2024 Tour Championship TV schedule, live stream, channel, where to watch FedEx Cup Playoffs coverage

The final event of the 2024 pga tour season takes place this week at a newly restored east lake golf club.

GOLF: AUG 23 PGA - TOUR Championship

For the third straight season, Scottie Scheffler heads into the Tour Championship with an inside track to win the FedEx Cup crown. Beginning the week at 10 under and in possession of a two-stroke lead, the world No. 1 looks to accomplish a first after coming away unsuccessful the prior two tries.

With a newly restored East Lake Golf Club and a hungry chasing pack nipping at his heels, the season-long race will not be handed to Scheffler. Xander Schauffele enters the Tour Championship as his nearest pursuer at 8 under with a wealth of experience around this golf course. Whether that translates onto the newest version of East Lake remains to be seen, but the two-time major champion is sure to factor in some shape or form.

St. Jude Championship winner Hideki Matsuyama and BMW Championship winner Keegan Bradley round out those within four of the lead, while Ludvig Åberg seeks to capture the FedEx Cup in his maiden trip to East Lake from five behind. Heavy hitters such as Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark start the tournament on the outskirts of contention a half dozen off the pace.

Meanwhile, former FedEx Cup champions Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Billy Horschel have ground to make up if they are to add a second cup to their mantles. Veterans such as Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood and Tony Finau still have life but will require massive efforts to track down the world No. 1. Check out the full slate of Tour Championship tee times in Round 1 .

2024 Tour Championship odds, predictions: Best bets to make for the Tour Championship at East Lake

The field has been cut to 30 for the final event of the 2024 PGA Tour season. Heading to a newly revamped East Lake Golf Club, players vie for the season-long crown at a long-time PGA Tour stop. While big names like Max Homa, Will Zalatoris and Cameron Young are no longer teeing it up, the stars are still shining bright.

For the third straight season, Scottie Scheffler enters the Tour Championship in pole position at 10 under and in possession of a two-stroke lead. Unable to convert this margin into victories in 2022 when he was passed by Rory McIlroy and 2023 when Viktor Hovland claimed the title, the world No. 1 looks to grab his first FedEx Cup crown.

His nearest competitor is the same man who has been nipping at his heels, Xander Schauffele. The world No. 2 needed a win at the BMW Championship to pass Scheffler ahead of East Lake but was unable to mount a final-round charge in Colorado. Instead, he starts at 8 under and one ahead of Hideki Matsuyama, who had to pull out from last week's tournament with a back injury.

Keegan Bradley jumped from No. 50 in the FedEx Cup to No. 4 with his win at Castle Pines. He starts at 6 under and only four off the pace while Ludvig Åberg — winless this season — rounds out the top five at 5 under thanks to a consistent sophomore season. Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Rory McIlroy are among those at 4 under and in need of a massive performance to win the FedEx Cup.

2024 Tour Championship odds leaders (to win FedEx Cup)

  • Scottie Scheffler: +100
  • Xander Schauffele: +240
  • Hideki Matsuyama: +1200
  • Rory McIlroy: +1600
  • Ludvig Åberg: +2000
  • Collin Morikawa: +2500

2024 Tour Championship odds leaders (without staggered start)

  • Scottie Scheffler: +450
  • Xander Schauffele: +500
  • Rory McIlroy: +1200
  • Collin Morikawa: +1600
  • Hideki Matsuyama: +1600
  • Ludvig Aberg: +1600
  • Viktor Hovland: +1800
  • Patrick Cantlay: +2000
  • Sam Burns: +2000

Tour Championship has same venue. East Lake feels like a brand new course

The Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) — The Tour Championship returns to East Lake for the 24th time. Xander Schauffele is not alone in feeling as though he is on a brand new course.

East Lake went through an extensive renovation by architect Andrew Green, who most notably refurbished Oak Hill for the PGA Championship last year, and the changes are stark.

“This is not the same golf course,” Scottie Scheffler said while playing the front nine when he arrived Monday.

Schauffele was more direct, and perhaps the most skeptical. No one has played East Lake better over the last decade . He has never been over par in seven years, with a scoring average just under 67,

“It’s got the same name — it’s East Lake Golf Club. It’s in the same property, similar square footage. But that’s about it,” Schauffele said Tuesday.

Green’s work was completed in a year, and Schauffele wondered if the Tour Championship might move elsewhere to give the sod a chance to grow, particularly the greens.

Green used 1949 aerials of East Lake in restoring the course that dates to 1904. Every tee, fairway, green and bunker was rebuilt. The bunkers around the 18th green are deep. The bunker left of the peninsula green on the par-3 15th has been removed. The eighth hole has been shortened. The 14th hole has been lengthen and now plays as a par 5. It’s a lot.

“The bunkers are new, the grasses are new in the fairways, the greens are new, the grass on the greens are new, the runouts are different, the slopes are different. I think the only thing that’s the same are the directions of the hole,” Schauffele said.

“Whatever record I had is the past. I have no memory or anything really on any hole to go off of, not even a tree I could aim at that I used to aim at. It’s just that different.”

And so much is at stake. The Tour Championship is for the leading 30 players in the FedEx Cup, with the winner getting $25 million.

Schauffele has had the low score twice and matched the low score once, and he only has one trophy to show for it. That was in 2017, when he won the Tour Championship and Justin Thomas won the FedEx Cup from having more points.

Schauffele was asked if any part of him would have thrown himself in front of the bulldozer.

“One hundred percent, yeah,” he said. “My caddie, as well. He probably would have gone first.”

The format has changed to have a staggered start — Scheffler as the No. 1 seed will be 10-under par, two ahead of Schauffele when the FedEx Cup finale starts Thursday. Schauffele had the low score by three shots in 2020 ( Dustin Johnson was the top seed and won ) and he tied top-seeded Viktor Hovland last year.

That was tough to take. Losing the same course where he had so much success? That requires a little more time.

“It’s just a new golf course,” Schauffele said. “Kind of a glass half-full guy, so I’ve played a lot of new courses this year that I’ve done okay at. And this is a brand new property.”

There might be some brand new strategies.

Scheffler and Schauffele were among those who contemplated hitting drives left of the par-5 18th onto the 10th fairway. The angle is better to the green, and the reshaped 18th fairway is severe enough that it’s canters to the right and creates problems.

“It seems like a safer play to take all that out of play, hit it down 10,” he said. “The green is going to be pretty extraordinarily hard to hold anyways with it being a downslope and having a long club in there. It’s more you’re playing for birdies. There is less opportunity I think for eagle than there was before.”

The greens are firm enough that tour officials do not plan to use a back tee on the par-3 15th, played entirely over water with a longer club, because the green will be too hard to hold.

But they’re all playing the same course for a lot of money. And no one is entirely sure how it will play out until the scores count on Thursday.

“As soon as I walked on the property, I was kind of shocked,” Hovland said. “It looks nothing like it used to. Seems like he’s basically changed every single hole out there. It was just kind of wild how much you can actually change the holes with not really moving holes around. It’s all kind of in the same place, but yet none of the holes look exactly the same.

“I could probably try to describe a person that’s never been here before what it used to look like, and it’s almost like you can’t imagine it,” he said. “It’ll be interesting to kind of get used to it, that’s for sure.”

NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Original Oasis member ‘confirmed’ to return for 2025 reunion tour

Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher

Oasis has confirmed their long-awaited reunion , with original guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs set to join Liam and Noel Gallagher on stage.

The iconic British rock band, which dramatically split in 2009, is officially getting back together for a highly-anticipated series of comeback shows.

Paul Arthurs, affectionately known as Bonehead, was an integral part of Oasis during their early years, contributing to their hit debut album Definitely Maybe and the follow-up (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?.

Although Bonehead left the band in 1999, he has maintained close ties with Liam, most recently performing with him on the Definitely Maybe anniversary solo tour this past summer .

A source close to the band revealed that Bonehead’s involvement was crucial to the reunion, stating: ‘Bonehead is confirmed. They both wanted him in the fold, and he was one of the drivers of the reunion. Noel has brought in some of his band too. The Oasis family has really come back together. Bonehead is ecstatic.’

Oasis has announced 14 UK and Ireland dates for their reunion tour, marking their first performances together in 15 years.

Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs

The tour is expected to be one of the most significant music events of the decade, with tickets predicted to sell out within minutes when they go on sale on August 31.

Cities like Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, London, and Dublin are already confirmed stops, and additional dates are likely to be added due to overwhelming demand.

The band’s statement, released on August 27, was characteristically dramatic: ‘The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.’

Speculation about an Oasis reunion has been circulating for years, but it reached a fever pitch in recent weeks.

Liam Gallagher (left) and Noel Gallagher

During his performance at the Reading Festival on August 25th, Liam Gallagher dedicated the song Half The World Away to his brother Noel, sparking hope among fans.

Towards the end of his set, a mysterious date – 27.08.24 – flashed on a screen behind him, which also appeared on both Liam and Noel’s social media accounts, adding to the intrigue.

Earlier in the day, Liam has dropped another vague online hint, posting on X: ‘I never did like that word FORMER.’

These teasers lead to the official announcement on August 27, confirming what fans had been hoping for for years.

Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher

Oasis’s split in 2009 was as dramatic as their rise to fame.

The breakup was triggered by a heated argument between the Gallagher brothers, with Noel famously stating: ‘I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.’

Since the split, both brothers have pursued successful solo careers, but the shadow of Oasis has always loomed large.

While the upcoming tour is already set to be a landmark event, there is speculation that it could lead to new music from Oasis.

With Bonehead and members of Noel’s band, High Flying Birds, joining the lineup, the potential for new creative collaborations is high.

For now, fans can look forward to what promises to be an unforgettable series of concerts.

The 20 Best and Most Amazing Ziplines in the USA

  • Post author: Katherine Mines

The United States is vast and full of mountain ranges. However, on most of these mountains, there is no snow for several months out of the year which raises the question of “what exactly do you do on a mountain with no snow?”

The answer is ziplining and it’s quite possibly the best mountain adventure you can have without putting on a pair of skis. Amtrak Guide

By train travelers for train travelers, 10 best amtrak trips on the east coast.

Portland Maine Head Lighthouse

Full of historic places, coastal towns and rolling mountains, the East Coast of the United States is great to explore by train. You can easily travel between major cities or enjoy a scenic train ride to quieter areas with beaches, parks and even ski resorts. Here are the best Amtrak trips on the East Coast to start planning your rail vacation.

This website is reader supported and not affiliated with Amtrak. We may earn a small commission from links on this page.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

One of the most majestic sights in the United States, Niagara Falls can be reached via the Empire Service and Maple Leaf Amtrak routes (book tickets to Niagara Falls, NY). Trains depart New York City and other cities in New York state, including Poughkeepsie, Albany and Utica. On the way to the falls, you’ll travel through the beautiful Hudson River Valley and have views of the Hudson River (a fall trip is a great way to see the stunning foliage).

Due to the train schedule, it’s best to stay two nights in Niagara Falls area in order to have a full day to see the sights.

New River Gorge

New River Gorge Bridge

The Cardinal Amtrak route is one of the most scenic on the East Coast, with travel through the New River Gorge in West Virginia. Consider booking your tickets to Charleston, WV from cities including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. You can rent a car in Charleston and drive about two hours to reach the New River Gorge National Park (hiking, rock climbing, campgrounds, whitewater rafting). Or simply stay in Charleston until it’s time to board an eastbound train for the return trip back through the gorge.

From Chicago and other Midwest cities, travel to White Sulphur Springs Station to see the gorge and stay overnight at the Greenbrier Resort . One of the many resort activities is whitewater rafting on the New River — fees apply, but transportation is included. Alexandria and Washington D.C. are also good places to end the trip due to the nearby airports in case you want to fly home.

Keep in mind that the Cardinal only runs three times per week, so you may see unavailable dates when searching for tickets.

Montpelier Vermont

A ski getaway, fall foliage destination and charming summer vacation spot, Vermont is a year-round destination. Vermonter trains travel through the scenic Hudson River Valley and views are also beautiful once you are in Vermont, especially in the fall and when snow is on the ground. You can connect with trains on this route in cities including Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and New Haven.

The state capital is Montpelier (pictured above). Book your tickets here for fresh maple syrup, hiking trails at Camel’s Hump State Park and ski resorts, including Smugglers’ Notch (water park open in the summer), Bolton Valley, Stowe Mountain, Mad River Glen and Sugar Brush. The Ben and Jerry’s factory tour in nearby Waterbury is also a must-do if you like ice cream.

In addition to Montpelier, Burlington is another recommended city for an overnight stay. It’s a college town on Lake Champlain with a waterfront bike path , many summer events and nearby ski resorts.

Old Orchard Beach Pier

Maine is a charming summer or fall Amtrak trip from Boston on the Downeaster route . In addition to views of scenic villages, marshes, streams and the coastline, you can get off the train to explore beaches, festivals and nature areas. Book tickets to Wells , Saco or Old Orchard Beach (pictured above) to spend time near the ocean. The  Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge  and Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve are also unique places to visit in Wells, and kids will love  Funtown Splashtown USA  in Saco and the  Palace Playland  in Old Orchard Beach.

Foodies should consider a Maine train trip in the fall to check out the Harvest on the Harbor festival in Portland . September is also a great time for a trip; you can visit Maine’s lighthouses for free during Maine Open Lighthouse Day .

Old Montreal, Canada

Two East Coast Amtrak routes travel to Canada, so if you have a valid passport, you can take an international trip via train. Book tickets on the Maple Leaf to visit Toronto or on the Adirondack to reach Montreal (pictured above). Both trains depart from New York City, and you’ll have wonderful views of the Hudson River Valley before crossing the border.

Which city should you visit? Montreal has a European atmosphere and lots of history and parks to explore. Travel time from New York City is about 11.5 hours. Toronto is larger than Montreal and very cosmopolitan — lots of shopping, entertainment, multicultural neighborhoods — similar to Chicago and New York City. Travel time on Amtrak is about 13 hours from Manhattan. Plan to stay in Canada at least two nights if you want time to sightsee.

West Palm Beach Amtrak Station

Escape the cold weather (or head to the beach any time of year) with an overnight train trip to Florida from major cities on the East Coast. The Silver Meteor , Silver Star and Auto Train travel to many Amtrak stations in Florida . You must transport a vehicle and pay the related fees to travel on the Auto Train, which departs near Washington D.C. and travels non-stop to Sanford, Florida.

There are beautiful water views in Maryland and Virginia, and you’ll go to sleep in the Carolinas and wake up in Florida, making the trip go by quickly, especially if your destination is in North or Central Florida. Popular stops include Orlando (for Universal Studios and Walt Disney World ), Tampa, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

Blue Ridge Mountains

Roanoke, Virginia skyline

Most people use the Northeast Regional to travel between big cities on the East Coast, but trains also travel into Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Select Roanoke as your destination, which is in a mountain valley near many hiking trails and places to mountain bike and paddle . As a bonus, the Virginia Museum of Transportation is in town, which has many railroad exhibits.

Due to the train schedule, you’ll need to stay in Roanoke at least one night. Plan to stay two or more if you want to take a drive on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway , visit local attractions or enjoy the many outdoor activities. You’ll also need to start this trip north of the mountain range, such as in Charlottesville, Alexandria, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Wilmington, Philadelphia or New York City.

Allegheny Mountains

Alleghany Mountains in Pennsylvania

The Capitol Limited route also provides mountain and river scenery on the East Coast. Trains travel through the Allegheny Mountains in Maryland and Pennsylvania, plus stop in two historic mountain towns: Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and Cumberland, Maryland . Both destinations are near hiking trails and historic attractions, plus you can ride the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland.

To quickly get to the most scenic part of the trip, start in Washington D.C. From there, you can travel 3.5 hours to Cumberland or stay on the train for a few more hours until Pittsburgh . You can also start the trip in Chicago and from cities in Indiana and Ohio and travel overnight to reach the mountains. Plan your trip in late spring or summer to view the most scenery.

Dutch Country

Amish farm in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

The Keystone Amtrak route travels through Dutch Country farmland from New York City, Philadelphia, Newark (including the airport station) and other cities on the East Coast multiple times each day. It’s a relaxing day or overnight trip that’s great for families, couples or solo travelers. Exit in Lancaster to learn about the Amish community, purchase local food at Central Market or have a fun-filled day at Dutch Wonderland .

Harrisburg , Pennsylvania’s capital, is another destination to plan a trip around, especially in the summer. The charming city is on the Susquehanna River, and top attractions include the National Civil War Museum and State Museum of Pennsylvania . Hersheypark and Hershey’s Chocolate World are also about a 25-minute drive away. Uber and Lyft are transportation options if you don’t want to rent a car.

New Orleans

New Orleans French Quarter

For a long-distance train adventure, New Orleans is at the end of the Crescent route, which departs from many cities on the East Coast. You’ll travel through small towns and cities in the Southeast before crossing over Lake Pontchartrain via the longest railroad bridge in the United States.

Be sure to check out the amazing food, music and festivals in New Orleans while you’re there. You can walk or ride streetcars around the city to explore the Garden District , French Quarter , Jackson Square and old cemeteries . Other top sights include the National World World II Museum , Audubon Zoo and the New Orleans Museum of Art .

Plan to stay in New Orleans at least two nights if you want to have a full day in the city. You can then take a train or flight back to the East Coast or continue your rail vacation by booking tickets on the Sunset Limited or City of New Orleans routes. Trains on these routes depart from New Orleans and travel through Texas, Arizona, California, Mississippi, Tennessee and Illinois. Top destinations include Chicago, Memphis, Houston, San Antonio, Palm Springs and Los Angeles.

RED BUS TOURS

Glacier national park’s in-park transportation.

The scenery and wildlife in Glacier National Park provides constant amazement and inspiration, for young and old alike. A fun way to reveal the deeper significance and meanings of the park is to spend time on an interpretive tour.

The famous Red Buses serve as an ideal way to see and learn more about Glacier National Park. In fact, the vintage 1930s buses are part of the human  history and heritage of the park . As much of the park’s scenery is vertically oriented, the roll-back tops are perfect for providing full views of the stunning mountains, and the area’s signature Big Sky. The guides are seasoned park veterans, who are here because they love the park and enjoy sharing the park with visitors.

The fleet of 33 buses in Glacier is widely considered to be the oldest touring fleet of vehicles anywhere in the world, so due to the historic nature of the Red Buses, seats are not designed to the same standards as today’s buses. The red buses seat 16 people, with 4 across on bench seating. These are snug quarters with limited space. The Red Bus tours tend to sell out on a daily basis, so please don’t expect room to stretch out.

Special Notes: Each bus can accommodate a maximum of 16 passengers plus one driver. We cannot guarantee that all guests in a large group will be on the same bus. Construction delays may occur. Full tour dependent upon access to Logan Pass Visitor Center. Tours will go rain or shine and if the full tour is not available due to the Going-to-the-Sun Road closures,  alternate routes  will be provided. Beginning and ending dates are subject to change based on the seasonal opening and closing of the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
