MANILA, Philippines – K-pop boy group Stray Kids might have just been in the Philippines in January, but for Filipino STAYs, the group’s MANIAC concert tour in Manila was a long time coming. 

The eight-piece act’s last concert in the Philippines was in April 2019 for their Unveil Tour ‘I Am’. They were supposed to have a concert again in Manila in 2020, but as with most events, it got canceled due to the pandemic.

The opening performance featured a grand stage design, including larger-than-life moving spider legs. 

While member Han didn’t participate in the choreography during the first day of the two-night concert in Manila, he was still able to belt out his parts smoothly even while sitting. Earlier on Saturday, JYP Entertainment had announced that he and Seungmin were experiencing symptoms of enteritis. The agency assured fans, though, that the two had received treatment and prescriptions before flying to the Philippines. 

Arguably one of the highlights of the show was when Stray Kids pulled off a sultry group performance of “Red Lights” – a track that was originally sung by Bang Chan and Hyunjin for the 2021 NOEASY album.

“We’ll give you one of the greatest nights you’ll ever experience,” leader Bang Chan said during their opening ment. And boy, did they not disappoint. 

The energetic guys did not give fans any time to breathe as they transitioned swiftly to back-to-back performances of “Easy,” “All In,” “District 9,” and “Back Door.” They then showcased their smooth choreography with “Charmer” before asking the FIlipino STAYs to sing along to their track “Lonely St.” 

The arena was filled with deafening screams when a live band emerged, making Stray Kids’ stages of “Thunderous,” “Domino,” and “God’s Menu” even more powerful. They continued hyping the crowd with a slew of electrifying tracks – “Cheese,” “Yayaya,” and “Rock.” 

“Today, we feel like we’ve prepared a lot for you. And we still have a lot to show you. We’re just getting started,” member Felix said. 

Stray Kids then wowed the crowd with riveting unit stages: members Seungmin, Lee Know, I.N, and Bang Chan serenading Filipino STAYs with “Waiting For Us,” and Felix, Han, and Hyunjin, Changbin bringing the house down with “Muddy Water.” 

In between the unit stages, the members showed off their individual charms – Hyunjin danced to “Play with Fire,” Felix sang a cover of “Love Again,” Seungmin prepared an acoustic version of “OMG,” and Lee Know sang a rendition of “This City.” 

Then there was pure adrenaline when Stray Kids performed crowd-favorites “Case 143,” “Hellevator,” “Top,” and “Victory Song.” Bang Chan told Filipino STAYs: “If you want to sing or dance along, go ahead, we don’t care. Go crazy, go wild, go mad. Have fun! Because tonight is a good night, right?” 

The group then returned to the stage by starting their encore set with “FAM!” and “Miroh.” The “FAM” stage, especially, was made even more adorable when the boys started introducing each other based on the song’s lyrics. 

When the group said it was time to wrap up the show, the crowd couldn’t help chanting, “ Walang uuwi (No one’s going home).”

“I’m really happy that I get to spend this time with you guys,” member Lee Know said through a translator. “I don’t know when we can meet again, but please don’t be sad. When we come back, please welcome us again with such great joy. We’ll be the greatest artists in the world.”

Member I.N shared, “We really wanted to show the best of us to you guys. I hope that the stages we had today were better than the ones we had before. We’re always doing our best. I’ll make sure that we’ll come back here.” 

“Today is truly the chance to meet STAYs that haven’t seen us in a long time,” Felix told the crowd. “Today is a great day. I could see that people here are very loving and cheerful in a way. You guys cheered us a lot today. This will be a very unforgettable memory, for sure. Magkikita tayo ulit (We’ll see each other again soon).” 

Bang Chan said: “I’m just really relieved that we got to meet each other again…. The energy I feel from you guys is on a different level.” 

Before saying his closing ment, member Hyunjin was surprised by Filipino STAYs with a birthday greeting. He said: “I’m thankful that I can meet you guys when it’s near my birthday…. I think out of all the MANIAC tours we had, this one was really unforgettable. That’s why I really want to come back again. Mami-miss ko kayo (I’ll miss you.)”

Seungmin admitted that he came to the Philippines “with a lot of expectations.” “But you guys never changed. You gave us another great memory today.” Changbin added that he enjoyed the Manila show “very much.” “We’ll make sure that we’ll come back soon,” he continued. 

The crowd then chanted “Han Jisung,” and Han assured fans that his condition is okay. “I’m feeling great. Your energies make my condition better. Please don’t cry. I’m okay,” he said. He also confessed that he feels sad that he wasn’t able to participate in the choreography, but the Filipino STAYs cheered him on, saying that it’s okay. “ Mahal ko kayo (I love you), STAYs,” he said. 

Before the show came to a close, Stray Kids and Filipino STAYs were able to chant “Stray kids all around the world. You make stray kids stay!” – a moment that most fans had been waiting for. Fans also prepared a banner that read: “ Narito kami, ang inyong tahanan (We are here, your home.)”

The group then ended the show with “Star Lost” and “Haven” – their love letter to fans. And as the crowd sang along to the lyrics “I wanna stay with you” and “it’s now or never,” they were already looking forward to feeling alive with Stray Kids once again. – Rappler.com

The upcoming concert will mark the first time Stray Kids will perform on the Philippine concert stage, heightening the excitement of fans who have been looking forward to see their favorite boys live.

With the boy group’s signature top-class stages,  UNVEIL TOUR ‘I am…’  will surely feature fiery and explosive performances.

Meet Stray Kids — 2018’s Monster Rookie of the Year

Stray Kids is JYP Entertainment’s newest addition to its lineup of artists after being formed through the reality survival show  Stray Kids  which aired on Mnet from October to December 2017.

In January 2018, the boys released their pre-debut extended play titled Mixtape . It featured seven songs which were previously performed on the reality show including “Hellavator”.  Mixtape  debuted on the second spot of both Gaon’s Album Chart and Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

Stray Kids officially debuted in March 2018 through the release of the EP  I Am NOT  led by “District 9”. The mini-album debuted on the fourth spot of Gaon’s Album Chart and fifth spot of Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

The boys followed up  I Am NOT  with their second extended play  I Am WHO  in August 2018. The EP featured “My Pace” as its title track. It peaked at the third spot of Gaon’s Album Chart.

In October 2018, the boy group came out with its third EP titled  I Am YOU.  It was led by the song of the same title. It peaked at number two position of Gaon’s Album Chart.

Aside from their chart-topping tracks, Stray Kids members are also active in the production of their albums through writing and composing the songs.

With the boys’ hard work, talents, and skills, they swept rookie awards in South Korea namely Asia Artist Awards, Golden Disc Awards, MBC Plus x Genie Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, Seoul Music Awards, and Soribada Best K-Music Awards.

Almost four years after their first concert in the Philippines, South Korean boy group Stray Kids made their way back to the Philippine concert stage and brought their second world tour, MANIAC , to the SM Mall of Asia Arena with back-to-back concerts for their Philippine STAYs.

Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N kicked off the Manila leg of their world tour on March 11 with a three-hour show that saw them perform songs from their recent releases and their greatest hits from their earlier albums.

Before the show even began, Filipino STAYs filled the arena with enthusiasm and fervor as they sang along to the tracks and held up their lightsticks in support of their favorite boy band.

With Stray Kids strikingly charismatic in red, the highly anticipated concert officially began with “MANIAC”, “Venom”, and “Red Lights” from their million-selling albums Oddinary and Noeasy . In addition to the outstanding performances by the boy group, the MANIAC Tour concert featured a one-of-a-kind concert spectacle that included incredible stage designs, unusual props, mesmerizing lights, and a live band.

Leader Bang Chan then took the lead in greeting their Filipino fans after a long time following their first meeting in 2019. “You guys are very, very good at cheering today,” he commented as the crowd goes loud for the boy group. After a group greeting, the members individually said hello and introduced themselves in Filipino.

Following the high-energy start and now clad in a black-and-white ensemble, Stray Kids kept the momentum alive with “Easy” and “ALL IN”. Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N then brought everyone at the MOA Arena back to 2018 with “District 9”, the title track of their debut extended play I Am Not .

With performances of songs from not just their most recent albums but also from earlier ones—songs that epitomized the boys’ remarkable artistry from the time they were rookies—the MANIAC Tour served as a tribute to the members’ artistic development. With their last concert in the Philippines dating back to 2019, the concert was a moment unlike any other, a nostalgic and proud feeling to have witnessed them in their first year since their debut to the million-seller and sold-out acts that they have become today. 

The concert witnessed live stages of “Back Door”, “Charmer”, “Lonely St.”, “Side Effects”, “Thunderous”, “Domino”, “God’s Menu”, “Cheese”, “Yayaya”, and “Rock” before Stray Kids divided themselves into units with Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N performing “Waiting for Us”, while Changbin, Hyunjin, and Felix took on the stage with “Muddy Water”. During the interval before the unit stages, the boys had fun with STAYs and gifted them with spontaneous freestyle dance (Hyunjin), a cover of Dua Lipa’s “Love Again” (Felix), and Sam Fischer’s “This City” (Lee Know), and an acoustic version of NewJeans’ “OMG” (Seungmin).

“Case 143” got the MOA Arena echoing with love confessions for Stray Kids as STAYs scream “I love you” to the boy group. The boy group then ended the set prior to the encore with a jaw-dropping parade of performances of “Hellavator”, “Top”, and “Victory Song”.

While Stray Kids prepare for the encore stages, STAYs took the spotlight and gamely said yes to the missions prepared by the boys— talented idols and talented fans (of all ages) united ! Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N returned for the encore stages of “Fam”, “Miroh”, “Star Lost”, and “Haven”.

“Whenever we do a concert with STAYs, it’s not just us that’s doing the concert, but I feel like we’re doing it together because we sing together, dance together. We share love together,” Bang Chan remarked. Han, who had to sit down during the concert due to health reasons, received loud cheers from the fans, reassuring him of their understanding. Still, despite the limitations, he delivered nothing short of his best with an impressive display of his rap and vocals and a dominating stage presence that radiated throughout the show. In addition, the members made sure Han never felt left out, going their way to come to him.

“I know you guys really hate to hear this word—I’m sorry. I’m really, really sorry about that. I know you guys are really worried about my condition issues and healthcare, but guys, to be honest, I really feel okay, I really feel great. Doing this show and your energy make my condition better. I feel great now,” Han said. He also urged the fans not to cry and assured them that he is really okay.

“The last time we came here was very beautiful. I can see why the people are so lovely, very loving, and very cheerful in a way. And seeing that, I feel like you guys really did cheer us up a lot. I felt that a lot today.” FELIX

MANIAC Tour in Manila was an auditory and visual display, a touching reunion, and teamwork that resulted in a successful event that would be talked about for days, months, and years to come. It was produced with astounding showmanship that demonstrated a concert unlike any other.

The concert ended with an energy that never wavers and a stronger promise to stay because STAYs make Stray Kids stay—and this is home.

The myriad of artists coming to the Philippine shores annually has increased tremendously and we are always on the lookout for more heart-thumping and mind-blowing performances. On April 27th, 2019 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum , monster rookie group, Stray Kids , has successfully delivered what we’re all yearning for during their “ UNVEIL Tour: I Am ” in Manila .

This nine-member group consisting of Bang Chan , Woojin , Changbin , Han , Lee Know , Seungmin , Hyunjin , Felix , and I.N . were thrilled to grace the Philippine stage for their first time 2 years after debut. We previously featured how this JYP newcomer embodies the voice of the youth, and we’ve witnessed it come alive during the show with a storyline that was centred on the quest of self-identity.

When the clock hit 7:00 PM, the arena lights began to dim. The stage blazed in a red hue, perfectly signalling the stars’ arrival. Filipino Stays’ roaring cheers of anticipation grew exponentially higher in every second, and when Stray Kids finally came up on stage, everyone became hysterical. The award-winning boyband opened the stage with an explosive performance of their debut song “ Hellevator “, followed with fiery and overflowing angst of “ GRR “, “ NOT! “, and “ Awaken “.

Stray Kids were literally glowing in the dark and were amusing to the eye while dressed in neon green outfits — beaming and moving smoothly while executing their flawless choreography. Han and Changbin definitely shine with their breathtaking rapping skills with the song “ District 9 “. It was also impressive to watch Stray Kids’ melancholic and theatrical act to give life to “ Mirror ” and “ Who? “, which were shown through their melodramatic utilization of the huge mirror frame and creative storytelling of their infinite hunger to address the questions unanswered.

Shocked by the jam-packed coliseum, the members were in awe of the warm welcome they received from their Filipino fans. Felix mentioned that it made him think that they have to own the stage that night — which they successfully did in the subsequent performance of “ Voices “, highlighting the vocal prowess of Woojin, I.N, and Seungmin. Their absolute hype song “ My Pace” also lightened up the mood of the entire coliseum. Title track “ Miroh ” was also one of the highlights of the show as it made the fans engaged by dancing enthusiastically.

Two-hour long concerts with live performances can be very tiring, but Stray Kids never hinted their exhaustion and continued to wow their fans. The group expressed their gratitude through individual messages, to which Lee Know conveyed that the “ H ” in “ Miroh ” can mean heaven or hell and that he thinks that they’re on the right path now — basking in the glory of heaven with their fans’ love. Hyunjin also said that they rehearsed everything until dawn, but seeing how happy their Filipino Stays were, made everything worth it. On behalf of the whole group, Bang Chan extended his deepest condolences to the Filipinos affected by the recent earthquake and encouraged them to never lose hope amidst the tragedy.

After a series of warm exchanges and witnessing passionate fan projects, Stray Kids continued the show with a bang! The atmosphere turned into a huge party, and everyone was vibing really hard to “ Awkward Silence ,” “ Get Cool ,” and “ Yayaya “. The boys capped off the night with a sweet song “ Grow Up “, reminding their fans that in every struggle, they should remember that they have always done well.

After Stray Kids bowed and offered their sincerest gratitude on stage, the energy was still unwavering, proving yet again the overflowing potential of this JYP rookie group. Seeing them rocking the stage is an obvious reminder that the numerous recognition such as the Golden Disc Awards’ “ Best New Artist “, is well-deserved. We’re thrilled to see them flourish in their career in the future.

Singer and actor Hwang Minhyun will go on his first solo Asia tour in August!

On June 26, Hwang Minhyun’s agency Pledis Entertainment announced the 2023 Hwang Minhyun Mini Concert “UNVEIL” Asia tour along with the poster for the Seoul concert through the artist’s official social media.

According to the posters, Hwang Minhyun will kick off his Asia tour by holding his mini concert “UNVEIL” in Seoul from August 4 to 6 at Kyung Hee University Grand Peace Palace. Following this, the artist will greet international fans in Taipei on August 12, Jakarta on August 19, Macau on August 26, Bangkok on September 2, and Manila on October 8.

Hwang Minhyun plans to showcase his charms and songs from his first mini album “ Truth or Lie ” which was released in February this year.

Meanwhile, Hwang Minhyun’s upcoming drama with Kim So Hyun “My Lovely Liar” is also gearing up for its premiere on July 31.

A day prior to his ' UNVEIL ' mini-concert, singer and actor Hwang Minhyun sat down with the press to answer some questions on both his acting and musical career.

This marks Minhyun's first solo Asia tour, bringing excitement both to the artist and fans who have been waiting to see him in the flesh. " It's been a while since I came here in Manila, and of course, I'm super excited for tomorrow. I hope you will come and enjoy what I've prepared ," he said.

In terms of his musical career, Minhyun expressed his desire to do music for a long time, adding, " I still have so many things to unveil to you, so please look forward to them in the future! "

According to Minhyun, he is not the type of person who has an interest in many things, but he emphasized that he likes traveling and photography. If given the chance, he would like to go to Boracay to watch the sunset. " I really love nature, and the Philippines is very rich in it. I think I heard that Boracay is a wonderful place ," he added.

" There are a lot of countries that I have not visited yet, but in the future when I get more time, what I really want to do is put my backpack on and do a world tour with it ."

When asked about how he prepares as both an actor and singer, Minhyun stated that as a singer, preparing for a stage takes months and a lot of external help from the staff. On the other hand, when it comes to acting, he said that he has to go to the set or the shooting area prepared.

SHINee singer Taemin has announced his 2024 solo world tour, titled ‘Ephemeral Gaze’, featuring concerts in Asia and more.

Today (July 19), SHINee’s Taemin announced the first batch of dates for his upcoming 2024 ‘Ephemeral Gaze’ world tour, currently featuring 14 concerts over 10 countries across four months.

It’ll kick off with a two-day concert at the end of August at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea. Thereafter, the K-pop star will bring his tour to cities across Japan, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. They include Jakarta, Abu Dhabi, Tokyo and more.

Tickets to the South Korean dates of Taemin’s 2024 ‘Ephemeral Gaze’ world tour will go on pre-sale July 23, while general sales start July 26, both through Interpark Ticket.

Meanwhile, ticketing and venue details for the Asia leg, as well as more dates across the world, are expected to be announced soon. Keep tabs on this page for the latest updates.

Earlier this week, during his ‘Never-Never’ fanmeeting in Seoul, Taemin teased that he would be releasing his fifth mini-album next month . The project will be his first solo release since he left SM Entertainment and signed with BPM Entertainment in April.

Taemin last released solo music in October 2023 with  the mini-album ‘Guilty’, led by a title track of the same name . The record included  hit song ‘The Rizzness’,  and marked his first music since he completed his two years of mandatory military service in April 2023.

In an  interview with  NME , Taemin shared: “[The single] ‘Guilty’ is about a selfish love that hurts the other person. It’s not coming from my experience, but I used it as a way to define what love is and express it on stage.”

Zeal & Ardor have announced a Fall 2024 North American tour in support of their upcoming album, GREIF , which arrives August 23rd. The avant-garde metal band has also unveiled the LP’s latest single, “Hide in Shade.”

The tour, which features support from Gaerea and Zetra, kicks off November 23rd in Philadelphia, and runs through a December 18th show in Dallas. Along the way, it will hit New York City, Montreal, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Seattle, among other markets.

Tickets for select dates go on sale today (July 19th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster , with other shows available through local venue links via the band’s website . Fans can also look for deals or get tickets to sold-out dates via StubHub , where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

“We can finally share our U.S. dates later this year,” stated Zeal & Ardor. “We’re excited to play the new world again, moreover we have an incredible group of artists along with us. We can’t wait to see you there.”

The new single, “Hide in Shade,” shows off the wide scope of Zeal & Ardor’s sound, ranging from the call-and-response influence of African-American spirituals to the guttural screams of extreme metal.

“We would be remiss if we didn’t share something closer to what we are known for,” the band commented on the the new song. “This is that. Where the sun shows all we hide in shade. Stay strange.”

Three major players in artificial intelligence unveiled compact language models this week, signaling a major shift in the AI industry. Hugging Face , Nvidia in partnership with Mistral AI , and OpenAI have each released small language models ( SLMs ) that promise to democratize access to advanced natural language processing capabilities. This trend marks a significant departure from the race for ever-larger neural networks and could redefine how businesses implement AI solutions.

The new models— SmolLM , Mistral-Nemo , and GPT-4o Mini —each represent different approaches to creating more accessible AI, but they all share a common goal: bringing powerful language processing capabilities to a wider range of devices and applications.

Small wonders: How compact AI models are changing edge computing

Hugging Face’s SmolLM stands out as perhaps the most radical of the three. Designed to run directly on mobile devices, SmolLM comes in three sizes: 135 million , 360 million , and 1.7 billion parameters. This range pushes AI processing to the edge, addressing critical issues of data privacy and latency.

The implications of SmolLM extend far beyond mere efficiency gains. By bringing AI capabilities directly to edge devices, it paves the way for a new generation of applications that can operate with minimal latency and maximum privacy.
