Book an unforgettable Asian cruise, where every day is a new adventure, and every destination offers a world of possibilities. Discover the magic of the Far East and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Some of the most popular cruise destinations in Asia & Far East are:
Hong Kong epitomises a cultural melting pot, where a glistening harbour sets the stage for towering skyscrapers, while the vibrant nightlife of Lan Kwai Fong contrasts with the wholesome family fun of Disneyland.
Taiwan, a captivating Far Eastern gem, boasts fascinating culture, bustling food markets, and sandy beaches. Ascend the iconic Taipei 101 for a breathtaking city view or head to Elephant Mountain at sunset for a golden glow over the metropolis.
Catch the city’s day-to-night transformation from the top of N Seoul Tower at sunset. Delve into traditional South Korean culture by touring Bukchon Hanok village. There’s so much to do in Asia’s coolest city.
When is the best time to visit Asia & the Far East?
The best time to take a cruise holiday to Asia & the Far East depends on the region you want to explore and the specific experiences you’re seeking, as this vast continent experiences a wide range of climates and weather patterns.
Generally, the ideal time to visit much of Southeast Asia, including popular destinations like Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, is during the dry season, which typically falls between November and April, when the weather is warm and rainfall is minimal. In contrast, countries in South Asia, such as India and Sri Lanka, are best visited from late October to early March to avoid scorching summer temperatures and monsoon rains.
Northern parts of Asia, like Japan and South Korea, are fantastic during cherry blossom season in spring or when vibrant autumn foliage blankets the landscapes. Ultimately, the best time to visit Asia will depend on your personal preferences, desired activities, and the specific experiences you seek in this diverse and captivating continent.
It’s also essential to consider factors like local holidays, festivals and peak tourist seasons. It’s always a good idea to consult with one of our cruise agents who will give you the best advice!

The largest continent on Earth, Asia is a dream come true for would-be adventurers. Spellbinding scenery, magnificent monuments, wondrous wildlife and mega metropolises can all be discovered in the lands of this incredible region, and there’s no better way to do so than on a once-in-a-lifetime luxury cruise holiday. Each itinerary offers something different, with a myriad of inspiring ports of call to choose from and enriching shore excursions to enjoy. Savour a taste of the tropics sailing around Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, taking in beautiful beaches, glorious golden temples, lush landscapes and intoxicating cityscapes. Embrace the buzz of Bangkok, relax on the beach in Bali, or gaze in wonder at the skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur. Further north, the shores of Vietnam have plenty to offer in the way of history, culture and cuisine. Explore the country’s turbulent past in Ho Chi Minh, or cruise into Halong Bay to enjoy the beauty of this enchanting UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring amazing limestone rock formations rising out of the emerald waters. Cambodia is another captivating destination, and the majestic temples of Angkor Wat are an incredible sight to behold, appearing amidst the verdant jungle scenery close to the city of Siem Reap. The magic of Asia doesn’t stop there, however, with still more to explore in ports of call along the coasts of China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Japan and South Korea. The futuristic cities of Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai are sure to dazzle, while Beijing, Manilla, Taipei and Hiroshima offer much in the way of history, culture and architecture. Each and every Asia cruise destination offers something extraordinary. Choose the itinerary that’s perfect for you and chart a course for a land full of beauty and wonder.
Food & Drink
A luxury cruise in Asia promises a spectrum of wonderful flavours and unbelievable cuisines. From sensational sushi and sake in Japan, to delicious dim sum and dumplings in China, there’s an endless menu of traditional delicacies to enjoy wherever you choose to visit.
Set sail to Thailand for tantalising curries and pad Thai, or stop off in Vietnam for fabulous pho. Sip on Singapore Slings in, well, Singapore, or snack on satay in Indonesia. Whether you like a touch of spice, a sweet treat or a satisfying savoury bite, you’ll find all this and more in the restaurants, cafes and street food stalls that await in every port of call.
So, chart a course for Asia and discover the delectable dishes and mouthwatering culinary creations on the menu right across this captivating continent.
The best time for a luxury Asian cruise holiday is completely down to preference, depending on where you wish to visit and the activities and scenery you want to enjoy. If Japan forms part of your cruise agenda, you might wish to time your stop to coincide with blossoming cherry, sakura or plum trees in the spring. Alternatively, the autumn months of September to November provide another spectacle of colour, with Japanese maples, ginkgos and ash trees turning yellow, orange, red and purple. Anyone wishing to visit nations further south, such as Vietnam and Cambodia, may seek to avoid the monsoon season from May to October. This also coincides with the summer months when the weather can be uncomfortably hot and humid. A better time to drop anchor in these destinations is from November to April, when temperatures are cooler and you are less likely to experience rain. This is also a great time to chart a course for the beaches of Thailand, being the warmest and driest period of the year in the Land of Smiles.
Things To See and Do
Exhilarating sights and inspiring attractions are waiting to be discovered at every stop on your Asia cruise adventure. From captivating temples and magnificent landmarks, to natural wonders and futuristic cities, this magnificent continent has to be experienced to be believed. Wherever your cruise itinerary takes you, you are sure to discover scenery, structures and shrines that will take your breath away. Bask in the sun on the palm-fringed beaches of Thailand, Bali or Vietnam. Be dazzled by the futuristic skyscrapers of Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Explore historic landmarks in Hiroshima, Ho Chi Minh or Beijing. No matter where you drop anchor, you’re sure to be amazed by the phenomenal attractions on offer. You can also go in search of incredible wildlife, seek out some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, trek up towering volcanoes and gaze on glittering palaces. Whatever your preference, your Asia cruise holiday will be full of magical moments that will be remembered forever.

Marella UK's Asia & Middle East cruises (ship Discovery 2) canceled due to Red Sea crisis
TUI has made the decision to cancel Marella Cruises UK 's Asia and Middle East program from November 2024 to the end of April 2025.
In a communication to customers, TUI UK & Ireland cited the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea as the reason for the cancellations, stating that the situation posed significant risks for sea travel to and from Asia.
Despite exploring alternative routes, TUI mentioned that viable options were scarce. Consequently, the Asia and Middle East program for the upcoming winter season has been called off. This decision follows Marella's previous cancellation of Discovery 2 ship 's relocation voyages (RepositionCruises.com) originally scheduled for April and May, due to the risks associated with transporting passengers from Asia to Europe via the Red Sea.
For now, Marella UK doesn't have any Asia or Middle East cruises available for booking, and there is no indication of the deployment plans for Discovery 2 next winter.
Guests affected by the cancellations have the option to rebook another cruise with a GBP 200 per person discount before April 29, 2024, or to cancel and receive a full refund.
TUI emphasized the priority of customer and crew safety , reiterating the decision to cancel the program due to the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea area. TUI expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to affected customers and assured them that they would be contacted by their booking agents to discuss available options, including rebooking with a discount or receiving a full refund.

Marella Cruises has cancelled its 2024-25 Asia and Middle East programme due to ongoing conflict in the Red Sea.
The line said it was a “difficult decision” to cancel the sailings scheduled to depart between November 1 and April 30, 2025, but it has done so “for the safety of our customers and crew”.
Affected passengers will be given the option of either a full refund or rebooking with a £200 discount.
The line has not yet confirmed new deployment plans.
A spokesperson said: “We appreciate how disappointing this news will be and, therefore, all impacted customers will be contacted by their booking agent to discuss the options available to them.
“Options include being able to rebook with a £200 per person reduction or receive a full refund.
“Once again we apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience caused to impacted customers and we hope to see them on board a Marella Cruise very soon.”

Marella Cruises cancels winter 2024/25 Asia and Middle East programme
TUI has cancelled in-house cruise line Marella’s Asia and Middle East programme from November 2024 to the end of April 2025.
In a message sent to customers, seen by Travel Gossip, TUI said the cancellations were due to the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea.
It said: “Unfortunately, the ongoing conflict shows no signs of stabilising and continues to make travelling to and from Asia by sea high risk.”
TUI said it had been looking at ‘alternative routes’ to Asia, but added its options were ‘extremely limited’.
As a result, it said it had cancelled its Asia and Middle East programme for next winter. Marella had previously cancelled Discovery 2’s repositioning cruises , which were due to take place this month and next, due to the risk of transporting passengers from Asia to Europe via the Red Sea.
Marella currently has no Asia or Middle East cruises available to book and it has given no indication of where it will deploy Discovery 2 next winter instead.
Guests on the cancelled cruises can rebook another cruise with a £200 per person discount before 29 April 2024, or cancel and receive a full refund.
In a statement sent to Travel Gossip, TUI said: “For the safety of our customers and crew, we can confirm that due to the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea area we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Asia and Middle East programme between 1 November 2024 – 30 April 2025.
“We appreciate how disappointing this news will be and therefore all impacted customers will be contacted by their booking agent to discuss the options available to them. Options include being able to rebook with a £200 per person reduction or receive a full refund
