Can I smoke in my cabin during the cruise?

Angriya, the Mumbai to Goa cruise, is now open for bookings

It's official: after several delays, Angriya, the Mumbai to Goa cruise, will finally make its first commercial voyage on 24 October. We hope you've already taken a virtual tour , but before you book your tickets, here are all the things you should know.

How long is the cruise from Mumbai to Goa?

Angriya will depart from the Purple Gate of Princess Docks in Mumbai at 4pm and arrive in Mormugao in South Goa the next day at 9am. Likewise, the cruise will then depart from Goa at 4pm and arrive in Mumbai the next day at 9am.

What's the price of a one-way ticket?

Depends on the category of accommodation you pick:

Rooms: Starting Rs8250 per person, this is top-tier accommodation but may or may not come with an attached washroom. Some rooms come with big windows and portholes, others with no windows at all. They are spread across decks A, B, C and E.

Bunk Rooms: Meant to be shared by four, bunk rooms are priced at Rs7700. Expect windows, but no attached washroom. They are spread across decks A and B.

Luxury Pods: Single and double-occupancy luxury pods are available at Rs6650 per person. All pods are located on deck D and don't come with windows or attached washroom.

Dorms: No windows, no attached washroom, but the price is as low as Rs6300. Dorms are located at deck B.

Regardless of the cabin, your ticket price is inclusive of three meals: evening snacks, dinner and breakfast.

How can you book tickets for the cruise?

Are pregnant women and infants allowed on the ship?

Women are not permitted on board after six months of pregnancy. Meanwhile, infants below 12 months of age are also not allowed on board.

How accessible is the cruise for people with disabilities?

There are no elevators available, plus amenities (restaurants, bars, pool, etc) are located on different levels. But as per Angriya's website, the team is working on prospects to make the ship more accessible in the near future.

Are pets allowed on board?

No, pets aren't allowed on the Angriya.

What's the baggage allowance?

You are allowed to carry 25kg as check-in baggage (which—like on a flight—you can only access after disembarking) and one bag of 10kg as cabin baggage.

Is there Wi-Fi on the ship?

Strangely, there's no Wi-Fi available. Internet availability is subject to the mobile network.

Is smoking allowed on the ship?

Smoking is only allowed in designated areas. Smoking is strictly not permitted inside the rooms or any enclosed area.

In case of a medical emergency, is there help available on board?

All crew members are trained for medical emergencies and providing first aid. You are advised to carry your own medicines, but note that only sealed syrup bottles are allowed on board.

Day 1: Embarking on Costa Cruise From Bombay

• At around six in the evening, you shall be embarking on Costa Cruise, where elegance and comfort meet each other.
• Mumbai, can rightly be called the city of stars and dreams. From the Gateway of India to the various temples adorning the city, Mumbai makes you dream with your eyes wide open. The several Marathi delicacies to the rich culture of the city - Mumbai will leave you wanting for more.

Day 2: Reaching Mormugao in Goa

• The ship shall reach Mormugao in Goa around one in the afternoon.
• Take some time to explore the cruise - treat yourself to the spa or the swimming pool. Spend time with your loved ones as you watch the beautiful sunset from the deck.
• Mormugao in Goa, shall be a treat for all, as this sea port boasts of picturesque beaches and beautiful archaic monuments.

Day 3: At Mormugao in Goa

• Spend the day in relaxation as you enjoy the various amenities offered to you onboard. You could also go out for some sightseeing in Goa.
• Around twelve in the noon, the ship will depart for Mumbai.

Day 4: Reach Mumbai

• At around nine in the morning, you shall Mumbai and the disembarkation process shall start.

Additional information

• If you are an Indian national, then you need not worry about the visa requirements.
• Among the travel documents, aadhar card and pan card needs to be carried.
• Children, who are under the age of eighteen, are allowed to travel on the ship, only if they are accompanied by an adult. Children, on the other hand, who are below six months of age, are not allowed to board without an adult.
• There are several cabins from which you can choose namely, suite cabin, terrace with sea view cabin, oceanview cabin and interior cabin.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

• Cancellation charges shall be applied depending on the notice period between notification of cancellation and the date of stay at each place of accommodation within a booking. Every booking has their own cancellation policy and the same shall be shared with you at the time of the creation of booking.
• If cancellation are made zero to seventy hours before the trip, 100% charges shall be levied. If cancellations take place 72 hours before the trip, no charges shall be levied, unless in certain cases specified in the amendment rules, then 100% shall be charged if the number of clients decrease.
• The Company shall make proceedings for refund for those bookings which have been paid for in full provided those bookings are eligible for refund in accordance with the cancellation and amendment rules specified in clause 7.

Tour Advisory

• Although, there is no ideal time for you to take the cruise, it is advisable to take the cruise during the winter months, as it is a more comfortable time for off-shore excursions and there is a festive mood all around.
• Women who are expected to be 24 weeks pregnant during the cruise will not be allowed on board. Pregnant women should carry a certificate of their health and the health of their unborn child.
• If you are interested in swimming, then do ensure that you carry your swimming costume.

Some prefer to fly to Goa or they hop on a bus or train and travel overnight. While others prefer to drive in their own vehicles or hire self-drive cars.   Here are 10 interesting facts to know about the luxurious Angriya cruise:

  1. Angriya Cruise is a 7-deck, 131-meter long passenger ship built in the year 1997 (almost 20 years old). It once carried passengers from Tokyo to the islands of Ogaswara. Yes, there are some lovely Japanese elements left intact for you to spot!

  2. It is named as Angriya, which is taken from Admiral Kanhoji Angre, the 1st notable admiral of the Maratha navy and the great coral bank reef, named Angria bank between Maharashtra and Goa. Interestingly, Mumbai is also home to a naval establishment named after him, called INS Angre.

  3. The Angriya cruise will sail to Goa thrice a week except during monsoons.

  4. It will depart from Mumbai at 4:00 pm reaching Goa the next day around 9:00 am. From Goa, the Angriya cruise will depart at 4 pm and reaches Mumbai at 9 am, completing the travel journey in just 16 hours (non-stop). The journey timings are such that it allows you to get a taste of both sunrise and sunset during each trip.

  5. It will sail both ways between Mumbai and Goa, unfolding its coral diversity and royal sea forts along the way. The two embarking/destination docks being the Purple Gate of Princess Docks in Mumbai and the dock at Mormugao in South Goa.

  6. The luxury ship has 104 rooms, divided into eight different categories; from dormitories, deluxe rooms to luxury suites. The dormitory has bunk beds, while rooms have single and double beds. The cruise has luxury rooms on the underwater level as well.

  7. It is meant to ferry 399 passengers at a time and will have 67 crew members including hospitality and marine crew.

  8. Angriya has two restaurants. In addition to the delectable local cuisine of the Konkan region, Continental, Italian, and Chinese food is served at the two restaurants. The Ancora restaurant includes a coffee shop which is open round the clock. The other restaurant is Coral Reef, which provides glimpses of the sea via portholes.

  9. The cruise ship features an underwater-level spa, gym and an infinity pool. Better still, there are six bars and a lounge to let your hair down, so you can start the party well before hitting the shores of Goa.

  10. Other than being a passenger cruise liner, arrangements can also be made for a private party, a wedding event or an offshore corporate meeting.
