Experience Fayetteville launched the Fayetteville Ale Trail in August, 2013. This self-guided tour gives both visitors and locals a glimpse into the unique craft brewery and cidery culture of Northwest Arkansas.

More than 150,000 passports have been printed so far, with 2,000 given out in the first two weeks and 10,000 in the first eight months. The Ale Trail has garnered national media attention, industry awards and a boom in culinary tourism in the area.

There is no cost to participate, and those interested can pick up a Fayetteville Ale Trail passport at the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center on the Downtown Square, located at 21 S. Block Ave. Passports are also available at any of the participating breweries, and stamps can be collected at each location. Completed passports can be mailed or brought to the Visitors Center for a free prize.

I’m doing a craft beer tour from Cleveland out to the West coast and was extremely happy to have stopped at diamond Bear where the owner was very gracious and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The beers were very good, as was the food. I had a great evening, exactly the type of evening I was planning on when I started this trip.

Service was outstanding! Great beer and food. Really enjoyed our lunch experience.

Beers here were very good. I love amber beer and Irish reds. This one had a red that was smooth and refreshing! Great atmosphere and a brew museum! I have never seen that before in a brewery! Indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking! A good place to visit for good brews!

We visited on 5/22/2021 – got to take a tour of the brewing facility and learned a ton about their history and culture. You can tell they love Arkansas and Little Rock. Russ, Joe, and Britney were incredible hosts as we chatted about their processes and got to try some beer flights. While they make some great beer, they also have a line of hard seltzers that are also quite tasty. They also have a kitchen onsite and their food is… boooom delish. We’ll be back.

Sat on the patio on a beautiful afternoon and enjoyed conversation with other guests. Had the double IPA and got a Fresno club sandwich to go. Great sandwich, great beer, excellent service!

Craft brew locally brewed with finest quality grains and no adjuncts, chemicals, or additives ever. Our brewhouse staff has a combined 75 years of experience, and it shows!

Visiting Arkansas’s Breweries

When planning my trip to Arkansas, I was surprised to hear how many craft breweries there are. While mostly contained to Northwest Arkansas and Little Rock, I was able to visit three during my few days in town. I would have loved to check out more, but I figured 3 in one day all by myself was too many. And

Luckily for visitors, Arkansas has progressive beer laws that allow you to visit the taproom, which offers more than sample sizes, and lets you purchase beer to go in growlers or six-packs. Fayetteville has the  Fayetteville Ale Trail .

You can get a passport at your first brewery and get stamps along the way. When you fill your passport, you can send it in for a prize. It includes a mix of traditional breweries and brewpubs, but the ones I included below are solely breweries.

Bike Rack Brewing, Bentonville

Bentonville itself is quiet in terms of nightlife, so I sought out a local brewery that was a short walk from my hotel, 21C Museum Hotel .  Bike Rack Brewing Co.  is located, appropriately enough, on the bike trails that loop around the city in the arts district.

It’s a hangout for bicyclists or just people who live and work in the area. There’s a pub upstairs that serves their brews, but I went straight to the source. At the bar are a few games for guests and the chalkboard denotes the day’s selections.

All beers are named for their surroundings, like the Slaughter Pen Ale, named for a nearby park. The taproom is open Monday to Wednesday from 5 to 10 pm, Thursday to Friday from 3 to 10 pm, Saturday from 12 to 10 pm, and Sunday from 1 to 7 pm.

Beer to Try: Rusty Tricycle was my selection for the evening, an American-style amber ale.

Core Brewing and Distilling, Springdale

Located in Springdale outside of Fayetteville,  Core Brewing & Distilling Company  is a laid-back brewery in a warehouse. In fact, I wasn’t sure I was in the right place when I arrived, but as soon as I saw the sign, I was reassured. They have a second taproom in nearby Rogers.

On tap are over ten of their signature brews, along with a few small-batch and specialties that you can only get at the brewery. The taproom is open Monday to Friday from 3 to 9 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 9 pm. Tours are also available. You can also purchase their beers in cans, sold at the brewery and to neighboring states, or take a growler with you.

Beer to Try: The Arkansas Red Ale is by far the most popular, but the Oatmeal Stout was my personal favorite.

Ozark Beer Company, Rogers

I made a special trip through Rogers just to visit  Ozark Beer Company . The brewery was only open for growler fills during my visit, but I could tell it gets lively later on. They offer live music and other entertainment for guests.

They’re open daily for growler fills, from 10 am to 5:30 pm during the week, but the tasting room is open on Saturdays from 1-7 pm and Sundays from 2-6 pm.

Beer to Try:  As a dark beer lover, I have to side with the Cream Stout. I even brought a growler back home! I also lingered over the Onyx Coffee Stout.

Superior Bathhouse Brewery, Hot Springs

Located on Hot Springs ‘ Bathhouse Row, Superior Bathhouse Brewery  is a former bathhouse that uses thermal spring water to create its beer. Opened by a transplant from New Jersey, it’s the only brewery to be located inside a national park and one of the few to use natural spring water. It’s also a restaurant that serves lunch and dinner.

Beer to Try: Beez Kneez is their Kolsch infused with local honey and basil.

Rock Town Distillery, the state's first (legal) distillery to open since Prohibition, is a must-visit for a craft-cocktail made with its award-winning lineup of whiskeys, vodkas, and gins. Here’s a little trivia for next time you’re at the bar – Little Rock has almost as many breweries per capita as Seattle, Washington (arguably the Mecca of American craft brewing). Plus, it doesn’t rain all the time here.

Whether you like a hefeweizen, an IPA, a pale ale, a stout, a porter, a Vienna lager, a doppelbock, triple or even a quadruple ale, there’s a craft brewery in Little Rock with a brew just for you.

Little Rock’s craft brewing scene dates back to 1991, when the Legislature had the wisdom to make brewpubs legal. In 1993, Vino’s Pizzeria became Vino’s Brewpub, the city’s first (and still one of our favorites).

Best of all, you don’t have to be a big spender to enjoy truly gourmet meals and beers here. From neighborhood diners to white-tablecloth fine dining establishments, “local” is a thing here. A BIG thing. So pull up a barstool, order a flight, a pint, a growler or a crowler(a unique two-pint can of your favorite draft) and dive into Little Rock’s delicious craft beer scene.

Diamond Bear Brewing Company

When it was established by founders Russ and Sue Melton in 2000, Diamond Bear Brewing Company became the first Little Rock-based production brewery the city had seen in 15 years. Formed with the mission of crafting beer unique to Arkansas, all Diamond Bear’s brews are created with the tried-and-tested European method of using two row malted barley, hops and yeast combined with Arkansas water. This has proved a successful formula that has seen the brewery scoop gold awards at both the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup. Beer fans can tour Diamond Bear’s brewery and sample its year round and seasonal brews at its onsite ale house.

Bentonville’s first craft brewery Bike Rack Brewing Co set up shop in 2014 in the city’s downtown arts district. Since then it has gained a firm following with local beer fans and cyclists passing by on the city’s bike trails that inspired the brewery’s name. Formed by five local beer enthusiasts, Bike Rack Brewing Co produces four core brews, including its Urban Trail Golden Ale and Angus Chute American Stout, alongside a number of rotating seasonal and specialty beers.

Fossil Cove Brewing Co

Part of Fayetteville’s growing brewing scene, Fossil Cove Brewing Co was founded in 2012 and thanks to a successful start and a great deal of interest from local restaurants and pubs, the brewery tripled its beer output in just two short years. From its taproom open Tuesday to Sunday, Fossil Cove Brewing Co offers between nine and 11 year round, one off and seasonal beers available by the pint, flight or growler. Its popular seasonal is Whizzle, a white Indian pale ale brewed with Calypso and Belma hops and flavored with hints of pear and citrus, which is ideal for summertime.

Stone’s Throw Brewing

Set up in 2012 by four beer enthusiasts who met at the Central Arkansas Fermenters home brew club, Stone’s Throw Brewing has transformed an old warehouse in Little Rock’s MacArthur Park Historic District into one of Arkansas’ best nano-breweries. This brewery specializes in small batch brews taking in both traditional and experimental recipes. Favorites include the Shamus Stout, a classic stout flavored with hints of coffee and Jean Petit Pear, and a cider that pays homage to Arkansas’ historic apple and pear orchards, which can be enjoyed at its taproom and beer garden alongside eats from local food trucks.

Ozark Beer Company

Located in Rogers in the heart of the Ozark Mountain range from which it gets its name, Ozark Beer Company is the brainchild of owners’ Lacie Bray and Andy Coates and inspired by their years working in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest’s brewing scenes. Officially opened in 2013, Ozark Beer Company strives to create beers that reflect the Ozarks, hard working, honest and eclectic, and currently produces five handcrafted beers. These includes its light bodied American Pale Ale and Onyx Coffee Stout, a collaboration with Arkansas-based Onyx Coffee Lab flavored with Guatemalan French roast coffee.

Apple Blossom Brewing Company

Established in Fayetteville in 2012, Apple Blossom Brewing Company is a ten barrel brew house whose 250 seat brewpub makes it the largest of its kind in the state of Arkansas. Apple Blossom’s signature brews range from classics like its flagship Armstrong American Pale Ale to experimental varieties like its Sturdy Hippie Indian Pale Ale, fermented with the brewpub’s executive pastry chef Cody Johnson’s 14-year-old sourdough strain. Visit Apple Blossom’s brewpub for flights of beer served alongside tasty American pub grub fare.

Gravity BrewWorks

Located in the heart of north central Arkansas just outside Big Flat, Gravity BrewWorks is the brainchild of two avid home brewers. Award winning head brewer Bill Riffle and assistant brewer Tony Guinn, who after years dreaming of setting up their own brewery, took the leap in 2013. From its brewery and tasting room, Gravity BrewWorks offers a range of small batch brews made using hops from across the globe. These include American, Belgian and German varieties such as BelHop, a Belgian -inspired India Pale Ale, and BeeBop Honey Porter, brewed with honey sourced from the locally based Big Creek Honey Farm .

Lost Forty Brewing

Founded in 2014, Little Rock-based Lost Forty Brewing is one of the Arkansas craft brewing scene’s most recent additions. Led by head brewer Omar Castrellon, a veteran of Arkansas brewpubs, and Nick Barron, a former brewer at Chicago’s Goose Island Beer Company, Lost Forty strives to craft beers that are uniquely Arkansan. This is particularly evident with brews like its Love Honey Bock, made with Arkansas honey. Lost Forty has an onsite tap room where beer fans can sample its brews freshly tapped alongside a range of tempting eats, from homemade bratwurst to smoked brisket, designed to perfectly complement Lost Forty’s beers.

Saddlebock Brewery

Founded in 2012 and located on its owners’ beautiful horse farm just outside of Springdale, Saddlebock Brewery is one of northwest Arkansas’ foremost destination breweries. An eco-friendly brewery, Saddlebock crafts it beers in an onsite barn using a manual hoist and gravity fed system to transport its grains, and uses the barn’s true cellar to ferment its beers in a naturally cool environment. Craft beer culture in Northwest Arkansas was born in Fayetteville, and today it's grown to include a range of microbreweries as diverse as they are delicious! You'll currently find eight microbrewery and nanobrewery operations crafting local beer in Fayetteville, AR. It's up to you to find the public taproom that has the atmosphere that fits your style! No matter where you end up, you'll find that our breweries have personalities as distinct and varied as the beers they produce.

It’s impossible to choose a favorite, so we humbly suggest you try them all. Arkansas-based Flyway Brewing Company has landed in Fayetteville! The popular brand from North Little Rock has claimed their stake in Northwest Arkansas, opening their first taproom in the area in a building that a former Fayetteville Ale Trail member once called home. Even though new beer is moving in, the location has retained its perks. Flyway is trailside, granting easy access to cyclists, and the brewery’s wrap-around patio – which has always been popular – continues to expand, leaving plenty of room for friendly dogs and families to visit. The kitchen has been put to good use too, with a full menu always available at the brewery!

This small but mighty brewer of independent beer is a powerhouse in the Northwest Arkansas craft beer scene! With upwards of a dozen rotating beers on tap in the tasting room, Fossil Cove will keep even the most intrepid beer-drinker busy! Fun fact: the brewery itself was named for a fossil laden cove on the bank of Beaver Lake where the water in their beer is sourced! Fossil Cove is also responsible for the south's premier outdoor winter beer festival, Frost Fest , which takes place each February in Fayetteville, AR.

Fayetteville locals will be happy to tell you how much they love this down-to-earth spot located directly on the Historic Fayetteville Square. After living in St. Louis, the home of Anheuser Busch, we became pretty acquainted with the beer scene in the city including a number of craft and microbreweries. I mean, we’ve even heard people even call Budweiser, St. Louis tap water because the beer scene is so huge there. We often would visit breweries with friends for a quick bite to eat, trivia nights, and birthday parties.

So when we decided to move to Northwest Arkansas we were a little worried we were going to miss hanging out at local breweries. However, after a quick search on Google, we were surprised to find out that Northwest Arkansas has a number of locally-owned microbreweries and there is even a self-guided brewery tour that you can go on called the Fayetteville Ale Trail which is free to participate in!

Here are what we think are the best breweries in Northwest Arkansas all of which are included on the Fayetteville Ale Trail plus a few extras so make sure to request a passport before you start to visit so you can turn it in for a prize once completed!

The Best Breweries in Fayetteville

Fossil cove brewing co..

Established in 2012, Fossil Cove Brewing Co. focuses on creating quality craft beers of the American and Belgian varieties. The brewery gets its water from nearby Beaver Lake, thus naming their beer after Fossil Cove which is located there.

You can buy Fossil Cove beers at a number of different locations all over Arkansas, but their Fayetteville tasting room is their primary location. Our favorites are the Paleo Ale which is an American Pale Ale and the Belgian-style T-Rex Tripel when we can get our hands on it but if you happen to be visiting in the summer and see their Orange Cream Ale on tap don’t miss out on it!

Crisis Brewing Co.

Crisis Brewing Co. not only has great beer but a great story behind its brand. Liz and Sean Slape created Crisis Brewing Co. after what they considered to be a “mid-life crisis.” They wanted to create a brewery where you could come and enjoy the company of others over a cold pint of beer and I’d say they succeeded.

While I know IPAs can be hit or miss for some, the Identity IPA is the perfect “less hoppy” IPA if you’re wanting to try one out. Otherwise, I recommend the Bolands Irish Red Ale or the O-Face Cream Ale.

Boston Mountain Brewing

Boston Mountain Brewing is one of the breweries in Northwest Arkansas that we have yet to visit. But I’ve heard that it’s a place where you can feel right at home while enjoying one of their craft beers or a cocktail. I’ve been especially interested in trying their Peaches ‘n Cream Milkshake IPA, the Kolsch, and Nugget Pale Ale.

West Mountain Brewing Co.

Located on the historic downtown Fayetteville Square, West Mountain Brewing Co. is Northwest Arkansas’ oldest brewery. We first enjoyed some beer at West Mountain Brewing Co. when we went to meet with friends at Tiny Tim’s Pizza, another local Fayetteville favorite. We really enjoyed their Blonde Ale, the seasonal Oktoberfest, and the fruit beers like the Blood Orange IPA and Chocolate Cherry Stout for a richer pour.

Apple Blossom Brewing Company

When we first moved to Northwest Arkansas we went on a date at Apple Blossom Brewing Company to grab dinner and a beer flight and were so sad when they permanently closed! However, hope was restored when we saw they were reopening under new ownership in 2021.

As of now, we don’t know what changes this will entail, but we’re excited to see what their new menu will look like plus see if their beer menu will stay the same or change. We’ll keep you posted on when you can re-add this to your list of breweries in Northwest Arkansas.

Columbus House Brewery and Tap Room

Of these breweries in Northwest Arkansas, Columbus House Brewery and Tap Room is one of the smallest. But while they may not produce as much beer as some of the other local breweries, they still have a number of terrific beers to try! I recommend the Yellow Card Golden Ale which is light and refreshing or the Nutty Runner Brown Ale which has a slightly roasted flavor. One of the seasonal brews I’d like to try at Columbus House is the Twinter Ale, which is a Chai spiced cream ale. It just sounds really interesting and unique!

JJ’s Beer Garden & Brewery

JJ’s Beer Garden & Brewery is Northwest Arkansas’ best beer garden. They have a number of fabulous beers to choose from, a large menu with American food favorites, a live summer concert series, and a number of outdoor lawn games and other activities. If you are looking for a chill place to hang out with friends, this is definitely the spot! As far as their beers go, we recommend JJ’s Raspberry Wheat for a nice, crisp summertime beer and the Hefeweizen.

The Best Breweries in Springdale

Black apple.

Black Apple is a little different than the other breweries in Northwest Arkansas because it is actually a cidery, the first cidery in Arkansas to be exact. They produce flavored hard ciders using no artificial flavors or preservatives. I love their year-round Hibiscus Cider but am also a big fan of the seasonal flavors like the Raspberry Passion, Pineapple, and the Melon which is great as a slush!

Core Brewing & Distilling Company

Core Brewing & Distilling Company is definitely one of our favorite breweries in Northwest Arkansas because of its variety and fun limited releases. I am a big fan of coconut anything so I really enjoy their Toasted Coconut Brown Ale but the Razorback Red Ale is also a great choice and one of their most popular.

Recently they added a hand-crafted spiked seltzer to their ensemble called Scarlet Letter which currently comes in three signature flavors and is great for those who don’t enjoy beer or want something a little lighter and different.

Saddlebock Brewery

Saddlebock Brewery is considered to be the first production brewery in Northwest Arkansas and prides itself on providing quality small-batch European-style beers with environmentally-conscious practices. I personally like the Arkansas Farmhouse Ale which is made with organic rice and grit that is milled at the local War Eagle Mill in Rogers. Another one I recommend trying is the Dunkleweiz which is dark malty beer.

The Best Breweries in Rogers

Hawk moth brewery.

Hawk Moth Brewery is located in historic downtown Rogers that creates as they put it “craft old-world beer styles with a modern American twist.” Some of the unique brews they have are the Interurban which is a light, wheat-based beer, and the Somewhere In Between which is a caramel rye amber ale. After getting a few beers check out some of the local stores in Downtown Rogers and grab a bite to eat. We recommend Hammontrees if you haven’t been there before!

Ozark Beer Company

Another Northwest Arkansas brewery located in downtown Rogers is Ozark Beer Company . They have all the typical beers you’d find at a brewery like ales, stouts, APAs, and IPAs which we would both recommend. But if you have the chance, definitely try one of their small-batch beers that are typically seasonal or there for a limited time. If you like one of the small-batch beers don’t leave without buying a growler of it to go!

Natural State Beer Company

Natural State Beer Company is the perfect spot to stop on a bike ride on the Razorback Greenway and has a fabulous patio that overlooks the lake while enjoying one of their European-style lagers. If you want a lighter beer go for the Greenway Light Lager or Pilsner but if you want something more hoppy try the IPL which is similar to an IPA but more smooth.

New Province Brewing Company

New Province Brewing Company has a fabulous brewery and taproom in Rogers. The thing I love about them the most is that they’re always looking to add unique flavors to their brews always making for a fun experience. One of the most interesting is LAVISH which is a lavender-infused IPA with the perfect amount of lavender flavor.

Another is the Cafe Muy Especial which is a Mexican coffee stout brewed with a number of spices and chipotle peppers to add a slight kick! For year-round flavors, I recommend the Space Suit which is a citrusy ale, or the Commoner, an amber cream ale.

Rendezvous Junction Brewing Co. 

Rendezvous Junction Brewing Co. was started by Mike Peerson, who after moving from Seattle, a craft beer haven, found that Arkansas was in need of craft breweries so he decided to start his own with Levi, a friend of his who was also a beer fanatic. They now have over 70 special recipes for their beers including the Vanilla Coffee Porter brewed with local Onyx Coffee.

Location: 2001 S Bellview Rd suite 2, Rogers // MAP Hours: Currently they are working on building their own taproom but you can try a number of their beers at Bentonville Tap Room.

The Best Breweries in Bentonville

Bike rack brewing co..

Bike Rack Brewing Co. got its name for the large biking community in Northwest Arkansas. Did you know that Bentonville is actually the mountain biking capital of the world?! Bike Rack is one of the largest local breweries in Northwest Arkansas having multiple locations and it’s also one of our favorites to visit for local events and music.

We especially enjoy sitting out on one of their patios on a nice day after a long bike ride. We’ve gotten a number of flights from here and enjoyed all of the beers we’ve tried, year-round and seasonal, but I’d say that the Oatmeal Stout and the Amber Ale are my two favorites.

Bentonville Brewing Co.

Bentonville Brewing Co. started in 2015 and recently opened a new location with a spacious taproom in the heart of Bentonville. They currently have 24 taps in their tasting room including year-round and seasonal beers and are working to create a menu with German-style pub food.

Some of our favorites include the 1872 Old Fort Lager, Homewrecker IPA, and Soul Shine Kolsch. Bentonville Brewing Co. is also a great family-friendly brewery with a playground and small pump track for kids to enjoy while you are able to take some time to relax.

The Best Breweries in Siloam Springs

Ivory bill brewing co..

Unfortunately, we haven’t made it over to Ivory Bill Brewing Co. yet but it’s another local brewery in Northwest Arkansas we’ve heard great reviews about. Ivory Bill is located in downtown Siloam Springs which is just 30 minutes away from other areas of Northwest Arkansas. I’ve peeped at their Instagram a number of times because I love the interior of their brewery and I always enjoy seeing the adorable photos of Honey, the brewery dog. 😉

The Best Breweries in Eureka Springs

Eureka springs brewing co..

Eureka Springs Brewing Co. has small-batch beers, wines, and ciders available in their beer garden where you can also enjoy the outdoors and games like disc golf. They strive to make this a cozy space to relax and you can even bring your own food with you to enjoy with any of their beers. The Wild Wheat and Black Gold are two beers that are very popular so that’s where I’d suggest starting.

This family-owned brewery was founded by two U.S. Army officers, Vernardo “Tito” Simmons and Eric Whealton, who had a passion for brewing beer. They started out homebrewing in their garage before eventually opening their brewery in 2013.

Notable beers from Dirtbag Ales Brewing & Taproom include their flagship beer, the Dirtbag Double IPA, which is a bold and hoppy beer with a smooth finish. Their beers have won multiple awards, including the 2019 Silver Medal in the Belgian-Style Tripel category at the Great American Beer Festival.

2. Bright Light Brewing Company

Huske Hardware House is a historic brewery located in downtown Fayetteville. One of Huske Hardware House’s most notable beers is the Huske Gold, which is a German-style Kolsch that is light and crisp with a hint of fruitiness. The brewery also offers a range of other year-round and seasonal beers, including a chocolate porter and a pumpkin ale.

Over the years, Huske Hardware House has received numerous awards and recognition for its beers. In 2014, their Oktoberfest beer won the Bronze Medal in the German-Style Marzen category at the Great American Beer Festival. They were also named Best Brewery in Fayetteville by the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 2018.

You'll find food trucks parked in the lot outside offering great grub before or after you sit down for some authentic and unique beers. Take a tour of the brewery before you try what's on tap for the whole experience. The beer is great here, but what might be better is the family environment. With an outdoor play area for kids and large beer garden, it is great for the family.

Bike Rack Brewing is Bentonville’s oldest brewery, continually crafting new ales using local inspiration and quality ingredients. If you like dark beer we recommend give the Coler Coffee Stout a try! It is a winter seasonal with espresso, crafted in collaboration with Airship Coffee. Known for its overlap with biking, you'll find beers here named Slaughter Pen, Urban Trail, and the Derailleur.

Social Project Brewing Co. was founded on love for craft beer as well as community. If you like hop-heavy brews, you'll enjoy what Social Project has to offer. Go with friends or with the intention of meeting new ones, because in tandem with sensational beers, growing social circles is what this place is all about. They have an active rotation of beers, always trying variations. In our opinion, this might be one of the most overlooked and underrated breweries in NWA.

Fossil Cove Brewing Co.

The people behind Fossil Cove Brewing Co. love NWA and this little corner of the world, naming their brewery after a fossil-laden cove on the shores of Beaver Lake (the brewery's water source). They have a solid selection of 8-10 beers annually with seasonal rotations. If you're feeling like some grub, we definitely recommend a pizza from the food truck Wicked Wood Fired Pizza on site. Our beer of choice is the T-Rex or Birch Ave Blond.

West Mountain Brewing Co .

West Mountain Brewing Co. is right next door to Tiny Tim's Pizza on the Historic Downtown Square of Fayetteville. This brewery is Northwest Arkansas' oldest brewery and has become a Fayetteville tradition with a wide selection of top-notch beers.

Apple Blossom Brewing Company

Apple Blossom Brewing Company, named after the state flower, is the largest of its kind in the state of Arkansas with 8,500 SF of space and over 250 seats. There's a large patio, full bar, and great food so there's room for whatever time you're looking to have. It's also along the Greenway and walking distance from Lake Fayetteville trail making it a convenient location.

Crisis Brewing

Crisis Brewing is one of the more unique breweries in the area, nestled in a patch of trees almost hiding it from view in the summer months. It was named "lovingly after a midlife crisis" and created for the love of the craft of brewing and community. Crisis is the type of place only locals know about and serves up some of the best beer in the state. Hot take, this is the best beer in NWA.

Columbus House Brewery and Tap Room

Also right off the bike trail, Columbus House Brewery and Tap Room is an intimate, 3 barrel space with rotating and permanent taps run by NWA natives and University of Arkansas alum. The space is friendly and right next to Fayetteville Funky Flea Market. Columbus is perfect stop along the Ale Trail and encourages cyclist and runners to stop by at their leisure.

Core Brewing & Distilling Co.

Core Brewing & Distilling prides itself in crafting beer with the diligence and pride of small-town America. If you're looking for somewhere that embodies southern vibes and hospitality, this is your place. Core is the official craft brewery of the Razorbacks and has their own beer to show for it. All in all their beer is solid, but what they might most be known and loved for is their Scarlet Letters.

Saddlebock Brewery & Restaurant

If a brewery has won the Gold Medal at the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival, and its beer has won multiple national and international awards, does it require any other introduction?

Try the locally brewed, finest quality Pig Trail Porter for a perfect balance of sweet and bitter and the award-winning Victory (pale ale) to see if the beer is worth the praise it constantly receives.

A group of locals based in Northwest Arkansas homebrewing in their free time gained so much popularity for their flavors that they decided to expand. Taking inspiration from local ingredients, Bike Rack brewery in downtown Bentonville brews its unique and seasonal ales on-site. Aiming to provide a memorable beer experience to all visitors and community members, Bike Rack is a great spot for friends or family to craft beers and enjoy talking or playing games.

BRB’s beer list can easily cater to a diverse palate. If traditional flavors are not your thing, the highly fragrant and mildly bitter Slaughter Pen Ale is just what you need to try. Angus Chute American Stout, on the other hand, has a rich aroma of dark roasted to almost burnt malts, so if that’s your poison, drop in and enjoy.

A tall stein of Sausagefest Hefeweizen from Stone’s Throw Brewing pairs perfectly with schnitzel at The Pantry Crest. It has a refreshing flavor with a slight hint of cloves and bananas and is available year-round.

If you love craft breweries, this will be your new favorite place to hang out. A brewery with a true Fayetteville vibe, with moderate prices, the owners are focused on improving the quality of the offered beers. The large tap rooms at the Fossil Cove Brewing Company have plenty of options for you. The brewery managed to triple its beer output within two years of being founded. They must be doing something right!

Brewed with Belma hops and Calypso, the popular seasonal Whizzle is a summertime favorite of locals. It is a white Indian pale ale flavored with citrus and pear hints.

One of Arkansas’ hidden gems, accessible through an off-the-beaten-path, Gravity BrewWorks is a locally-owned nano brewery headed by the award-winning Bill Riffle. Together with the assistant brewer, Tony Guinn, Riffle plans on changing the brewery game in north-central Arkansas. It is a must-stop if you are headed north from central Arkansas or on your way to Buffalo. With everything brewed on the premises, their beer is not packaged, but growlers are available to go. They make their lagers and handcrafted ales in small batches, so if you’re traveling from afar or it’s peak winter season, don’t forget to call ahead.

The most popular of their beers, Brown-Eyed Girl is a medium-bodied brown ale whose flavor rests between amber and porter. It does what it’s supposed to do without being overly hoppy.

I didn't just have a very Milwaukee Day Sunday, I had a very Milwaukee weekend.

I started it out at the Admirals game Friday night. Did you see that fight?! How about that win?! They beat the Chicago Wolves in a 5-4 shoot-out.

On Saturday, I visited the Milwaukee County Zoo for the first time in a long time. The highlight: Seeing a big ol' bear chilling in a hammock. If you're planning on going to the zoo too now that it's warming up, here's a guide .

With Sunday feeling like summer junior, I went for a long walk around the lakefront — by Veterans Park, through Lakeshore State Park and beyond.

Let’s talk business

Metcalfe's Market  has been family owned for four generations. While that'll soon be changing, much will remain the same . Its stores — including one in Wauwatosa — will be bought by national grocery store operator and distribution company SpartanNash. The food solutions company plans to keep the employees, the branding, the storefront and the "core shopper experience" the same, per a news release. Tim and Kevin Metcalfe, Metcalfe's president and vice president, respectively, will join SpartanNash as associates. "We are incredibly grateful for the support of our communities for more than a century, and we are confident that with SpartanNash, guests at Metcalfe's Market will continue to enjoy the same high level of service, quality and variety of products they have come to expect here at Metcalfe's," Tim said in the release.

We Energies electric customers, a price hike could be coming your way . If a new rate increase proposal receives approval, residential electric customers would pay about $10 or $11 more a month next year, followed by an increase of $7 to $8 in 2026. What would cause the bigger bills? The Milwaukee-based utility's renewable energy construction projects, electric grid enhancements and other initiatives.

Before Luke Combs kicked off his "Growin' Up and Gettin' Old" tour in Milwaukee last week, he went on another kind of tour. One that is quintessentially Brew City. Out and about

This Monday is Earth Day ! That means sustainable celebrations, environmental education opportunities, neighborhood cleanups and more — all with the goal of promoting a cleaner environment. Here's a look at the activities happening in our area.

We're roughly 100 days out from the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival. We talked about this year's main headliners — The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jelly Roll and Hardy — a while back. But this week, H-D released more of what you can expect from this year's fest , including special museum displays and happenings, Nitro Circus performances, tours, demos and more.

Don’t go hangry

The brothers behind Señor Gordito's and Chubby's Cheesesteaks and their cousin plan to bring a food truck park to 1652 N. Water St. Paying homage to their Palestinian roots, they plan to call it Pali Park. The park will feature eight food trucks offering a diverse array of food, including Señor Gordito's, a Cuban truck and a deli truck, plus a bar. The owners are aiming for a mid-to-late summer opening.

L'incontro is set to make its debut in the former home of Tavolino MKE Wednesday. The menu — Italian cuisine with a global influence — will include items like sisig pizza, sweet potato ricotta dumplings, lamb shank, spinach girella, whole fish cake, lemon basil rice and roasted carrots.

Here are the talkers

Comparing this year's first quarter to last year's, crime is down in Milwaukee by 10% , according to Milwaukee Police. Looking at those time periods, homicides were down 39% and nonfatal shootings were down 27%. The city's homicide clearance rate is up from 74% at the start of last year to 83% this year. This all comes after a historic national increase in 2020. “We’ve got every reason to applaud the latest numbers,” Mayor Cavalier Johnson said. “Across the board, Milwaukee is heading in the right direction … but now is certainly no time to relax.”

The Bucks are heading into the first round of the NBA playoffs . Third-seeded Milwaukee will be taking on the six-seeded Pacers in a best-of-seven series, which kicks off Sunday at Fiserv Forum. The circumstances ? Not ideal. The Bucks had a rough end to the regular season, and Giannis Antetokounmpo's status remains up in the air after suffering a calf muscle strain last week. According to national writers and oddsmakers, these are the Bucks' chances of winning the title for the second time in four years.
