HWANG MIN HYUN, simply known as Min Hyun, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor. He initially gained attention as a member of idol groups from 2017-2022. Even before his debut, he piqued the public's interest with his charming demeanor and impressive vocals. HWANG MIN HYUN proved his talent as a performer, showcasing both his impressive singing and dancing ability as well as his charm on stage. His popularity as an idol opened doors to other areas of entertainment. His journey may have begun with a passion for music, but his dedication and talent have allowed him to become a multifaceted star. He starred in popular Korean dramas such as Live On (2020) and Alchemy of Souls Season 1 and 2 (2022) . He also made guest appearances on various variety shows, earning praise for his natural humor and wit. HWANG MIN HYUN's success so far is only the beginning. He released his first digital single, Universe , and has since released several other successful tracks and OSTs.

HWANG MIN HYUN made his solo debut in February of this year with the much-anticipated mini-album Truth or Lie , led by the title track “Hidden Side”. The mini-album includes five B-sides; Honest, Crossword, Perfect Type, Smile and Cube, each showcasing Min Hyun’s versatility and range as a solo artist. Stray Kids Took Fans To Heaven With Fiery Performances During Manila “UNVEIL Tour”

A night full of everlasting memories was made by stray kids and filipino stays during the recent unveil tour in manila.

Stray Kids rocked the Manila stage for the very first time as the boys brought their fiery performances over on April 27 at the Araneta Coliseum for the Philippine leg of its  UNVEIL TOUR “I am..” .

Opening the night with a fiery performance of “Hellevator”, the members took over every corner of the stage with their powerful raps, outstanding vocals, and on-point, synchronized choreography. It was followed by an unforgettable performance of “Grr”, where the angst shown by the nine boys overflowed even more on the live stage, and “Awaken”, to which Han shared was their first time performing live ever and thanked fans for their loud cheers.

The group also sounded the alarms with burning hot showcases of their top hits like “My Side”, “District 9”, “I am YOU”, and “Victory Song”.

Additionally, Stray Kids members showed their versatility as they set aside the powerful, heart-thumping beats to make way for more mellow and heartfelt stages. While bringing an ocean of blue to life, Stays ended up drowning in emotions as the boys took everyone away through their sweet, soft voices in “Mirror”, “Insomnia”, and “Voices”.

Showing just how well-deserved their title of 2018’s “monster rookies”, the boys also lit up the stage with a hype-filled stage of “My Pace”, where they took their time in giving an excellent performance for Filipino Stays.

Stays got lost in the group’s maze with their most recent song “Miroh”, setting a bigger fire to an already very lit stage.

During their ending ment, Woo Jin received a round of birthday greetings from fans, who loudly cheered for him by singing a birthday song.

“I’ve been here in Iloilo to study English, so I guess I owe this much to the Philippines. The fact that today I’m able to give back the happiness I received makes me fulfilled. Mahalaga kayo! (You’re important!),” he shared before the outflow of greetings.

Additionally, Bang Chan addressed an event close to a lot of Filipino Stays’ hearts — the recent earthquake which hit the country days before the boy group arrived for the concert.

“We’ve heard about the earthquake that happened in the Philippines and we’re really saddened. The first thing that came to mind was our PH Stays. We wanna send out our deepest condolences to the ones who are affected and hope you find hope through us,” he told everyone, earning a lot of “aww”s from the crowd.

Finally, the group said goodbye to Stays with a performance of “Grow Up”, looking extra soft and ethereal clad in white outfits.

Thanking everyone for the full energy, love, and support they showed that night, Stray Kids members posed an everlasting promise to their Filipino supporters of always being by their side and doing their utmost best to make everyone happy and proud.

Hwang Min-hyun announces 2023 ‘Unveil’ Asia tour

The former NU’EST singer and actor will be heading to Taipei, Bangkok and more

Hwang Min-hyun , also known as a former member of boyband NU’EST , will be holding his first solo Asia tour this year.

On June 26, Pledis Entertainment shared a notice on the singer’s official Weverse page announcing the dates and venues for his upcoming tour. Titled ‘Unveil’, Hwang Min-hyun’s tour will begin in Seoul this August, before heading to Taipei, Bangkok, Macau, Jakarta and Manila.

The Seoul show will be held over three days (August 4 to 6) at the Grand Peace Hall at Kyunghee University, with tickets priced at KRW121,000. Pledis Entertainment has also shared that fans who attend all three days of the concert will be invited for a special hi-touch session with Hwang after the third show.

Seoul ticket sales for fan club members will be held on July 10 from 8pm to 11:59pm KST via Ticketlink, while general sales will begin on July 12 at 8pm KST through the same vendor.

Ticketing details and prices for the international dates have yet to be announced. At the time of publishing, it is not known if additional stops will be added to the tour

Back in February, Hwang made his official solo debut with his mini-album ‘Truth or Lie’. The record, which featured the lead single ‘Hidden Side’, marked his first music release since NU’EST’s disbandment in 2022.

“I wish this current chapter can be a turning point to distinguish [between] the past me and the new,” he said of the record in an interview with NME .

Hwang Min-hyun is also set to lead upcoming K-drama My Lovely Liar alongside actress Kim So-hyun. The series will premiere on tvN on July 24.

On June 26, Hwang Minhyun’s agency Pledis Entertainment announced the 2023 Hwang Minhyun Mini Concert “UNVEIL” Asia tour along with the poster for the Seoul concert through the artist’s official social media.

According to the posters, Hwang Minhyun will kick off his Asia tour by holding his mini concert “UNVEIL” in Seoul from August 4 to 6 at Kyung Hee University Grand Peace Palace. Following this, the artist will greet international fans in Taipei on August 12, Jakarta on August 19, Macau on August 26, Bangkok on September 2, and Manila on October 8.

Hwang Minhyun plans to showcase his charms and songs from his first mini album “ Truth or Lie ” which was released in February this year.

Meanwhile, Hwang Minhyun’s upcoming drama with Kim So Hyun “My Lovely Liar” is also gearing up for its premiere on July 31.

Red Velvet reunites as OT5 for 10th anniversary fancon in Manila

It was a memorable night for Filipino Red Velvet fans, known as Reveluvs or Luvies, as the girl group kicked off their 10th anniversary celebration at MOA Arena on Saturday, performing with all members present.

Joy, who had been absent during the “R to V” world tour last year due to health concerns, rejoined the group and helped light up the arena during their first-ever fancon tour in Manila, titled “HAPPINESS: My Dear, ReVe1uv.”

“Last time, we promised you guys that we’d come back to Manila as five. I’m happy that we kept that promise,” Wendy, the group’s main vocalist, told the fans in English.

In a heartwarming start to the show, the group opened with their debut single, “Happiness,” performed by the original line-up of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy. The four members later welcomed Yeri to the stage for their second performance, “Ice Cream Cake.”

Fans were thrilled to see the group together as five, and excitement filled the arena, which the members pointed out several times.

“When the screen opened for ‘Happiness,’ I was really surprised by your screams,” said Wendy.

“It’s so fun here in Manila. I didn’t feel tired at all because of your incredibly loud cheers,” said Joy, the group’s lead rapper and vocalist.

The group also performed hits such as “Psycho,” “Bad Boy,” “Red Flavor,” “Feel My Rhythm” and “Queendom.”

For refreshing songs that hyped fans just as much, the girls serenaded the arena with “Sunny Afternoon,” “Sunflower,” “Bubble” and “Underwater.”

Getting fans on their feet, the South Korean girl group turned the arena into the biggest party with “Zimzalabim” and “Hit That Drum.”

While Red Velvet gifted Filipino Reveluvs with a night to remember, fans took the opportunity to show their love and support through fan projects.

One of the highlights was fans singing “Remember Forever” while creating a rainbow ocean by lighting up their phones with the members’ colors.

They also unfurled a big tarpaulin from the lower box section that read, “Thank you for the happiness. Loving you is the easiest thing we have ever done.”

The fans also prepared a paper plane project, where those in the standing section threw paper planes onto the stage, each with short song lyrics dedicated to a member during “You Never Know.”

Confetti with printed messages flew by the extended stage for the girls to see. Some of the notes read, “When I think of forever, I think of Red Velvet,” and “I’ll be your friend forever, so lean on me when you’re having a hard time too.

Surely, the night was one for the books for both the group and their fans, as leader Irene expressed that she would genuinely miss the Manila crowd.

Seulgi, the group’s main dancer, also said that Red Velvet will continue to be a group that can return to Manila.

“Let’s see each other again,” she said.

Lea Salonga's Madame Tussauds wax figure unveiled in Manila

Madame Tussauds on Friday unveiled Lea Salonga's wax figure in Manila.

The event was held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Paranaque City. Afterwards, the wax figure will be transferred to Madame Tussauds Singapore.

Lea's wax figure wore a royal blue gown and smiled as it held a microphone and mic stand.

“This is how I normally look when I have a mic stand in front of me at concerts,” the theater icon said at the press event.

She added in a video presentation, “This figure is one that I tend to default to when I'm performing on stage and there's a mic stand in front of me, I tend to hold it. I like to hold it with both hands. It feels grounding, especially if it's a song that requires a lot of mental energy. It feels very secure to do that.”

Lea said that the blue dress was made by her favorite designer and longtime friend, Rajo Laurel.

It is one of her favorite looks, Lea added, and she has it in several colors, but the blue one is the one she likes the most. It features a corset and crepe fabric that when packed in a suitcase and brought out, would be ready to be used right before a performance.

"I chose this dress as I felt it best represented my personality and sensibilities when deciding what to wear for performances. This gown served me so well for so many shows, so it felt right for it to be continued to be seen on Madame Tussaud's wax likeness of me."

The wax figure will be the first of a Filipino artist at the Singapore museum and took six months in the making.

“The road leading up to today has been a very long one. There was a sitting in London while I was over there doing a show, and it was a Sunday. It was a very long Sunday well spent,” Lea said at the event. “So many measurements taken, so many discussions on what is this pose going to look like, what are we trying to achieve with this particular likeness.”

The singer and actress said she would receive progress photos she would also share with her family. “I would have a mini freak out because, because it's like, okay, this is--that's me,” Lea said with a laugh.

Lea showed the final progress photo to her daughter Nicole Chien who said, “Mom, I love the pose. I love the pose because it's not a static pose like for a photograph. It looks like you're about to do something. It looks like you're about to open your mouth and sing.”

Lea added, “So that's why it is the way that it is. And I'm glad that the kid caught it. I'm glad that Nick was able to figure that out. I have a smart kid, so it's all good.”

Not only that, a Filipino Madame Tussauds artist based in London was among those who worked on the figure.

“It’s Filipino pride all around because even the artist that handled the face is Filipino,” Lea said.

Elaine Quek, Head of Sales and Marketing at Madame Tussauds Singapore, said that they chose to make a wax figure of Lea because she is “a legendary icon,” with “undeniable talent, iconic roles, and most importantly, we listen to her loyal fans.”

"Our team of expert sculptors spent up to six months making the figure, paying meticulous attention to detail to ensure that this wax figure captures her spirit and charisma. Together with Lea, we have chosen a pose that exudes her magnetic presence on stage where her talent and personality shine through. We hope that through this figure, her legacy continues to inspire visitors globally."

Lea's fans can visit her figure starting September 20 at the Music Zone of Madame Tussauds Singapore, along with other international personalities such as Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and more.

The project was first announced in June. Lea joins fellow Filipino celebrities Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray who have also had their Madame Tussauds wax figures. Anne Curtis is also set to have her own .

Lea rose to stardom after starring in the musical “ Miss Saigon ” as the original Kim, a teenage Vietnamese girl who was orphaned and forced to work in the brothel Dreamland before the end of the Vietnam War. Lea was the first Filipino to win a Tony and Laurence Olivier Award for her role in the production.

In 2021, Lea joined the cast of “ Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin .”

In 2023, she made her Broadway comeback in the musical “ Here Lies Love ” as Aurora Aquino, former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino’s mother. Lea starred in “ Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends ” in the West End that same year.

This October, Lea is playing the lead role in the wordless play, “ Request sa Radyo .” She will alternate with Dolly De Leon.

In November, she will release her Christmas album, “ Sounding Joy .” Lea is also bringing her Stage, Screen & Everything in Between tour to Manila that same month.

Aside from her work in theater, Lea is also famous for being the singing voice of Disney Princesses Jasmine from “Aladdin” and Mulan.

It's never too early to make Valentine's Day plans! British-Norwegian boy band A1 is serenading their Filipino fans in February 2025.

The pop group, known for their hit  Like a Rose,  is bringing their "Valentine's Tour 2025" to the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on February 15, 2025.

"Since our last visit to the Philippines, we've been busy working on our long-awaited new album, and production is in the final stages," A1 member Mark Read said. "We have 15 new songs that we're currently putting the finishing touches to, for what is shaping up to be an incredible album, so expect some exciting teasers in the show."

Tickets for the concert will go on sale on Oct. 1, 12 p.m. via TicketNet outlets or their website . Here's how much they will cost, exclusive of ticket service charge:

Day 1 Manila

Arrive at anytime and dive right into the bustling city life of Manila. There's nothing planned today until your Welcome Meeting this evening, so spend the day how you'd like. Manila is the biggest, brightest and liveliest city in the Philippines so start your adventure off on a high note by exploring the neighborhood near your hostel.

Exclusive Inclusions:

Day 2 manila/mount purro.

After breakfast in Manila, travel with your group to Mount Purro Nature Reserve, a G for Good project. You'll be greeted by your loca hosts for the next 2 days before heading out on an afternoon jungle waterfall hike and swim. In the evening, join the local Dumagat people to cook over the bonfire. Together, learn to make rice and Filipino tom yum soup over the fire in bamboo before sitting down to dig in to the meal together.

Meals included:

Day 3 mount purro/manila.

We know it's early but you don't want to miss this. Wake while it's still dark for a hike up to the peak of Mount Purro for an amazing view of the sunrise. Take it all in, maybe a selfie or two, before hiking back down. Enjoy breakfast at the reserve and enjoy your final jungle moments. Late morning, we'll drive back to Manila and enjoy some free time in the city.

Day 4 Manila

In the morning, choose to join your CEO and visit many must see points around the city like Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral and Postigo del Palacio. Or just take it easy and have a wander around Makati. In the afternoon, hop in a legendary Filipino jeepney and eat your way through Chinatown. It's known as the culinary center of the Philippines, so try their street food - a blend of typical Chinese and Filipino food.

Day 5 Manila/Puerto Princesa

This morning, we'll head to the airport and catch a flight to Puerto Princesa. After arriving in the early afternoon, spend a free afternoon in this seaside paradise. Opt to go on the Puerto Princesa City Tour and visit notable spots like Immaculate Conception Cathedral and Baker's Hill.

Day 6 Puerto Princesa/El Nido

This morning, put on your adventure hat, grab your camera and visit the famed underground river on a boat ride through Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. In the afternoon, we'll drive to El Nido. Great ready for the next few days: forecast calls for crystal blue water, karst cliffs, and perfect island life. Not too shabby.

Day 7 El Nido

If you came to the Philippines for island life, today will be your day. Hop aboard for our very own private island hopping tour. Epic right? We'll cruise, swim and snorkel our way through perfectly clear water, stopping at iconic beaches like Hidden Beach and Secret Beach. A pretty dreamy day if you ask us.

Day 8 El Nido

Spend your last day in El Nido doing exactly what you want! There are so many things to do to make for your perfect day! You could hike to the top of Taraw Peak for a gorgeous view or visit Kuyawyaw Falls. Looking for more of a beachy vibe? Opt to kayak through the crystal clear water or relax on the white sand and enjoy a beach day.

Day 9 El Nido

Say goodbye to your fellow Roamies and depart at any time.
