Frequently asked questions.
GuruWalk is an international community for pay-what-you-please walking tours that connects tourists with tour guides all around the world. Our mission is for you to be able to enjoy this type of tour in any place you can imagine.
The GuruWalk community is formed by "gurus" (local guides) who are open, attentive, fun people with great knowledge of the city and who will be your friends wherever you travel.
The other part of the community are the "walkers," or tourist who opt for this type of tour over the more traditional tours, who enjoy unforgettable experiences and most importantly, love to travel around the world doing guruwalks.
A "free walking tour" is a guided tour at a travel destination, where a local guide explains history, culture, and lifestyle. Currently, it is the first option that tourists choose when they visit a new city.
The concept can be a little confusing since "free" in English is a word that immediately makes you think free of cost. While becoming a part of the community, making a booking, or setting up a tour on the platform is 100% free, the traveler has to pay the guide at the end of the tour based on his experience. This concept is commonly referred to as a pay-what-you-please walking tour, because it empowers the client to pay based on their satisfaction with the tour and encourages the guide to always do their best.
At GuruWalk, we call them "guruwalks" so our walkers don’t get confused with the concept. Our intention is for them to understand the concept better and then give a fair remuneration to their Guru, so that we can all keep enjoying this type of tour all across the world.
Look for the city that you want to visit and then choose from all the guruwalks that are available, the different themed experiences, the different neighborhood and the various types of activities to find the best option for you. Book the tour for free through the online platform, receive the email confirmation with all the info and you’re ready to go!
All that’s left to do is show up to the guruwalk to enjoy and learn about other cultures in a fun and entertaining way. Don’t forget to tip your guru’s good work and have a great time.
The star question that the walkers always ask! You choose how much to give, you can take into consideration how satisfied you were with the tour and how much you can afford.
Our gurus are the best tour guides who are at it day after day, who are creating fun and entertaining tours so you can get to know the most important aspects of a city, they know a lot about the city you’re visiting and they’ll help you to have the trip of a lifetime.
This is why most walkers on GuruWalk generally give between 10 o 20€ per person, but as we said, you can choose to give more or less depending on your experience.
If you’d like to join our community of international gurus, all you have to do is click the link here. We’re waiting to get to know you!

Breaking news, we talked to sebastian maniscalco about his extended ‘it ain’t right’ tour.
Listen up, devout Sunday sauce (ahem, gravy ) lovers, “old-school Italians,” and stand-up comedy fans.
Sebastian Maniscalco just announced he’s extending his ongoing ‘It Ain’t Right’ tour into 2025 with new dates at arenas all over North America.
On the second leg of the nationwide run, the 51-year-old comic will swing into Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on March 7, Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center on March 8 and Belmont Park, NY’s UBS Arena on March 15.
This year, he’s slated to play five (!) back-to-back shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden from Sept. 18-22 — which gives him the title for the venue’s most consecutive performances and most shows ever performed by a comedian — and then drop into Albany’s MVP Arena on Oct. 3, Rochester’s Blue Cross Arena on Nov. 15, Buffalo’s KeyBank Center on Nov. 16 and Syracuse’s OnCenter on Nov. 17.
“The production is a lot different than what we’ve seen in the past from me,” Maniscalco shared with the New York Post in an exclusive interview about the tour. “What I decided to do was reconfigure the stage and bring it lower to the ground in case I want to dip into the stage and come back. It’s a more intimate environment for me as a performer.”
At all shows, Maniscalco highlights the absurdities of modern life like nonexistent manners, soaring prices, and the chaos of spending every waking moment on social media.
“Comedy is something people are yearning and thirsting for, especially with a political campaign on the horizon and people so divided,” he added. “My comedy is rooted in family and observation, and I’ve always believed that if people are coming to a comedy show, they want an escape from the world news, the killings, the politics — this, that, and the other thing. That’s what I pride myself on.”
‘It Ain’t Right’ shows will also touch on pop culture (which isn’t common for the comedian), along with content that’s sure to resonate — regardless of whether or not you’re Italian.
“I once did a bit about going to an Italian wedding with cash and, when I was in the editing room, I thought, ‘ I don’t know if I want to keep this in the special because I’m not sure if the broader audience ,'” Maniscalco shared. “But I discovered from comments online that it resonated with people who came from Greek families or other cultures. From there, I realized I can talk about my personal life, my Italian father from Sicily and my culture for the masses.”
Can’t wait to see Sebastian live?
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘It Ain’t Right’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the newly added 2025 dates is Friday, Sept. 20.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Christmas & Coco Keeling Islands
Christmas Island has 5km of the shorelines and tropical weather. And hosts the Red Crab migration annually from October to December.
Cocos Keeling Islands consist of 27 coral islands encircling a lagoon. Each island is made up of white sand, plenty of palm trees and surrounded by sparkling blue water.
- Lord Howe Island
Lord Howe Island is Just Paradise. Immerse yourself in the spectacular surroundings and experience some of the world’s best day hikes, snorkelling on the coral reef, hand-feeding fish on Ned’s Beach and much more. This multi award winning, World Heritage-listed paradise is less than a 2 hour flight from Sydney or Brisbane and now is the perfect time to visit.
- New South Wales
NSW’s cosmopolitan capital city is the gateway to the rest of the State. Enjoy the incredible waterways of the beautiful natural harbour, relax or surf on some of Australia’s best beaches and admire the iconic Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Enjoy a beach holiday or whale watching. Try skiing in the Snowy Mountains. Explore World Heritage rainforest, charming historic towns or ancient outback landscapes.
- Norfolk Island
Norfolk Island offers all the things you love about the South Pacific, and a whole lot more. Around every bend you’ll find a new surprise or twist that will make you rethink your notions of paradise. Our beaches are some of the Pacific’s best, with impossibly clear waters sheltered by teeming coral reefs just a short swim from the sand. But you’ll also discover moody cliffs where waterfalls tumble into the sea and dramatic headlands with views that go on forever.
- Northern Territory
The Northern Territory is vast, extending from the centre of Australia’s map, near Ulu r u and the town of Alice Springs, to the coastal capital city of Darwin and its neighbouring islands. Strong indigenous cultures offer thriving art practices, ancient storytelling and deep spiritual tradition, while diverse national parks provide striking landscapes. Above all, the Northern Territory is fun. To venture beyond Australia’s big cities to the outback of the Red Centre and the Top End tropics is to launch yourself into an out-of-the-ordinary travel experience.
- South Australia
South Australia is a diverse state made up mostly of dramatic arid and semi-arid country known as the outback. There are areas of greener land towards the beautiful coastline and along Australia’s longest river, the mighty Murray. The vibrant capital city, Adelaide, was a planned colony rather than a convict settlement like most other Australian state capitals. The state is known for its wines, produce and major festivals and sporting events.
Home to just 500,000 people, the island of Tasmania is as intimate as it is beautiful. Its gorgeous capital city, Hobart, is home to one of the world’s most intriguing art galleries, while northern Launceston is one of the few cities on the planet to be wrapped around a gorge. Along the way you’ll pass welcoming farm-gate producers, cellar doors and restaurants specialising in local produce so fresh it’s the envy of the culinary world.

Discover the living masterpiece that is the Great Barrier Reef, stay at one of the world’s best hotels or shop up a beachside storm on the cosmopolitan Gold Coast. With the foodie, cultural and sports-loving city of Melbourne as its hub, experience Victoria’s diverse adventures all within just a few hours drive. Enjoy intimate encounters with Australian wildlife, one of the world’s great coastal drives, beautiful gardens and relaxing mineral springs, plus superb food, wine and coffee throughout the state.
- Western Australia
Western Australia is Australia’s biggest state, covering nearly one-third of the continent. Its capital city, Perth, is home to a vibrant bar culture and breathtaking beaches. Just offshore from Perth is Rottnest Island, home of the cute quokka – a small, furry marsupial that appears to smile in selfies. Western Australia is also where you’ll find the acclaimed Margaret River wine region, the ancient Kimberley region, the romantic outback beach town of Broome, and World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef, arguably the best place on Earth to swim with whale sharks.
