The word “cetacean” is from the Latin  cetus , which means “large sea creature”. It refers to the group of marine mammals that includes all whales, dolphins, and porpoises.

Dolphins are famous among people because they are graceful and beautiful creatures. Their incredible performance while jumping in the ocean and their friendly face have made people like dolphins.

However, probably the most attractive feature that has made dolphins very appealing to humans is their intelligence which has no equal in the animal world.

During your dolphin boat trip in Gran Canaria , your guide will tell you about these cetaceans and point them out to you. To identify them yourself, you should know that the common dolphin is slender with a yellowish color on its side. These dolphins can be up to 8 feet long and weigh 175-240 lbs.

On the other hand, the bottlenose dolphin in Gran Canaria measures 8-10 feet long and weighs between 330 and 1,430 lbs. Compared to the common dolphin, the bottlenose dolphin has a bulkier appearance.

How far in advance should I book a tour?

We recommend that you book your Gran Canaria excursions as far in advance as possible, in order to guarantee your trip and day of your choice. Some Excursions will fill up quicker than others, for example; Boat Trips, Jeep Safari’s and Buggy Tours fill up very quickly as they have a limited capacity. It also depends on the time of year that you are travelling to Gran Canaria, as some months are much busier than others.

What happens once I book?

As soon as you book you will shorty receive an email confirmation and Text/SMS, confirming your excursion date and time of your pick up and confirmation of the deposit received if you havn’t received your confirmation please firstly check your email spam folder, just in case. If you don’t receive it within 15 minutes, please contact us and we will send it manually to you.

Can I book over the phone?

Do I need to print out my email confirmation?

For all of the excursions, it is sufficient to show the email confirmation or Text/SMS on your phone. If you want to print out the confirmation you are more than welcome to.

Yes, depending on group size, the excursion you wish to do and availability of the trip please email us the details of your group size, the excursion you want to do and your arrival and departure in Gran Canaria and we will give you the best deal!

Do I need to bring my Passport or ID?

For activities such as Quad biking and Buggy tours and self drive Jeep tours, proof of age is required, as is a full driving license (card, not paper license) so please bring both documents for these trips.

What is the refund policy?

Deposit reservations are non-refundable. In the event of a trip or activity being cancelled, we will try to transfer you on to the next available trip. However, if for any reason this is not possible you will be issued a full refund.

You’ll be able to see many different types of cetaceans as 29 of the 79 have been seen in the Canary Islands. We find ourselves in a very privileged area for observing these incredible creatures taking into account that many of the cetaceans live exclusively in polar regions, rivers, and limited areas.

Dolphins and whales are present in Canarian waters throughout the year so we are almost sure to be able to see them. In case we do not see any type of cetacean, we will give you an invitation ticket to return another day (depending on availability).
