‘Everything we do is about connection’: 50 years of Pacha and the Ibiza club scene
The Spanish island’s famed dance venue is celebrating half a century of parties and beat-making, from hippy hangout to superstar DJ rite of passage

The year was 2010, the last vestige of time in which, when the beat dropped in the club, there would be thousands of hands in the air simultaneously cutting through the laser lights instead of holding up little glowing bars to film it.
Swedish House Mafia , the superstar DJ trio comprising Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, had taken over the world with their euphoric Eurodance bangers, and those who’d managed to get into their residency night at Pacha, the superclub in Ibiza’s Mediterranean Old Town, knew that they were at the centre of the island’s best party.
But they weren’t prepared for what happened next. Pacha’s twin cherry logos glowed red and, suddenly, on a platform before the crowd appeared none other than Kylie Minogue, delivering an impromptu reworking of Can’t Get You Out of My Head , the irresistible beats of which now came courtesy of Swedish House Mafia.
“It was an explosion. Nobody knew it was going to happen,” says Francisco Ferrer, a local man who started working for Pacha in 1985 selling tickets and would become its global brand ambassador. “You could feel the happiness of people around the room,” he says. “It’s a big memory.” He had devised the performance with Kylie, who enjoyed the club so much she would often go incognito with her friends to dance in the middle of the crowd.
Ferrer and I are speaking inside an eerily empty Pacha while technicians tinker away in the DJ booth. In just a few hours’ time, the doors will open to thousands of clubbers for the nightclub’s opening party, heralding the unofficial start of the season. Opening party weekend here is always a big one, but as it’s Pacha’s 50th anniversary, tonight will be particularly exceptional. The anniversary marks not just five decades of the island’s oldest club, but of Ibiza partying itself.
When Ferrer was born in 1964, just a few hundred yards away from Pacha, Ibiza was a remote island unknown to many in the rest of Europe. But the seeds of its identity as a hedonistic, free and inclusive paradise had already begun to germinate. Word spread of a mythical white island with irrepressible natural beauty that had become Spain’s unofficial refuge from General Franco’s fascist government.
Ibiza soon drew the first hippies and beatniks from the US who were fleeing conscription from the Vietnam war, instead forming free-love communes and throwing raves in the rugged centre and north of the island. In Eivissa Town, across the marina from Pacha, the Calle de la Virgen street was a hallowed LGBTQ+ sanctuary.
A young entrepreneur named Ricardo Urgell, having already founded the first Pacha nightclub in Sitges, Catalonia, visited Ibiza in the early 70s and was determined to create the first official discotheque there. Ignoring financial advisers who complained that a bunch of hippies was too small a group of people to cater for, Urgell converted an old whitewashed farmhouse into a party palace and, in 1973, Pacha Ibiza was born.
Flower Power, the club’s earliest themed night, is still going to this day – playing 60s and 70s music. Resplendent with daisies and peace signs, the farmhouse once famously played Imagine while an elevated bed made its way through the crowd, upon which languished a pair of joint-smoking John Lennon and Yoko Ono impersonators.
At another Flower Power night, Ferrer remembers finding Mick Jagger – the real one – in an empty room. Old Snake Hips was alone, swaying, in the centre of the dancefloor, absorbed in the music. “Do you want something to drink?” Ferrer asked him, tentatively. “No,” Jagger replied. “I’m here to listen to this music. I’m alone here; nobody can disturb me and I can dance and be myself.”
By the 1980s and 90s, Ibiza was the island of personalities, and Pacha, as the sassiest, glitziest club, was “the place to be and be seen”. Any celebrity worth their salt partied there. Grace Jones was always cutting shapes while a slew of designers – Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier – and their entourages packed out the VIP booths with gold jewellery and haughty smiles.
The concept of a “superstar DJ” did not yet exist, which meant the crowd and the club itself were the spectacle. Palm trees. Chandeliers of fireworks. Confetti explosions. Smoke cannon. Strobe lights. Fire-breathers. And as well as the ravers, there were the go-go dancers: beautiful women and men complementing the aural fiesta.
“It was freeness,” recalls Ferrer. “You met a lot of people because maybe you are dancing and meet people next to you, then begin to speak to them, you know? There was no telephone, there was no Instagram. It was natural. Now society is very performing.”
By the late 1980s, house music was permeating from the turntables of Frankie Knuckles and Marshall Jefferson in Chicago warehouse raves. These infectious 120bpm sounds soon landed on the shores of the White Isle, where the hedonism of Pacha, Amnesia and Ku Club (the biggest club in the world, later renamed Privilege) had reached its zenith – enough to influence four British blokes to import elements of the scene to the UK.
Paul Oakenfold, Johnny Walker, Nicky Holloway and Danny Rampling were blown away in 1987 by the Balearic beats, raves that lasted for days, and their first ecstasy experiences. As soon as they landed back in London they launched their own club nights, Spectrum, Shoom and The Trip, and what happened next is well-worn UK house history : illegal raves, ecstasy, the Smiley face, tabloid hysteria and the 1988 “second summer of love”.
The next chapter is considered by many Britons (but perhaps by fewer Spaniards) as the “golden era” of Ibiza – all despite the insalubrious 18-30s package holidays, turbo-shandies on San Antonio’s strip and “Brits abroad” behaviour as captured by the Ibiza Uncovered TV series.
The songs of the 1990s are timeless: Café Del Mar by Energy 52; Music Sounds Better With You by Stardust; 9PM (Till I Come) by ATB; Children by Robert Miles; You Don’t Know Me by Armand Van Helden, and; Needin’ U, from Pacha’s resident DJ, David Morales. By then, the aftershocks of the ’Beefa boom were reverberating around the world.
The 00s, however, were when Pacha hit its commercial peak. It was one of the first major clubs to book David Guetta, who, despite having now amassed 10 million album sales, was paid for his first sets with the money Ferrer and his crew made from selling branded T-shirts that day. In the first year of the new millennium, Paul Oakenfold was a resident DJ, playing mammoth sets lasting until 9am. And the British invasion was cemented with Darren Emerson’s Underwater nights and sets from Paul Woolford and X Press 2 and Groove Armada.
For Simon Dunmore, the founder and former CEO of Defected Records, the label that hosted a summer-long season at Pacha for eight years between 2005 to 2012, the 00s was “the rise of the superclubs”.
“It was the early days of the internet, and reputations grew over that period of time because people were way more connected,” he says.
Dunmore’s most memorable Pacha moment was in 2001, when Defected had released Roger Sanchez’s Another Chance , which was at No 1 in the UK singles chart. Dunmore describes the goosebumps moment in the club when Sanchez “looped up the beginning of the chords and teased it in for a couple of minutes.
“When the record eventually came in, the club just exploded,” he recalls. “The head of music at Radio 1 was there and we ended up hugging each other,” he says, adding: “It’s mad isn’t it, how music brings people together?”
The subsequent decade saw previously underground electronic music enter the mainstream, and cemented Ibiza’s reputation as a rite of passage for any dance music fan. Yet the commercialisation of dance saw aspects of the island fall victim to rampant capitalism, notably through eye-watering drinks prices, a ballooning VIP culture and overcrowding on the dancefloors.
The balance between Ibiza’s outlaw heritage and modern gloss is an ongoing issue. There are distinctly more private jets and yachts than in yesteryear, but Sanjay Nandi, the CEO of Pacha Group, believes people of all demographics are still attracted to the island. “It’s not possible to fill superclubs entirely with high-net-worth individuals,” he says.
Last month, at its 50th opening season party, the Pacha crew and progenitors of those cheeky red cherries were looking ahead to many more decades of decadence to come. Multiplatinum British DJ duo CamelPhat have joined the 2023 residency billing alongside a heterogeneous music programme that includes the desert sounds of Bedouin, the techno of Marco Carola and, of course, the 60s and 70s grooves of the Flower Power night.
Yet while Pacha diversifies, Jessica Capaz McCarthy, Pacha Group’s artistic director, argues the club’s ethos will remain the same. “I feel like when you go to a nightclub it’s all about the feeling of connection, and everything we do is about connection,” she says. “That’s what makes people feel like they had the best night of their lives.”

50 years of Pacha: Ibiza’s glamorous super club
By Charlotte Gunn
“Imagine turning up to a discotheque in Ibiza in 1984, 19 years old. You arrive at the main door, and it’s all full of sand. There is a boat. The dancefloor is filled with little plastic swimming pools of water. The staff are dressed in beach clothes, with towels and sunglasses . My mind was blown.” Francisco Ferrer, Pacha’s long-standing and loveable Brand Director, recalls his earliest memory of the Ibizan superclub. It was a moment that would come to define his life. A year later, he would be hired by Pacha, where he would work for the next 38 years, hosting the planet’s partying elite and maintaining its unwavering status as one of the world’s most iconic discotheques.
We meet Francisco today inside an empty Pacha on the day the club will reopen for its 50th season. Like the rest of the “Pacha family”, Francisco is nervously prepping for a sold-out opening night. The venue feels smaller than its 3000 capacity in daylight – its farmhouse aesthetic is unassuming. But fast forward 12 hours, and the place is transformed into a pounding superclub, with world-renowned DJ Solumon on the decks all night long. From the VIP area that hugs the dancefloor, where Pacha-themed magnums of Cristal are ceremonially popped, right down to the throng of the crowd, partygoers have packed in for a bite of Pacha’s cherries. It’s the hottest ticket in town.
But how does a club built in the 1970s on hippy sensibilities of freedom and family survive for five decades? Opened in 1973 by entrepreneur Ricardo Urgell at a time when horses and carts still clip-clopped down Ibiza’s sleepy streets , the White Isle was already becoming something of a counter-cultural hub: an accepting home for Vietnam draft dodgers and Spaniards fleeing General Franco’s oppressive regime. Pacha’s opening night hosted just 300 people – mostly friends of Urgell’s, dressed in flowers and flares and head scarves, dancing to a mix of funk, reggae and disco.
Today, Pacha’s original FlowerPower night is still running, but otherwise, the club has evolved, ushering in Chicago House in the 1980s, 1990s rave and the age of the Superstar DJ in the aughts and beyond. But one thing has remained – Pacha’s elite status and international draw for some of the world’s most exclusive partygoers.

“What’s always made Pacha so special was the real club-heads on the dancefloor and the glamour of the VIP,” says DJ Pete Tong, whose Pure Pacha residency began in 2003. “The proximity of the VIP area to the dancefloor’s chaos is unique. In the early 2000s, a new kind of VIP client emerged – they were table people but wanted good quality music.”
Even now, Tong still plays at the club but cites those early Pure Pacha days as some of the most formative of his life. “I’m not someone who always says things were better in the past, but it was a magical time,” he remembers. “I was twenty years younger, and you were in Pacha from one o’clock until eight. Then you’d come out of a dark club into bright sunshine – we’d call it the walk of shame – and go on to an after-party or something. I think that’s why I’m still involved in the club today, because of how magical that first residency was.”
Pacha’s famous red book was Tong’s inspiration behind his Pure Pacha night. “The book was amazing – they’re doing a new version for the 50th anniversary. It had all these glamorous photos from when it opened in ‘73 and through the 1980s. It was like flicking through a copy of Vogue – glamorous photos of Ursula Andress alongside Spanish royalty. Pure Pacha was about bringing some of that glamour back to the club.”
Ferrer knows what mingling with the upper echelons of society is like all too well; his phone book is reportedly packed with A-list clientele. “In the 1980s, Grace Jones was coming here, Freddie Mercury was living in Ibiza, all the designers: Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier, I know all of them – they all come here,” he recalls with a smile. “One day, Mick Jagger was dancing alone on the dancefloor, and I went to him and said: ‘Do you need something?’ and he said ‘No, no. I am so happy, nobody knows me now. I can dance and be myself, and when the people arrive, I will go.” Stories like this are two a penny, of Leonardo DiCaprio, Penelope Cruz, and Javier Bardem all blowing off steam inside Pacha’s exposed brick walls.
Simon Dunmore of Defected Records, which held a residency at Pacha for eight years between 2005-2013, recognises Pacha’s unique appeal. Pacha offered something different on an island that became a hot spot for young British clubbers. “Pacha always had a chicness about it,” he says. “There was a fashion element and a flamboyance to it – along with a well-curated musical policy.” The VIP and its placement, wrapping around the dancefloor, was core to creating a vibe. “I always likened it to Gladiators in Roman times,” Dunmore laughs. “You had the Caesars in the heights, up in the VIP, but all the action was on the dancefloor, and people were watching with an element of voyeurism.”
These days, Pacha is so much more than the old farmhouse that Urgell transformed in the 1970s. Its high-end appeal has allowed the brand to expand into restaurants , hotels, apparel, cabaret and, of course, more clubs in Ibiza and beyond. I stay at the stylish Pacha-owned hotel, Destino, while on the island – think crisp white decor, high-end sushi and chilled-out poolside beats. The group plans to bring its Lio cabaret and dining brand to the former site of the iconic Tito’s on Mallorca in the coming years – a club with a 90-year history.
Pacha is also preparing to open a new club, Pachacha, on little-sister Balearic (and Kate Moss’s favourite holiday destination) Formentera . An altogether sleepier getaway, Formentera’s Caribbean-blue waters and lack of big hotels make it a far cry from the Brits Abroad reputation of Ibiza’s San Antonio. Pacha has tentatively been making moves there for a couple of years. In 2021, it opened Casa Pacha , a low-key beach hotel more suited for hideouts than hedonism. Locals are keen the island remains that way. Still, the team stresses that Pachacha won’t be another Pacha – just a place for people to let their hair down and embrace the freedom that has been intrinsic in Balearic culture long before the superclubs came to town.
For Pacha to persevere with expansion plans throughout the pandemic took confidence in its legacy and future. Their post-Covid season saw sales up 40 per cent on 2019. “We’re a brand that means something to people,” says CEO Sanjay Nandi, a Private Equity guy who joined the group in 2017 after seeing the potential in Pacha’s heritage. “Everyone has a Pacha story or a T-shirt with cherries on,” he says confidently. “So it’s important that we continue that journey. How we remain relevant and successful in the next 50 years is by being able to embrace changes in technology, and new trends, looking forward but also keeping our value system in place. If you say: ‘No, I’m only going to do this, because I’ve always done it this way’, that’s the end.”
DJ duo Camelphat will take on the club’s iconic residency this summer. “This is a massive opportunity for us, says Camelphat’s Dave Whelan. “With the pandemic and previously working at an outdoor daytime venue, we haven’t played an Ibiza nightclub since 2019. This is where we belong: playing three/four/five-hour sets until morning, taking people on an electronic trip.”
And while the DJs may not be the same as they were 50 years ago, according to Ferrer, some things never change. “I have to say, I don’t always like the music,” he admits of the club’s adoption of new genres such as reggaeton. “But when I come here, I see the energy. Everybody is happy, with no drugs – well, there are drugs all around the world – but there’s happiness here. Everyone moves; there’s energy. This is Pacha, you know? Trying to be the first, yes, but always just trying to be ourselves.”

50 Years of Pacha, the Club That Changed Ibiza Forever
By Amelia Abraham
When Ricardo Urgell first opened the nightclub Pacha in Catalonia in the late 1960s, he took its name from a comment his first wife made: she told him that with the money he was going to earn, he would live like a pachá, an Arabian prince. By 1973, he had opened Pacha Ibiza, now the Balearic island ’s most legendary after-dark hotspot. The sentiment of the name held: those paying a visit to Pacha’s dancefloor over the decades went in search of the good life—united by a love of hedonism, glamour, and spiritual escape through music.
Still, back in the ’70s, the home of Pacha—Ses Feixes, facing Ibiza Town from across the port—was mostly farmland, and Pacha itself looked very different from the “superclub” many know today. Designed by Urgell to look like a classic finca—an Ibizan farmhouse with white dry stone and mortar walls and wooden interiors—the building was fairly unassuming.
But a sense of freedom filled the air, explains Francisco Ferrer , a born and bred Ibizan who has worked at Pacha for decades. The relative isolation meant that the club could be open air and music could play until sunrise. There was a swimming pool, and guests would strip off and jump in. “It was another time, before smartphones—people weren’t thinking about selfies,” Ferrer adds.
Ibiza had still yet to become known as a clubbing capital, but it was considered a bohemian haven. In the late 1970s, Bob Marley visited; earlier in the decade, Joni Mitchell composed her album Blue there. The island also drew draft evaders from the Vietnam War, and pacifists escaping the Franco dictatorship. At Pacha, the florals, silk shirts, and flares that defined the decade were shed to reveal shell necklaces, crochet swimsuits, or just gold body glitter. Following Pacha’s lead, other clubs began to open, including Glory’s and Es Paradis, which would pave the way for the island’s boom period in the ’80s, defined by its extravagance—think professional dancers in the club, and visitors like Grace Jones.

“It was 1986 when I first came to the island,” remembers Simon Dunmore, founder of Defected Records. “[British DJ and producer] Nicky Holloway had a list of like-minded clubbers—about 200 people. We met in San Antonio, and Nicky would go to local bars and ask if we could play records. We were dancing to rare groove and hip-hop in places like Cafe Del Mar. We’d watch the sunset then go out clubbing all night.”
Legendary DJ Pete Tong, who currently sits on Pacha’s executive board, first visited around the same time—the era that DJs Paul Oakenfold, Johnny Walker, Danny Rampling, and Holloway also took the famous trip to Ibiza that is credited with birthing rave culture. They discovered the club Amnesia, ecstasy was everywhere, and it wouldn’t have been uncommon to see people making love on the dancefloor in garish neons and baggy jeans.
The ripple effect of the Ibiza club scene was huge; Oakenfold, Walker, Rampling, and Holloway brought the island’s blend of Chicago House and Balearic music back home to Britain with them, while visitors flocked from Europe to feel the freedom. “Pacha was always there,” says Tong, but during this period it began to “fade into the background slightly” especially “in comparison to edgier and more ravey clubs like Manumission and Space.”
The millennium marked Pacha’s revival period, however: Eric Murillo joined the lineup, and Paul Oakenfold had a night, which Tong then took over with Pure Pacha, a residency that lasted ten years. “Pacha had almost been the most glamorous, the most Spanish, the most Latin,” he says. “International, classy. You had the legacy of Hollywood glamour and Spanish royalty coming over in the ’70s and ’80s. I wanted to bring back the heritage, the feeling of dressing up, the spirit of what Pacha had been at the beginning.”
By the 2010s, Pacha had moved more into the EDM space and became a franchise, with clubs opening in New York, London, and several other cities. “It got messy,” Jessica McCarthy Capaz , artistic director of Pacha, remembers. “It’s not just about the cherry logo, it’s about content, operations, service. Some of the new Pacha clubs did a good job, Buenos Aires was amazing, for example, others less so.” By 2017, new ownership decided to close the franchises. Capaz herself wanted to take Pacha in another direction, to leave behind the EDM big room sound and “go back to basics, what Pacha was famous for—house music—and Solomon, Dixon, and Bob Sinclair brought back those more organic, warm, sexy sounds.”
This June marks the fiftieth anniversary of the club—and five decades of defining both club culture and style. At the 2023 opening party, the room hits capacity as Solomon headlines from the new DJ booth, installed to update the space and to swap a raised pulpit above the dancefloor to a booth into the center of the club, and the middle of the crowd and action. The VIP area is sprawling, with burly waiters in black T-shirts carrying champagne bottles with sparklers, and emblazoned with the club’s famous logo. Tickets aren’t cheap, but as Ferrer points out, DJs have put their prices up; plus, there’s the new sound system and its complex but impressive architectural design above the dancefloor. In VIP, you’re paying for that “Mediterranean sense of hospitality,” he adds, and true to form, on opening night, he seems to know everyone.
The club is so busy, the atmosphere feels both chaotic and exhilarating—outside of the VIP area, a place to sit is hard to come by—but most visitors are more concerned with dancing until the club closes at 7 a.m. Drugs and sex are absent (or at least, not visible) and the hippy attire of yesteryear has had an update: the women wear short, tight dresses, men more laidback in Gucci and Palace, or linen shirts and Armani for the more mature crowd. As well as the nooks, crannies, smoking area, and terrace filled with roaming clubbers, there’s also a restaurant on-site for those seeking a more formal experience, or for the older Pacha clientele who want to soak up the atmosphere from a distance. Ferrier explains over the pumping music that he once met three generations of the same family in the club.
The season will run from May until October, with the usual roster of rotating nights; from “Flower Power”, paying homage to the club’s hippy history, to a “psychedelic burning man,” to a masquerade. (Think Eyes Wide Shut in a club setting.) “Every night is different,” says Capaz, “people don’t go to the same club two nights in a row, so we have different nights to attract different crowds, to make it accessible to everyone.”
In line with this philosophy, Pacha’s focus for the future is on expanding. Lío—a dining and cabaret experience that has been entertaining guests for over a decade in Ibiza—is set to be rolled out around the world, while the glitz of the main roster of clubs will soon be offset with Pachacha in Formentera, a cozy 400-capacity space that invites local DJs to play vinyl. Pacha’s open-air parties at their Ibiza venues 528 and Destino, meanwhile, cater to a generation of clubbers who are interested in day parties, so they can get to bed early and balance clubbing with the growing desire for a wellness experience.
“People have always come to Ibiza for that spiritual experience,” concludes Dunmore. “There’s the part in the north [of the island], which we associate with wellbeing and yoga retreats, and then the south, the community element where people plan their holidays around meeting people and having a shared experience at the clubs. That balance has always resonated with me. Maybe that explains why I’ve gone back every year since 1986.”
Beyond this sense of balance, Dunmore puts Ibiza’s appeal down to the offering of escape—one that still feels as relevant now as it did when the club first opened half a century ago. “Back in the day, it was a place for people who felt like they needed to get away from being repressed—where creatives and fashion and party people used to go in the summers and dance to Alfredo at open-air clubs,” he says. “They were incredibly vibrant times. The island has changed, sure, but it still has that spiritual element. That magnetism.”

- How it works
AVINGUDA 8 D'AGOST, 07800 IBIZA, ISLAS BALEARES
Opening hours:, 11:59 pm - 6:00 am.
“Pacha may not be the oldest, biggest, or even the most exotic, but it certainly is the most authentic, the most charismatic, and purest of them all!” “No es el Pacha más antiguo ni el más moderno, no es el más grande ni tampoco el más exótico, pero es el más auténtico, el más carismático, el más puro”... it is a short description about Pacha club, given by its owners. Would you like to be a part of this atmosphere? Just take a taxi from Ibiza Town, from Playa d'en Bossa or from San Antonio, or you can also walk from Ibiza Town about 10-15 minutes (enjoying in beautiful views of Marina along the way). Pacha is the part of the Pacha Group, which is a Spanish holding company, specialized in the leisure, entertainment and hospitality businesses. The Company was founded in 1966 and, until now days, the parts of the group became: Pacha Magazine (bi-lingual magazine for Ibiza’s entertainment scene), Pachashop.com, where you can buy online perfumes, clothing and accessories for men, women and children, based on Ibiza’s “ultra-free” life-style, CDs of the best music collections from the Pacha’s parties and DJs performances, then Destino Ibiza Resort, El Hotel Pacha and Restaurant & Cabaret Lío. The famous logo and the sign of recognizing the Pacha’s brand is a cherry. As one of the owners had explained, a juicy cherry represent simple but fresh styling of Pacha’s nights. Pacha is the earliest club in Ibiza. The first Pacha club was founded in 1967, in the beach town of Sitges, near Barcelona. After that were founded five more clubs along the Catalan Coast. As many farmhouses – fincas in Spanish, also one big farmhouse had been converted into a big discothèque, therefore Pacha was born in 1973. It is located in east of Ibiza Town and it became the most dominant club on the island, also famous as an international clubbing brand, mostly for its elegance, luxury and unique style. On the beginning, the club needed only 300 watts for emitting good rock’n’roll music for young hippie visitors. Today, it needs around 60 000 watts. Crazy summer nights in this world famous club, with the best DJs, such as Bob Sinclair, David Guetta, Willie Graff, Graham Sahara etc, will make your holiday full-scaled. The club organizes different types of parties throughout the year, such as: The Paris by Night with Bob Sinclar, supported by DJs such as Louie Vega, Erik Hagleton, Nico de Andrea, Lunnas, Martin Solveig, DJ Gregory, DJ Yellow, 2manydjs, Maribou State, Duke Dumont etc, then, David Guetta and friends with the parties called F*** me, I’m famous, supported by DJs, such as Robin Schulz, Morten, JP Candela, Afrojack, Abel Ramos, Albert Neve. The most popular party is, so-called, Flower Party, where you will enter in a “time machine”, going back to the 60’s and 70’s, in the golden hippie times. As the term Flower power was a slogan used during the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, as a symbol of passive resistance and non-violence ideology, the owners was inspired by this name for naming the Flower Party. It is symbolized by many flowers, symbols of peace and many people come dressed up in colorful flower shirts. Perhaps you’ll be lucky to be there during some of the Flower Parties feat Bob Sinclair, feat David Guetta, feat Erick Morillo or feat Loui Vega. The club organizes the last Flower Party of the year always in October. The club is composted by 5 rooms, for around 3000 persons – the biggest is the Main Room, for those who are lovers of house and techno music, with the main dance floor in the center, with bars and VIP area, where you can have view to the DJs and the rest of area. The Funky Room is the right place for those who prefer disco and funky music from 70’s and 80’s. On the Roof Terrace you can have some chill out moments, drinking cocktails and watching the stars. Then you can step in downstairs features of Sweet Pacha, just next to the restaurant located on the terrace, where you can enjoy the best retro pop music. The Global Room, which was the first main room when Pacha was opened in 1973, is the fifth room, where the best DJs play the best R&B and hip-hop hits, and where sometimes you can listen to an excellent live music. Opposite of the club is located El Hotel Pacha, the part of the Pacha Group, so you can stay there, if you want to enjoy a real luxury. If you go to Ibiza, enjoy Pacha’s fresh and sweet nights! Sweet like cherries!
THE DRESS CODE
The dresscode at Pacha Ibiza isn't a really strict one in general but if you will be part of a booked table you should step up your game!
Girls can get in wearing a casual outfit, a pair of skinny pants/jeans with a elegant, sexy blouse or shirt. High heels are always the best choice, if you are really tall you might get in wearing flats but nothing sporty. If you're joining a booked table in the VIP areas you have to wear a dress.
Men should wear a nice pair of pants, jeans, elegant ones not ripped off! Shirts are a must, you might get in wearing a really nice t-shirt but it's unlikely. Have a pair of casual or formal shoes, sneakers or flip flops are not allowed.
Even though it's a club in Ibiza swimwear and beach outfits won't get in. Dress to impress!

The fact that this will be Anitta’s first bona fide tour outside Brazil may surprise fans, as the singer seems to be everywhere all at once. In 2022, she became the first female Brazilian act to perform at Coachella, and at the end of 2023 she headlined TikTok’s in the Mix, playing for 17,000 fans at Sloan Park in Mesa, AZ. She also closed out the year with her hit “Bellakeo” alongside Peso Pluma, which has spent 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 53.
The tour will follow the release of Anitta’s new album, Funk Generation , due out on April 26 via Republic Records/Universal Music Latin Entertainment.
Funk Generation follows Anitta’s three-track bundle, Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story, which was released in 2023 as a precursor to the new album.

About Anitta
Since breaking through in Brazil, GRAMMY-nominated global superstar Anitta has become the leading artist of a new generation of Latin American music. Anitta’s single, “Envolver” (2022), became the biggest solo debut by a Brazilian artist in the history of the Spotify Global Chart and broke Anitta’s record by reaching #1 on iTunes in 19 countries. She released her album Versions of Me in April 2022 and went on to earn the highly coveted Best New Artist GRAMMY nomination for the 65th GRAMMY Awards (2023). The 15-track album was released in Spanish, English, and Portuguese and holds the record of biggest streaming week for a Brazilian artist on Spotify. It now has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. Anitta is the first Brazilian artist with 35 million monthly listeners in Spotify history and the Brazilian female artist with the most charting songs in Hot 100 history. In 2022 she won a MTV Music Video Award® in the category of “Best Latin” for “Envolver,” further making history and earning her second Guinness World Record as the “first Brazilian solo artist to win the MTV VMA for Best Latin (female).” The win followed an explosive performance by Anitta, who made her VMA broadcast performance debut with “Envolver.” Starting in 2014, Anitta was named “Best Brazilian Act” at the MTV Europe Music Awards for five consecutive years. Last year, Anitta took home her second MTV Music Video Award® for “Best Latin.” At the forefront of introducing Brazilian Funk to the world, in 2023 Anitta released Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story, featuring the single “Mil Veces,” followed by the release of “BELLAKEO” with Peso Pluma, which is now her highest charting song on the Hot 100. Anitta closed out the year by releasing “Joga pra Lua”, a single with the perfect mix of funk carioca with electronic music. These releases tease what’s to come from her highly anticipated forthcoming album, Funk Generation, which will be released April 26th.
