We came acros Les Trois Rois while wandering around Place Plumereau.Seems to be in the perfect spot. Prices quite reasonable but not very cheap either. Good service and friendly staff.

Excellent service from Irish waiter who knew his beers. He wasn’t getting any of mine the weather was too hot. Great setting in the old town area. Worth another visit 🍺👍

Relaxed, convivial, noisy and great service. A modern French bar, with a healthy dose of Irish hospitality. I’ve spent a lot of time here and it’s as good on a wet night in January as it is on a balmy night in June. A happy... mix of locals, tourists and students and a cracking line up of local wines and beers. More

(Sur Tripadvisor, il y a Plein d'avis, dans Ce Sens Négatif... Arrogant, Désagréable,...). Quand fut venu le temps du couronnement le roi ne s'est pas présenté. A l'instar des rois maudits de Maurice Druon, il semble que cette lignée tourangelle n'est pas été vernie. Après avoir déambulé dans Tours une agréable pose, très bon accueil des serveurs, la fréquentation du lieu et de son entourage reste respectueux des gestes barrières covid-19, on reviendra c'est sûre. Reste à trouver une place pour se poser.

Ce samedi 25 juillet sous le ciel couvert en accord avec la mélodie de l’accordéon , nous nous sommes aventurés dans ce bistrot “les 3 rois”. Premier abord le serveur plutôt mal aimable et un service déplorable, pour une commande de 4 personnes un verre... oublié...mal organisé. Le temps d attente reste convenable malgré la vue auguste de place plumereau. Ahhh Plus

Un bar convivial et cosy où l’on se sent presque que comme chez soi. Un large choix de bière dont d’excellentes bières locales. Le personnel est accueillant et disponible. Bref, il faut y aller pour y retourner!!!

Not the easiest restaurant to find but once inside it has a certain traditional standing which is reassuring. Nice welcome, nice table settings even if it’s a bit outdated. Service ok so in general no complaints however….the food served was just uninteresting, poorly presented and... in general well below what I was expecting. My fellow diners all seemed happy though so maybe I am too difficult. I can’t say anything was bad, just well below what I would expect for the price paid! I might try it a second time! More

We had a great welcome from the wife and husband who run this hotel and restaurant and a comfortable stay in a first-floor room which overlooked the quiet courtyard. Our room was a little on the small side but major positives were the undercover secure... parking at the rear of the hotel and the choice of imaginative food and local wine in the hotel’s elegant restaurant. A word of warning: if travelling by car, plan your arrival carefully. The hotel is on the corner of a main street and a narrow side road which is one-way from the other direction. An evening stroll around the old town and its remaining fortifications added to an enjoyable overnight stay. More

The hotel is down a one way street with some parking off the road in a courtyard. Polite and helpful welcome. Although no aircon a fan had been left on in the room due to the exceptional hot weather, which did help. Our room was... adequate and clean. Dinner was in a room with aircon, which made the meal more enjoyable. The menu was in English as well, and most of the staff spoke it too, which does help as my French is somewhat limited. Review is for hotel/restaurant. Elegant, small hotel-restaurant in the heart of Issoudun, with some covered parking in their “courtyard”. We made our reservations on their web-site. We were warmly welcomed, and our room was very elegant, comfortable and well-appointed. Their restaurant has limited seating, so... it would be good to reserve a table if you plan to eat there. We had their 3-course menu and enjoyed it. The soupe du jour was an interesting take on gazpacho — it tasted like watermelon, instead of the spicy tomato based soup were accustomed to in the US. My wife had the charcuterie platter, which was both generous and tasty. Our mains were almond crusted trout with potatoes, mushrooms, and a creative foamy carrot mouse — quite good. In lieu of dessert, for a 4e supplement, my wife had the fromage — 4 very small slices of local cheese. For dessert I had their version of tarte tatin, which I enjoyed. Our meal went well with an affordable 2016 Reynaudat Reuilly Les Lignes. Their dining room was somewhat rustic, but elegant, with elegant stemware, as well. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nicely done, as well. We highly recommend the hotel as a base for exploring the Loire or as a pleasant stop en route from Provence to Brittany. More

I was fortunate enough to enjoy two excellent lunches at Les 3 Rois this past week. The setting is classic French sophistication with sparkling glasses (the matching white swirls on each is creative). Service is impeccable yet relaxed. I had the €24 fixed price lunch... both times. There were several selections for each of the 3 courses. The starters included a fresh squash soup (with cheese and croutons), a fresh vegetables salad, and a very large plate of pork sausages. All excellent. The mains included a whole trout, mackerel, and a large burger (prepared very, very rare). All very fresh and delicious. Desserts included some lovely fresh fruit tarts, fruit salad, and a local cheese selection. Again, all first rate. The wine selection was very good with some local vineyards at modest prices. It's a small town but if you are nearby, say Bourges, it's worth the short drive. More

At first I had mixed feelings about this restaurant. When called to book a table of 6 for 8:45pm, we were asked to book earlier because they wanted to close the restaurant early. Also the menu was clearly not proof-read as it was full of... spelling mistakes, however it does include an English version, making it ideal for tourists. The negative side of it was ordering in English as the staff appeared to have difficulty understanding my order so I had to switch to French. My feelings did take a positive turn when the food arrived though, prices are reasonable and the food was well prepared with generous portions (at least for the dishes i ordered- Cold cuts, house burger, apple tatin). My colleague from Issoudun invited me for lunch. To me it was a comfortable atmosphere in good style. In summer you can also sit outside on the patio and will be protected from the sun. The offered food was of good quality and " a... point " . I had a three course menu at a really impressive price for this quality. Also nice local wine. Had two lunches here hosted by a local company. Meals were pre-planned and all the same, but the selection of food and quality of both service and wine service superb. Duck was exceptional, with wonderful sauces made from red wine. Desserts are particularly spectacular; delicate... cakes with delicious sauces; artistically arranged surgar sculptures and chocolate 'laces' make for an amazing presentation. Almost too good to eat.
