Great for kids and adults, and really a must-see! We came on a Friday and spent an hour here going through the displays, watching the factory in operation, and completing the scavenger hunt. Adult admission is $5 and includes a free lanyard, $2 store credit, and an opportunity to win a free Pez dispenser if you complete the scavenger hunt (chosen by spinning a wheel!). I found the history of Pez to be really interesting and I especially enjoyed seeing the antique Pez dispensers and those from around the world. The collection is extensive and there's several interactive displays. Highly recommend!

The Pez Visitor Center was a fun place to visit and includes all kinds of unique collections of Pez dispensers and Pez memorabilia. Additionally, it appears that there is a production related distribution/fulfillment unit towards the back of the center where employees are getting product out to customers, kind of interesting to see. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area and are interested in Pez and Pez related products. Cheers!

We stayed at a hotel down the street and saw the Pez on the street sign and immediately had to look into it. We had most of the day to kill before a wedding and went to check it out. It was so much fun! I was a little salty because others in my party kept finding the scavenger hunt items despite my best attempt to split up and find one. There were other little challenges sprinkled along the way. We spent more time than I could have imagined and it brought back lots of childhood memories. Definitely recommend!

Very cool and unique spot in CT! Admission is only $5 for adults (and $4 for children 3-12 years), so you really can't go wrong. You also get a free PEZ lanyard and a $2.00 coupon for anything you buy from the gift shop (must be used on the same day). Inside you'll see the world's largest PEZ dispenser, learn the history of PEZ candy, and can check out all the different PEZ dispensers that were made throughout history. There are trivia questions and interactives along the way. On the first floor, along with the PEZ dispensers from throughout history, is the gift shop (with many different PEZ dispensers for sale), a self-serve PEZ station (which has cups you can fill with PEZ of all different flavors), and a giant PEZ base which you can put your head on top of and make yourself into a life-sized PEZ dispenser. You'll also be able to view the PEZ factory floor (where they produce the actual candy) through glass. Upstairs you'll find more PEZ memorabilia, a seating area (which I believe can be rented out for parties), and even a custom PEZ chopper created by Orange County Choppers. Overall a great spot to bring kids and spend an hour or two!

If you are a PEZ fan do stop by for 30-60 min if you are not the neighbor. Well worth the trip We were just going for supplies are a local Home Depot and we hop off I-95 and notice the sign for PEZ. We curious and did covered a well keep secret we never noticed until now. Fun place to stop and only $5 to admissions and do play the game "Find all the Elf's" for a free PEZ gift. The place is right off the highway and plenty of parking.

Pez is such a nostalgic item for me so when I saw the visitor center, I knew I had to go. It's $5 for a self-guided tour and it comes with a $2 credit you can use in the store. It's located in the industrial side of town. When you walk in the have a wall with the history of Pez which you can go through at your own pace. They had various trivia games around to keep little ones entertained. On display, they have iconic dispensers which were really cool to see. There was a glass window where you can see onto the packaging floor. The day I went, production was closed so I didn't see it in action. I did wish I was able to see the production floor (how they make the candy). There is a video that does show you the process but it would of been cool to physically see it. The store had dispensers, candies, and other memorabilia you can buy. I personally didn't see anything I really liked but if you do go with children, I'm sure you'll love it.

Went with my friend on a whim. Such a fascinating place. I never would've guessed how much history surrounds PEZ candy. Do yourself a favor and go.

PEZ Visitor Center is a really cute place to stop by. It is great for families or if you are a couple. My husband and I paid $10 together ($5 each) for admission and it comes with $4 store credit. They also had a close up activity card where we had to guess which PEZ character the picture was and if the answers are all correct, then you get to spin a wheel and choose a free PEZ at the end. It was a walk down nostalgia lane looking at all the different PEZ designs. The trivia and matching game was fun as well. I thought it was really cool that they had Money Heist PEZ dispensers too! I definitely recommend stopping by if you have time. It is definitely affordable and a fun stop.

Ha! I had NO idea this place was here. We were zipping down the road when we saw the sign and took a quick turn-off into their parking lot. Well then, lets go get some PEZ! Sadly we arrived just before closing so there were no more tours but they did let us in the look around and we bought some gifts. They have an assortment of PEZ dispensers on display from throughout the years. Did you know they have whole collections of items? Famous people, cartoons, Star wars figures and so much more. I have to say my favorite display item is the pop-gun to shoot PEZ into someone's mouth. HA! Sounds like a good way to choke, but an absolute blast until then. Purchase PEZ candy for your dispenser, or a big tub of loose candy to enjoy without the dispenser, or get yourself a whole set up. I got me some Harry Potter PEZ dispensers and candy. We enjoyed the parts I was able to view before they closed. This is the sort of Americana we love! Definitely need to come on back here to take the tour. Such fun!

While PEZ candy certainly is not the economic engine of our country, the history and novelty of this collection tucked in an industrial park offer a more nostalgic bent to the immense consumer culture that has overrun our capacity to reflect. But anyway, nothing to see on the outside, but go in and see all pop culture collections over the last century and the viewable factory. They give you back part of the meager admission for the gift shop so we now have the Harry S Truman and Darth Vader collectibles. It's right off 95 if you need a pit stop for the kids when traffic is crawling:)

PEZ Visitor Center - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go (2024)

PEZ Visitor Center & Museum

PEZ dispensers are iconic American kitsch, but their origins are in Austria. You'll glean this and a few other factoids here, but the real gems are the hundreds of dispensers on view in this 'museum,' ranging from all the US presidents to various cartoon and cultural legends. Some days, you can see the candy-making process through the thick glass windows. Worth the short wander off the freeway.

The PEZ Factory & Visitor’s Center

pez factory tour

**This Post was written in 2018. As such, the content and exhibits in the review below may be outdated.  Please look out for updated content on this location in the near future!

Last month we found ourselves on the shoreline in Bridgeport for another excursion.  Since we were not that far from Orange, I told my husband, “I want to go to the PEZ Factory!” And like everyone else around here, he looked at me and said, “There’s a PEZ Factory in Connecticut?”

Yes, yes there is.

pez factory tour

I understand if you are completely shocked at this fact.  While PEZ have been around since the 1920s , the PEZ Factory was built in Orange in the 1970s.  And the PEZ Visitor’s Center in Orange did not open until 2011.  So being able to visit the PEZ Factory is a fairly new thing.

pez factory tour

The PEZ Factory is located in an Industrial Park just off of I-95 – which makes sense, it’s a working factory.  Apparently some say you can smell the PEZ when you drive into the area. It was raining on the day we visited so we had our windows closed. Otherwise,  I would have totally sniffed the air to see if that was true.

pez factory tour

(From Google Maps)

The doors to the PEZ Visitor’s Center are located right by the giant PEZ on the building.  Look for the double doors.

pez factory tour

The PEZ Visitor’s Center is open daily. However, if you hope to catch a glimpse of the factory in operation, you’ll want to visit on a weekday (and NOT a holiday).  We visited on a holiday so we missed out on seeing things in operation.   You’ll want to plan your visit wisely if seeing production is important to you.

When you walk in through the double doors, you’ll see the admission counter.  Admission to the PEZ Visitor’s Center is $5; children ages 3-12 are $4 and children under 3 are free.  They offer group rates as well; and you can add on a candy demonstration.

pez factory tour

The neat thing about PEZ is they really give you a lot with your paid admission. Besides entrance, you get to keep your PEZ visitor lanyard. You also receive a $2 credit towards any purchase and you have the chance to win a PEZ dispenser.

pez factory tour

The lanyard was definitely a keeper!

pez factory tour

Once you have paid your admission and have your lanyard on, you can head into the visitor’s center.

pez factory tour

The first thing you’ll spot is this guy – the world’s largest PEZ dispenser! He’s pretty tall and he’s interactive. With the push of a button you can watch the top of his head lift up like an actual dispenser!

pez factory tour

Behind the big PEZ dispenser, we found a fun scavenger hunt to do during our visit.  The rule were simple – find the special dispensers and break the code.  Each person in your group can play the game.

pez factory tour

Towards the left, you can take a walk through the history of PEZ starting with the 1920s when they were invented all the way to the present day.

pez factory tour

The main gallery featured hundreds of PEZ dispensers in glass cases! There were so many!  I don’t know what it is but there’s something about PEZ that  just takes me back to my childhood. I think growing up most of us had at least one of those plastic dispensers in our possession. It was neat to see some of the ones I had as a kid!

pez factory tour

There were so many dispensers- everywhere. Even under your feet! Of course, we spotted Thomas the Train in that floor box!

pez factory tour

Towards the back left is where you will find the factory viewing windows. As I mentioned, they were not producing the candies when we visited but we did see them hard at work packaging candies!

pez factory tour

Behind the factory viewing area, you’ll find a set of stairs that lead you to even more!

pez factory tour

On the upper level you’ll find even more fun facts and historical information, PEZ dispensers, some cute interactive games and of course, a really cool PEZ motorcycle built by Orange County Choppers.

pez factory tour

Upstairs you’ll find a party area.  You can have birthdays and celebrations at the PEZ Visitor Center!

pez factory tour

While upstairs, you can really get a sense of how many dispensers and memorabilia is on the main floor. That’s a lot of PEZ!

pez factory tour

Back on the main level, there’s even more to check out.

pez factory tour

They have some great interactive activities at the PEZ Visitor’s Center  including this chance to become a real life PEZ dispenser. He was a little short…

pez factory tour

There was also a fun chance to play a trivia game and win a personalized certificate. And of course, we loved the coloring station!

pez factory tour

After we had our fun exploring the PEZ Visitor’s Center, it was time to get to business. We needed to buy some candy! Oh, and in case you are wondering, they have a lot of that for sale.  A LOT.

pez factory tour

You could, of course, pick out any dispenser you can imagine. They also had a chance for you to make your own personalized dispenser! How cool!  You pick out a dispenser and then decorate it with stickers and pens.  We ended up skipping this option and taking home a Chase (Paw Patrol) dispenser.

pez factory tour

Of course, the best part of the whole visit was filling a bucket with every flavor possible of PEZ candies!  I’ll admit I may have enjoyed this more than my four year old! I wanted my own bucket but my pancreas appreciated that I didn’t do that…  The bucket is a great deal at $5.99! You can fit a lot of PEZ in there.

pez factory tour

We finally checked out and paid a whopping $2 for our bucket of PEZ and Chase dispenser.  With $6 in credits, we got a good deal! Basically our bucket of PEZ were free. On top of that, we finished the scavenger hunt and won a second FREE dispenser! And since my son did so well on his trivia game, he took home a personalized certificate as well. All in all, for $16 we had a pretty great time!

pez factory tour

Of course, before leaving we made a souvenir penny to commemorate our day at the PEZ Visitor’s Center in Orange! I feel bad, he thought he was putting money in for more candy… instead we gave him a smooshed penny. Sorry bud!

pez factory tour

We had a great time visiting the PEZ Visitor’s Center in Orange! While I think it’s well-known that PEZ is produced right here in Connecticut; most of us have no idea you can actually visit the factory!  It’s a great stop when you’re down near Orange. You probably only need an hour but you are guaranteed a really SWEET time!

This about sums it up…
