ATLANTA – Today Emmy & Grammy nominated comedian, Bill Burr announced additional shows on his 2023 live tour. He’ll be making a stop in Atlanta, Georgia at the award-winning State Farm Arena on November 8.

Bill Burr is an Emmy and Grammy nominated American comedian or a comedian from the North American Union, depending on when you read this.  He grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and did fairly poorly in school, despite the fact that he applied himself.

Having first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season of Chappelle’s Show , Bill developed a comedic style of uninformed logic that has made him a regular with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon.

Bill’s film, Old Dads , premiered on Netflix on October 20 as the most-watched film worldwide on Netflix in its first and second week.  Bill directed, co-wrote and stars in the film alongside Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine. Produced by Miramax and Bill’s All Things Comedy, the film focuses on three friends who, after selling their company to a millennial, find themselves out of step and behind the times as they hilariously struggle to navigate a changing world of culture, career and fatherhood. 

Bill will voice a lead role in Adam Sandler’s animated Netflix film, Leo , premiering November 21. 

Bill’s current tour, Bill Burr Live , is touring arenas and amphitheaters across Europe and North America.  On August 21, 2022, Bill made history as the first comedian to perform at Fenway Park.

On July 12, 2022, Bill premiered the Netflix special, Bill Burr: Live At Red Rocks , which was shot in October 2021 at the legendary venue.  On June 6, 2022, Netflix premiered the special, Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill , which was hosted by Bill, featuring a line-up of performers curated by Bill and shot on May 4 at The Hollywood Palladium.

Bill was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor In A Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series for his Roku Channel series, Bill Burr Presents: Immoral Compass ,

which premiered on November 5, 2021 and is free to stream online.  Directed by Tyler Falbo, Immoral Compass is a dark psychological thriller comedy series that explores how far “normal” people will go to get what they want.  The series features performances by Vince Vaughn, Nick Swardson, Mary Lynn Raskub, Bobby Lee, Sarah Burns, Kurt Fuller, Al Madrigal, Niles Fitch, Neil Casey, John Gemberling, Camille Hyde, Ione Skye, Steven Weber, Lukas Gage, Marielle Scott, Kyle Dunnigan, Grace Van Dien, Lyrica Okano, Grace Zabriske, Richa Moorjani, Michelle Ortiz, Fahim Anwar, David Dastmalchian, Lori Petty.

Bill’s animated Netflix series, F Is For Family , premiered its fifth and final season on Thanksgiving Day 2021 featuring Bill, Laura Dern, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell in the cast.  The fourth season premiered on June 12, 2020 with Jonathan Banks guest starring as Bill’s character’s dad, reuniting Bill and Jonathan from their Breaking Bad days.

In September 2021, Bill made a guest appearance as Coach Bobson in episode 7 of the hit FX on Hulu series, Reservation Dogs and on September 23, Bill released the live, vinyl, double album, Bill Burr Live From Madison Square Garden .  Recorded live at Madison Square Garden on November 7, 2018, the album features Bill’s full, unedited performance, start to finish, in front of a sold-out crowd.  

On October 10, 2020, Bill made his debut as host of Saturday Night Live .  Bill stars in the Judd Apatow film, The King Of Staten Island, alongside Pete Davidson and Marisa Tomei, which premiered on June 12, 2020, available on demand, and is now available on HBO Max. 

Bill portrays the character Migs Mayfeld in The Mandalorian , the hit Disney Plus series set in the Star Wars universe.  A former Imperial sharpshooter turned mercenary, Mayfeld is a pivotal character in the Season 1 episode, “Chapter 6: The Prisoner,” and in the Season 2 episode, “Chapter 15: The Believer.”

On September 10, 2019, Bill premiered his sixth hour-long special, Bill Burr: Paper Tiger, on Netflix, and the album was nominated for a Grammy Award.  The special was shot on March 4 & 5, 2019 at London’s Royal Albert Hall during his U.K. and European tour.

Bill can be seen in the films, The Front Runner, starring Hugh Jackman, Daddy’s Home with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, Black or White with Kevin Costner, Walk of Shame with Elizabeth Banks, The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, Stand Up Guys with Al Pacino and Christopher Walken, and Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey.

Bill received raves for his recurring role as “Kuby” on the hit AMC-TV show, Breaking Bad, he was seen in multiple episodes of the hit Comedy Central show, Kroll Show , he guest starred on Fox TV’s New Girl in 2013 and contributed to the 2011 & 2012 ESPYS .

One of the most popular comedy podcasts on the web, Bill’s Monday Morning Podcast , is an off-the-cuff, twice-weekly rant that has become a fan favorite.  Bill began the podcast in May of 2007.

Bill will make his third appearance at Madison Square Garden on November 10, 2023, following sold-out appearances on November 7, 2018 and November 14, 2015.  He made his sold-out debut at Royal Albert Hall on June 6, 2018.  Bill’s fifth hour-long stand-up special, Walk Your Way Out , premiered on Netflix on January 31, 2017.  The special was shot on October 21, 2016 at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.  In the summer of 2016, his fourth European theatre tour brought Bill back to Ireland, the U.K., Amsterdam and he made first visits to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Cologne, Germany and Antwerp, Belgium.

From January 27 through February 10, 2015 Bill made his first tour of theaters in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mumbai.  On December 5, 2014, Bill premiered his fourth hour-long special, I’m Sorry You Feel That Way , on Netflix; the special was recorded on June 20, 2014 at The Tabernacle in Atlanta.  On September 30, 2014, Bill released the vinyl album, Live At Andrew’s House , a recording of his 2011 Carnegie Hall performance, from Third Man Records.  In July of 2014, Bill received the Stand-up Comedian of the Year Award from the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.  In December 2013, his third European theater tour played to rave reviews in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and Reykjavik. 

In October 2012, Bill released his third hour-long special, You People Are All The Same , available for download exclusively through his website and streaming on Netflix.  Bill starred in two hour-long specials on Comedy Central: Bill Burr: Let It Go (2010) is available as a DVD, a digital audio download and on Netflix; Why Do I Do This? (2008) is available on CD, DVD and Netflix.

Bill Burr bringing 2024 comedy tour to Detroit's Little Caesars Arena

Comedian Bill Burr is coming to a super-sized venue in Detroit next year.

Burr will be performing at Little Caesars Arena on March 10 as part of his newly announced "Bill Burr Live" tour, which will travel to 16 cities from February to July.

Tickets will be available to purchase starting at 10 a.m. Friday at three sites: 313Presents.com, LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com, with presale tickets arriving at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Burr's arena stop in the Motor City is a sign of his current popularity. The acerbic funny man's cranky style has been keeping him busy with his hit "Monday Morning Podcast" and a 2023 tour in Europe and North America.

In October, his latest film, "Old Dads," landed on Netflix at the top spot on the streaming site's movie list. He stars with Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine in the story of three later-in-life dads who face challenges raising their young kids in the millennial world.

Burr co-wrote the movie and made his directing debut with it. "Old Dads" currently has a 26% positive score among critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but a whopping 86% thumbs-up with audiences.

Everyone’s favorite Bostonian is coming to the Big Apple.

Bill Burr , 55, has been tapped to headline at NYCs Madison Square Garden on Friday, Nov. 10 as part of the annual New York Comedy Festival .

This will be Burr’s third NYCF performance at the Knicks and Rangers’ home.

If it seems like Burr is showing up in every movie or TV show you see these days, you wouldn’t be wrong.

These past few years, he appeared in Pete Davidson’s semi-autobiographical film “King Of Staten Island” as well as TV shows like Disney +’s “The Mandalorian,” Netflix’s “F Is For Family,” FX’s “Reservation Dogs” and the Roku Channel’s “Immoral Compass.”

There’s more to come though.

Here’s a quick peek at what’s next for Burr.

“Leo”  tells the story of a septuagenarian lizard named Leo (Adam Sandler). All is right in the world until he and his turtle friend bust out of a Florida school classroom. The star-studded cast is rounded out by Stephanie Hsu, Heidi Gardner, Jason Alexander, Cecily Strong and Robert Smigel.

“Hate To See You Go”  stars Morgan Freeman as an aging Chicago blues musician who refuses to retire and returns to the road. Freeman and Burr will be joined by Alfre Woodard and Common in the film.

“Old Dads”  will be Burr’s directorial debut. The comedy pokes fun at three, well-to-do Gen X best friends who sell their company to a Millennial. Over the course of the flick, the pals discover they have a lot to learn about the constantly evolving world. Comedy ringers Rachael Harris, Katie Asleton, Bobby Cannavale, Josh Brener, Rory Scovel and Natasha Leggero co-star.

“Drugstore June”  puts a girl who lives at home with her parents front and center to solve the crime of a small town pharmacy robbery. All the while, she’s doing her best to move on from her ex and grow up. Familiar faces in the cast include Haley Joel Osment, Beverly D’Angelo, Bobby Lee, Matt Walsh and Al Madrigal.

An Emmy and Grammy nominated comedian, Bill Burr is one of the top comedic voices of his generation achieving success in TV and film as well as on stage.  Bill’s Monday Morning Podcast is one of the most downloaded comedy podcasts, his 2023 arena and amphitheater tour, Bill Burr Live , is touring across Europe and North America and on August 21, 2022, Bill made history as the first comedian to perform at Fenway Park.

On October 20, Bill’s film, Old Dads , will premiere on Netflix.  Bill directed, co-wrote and stars in the film alongside Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine.  And on November 21, Bill will voice a lead role in Adam Sandler’s animated Netflix film, Leo .

This event is a phone-free experience by Yondr. Use of phones, smart watches, and accessories will not be permitted in the performance space. No cameras or recording devices will be permitted in the venue. 

Upon arrival at the venue, phones, smart watches and airpods will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their devices at all times and can access them throughout the event only in designated Phone Use Areas within the venue in the  BMO Club on the Event Level, Main Concourse near Section 121, on the Suite Level near Suite 18, and Upper Concourse near Sections 223/224 . All devices will be re-secured in Yondr pouches before returning to the performance space 

All pouches and equipment are routinely sanitized. The Yondr staff is trained and required to follow safety guidelines and hygiene protocols.

At the conclusion of the performance, Yondr staff will be stationed at all exits to unlock your phone.

Superstar comedian Bill Burr is coming to Syracuse.

Burr will perform a stand-up comedy show at the Upstate Medical Arena at The Oncenter War Memorial on Oct. 3. No opening act has been named.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster ; presale tickets will be available Wednesday at 10 a.m. Prices may vary.

It’s the only Upstate New York stop on Burr’s 2023 tour dates.

Burr, 54, is a comedian, actor, filmmaker and podcaster with multiple comedy specials, including the Grammy-nominated “Paper Tiger.” His credits also include “The Mandalorian,” “Breaking Bad,” “The King of Staten Island,” “Chappelle’s Show” and the Netflix animated series “ F is for Family ,” which referenced Syracuse multiple times.

• Walk thru metal detectors at all entrances of the facility; all patrons will walk through a metal detector prior to gaining access to the arena. If needed, security will perform pat downs on patrons in addition to the metal detectors

Standup Bill Burr brings brash style of comedy to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, 'I'm just being silly'

Anyone who has a sibling remembers their parents at some point saying, "They wouldn't pick on you if they didn't like you."

It's a mantra that is the underbelly of most of what comes out of comedian Bill Burr's mouth.

While widely known for his unfiltered, no-holds-barred comedy where no topic is above a good roast, Burr's brash and opinionated take on, well, everything has earned him Emmy and Grammy award nominations. He recently become the first comedian to perform at (and sell out) 35,000-seat Fenway Park in his hometown of Boston.

"Here's the thing," Burr told The Tennessean. "I would never say those (offensive) things to someone I didn't love. If I don't like someone, I just go, 'Hey, how you doing?' I mean, comedians, that's all we do. I just did a podcast with Jon Lovitz and all we did was insult each other for an hour. People loved it."

Why exactly does Burr think his style of humor is so popular?

"Because, you know, I'm just being silly," he said. "If I do say something to make fun of people, it's usually ridiculous, so it would make me look stupid if I believed it."

Bill's backstory

If you only know Burr from one of his seven standup comedy specials or his "Monday Morning Podcast," you've got some homework to do.

Burr is also an accomplished actor, writer, director and producer, with a resume as strong as his Boston accent.

In 2024 alone, in addition to the Bill Burr Live comedy tour currently canvassing the country, he can be seen in Jerry Seinfeld's Netflix film, "Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart story" and he executive produced and acts in the film "Drugstore June."

" Old Dads ," his directorial debut and his debut in a lead role, premiered in October 2023 as the most-watched film worldwide on Netflix during its first and second week on the platform, with 29.6 million views in the first 10 days.

He appeared in "The Mandalorian" and co-created and co-wrote "F Is for Family" alongside Laura Dern, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell.

Early on in his comedy career, Burr saw that he needed to open additional avenues for employment, so 30 years ago, he started taking acting lessons.

"I started out as a comedian and then, you know, I talked to other comics and they were getting opportunities to act and the ones that couldn't act, you only knew one time in this business," he said. "So that first time they see you and then they hand you a script, if you don't know what to do with it, that can set you back years."

Burr says he has empathy for people who live in Nashville

Burr, who cut his chops early on performing at the comedy club Zanies in Nashville, said there's nothing worse than living in a cool city and everybody around the country all of a sudden wants to move there.

"My favorite thing is when people buy into a place like Nashville and then they go out and buy local people clothes and try and blend in," he said. "And you go to visit them and it's like, 'Did you buy a ranch? Why are you dressed like that?'"

As he embarks on his tour, he says he's got the best 90 minutes (of material) he's ever written.

"I'm having more fun than I've ever had doing standup," he said. "And you know what I'm not talking about on this tour? This stupid presidential election. I'm completely ignoring it. So if you would like a night off from this whole sky is falling type of stuff that people are talking about, my show would be a good one to go see."
