How much does it cost to Tour Israel?

The cost of touring Israel can vary widely depending on factors such as the duration of your trip, the level of accommodation, and the activities you choose. We, at Tour Israel, are of the opinion that most people who have a visit to Israel and the Holy Lands on their bucket list, are only able to go once in their lifetime. With that in mind we have designed a 13-full day land package (15 days if travelling with a group from South Africa) to optimise your time in the Holy Land and to include as many of the important spiritual and biblical sites as possible. Being a longer tour, the comfort and personalisation of the accommodation and meals are of premium priority. As a result the cost of a 13 day tour with luxury accommodation, a top Israeli guide, unique non-touristy sites escalates the price.  The Tour Israel cost  includes accommodation, meals, transportation, guided tours, and entrance fees to attractions. Also included are gratuities to guide, bus driver and hotel staff and group travel insurance.

Keep in mind that costs can fluctuate based on the exchange rate. We quote on a rate slightly higher than at the time advertising, so as not to have any surprises at the time of payment. Unfortunately we cannot control the exchange rate.

Tours to the Holy Land: Trips & Israel Tour Packages 2024, 2025

"Every place we visited was breathtakingly beautiful, with stunning landscapes and rich historical and cultural heritage. We highly recommend visiting Israel to anyone who wants to experience an unforgettable journey. We had a life-changing time there and are already planning to return." Simon L. and Beatriz G. – Tour to Israel/Egypt/Jordan February 2024 "I had a wonderful time in Israel. I felt while I was there the precautions that were taken for our safety were well in hand. I still got to experience many holy sites and be blessed by walking the path that Jesus walked. Every day was started in prayer, singing, or scripture reading which also extended the blessing of the trip." Quincie L. – Tour to Israel/Egypt/Jordan February 2024

Our Israel tours & Holy Land tours of 9-24 days for the Evangelical Protestant Bible believer are what Pilgrim Tours does best. Featured Sites in Israel

Explore a vast selection of beautiful historical and Biblical locations throughout Israel with our Israel Holy Land tour. You can visit Jerusalem, Galilee, and parts of Samaria, getting the life-changing opportunity to see where Jesus and many other Biblical figures lived and walked. We even offer Holy Land tours that allow you to see the Dead Sea, the Garden Tomb, and the Jordan River Baptism Site. Like all of our Europe tours , our Israel Holy Land tours are led by local guides who have extensive knowledge of the area and its history. If you want to experience the history of Israel and see the Bible come to life, our Holy Land tours give you that opportunity.

The city of Jerusalem offers a unique convergence of Judaism, Christianity, and the Muslim faith. For Christians who visit Jerusalem, you will learn about many stories of the Bible while walking her streets. Many actors in the Bible such as Abraham, King David, King Solomon, the twelve disciples and Jesus all lived, visited, or spent time there. The Passion week of Christ will be highlighted during our stay as we visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Western Wall, the Way of Suffering, and the Garden Tomb.

Sea of Galilee

Nowhere in Israel does the Bible come to life more than along the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Pilgrims who visit the Galilee region have the opportunity to imagine what life was like 2,000 years ago and what Jesus and the twelve disciples experienced while fishing on the Sea of Galilee. The peaceful setting and the natural wonders of the Golan Heights to the east and Mt. Arbel to the west make for a great way to start your morning in quiet reflection. During our tour, we explore the Biblical towns of Capernaum, Magdala, and Nazareth and take a meaningful cruise on the Sea of Galilee.

The Dead Sea is not only the lowest and most lifeless lake in the world, but also nearly 10 times saltier than the ocean. Travelers will enjoy the beautiful colors of the blue water and the red mountains of Jordan to the east. Take time to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Dead Sea “float” either in the sea itself or at one of the warm salt water pools at our hotel. The Dead Sea experience is truly a bucket list visit you won’t want to miss!

Garden Tomb

Our visit to the Garden Tomb and its surrounding gardens is normally one of the highlights of our tour to Israel. The Garden Tomb is a rock-cut tomb in Jerusalem that was unearthed in 1867 and is considered by some Protestants to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Our visit offers a unique time of prayer, reflection, communion, and praise, which will be a special life-long memory for many travelers.

Jordan River Baptism Site

The Jordan River Baptist Site or “Yardenit” is a baptism site located along the Jordan River just south of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. This site is frequented by Christian Pilgrims who enjoy imagining the setting of the baptism of Jesus. For anyone who would like to be baptized in the Jordan River, Yardenit has been developed to be a peaceful setting with beautiful gardens, clean colored water, changing facilities, showers, and a nice souvenir shop.

Caesarea Philippi

To many Pilgrim travelers, Caesarea Philippi is a special surprise while on their tour. Located along the rushing springs of Mt. Hermon, the beautiful and natural setting is where Jesus asked his disciples “Who do men say that I am?” He asked this question while observing the pagan worship of the god Pan as worshipers offered their sacrifice at the “Gates of Hell.” Our time at Caesarea Philippi is one of many opportunities throughout our tour to see the lessons and message of the Bible come to light in a special way.

Israel Tours: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best month for the Holy Land tour?

Taking a trip to Israel during the spring or fall offers the most enjoyable weather of the year but normally has the largest crowds. If you want to enjoy a peaceful tour with fewer crowds, consider visiting between December and February or June and August. We offer Israel and Jordan tours throughout the year, so you can select a trip that works for your schedule.

How many days do you need for a Holy Land tour?

We offer several types of tours of the Holy Land, so the duration of your tour depends on the tour package you choose. The Best of Israel Tour is our most basic offering and includes a Sea of Galilee boat ride, a trip to the Jordan River Baptism Site, the Dead Sea, and many opportunities to walk on the same land Jesus walked on. This is our shortest trip at just 9 or 10 days. Our most involved trips allow you to experience a wide range of historical locations over the course of a few weeks. Egypt tours are included in some of these packages, as well as tours in Greece and other countries. These tours can take up to 24 days, giving you the chance to spend an extended period of time learning about and visiting different parts of the world. From our Turkey tours to all of our Israel Christian tours, all of our tours feature a first-class hotel rating for the country you visit. We do offer some upgraded tours that offer better lodging options. You can review our hotel categories at https://www.pilgrimtours.com/company/hotelcomparison.htm . Check out any of our tours to view a day-by-day itinerary and see what amenities are included with each tour.

What is the dress code in Israel?

The dress code in Israel is different from other parts of the world. There are a few dress code basics you should understand before booking Israel tours: When you’re in Israel, there is no strict dress code. You can wear what you feel comfortable wearing. However, both men and women should try to dress conservatively and cover their shoulders and knees when visiting any of the religious sites throughout Israel. Generally speaking, it’s best to avoid tank tops and shorts. Men need to cover their heads when visiting the Western Wall. Pilgrim Tours provides a Pilgrim Tours ball cap upon arrival in Israel, but you might consider purchasing an affordable kippa that you can bring when you visit Jewish sites. Some places may offer a free kippa, but these are generally low quality. (Women are not required to cover their heads at any sight.) You can figure out what you need to pack and how to dress each day by looking at the itinerary for our Holy Land tours. Guides normally offer guidance on how to dress for the next day while on tour. We also suggest looking at the extended weather forecast as you prepare and pack for your trip.

Is there a lot of walking involved on an Israel Tour?

Our Israel tours do require a significant amount of walking each day and you should be able to walk unassisted 3-4 miles per day on average. Make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes that provide adequate support. While there are bus and boat rides during these tours, you have to walk quite a bit to explore some of the Biblical sites. Our tour guides normally give the group a few options at sites for those that have physical limitations. One thing to keep in mind is that there are many hills and valleys in Israel which can make walking even more taxing. The amount of walking you have to do may vary based on the tour you take, so look at the itinerary before choosing your tour. The good news is that Israel is a beautiful country to see on foot, and you’ll have several opportunities to sit down and give your feet a rest. As long as you have a good pair of shoes and comfortable clothes, it’s easy to forget about all the walking you’re doing and enjoy the tour.

What passport & visa information do I need for your Israel tours?

U.S. citizens need a valid U.S. passport with at least six months validity beyond their intended stay to enter Israel. Make two photocopies of your passport. Leave one copy at home and carry the other separately from your original. Israel: U.S. and Canadian Citizens do not need a Visa when entering Israel. Non U. S. /Canadian Citizens are responsible to fulfill appropriate entry requirements of destination. Contact your Consulate office for requirements.

What common languages will be spoken during your Israel tours?

Hebrew, Arabic and English.

What currency can I use on your Israel tours?

The U.S. dollar is widely accepted across Israel, and we suggest bringing about $30 for each day you’ll be on tour. U.S. dollars are recommended for use for small purchases and lunches. Lunches typically cost $15-20. It is important to bring about 20 $1 bills as some bathrooms charge a small fee for use. Credit cards may also be used for larger purchases. ATMs in Israel are all connected to European and American banking systems. Please be advised that the ATM machines dispense money in SHEKELS – NOT U.S. DOLLARS. Please notify your bank before traveling overseas.

Do I need to bring a converter for the Israel tour?

Israel uses the European plug with two round pins. You will need to bring along the necessary converters and adapters to operate any 120 volt appliances such as hair dryers and electric razors as well as camera and cell phone chargers. Electricity in Israel is 220 volts 50 Hz.

What is the time zone for your Israel tours?

The time zone for Israel is seven hours ahead of EST and two hours ahead of GMT.

What climate should I expect during your Israel tours?

In Israel the climate is temperate, and temperatures all year-round are reasonable. Israel has two main seasons: winter (from November to March) is cold and rainy in most parts of the country; summer (from April to October) is hot and dry with little or no rainfall. The desert areas can be extremely hot in summer time.

TESTIMONIALS

holy land tours from south africa

Julle is lieflike instrumente in God se Hand!

Ronel Botes

A man’s only possession is his memory. In nothing else is he rich. In nothing else is he poor.”

Heritage of the Holy Land Tour

8 days, 7 nights.

Upon arrival to Ben Gurion Airport you will meet our representative and be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv.

This morning CTO’s tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and we’ll drive to the city of Jaffa (Joppa) and take a short walking tour through the winding, picturesque streets of the ancient, fortified town. You’ll encounter the house of St. Simon the Tanner and marvel at the view from the hill top. Next we’ll take a drive north along the coast to the impressive, seaside archaeological ruins of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in honor of the Emperor Augustus. From there we’ll visit Megiddo, referred to in the book of Revelations and thought by many to be the prophesied site of “Armageddon”. The city was inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.)and remained undisturbed until excavations began in modern times. After exploring the ancient ruins we drive toward the Sea of Galilee and check-in to our hotel in Tiberias.

Start the day from historic Tiberias, where Jesus preached along the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Our next destination will be Capernaum, Jesus’ home and the center of his ministry. On to Tabgha and the Church of the Multiplication, the site of Christ’s miracle of feeding the 5,000. Fifth century mosaic floors in the church depict a basket with loaves and two fishes. We’ll drive on to the Mount of Beatitudes, overlooking the sea, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount” and it is believed he chose his 12 apostles. From here we’ll ascend the Golan Heights to take in the panoramic view of Mt. Hermon, the rugged plateau of the Golan, and beneath it the green pastoral Hula Valley, before we return to Tiberias for another lovely night by the waters of the Galilee.

T his morning we travel to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and the Church of the Annunciation, built on the site where it is believed the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. You will also see Mary’s Well and the church of St. Joseph, thought to be the site of his workshop. In nearby Cana we’ll visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. Next we’ll journey through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, with its recently restored amphitheater and visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman city, destroyed by earthquake in 749. From here we’ll continue to Jerusalem, and you’ll check-in at your chosen hotel.

Today we’ll make our way to the Dead Sea, first visiting the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Through the remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea we’ll continue to Masada sited on an remote cliff in the Judean Desert, the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against Rome. You’ll ascend by cable car to the fortress and visit excavations that reveal King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and more. You’ll never forget the breathtaking views of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea in the distance. Nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Bring your swimsuit as if weather permits, it’s possible to “float” on the salty, mineral-rich, water. After a full day, we’ll return to Jerusalem for the night.

Today we’ll start out at Mt. Scopus and enjoy panoramic views of Jerusalem. Holy city for each of the world’s three great religions – Christianity, Judaism and Islam, Jerusalem occupies a unique place in the world. Your tour includes the Mount of Olives, where Jesus first delivered the Lord’s Prayer, and the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas betrayed Jesus to the Romans. In the Old City you will see the Western Wall and Temple Mount, the actual site of the Second Temple. You’ll follow the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, traditional site of the Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection. To the southwest, just outside the Old City, is Mount Zion, traditional site of King David’s Tomb and the Room of the Last Supper. We’ll visit here before our return to the hotel

Today’s tour includes Yad Vashem the the state’s moving memorial to Jewish victims of the Holocaust, established in 1953 at the foot of Mt. Hertzl. Ein Karem is our next stop, a picturesque village in the south-western outskirts of Jerusalem. Traditionally the birthplace of John the Baptist, this small village has great significance in Christian tradition. We’ll visit the Israel Museum home to a detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple and the Shrine of the Book, housing the Dead Sea Scrolls. Our drive will take us by the Knesset (House of Parliament) and the campus of Hebrew University on our way to Bethlehem. Here we’ll see Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity * before returning to your hotel in Jerusalem for the night.

We have reached our final day of the tour. We will take you back to the airport for your flight home or extend your tour to the kingdom of Jordan and/or Egypt. *Site under the Palestinian Authority jurisdiction. Visit subject to situation.

Testimonials

September 2022

We wanted to reach out to extend our thanks….thank you for a trip of a lifetime! Our family recently went on a two week private tour to Israel with Peerless, and the experience was fantastic. Planning a multi-generational, international trip, at the height of COVID, was intimidating, however, Eliana ensured that the entire process was easy. Eliana provided invaluable guidance for planning all aspects of our trip – airfare, hotel accommodations, sightseeing, guides, insurance, and food to name but a few. She provided creative and unique ideas to ensure that our trip was seamless, exciting, safe, educational, emotional, and meaningful. Eliana always went above and beyond and had endless patience for our ever-changing needs. The client service and care we received was incredible and we are thrilled with the end result. Since returning from our trip, we have sent several of our friends to Eliana and to Peerless because we are so confident they will be ask happy with their experience as we were.

Thank you!!

The Levy Family

As we approach the halfway mark in our trip I wanted to reach out to thank you for the most amazing experience!! Everything has been spectacular so far. The hotels, the guide and driver, the itinerary and the people are amazing! We are all getting along so well, the kids have made instant friends and we are loving every second of this trip.

Re: Our family trip to Israel, April 17, 2015

I wanted to send you this letter, following our recent family trip to Israel over the March break. We had a wonderful time during our trip. Your travel services provided us with a plan, a guide, and an experience that the six of us will remember for a lifetime. Our trip introduced us to the marvels of Israel, and the historical significance of the entire region. We had the opportunity to visit ...

August 2016

We recently booked our children’s Bar and Bat Mitzvah tour if Israel trip with Kathy at Peerless Travel. Wow, it was an incredible experience. Both my wife and I refer to the trip as being “perfect”, and we are generally hard to impress! From the organization and planing, to helping us with customizing add-ons to the main trip, to being available at a moments notice to answer any last minute questions...

I wanted to take a moment and thank you and Naomi for organizing our trip to Israel this July. My whole family and I unanimously agree that it was the most incredible trip we have ever taken! Israel is something to see. I can clearly see how one falls in love with the country and the people. We were so proud of what our nation could accomplish in such a short time. We experienced so much in 10 days. The archeological dig was amazing, the kids loved the camel and donkey ...

We are home and I wanted to let you know we had a fabulous trip. The tours were great and so informative. I fell in love with Israel and of course I was so sad it took me so long to get there. The hotels were also wonderful. Our favourites were the Sheraton in Tel Aviv the Dan Carmel and David Citadel. In all cases the staff rooms and views were wonderful. Petra was a must see and a definite highlight. All around 5 stars for everything from Rooms to food to general experience we loved it! The transfers from one hotel to the next were seamless as were the flights and the assistance at the airport on our departing trip from Tel Aviv to Rome.Excellent job.

Thank you so very much.

December 2014

Hope you're doing great!

We just wanted to sincerely thank you and your colleagues for the trip of a lifetime. It was spiritual, meaningful, educational and just a ton of fun. Everything from the magnificent quality of our guide (Shmulik, about whom not enough can be said) to the first-rate accommodations and meals made this an awesome experience. We also shared the trip with a diverse and warm group of people that we now consider close friends. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our son's Bar Mitzvah.

Thanks to you and your Team for your superb organizational skills and creativity in allowing us to see our Homeland in the best way possible.

How are you? Happy New Year.

I have been meaning to email you since we returned from our trip in August. I sincerely apologize.

I wanted to tell you what a tremendous experience it was for us. We loved every minute of it...

I wanted to spend a moment and thank you and Peerless for a trip of a lifetime!

We had high hopes for our Bat Mitzvah trip to Israel and the trip exceeded our expectations.

The itinerary was expertly put together and as we travelled the countryside we learned and appreciated different things about Israel. This all culminated in an inspiring Bat Mitzvah service atop Masada at sunrise. Our tour guide Shmulik was beyond fantastic and we would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a meaningful...

August 2013

We returned from Israel on August 18th but I haven’t had a chance to contact you because I’ve been scrambling to catch up at work. I just wanted to thank you and Peerless for the wonderful trip that you organized. We all had a fantastic time. The trip was so well organized and full of fantastic experiences – some of which we expected, others which were very surprising. The Rabbi was great and the ceremony was beautiful...

Summer 2011

EXCELLENT TRIP EXCELLENT TRIP

Well, we are back and recovered from jet lag. I thought I would take a few minutes to give you some feedback on the trip. First of all, we had a magnificent time. The family rated it a '10 out of 10', Zahavah loved her Bat Mitzvah and we all loved Israel and the tour. I want to raise some specific areas, mostly of praise, and pass on a few ideas.

1. You. You were terrific, responding quickly and efficiently, with good cheer and the right information. Thank you.

2. Our guide...

December 2012

Thank you again for encouraging us to go on the trip. Our son Michael did indeed read from Exodus during the Bar/Bat Mitzvah cermony, which was most memorable, as was the entire trip.

I wanted to underline to you that our guide Neil Eisenstadt was excellent (very informative, knowledgeable and friendly), and we thank you for this.

September 2012

I would like to take this opportunity (belated as it is) to thank you, Ehud, Ahron, Shimon, and the rest of the group at Peerless for making my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah Israel tour an unforgettable experience. To take a group of 7 unfamiliar families, 38 people, ranging in age from six to eighty-something, mix in jet lag of different degrees (people from Montreal, Toronto, Western Canada, and Australia!), add in a hectic schedule, and unbelievable heat, and transform them to a cohesive group, touring a country with thousands of years of history, is an incredible undertaking that Ahron, and Shimon performed with the illusion of it being an effortless task (they even seemed to enjoy themselves)...

Summer 2012

Just wanted to send a quick note to say that we had a great time touring Israel. Even though the itinerary was aggressive, and we would have liked to spend more time in places like Haifa and Tiberias, we realize that we can`t expect to see everything, in such a short time.

Danny the guide, was personable and knowledgeable. Overall, a terrific trip.

Thank you to Peerless, Yahaloma and all the Families who helped make this experience so wonderful!!!

I have a digital mountain of video and photo files to help keep these memories close to my heart and am looking forward to sharing and in turn seeing all of your precious images. I believe that Shea Faigan was interested in hosting a file sharing site for this purpose and will leave that to him (He won the privilege in a scrabble game). Just a few pictures with this email, I will try to send a short video clip in a separate email.

  • Just wanted to express our family's appreciation for a terrific trip to Israel that you organized at Peerless for our grandson Harry Sahlit's Bar Mitzvah. It was a wonderful experience for all concerned. The Bar Mitzvah ceremony on Masada was very moving and the whole trip was most enjoyable. We had a great time! It was an unforgettable experience that we shall always remember. Best regards, Eva M

“Dearest Carla and Micasa Family,

The Pilgrimage was absolutely mind blowing, I was so moved that I cannot explain myself and my inner being , I was so emotional  and filled with the spirit, every moment and step I took  filled me with warmth never mind the heat.

I would to take this opportunity to thank  Micasa Tours , inspirational Tours and our Tour guide Samir, not forgetting  Farus who was our excellent driver in those narrow streets. The service which was supplied by you all was unbelievable and excellent , this also included the wonder Egypt tour guides , who were so patient with us.

We accepted a warm vibrant welcome by all , the front  desk of hotels, staff at dinner, and just everyone was  awesome, always seeing smiling faces laughter is just what was needed especially in a foreign place.

The pilgrimage was well planned with diligence from beginning to end, thank you Micasa, however it seemed to be very compressed because of the flights which basically took up a day , as we never know what unforeseen circumstance can  happen at check in points , maybe this should be taken into consideration, as this will then give us a full comprehensive pilgrimage , but package you offered was excellent and perfect”

“Good afternoon.

  This was my first pilgrimage.

It was everything I expected and much more.

I learned a lot about the cultures and food in Israel and especially what we went for, walking in the path of Jesus. Our your guide Samir was extraordinarily excellent and so was Fares our driver.

I was in awe with all the religious sites that we visited but would’ve liked more time at some sites. At the tomb of Jesus we had the privilege of having mass inside the tomb but not everyone got a chance to be inside the tomb where Father had mass and I found this unfair as we would’ve all liked to experience the actual place where Jesus was laid to rest.

The hotels were good especially Mary’s Well in Nazareth. You should consider changing the hotel from Bethlehem to Jerusalem as 95% of the sites are based there. Check point was a little disturbing.

Micasa was very helpful in assisting me with any questions and believe me I had many. Your service was very good and if I had to do all over again, I would choose you.”

“Dear Carla,

On behalf of the group and I, I would like to express heartfelt thanks to you; Carla, Michelle and Sandro -MICASA. You did a very good job once again, organising our trip to Egypt-Israel.

Hotels, transport, drivers, tour-guides, sides and places visited, and time allocate… you did your level best to coordinate them well.”

“Greetings all at Micasa.

We had a wonderful time in Europe and the entire experience was quite enriching. On behalf of the entire group, I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to Micasa and Karin for a well planned trip.”

“The trip to Israel was great. Thank you for all your efforts.I am impressed by the way Micasa updated us about the trip. I recommended my friends and family to book thier trips with you. I also looking forward to the next planned trips by Micasa. “

Thank you for your mail asking for feedback and thank you to you and your company for working out an outstanding pilgrimage.  I can only say that  everything was so well planned that it amazed me.  The holy sites were fascinating and, in every place, where I said Mass I was warmly welcomed and everything was well prepared.  Accommodation and food was superb.  Raj our guide was super and was always punctual, informative and kind.  Our drivers were skilled and helpful.  Turkish Airlines also rendered an outstanding service. The new Istanbul Airport is huge.  We did a such lot and met so many interesting characters in the short time we were on pilgrimage.  From my side I give you all 10 out of 10.

Thank you and God bless you,
