Great activity

My husband, daughter and I took a 30 minute ride. We let the driver choose her favorite route. She was friendly and knowledgeable. The horses are well cared for and happy. I would definitely do it again.

Our 5th wedding anniversary. I forgot! They were able to reserve a spot. The driver and cody....sorry, it was the name I could remember! The experience and detailed history of EVERYTHING kept the night filled with great conversation and a night to remember!! Thank you, Lucy & Jamie

I highly recommend going on this carriage ride at the beginning of your trip if at all possible. The guided tour (Gene Leahy tour) will familiarize you with all the must-see spots for your visit to Omaha. Carriage driver (Kelly) was nice and friendly— she offered to take our photos after the ride. The horse (“Prince”) was calm and didn’t mind us petting him at all. Very nice experience.

There is a reason "Magical" is part of their name. Jenna, our coach person was awesome and Doc, our carriage horse was spirited and eager. Our ride was the start of our Valentine's Day evening, but don't wait for a special occasion, make it happen sooner than later. We only did the 30 minute ride, but in the springtime we'll definitely do an hour instead.

We did the Gene Leahy Tour in December to see the lights. There were 3 of us, myself, sister, and cousin. We had an awesome time. We love hearing the facts about the buildings and town. The lights were beautiful. The carriage ride was so much fun. It was a pretty chilly night, but we didn't mind. Thank you for a great time!

Even though it was very cold and windy. Driver was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Tour of the park was awesome. They even supplied us with a blanket. Will do again

‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Part 1 Finale Breakdown: That Carriage Sex Scene, Changes From the Book and the ‘Heavier Conflicts’ Set to Come in Part 2

Bridgerton

SPOILER ALERT: This interview contains spoilers from “Old Friends,” the fourth episode of Season 3 of Netflix’s “ Bridgerton .”

“For God’s sake, Penelope Featherington. Are you going to marry me or not?”

The first half of Season 3 of “Bridgerton” ends with these breathtaking words, as Colin (Luke Newton) proposes to Penelope (Nicola Coughlan). What a cliffhanger! Will Penelope say yes? Will she reveal that she’s Lady Whistledown? Could Colin be any more romantic?

Yet this moment is just one development in a half-season full of drama, deceit and Debling. Luckily, showrunner Jess Brownell gave Variety insight into the season’s biggest moments.

Popular on Variety

The carriage scene in the book functions a little differently. It’s the moment where Colin realizes that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, but to pay homage to that scene, we still have it functioning as a moment where Colin starts seeing Penelope differently — or at least finally announces that he is starting to see her differently. It’s also a big moment for Colin, as someone who has tried to be this cool guy who’s aloof and a man of few words. He’s been feeling the pressure of holding all that in all this season, and suddenly it all comes tumbling out in that carriage scene.

We had initially imagined it as Pen and Colin sitting side-by-side, so they were having this intimate conversation. But [director] Andrew [Ahn] had the idea of staging them across from each other, partly because it’s easier to film in a carriage on a stage, but also so that when Colin wants to get closer to express himself to Penelope, he’s required to get down on his knees. That creates a nice visual for a man who ignored this girl romantically for two seasons, to then have to be begging for her.

In the books, Colin finds out about Penelope being Lady Whistledown before they get engaged — why did you decide to change the order of things?

When you’re adapting the books, how are you able to toe the line between telling a fresh story for television while satisfying the series’ loyal readers?

I always try to honor the spirit and emotional journey of the book, and in the first week of the writers’ room, we always sit down and pick out the key moments of the book: The key set pieces, the key settings, the key scenes that we want to see. I would say almost all of those moments are in this season, they just might not necessarily be in the same order.

As far as how much we’re changing, it has to do with externalizing the plot. So much of a plot in a novel can be internal monologue or quieter dialogue between two characters, and we need to find ways in our grand world in which we’re very concerned with scale and being out and about in the world. We need to find ways for those plots to be externalized. For example, that’s why we came up with the charm school plot between Penelope and Colin. It’s a way to externalize some of the conversations in the book they have about confidence and popularity.

Is there one special scene or moment this season that you’re excited for fans to see?

There is a set piece in Episode 5 that I’m excited about, where we have all of our regular characters together in one plac — just them and only them. There’s a sense of organized chaos towards the end of that episode where the tension just continues ramping up, and it almost plays as a theatrical production because it’s all taking place in one room. I’m excited for fans to see that set.

What else could you tease about the upcoming second half of the season?

The back half of the season in many ways is the upside-down world of the first half. If the first half is all playful and light and very much grounded in a rom-com sensibility, as soon as we jump into the back half, you have these much heavier conflicts that come into play. This includes the fact that Penelope is hiding that she’s Lady Whistledown from Colin, and her relationship with Eloise still not being in a great place, just as she’s getting together with her brother. So the tension starts ramping up.

This interview has been edited and condsensed. The second half of “Bridgerton” Season 3 will debut on June 13 on Netflix.

Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton.

[This story contains major spoilers from  Bridgerton   season three, Part 1.]

Dearest gentle readers, Penelope Featherington ( Nicola Coughlan ) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) finally get together at the end of Bridgerton season three, Part 1.

Related Stories

John krasinski debuts 'if,' 'bridgerton' takes new york and this week's best events, nicola coughlan recalls pranking luke newton on 'bridgerton' set after learning about his boy band past.

In the final moments of Part 1 (the season has a two-part release), Colin admits he has feelings for Penelope. And after the very steamy carriage scene (a favorite from the book), they’re on track to be married, with the Bridgerton sibling asking his bride-to-be, “Penelope Featherington, are you going to marry me or not?”

While there could not have been a sweeter way to begin their love story, one massive secret looms over the happy couple: Penelope is Lady Whistledown. With Colin proclaiming early in the season that he will do whatever he can to ruin the Ton’s gossip columnist if he ever finds out who she is, chances are that their beautiful bubble will soon be popped.

“I think it makes the story just so juicy that we constantly have that noise in the back of the room,” Luke Newton tells The Hollywood Reporter of Pen’s secret. “No matter how happy things are and how good things are, [it can’t last].”

Below, the stars of Bridgerton season three open up about what’s to come for the couple in part two as they shift from friends to lovers.

Season one’s romance was immediate. Season two’s was more slow-burning. And your season is a little bit of both. How did you approach Polin’s storyline differently from Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon’s (Regé-Jean Page) and Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey)?

LUKE NEWTON Even at the premiere the other night , I realized how much can happen in one episode. And I think, in previous seasons, we needed to introduce everyone, particularly in season one. It took a while to introduce all these different families and these lead characters, and for us, because it focuses so much on Colin and Pen’s love story, we get to hit the ground running straight away, which is so exciting. And then welcome new characters as we go on.

The famous carriage scene from the book Romancing Mr. Bridgerton takes place at the end of Part 1. Why do you think Penelope and Colin’s intimate scenes are so heightened?

COUGHLAN Fans have invested in the characters for two seasons. For anyone, it’s easy to say girls who have felt like this — guys who have felt like this, anyone who’s felt like this — anyone who has had this crush and this love for someone who doesn’t see them, and it was just written so beautifully. It had everything. I always say that scene for me has everything that makes Bridgerton magic, because it has the romance, suspense, drama, the miscommunication and then the sexiness, and then the beautiful moments of humor. But it was a scene that stuck out to me, certainly when I read the book all those years ago, and it’s that familiarity. I feel like that moment where they laugh together is really magic, because that’s true intimacy — to me, anyway.

Also at the end of Part 1, Penelope and Colin seem to be the definition of happy. They’re on cloud nine. But Pen’s Whistledown secret looms over them. How do you think Colin is going to take the news in Part 2, assuming he finds out?

NEWTON It’s interesting going into that, because, how is he going to find out? Because, realistically, he didn’t see Penelope who was essentially in love with him for three previous years. His whole life, she’s kind of been infatuated by him, and he’s never seen that. So, how is he going to discover this massive secret she’s a pro at keeping? But I think it makes the story so juicy that we constantly have that noise in the back of the room that’s constantly going, and you’re like, no matter how happy things are and how good things are… I also love the bit that Colin is just in his real giddy mood.

COUGHLAN I love episodes five and six when they’re in that giddy, giddy time, and they’re so in love because that’s the thing. Some of the best things in this show are when you see people truly in love with one another, so blissfully happy.

NEWTON That must have been a terrible bit for Pen, because you’re jumping from moments of joy to really the realization of like, “Yeah, well, I’m the ticking time clock.”

NEWTON I think it’s been a slow preparation since our very first scene. I wouldn’t say there’s a drastic difference in the spark and connection between them. We see it in the first episode of season one. It’s not like there was nothing, and it was purely friendship. There’s always been an interest from both and whether Colin’s been clouded by other things that get in the way in his pursuit for a purpose or whatever, there’s always been a connection between them. It’s been the slowest burn out of all the love stories within the show. So, it never really felt like we had to go, “Alright, let’s step it up.” We definitely tried to pace it throughout those episodes.

COUGHLAN We were very conscious of that, because we wanted each moment to feel really earned. We were reticent about the sexy dream scene. That juxtaposed with them having their first kiss and this imagined first meeting where they’re sometimes way more calm and sexy, like, “I’ve been thinking about you,” and “Oh, I’ve been thinking about you.” Then their first actual meeting under that tree is so awkward and terrible. I now love that that’s the reality.

COUGHLAN But it doesn’t. It’s hard to think of the whole run of the story when you’re in the midst of filming because, obviously, you film out of a sequence.

NEWTON That’s when it’s like, hat’s off to Jess [Brownell], she just knew exactly what she was doing.

Bridgerton season three, Part 1, is streaming on Netflix now. Part 2 releases June 13. Read Brownell’s take on Part 1.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

magical journeys carriage service

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

magical journeys carriage service

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

magical journeys carriage service

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

magical journeys carriage service

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

magical journeys carriage service

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

magical journeys carriage service

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

magical journeys carriage service

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Google's most advanced multimodal models in Vertex AI

We’re excited to share that Gartner has recognized Google as a Visionary in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). Participating for the first time in the Magic Quadrant for SIEM, we have been positioned as a Visionary because of our powerful search capabilities that help drive threat hunting and rapid investigation, as well as our fully integrated SOAR platform and integrated threat intelligence from Mandiant and VirusTotal.

“Google’s product enhancements for more classic SIEM functions have opened up Google Security Operations as a viable SIEM competitor,” 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SIEM.

The journey to reimagining security operations

Google Security Operations reimagines SecOps with a cloud-born,  intelligence-driven, and AI-powered security operations platform built to accelerate the ability to detect, defend against, and respond to threats. In recent months, we have continued to advance this vision with innovative capabilities, including:

A unified platform : With our new consolidated experience for SIEM and SOAR functionality, security teams can benefit from rich context and easy pivoting between alerts, cases, investigations, and playbooks in a single console, for a more streamlined and integrated threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR) experience. Last week at RSA, we launched Google Security Operations , continuing our investment in an intelligence- and AI-driven security operations platform.

An AI-powered platform: With Gemini in Security Operations , we were the first major cloud provider to make generative AI generally available to defenders in a unified SecOps platform. Gemini in Security Operations can enable defenders to search vast amounts of data in seconds using natural language and make faster decisions by answering questions, summarizing events, hunting for threats, creating rules, and delivering recommended actions based on the context of investigations. Security teams can also use Gemini in Security Operations to easily build response playbooks, customize configurations, and incorporate best practices — helping simplify time-consuming tasks that require deep expertise.

An intelligence-driven platform : Our release of Applied Threat Intelligence unlocks deeper threat hunting and investigation workflows by providing high-quality insights about threats. This can enable users to spend less time on monitoring activities and uses deep insights from Mandiant experts and the breadth of crowd-sourced insights from VirusTotal users.

Expert help when you need it : Mandiant Hunt provides threat hunting by Mandiant experts, who use your cloud and Google Security Operations data to potentially expose previously undetected attacker activity.

Strengthening nationwide cyber defense: Our Google SecOps CyberShield solution can help enable governments to enhance threat and situational awareness, build cybersecurity skills and capabilities, and facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration to raise the bar for security at a national level.

Building for our customers first

We are committed to working closely with our customers, and to ensure that our accelerated pace of innovation helps them better defend against the latest cyberthreats. In the words of the CISO of a multi-billion dollar automotive company, “Our cybersecurity teams deal with issues faster with Google Security Operations, but they also identify more issues. The real question is, ‘how much safer do I feel as a CISO with Google Security Operations versus my old platform?’ and I would say 100 times safer . ”

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
