The tradition of going “down the shore” for summer vacations goes back decades for folks who live in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Families have been packing up the station wagon, mini-van or SUV to make the journey for generations.

At the Jersey Shore —which runs along the Atlantic coastline for about 130 miles, from Sandy Hook to Cape May—families spend time building sand castles, boogie boarding , fishing , and strolling the boardwalk, where there’s typically rides and delicious food.

The family beaches (or shore points) in New Jersey vary up and down the coast. Some beaches are wider than others, some have boardwalks and amusements, and some are quieter than others. But all New Jersey beaches bring generations of families together. Here are our picks for the best family beaches in New Jersey.

1. Ocean City

Ocean City, New Jersey (not to be confused with Ocean City, Maryland, several miles south) is the quintessential family-friendly beach. About 90 minutes from Philadelphia, this shore town offers eight miles of sandy beach, and a classic, 2.5-mile boardwalk.

Lifeguards keep an eye on the surf, ensuring boogie boarding and swimming conditions are always safe. After playing on the beach, walk up to the boardwalk to enjoy its amusements. The Ocean City Boardwalk features classic toddler rides, as well as thrill rides for teens.

Ocean City is a dry town, meaning no alcohol is sold on the barrier island. Those of-age are welcome to drink alcohol while visiting (though it’s prohibited on the beach); you’ll just have to purchase it elsewhere before you arrive.

2. Asbury Park

Asbury Park , about 90 minutes from both New York City and Philly, has seen a revitalization in recent years, welcoming new restaurants, shops and upscale hotels.

Singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen first put this beach town in the spotlight with his 1973 debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park . Springsteen got his start at The Stone Pony music venue, and the bar and the beach town remain an iconic live music destination today. Music festivals and concerts take place throughout the year at this northern New Jersey beach town.

Public restrooms, locker rentals, playgrounds, lifeguards and free Wi-Fi can be found along Asbury Park’s mile-stretch of sand. The Asbury Park Boardwalk (which doesn’t offer any rides) features restaurants, shops, small water parks, mini-golf and the Silverball Museum Arcade, filled with pinball machines from the 1930s to present day.

3. The Wildwoods

The Wildwoods in South New Jersey are comprised of Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, West Wildwood and North Wildwood, and their names are all derived from the wild flowers found in the area. This family beach in New Jersey became a booming resort town in the 1950s during the Doo-Wop era, and lays claim to the birthplace of rock and roll after the song Rock Around the Clock   was first performed in Wildwood. Several Doo-Wop-style motels still exist and have been historically preserved.

Wildwood offers one of the widest beaches in southern New Jersey. You’ll easily find a spot along the five-mile stretch of sand to park your beach chairs , umbrella , beach cooler and all the beach toys . It’s also one of the few free-access beaches in New Jersey.

The Wildwood Boardwalk is one of the best in New Jersey and the U.S. , with 38 blocks (just under two miles) filled with three amusement ride and water park piers at Morey’s Piers. If slowly seeing the sights and people watching is more your family’s speed, you can take a ride on the famous Tramcar that runs down the center of the boardwalk and repeats the now-famous phrase, “Watch the Tramcar, please!” Along with the free beaches, the Wildwoods offer tons of free festivals and parades throughout the year, plus free weekly fireworks and daily live music in the summer months.

4. Point Pleasant

This family beach in New Jersey is ideal for families since most everything is within walking distance. Pop the kids in the double stroller and hit the boardwalk or the mile-long beach.

Tourism in Point Pleasant has been growing since the 1870s when old farms were subdivided into vacation home lots, and resort guest houses started to pop up. In 1928, Charles Jenkinson, an entrepreneur, opened the Jenkinson’s Pavilion and transformed the once-sleepy beach town. The original soda fountain shop has since become the classic shore spot, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, the highlight for families visiting Point Pleasant. The mile-long boardwalk, which remained owned by the Jenkinson family until the late 1970s, offers rides, games, restaurants, ice cream shops, an arcade, fun house, mini-golf, ropes course, an aquarium and much more.

5. Stone Harbor

Stone Harbor is a quiet, more affluent Jersey Shore beach town, originally marketed in the late 1900s to wealthy Philadelphia residents who were seeking a second home. In 2017, Forbes ranked Stone Harbor 228th among the most expensive zip codes in the U.S. Today, many of those homes are vacation rentals that can sleep as many as 16 people! Families from all backgrounds can visit this pretty beach town for sand castle-building and boogie boarding by day, and games around the kitchen table at night. Fun Fact: Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift used to stay at this family beach town in New Jersey.

6. Long Beach Island

Long Beach Island —more commonly known as LBI—is 18-miles-long and a quarter-mile wide, with popular shore points including Beach Haven and Ship Bottom. You’ll find the beaches here to be less crowded, which means more room for your beach wagons and beach tents .

While there’s no boardwalk in LBI, you’ll find something just as good: Fantasy Island Amusement Park, a small amusement park with old-school rides, and the Thundering Surf Water Park, with several tube slides, a toddler area, and a FlowRider.

The Barnegat Lighthouse (aka Old Barney) is a favorite in Long Beach Island. Its original design didn’t have a flashing light and mariners found it to be inadequate until it was redesigned by an Army engineer in the mid-1800s. Today, families can climb the 217 steps to the top of the lighthouse to enjoy panoramic views of Long Beach Island.

7. Brigantine

This quiet New Jersey beach town dotted with old-school, one-level beach cottages (and large multi-level vacation rentals) sits just across the bridge from Atlantic City . Days here are spent going to the beach and grilling in the backyard for dinner. The Brigantine beaches allow 4-wheel drive vehicles on the sand with a permit, too. Families can load the car up with all the beach gear and just drive right onto the sand—no heavy lifting required!

This somewhat sleepy town is ideal for multi-generational families since you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Yet there’s no chance of boredom either with comedy shows, live concerts, casinos and great restaurants about five minutes away in Atlantic City.

8. Cape May

Cape May sits at the southern-most tip of New Jersey, and is recognized as the country’s oldest seaside resort town, evident in its candy-colored, Victorian-era buildings. The beach town is also recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the only town with that title in the U.S. The large, white-sand beaches here run about 2.5 miles long, and the Cape May Promenade, a paved, beachfront walkway that’s perfect for morning bike rides, runs about two miles. Candy and ice cream shops can be found along the promenade, along with a small arcade. The Cape May Zoo, which is free, and Cape May Lighthouse, 199 steps to the top, are also fun places to explore while visiting this family beach in New Jersey.

Cape May is, of course, a great place to visit in the summer, but it’s really become a year-round vacation destination. Christmas light displays, Victorian house tours, and several wineries and breweries can be enjoyed in the slower seasons.

9. Seaside Heights

Seaside Heights is more than the MTV show Jersey Shore   that made it so infamous. This family beach in northern New Jersey has been calling itself “the home for family fun” since 1913, well before Snooki laid claim here. Only 20 minutes from Point Pleasant, home to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, Seaside offers its own two-mile boardwalk and two piers filled with amusement rides (kiddie rides and thrill rides), a water park, arcades, boardwalk food, shops, mini-golf and more. The Sky Ride (aka ski lift) is a must-try while visiting this Jersey Shore town. The calm ride runs above the beach and boardwalk, offering great views of the action below. The beaches here are wide, and families love spending time fishing, crabbing and boating while visiting Seaside Heights.

If you've forgotten how to entertain yourself and your family outside the four walls of your living room, you're not alone.

Though it's hard to remember after the last year, there's a whole world out there full of fun and exciting experiences just a short drive away. For the sake of convenience, we'll stick to New Jersey for this list of places worthy of a summer day trip.

Lakota Wolf Preserve, Columbia

At the Lakota Wolf Preserve you can get up-close and personal with wolves. The preserve’s educational wolf tours bring you to an observation area where four different wolf packs live. Owners Jim Stein and Becky Mace lead the tours and provide information about the wolves — how they eat, the structure of their packs and more. Keep your eyes open for foxes, bobcats and lynx, as well. Reservations are required. Price is $15 for adults, $7 for kids up to 11.

Steel Pier, Atlantic City

The Steel Pier is the place to be for classic boardwalk amusement rides in Atlantic City. We’re talking a carousel, bumper cars, Crazy Mouse, slingshot and more. Steel Pier is also home to The Wheel, the 227-foot-tall Ferris wheel with 40 climate-controlled gondolas. Hop on for a 15-minute ride with some of the best views of A.C. and the Atlantic Ocean the city has to offer.

Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton Township

Grounds for Sculpture — a 42-acre park scattered with 300 sculptures among the flowers and greenery — is always a good idea. And this summer, Rat’s Restaurant (which is located in Grounds for Sculpture) is offering picnics to enjoy on the grounds. Lunch is packed in a reusable tote bag and includes a bottle of wine, tumblers, flatware and napkins. Each lunch comes with a shared starter and two meals — selections include a caprese sandwich, ham and brie sandwich and grilled salmon Niçoise. Kid lunches include a lunchable, a snack box or a wow butter (a peanut-free spread) and jelly sandwich. Price for the picnic lunch is $60 for two adults and $8 per child.

Smorgasburg, Jersey City

Encourage your adventurous eaters with a trip to Smorgasburg, an open-air food market that originated in New York City and just opened a new location in Jersey City. About 30 food vendors offering unique and portable meals, snacks and drinks hustle at the water-front market every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Battleship New Jersey, Camden

The Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial is much more interesting than any old museum. Climb aboard the actual BB-62 battleship, built at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 1942, a year after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The ship’s exhibits are interactive. Guests can sit in the admiral’s chairs, crash on the sailor bunks, and explore a gun turret. The tour will take you through all five levels above-board and the two lower decks.

Battleship New Jersey is open for tours daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $24.95 for adults, $19.95 for veterans and seniors 62 and up, and children 5 to 11. Admission for kids under 5 is $5 and for active-duty military and World War II veterans is free.

Second Wind Llama Adventures, New Egypt

Second Wind Llama Adventures is a 3½ acre farm with llamas for sheering and for accompanying people on walks. Yes, you read that last part right. Second Wind has a program where you can go on a walk with a llama. Why? Because it’s relaxing and peaceful to walk through nature with a fuzzy companion. Reservations are required. Ages 12 and up can participate in a walk.

Ocean City boardwalk, Ocean City

Ocean City calls itself America’s Greatest Family Resort. And though we’d never blindly trust a motto, this one is pretty accurate. Ocean City is a dry town with a bustling beach and a boardwalk bursting with kid-friendly fun. Find rides and games at Gillian’s Wonderland Pier and Playland’s Castaway Cove; thick, crinkle-cut fries at Curly’s; swirls of ice cream at Kohr Bros; and mini-golf and novelty shops every few feet along the boardwalk.

The Funny Farm, Mays Landing

This rambling farm is full of animals that were abandoned or abused. The Funny Farm takes them in and cares for them for the rest of their lives. Plus, folks can visit the more than 550 animals on the 15-acre farm. See horses, sheep, pigs, cats, donkeys and much more at the Funny Farm.

American Dream, East Rutherford

Taking the kids to the mall doesn’t seem like too thrilling an option. But hear us out. The massive mall might just be the place to go when the weather gets too hot outside. Its theme park Nickelodeon Universe is the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere with rides for little kids and thrill-seekers (plus a bunch of nostalgic references to shows like “SpongeBob,” “Rugrats” and “Jimmy Neutron.”) Its DreamWorks water park is full of familiar characters from “Shrek,” “Trolls,” “How To Train Your Dragon” and other DreamWorks films. American Dream also has a blacklight mini-golf course, a mirror maze, Angry Birds-themed mini-golf, Big Snow (an indoor ski slope), Lego Land, an ice rink and the Sea Life aquarium.

Brookhollow Barnyard, Boonton

Escape to the farm for a day at Brookhollow Barnyard. An hour-long walk-through will let you get up close to Brookhollow’s friendly farm animals. Buckets of carrots are available for purchase to feed the animals, as well as tractor rides. Price is $6.88 per person and free for kids under 2.

The Raptor Trust, Millington

Slightly different from your average zoo, The Raptor Trust cares for injured, sick or orphaned wild birds. Folks can visit the owls, eagles, hawks, flacons and vultures during a free self-guided visit. Groups of up to eight people are allowed. Private staff-led tours are also available. They run for about 50 minutes and cost $80 per group (up to eight people allowed per group). During the tour, you’ll learn about birds native to New Jersey and about the histories of Trust’s resident birds.

Having gone to college in Washington D.C., I know firsthand how expensive tourism in the capital can be. While many Smithsonian museums are free, some of the best experiences across the capital tend to drain bank accounts. Asbury park, nj  .

Distance from Jersey City: 53.4 miles ~ via Garden State Parkway (1 hour)   

Asbury Park is one of Jersey’s most beloved beach towns, offering some of the best shorelines in the state. Plenty of events and activities year-round make it a popular destination for families. You can easily spend the day or choose to make it a weekend stay just an hour away.  

In addition to its surf and sand, Asbury Park also features a Boardwalk full of mouthwatering food, unique shopping experiences, and the historic Paramount Theater and Convention Hall. Downtown Asbury Park also hosts events ranging from parades and fireworks to the annual world-famous NJ Zombie Walk. 

If you’re spending the night, consider checking into The Asbury Hotel, a restored Victorian-age hotel with tons of one-of-a-kind charm. There are many other great choices as well, including the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel and Mikell’s Big House. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area offers sweeping views of the mountain ridges and endless birding and wildlife-watching opportunities for hikers. You can also bike along McDade Recreational Trail, which is particularly beautiful each autumn. During the colder months, be sure to explore the many winter activities available at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area.

Distance from Jersey City: 152 miles ~ via Garden State Parkway (2 hours/26 minutes)

Greenwich has long been named one of the best weekend getaways from New Jersey, and for a good reason. Just an hour away from Jersey City and a short train ride from NYC, it’s an ideal escape from life’s everyday hustle and bustle.  

You can find the charming coastal town of Greenwich on Long Island Sound. It’s filled with many exciting things to see and do, like shopping at the many stories or visiting the art galleries in Downtown Greenwich. Science and art enthusiasts will love touring The Bruce Museum , and history lovers will love seeing the Greenwich Mansion and Putnam Cottage.  

There are also many opportunities to explore the outdoors in Greenwich. Walk the peaceful trails in Greenwich Point Park, where you can also admire the gorgeous NYC skyline. Take in a game of polo at the Greenwich Polo Club during the summer, or spend a day at the fascinating Montgomery Pinetum and Pomerance Park, the birthplace of the Boy Scouts!

Distance from Jersey City: 184 miles ~ via NJ Tpke S and I-95 S (3 hours/3 minutes)  

Baltimore is also another excellent option to add to your list of New Jersey road trips. It’s full of family-friendly destinations and activities, and you can easily spend a few days or a long weekend exploring all these fascinating city offers.  

Families with younger children will love visiting the Maryland Science Center in Downtown Baltimore . The center’s three floors feature many kid-friendly displays and exhibits, and it also has a planetarium, observatory, and IMAX theater! The Port Discovery Children’s Museum is also a fun-filled adventure and is ranked as one of America’s top five children’s museums.  

One can only find many one-of-a-kind destinations in Baltimore, such as the National Aquarium , the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, and more. Philadelphia, PA 

Distance from Jersey City ~ via I-95 S  (1 hour/29 minutes)

One of the best things about visiting Philadelphia is that there is no “wrong time” to do it. So whether you’re planning a weekend road trip from NJ in September or January, there are many things to see and do. 

Must-see Philadelphia sights include visiting the famous Liberty Bell at the Liberty Bell Center, touring the historical Independence Hall where the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, and running up the 72 “Rocky Steps” at the eastern entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art . • Let the attendant fuel up if you’re traveling in New Jersey and need to gas up. It’s actually illegal to pump your own gas in The Garden State.  
• As of December 11, 2022, New Jersey is moving to cashless tolls. The New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway are two of the busiest toll roads in the United States, so expect to pay if you’re traveling those routes.  
• Although many of the attractions listed in our chosen locations are free to the public, we suggest budgeting for museum and park entry fees and any other specific events you’d like to attend while visiting your destination.

It’s that time of year when everyone is mentally ready for a vacation. But flying anywhere right now will cost you more than your destination.

Yes, gas prices in the Garden State are increasing every day, but if you stay as local as you can to New Jersey, driving to your vacation spot is way more cost-efficient.

It’s easy to stay in New Jersey for the summer. The Jersey Shore is the go-to place in the tri-state after all.

Ocean City, NJ is a great beach town to bring the kids.

Wildwood is a popular spot but has a massive boardwalk and the beaches are free.

Speaking of free beaches, if you’re childless and still want the entertainment life after hours, you don’t need to pay to step foot on the Atlantic City beach.

You can visit the usual Point Pleasant Beach and Seaside Heights. I was going to call those beaches “overpopulated” but that’s the entire shoreline.

People actually travel from out of state just to spend their summers at the shore. Whether they own a house or rent one for a few weeks, it’s something locals have to get used to.

Visiting the Jersey Shore can be a day trip. Why not pack up the car and go on a small road trip that is far enough from home that you get that vacation feeling, but close enough to drive to and won’t break your bank account.

'Jersey Shore Family Vacation' season finale: Angelina can't handle Vinny 2.0's workouts

Angelina Pivarnick and Vinny “2.0” Tortorella have a complicated relationship.

It's so complicated that its status is unclear after the Thursday, May 16, two-part season finale of "Jersey Shore Family Vacation." The couple seemed to hit a rough patch during the roomies' trip to a desert resort in Tucson, Arizona.

Angelina was perturbed with Vinny 2.0's workout schedule

“Are you working out again?” Angelina said. “I don't think I can handle it — it's just too much!”

“You're bothered by things I do,” Vinny 2.0 said.

“It's just weird now,” Angelina said. “I love the fact that he is very into his physique but the problem is when that's your whole life that's ruining it.”

Later, Angelina’s risqué talk in front of the cast made Vinny 2.0 uncomfortable.

“So you're withholding the fun from your fiancé,” said Jenni “JWoww” Farley.

Angelina then replied with something that was mostly bleeped out.

“Stop, please,” Vinny 2.0 said.

“They were getting it on last night,” said Pauly DelVecchio. “I heard it. I'm their neighbor.”

“That was me banging to get out,” said Vinny 2.0, who punctuated the zinger with a Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino walk.

Angelina's list of grievances with Vinny 2.0, including financial shortcomings and lack of quality time spent, was recited.

“Right now, I feel it's best for me to get my life in order,” said Angelina to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. “This is something I have to work on with therapy.”

Then, contradicting herself, Angelina's disassociated voice saying “I do love Vin,” apparently edited in after the scene was filmed in November, was eerily heard. The Angelina-Vinny 2.0 relationship will be a storyline next season, according to a trailer at the end of Thursday's second episode.

“You are using my friend Angelina,” said Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi to Vinny 2.0 in the trailer.

“Ok, I'm using her,” Vinny 2.0 said.

“I think you're shady and you don't love her,” Nicole continued.

“I feel very slighted right now because you're coming at me in some type of way that's not very nice,” Vinny 2.0 said.

The two-hour finale on Thursday was fun and fast-paced, but it didn't advance or wrap up any storylines. The crew dressed up as 2009 versions of themselves to go out on the first episode, including the Italia sweat jackets for Pauly and Vinny Guadagnino.

“We look like we're dressed up as 'Jersey Shore' characters, but it's us,” Vinny said.

They also visited Rootser Cogburn Ostrich Ranch, and it was significant: It was the first time all nine cast members filmed together. Nicole, Pauly, Vinny, Angelina, Jenni, Deena Cortese, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Ron Ortiz Magro and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, and lots of farm animals, were in the scene.

Deena replaced Angelina in Season 2, and Sammi and Ron have both missed significant time away from the show.

“The squad is complete,” Mike said. “All nine 'Jersey Shore' family members are together. “This is a very big moment. It never has happened before in 'Jersey Shore' history.”

The season has been largely devoid of Ron drama, and one of his jokes even elicited a smile and laugh from ex Sammi on Thursday.

“It's good to be around you when we're laughing, not another crisis,” said Vinny to Ron.

Filming takes place in New York City, Miami and Las Vegas next season. Pauly's girlfriend, Nikki Hall, is back in front of the cameras.

Part 1 on Thursday was dedicated to Pauly's father, the late Paul DelVecchio, who passed away May 4 at the age of 71. A reunion episode takes place next week.

A new episode from season 7 of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” will air on MTV on Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Season 7 will be available on streaming platforms like Philo , which offers a free trial.

Sammi Faces Uncomfortable Reunion in ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’

An unexpected twist adds a complex layer to the reunion, hinting at an emotional moment between Sammi and Ronnie.

While some fans may be excited to see all the Jersey Shore roommates finally be back together again after over 10 years, Sammi “Sweeatheart” Giancola was not thrilled about filming alongside her ex-boyfriend yet again . Being one of the original eight roommates, Sammi is best remembered for her messy on-again, off-again relationship with costar, Ronnie Ortiz Magro . The two dated throughout the original reality series before ultimately calling it quits for good following the series finale.

When the Jersey Shore cast was approached to come back together to film for the spin-off show Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in 2018, nearly all the roommates jumped at the opportunity. Sammi, however, declined the offer. At the time, she was in a new relationship and simply did not want to film alongside Ronnie again due to the potential drama it could have brought. Ronnie, on the other hand, did join the cast for the new series. Fans watched as he continued to have relationship drama with his new girlfriends.

Then, in 2021, Ronnie got in trouble with the law yet again. Following his arrest for domestic violence accusations, Ronnie stepped away from filming to focus on his well-being. After he was away from the show for nearly three years, Sammi was ready to make her Jersey Shore: Family Vacation debut . In 2023, during season 6 of the show, Sammi reunited with her former roommates for the first time in many years.

Sammi Was Not Happy About the Ronnie Reunion

As Sammi has continued to film with the cast, she has also found herself in a situation she has been trying to avoid for many years. In the brand-new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation , which is set to premiere on Thursday, February 8, 2024, Sammi and Ronnie come face to face for the first time since their final break up . To no surprise, Sammi was anything but excited about reuniting with her ex. In a recent interview with E! , Sammi opened up about what the experience was like for her. She said, "I, of course, was not fond of filming with an ex-boyfriend.” Although Sammi did not want the day to come, she knew she would eventually have to film alongside Ronnie when agreeing to film for the show.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 7 will follow along as Sammi learns she will come face to face with Ronnie while she, along with the rest of the cast, take a family trip to Nashville, Tennessee. In a recent interview, Sammi explained, “You're gonna see me basically navigate that, and you're gonna see it all play out.” Fans will get to see her initial reaction to learning that Ronnie too will be returning to filming for the show as well as how she deals with those emotions.

What Nikki Hall Has Been Up To Since Leaving 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation'

Although it was simply not ideal to have to film alongside Ronnie again due to the potential drama it could cause, Sammi is currently in a good place in her life. Therefore, she feels she can handle it better than she would have had she joined the cast at the start of the spin-off show back in 2018. She has moved on not only from her relationship with Ronnie but all of their past drama and issues as well. Sammi is now in a new, healthy, relationship with her boyfriend, Justin May . Both fans and the roommates were introduced to Justin during season 6 of the spin-off show.

Luckily for Sammi, Justin has been extremely supportive of her decision to return to filming for Jersey Shore . She raved over her new guy, saying, “What's really cool about Justin is he's very supportive and kind of like a breath of fresh air.” When Sammi was initially contemplating returning to the show, Justin assured her that he was there to support her in whatever she decided to do . In the past, Sammi was never with a guy who was “uplifting” and “supportive” like Justin is. She admitted, “It kind of was nice to have that different type of aspect in my life.” Sammi is head over heels for her new man. She even thinks there might be a wedding in the near future for her and Justin.

When Sammi first announced her shocking return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation , fans were unsure if she would have a permanent role on the show. Now, as she has even agreed to film alongside Ronnie despite their past, it is nearly certain that Sammi is here to stay. Additionally, she will be bringing her new boo around a lot more throughout the upcoming season. Therefore, fans will get an even better look inside their relationship as well. Another Jersey Shore wedding may be in the cards for a future season of the show.

DJ Pauly D reveals serious health scare while filming 'Jersey Shore': 'I almost died'

Yeah buddy that was a scary, but DJ Pauly DelVecchio seems to be on the mend.

"I almost died," Pauly said.

Pauly revealed that he fainted and had to be rushed to a hospital due to a medical condition in Nashville on the Thursday, May 9, episode of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” which was filmed in Tucson, Arizona.

“In Nashville, I had a little problem where I had a hemorrhoid that kind of like ruptured and it was bleeding throughout the night,” said Pauly, 43, in a confessional. “It was bleeding so bad that I lost so much blood that I actually fainted, so I had to get rushed to the hospital. They had to give me a blood transfusion and sew that up.”

The Nashville shoot took pace in October 2023. Pauly was shown excusing himself from a confessional as he felt faint in Music City.

"I can't breathe," said Pauly, off camera. Girlfriend Nikki Hall flew into the city to be with Pauly.

“It was pretty gnarly,” Pauly said. “I'm very grateful and thankful for Nikki. She was by my side. She flew to Nashville and she helped me out through this whole process. It was a scary thing.”

Pauly met Nikki on MTV's “Double Shot at Love with DJ Pauly D and Vinny,” where she was a contestant. She's previously appeared on “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” but not in recent seasons.

“I had to cancel two shows — it's crazy,” said Pauly, who deejays across the country. “I never canceled a show in my life. I tell you what, if you watch 'Vampire Diaries,' it's the same thing. If a vampire has no blood, he's weak. If he has blood he's brand new. I'm a vampire — legit.”

Pauly's tenure on “Jersey Shore” and Jersey Shore Family Vacation” has largely been devoid of personal drama or health issues — so far.

“It's hard to believe Pauly isn't super-human," said Vinny Guadagnino. "I've never seen him even have a cold. Nothing bad ever happens to Pauly, so thank God.”

Meanwhile, Angelina Pivarnick and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola have come to an uneasy truce regarding their season-long beef. The peace pipe was lit by Vinny “2.0” Tortorella, Angelina's boyfriend, and Justin May, Sammi’s boyfriend.

“I can still do what I’ve been doing for months,” Sammi said. “What I’m doing I'm not doing from a negative place.”

“I’m not either,” Angelina said.

“You guys can agree on something,” Vinny 2.0 said. “You made some progression.”

Sammi's ex, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, came to dinner with the roomies and their significant others. Sammi’s boyfriend shook his hand.

“I don't want my boyfriend and my ex shaking hands,” Sammi said. “Nobody wants that, but at the end of the day I would rather have this be peaceful than an awkward, uncomfortable situation — and it reassures me that I made the right choice with the right guy.”

Yet, in the words of Pauly D, it was a little awkward.

“Me and Justin honestly have a better chance of being friends before me and Sam,” Ronnie said.

The two-hour season finale airs at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16.

Move over, ‘ Tinder Swindler ‘ — there’s a new scam artist in town.

A single woman was hoaxed by a Hinge match into paying for a vacation in Spain for a first date, but she claimed he ghosted her and left her to pick up the hefty tab.

“It’s the real-life ‘Tinder Swindler’ but make it Hinge,” UK resident Claudia Harris, 29, told Kennedy News and media. “I am a Netflix documentary in the making.”

She matched with James, whose name has been changed for anonymity, on Hinge one year ago after a friend talked her into downloading the dating app.

“He matched with me almost instantly. We were talking and it was going really well,” said the Harpenden, Hertfordshire, resident, describing how sparks flew instantly.

“For 12 hours we were texting each other and we didn’t get off the phone until 3 a.m. At the end of the conversation, he said he really needed to meet me and I said likewise.”

Despite being the “first person she came across” when swiping through potential matches, the singleton agreed to impulsively splurge on a three-day vacation in Malaga, Spain, for the pair’s first date, racking up a bill of more than $1,000 for hotel costs.

“He had some time off at the end of the month for the bank holiday. He was thinking of going to Spain. He asked if I wanted to come,” she recalled.

“This was the sign I had been wanting from the universe to do something different, out of my comfort zone and put myself out there. I didn’t even second guess it.”

But the tides changed when Harris met James, who said he was in the military, in person.

“When I got to the hotel, I paid on arrival. The agreement always was that we would split it when we were out there,” she explained, adding that an issue with his bank, so he claimed, barred him from sending her his half of the cost.

“He arrived the following morning, and it was just not the same. He was the same person but the vibe was not there. It was a struggle. Conversation was very minimal.”

But Harris was determined to not let the bachelor ruin her vacation, saying they “made the most out of it” by enjoying cocktails, getting tattoos and adventuring around the Spanish city.

While he paid for his portions of meals and activities while on holiday, it wasn’t until they were headed back to the airport that she began to notice “the red flags.”

“We barely spoke that entire day. It was very bizarre,” she recalled.

According to Harris, James told her he didn’t think the couple could “make it work” long-term, but promised to pay her back his part of the hotel cost “first thing in the morning.”

Harris sent message after message, only getting one response two days later — in which he claimed he “had been back to back with training” — then radio silence.

“I sent him my details. Ghosted. I thought he must be busy, so I tried again two days later. Ghosted. I thought this was really weird and tried one final time. Nothing,” she said.

“That’s when I got really, really upset.”

Harris had been in a car accident and left her job, which resulted in a lack of income. The high cost of the hotel, she said, “was money I could not afford to lose.”

“It was such a low moment,” she admitted. “I’m never going to see that money again.”

Harris said she reported James’ dating profile on Hinge to hopefully save other women from the same financial peril — and has sworn off dating apps.

“My friend told me to go back on Hinge. I re-downloaded the app and his profile was the first person I came across [again]. I reported it to Hinge and they literally did nothing,” she claimed.

“That really concerned me from a safeguarding perspective. I thought, ‘This could be happening to anyone.’ You actually don’t know who you’re talking to.”

Hinge told Kennedy News that the user in question has since been banned from the app.

“Now looking back, I think ‘how dangerous’ of me. It could’ve been a lot worse,” Harris said, adding that it takes months to get to know a person, not minutes or days. “I’m quite impulsive by nature. Now if that opportunity presented itself again I would take a few steps back.”

She added: “I am done with the dating app culture. You have to be lucky to find a genuine connection. I don’t think it’s going to happen for me on a dating app. Absolutely not.”
