Where are the timing marks?
2352 posts · Joined 2009. #3 · Oct 21, 2009. there are 2 timing marks, and 2 timing grooves in the balancer on those. the one on the timing cover with the arrow is the first, the second is at approximately 4 o'clock where the front crank seal is (the dash mark about even to the crank position sensor mounting bolt but opposite).

still isn't going to change ign. timing. it's not like a 95-older engine, where you "set" the base timing by adjusting the dizzy. on the 96-ups, the timing is primarily controlled by the crankshaft position sensor, not by a magnetic pickup in the dizzy. on 96-up, the sensor in the dizzy is a camshaft position sensor.
