Road Trip is a U.S. comedy film that was written by Scot Armstrong and Todd Phillips, who also directed. The movie stars Breckin Meyer as Josh Parker, Amy Smart as Beth Wagner, Seann William Scott as E.L., Paulo Costanzo as Rubin Carver and DJ Qualls as Kyle Edwards. Josh and Tiffany are high school sweathearts who have been long-time friends. They have to deal with a long distance relationship once Josh is enrolled at Ithaca and Tiffany is to attend the University of Austin. However, they vow to remain true to each other.
Due to some miscommunication, Josh is unaware that Tiffany has had a death in her family so when she doesn’t call, he is worried that she is seeing someone else. He begins to make a daily video blog for her.
During a party, E.L. holds an auction for girls. Josh wins a bid for $26 and after he dances with Beth, they have sex. Beth records their sex with the same recorder that Josh has been using for his video blogs for Tiffany. Not realizing this, Josh asks Rubin to mail the blog tape to Tiffany prior to leaving for class.
Josh confesses to his friends that he and Beth had sex. His friends want proof. Josh tries to play the tape but then realizes that Rubin has sent the tape to Tiffany. Then Josh gets a voicemail from Tiffany telling him that she didn’t call because her grandfather died. In a panic, Josh plans a road trip to retrieve the tape since he doesn’t have the money for a plane ticket.
He and the guys are on the road for days, finally reaching Austin. When they get to Tiffany's dorm, Josh gets hold of the tape. After an altercation with Kyle, Josh and Tiffany wind up watching the tape, which only turns out to have one of his friends acting goofy on it.
However, Josh and Tiffany decide it is best to break up since they are so far from each other and it is impractical to have a relationship. After Josh passes his class, he and Beth hook up and make more videos together.

3 things to watch as Mariners gear up for season’s toughest road trip yet
While manager Scott Servais spent much of the past homestand trying to educate fans about how improved the Oakland A’s were as a team and how good the Kansas City Royals have been this season, he won’t have to do that with the next two teams on the Mariners’ schedule.
The Mariners start a 10-game, three-city road trip with the first two series vs. the Orioles (27-14) and Yankees (30-15). Baltimore’s roster features the largest collection of young and exciting talent in Major League Baseball while New York now has the best record in the American League following a dominant three-game sweep of the Twins, who scored one run in those losses.
This will be the strongest stretch of opponents the Mariners will have faced thus far in the 2024 season.
It starts with three games at Camden Yards vs. the Orioles. Here are a few things to watch in the series and the road trip, which also includes a three-game series vs. the much-improved Nationals to close it out.
Can the Mariners’ pitching slow down the best offense in the American League?
The Orioles lead the AL in runs per game (4.95), home runs (64), slugging percentage (.442) and are second in on-base plus slugging percentage (.746).
Baltimore’s lineup features five players — third baseman Jordan Westburg, designated hitter Ryan O’Hearn, shortstop Gunnar Henderson, catcher Adley Rutschman and left field Colton Cowser — with an OPS over .800. Westburg’s .889 OPS is also coupled with a .301 batting average. First baseman Ryan Mountcastle is a homer or two away from moving into the .800s with his .790 OPS. The Orioles just got Austin Hays back from the injured list after he missed the last three weeks with a calf injury. Hays was an All-Star last season.
There will be no free outs in Baltimore’s lineup.
The Mariners starters have pitched well against strong lineups this season. A year ago, Seattle’s pitching held the Orioles to a .196/.252/.330 slash line, seven homers and 18 runs scored in six games.
Will the Mariners offense continue to improve?
In 30 games in April, the Mariners posted a .217/.296/.353 slash line with 109 runs scored, 29 doubles, five triples, 31 homers, 101 walks and 311 strikeouts. The offense lacked power and production, struck out too much and was painful to watch.
In 14 games in May, the Mariners have a .248/.313/.416 slash line with 59 runs scored, 17 doubles, two triples, 18 homers, 36 walks and 142 strikeouts. The production is much better. The strikeouts, well, they are still prevalent and the homers are coming at a better rate.
The emergence of Luke Raley as a major contributor has been a plus. He has a .328/.377/.516 slash line over his last 22 games with a double, triple, three homers and 10 RBI; and the continued success of Josh Rojas, who has a .330/.395/.482 slash line with four two doubles, triples, three homers and nine RBI this season, has helped.
Julio Rodriguez has had more productive at-bats, and Mitch Haniger and Ty France have shown signs they are working out of their slumps, which would be helpful.
The Orioles have yet to release their starters for the weekend beyond lefty John Means starting on Friday.
The status of Mitch Garver (upper back spasms) and Jorge Polanco (hamstring tightness) loom as possible concerns for the Mariners. Both missed the finale of the Royals series but were expected to be available in Baltimore.
How will the playing time be dispersed?
With Dominic Canzone back from the injured list, how the playing time is going to shake out will be interesting. With the Mariners facing a lefty on Friday, they will likely go with their right-handed heavy lineup. But if the O’s stay in rotation, Seattle could see right-handers Dean Kremer and Corbin Burnes.
They will find a way to get both Canzone and Raley in the lineup, but who will lose the start in the game? Will it be Mitch Haniger in right field, Ty France at first base or Mitch Garver at DH?
The playing-time dispersal was going to be more complicated with J.P. Crawford expected to return on Friday from the injured list. However, that has been delayed. Crawford was struck in the hand by a pitch while playing in a rehab assignment game with Triple-A Tacoma.
Replays showed him in obvious pain.
General manager Justin Hollander said via text message that Crawford did not fly to Baltimore on Thursday as expected. With his hand still sore and swollen, the Mariners will wait until he feels better before activated. They aren’t sure when that will be.
When Crawford does return, manager Scott Servais will have to find playing time and at-bats for Dylan Moore, who has been more than adequate while filling in at shortstop for Crawford. It means another player could see reduced playing time, specifically third baseman Luis Urias, who has been inconsistent in the field and at the plate while platooning with Rojas.
Is there a leverage setup man?
Right now, Andrés Muñoz, and to a lesser extent, Gabe Speier have been the Mariners’ most reliable relievers in the bullpen. Veteran right-hander Ryne Stanek, who was supposed to fill some of the leverage situations that would’ve belonged to Matt Brash, has struggled to not allow base runners for much of the season. In 13 of his 17 outings, he’s allowed at least one base runner via hit or walk. His last outing — a 1-2-3 inning — in the series finale win over the Royals was one of his best of the season.
The Mariners have tried to use right-hander Trent Thornton in a role similar to Justin Topa last season. Thornton got off to strong start this season, allowing two earned runs in his first 13 appearances and 13 2/3 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and two walks. But as the leverage situations have increased, Thornton has struggled to keep runners off base. In his last five outings, he’s allowed three earned runs on six hits with two walks in five innings pitched.
The Mariners haven’t really tried Cody Bolton or Austin Voth in higher leverage roles and there is minimal trust for Eduard Bazardo to work in those situations. It’s not an ideal situation for trying to get to Muñoz in the ninth inning.

Go Inside Malia White's Messy Road Trip with a Mystery Guy: "Living the Van Life"
The Below Deck Mediterranean alum is on a wild adventure and she's taking us all along for the journey.
Below Deck Mediterranean alum Malia White has been keeping busy these days . When she's not working hard on a charter, she's out there seeing the world in other ways. Malia recently traded in a boat for "living the van life" as she embarked on a road trip along the coast of Scotland with a mystery male companion by her side.
How to Watch
Watch Below Deck Mediterranean on Monday, June 3 at 9/8c and next day on Peacock . Catch up on the Bravo app .
Malia took to her Instagram Story on May 13 and May 14, where she posted a series of photos and videos while on the road in Scotland. The content taken from the trip shows that being in such close quarters can get a little messy, but it's nothing that the seasoned yachtie can't handle — even though she is traveling by land and not sea this time around.
Malia White shares photos from her trip around Scotland
In a video she shared with her fans, Malia can be seen filming her friend (perhaps romantic interest?) as he drives along the scenic Scottish coast and dodges a biker on the road ahead of them. In another, Malia films a bunch of spilled powder in the car as the man laughs in the background and briefly looks into the camera. Once the spill was cleaned up, Malia posted a boomerang of her preparing to take a shower on the coast in a bathing suit and waterproof boots.
While it might not be too glamorous, it looks absolutely beautiful. Malia posted a photo of their car parked alongside the water, with the cliffs in the distance. In another, she shared a photo of her "best coffee find yet" while tagging the location as Isle of Skye, Scotland.
Malia White posts a series of images of her and her boyfriend road tripping through Scotland.

How the Airstream Hit the Open Road
This space-age sensation kicked the American road trip into high gear
Steven Melendez
In the late 1920s, an ambitious young Stanford grad named Wally Byam found himself in booming Los Angeles, far from the rural Oregon of his youth, where he and his family had been happy, and frequent, campers. Byam, a magazine publisher, couldn’t wait to ditch his suit and tie to go camping on days off, but his wife proved less enthusiastic about sleeping on the dewy ground. He devised a compromise, elevating their tent on a wooden platform that sat atop the chassis from an old Ford Model T; the Byams’ own car then towed the tent-laden contraption. “I guess we looked like an itinerant patent-medicine show,” he’d later tell a reporter. “But it worked.”
So Byam kept tinkering, building a teardrop-shaped trailer out of plywood as a sturdier substitute for the tent, with room for an icebox and a kerosene cooking stove. When the couple began pulling this trailer with their Dodge, the setup continued to draw considerable attention on the road—and Byam, ever the entrepreneur, saw an opportunity amid all that gawking. Familiar with the power of print, he took out magazine ads that sold blueprints for do-it-yourself trailers. The timing worked out well, as his own publishing business began drying up after the 1929 stock market crash, and when a neighbor asked Byam to build him a camper, the inventor went one step further, ditching backyard tinkering to open a small factory in Culver City, California, in 1931. The result was a triumph of design and marketing, and it helped create the very idea of the modern road trip.
Byam gave his trailers the name Airstream, boasting they rode as smoothly as “a stream of air” and sold more than 1,000 by the spring of 1932. In early 1936, after further experimentation, he pivoted from plywood to selling the aluminum-clad Airstream Clipper. Starting at $1,200—a bit under $27,000 in today’s money, and more than twice the price of its predecessors—it was a luxury trailer with room for four people to sleep and dine. It even boasted onboard water tanks that paired well with the Clipper’s futuristic metallic sheen, riveted aluminum shell and streamlined, aerodynamic shape with gentler curves than previous models. The design cannily evoked the glamour of aviation—as did the name, nodding to Pan American World Airways’ celebrated new China Clipper plane. Soon, Byam’s advertisements were trading on the same association: “An airplane without wings,” a 1937 newspaper ad proclaimed the Clipper. “Luxurious in the extreme.”
The company soon had 75 employees working 18 hours per day to meet demand, touting sales to Hollywood stars and even the president of Mexico. Production came to a halt during World War II, when aluminum restrictions led Byam to close his shop and begin working at a plant making actual aircraft for the war effort. But in the postwar boom, Airstream saw its true heyday, as middle-class Americans took to the road, many directly inspired by Byam and his creation.
“Your home is wherever your wheels come to a stop,” wrote Byam in Fifth Avenue on Wheels , a 1953 road-trip guide that emphasized the Manhattan-worthy luxury that Airstream offered, including such pacifying comforts as shock absorbers and modern stoves, which Byam cheerfully extolled throughout the volume.
Byam remained a tireless tinkerer, user and promoter of his own product, even leading a series of Airstream caravans around the world. These began with a 1951 drive south from the U.S.-Mexico border to Managua, Nicaragua, where they were heartily greeted by the country’s president. The more globe-trotting caravaners arranged to load their Airstreams onto cargo ships and crossed the ocean for Europe and beyond, sometimes posing the trailers near the Pyramids of Giza and near Moscow’s Red Square. The groups had a tradition of camping in concentric circles—a cross between an Old West wagon formation and a suburban subdivision, often complete with pink plastic lawn flamingos—and wore matching blue berets that suggested a rolling fraternal lodge. From a 1956 trip that saw travelers ditch trailers for gondolas in Venice to a Byam-led voyage that arrived in Cairo in 1960, stories with vivid photo spreads of gleaming, American-made Airstreams alongside ancient wonders appeared in magazines like Life and National Geographic .
Byam died in 1962, but Airstreams sold steadily throughout the 1960s, as improvements in such features as trailer toilets—designed by avid Airstream traveler (and future Porta Potti inventor) Frank Sargent—allowed travelers to explore the growing interstate highway system and to skip motels without sacrificing hygiene. A modified Airstream even served as temporary home to the Apollo 11 astronauts upon their return from the moon, keeping them comfortable—and quarantined—until certified free from potential lunar germs.
But in the 1970s and ’80s, rising gas prices and growing air travel put a major damper on sales. The company tried to diversify with mixed success, introducing lower-priced trailers and even, in 1981, an Airstream funeral coach. (The idea was for mourners to ride together alongside the casket, in lieu of a multi-car funeral procession.) Still, the caravans kept rolling, flamboyantly so: Sargent organized one headline-grabbing trip to China in 1985. And the optimistic 1990s saw an Airstream resurgence, as nostalgia—and a larger middle class than at any previous time in U.S. history—drew buyers to vintage Airstreams, and to newer models that still shared the signature Aviation Age aesthetic, evoking the optimism of an era when the road trip itself was still new.
Today, as remote work makes domestic travel more accessible than ever, the Airstream represents the future that Byam predicted. The comforts of the 21st century are new, but the draw of the road has not diminished.

The Rangers (23-22) are 1-5 in their last six games, which includes being swept at Colorado last weekend and losing the first two games of their home series with the Cleveland Guardians. A win on Wednesday kept the Rangers from extending a season-long losing streak.
Before that, Texas had won four straight series and climbed back into the lead in the American League West. After this 1-5 stretch the Rangers are 1 1/2 games behind the Seattle Mariners for the division lead.
The Rangers are still waiting on reinforcements from the injured list. The Rangers hope to get outfielder Evan Carter into the starting lineup this weekend after he returned on Wednesday to pinch-hit after dealing with back stiffness.
Texas is hopeful that pitcher Dane Dunning will be back for the next road trip and another injured starter, Nathan Eovaldi, will be back by the end of the month.
The Angels (16-28) have struggled after a good start and are without outfielder Mike Trout and third baseman Anthony Rendon due to injuries.
Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, how to watch, listen and more.

Sky close out two-game road trip with 83-74 win over Wings, first under new coach Teresa Weatherspoon
"[the biggest difference] was a desire to win,” sky coach teresa weatherspoon said. “we were hungry to get it done, and we bettered ourselves in the second half.”.

ARLINGTON, Texas — After falling apart in the closing minutes of their season-opening loss, the Sky flipped the script Saturday and overcame an eight-point deficit to beat those same Wings 83-74.
“[The biggest difference] was a desire to win,” coach Teresa Weatherspoon said. “We were hungry to get it done, and we bettered ourselves in the second half.”
Wings coach Latricia Trammell spoke all week about needing to find extra personnel for this game. After forward Natasha Howard fractured her foot in the opener Wednesday, the Wings had fewer than 10 players available before signing forward Monique Billings to a hardship contract.
“You want to play?” Trammell jokingly asked media members Friday.
It seemed like the Wings had all they needed to get another victory, but they hit a wall in the fourth quarter. The Sky outscored them 28-11. Arike Ogunbowale accounted for all but two of Dallas’ 11 points.
- Wings spoil Teresa Weatherspoon’s coaching debut, beating Sky 87-79 in opener
After going 2-for-8 from the free-throw line in the first game, Sky rookie Angel Reese vowed to make amends. Reese did, going 5-for-7 from the foul line, but she only shot 3-for-9 from the field. Her first field goal was a reverse layup in the fourth quarter. She sat for much of the second and third quarters after getting into foul trouble.
Reese had 11 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Diamond DeShields led the Sky with 16 points, playing 24 minutes, up from the 18 she logged Wednesday. Six Sky players scored in double figures.
Weatherspoon returned to her starting lineup at the beginning of the fourth quarter after being forced into other rotations with Reese and Elizabeth Williams saddled with four fouls apiece. Marina Mabrey opened the quarter with a three-pointer to cut the Sky’s deficit to five.
“We knew we had to come out swinging to start the fourth,” DeShields said. “Anytime ‘Money’ Mabrey gets to knock one down, it makes the whole team feel good.”
Williams had a chance to tie the game by converting a three-point opportunity with just under seven minutes left. But she missed the free throw, which resulted in a three-point opportunity for Reese, who made the free throw to put the Sky up by two.
- Overwhelming sense of gratitude accompanied Diamond DeShields’ return to court with Sky
Ogunbowale lit up the Sky’s backcourt players, getting them to bite on her shot fake all night. She had a game-high 35 points. After a three-pointer cut the Wings’ deficit to three, Trammell signaled for the crowd to get louder.
“She’s a volume shooter,” DeShields said. “She’s going to get them up. We just tried to focus on showing hand and making sure every shot was contested. All you can do is guard it the best you can and make it as difficult as possible.
“We live with the outcome as long as we defend the right way.”
A block by Williams, her fifth, with less than a minute to play was the final blow, sending Wings fans to the exits. She had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.
There are still major areas of concern for the Sky, starting with their 19 turnovers. Another area that needs attention is their rebounding. They gave up 20 points on second-chance opportunities.
“We’re getting to know one another,” Weatherspoon said. “They were doing exactly what was asked of them, maybe trying to share a little bit too much. I was comfortable with what they were trying to do, knowing that those are things we can correct.”
