With so many Paros boat tours available, it might seem difficult to pick the best one.

So, I’ve gathered the best boat trips Paros offers to make it easier for you to select the one that fits your traveling style.

What To Bring On Paros Boat Tours?

Your Paros boat tour packing list will look a lot like a regular boat trip packing list. If you’ve never been on a boat day trip here’s what you’ll need to pack:

  • Bag (ideally waterproof, if not, at least a waterproof pouch for electronics)
  • Water bottle
  • A hoodie or a cardigan

You won’t need a waterproof bag on every type of boat trip. If you’re taking a larger boat, your stuff will probably stay dry as there is a dedicated dry space to put it. However, if you’re on a smaller speed boat, the water will likely splash everywhere!

A swimsuit (and something dry to change into!) is a must if you’ll be swimming on the trip.

You can take a regular beach towel, but if you’re backpacking Cyclades you probably have a quick dry microfibre towel. It works great, and I love mine!

Sunscreen is a must! There’s no debate about that one. Putting it on before you go won’t be enough. Make sure to have a bottle of sunscreen with you, the sun is strong in Paros!

Some of Paros boat trips will serve food or even a full lunch! However, as a vegan, I always pack some snacks in case there are no vegan options available

Even if you’re traveling to Paros in summer, it can get chilly at night. Also, speedboats are very windy, so a hoodie can come in handy. Worst case scenario, you’ll wrap yourself in a towel.

I love to take a GoPro on boat tours as it is waterproof (and saltwater resistant, unlike the iPhone!) and you can take incredible underwater photos.

Best Places To Visit On Boat Trips From Paros?

OK, you know you want to take a Paros sailing tour, but you’re not sure where to go.

The Small Cyclades are the best place to discover on a sailing tour from Paros. These small islands are often overlooked as most of them are inhabited and too small to spend a night. They are also popular day trips from Naxos , as the beaches are incredible!

Antiparos is an island right next to Paros, and it is one of the best day trips from Paros you can take.

Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades, with some of the most beautiful white sand beaches. With a boat tour, you get to visit more remote beaches that are harder to reach by land.

Mykonos is infamous as one of the most expensive Cyclades to visit. However, it is a beautiful island, and combined with a trip to Delos is a must-see in the Cyclades. Joining a day trip from Paros is an excellent way to enjoy the island and avoid overpriced accommodation in Mykonos.

Paros boat cruises depart from multiple ports throughout the island – Piso Livadi Port, Pounta Port, Naoussa Port, and Parikia Port. Parikia is the main ferry port you would take to get around the Cyclades, but most boat cruises depart from smaller ports around the island.

Yes, you can book several boat trips departing from Naoussa, Paros. That is perfect for those staying in Paros without a car , as you don’t have to worry about getting to the departure point. At the same time, many Paros boat tours offer complimentary hotel pick-up!

Yes, you can join a Paros sunset cruise. There are group and private Paros sunset cruises. With a private sunset cruise, the whole boat is reserved just for you and your group. Those traveling solo or in a group of fewer than 4 people can join a group Paros sunset sailing available as well!

Should You Take a Paros Boat Tour or a Ferry?

Paros is the central ferry port of the Cycladic Islands and there are multiple ferries from nearby islands and Athens daily.

So why not hop on a ferry and take a day tour to a nearby island? Sometimes this is a great idea, and I do it a lot. A ferry is ideal when you just want a mode of transportation from one place to another.

But here are the top reasons why a boat tour around Paros and to some of the nearby islands is a better option:

⛴️ A ferry won’t show you around the coastline of Paros Island and its nearby tiny islands of Antiparos and Despotika.

⛴️ You can’t stop the ferry and swim, snorkel, and explore!

⛴️ Ferry times are occasionally convenient, but often just don’t work for day trips and some require an overnight stay. It’s just not possible for some destinations to get to and from Paros in a day by ferry.

⛴️ You can be almost blown off the deck of a ferry and you spend most of your time sitting inside. No lazing on the deck and sunbaking!

Types of Boats and Itineraries

Need to Know: Even though there are dozens of boat tours around and from Paros, the smallness of the island and the large number of ferries that dock here add up to boat tours being a bit more expensive here than on many other Cyclades like Santorini or Mykonos by about 20-25%.

⛵ Boat tours from and around Paros can be open (public), semi-private, or private with the price increasing as the number of tour guests decreases.

⛵ Catamarans, yachts, schooners, rib boats, and speedboats are all on offer.

⛵ The most popular tours circle Paros and take in the nearby small islands of Antiparos and Despotika, or else head to Santorini or Delos for the day.

⛵ There are many other islands that are options for fantastic boat tours from Paros including Mykonos, Koufonisias, Amorgos, and Sifnos as well as tours of the Small Cyclades islands.

With so many options, we’ve broken down the best quality experience in each main category of boat tour to help you easily choose between the best of what’s on offer.

Things to Know Before Booking a Paros Boat Tour

🌊 wind and distance.

The boat tours that go to islands other than Antiparos and Despotika have many hours at sea and often in very windy conditions. Itineraries change because of the wind.

My advice is to book the same tour for several days in a row then cancel MORE than 24 hours before the tour is scheduled to begin if it’s windy. It’s not much fun spending 9 hours in the wind.

I always pack a windbreaker to make sure I don’t freeze on the way back to port on windy afternoons and evenings.

🤿 Snorkeling and Swimming

Some boat trips stop about 100 meters from the beach, so check the itinerary, look at the photos of the tour, and make sure there are noodles provided if you’ll be floating around in caves and the Blue Pool.

Snorkeling equipment often means a mask only, so again, check what the equipment will be and be prepared to pack your own snorkel.

On the way home, enjoy the sun setting over the Aegean Sea.

The tour leaves and returns from Piso Livadi port (pick up from your hotel is not included). Much of the day is spent sunbathing, socializing, and eating and drinking on board.

Swimming off the boat, Paros Full-Day Cruise, Greece

Bring a snorkel (only masks are provided) to see the wrecked seaplane 7 meters below the water at Amalia Bay.

You’ll also get to see Rina’s Cave, a secluded cove, and swim off  Koufonissia or Schoinousa islands.

There’s a light lunch and snacks that are described by every traveler as ‘delicious,’ and the drinks flow freely throughout the day.

After lunch, it’s onwards to the southern shores of Naxos and more swimming before returning to Piso Livadi at about 6. 30 pm.

Great experience! I went solo and had a blast. They had local wine to share with some snacks. Lunch was great also! Snorkeling was fun and we went back into a cave which was cool too. The water is just so pristine and clear! We even had dolphins swimming along the boat with us. It was an all-day tour but it went by so fast! Loved every minute of it! Jenny_S ( Read more reviews )

⛵ 2. BEST BOAT TOUR AROUND PAROS AND NEARBY ISLANDS – Small Group Full Day Cruise Around Antiparos and Despotiko With Lunch

Semi-Private tour around Paros, Antiparos and Despotika

The Small Group Full Day Cruise Around Antiparos and Despotiko with Lunch is perfect if you’d like to explore all around Paros island and its nearby islands of Antiparos and Despotika.

⭐ 5 /5, 11 Reviews ⏳ 7 hrs Tour

It’s also the right boat tour for you if you’d like a smaller vessel that only takes a maximum of 12 passengers and if you’d love a high-quality Greek mezze meal, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, and biscuits.

Docking in a tiny cove in Antiparos, Greece

This lovely ‘kaiki’ was fully renovated in 2021 and it will take you to unbelievably turquoise waters at Panteronissi, sea caves, coves, and the shores of Despotika island.

Although the tour above is the most popular and most-often booked boat tour from Paros, this is my favorite boat tour because it’s not a wide-open water day.

It’s no wonder this boat tour has only perfect 5 out of 5 review scores!

It sails around beautiful Paros – I love swimming in the Blue Lagoon and stepping on the shores of the uninhabited island of Despotika – all on a boat that only takes a dozen people.

Every last bit of this day was amazing. We’ve been on a number of boat tours in Greece and other countries and this one stands out. Beautiful boat, plenty of room for all the passengers, excellent crew, fantastic food, and all the stops throughout the day were breathtaking. Highly recommend! Shannon_R ( Read more reviews )

boat tours paros greece

If you’ve never been to Santorini before, take this precious opportunity to tour the ancient ruins at the Akrotiri archeological site, sip wine at a winery on the cliffs of Santorini and visit the major towns, including beautiful Oia.

A day exploring Santorini will give you a good idea if you want to return for a longer time on Greece’s most beautiful island paradise.

Long day but well worth it….. the Transport was well organised and our guide was lovely and full of information…. would definitely recommend we even got the sunset on the ferry on the way back Susan_M (Read more reviews)

Not many boat tours involve day trips to Santorini because of the distance and the need to organize a series of seamless boat and bus transfers on two islands. This boat tour manages to do all this and more and gives you an incredible day in Santorini.

⛵ 4. BEST VALUE BOAT TOUR WITH MOST SWIMMING SPOTS – Koufonisia by traditional Kaiki from Paros

Stopping for lunch at an isolated spot at Kato Koufonissi

If you’d love a full-day sailing tour with lots of swimming spots at half the price of the most popular tour, then book the Koufonisia by traditional Kaiki from Paros .

⭐ 4.5 /5, 42 Reviews ⏳ 9.5 hrs Tour

There are lots of fantastic stops on this sailing tour. The first port of call is Naxos Island, at a tiny church on top of a headland built by local fishermen at Agios Sostis.

Then it’s on to the island of Koufonisia and the caves of Glaronisi, an island that is part of the “Small Cyclades” and the coastline of the island where there are stops for swimming and snorkeling.

boat tours paros greece

It’s then time to stop for a freshly cooked BBQ lunch on board (with tea, coffee, sodas, and alcoholic beverages) at the beautiful and secluded Kato Koufonisi. The green waters are calm – sheltered by limestone cliffs and rock formations.

After lunch, the boat turns towards Paros with another stop on Naxos Island where you’ll visit sea caves, beaches, and a chapel on the rocks by the sea.

A brilliant day out, the crew were so friendly and helpful. A really laid back day out with plenty of stops for swimming and some cliff jumping. The kids loved it . Stuart_E ( Read more reviews )

There’s free cancellation within 24 hours, snorkeling equipment is provided and this is a great value boat tour!

⭐ 4.2/5, 170 Reviews ⏳ 10 hr Tour

This day trip gives you about three hours on Delos and then three hours on Mykonos. It uses commercial ferries between the islands.

boat tours paros greece

In Delos, your three hours go quickly, and many people hire private guides when they arrive at the ticket office.

See the terrace of the Lions, the Temple of Isis, the amphitheater, the many spectacular Roman ruins, and the Museum (when it reopens).

In Mykonos , you have what I believe is the perfect amount of time. Start at the Old Harbor and Mykonos town.

See the Church of Panagia   Paraportiani and wander the truly beautiful old town, built in a maze of twisty, tiny alleyways to confuse pirates.

Great value for money. Delos was awesome and they gave you the perfect amount of time for people who enjoy exploring ancient history.  Ali (US) ( Read more reviews )

Walk a few minutes to the wonderful iconic windmills of Mykonos Town before heading down the small hill to Little Venice, where you can drink cocktails overlooking the harbor and the windmills. A perfect half-day in Mykonos!

⛵ 6. BEST SUNSET PRIVATE BOAT TOUR – Private Sunset Cruise to Panteronnisia, Antiparos and Despotiko

Private Sunset Cruise, Glaros wooden boat, Paros, Greece

If you’re looking for a private sunset cruise around Paros with no more than 12 people on the tour, then the Private Sunset Cruise to Panteronnisia, Antiparos and Despotiko is perfect for you.

⏳ Tour Length: 3 hours

Private Sunset Cruise, Glaros wooden boat, Paros, Greece

The Glaros traditional Kaiki boat sets off from Aliki and catches the sunset as it sails around Paros and Anitiparos to the Blue Lagoon and over to Despotika Island.

Explore the Cyclades in the early evening with stops to swim in the turquoise crystal clear waters of Panteronisia, go diving in the “pirate’s cave” of Paros , and swim at lovely Agios Myronas.

There’s no dinner on board, instead, there are some fabulous snacks that include traditional appetizers, pasta with seafood, spinach pie, a variety of salads, as well as wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks.

Went on a wonderful cruise to Panteronisia, my first time to Paros, I was so excited. The scenery was out of this world ! John Yord

For the swimming and snorkeling stops you are provided with a seabed mask, a snorkel, and an underwater camera which makes this boat tour a little unusual!

PANTASOULAS DAILY CRUISES

Ilias Pantasoulas, the founder of the Pantasoulas Daily Cruises, always had an intimate relationship with the sea as he was raised in a fishing family (fourth generation of fishermen). He spent his childhood in his father's fishing boat, getting to know the sea like the palm of his hand. After graduating as an Electronic engineer, he decided to return back to Paros and his beloved sea, and start his own business. Back in 2017, he bought an old fishing boat, and with a lot of work by himself, family members and friends, he turned it into a brand new, fully-equipped, traditional cruise boat.

During summertime Ilias and his sister, Dimitra, are waiting to welcome you onboard. They sail you to crystal clear waters, offering a unique cruising experience, and serving you high-quality homemade seafood, fished with their family fishing boat.

Maybe you want to celebrate a special occasion, like an anniversary, birthday, engagement, or you simply feel the need to be alone with your partner or family in the cruise?

The crown jewel of our services is undoubtedly our private sunset cruise..

boat tours paros greece

We can not recommend this experience enough. Captain Ilias and Dimitra were amazing. Nothing but class, we did the wine and snack sunset cruise. We are happy we left this for the end of the trip, because nothing can compare. Very easy to book, we emailed captain Ilias who responded promptly. We also called him to verify our departure. Best way to enjoy the sunset on paros or any of the islands, in our opinion. 5 stars in every category.

We spent two weeks in Greece and visited three islands and this was by far the best thing that we did! The boat is run by Ilias and his sister Dimitra and it's a true family experience. They cook you an amazing meal on board and the fish is even caught by their brother who is a fisherman then you finish off the trip with homemade dessert from their mother. This experience is exactly what I pictured as far as Greece hospitality not to mention you are sailing around the island to all of these beautiful locations. Do not miss this one while you are in Paros!

For all the people who are planning a boat cruise in Paros I strongly recommend to look not any further. This is the best in Paros. Captain Ilias Pantasoulas brought us to some of the most beautiful private beaches and coves where we had to chance to swim or snorkel and enjoy the Crystal clear Aegean sea , while his amazing sister Dimitra treated us with delicious local snacks and a royal lunch with some of the best Pasta with scampi's I have ever eaten. Besides of that lunch was completed with different fish dishes and salats. Except from juices, soft drinks and Mythos beer we were spoiled with home made white wine from local Paros grapes, brewed by the Pantasoulas family themselves! All by all , we wanted this cruise to continue all day !! Next time we visit Paros this cruise will be repeated.

Just returned from a fabulous day with Ilias, Dimitra and their father on their lovely boat. The day was perfect - right number of people so we all had plenty of space to sit in sun or shade but enough for a fun atmosphere. The boat was very comfortable. 4 lovely stops for swimming and snorkelling, beaches to swim to and a little church to walk up to. Despite it being quite a windy day Ilias found lovely sheltered bays to anchor in and jumping off the boat was great fun. At every stop there was delicious homemade food and drink - plenty to go around. The whole day was relaxing and lots of fun - truly one of the best days and highlights of our trip.

Thanks so much guys for an unforgettable experience x

We had the MOST AMAZING time with Pantasoulas daily cruises! Ilias and Dimitra are the loveliest people and made our experience so wonderful. Seeing Paros by boat afforded us access to hidden, gorgeous, remote, secluded beaches and coves with the BLUEST water you can imagine. We had so much fun snorkeling, swimming, exploring the beaches, and basking in the sunshine with the epic backdrops. Ilias and Dimitra are locals to Paros and truly know all the best places! Plus, the duration of the excursion allowed us enough time to relax without feeling rushed. It was truly the perfect day. The boat itself was gorgeously restored and so comfortable and the food was absolutely incredible. Genuinely, this excursion is worth it for the food alone!!! Everything was so fresh (caught/made/prepared by the family) and absolutely delicious- some of the best Greek food and drink we've ever had in all of Greece. The photos don't do it justice- you need to book this tour! Thank you so much for a perfect, romantic, fun, and exciting day! We loved every minute and can't wait to return someday!

My wife and I had an incredible day on the boat, in fact it was the best day of our holiday/honeymoon! Ilias and his sister (I believe) were the best hosts. So knowledgeable, fantastic food, a generous amount of homemade wine and beers. When we return to Paros, we will 100% be booking for another trip! Thank you

We are two friends who traveled to Paros for a couple of days, as part of our 1-week trip through the Aegean islands. From the start, we had decided that one day we would like to take a boat tour, and based on the good reviews of the Pantasoulas Daily Cruises, we booked this one. We were not disappointed. Ilias and his sister Dimitra offered the type of experience that, I believe, we are all looking for. A laid-back, fun day at the sea, with many opportunities to jump in the sea, swim to small beaches, and even visit a tiny church on a small island. I really appreciated being guided by two locals who know the island like the back of their hand, and who are genuinely happy to share their knowledge with you. And I can only confirm what many others have already said about the food: it was absolutely delicious!! So if you are looking for a day trip out to the sea while you are in Paros, don't think twice, book Pantasoulas Cruises before they are booked out.

We did the daily cruise and it was amazing!! Such a fun day on a private boat (myself and 4 friends) and worth every penny. We were provided with excellent food, lots of wine and snorkeling equipment. The staff were so nice and relaxed. This was by far the best day of our holiday!!! HONESTLY COULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE ENOUGH!!! 10/10

Thank you guys!!!

This daily cruise was AMAZING! Captain Ilias and Dimitra were friendly and attentive during the trip. The food was unreal (especially the greek salad and tzatziki). We stopped at many beautiful spots and had plenty of time to explore the water and land. Highly recommend booking with Pantasoulas if you want to explore Paros from the water.

By FAR, the best sailing excursion I have EVER been on. Captain Ilias and his sister are so nice and go out of their way to make sure your trip is everything you could imagine and then some. Nothing beats the fresh seafood lunch and homemade wine offered throughout your 6 hour trip. You can tell that they put their heart into this excursion. I cannot stop raving about how fresh and delicious the food was! All the swimming spots were beautiful and we loved hearing about what made them each so unique. Do not miss this opportunity!

If you are planning a trip at Naoussa, Paros this is one of the must do activities!! They offer 2 cruises daily, one in daytime and one in the afternoon ( "sunset cruise" ). My wife and I we decided to go on the daytime cruise and we couldn't have better experience. We started from the little scenic port of Naoussa at sailed around the bay visiting few private beaches. It was a full day of fun, swimming, drinking and eating!! The crew is amazing!! Ilias the captain is a knowledgeable young captain and fun to talk and he will share all the tips and stories of the island! Also he is the cook where he cooked up a storm of delicious seafood while we where swimming ing at the crustal blue waters of Paros. His family's homemade wine is something not to be missed... I would definitely recommend this to everyone either you are looking for a family activity or a day spend with friends.

What an amazing experience!! Everyone visiting Paros should do a daily cruise if only to visit the exclusive beaches. The crew was fantastic- very kind and friendly. We visited 4 or 5 different sites that otherwise wouldn't have been possible by car or on foot. In the cruise we also got to enjoy traditional Greek food cooked by the owners' ad hoc (amazing to watch), and taste 2 different Greek wines again from the owners' vineyards. I would 100% recommend it - its an experience that should not missed!

The best experience we had in Paros. Ilias and his sister made us feel at home. Thanks to them we had the opportunity to visit a small corner of paradise in this magical island. The food was superb, and love the fact that this is a family business. Hope to be back soon!

This is a MUST when visiting Paros. Captain Ilias and his sister made us feel right at home as we sailed through various places on the island. I'd recommend booking a private tour as you have more room to move around the boat and feels more special. The food that was made was also AMAZING! We had two vegetarians with us, and Captain Ilias and his sister went above and beyond to accommodate their dietary restrictions. This was absolutely our best day in Paros. We will be back!!! Thank you again!!

We loved so much the sunset private cruise of the Pantasoulas' family in Naoussa on the island of Paros and if we could we would enjoy a cruise with them every day! Everything was perfect from the warm welcome on board of a fully renewed traditional old fishing boat cruising across the magnificent bay of Naoussa, to the excellent dinner with local super fresh ingredients and drinks. The atmosphere on board is magic, quiet and very relaxing. The owners are young and authentic people and their father is a well known fisherman. The delicious seafood we had for dinner was just caught, the wine and the vegetables come from the family's property. I would never say that this is a touristic activity, it's rather a truly beautiful and genuine experience of parian hospitality, culture and tradition that you can't miss when in Paros. Can't wait to be back again. A big thank you to the Pantasoulas ;-)

I mean I think the reviews speak for themselves, but what an incredible day. My Greece trip was so incredible each day, but even amongst all of that, the boat day with Ilias and Demetria stood out as maybe the best.

Ilias and Demetria are just incredible hosts. Two incredibly kind, happy, hard-working people, that make it truly special. The boat is traditional and unique, but still very comfortable. They sail aroudn the north coast of Paros to various crystal clear aqua blue waters you can swim in. The views, water, and general boat experience were fantastic.

Now, for the food. I do not know how they possibly cooked all of that food on that little boat, but wow. When I spoke with them, they talked up Yemeni Wine bar as the best restaurant in Paros. I went to dinner there that evening, and I can honestly say it did not hold a candle to Ilias and Demetria's food. In fact, over my 10-day trip, it was probably a top 3 meal I had in Greece. The food was UNREAL. So fresh, so well prepared, so much food. Wine and beer flowing the entire day. The cost is justified by the food alone, let alone, the drinks, the boat day, etc.

Do yourself a favor, book this trip!

We booked the all-day semi private cruise and had the most incredible day out with Ilias and the crew.

The boat is a historic fishermen's vessel with lots of beautiful details. All amenities on the boat were immaculate (seats, bathroom, snorkelling gears etc). We were taken to four beautifully pristine spots to swim at, all either private or semi private areas that ate only accessible by boat.

To top it all off, the quality of the food served on the boat was above and beyond what we expected on a cruise - all beautifully prepared by Ilias' family. We had plenty of homemade snacks and drinks (local wine and beer) throughout the day, and the lunch was UN-REAL (everybody clapped as it was served to us).

Huge thank you to Ilias and the crew for their amazing hospitality - this was easily the highlight of our 10-day holiday in the Cyclades and we will remember this experience for a very long time!

I have been on several Catamaran Cruises and let me just tell you, this one was by far the best. The Pantasoulas family was so kind and generous and let me not forget the food experience on board was incredible. This is the best way to get to know the islands of Greece during your trip to Paros. If you want an unforgettable experience during your visit, please book a tour with this family, you will not regret it. The pictures will speak for itself.

This was the best day of our holiday! We have done many boat trips over the last few years but this trip is by far the best! Beautiful boat with plenty of space for relaxing, ran by the most lovely and friendliest we family. The food provided is all home cooked and everything was delicious! We stopped off at gorgeous beaches and swam in the most incredible turquoise waters! Highly recommend this trip to everyone and it's worth every penny!

Our second visit to Paros and our second time with Pantasoulas - if anything even better than the first trip! From the moment we stepped on board, everyone felt like family! An extremely comfortable, beautifully restored boat with plenty of space, shade and of course diving points! Delicious home made (and home grown/home caught!) food - lovely snacks and a fabulous seafood lunch. Home made wine, plenty of beer and soft drinks and superb Greek coffee. The beaches visited were beautiful and the water was amazing - so blue and inviting. Noodles, snorkels and fins were provided.. We had the best day and Ilias, Dimitra and their father looked after us so well - nobody wanted to get off the boat at all. Our best day in Greece with the best food without a doubt. We will be back!!

10/10 for Captain Elias, his sister Dimitra and their crew! I booked their private sunset dinner cruise for 26 guests the day after my daughter's wedding. Everything about the evening was perfection! I quite literally can't think of anything they could have done better. The crew was gracious and welcoming... true Greek hospitality,"philotimo" at it's finest. The opportunities to take a swim provided a great deal of fun and contributed to making it a fantastic experience. Then, there was the food! The appetizers, drinks and seafood dinner were all amazing. Combine all that with the beauty of the waters of Paros and you've got a true 5-star experience! I highly recommend Pantasoulas Daily Cruises to anyone visiting Paros! Thank you Captain Elias and Dimitra for the perfect close to my daughter's wedding weekend!

Everything about this tour was perfect, a total highlight of our holiday. Ilias, Dimitria and their family provided a wonderful experience.

We made four stops throughout the day, all of which were incredibly beautiful. Snorkels, goggles and flippers were all provided so we could experience the wildlife.

Refreshments and a delicious home-cooked lunch were very generously provided throughout the day. My partner is gluten intolerant and was served special gluten free versions of the food that were equally fantastic. Our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating.

I would absolutely recommend this to anybody visiting Paros and come back if I were returning- thank you for an incredible day Ilias & Dimitria!

This cruise was an absolute DELIGHT. Ilias & Dimitra have curated the best cruise in Paros and it ended up being our favorite day! It exceeded expectations and was even so much better than our catamaran cruise in Santorini. It is a local family affair run by siblings. Mama Pantasoula made some divine treats for us to eat and the rest of the food made on board was AMAZING. Waters were perfect. Cruise was perfect. Stops were perfect. We swam and snorkeled and it was so much fun. After telling them how amazing everything was, they said it was unfortunate that we couldn't go to one of the best stops due to the wind, but I could not fathom how it could have been any better. Thank you to the entire Pantasoulas family for making our trip so special!

Wow what an amazing day with Pantasoulas. We had the best time on the on the shared day cruise with Captain Ilias and Dimitra. A wonderful family set up - including father, son and daughter as the boat crew who are so friendly, and their mother who cooks a number of the tasty dishes. The lunch is outstanding and cooked freshly on the boat (calamari & shrimp spaghetti are fantastic). The trip included four stops at beautiful and remote locations in north Paros only accessible by boat. They also catered to my husband's shellfish allergy with great care. Highly recommend!

We did the semi-private day cruise & it was the best boat tour of all the boat tours we did in Greece! Elias & Dimitra were extremely helpful, kind, and a delight to get to know. They brought us to the best snorkelling locations with crystal-clear waters! The lunch was absolutely phenomenal & definitely one of our favourite meals in Paros. The other passengers were fantastic as well - 10/10 would recommend Pantasolous Daily Cruises!

Most wonderful experience ... if you're in Paros, you have to book this boat trip.. the boat, tour, views, food ... and especially the very lovely and attentive service on board (Dimitra and Ilias were the perfect hosts). They make you love the sea, even when windy. Very highly recommended. If we come back to Paros, we'll book this tour again and again,

We absolutely enjoyed our cruise. We did some swimming, snorkelling, drinking and eating amazing freshly caught and home cooked seafood. Seriously, the food was SO good. Pantasoulas cruises is very much a family business and you can see this through the care they put into making the whole experience so wonderful. We highly recommend!

This is a must do if you're looking to rent a boat out of Paros/Naousa for a day. Ilias & Dimitra were incredible hosts on board. They are both super friendly and very knowledgable. They took us to all these amazing spots around Paros to swim, snorkel, and just have fun (equipment included). The homemade food they provided was incredible and the drinks kept following. Easily a highlight of our Greece trip

This family owned and run trip was one of the best experiences in our trip to the Greek Islands. Ilias and his sister Dimitra are genuine hosts and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone on board is comfortable. My girlfriend and I enjoyed all the beautiful stops across the island. The homemade baked treats, lunch, and desserts were above our expectations. We would definitely visit Paros alone just for this tour!

This is by far the best cruise I have experienced in Greece. The care and kindness that the Pantasoulas family shows every single guest makes this an unforgettable experience. Dimitra and Ilias are amazing, truly love what they do, and enjoy sharing their Paros culture with everyone onboard. The food is second to none, no one better. Every single item they serve is delicious. The tour of around paros to the various places to jump off the boat was a true delight. Thank you for making our vacation one we will never forget!!! If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would! Ευχάριστο!

The most delicious meal you’ll have on the island.

“one of the best meals we had in greece” , says stevan., “…the food was absolutely delicious: the best meal we had during our week in greece. ”, jennie., tripadvisor travellers praise michael zeppos food experience but, why.

We’ re Greeks! We love cooking, eating, feeding our guests , drinking wine, clinking the glass and shouting “yiá mas” (=cheers) every 3-5 minutes.

And we’ re Parians! So… no frozen food on our watch! You’ re about to taste the real deal , the Parian gastronomy!

Fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables and fruits, regional mezédes, sweets, salads and main courses that you can’t find anywhere else!

All ingredients comes from the sea or our garden.  Captain’s mother, Stavroula, prepare part of the menu with her secret family recipes and the rest is being prepared by us, in front of you.

Just imagine the smell of the fresh fried onion tickling your nose while swimming in the Aegean!

Wine is local & organic, from Moraitis winery.

Why choose a traditional wooden boat trip instead of other options?

Would you book a gondola in Venice or choose another water transport? The kaíki (wooden boat) is the gondola of the greek islands. The moment you hop into it you’ re becoming a part of it’s story. It’s not about speed or power. It’s about connecting with nature. You’re gonna love it!

Why do you depart from Aliki and not from Naoussa or Parikia?

We’ve tested a lot of itineraries over the past 11 years and we found that departing from Aliki gives you a precious extra time to spend in the actual cruise stops. Less time travelling at the open sea. More time swimming and sightseeing. It’s also the best way to avoid local winds during our way back so you don’t get sick.

Is this activity suitable for kids?

Kids love Michael Zeppos boat trips! They feel free, connected to nature, adventurous! The boat is safe for kids and the food is 100% organic and homemade. While the activity is safe even for newborns (if baby’s exposure in the sun is allowed), we’d advise you to book the Private Sunset Dinner Cruise if you are travelling with kids up to 3 years. Because 7 hours of sun and sea can easily overwhelm or sunstroke your little ones, even if there are at the shadow or under the tent. If that’s your case, you may want to check out our Private Sunset Dinner Cruise, by clicking here.

What should I bring with me in the boat?

We’ll provide you with everything you’ll need, but your personal items. This is a 7 hours sea sun activity so be sure you carry your hat and sunblock (Very very important if you don’t want to turn purple!)!

You may also want to bring: swimming flippers, your book/kindle, an action camera or a drone (!), medicines, or other  personal and hygiene products.

Important! Please, bring your positive energy, your locura and that vacation feeling that only travellers have!

Can I bring my own drinks or food and have a discount?

We’re committed to give you the best day of your vacation plus the best meal that you’ll have on Paros (and maybe Greece). So no discount is possible for such an offering. If you have specific diet instructions or allegies, please inform us 2 days before the cruise to change the menu.

Last year I took a competitive cruise that also claimed to be “semi private” and we were packed like sardines. Is this your vision of “semi private cruise”?

Noooooo!!! We are crystal clear about what “semi private cruise” means: Υou’ re sharing the boat with other travellers, and still have your seat on the table, the shade, the couch and private space! You won’t have to sit on the floor because of an overbooking! You won’t have to fight to catch food! Or even small talk if you don’t want to. Paréa is a shared tour, but still luxurious and comfortable.

I’ve found a competitive cruise way cheaper than yours. Why is that and why to choose yours?

Have you heard that “You get what you pay for”? Don’t you think this is absolutely true in all economic transactions you ever had? And, of course, completely understandable due to the cost of products and services? Having the best ingredients for you and your friends to consume, keeping groups small and tight so that everyone feels comfortable and safe every moment and providing a deluxe travelling experience is a choice (and cost more).

I’m not a huge sea fan / I’m not a great swimmer. Should I stay at the hotel?

Of course not! Michael Zeppos boat is large and comfortable, with a cozy couch and an awning for fresh shade. So, if you’re not a huge sea fan, you can still have fun with many ways! Bring your kindle and sunblock. Pillows and wine provided!

If you hesitate to swim because you don’t trust your swimming skills, we’ve got your back! With a life vest and the floating equipment provided, you’re gonna feel safe and have fun like everyone else (if you want to, of course)!

“ The best day trip!

I can’t begin to say how perfect and special this day was, a must do if you are going to paros island.”.

The Best Tours & Things to Do in Paros

Greece › Paros › Things to Do Updated: July 13, 2022 By Santorini Dave

  • Where to Stay in Paros
  • Best Beaches in Paros

The 2 Best Tours in Paros

Best boat tours in Paros, Greece.

The Full Day Sailing Cruise in the Small Cyclades sails to the uninhabited island of Despotiko and other small islands near Paros.

The 19 Best Things to Do in Paros

1. paros park.

An 800-acre park at the northwestern tip of the island, Paros Park offers a taste of everything: three hiking trails, a stunning rocky landscape, lively and secluded beaches, a picturesque lighthouse, an all-day café, a historic monastery (now a cartography museum), an ancient amphitheater (now hosting festivals and events), and an open-air cinema (free admission, movies start at 9:00 p.m.) The main beach, Monastiri, has sunbeds and umbrellas for rent during the summer, and there is a lifeguard during July and August. The park is free to enter and open 24-hours a day all year long. Paros Park can be reached by car, the water taxi from Naoussa port, or by bus (about a 30-minute walk from the Kolymbithres Beach bus stop).

2. Kolymbithres Beach

Paros’ best-known natural wonder is Kolymbithres Beach with its moon-like granite rock formations sculpted over millennia by the wind and sea. Set in a southeast-facing bay, Kolymbithres is naturally divided into two main beaches, each with casual beach clubs offering sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. The rocks further break up these beaches into even smaller sections, so if you’re lucky to get there before the crowds, you can claim your own tiny private beach. At the south end of the beach, there is a sailing center offering windsurfing and small sailboat rentals and lessons; farther north there are kayaks and SUPs for rent. Kolymbithres Beach can be reached by car, bus, or by a fun water taxi ride from Naoussa’s Old Port.

3. The Church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani

Dating to the 4th century A.D. the Church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani, aka the Church of 100 Doors, is among the most important churches in Greece. The original chapel is believed to have been founded by St. Helene and after her death built into a larger church and monastery by her son, Emperor Constantine. A dome was added in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian. The complex has been well-kept over the centuries and showcases art and architecture from the Paleochristian, Byzantine, and post-Byzantine eras, with many of its construction materials sourced from the marble ruins of even older temples. According to legend, the church has 99 visible doors, and a 100th door will appear when the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul becomes Orthodox again. In reality, the church has nowhere near 99 doors. The small Byzantine Museum of Paros is located inside the complex, with rare icons, relics, and ecclesiastical items, mostly dating to the 17th and 18th centuries. Panagia Ekatontapiliani is located in Parikia, about a 3-minute walk southeast of the ferry port and about a 5-minute walk from the Parikia bus stop.
The village Naoussa blends Cycladic tradition with worldly sophistication in a compact, walkable space dotted with beaches in a natural bay. Fishing boats bob in the sea next to a half-sunken Venetian castle in its charming Old Port. Inside the village, a warren of cobblestone lanes brims with top tier restaurants, stylish cocktail bars, all-night dance clubs, luxury boutiques, a winery, and picturesque, domed churches. Three sunny, swimmable beaches (Piperaki, Piperi, and Agii Anargyrii) sit on either side of the port. Being a popular vacation spot for Athenians, Naoussa has managed to hang strong to its Greek identity, despite its glamorous, international reputation. Naoussa sits on the north side of the island, about 9 km from the ferry port in Parikia (under 20-minutes by bus) and about 20 km from the airport.
Parikia is the capital and largest village on Paros. Most travelers to the island will arrive and depart from the ferry port here. As the main harbor and commercial hub over the centuries, Parikia has the majority of Paros’ most important landmarks, including Panagia Ekatontapiliani, the Frankish Castle ruins, and the Archaeological Museum, plus amazing restaurants, craft workshops, boutiques, and lively bars, many with sunset views over the sea. As in Naoussa, Parikia’s port is flanked with beaches on either side, Livadia and Marcello circling around north to the north, a small, nameless beach to the west, and Delfini and Parasporos Beaches at the westernmost outskirts. Architecture is a mix of tidy, whitewashed Cycladic homes and centuries-old neoclassical mansions, a style favored by descendants of the Venetians who once ran the island. Parikia is located in a gorgeous bay on the northwest coast of the island, about 9 km from Naoussa (a less-than-20-minute bus ride) and about 10 km from the airport.

6. Kalogeros Beach

Kalogeros, the Mud Beach, is a quiet beach set in a small cove beneath towering rocks on Paros’ east coast. Its sand and pebble shore and crystal blue water are similar to many other beaches here, but what sets Kalogeros apart is the cliffs on its eastern edge. The grey cliffs are made of a special clay with softening and exfoliating properties. Break off a handful, mix with seawater to make mud, slather it on, and let it dry. Jump in the sea to rinse off for super smooth skin. Kalogeros is an unorganized beach with no restaurants or sunbed rentals, so bring your own snacks and gear. Molos Beach is just a 5-minute walk north for a sandier, more traditional beach excursion. Plan on driving here or taking the #1 or #5 bus to Marmara, Marpissa, or Piso Livadi and walk 30 minutes to the beach.

7. Day Trip to Naxos

The largest Cycladic island, Naxos, is only a 40-minute ferry away and offers a rustic contrast to Paros’ cosmopolitan vibe. There is no shortage of great things to do in Naxos . The island is filled with farms, dairies, olive groves, ancient ruins, and marble quarries. Traditional villages are scattered through its mountainous interior, many connected by hiking trails that pass by some of the island’s over 200 Byzantine churches. Its coastline is wrapped in dreamy, sandy beaches lined with fresh seafood tavernas. The main village, Naxos Town, is built like a maze at the base of a 13th-century Venetian castle with boutiques, bars, and tavernas spreading down the hill. The ruins of an ancient temple devoted to Apollo sit on a small islet accessible by a raised footpath over the sea. Take in stunning sunset sea views over the marina and temple from one of the many rooftop or balcony restaurants or bars perched above the charming port.

8. Naoussa Old Port

Naoussa’s Old Port is the village’s main attraction. The port sits in a gorgeous natural bay with fishing boats docked in the marinas and a wide esplanade lined with open-air restaurants and cafes. At the easternmost tip of the port is its most recognizable landmark, the partially submerged Venetian castle ruins. Built as a fortress in the 14th century with two watchtowers added in the 15th century, the castle’s sea walls are completely underwater now and only one of the towers still stands. From the Old Port, there is a water taxi that runs 3 routes: to Kolymbithres Beach, to Paros Park/Monastiri Beach, and the Laggeri Beach. Water taxis run about every hour from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the summer.
The postcard-perfect Lefkes is the highest elevated mountain village in the most fertile part of Paros. Located near the center of the island, many points in the village offer panoramic views over the land, sea, and the nearby island of Naxos. As the ancient agricultural hub of the island, the village boasts a well-preserved stone pathway, the Byzantine Road, dating to 1000 A.D. that connects it to Prodromos village (3.5 km away) before heading to the busy port of Piso Livadi (another 3 km). This popular hike takes about 90-minutes one way to the sea or about 2 hours to hike to Prodromos and back. During the Middle Ages, Lefkes was the island’s capital and richest village, and echoes of its past can be seen in its architecture, with Venetian, neoclassical, and Cycladic buildings coexisting, much of it dating from the 15th through the 17th centuries. Towering over the village is Lefkes’ landmark and most popular sight, the Church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), built in 1830. Lefkes can be reached by bus, either by taking the #1 from Parikia or (if you’re a champ) by taking the #5 from Naoussa to Prodromos and hiking the 3.5 km up. Lefkes is easiest to reach by car.

10. Moraitis Winery

Family-owned and operated for over 100 years, Moraitis is the leading winemaker in Paros, with more than 100 acres of vineyards spread throughout the island. The renovated winery sits on top of the original 1910 cellar, where barrels are still aged. Varieties include Assyrtiko, Mandilaria, Monemvasia, and rare grape strains indigenous to Paros. The winery is open 6 days a week for tastings and self-guided tours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Moraitis is located in Naoussa, about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop and 5-minutes from Agii Anargyrii Beach.

11. Windsurfing and Kitesurfing

Like most islands in the Cyclades, Paros catches the strong meltemi winds coming from the north, but its proximity to Naxos island boosts these winds, making this one of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spots in the world. The best windsurfing beaches are on Paros’ southeast coast, especially Chrissi Akti (Golden Beach) and Nea Chrissi Akti (New Golden Beach, pictured above). Both of these sandy beaches have water sports centers with equipment rentals and lessons, plus dive centers, beach clubs, and wonderful tavernas. Nea Chrissi Akti is the location for the annual Professional Windsurfing World Cup in August, so reserve ahead for travel during this time.

12. Day Trip to Antiparos

Easily accessible from Paros with or without a car, Antiparos Island makes for a perfect little day trip. Antiparos offers a relaxed atmosphere in its traditional villages, charming marinas filled with fishing boats, idyllic beaches, and authentic Greek tavernas. Ferries from Paros arrive at the harbor of the main village, Antiparos Town, with its whitewashed, blocky houses and bougainvillea-lined pathways. Only steps from the port are the ruins of a 15th-century Venetian castle, built to defend the island from pirates (very little of the castle remains intact). From the port or castle, visitors are between 5 and 15-minutes’ walk of 5 beaches wonderful beaches (1 with a beach club, 3 with nearby tavernas, and 1 secluded nude beach with no amenities). But the best beaches are farther south at Soros (on the way, check out the Cave of Antiparos with stalagmites and stalactites) and Saint George, with sunset views. Heading in or out of the port, grab a meal at To Stathero , the best seafood restaurant on the island. There are 2 ferry options from Paros to Antiparos: One is a shorter (10-minute) ride on a car/passenger ferry that departs from the small port of Pounta, located on Paros’ west coast and accessible from Parikia by bus. The second is a slightly longer boat ride on the passenger-only ferry from Parikia, which runs less frequently – often departing just after a ferry arrives – but from the more popular and easily-accessed port town.

13. Santa Maria Beach

Paros’ most famous beaches are prided for their striking landscape and unusual features, but Santa Maria Beach is the all-around best for its simplicity: a long, wide stretch of soft, golden-white sand, fantastic swimming in calm, clear, aquamarine water, and views of Naxos island to the east. Swimming, snorkeling, diving, and windsurfing are available here, along with low-key beach clubs and delicious tavernas. Most amenities are along the north end of the beach, while the south end tends to be quieter. On windy days, head to nearby Mikri Santa Maria Beach (Little Santa Maria) about 1.5 km north in a protected cove facing south and sheltered from the breeze. Mikri Santa Maria has a dive center, a beach club with sunbed and umbrella rentals, and two lovely tavernas nearby.

14. Fishing Villages

For a glimpse of local life, relaxed beaches, and outstanding seafood, visit one of the island’s fishing villages. The most charming are Aliki and Piso Livadi. Aliki is the largest of the fishing villages with 3 small beaches (Aliki Beach in the center behind the marina, Piso Aliki outside the marina to the east, and Agios Nikolaos in the bay to the west). Aliki is popular with families and boasts a playground, a little windsurfing, and the tiny Museum of Cycladic Folklore, featuring handmade replicas of traditional boats. Piso Livadi, pictured above, is a historic port town with a bustling marina filled with fishing boats, small ferries, and pleasure boats for day cruises. There is a strip of amazing restaurants and bars on the marina next to the main Piso Livadi Beach; every restaurant is great here, all owned by the local fishermen. South of the marina are two more beaches, chilled-out Logaras Beach and trendy Punda Beach.

15. Archaeological Museum of Paros

Excellent museum with indoor and outdoor exhibits of artifacts, statues, and sarcophagi found on the island. Originally founded to house the findings from the nearby Church of Panagia Ekatontapiliai, the now-expanded museum is filled with antiquities from as far back as the Neolithic era and including Mycenaean, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine art. The most important works here include the 6th-century B.C. marble Gorgon statue, the 5th-century B.C. colossal marble statue of Artemis, and the oldest Greek statue of a seated figure, dating to the 8th century B.C. The museum is open year-round every day (except Tuesdays) from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Admission is only €2.

16. Nightlife in Paros

Paros offers excellent nightlife for all occasions whether you’re looking for romantic sunsets, all-night dancing, or trendy cocktails. The vast majority of the island’s bars and clubs are in Parikia and Naoussa, though there are a handful of beach parties and casual bars open late in the fishing villages. Naoussa is the main nightlife hub with sophisticated cocktail bars overlooking the waterfront and Old Port and lively dance clubs and after-party spots in the heart of the village. The best bars in Naoussa include Fotis All Day Bar , Kosmos , and Sommaripa Consolato . Parikia offers a more casual nightlife scene than Naoussa, with a string of rooftop bars offering direct sunset sea views and small bars inside the village with live bands. The best bars in Parikia include Bebop (where the above photo was taken from), Pirate Bar , and Sativa Music Bar .

17. Dining in Paros

Paros has no shortage of restaurants serving fresh-caught seafood, hearty Greek comfort foods, and contemporary haute cuisine. Some local delicacies include gouna (sun-dried mackerel), mizithra (white goat cheese), and kakavia (fish and veggie soup). A handful of vineyards produce red and white wines, while the local spirit is souma, a grape-based distillate. The best restaurants in Paros include Taverna Glafkos and Yemeni in Naoussa and Stou Fred and Ela in Parikia.

18. Frankish Castle

Tucked away in the winding, narrow lanes of Parikia are the remains of the Frankish Castle, a fort built by the ruling Venetians in the Byzantine era. Not much remains of the castle, just a tower and a couple of walls, but its unusual construction makes it worth a visit. The 13th-century A.D. castle was built from the marble ruins of a 6th-century B.C. temple of Athena and a mishmash of materials scavenged from ancient residences and sanctuaries.

19. Butterflies Valley

A visit to Butterflies Valley makes a nice little detour on the way to or from the Antiparos ferry. Despite the name, there are no butterflies here. This green oasis is home to the Jersey Tiger Moth, a daytime moth that appears on the island beginning in June and disappears in August. These small moths have black and white striped forewings and brilliant orange back wings. Outside of the moth season, the park offers a pleasant, shady escape from the heat of the day. The park is open from June through September from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with an entry fee of €2.50. Located about 5.5 km from Parikia and 4.5 km from the Pounta port.

Boat tour to Koufonisia island

General description.

Take this boat tour and spend a day exploring the wonderful island of Koufonisia , a tiny place in the centre of Cyclades. We depart from the port of Piso Livadi in Paros at 10:00 am and arrive in Koufonisia at 11:15 am . There, you can have all day at your disposal to swim in the crystal beaches around the island, try local dishes and relax under the hot sun.

Beaches in Koufonisia are countless and all have exceptionally clean water. Right next to the small port, there is a sandy beach to swim, lined up with fish taverns to have a delicious meal at noon. In a short walk from the port and the village, there are other, more secluded beaches. Note that some beaches in Koufonisia, like Pori and Finikas, are frequented by naturists.

The return trip is in the evening. The boat departs from Koufonisia at 17:15 pm and arrive in Piso Livadi port in Paros at 18:30 pm , after having spent an enjoyable day in the sea and sun.

8 Reasons Why September Is The Best Time To Visit Paros, Greece

Paros, Greece is located in the central Aegean Sea and is popular with couples, families, and big adventurers. Paros is a Greek island that is appealing to tourists for many different reasons. It is well known for its traditional features as well as its modern additions. Visitors of Paros can enjoy various experiences throughout the year, but it is important to highlight the most ideal time to travel there.

There are, of course, distinct destinations throughout Greece since it is not a monolith. Paros has its own ideal tourism time which falls during the shoulder season month of September. Travelers will notice several benefits to planning their visit to this lesser -known paradise during this month. Here are some of the top reasons why September can be considered the best time to visit Paros.

The weather in Paros during September is idyllic. This island has a Mediterranean climate and experiences hot dry summers and winters with mild weather conditions. September is the perfect time to plan a visit because travelers will be able to enjoy the weather. Although the temperatures are not as high as in July or August, visitors can still enjoy sunbathing in September. The beach is also considered more enjoyable due to the slightly lower temperature.

Travel Tip : Since Paros is less hot in September, it is recommended that visitors plan more active trips during this month.

Lounging At The Beaches

One of the main reasons that people visit Paros is its stunning beaches. Visitors can sunbathe, swim, or indulge in a beach bar at their preferred seaside paradise. The island has plenty of beaches to choose from. Some of the most popular choices are Kolymbithres, Santa Maria, and Golden Beach. These beaches have powdery sands, clear waters, and calm waves. Kolymbithres is a beach that is more centrally located, so visitors have easier access to local eateries on the main road.

Travel Tip : It’s best to pack cool, light clothing. Consider carrying a long-sleeve shirt in the evenings in case it gets chilly.

Charming Towns

There are many towns in Paros that visitors may find to be worth their while. Each town has its distinct vibe and ambiance which cater to varying preferences. A few towns not to be missed include Naoussa, Aliki, Antiparos, and Lefkes. Lefkes and Antiparos are the more rural and hidden away towns. To avoid potential crowds, it would be wise to spend time in one or both of these towns. On the other hand, Aliki and Naoussa are more peaceful destinations with modern fixtures. Aliki is a coastal village that is great for relaxation while Naoussa has a vibrant nightlife and plenty of dining options.

Travel Tip : Find serenity and adventure during a Paros stay by carefully choosing the towns that will offer the ideal vibe and experience.

Paros has a variety of hiking options available to visitors. It has mountainous terrain and there are also coastal routes, so a hike on this island is a very scenic experience. Choose between shorter or longer hikes, with shorter options typically taking about 30 minutes. One of the most famous hikes for visitors of Paros is the Byzantine Trail hike from Lefkes down to Prodromos. This is a 3.1-mile trail hike that is not considered to be too difficult for the average hiker.

Travel Tip : Bring plenty of water and wear comfortable hiking boots since trails can be rocky and there is not much available on the trail.

Explore Local Vineyards

Those who enjoy wine tastings should visit some boutique wineries and vineyards in Paros. The Moraitis Winery and Louridis Winery are two of the most popular spots. Visitors can take tours of these options to learn about the regional varieties and local history while tasting local wine. Paros is home to Monemvasia but there are also other traditional grapes there. People will find that Assyrtiko and Malagousia are also common finds at the vineyards in Paros.

Travel Tip : Many of the vineyards and wineries in Paros have deep family history so people who take tours will likely get an intimate encounter and ample insight into the industry.

Try Authentic Greek Food

September is one of the best times of the year in Paros to comfortably enjoy a meal outdoors. It is also not as crowded as it is in late July and August, so that will help guests have more pleasant experiences. The island offers Greek cuisine and seafood mostly but visitors can also enjoy other types of food. People can also find Asian, Italian, and fusion food options there. Giannoulis, Mario by the Sea, and Sigi Ikthios are some of the tastiest restaurants in Paros.

Travel Tip : Dining on fresh seafood while in Paros is a must. Fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables are a part of a healthy meal in Paros and meals tend to be lighter there.

The Calm Atmosphere

Overall, Paros is a pretty serene destination. It does not compare to more lively and nightlife-focused places like Corfu and Mykonos. The natural landscapes and laid-back communities of Paros make it a tranquil getaway that is best appreciated during September. Visitors can practice slow tourism and explore ancient ruins, historic churches, and more during their visit. The island is cozy and considered to be one of the most beautiful Greek islands by some.

Travel Tip : In September, the crowds are fewer but the weather is still pleasant. This mixture can help visitors of Paros who want to go on a spiritual journey or at least experience peace while abroad.

Aquatic Activities

Since the weather is still very pleasant during September, enjoying aquatic activities is one of many ways to spend your days. Paros is a great place for water sports but September is less crowded and have more mild weather. Some of the most popular activities are kayaking, snorkeling, diving, kitesurfing, and windsurfing. Alternatively, book a boat tour to get out on the water even if water sports aren’t preferred.

Travel Tip : Monastiri Beach in northern Paros is a good option to enjoy water sports and also be in a slightly secluded area.

Travelers who are looking into a visit to Paros during September will find plenty to do. While the weather and fewer crowds are a big appeal and the reason that the month is the best time to visit, there is much more to discover. Some visitors might even find that the shoulder season becomes their favorite vacation time after kicking back in Paros.
