Jetwings Domestic

Go-getter is the exclusive in-flight monthly magazine of GoAir. The magazine covers stories across travel, lifestyle, food and culture.

JetWings is the in-flight magazine of Jet Airways. The magazine presents in-depth knowledge of India, with an emphasis on travel, lifestyle, culture and cuisine weaved into insightful features corresponding to monthly themes. Besides this, there are also regular sections on cinema, literature, art and music. JetWings International, the magazine found aboard Jet Airways’ international flights, similarly lays emphasis on Jet Airways’ international destinations. The magazines’ emphasis on editorial ethics and standards and the use of high-quality photographs in each issue have led it to win several in-flight magazine awards.

JetWings Domestic, the in-flight monthly magazine of Jet Airways – India’s largest airline – offers its readers in-depth knowledge of India. It not only highlights travel, but also unique cultural traditions, music, art, cinema, food and contemporary design. Each feature tells a story through interesting, offbeat angles, that reveal something unusual about a destination beyond what guidebooks or newspaper supplements offer. From wildlife conservation and pilgrimage travel to luxurious heritage hotels and gourmet trails around the country, JetWings takes up themes that are as diverse in their range as India is. Besides monthly themes, every issue of JetWings has regular lifestyle sections that review the latest gadgets and automobiles in the market, the finest spas, resorts and high-end accessories, tips on health, fashion, wellness and personal grooming, as well as a round-up of what’s new in the education and real estate segments. The magazine focuses on providing intelligent content to enhance its readers’ lifestyles. JET AIRWAYS, India’s premier airline, had won 11 awards in the year 2011. These awards are further testimony to the emergence of the airline as the preferred choice for guests travelling to and from the Indian subcontinent. The “Most Trusted Airline Brand” is obviously the silver lining as it encompasses all parameters of an airlines performance including quality of service and on time performances. The quality of JETWINGS can be gauged by the fact that the magazine was adjudged second runner -up in the in-flight magazine category across the world at the 18th annual Avion Awards held in Sept 2006 by the World Airline Association ( WAEA ) at Florida, USA - a first for any in- flight magazine published from India.

AirAsia travel 3Sixty° magazine launches new look in celebration of its 10th anniversary

The magazine also unveils new travel3Sixty.com as part of AirAsia’s digitalization strategy

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 October 2017 – AirAsia’s award-winning inflight magazine, travel 3Sixty° launched a brand new look for its October issue today in conjunction with its tenth year anniversary celebration. The revamped magazine which boasts a new logo, layout, content, and overall branding, was launched by Datuk Kamarudin Meranun; Executive Chairman of AirAsia Berhad, Group CEO of AirAsia X and publisher of the magazine at Fahrenheit 88, Bukit Bintang.

Introduced in August 2007 to bring the latest in destinations, arts and culture, heritage and adventure, travel 3Sixty° now seeks to ignite wanderlust amongst the readers and inspire them to plan their dream holiday. The magazine also introduced several new sections such as The Hype, Travel Planner, Aperture and The Client’s List. Furthermore, in tandem with AirAsia’s green initiative, the magazine has also changed its paper to a lightweight matte paper that reduces weight by 20 percent, which enables better fuel consumption that will translate to better savings for AirAsia guests.

Furthermore, to complement the magazine’s sleek new look and as part of AirAsia’s continuous effort towards becoming a digital airline, the magazine unveiled a brand new travel3Sixty.com, which now incorporates a transactional feature and mobile-first- approach to further improve user’s experience, especially on-the- go users. In addition, the website allows guests to learn about new destinations faster and easier as articles, activities and deals are now destination specific so guests can access relevant information about their destination and purchase exciting activities on the go seamlessly.

Datuk Kamarudin Meranun; Executive Chairman of AirAsia Berhad, Group CEO of AirAsia X and publisher of the magazine said, “The new look and feel makes the magazine more contemporary and sleek, following the latest trends and directions in the publishing industry. Apart from refreshing the presentation style to our readers, it positions itself as a constantly evolving magazine that finds ways to satisfy the wanderlust in our readers. In addition, we also want to show our supporters and advertisers that the magazine is constantly looking at reinventing itself as a publication where quality is reflected in content and style - which will elevate the standing of the publication in the public eye.”

“In addition, as we move towards becoming a digital airline, we believe the time is right to bring even greater functionality and accessibility to travel3sixty.com, which will be the home for all our travel-related content, including trip planner. Asia Pacific boasts some of the highest mobile penetration rates in the world, and we believe these new transactional features and the ability to securely book activities online anywhere is integral to our guest experience,” he added.

Available on board all AirAsia flights, travel 3Sixty° reaches over three million readers monthly. The magazine has also amassed several awards including Best ASEAN Travel article at the 25th and 26th ASEANTA Awards, Best Tourism Photo at the 27th ASEANTA Awards for Excellence, Platinum Achievement

Award at Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Awards 2014, Eco Green in Print at Malaysia Print Awards 2017 and others. Follow the magazine’s updates on social media via Twitter (twitter.com/travel3Sixty) and Facebook (facebook.com/travel3sixty).

Praktijkverhaal

The Future of Travel

By: Rebecca Rosbourgh

Travelers are dusting off their passports, getting ready to hop on flights and itching to explore new destinations, but the world is a much different place now than the one we remember from 2019. With the holidays around the corner, travel planning is in full swing. The behaviors we saw and knew from consumers before the pandemic can no longer drive the way we think about consumers. Everything has changed and while the future of travel looks promising in the post- pandemic world, the mindset for marketers has to shift.

Here are the top 5 insights we found from our research about the future of travel:

  • Travel research has changed drastically among globetrotters
  • Safety and distance now top the list of travel concerns
  • Consumers want to travel domestically and want luxury experiences
  • Road trips made a comeback and are sticking around
  • Travel marketers should use these changes to find the right audience

Research and then research some more

When planning a trip where do you usually start? Maybe you begin by searching for the most interesting destination with a beach or the best prices for a hotel. That’s the way we used to go about planning for a trip and that’s also how advertisers found us. But these considerations have changed drastically as a result of the pandemic and a deeper dive into these new behaviors is needed.

So, what are people searching for now when they decide to plan a trip? They are looking at a completely different set of parameters, the first big one is distance. How far from home are they willing to venture? According to the data in MiQ ’s latest report, The Unlocked World? travelers are choosing to stay domestic. We found that 70% of travelers from the US, China and Australia are opting to not leave their home countries. That’s a lot of people that are looking to travel short distances but still explore a new-to-them locale.

Trip planners are also researching categories that are very pandemic-focused. We see people looking for vaccination rates in the areas they will be visiting, searching for safe accommodations, and requesting flexibility for bookings. The possibility of a refundable booking if the trip needs to be cancelled is a top priority now. Offering piece of mind to a worried traveler can be a great way to attract them to your brand.

New travel trends

A big pandemic travel trend that seems to be sticking around is the road trip, especially for travelers in the US and Canada. Over the past six months, we saw a correlation between the vaccination rates and interstate travel. If people are to continue their vacationing domestically and by car then marketers should plan to put their focus on reaching these road-trippers.

Travel interest is growing, and growing very fast. We found that 42% of people around the world plan to travel in the next six months and that rises to 60% in the next 12 months. Asian and European travelers are looking to spend more and make those vacations luxurious. More people have confidence that the pandemic risk is less and they are looking to opt for premium travel experiences. Marketers can expect spending to be higher to create memorable experiences.

With a resurgence in interest around travel, we found that over a third of audiences are still waiting to see how things are playing out with the pandemic even though they have started to plan vacations. They haven’t booked anything yet but are likely to continue their research, looking for a great deal. Marketers need to be aware of this longer term of decision making.

Know where your audience is— and where they want to go

Planning a trip is not something that happens with one internet search. You’ll have many chances to reach your audience when they are planning a trip, but you have to know where they are located.  Understanding where they are starting from is the key to a great travel campaign. If your customers are in a big city and are looking for deals for a mountain getaway, you need to know that. Understanding preferences and identifying the audience can benefit your campaigns.

As the end of 2021 approaches and holiday travel ramps up, marketers can benefit from understanding these trends to reach the right consumers. Programmatic omnichannel advertising can help advertisers to offer personalization and insights to help boost the chances of conversion for their travel campaigns. Working with a partner can help you to identify your audience in this new world of travel planning.

Will the Boom in Luxury and Wellness Travel Fizzle?

By Elaine Glusac

After the travel frenzy of 2023, all signs point to increasing interest in far-flung destinations, villa rentals, private jet bookings and personal pilgrimages in 2024.

“The lust for luxury is real,” said Jack Ezon, the founder of the high-end travel agency Embark Beyond . But, he added, mindfulness is poised to replace heedless indulgence. “Consumers today are focused on sustainability, investment value and craftsmanship when considering a luxury purchase,” he said.

“Travel provides the glue that pulls the family close together and unites it around a shared passion,” said Tom Marchant, a co-founder of Black Tomato , which plans pricey bespoke trips. Compared to 2019, 2023 bookings were up 64 percent, and demand remains strong heading into the new year.

This year, travelers are expected to choose faraway places and board small ships, according to Virtuoso , the consortium of luxury travel agencies. In June, the new 264-passenger Seabourn Pursuit from the luxury cruise line Seabourn will visit the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia (10-day voyages start around $10,000 per person). Black Tomato is planning private group treks to untrammeled destinations like the Mitre Peninsula in Argentina’s Patagonia region, priced at more than $60,000 per person.

Among luxury eco-conscious newcomers, Ki’ama Bahamas , slated to open in the fall, promises to be the first fully solar-powered residential club in the Bahamas. This month, Lepogo Lodges in South Africa will open the carbon-neutral Melote House , accommodating up to 16 guests and funneling profits back into the Lapalala Wilderness Reserve, where it is situated (nightly rates from $12,000).

Wellness travel, a market valued at over $600 billion, is expected to grow to $1.1 trillion by 2025, according to the Global Wellness Institute, a nonprofit that tracks the industry.

“Medical wellness and longevity sciences have taken over the wellness market,” said Beth McGroarty, the director of research and communications at the Global Wellness Institute. Medical procedures like bone density testing, biometric screening and stem-cell therapies are cropping up at resorts alongside low-tech programs that focus on sleep, breathing and social connection.

Travelers will have no shortage of new destinations to feed their hunger for health. In the spring, the new Ranch Hudson Valley will open near Tuxedo Park, N.Y., a spinoff of the original in Malibu, Calif., offering three-night-minimum stays and featuring colonics, cryotherapy and guided hikes (from $3,280 per person). SHA Mexico opens near Cancún in late January, with programs that address sexual health, stress reduction and sleep (minimum four-day stays start at $5,770).

Open Up Your World

Considering a trip, or just some armchair traveling here are some ideas..

Italy :  Spend 36 hours in Florence , seeking out its lesser-known pockets.

Southern California :  Skip the freeways to explore the back roads between Los Angeles and Los Olivos , a 100-mile route that meanders through mountains, canyons and star-studded enclaves.

Mongolia : Some young people, searching for less curated travel experiences, are flocking to the open spaces of this East Asian nation .
