Spearhead Trails

Located in the Southwest Corner of Virginia,  Spearhead Trails  welcomes ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and hikers to explore hundreds of miles of connecting trails through the mountainous terrain. The trail system currently has five separate trails of varying difficulty for riders of every experience level. Permits are required for every rider and passenger, and helmets must be worn at all times. Spearhead Trails are open from daylight to dark.

Ridgeview Trail System

The Ridgeview Trail System  runs through Haysi and combines tree-lined trails and open ridge riding for lots of scenic views. Made up of over 75 miles of trails, Ridgeview has a mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert routes. This trail is open to ATVs and dirt bikes.

Stone Mountain Trail System

Stone Mountain Trail System  is comprised of 32 miles of intermediate to advanced routes. Nine scenic overlooks provide views of Southwest Virginia never seen by the public before, with picnic tables and rest areas at several of the overlooks. This trail is open to ATVs and dirt bikes.

Coal Canyon Trail System

Coal Canyon  has 112 miles of trails winding through 5600 acres of mountain landscape. Located in Buchanan County, the trail system connects to both Grundy and Haysi, two ATV-friendly towns in the area, and will eventually be expanded to over 500 miles of continuous trails. While on the Coal Canyon Trail, you may spot local elk herds, recently reintroduced to the area. The trail system has route of every level of difficulty, from beginner to expert, and is open to ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikers, and hikers.

The Original Pocahontas Trail System

The Original Pocahontas Trail System  runs through Tazewell County, with the entrance located near the historic town of Pocahontas. The 73 miles of trails run through shaded forests that open to stunning vistas. This trail system has trails of every difficulty level, but leans more towards beginner and intermediate level riders, and  is open to ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and hikers.

Mountain View Trail System

The Mountain View Trail  contains approximately 100 miles of trails, beginning in the ATV-friendly town of St. Paul, with a second trailhead through Coeburn.  Mountain View  has both green and blue trails for beginner and intermediate-level riders, but is heavily geared toward expert riders. There are also 17 miles of single track specifically designated for dirt bike riders. Mountain View Trail is open to ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and hikers.

Jawbone Trail System /  Coal Canyon at Jewell Valley

This trail also features a play area for jeeps and has some great wildlife viewing. Made up of mostly gravel roads with about 30 % of the system on dirt roads and some sections on the Jewell Valley side consisting of scenic asphalt roads, riders will find the same grading system of Green trails, Blue Trails, and Black Trails as well as some yellow trails for ATV’s only.

South Pedlar ATV Trails South Pedlar ATV Trails  are a looping network of 19 miles specifically designed for recreational ATV riders. Advanced riders will find challenges in the narrow and twisting trails, while others will find trails that are wide and inviting. Visitors to the area enjoy panoramic vistas, spectacular mountain laurel blooms in season, and relief from the hot summer sun under the shady forest canopy.

Leave the pavement behind and explore America’s newest National Park by Jeep! A first-of-its-kind motorsports tour inside the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve that runs year-round with no age limit.

We all know winding roads are the best roads and West Virginia has no shortage! The first Yamaha Tenere 700s have arrived in our fleet and are ready to rent! This is the hottest Adventure Touring Motorcycle on the market and can be booked as a rental guided or unguided.

NEED TO KNOW FAQs

We no longer require a rental deposit! However, we do require a credit card to be held on file in the event that damages occur.

Yeah, dummy.  We’ll even provide one for you!  Of course, you are welcome to bring and wear your own helmet so long as it’s full-faced and DOT approved.

Yes. Our minimum ages are as follows:

ATVs – You must be 18 with a valid US drivers license.

Side by Sides –  The driver/operator must be 25 with a valid US drivers license.  Passengers must be 8 with a parent or guardian present.

Jeeps –  The driver/operator must be 25 with a valid US drivers license. There is no minimum age for passengers as long as kids are in the correct car or booster seat as required by law. (We do not provide car or booster seats.)

Motorcycle Rentals  – Must be 25 with a valid US motorcycle license.

Please plan on spending a half an hour before you trip time at our facility to complete paperwork and orientation with your guide.  Please plan on a half an hour after your trip to debrief, de-gear, and enjoy a cold beverage with our friendly staff.

ATV Adventure Tour  – Plan on 3.5 hours with 2.5 hours on the trail.

ATV Experienced Rider Tour  – Plan on 6 hours with 5 hours on the trail.

Side by Side Family Tour  – Plan on 3 hours total with 2 hours on the trail.

Country Roads Full Day Tour – Plan on 9 hours total with 7.5 hours on the road/trails.

New River Gorge Jeep Tour  – Plan on 5 hours total with 4 hours on the road/trail.

Sunglasses  – We will provide eye protection upon requests, but most guests find the wearing of their personal sunglasses more comfortable.

Closed Toe Shoes  – We do not allow flip-flops, open sandals, or any other type of open toe shoes.  If we can see your toe, you can’t go…  We highly recommend footwear that provides that provides ankle protection, such as boots.

Clothes You Don’t Care About  – Let’s face it, you’re probably going to get muddy and ruin whatever clothes you wear.  Please don’t come offloading in your Sunday best…

Driver’s License  – We don’t allow unlicensed drivers on the trip

Credit Card  – We do require a damage deposit of $250 per ATV and $500 per Side by Side.  This is refunded promptly upon the return of undamaged equipment.

Camera  – Bring at your own risk.  There’s lots of mud and water involved in this trip

Cell Phone  – Bring at your own risk.  Again, there’s lots of mud and water involved in this trip

Gloves  –   You’ll want these especially if it’s cold outside.  Think 8:00 AM trips in the fall.  Most of the guides wear light gloves (Mechanix, for instance) year round.  Hint hint.

Medical Items  –   If you have a medical condition, please bring necessary medical items. If you’re allergic to bee stings, bring your EpiPen. If you have asthma, bring your inhaler. Your guide will provide you with a safe place to store these items during the trip.

You are welcome to bring your own Motorcycle or Jeep!  However, you cannot bring your own ATV or Side by Side. Please call us for details.

We are located on the property of ACE Adventure Resort between Oak Hill and Fayetteville West Virginia. We are within 10 miles of all major rafting outfitters and resorts in the New River Gorge Area!

One Hour Ride

Virginia beach horseback riding tours.

Adventure down the beach with us from 26th Street under and through the Virginia Beach Pier all the way down to 10th and 9th streets and then back along the beach and through the surf as we experience nature at its best. This is an amazing Virginia Beach experience and perfect for first-time riders, experienced riders, family, couples, and everyone in between!

Horseback riding on the beach is a bucket list item for many travelers and we make it easy for you to check off. Explore Virginia Beach in a new, fun way with a horseback ride on one of our beautiful horses on your next Virginia Beach vacation!

• No experience is required.
• These rides are guided by at least one or two instructors at a time.
• Age requirements: At least six years old and older to ride a horse by themselves.
• Weight limit may not exceed 225 pounds.
• Prior to mounting, all customers will be matched based on their experience and comfort levels with horseback riding.
• We provide a three-stair mounting block making it exceptionally easy for getting on and off the horse.
• Everyone is introduced to their horses and receives a short lesson. Then we line up outside the corral, awaiting further direction from your guides.
• After meeting your guide and getting a short recap on how to safely handle your horses and things to watch out for while out on the beach, our professional photographer and guides lead you to the surf to take any requested professional photography shots. Note these are optional and are not required to pre-purchase.
• We can simply have your photo ready when you’re back from your adventure and you can decide at the end of your ride if you want to purchase this special memento.
