponder this one, but I think she actually quite liked it. Not so much my colleagues, though...

Mum: I don't understand what that stuff coming up the tummy is. Will: I like that one! Mum: It is clear, but it would almost be better if it didn't have those lines at the front that looked like two hands doing this*. Will: That's gonna be hard to come across in the text...

Then, after a pause...

Mum: I know it sounds daft, but if that material is a nice dense white rather than a flimsy one it would look good. It depends on the colour of the shorts. What they should do is give their team red shorts. There you have it folks, we need red shorts in the peloton. * It looked like some sort of gang sign to be honest, but I think she just meant it looks like hands.

2024 kit rankings

28: Movistar (Men's and Women's)

Movistar have a pretty tried and tested formula at this point. Black shorts, blue jersey, big white 'M'. Like many teams they've tried to modernise by adding a bit more graphic intrigue to the transition between jersey and shorts. It's fine by me, not my favourite but I think deserving of a top-10 spot. Mum didn't really like how freshly back-on-the-team Colombian, Nairo Quintana was sitting though.

Mum: There's a bit too much manspreading going on there... and why are they all wearing sunglasses? Will: They're in Spain (probably). It's sunny.

Urška Žigart, Mauro Schmid and Matilde Vitillo pose in the Jayco-Alula and Liv-Alula team kit for 2024

27: Jayco AlUla

This is my second least favourite. How it wasn't second last is a travesty. I guess there's no accounting for taste...

Mum: Absolutely not. Absolutely not. They need to get a colour wheel out. If they're going to do a fade, you don't don't fade that red into the blue. Oh dear. No.

2024 Ineos Grenadiers kit

26: Ineos Grenadiers

Another of Mum's top favourites, but I think it's because she fancies our boy Geraint. Personally. I'm indifferent, but I am glad there's now some differentiation between the Ineos and the Bahrain kits. Mum: Now that's quite striking. I like it. Yeah. I like the one arm being one colour and the one arm being the other colour. And I'm a big fan of orange.

2024 kit rankings

25: Human Powered Health

Human Powered Health is a simple affair, one that Mum struggled to picture in a team context, despite my best efforts.

Mum: What would it look like in a team? Will: Like that, but imagine eight of them.. or seven. Mum: It's not offensive. You can see it if you were a sponsor. You definitely get that it's doing its job. Isn't it? doing its job? Its job. Yeah, it's doing its job.

It is, clearly, doing its job, but not with enough panache to place any higher.

Images from the 2024 EF Education-EasyPost team camp

24: EF Education-EasyPost

I prefer last year's kit. more simple, more 'slowly depleting highlighter'. It gave me fond flashbacks to the weeks before my exams where I'd highlight everything in the hope that adding more pink would make me remember things better... Given that I trained as a geologist and now I'm a cycling journo I'll let you come to your own conclusions as to how well that went for me.

Mum: Get rid of the yellow! Get rid of the yellow! Make the Rapha strike bigger because people know what the Rapha stripe is and then put the Rapha in black. Get rid of the yellow!

Get rid of the yellow, then, I think is what she was getting at.

2024 kit rankings

23: Ceratizit-WNT

This isn't the one for me, but in an incredible against the odds turn up for the books... this was mum's joint-favourite!

Mum: Look at the diamond patterns in there. They're mirroring the A's and the T's. Somebody's thought quite a lot about that one!

Bahrain Victorious 2024 kit

22: Bahrain Victorious

This is clearly the lesser of the two mostly white, Middle-East-nation-backed team kits. I'm just not a turquoise fan I'm afraid. Sadly, again, I'm not in step with my colleagues.

Mum: This is all this technical stuff ( by which she means heavily vented fabrics ), which is all very clever, but it makes it look really messy. I know you've got Bapco Energies who are obviously very proud of themselves... I'm sure it's lovely to cycle in, but the material is not nice.

Arkea-B&B Hotels 2024

21: Arkea-B&B Hotels

Arkea is in a similar, but slightly neatened version of last year's kit, with a more prominent pattern on the left side of the jersey. Gone, fortunately, is the flashes of Bianchi Celeste, which was one of the worst colour pairings in cycling in recent years.

Mum: That's nice. That's a clear red. That's lovely. That's lovely. I'd wear that.

Clearly trying to blag herself a free jersey from a rival team after being let down by Cofidis...

2024 kit rankings

20. AG Insurance-Soudal

Personally, I don't mind this, but I'm a fan of Euro-style sponsor soup jerseys. With a paltry average score of just 2/5 this one proved relatively unpopular with the Cyclingnews staff, and my mum, too.

Mum: Oh poor girl... Oh dear. I think she's smiling through the pain there. I'm trying to think of something positive to say. Will: Do your best! Mum: It's got a lobster* on it?

*It's worth noting at this point that my mum is a big fan of Castelli kit, but cannot be convinced that the scorpion logo isn't actually a lobster.

2024 kit rankings

19: Fenix-Deceuninck

Again, a kit I'm not necessarily blown away by but I don't think it's all that hideous. My colleagues disagree, which is beginning to make me feel like I might just have terrible taste...

Mum: Looks like something you'd pick up in the middle of Lidl. Maybe that's too cruel? I like the stripes across the middle, so I'm going to take back the Lidl comment. If it had a little more detail in it I'd give it more.

Mikel Landa

18: Soudal-QuickStep

Another classic in my eyes, but still sadly languishing in the bottom half.

Mum: God help us, what have they done this time?! I'm not sure about the Safety Jogger on the on the shoulders - They could have put that somewhere else. Will: I suspect Safety Jogger paid to have it there, in fairness... Mum: No. And why have they got 'Napoleon' on the arms? They're a Belgian team, aren't they? Napoleon is French! Will: I think it's a betting company, Mum. I don't think the team is sponsored by Napoleon himself...

17: Liv-AlUla-Jayco

In a rare moment of agreement, neither Mum nor I were fans of this one, and we both concluded that it was worse than the Jayco AlUla kit.

Mum: They've made that worse. I don't know how that's worse but it's dreadful. And I ride a Liv bike! Will: It's so bad it would make you upset to ride a Liv bike? Mum: Well no not quite because my bike is lovely... but I would not put that on. Will: Isn't that the colour of your bike at the top? Mum: No. My bike is 'dynamic bronze'.

Plus points to Liv there for creating a memorable colour name!

2024 WorldTour jerseys

16: Alpecin-Deceuninck

Undefeated hardest-to-spell sponsor of the year for several years on the bounce now, Alpecin remains a standout favourite for me. Classy, uncluttered, symmetrical. This is a jersey that'll age well.

Mum: I'd take out 'hair booster' for a start. Everybody knows what Alpecin is!

While slightly critical, I think that's probably a win for Alpecin as a sponsor as much as anything else.

2024 kit rankings

15: Uno-X Mobility

Personally, I'm a big fan of this. It's modern, it's block colours, and it has a slight Early Learning Centre vibe. It seems I'm being labelled as a thoughtless, toxic bloke however because both my mother and my partner both take issue with the fact the logos sit far too prominently on the chest.

Mum: They have GOT to sort this 'Uno-X' thing out, these guys. They need to have the logo on the shoulder, not the boobs. I reckon they've done it deliberately! Will: You think this is an act of toxic masculinity? Mum: I do, I really do. In fact, having the Norwegian flag across your chest like that is much better than having 'Uno' on one side and 'X' on the other. Will: They can't all be Norwegian champion... Mum: No.

Freya, my partner, from another room: It's designed for men!!

2024 kit rankings

14: SD Worx

Big team, top half placing - it's the ever-winning SD Worx. A big hit with the staff, and quite a hit with the parental contingent too. Mum: she's looking very happy with yourself, but, um, no, well, it's quite dramatic. You could stand on a podium in that, couldn't you? Will: They do, quite regularly. Mum: I'm not understanding what the big cross thing is. Will: It's a design flair, perhaps. Mum: Also, you don't see so much purple on the road. I'm not a big fan of purple but I think in a combination with a bit of red there... That's not bad.

2024 kit rankings

One sponsor is a weird vibe. Cycling teams need two, at least. That's not the worst of it though...

Mum: Oh, that's they look like they've got sweaty armpits.

She's not wrong, to be fair.

Cofidis 2024 team jersey

12: Cofidis

Cofidis get a provisional zero points because this is a dictatorship. Last year my mum bigged them up and they promised to send her a jersey. No jersey ever materialised, so what sort of son would I be if I didn't use my platform to try and blag my mum a freebie?

Mum: Oh that's nice isn't it?! Will: I'm giving it a zero. Mum: Why? Will: They promised you a jersey! Mum: They did promise me a jersey. I haven't got the jersey. And I tell you what I don't like about it. Is all this sort of fading thing? The swirls? Yeah, it looks like somebody's not washed it properly.

2024 WorldTour jerseys

11: Groupama-FDJ

The FDJ jersey remains more or less the same, and last year was our overall winner. Like a hugely tiresome Christmas number one about sausage rolls it's tumbled down the rankings as the new year begins. It's still a winner in my eyes, even if it's no longer going to be adorning everyone's favourite Frenchman, Thibaut Pinot .

Mum: That's very nice. I like to see what they've done with the seams. They've got a nice red highlight down the middle. That's lovely. And I don't know how many sponsors they have, but it's not completely covered. And also I like the alternate sleeve thingy.

2024 kit rankings

10: DSM-Firmenich-PostNL (Men's and Women's)

Initially, I really disliked this one, and it has slightly grown on me. It was another one that polarised the office, but the people who adored it clearly outnumbered the haters by a sizeable margin. It was, amazingly, one of Mum's top picks.

Mum: I think that's lovely. It's the orange like I said before. We've got rid of the Brown from AG2R so we need something orange, and it works with the teal. And also the double strike down the front...

2024 kit rankings

9: UAE Team ADQ

No real change from last year for a kit that I quite liked.

Mum: It's got that yellow again! I don't understand why people have to put that shade of yellow on.

At this point my partner came in and suggested that bonus points be given for the quality of the nail varnish, derailing the conversation but allowing Mum time to rethink her position...

Mum: I'm coming round to this one because it's actually quite pretty and somebody has thought about this.

The new 2024 colours of the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team

8: Decathlon AG2R

Yeah, that's alright, that! I mean I'm as sad as the next person about the loss of brown shorts, but I guess time marches on regardless. It's clear, neat, almost retro. If the top half was horizontal I think it would be a future old-school classic.

Mum: I like it because it's clear, but I am disappointed about the lack of brown. Brown, as I have said before*, is a very underrated colour. *For context, Mum is currently making herself some brown trousers.

Tao Geoghegan Hart

7: Lidl-Trek (Men's and Women's)

One of my favourites, so I'm pleased to see my tastes are finally aligning with my colleagues. A great mix of juvenile colours, and a euro-supermarket sponsor, exactly as a cycling jersey should be. All it needs now is a special 'middle aisle' edition for the Tour de France, each jersey sporting a different special offer item on the back, and we're golden.

Mum: Ooh, now that IS quite nice. It's clear, it's concise, it's got dense colours, it's neat. I like it. Give 'em red shorts! They'd look fab!

That's another team for red shorts!

2024 kit rankings

6: Israel-Premier Tech (ProTeam)

Israel PremierTech is a pretty classy number, not all that different (if at all?) from last season.

Mum: You can't see most of it so you don't know who they are.

If nothing else this highlights the importance of clear marketing photography if you're to capture the imagination of recently retired passing cycling fans.

2024 kit rankings

5: FDJ-SUEZ

Another high placing for the French team. Last year they got docked points because Suez, a refuse management company, kept messing up Mum's bin collection. It's been a year and she's definitely over it...

Mum: If I was a professional cyclist and I was put in that that would be great. It is still such a shame that Suez is... Will: Have they sorted your bins out yet? Mum: No. But that's okay. I'm over that now. I'm okay.

Astana Qazaqstan Team 2024 - 15/12/2023 - photo Luca Bettini/SprintCyclingAgency©2023

4: Astana Qazaqstan

A real polariser in the office. People either loved it or hated it. Personally, as a former geologist who used to hunt for gold seams, I'm all for a lycra homage to my old profession, inaccurate though it is. Mum wasn't quite so sure, sadly. Mum: Oh Christ. What's with the fire stuff? I know it's a land of fire and volcanoes and stuff... Will: No, this is an homage to the rich gold mines of Kazakhstan. Mum: Well, it doesn't do anything for them, does it? Yeah, I mean, if they were gold seams, why didn't they highlight the seams in gold? Will: I think that might be too nuanced. Mum: Instead, what you've got is somebody that looks like they've got Jackson Pollock on their tummy.

Intermarché-Wanty's new kit for 2024

3: Intermarché-Wanty

Last year this team was near the bottom, and I was the sole voice in favour of bright, euro jersey heaven. This year everyone has changed their tunes... Just saying, I was a fan before it was cool, ok?

Will: That's my favourite one! Mum: No! Will: It's got everything; it's got a supermarket, it's got gambling, it's got loads of sponsors... Mum: To me it looks like "wanted" because his arms are closed. It's that colour of yellow... it looks like it looks like a urine sample!

Jai Hindley in the 2024 Bora-Hansgrohe racing colours

2: Bora-Hansgrohe

I really like this kit, but annoyingly, a cycling meme account suggested that it's reminiscent of Cif oven cleaning cream, and I absolutely cannot unsee it. I suppose if your main sponsor is a producer of kitchen stuff, it kind of makes sense on a subliminal level... Will: Nice bottle of Cif cream? Mum: It's Cif! They needed a stronger yellow. Wrong yellow... Wrong yellow.

2024 kit rankings

1: Canyon-SRAM

It was never in doubt really, was it? It's clearly the best, everyone at the office loved it, I love it, mum loved it, Freya loved it. It's ace. Hands down the best.

Mum: I like that one. That's nice. That's really nice. You would wear that if you were in the south of France. If you're in the south of France. You would wear that. I wouldn't wear that in Cornwall.

I'm not sure if this was a comment on Cornish weather, or attitudes to heavily patterned jerseys.

Will joined the Cyclingnews team as a reviews writer in 2022, having previously written for Cyclist, BikeRadar and Advntr. There are very few types of cycling he's not dabbled in, and he has a particular affection for older bikes and long lasting components. Road riding was his first love, before graduating to racing CX in Yorkshire. He's been touring on a vintage tandem all the way through to fixed gear gravel riding and MTB too. When he's not out riding one of his many bikes he can usually be found in the garage tinkering with another of them, or getting obsessive about tyres. The new 2023 men’s WorldTour jerseys are starting to be unveiled with some new designs and some copy paste efforts from 2022. For the first time in a while (maybe the first time properly), we’ve had some promotion and relegation from the men’s WorldTour. As such the likes of Israel-Premier Tech who have released their jersey, can’t be found on this page. However, the likes of Alpecin-Deceuninck and Team Arkéa-Samsic will be able to be seen here once they have released their new designs.

Table of Contents

As the WorldTour teams release their kits, I shall keep this page updated to include all of them. Traditionally EF Education-EasyPost is the last to announce theirs, with the hype and secrecy that goes with that final position as a result. Last year they kept it very under wraps until they accidentally leaked it just a day before the proper announcement.

Cycling in New Jersey

The Jerseys - Tour de France

Santini goes yellow: the Tour de France to wear made in Italy

Santini Cycling Wear and A.S.O. are delighted to announce a new agreement making the Italian brand official partner to the Tour de France from 2022 to supply the prestigious Yellow Jersey and the other official jerseys for the elite multi-stage road race.  The sponsorship deal also includes the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and L’Étape du Tour de France.

Inspired by Cape Town’s most famous rock, the Table Mountain-themed rider jersey shows that you are a rider of stability and fortitude, that you’ve climbed mountains to reach your goal but now reach a levelling out stage in your Cape Town Cycle Tour participation, much like Table Mountain levels out, as you strive for your next Cycle Tour milestone of 21 Tours.

cycle tour jersey

Inspired by the scenic and much-loved Chapman’s Peak portion of the route, the 21 Tour jersey shows you are not scared of a challenge and are committed to cycling excellence despite the challenges you may face. Like the stunning scenery along Chapman’s Peak, you are a rider who ages, but never really gets old.

cycle tour jersey

The 30 Tour jersey, inspired by Lion’s Head, is a symbol of your pride in cycling and your prowess in pedalling. You are the  mane  man or woman, the leader of the pack, the hunter, the king of the jungle, the fierce lioness that stops at nothing to achieve your goals. Thirty is just a stepping stone on your march towards 40.

cycle tour jersey

Taking inspiration from the Cape Peninsula, the 40 Tour jersey symbolises consistency, perseverance, and a love for going the distance. Like the yellow of a Tour de France leader’s jersey, the Cape Town Cycle Tour 40 Tour jersey shows that you lead from the front and deserve to be seen when on the bike!
