The Importance of a Reliable Battery for the Bushnell Tour V3

As an avid golfer, I know the importance of having reliable equipment on the course. One of my most essential tools is my Bushnell Tour V3 rangefinder. However, even the best equipment can fail if it doesn’t have a dependable power source. That’s why having a reliable battery for my Tour V3 is crucial for my game.

First and foremost, a good battery ensures accuracy and consistency in distance measurements. The Tour V3 uses advanced laser technology to provide accurate readings, but without a reliable battery, the device may not function properly. This can result in incorrect yardages and affect my club selection and overall performance on the course.

Moreover, having a fully charged battery allows me to use my rangefinder for an entire round without worrying about it dying midway. This is especially important during tournaments or when playing multiple rounds in one day. With a reliable battery, I don’t have to constantly check if my rangefinder is still operational or worry about running out of power.

Additionally, using a compatible and quality battery for the Tour V3 ensures its longevity. Poor quality batteries can damage the internal components of the rangefinder and shorten its lifespan. By

Which battery for Bushnell rangefinder?

Answered by Craig Sanders

As a professional golfer, I have had the opportunity to use various Bushnell rangefinders over the years. One thing that remains consistent is the requirement for a CR2 Lithium Battery. This specific battery is the recommended option for all Bushnell rangefinders, including popular models like the Tour V5, Tour V4, Tour V3, and Tour V2.

I remember the first time I needed to replace the battery in my Bushnell rangefinder. I was in the middle of a round, and suddenly my rangefinder stopped working. It was quite frustrating, but luckily I had a spare CR2 Lithium Battery in my bag. I quickly replaced the battery, and my rangefinder was back up and running in no time.

Since then, I have made it a habit to always carry a spare CR2 Lithium Battery with me during my rounds. These batteries are widely available and can be easily found at most golf stores or online retailers. They are relatively small and lightweight, so they don’t take up much space in my golf bag.

One thing I appreciate about the CR2 Lithium Battery is its long-lasting power. I have found that a single battery can last me several months of regular use. This is important for me as a professional golfer, as I rely on my rangefinder for accurate yardage measurements during practice and tournaments.

If you own a Bushnell rangefinder such as the Tour V5, Tour V4, Tour V3, or Tour V2, it is essential to have a CR2 Lithium Battery on hand. These batteries are reliable, long-lasting, and readily available. Don’t let a dead battery disrupt your round – be prepared with a spare CR2 Lithium Battery.

I was hoping to replace the battery of my Bushnell Hybrid Laser GPS, but above it states it is “Not replaceable. Contact Bushnell” Can you help me?

I was having trouble after recharging. It would turn off on its own after playing several holes. Last week it would not turn on at all and I couldn’t use the GPS to get distance to flag.

Hi, Mardie. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Bushnell Hybrid. You didn’t say how long you have owned it, but contact Bushnell directly Monday-Thursday, 7 AM to 7 PM and Friday 7 AM to 5 PM, all times CST. US Customers Toll free: 800-423-3537 Phone: 913-752-3400

Make sure you have your rangefinder in hand when you call.

I hope they can help you solve the problem, but if not, you might consider buying a backup portable charger like this one (affiliate link) –>

If you are not in the US, here is their Contact page: http://www.bushnell.com/global/customer-service/contact-us Also, here is their repair page which may give you some idea of what to expect: http://www.bushnell.com/global/customer-service/global-customer-service-product-repairs

I HAVE A bUSHNELL RANGE FINDER. on THE FRONT AT THE BOTTOM IT SAYS NEO. oN THE BACK IT SAYS FC CE. DO YO HAVE A BATTERY FOR THIS?

Hi Bernie. There are several products in Bushnell’s GPS line that are in the NEO family.

  • Bushnell Neo
  • Bushnell Neo+
  • Bushnell Neo+ Golf Watch
  • Bushnell Neo X Golf Watch
  • Bushnell Neo XS Golf Watch
  • Bushnell Neo Ion Golf Watch
  • Bushnell Neo Ghost

Unfortunately, there is not OEM replacement battery for any of these models. If your unit happens to be under warranty, contact Bushnell. Occasionally, you can find non-OEM batteries for some of these products on Amazon or eBay.

I have a Bushnell Neo xs watch love it for 2 years but won’t charge how do I get a new battery for it thanks

Bushnell says it should only be replaced by a qualified technician. Here is the Bushnell Contact page if you want to ask them for options: http://bushnellgolf.com/contact/

If you don’t get any resolution with Bushnell, you might try taking it anywhere where they replace watch batteries. At my local flea market, there is a watch repair shop that I would try it.

If you don’t have any luck with either of those efforts, you can find some very affordable options on our current Best Golf Watch list .

Thanks for stopping by GolfRangefinderShop.com and let us know if you find a solution!

I need a new battery for my NEO+ rangefinder. It’s model number is is 368150 Bushnell won’t have any contact with any client to help at all. Any help will be appreciated

Unfortunately, Bushnell says it needs to be replaced by a qualified technician. They just don’t say where you can find one. Have you tried contacting Bushnell here? https://www.bushnellgolf.com/contact/

do you have a replacement battery for a Bushnell yardage finder model 36 8150 PSE160 0mAb 5-90Wh HC10G03 H623759

Hi Michael, To my knowledge, there is not a replacement battery for the Bushnell Neo+. Unfortunately, that’s the case with most, if not all, current golf GPS models. If the charge isn’t long enough to get you through a round, you could try a portable power bank * to keep it going.

I have a Bushnell Hybrid Rangefinder that’s GPS battery will no longer hold a charge. Can this battery be rep, aced? By whom?

The original Bushnell Hybrid battery wasn’t replaceable as far as I know. The newer model in 2018 should be the 3-Volt Lithium CR2 .

Is the battery in an older Bushnell FC CE rangefinder GPS watch replaceable? If so, what is that battery and where can it be attained?

I don’t believe FC CE is a model number, so I’m not sure which Bushnell rangefinder you have. If it’s a GPS, I don’t think Bushnell intends for those batteries to be replaced. However, there are some non-OEM batteries available to purchase on Amazon and some DIY videos on YouTube . You may be able to discover which model you have and check the manual here .

I have a Bushnell Neo Ghost Model 368222 I need to replace the battery but all the batteries on sale seem to be for the 2015 model. Are they compatible? What are my options?

I checked Bushnell’s website and they only show one product manual for several models of the Ghost, including yours. (The web address in the Product Manual Linke includes the model numbers.) The manual says the battery should only be replaced by a qualified technician. That said, I did find the video below on YouTube. The comments indicate that most people couldn’t get the cover off, but the video makes it look easy. Also, here is the battery * shown in the video.

Thanks for the help, did get a replacement battery via Amazon (battery came via Germany) Managed to open the case without any damage but putting it back together it was not a “click” fit, easily remedied with a little silicone adhesive.

Hi Jim. Glad to hear you had success! Thanks for letting us know.

what battery for bushnell tour v3

The TOUR V3 WITH PINSEEKER emits invisible, eye safe, infrared energy pulses. The TOUR V3's Advanced Digital microprocessor and ASIC chip (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) results in instantaneous and accurate readings every time. Sophisticated digital technology instantaneously calculates distances by measuring the time it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder, to the target, and back.

The ranging accuracy of the TOUR V3 is plus or minus one yard/meter under most circumstances. The maximum range of the instrument depends on the reflectivity of the target. The maximum distance for most objects is 700 yards/640 meters while for highly reflective objects the maximum is 1000 yards/914 meters. Note: You will get both longer and shorter maximum distances depending on the reflective properties of the particular target and the environmental conditions at the time the distance of an object is being measured.

The color, surface finish, size and shape of the target all affect reflectivity and range. The brighter the color, the longer the range. Red is highly reflective, for example, and allows longer ranges than the color black, which is the least reflective color. A shiny finish provides more range than a dull one. A small target is more difficult to range than a larger target. The angle to the target also has an effect. Shooting to a target at a 90 degree angle (where the target surface is perpendicular to the flight path of the emitted energy pulses) provides good range while a steep angle on the other hand, provides limited ranging. In addition, lighting conditions (e.g. the amount of sunlight) will affect the ranging capabilities of the unit. The less light (e.g. overcast skies) the farther the unit's maximum range will be. Conversely, very sunny days will decrease the unit's maximum range.

GETTING STARTED

Remove the battery cap by lifting the battery cap tab and then rotating counter clockwise. Insert a CR-2 3-volt lithium battery into the compartment positive end first, then replace the battery cap.

NOTE: It is recommended that the battery be replaced at least once every 12 months.

what battery for bushnell tour v3

Your TOUR V3 is constructed with an adjustable eyepiece (+/- 2 Diopter Adjustment) that allows one to focus the LCD display relative to the image. Simply rotate the eyepiece until the reticle and object distanced to are both in focus to your eye.

While looking through the 5x eyepiece, depress the POWER/FIRE button once to activate the in-view Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Place the aiming circle (located in the center of the field of view) upon a target at least 5 yards away, depress and hold the POWER/FIRE button down until the range reading is displayed near the bottom of the in-view display. Crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle indicate that the laser is being transmitted. Once a range has been acquired, you can release the POWER/FIRE button. The crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle will disappear once the POWER/FIRE button has been released (i.e. the laser is no longer being transmitted).

Note: Once activated, the LCD will remain active and display the last distance measurement for 30 seconds. You can depress the power button again at any time to distance to a new target. As with any laser device, it is not recommended to directly view the emissions for long periods of time with magnified lenses. The maximum time the laser is transmitted (fired) is 10 seconds. To re-fire, press the POWER/FIRE button down again.

Your TOUR V3 's LCD incorporates illuminated icons or symbols that indicate the selected unit of measure, when the laser is actively firing, when a target has been acquired, and targeting modes. A summary of these features follows:

The TOUR V3 can be used to measure distances in yards or meters. The unit of measure indicators are located in the lower right portion of the LCD. To select between yards and meters, press and hold the POWER/FIRE button. The display will begin to cycle through the setup options: Yards w/JOLT, Yards, Meters w/JOLT, Meters (for details on the JOLT feature, see "About JOLT") . When the units and JOLT mode you want to use are displayed, release the POWER/FIRE button to select it. If you are changing from yards to meters, a change in unit of measure will be indicated by the illumination of the M for meter indicator while the Y for Yard indicator is turned off. If you are changing from meters to yards, the opposite will occur. The TOUR V3 will return to the last unit of measure setting used each time the unit is turned on.

Crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle indicate that the laser is being transmitted. Once a range has been acquired, you can release the POWER/FIRE button. The crosshairs surrounding the circle will disappear once the POWER/FIRE button has been released (i.e. the laser is no longer being transmitted).

what battery for bushnell tour v3

Press the POWER/FIRE button to turn the unit on. Next, align the aiming circle reticle onto the flag that you want distance to. Then, press and hold the POWER/ FIRE button and move the laser slowly over the flag or desired object until a circle surrounds the flag indicator. If the laser beam recognized more than one object (i.e. flag and background trees), distance of the flag will be displayed and a circle will surround the PinSeeker indicator informing the user that distance to the flag (i.e. closer object) is being displayed in the LCD (as seen below). There may be times when only the laser beam only sees one object in its path. In this case, the distance will be displayed, but because more than one object was not acquired, a circle will not surround the flag indicator.

PinSeeker

TIP: While pressing the POWER/FIRE button, you can move the device slowly from object to object and intentionally force the laser to hit multiple objects to ensure that you are only displaying the closest of the objects recognized by the laser.

Once the device has shut off, the unit will always default back to the last mode used.

About JOLT The new JOLT feature allows you to enable (at your option-see "Unit of Measure Options") a vibration signal (similar to setting a cell phone to "vibrate") that will be felt when the Pinseeker technology indicates the flag has been detected and the distance to it is displayed in the LCD.

what battery for bushnell tour v3

How Slope™ Works

Press the POWER/FIRE button to obtain distance to the flag or other objects. Once the range is acquired, release the POWER/FIRE button. Once you have released the power button, a degree of angle and compensated range will be displayed beneath the standard distance as seen below.

How Slope™ Works

The Advantage of Slope Edition The distance to flag A in the drawing below is 162 yards. It is also 162 yards to flag B although it is on a slope. However, if you were to play this hole as 162 yards, the ball (X) would fall short of the hole/flag because you did not take slope into account.

The Advantage of Slope Edition

Magnification and Coatings The TOUR V3 features 5x magnification and Multi-Coated optics. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is mounted within the optical system and when activated, displays a reticle for targeting, yards/meters, and Mode indicators. Inherent in the manufacturing process are small black spots that appear in the optical system. These are a natural characteristic of the LCD and cannot be fully eliminated in the manufacturing process. They do not affect the distancing performance of the unit.

Molded into the bottom of your TOUR V3 is a threaded tripod mount that will allow you to attach to the following Bushnell Golf Accessories: Golf Cart Mount: Attaches the rangefinder to your golf cart for easy access. Quick release clamp attaches to a golf cart and can be easily removed afterwards. Push/Pull Cart Monopod: Steady your hand with this telescoping monopod. Simply attach rangefinder to the monopod and insert into cart umbrella holder.

Gently blow away any dust or debris on the lenses (or use a soft lens brush). To remove dirt or fingerprints, clean with a soft cotton or microfiber cloth, rubbing in a circular motion. Use of a coarse cloth or unnecessary rubbing may scratch the lens surface and eventually cause permanent damage. For a more thorough cleaning, photographic lens tissue and photographic-type lens cleaning fluid or isopropyl alcohol may be used. Always apply the fluid to the cleaning cloth – never directly on the lens.

Bushnell Tour V3 Review

Full Bushnell Tour V3 Review

Bushnell is a well-regarded maker of high-end optics used for a variety of sporting purposes. The Bushnell Tour V3 rangefinder adds to the brand’s positive appeal with a truly versatile and effective golf rangefinder. The Tour V3 is the successor to the very popular Bushnell V2 and promises to improve upon an already highly regarded golf rangefinder that is accessibly priced but not cheap in any way.

Bushnell Tour V3 Rangefinder Review

General Overview

The Bushnell Tour V3 offers an exceptional 1,000-yard range that fully covers just about any reasonable distances measurement a golfer could use. It is accurate to within 10 yards at up to 1,000 yards, which is plenty good for sending the ball where you need it to go. When you are within 300 yards, accuracy improves to within a half a yard or meter of the target.

The viewfinder gives you 5X magnification so that you can get a very clear view of any hazards, traps, trees or other obstacles by looking through a large 24 mm objective lens. An included scan mode gives you a continuously updated distance reading to various objects on the hole and presents the information on an LCD display.

You can use a scan mode to quickly view the golf hole that you are about to play and get various distance readings to the tree line, water hazards, sand traps and other objects that might interfere with your par-or-better score. That makes it possible to set up a much better approach shot to the green without slowing down overall play. The lower your score, the faster your round goes, too.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The Bushnell Tour V3 improves upon the prior generation V2 with a lighter and more svelte design that better fits your hand while putting the rangefinder power at your fingertips. The rangefinder measures 2.8 inches tall by 4.2 inches long by about 1.6 inches wide and weights just 6.7 ounces.

Use is exceptionally simple with a single button located on top of the rangefinder enabling you to cycle through user modes. Its light and ergonomic design makes it a perfect companion for a round of golf on a hot a humid summer day. A polymer body and waterproof build help it to work even on a cold and misty morning on the golf course or at the driving range.

  • Quick scanning and 5X magnification with large viewing optic.
  • Comfortable ergonomic design.
  • Long battery life.
  • Waterproof body.
  • Slope Edition measures angles to within 1 degree of accuracy.
  • Accuracy within a yard not as exact as competing brands.
  • Does not use a rechargeable battery.
  • No slope compensation on the standard V3.

PinSeeker and JOLT Technologies Ensure Accuracy

The best golf rangefinders include a feature that ignores other objects to quickly lock in on the flag and pin so that you get a quick and accurate distance reading to the hole. The Bushnell Tour V3 does to, too, with its PinSeeker technology that locks in on the flag and gives you the correct distance to the hole instead of a background object.

The JOLT technology is just a fancy way of saying the V3 gives you a gentle but noticeable vibration when the rangefinder locks onto the pin. The vibration helps you to know you are getting the correct reading without having to overthink what is going on and instead can concentrate of choosing the proper club and swing to get the ball to where you need it to go.

The JOLT technology is an improvement over the Bushnell Tour V2 model and helps to affirm the new edition of the Bushnell’s Tour rangefinder series continues to improve upon an already very popular golf rangefinder that does just about everything as well as you could hope.

Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Edition Technology

The Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Edition gives you the angle reading to the hole and tells you the effective distance after analyzing the slope change. When a rangefinder gives you a straight distance to the hole it does not bother with any change in elevation. The slope technology in the V3 gives you the slope reading to within 1 degree of accuracy and then compensates for the elevation change to tell you what the effective distance is to the hole.

If you are working on an approach shot to the green the playing surface either rises or fall, it will have a very telling effect on your golf shot. When the terrain rises to a slightly higher elevation, the Tour V3 tells you what the elevation of incline or decline is and then gives you the compensating information so that you know how far the ball needs to travel to get to the green .

It is important to note that if you want the slope-compensating technology in the V3, you must buy the V3 Slope Edition. The standard Tour V3 does not include it because the slope compensation is banned in organized tournament play. Most rangefinders that offer the slope compensation enable you to turn it off to make it legal for play. The V3 Slope Edition does so as well, but those who do not want to worry about it can just opt for the standard Bushnell Tour V3 and save some money.

Affordable and Accessible Bushnell Tour V3 Battery

The Bushnell Tour V3 battery is a standard CR2 type commonly found in retail stores around the globe. The battery provides substantial power that users say will power up the rangefinder for about a year, depending on how often you go to the range or play rounds of golf. The included Bushnell Tour V3 battery power indicator tells you when you have plenty of power on tap or the battery is getting weak and needs a replacement.

The batteries generally are sold in packs of two, so it is easy to obtain and keep a fresh spare just in case. It the one in use suddenly shows it is weak and you are unsure it will last the entire round of golf or your trip to the range, you can put in the new one in just a few seconds and continue as intended.

Should You Buy One?

The Bushnell Tour V3 is a definite improvement in design and function over the prior V2 model that many golfers considered to be the best of the Bushnell line. The V3 and the optional V3 Slope Edition rangefinders are great tools to make any golfer’s game better and a generally good value.

Bushnell Tour V3 Review – Does This Laser Rangefinder Deserve Praise?

Charging around and looking for distance markers, then calculating how far out you are from the pin, wastes time and detracts from the fun of golf. Fortunately, like with everything else, technology has solved this problem for us, with range finders.

The initial GPS rangefinders had their flaws as their accuracy was more of an estimation than an accurate measurement. However, the advent of laser rangefinders has brought the accuracy of some devices on the market to within one yard of the actual distance.

A laser rangefinder that golfers constantly praise for its accuracy is the Bushnell Tour V3 laser range finder. Let’s see how deserved this praise is.

Bushnell Tour v3 Slope Laser Rangefinder

Features & benefits, 1. bushnelltour x, 2. callaway 300 pro laser rangefinder, 3. mileseey pf210 laser rangefinder, final thoughts, related articles, things to consider before buying a laser rangefinder.

Before considering which laser rangefinder is best suited for your needs, you may want to consider whether the laser option is necessary in the first place. If you are on the hunt for a device that gives you the yardage to the front, back, and middle of the green, then a GPS option is sufficient.

If you want more specific information such as the exact yardage to the flag, then keep reading, the laser rangefinder is what you seek. These are a few key factors to consider before going out and buying the next rangefinder you see.

To prevent the hassle of researching all the laser rangefinders on the market, set yourself a budget, and work from there. If your budget is higher, you will likely be able to purchase technology that is more accurate and provides you with more advanced information in terms of your target. That said, some golfers just want a simple measurement.

Determine the environment in which you will be using your laser range finder and the distances that you will be working with. If you only use the rangefinder on the range to help you improve your distance control, then you may not need a device with long-range. If you only use it on the course, then make sure your laser rangefinder is equipped to cover the distance you require.

Think about the space that you have left in your golf bag , as well as the size of your hands. For optimum functionality, you need to hold the pathfinder as still as a sniper. Make sure your device can fit comfortably into your hands, to maintain a stable grip, and achieve better focus.

The point of a pathfinder is to give you the distance between your ball and the target, so you would expect them to all be accurate. However, it varies, and while some devices can achieve accuracy within one yard of the actual distance, others have been known to be off by over 30 yards.

Given the variety of elements found on a golf course, it can take pathfinders some time to identify the flag or your target. In some cases, a device may mistake leaves behind the flagstick for your target and provide an incorrect measurement.

In other cases, manufacturers use Jolt technology, which creates a vibration in the device when it locks onto the target. This informs you that the device has identified the flag and measured the correct distance.

If you opt for a device with slope, you will receive accurate yardage readings, even on courses that are loaded with hills and undulating fairways and greens. If you regularly play on a flat parkland-style course, then a slope option is not necessary, however, if your home course is a links, you are going to want to use the slope feature to your advantage.

Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Edition Golf Laser Rangefinder, White

  • Accurate to within in 1 yard
  • Locks onto the target easily
  • Range of 1000 yards
  • Jolt technology notifies you when it has measured distance to the flag.
  • Easy to hold and stabilize
  • Older version of laser rangefinder
  • Not waterproof
  • It takes longer to open the case to get the rangefinder out

The Bushnell Tour V3 standard edition is another example of golf tools created to make the lives of the everyday golfer easier. From my perspective, the accuracy of laser pathfinders is in another world in comparison to GPS. On some courses, you don’t have the option of being a few yards too long or too short, you need to be on the money.

Caddies on tour often use laser rangefinders in practice rounds to know the exact distance to each location of the green come competition time.

Whether you want to work on your distance control when you are on the range. Or you are looking for dead accuracy on the course, this is a technology that may be up your alley.

Pinseeker Technology

We have all become accustomed to Bushnell’s Pinseeker technology in their laser range finders. It allows you to zero in on the flag, and blur any other objects out, giving you the distance only to the flag. This dramatically increases the accuracy of your distance measurements.

Jolt Technology

Jolt technology enhances the performance of Pinseeker technology. Once you have zeroed in on the flag, you will feel two brief vibrations. This is to inform you that the Tour V3 has read the distance to the flag, and the information displayed on your screen is the accurate measurement.

As a result, you have peace of mind that you have the right read, and can hit your shot without fear of going long or coming up short of the green.

Ergonomic Design

The expert ergonomic design of the Tour V3 makes it an easy device to handle and stabilize when aiming at your target. It was designed to fit perfectly into your hands and give you a better grip and control over it.

Zipper Case

I did mention above that the case was one of the cons of the Tour V3. My reasoning was more to do with how annoying it is to get the device in and out of the casing every few minutes when I am on the course.

That being said. The case does an excellent job of protecting your device and preventing it from falling out of your bag.

While the case of the Tour V3 is sturdy and designed to prevent you from losing your laser rangefinder, Bushnell’s made a device that is also durable and able to withstand a drop or few.

Bushnell Tour V3 Laser Range Finder Alternatives

No products found.

The Tour X is a newer edition laser range finder than the Tour V3. It is designed with many of the same features as the older Bushnell model, including the brand’s award-winning jolt technology.

Tour X laser range finders are equipped with stage technology. This gives you an interchangeable face to switch from slope mode in practice rounds to standard in tournaments. As per the USGA rule 14-3, “multifunctional devices are permitted during tournaments, but may only measure distance, not the environment around it.

The more you use the slope feature in practice rounds the better you will become at judging the distance of undulated course designs, without the assistance of the slope feature.

The other feature that this range finder has, which was not found on previous models, is the light setting. You can change the light setting from dim to bright, depending on the time of day that you are playing. This helps your device achieve optimum magnification to better identify the pin, from dusk until dawn.

This is a rangefinder for the golfer who wants more detailed feedback regarding their distance. Mid to low handicap players that are looking to improve their distance control may want to consider the Tour X.

Callaway Golf 300 Pro Slope Laser Rangefinder

The 300 Pro laser rangefinder is an excellent example of Callaway’s commitment to innovation. This device includes the same features as most other laser rangefinders, including pin seeking technology.

Callaway has employed the use of their Pin Acquisition Technology (P.A.T), which helps you to accurately lock onto the pin from 300 yards away. The maximum range of the device is 1000 yards, useful for navigating the hazards in play on par 5’s and longer par 4 holes.

The scan feature on this laser rangefinder enables you to scan the hole in front of you and receive distances to a variety of targets simultaneously. You will get distances to bunkers, water hazards to keep you away from trouble at all times.

This is another laser rangefinder that is more suited to the serious golfer, looking for detailed information to help them with their shot selection.

The PF210 laser rangefinder has the lowest range of the devices we have looked at. The maximum range is a little over 650 yards, which shouldn’t be a problem if you only want the distance to the target of your next shot.

This is another laser rangefinder that is equipped with slope mode, to help you receive more accurate distance readings, that factor in your environment. It also comes with a flagpole lock feature, which is effectively Mileseey’s version of pinseeker technology.

The PF210 is a pocket-sized device, which is easy to hold and stabilize. Giving you faster and accurate yardage measurements to your target. It also powers down after 8 seconds to save battery. This is a rangefinder that has three modes. Normal, scan, and pin.

In normal, you turn on your device aim at your target and press the power button to get a reading. Scan mode allows you to continuously scan your surroundings to get real-time distances to various targets. Finally, Pin mode picks out the flagstick and gives you a direct measurement of the bullseye.

Bushnell’s continue to show why they are regarded as the best in the laser rangefinder market. While there are several newer rangefinder models available on the market, this device still gets the job done.

The biggest benefit of the Bushnell Tour v3 Slope Laser Rangefinder is that it helps players improve their distance control. This can benefit all handicap golfers, that play on courses with tight greens that offer no room for error.

The device will give you accurate readings to within one yard, allowing you to swing easy, and land the ball close.

It is also a suitable option for those players who are looking to move away from on course distance markers or GPS devices. While it may be an older generation product from Bushnell’s,  its accuracy, ergonomic design, and jolt technology, still make it a product worthy of consideration.

If you are looking to make the move onto a laser rangefinder, to help improve your distance control, and accuracy around the course, take a look at Bushnell Tour V3 here .

Bushnell Tour V3 Jolt Standard Edition Review

The Bushnell Tour V3 Jolt Standard Edition is a classic golf rangefinder that has PinSeeker Technology with JOLT Technology to really affirm your confidence while out on the green. You have the flexibility of ranging out to 1000 yards and 400 yards to the flag. With multi-coated lenses, 5X magnification, and tournament legal status , the Tour V3 will serve you well on the green.

The Tour V3 Jolt is a very popular rangefinder and is an improved version of the Tour V2 with its addition of the Jolt feature.

Even though it’s a new model, it’s raked in a ton of the golfing crowd with a fantastic rating online. It has hundreds and hundreds of reviewers, with a large amount of them giving it a perfect rating.

If your next rangefinder buy is going to be based off reviewer remarks, then the Tour V3 is your next credit card purchase.

Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Edition Review

bushnell-tour-v3-slope

With multi-coated optics, 1000 yard distances, 400 yard distances to the flag, and 5X magnification, you’ll be a pro golfer by the end of the day.

The Tour V3 Slope rangefinder is exactly the same as the Tour V3 Standard in design, specs, and construction. The only difference in the Slope version is the built-in angle compensation calculator that allows you to get distances with angle values whether it’s uphill or downhill shots.

With the slope feature, you can accurately adjust your swing and correctly select the right club to make the shot. For a relatively reasonable price of about $50 more, you can have this extremely well rated and well reviewed rangefinder with slope.

  • Multi-coated lens

Bushnell Tour V3 Jolt Q&A:

The V3 Jolt rangefinder has PinSeeker technology that can find and lock onto a flagstick up to 400 yards. It can even range and lock onto other targets up to 1000 yards.

Say, the bunker faces, mounds, and perhaps the caddy of the group in front of you that just happens to be wearing a bullseye…

Although the Jolt feature is the crowd pleasing aspect of the Tour V3, it can be turned off if you don’t like it or if you find it somewhat distracting.

The short interval of vibrations are actually just an additional confirmation that the rangefinder has locked onto the target. Even without the vibrations, you’ll know the rangefinder has successfully attained target acquisition when you receive a distance reading.

Other than the fact that an accurate reading is confirmation of target acquisition, the Jolt also provides another visual confirmation in the form of a small flag icon with a circle around it.

When this icon is displayed on the screen, it means the rangefinder successfully locked onto the target with PinSeeker technology. You should note here, the icon isn’t target discriminatory, meaning, it will show up when the unit locks onto any target, not just a flagstick.

This rangefinder doesn’t have an official scan mode . Don’t be so critical just yet.

Although it’s technically not listed as a feature on the actual Bushnell website, there’s an automatic scan mode that’s always on.

As you pan the course while you fire the laser by keeping the button depressed, distances will intermittently update for about three to five seconds until it locks onto the target. PinSeeker will give you the distance of the nearest target which is usually the flag. So, your “scan mode” has limited efficiency.

Since PinSeeker is always turned on, you’re not going to be able to get a further distance than your target unless you re-fire the laser button. Only then can you pan the course and distances will intermittently be displayed until it locks onto a target again.

It’s pretty inconvenient, but Bushnell has done away with scan mode in some of their latest products to the market.

The Tour V3 isn’t considered waterproof or submersible. Although the battery compartment is sealed off with a Posi-Thread battery door, it’s still only rain-proof or water-resistant.

Some Bushnell golf rangefinder reviews have people swearing up and down that it works just as well in the rain as it does in dry weather. That may be good enough for you, but I’d say you might want to make sure you have a towel or case close by for when those rain clouds are dark and menacing.

Noteworthy Features:

  • PinSeeker Technology for closest target acquisition
  • Jolt Technology confirms target acquisition with short vibrations
  • Slope Technology for angle compensated values (Slope Edition only)
  • Accurate to -/+1 yard
  • Multi-coated lens for enhanced brightness and contrast
  • Built-in Accessory Mount
  • 2 Year Bushnell Warranty

Our Verdict on the Tour V3

To ping up the strokes, the Bushnell Tour V3  Standard and Slope editions are excellent laser rangefinders for on the off the green. However, battery issues seem to leave people in the dark. Make sure you have spare power with you for those moments you need it most.

Comparing with other brands, the Leupold GX-3i2 is darn close to the Tour V3 in terms of features and functions. It finds the flag, locks onto the flag, and has an OLED display. It sure is nice

But, Bushnell is a worthy in their own right of being a competitor in the golf laser rangefinder market. Just aim, ping, and feel the jolt!

Bushnell Tour V3 Review: Slope and Standard Edition Golf Rangefinder

Well, today, we came up with the classical rangefinder  Bushnell Tour V3 Review . The best golf rangefinder with maximum flexibility comes to introduce now. Perfectly suitable for both short and long-distance ranges up to 400 to 1000 yards.V3 has enough capability to give the maximum accuracy even in 1 yard.

It comes with Pinseeker and Jolts technology that gives a clear vision in the green golf ground. It serves you with 5x magnification and multi-coated lenses that make you capable of seeing your golf target.

Bushnell Tour V3 Review

Bushnell Tour V3 is the successor of the V2 rangefinder that comes with extra Jolt technology features that meet modern era needs. When it is activated, it generates a vibration for confirmation of setting the target. But if you don’t like Jolt technology, you can turn it off at any time.

According to my and other reviewers, this technology is appreciable that other GPS rangefinder devices lack. This new model gets a massive number of reviewers just after its introduction, and they give it a stunning positive rating. Its rating is still surprisingly increasing among the crowds.

If you have set the target to buy a reviewer remarks rangefinder, then Bushnell Tour V3 will be your next credit card purchase.

If you are a beginner and don’t have previous experience to buy the best reviewer rangefinder

Don’t get panic.

We are presenting you with a comprehensive Bushnell Tour V3 Review so that you can purchase it without any doubt.

As discussed earlier, The Bushnell tour v3 is the latest version of v2 with optimum technology but budget-friendly. It is almost $100 less in price than v2 . None of the other rangefinders can beat this in terms of price, range finding, speed, and accuracy. We found it the least expensive , even in all laser devices tested. It will give you quick reading without getting verification, which is another fantastic feature.

We can not describe its features in a single or two paragraphs. Let’s discuss each feature in detail.

The accuracy provided by the Bushnell tour v3 is highly acceptable. It can measure short distances of 1 yard and long distances of 1000 yards very accurately. It gives worth to your money and gives incredible accuracy for measuring any distance, even hazards, water, and sand traps.

A decent measuring unit with consistent results comes to an end here. Bushnell itself takes 40 readings and not found a minor missed flag of 1 yard.

The outer shell of Bushnell tour v3 is made with a white plastic body with black accents. It is purely a plastic made product and does not use any metal anywhere. After using it, you can store it in the carry case that can be clipped with your golf bag for quick access.

The case can be opened up to 35 degrees. It also protects your laser rangefinder v3 by moving your golf bags. After reading the Bushnell tour v3 review, it seems to be the most durable GPS rangefinder on the golf course. Bushnell v3 tour Jolt is a water resistance rangefinder, so it is easy to use in the rainy season. It comes with a 1-year money-back warranty.

If we talk about budget, then you find this product the most budget-friendly. The expected range is $199 to $249. A product with so many features at the least price is rarely to find in the market.

Definitely, it is a budget device with brilliant features.

Size and Weight

The Bushnell tour v2 is 8 x 4 x 6 inches, and the weight is 1.15 pounds. So, it is convenient and easy to carry a GPS rangefinder.

Battery Life

Bushnell Tour V3 has a durable and much improved long-lasting battery. You never regent on your decision of choosing it based on battery life. There is a single CR 2-3-volt lithium battery inside it.

You can aspect a 20-hour battery lasting when Jolt technology is turned on. So it can easily be increasing by deactivating the Jolt technology. Bushnell itself recommended changing the battery every year.

Easy To Use

Bushnell tour V3 is easy to use golf rangefinder with a colorful screen that shows reading very clearly. If you are a beginner and have never used this rangefinder before, You might face some operator error, but after a couple of trying, you will be happy to get the ideal rangefinder. It needs a firm adjustment of the =/-2 diopter eyepiece. It can easily be adjusted by picking one hand and adjusting the eyepiece with another while looking inside the viewfinder.

How it Works

Bushnell tour V3 is easy to use laser rangefinder. Whenever you want to read the distance, you have to press the power button. When you are ready to set the target, hold the primary button, and leave the rest of its lense until it measures the target. After that, release the button now. It will automatically turn off after every 30 seconds of setting the target.

Frequently Asked Question

Can the Jolt feature be turned off?

Yes, It can easily be turned off by just a single tape if you don’t like this feature or want to save your battery for a longer run.

The vibration produced by Jolt technology is just a confirmation that the rangefinder has read the distance and set the target. But this is not necessary, V3 can lock the target without using the Jolt feature.

Are there any other confirmation features available with the Tour V3?

Yes, The confirmation feature of setting the target is available in the Tour V3 rangefinder. The confirmation of setting a target is also determined by showing a small flag circle on the color screen.

Is the rangefinder waterproof?

Yes, the V3 rangefinder is waterproof, and you can use it even on rainy days without any hassle. So it can be used in any weather condition.

Our Verdict

We have completely given a Bushnell Tour V3 Review, and it will make you capable enough to buy this by getting confused. If you are searching for a small rangefinder that is easy to travel, this would be your next pick.

But if you are searching for a slope feature, then Bushnell Tour V3 with Slope is another best pick for you. Otherwise, a player with a tight budget can consider the Bushnell V2 rangefinder which is a basic model.

Anyone have any problems with their Bushnell rangefinders?

Used to have a tour V3 that worked fine for about a year. then all of the sudden one day it stops working (not the battery). send it off to Bushnell, they send it back after "repairing" it and surprise, it still doesn't work. I go ahead and buy a V4 since I needed one asap (the original repair took almost 5 weeks). so I told my buddy he could have the V3 when it comes back form repair since now I have V4. about 5 weeks go by and it hasn't come back so I ask my pro shop what is taking so long. well come to find out they received a letter stating the cost to repair the V3 would be greater than the cost of a new rangefinder so they will give me $100 towards the purchase of a new V4. I was upset they didn't do more than that, but that's a different issue.

So then 2 weekends ago we have a rainy tournament weekend. we get called off the course for weather so we park our cart under an over hang at the clubhouse and go inside to wait. my V4 range finder was siting in the front cubby of the cart which was parked out of the rain. go back out when the weather cleared, and surprise, the lens is completely opaque from moisture.

pretty bummed I'm having so many issues lately with Bushnell as they have always been great products. contemplating going to something else now with how they handled the last repair return I made.

anyone else having any frustrating problems with theirs?

If it's possible and your willing to go another route,  I would suggest getting your money back and get yourself a Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized.  I have had my unit for 2+ years and it has been rock

I've had three Bushnells over about the last eight years (v2, z6, and v4). Never had a problem with any. The two friends I sold my lasers to aren't having any problems with them either.

Had a v4 with slope for about a year. Sometimes it worked well and sometimes it would give me the wrong yardage or take forever to lock on. Made me second guess every read so I got rid of it. On the hunt for something reliable.

Dpavs

I have a v3 jolt and never had an issue. Sits in my bag most of the time now as I tend to use my Garmin G10 instead.

Dropping these things are the death of them. Alignment issues are common, which makes it more difficult to lock into longer distances.

My older pin seeker stopped working all of a sudden, and I was able to open it up (they make it much harder than it should be), and one of the wires connected to the battery compartment broke off, so I soldered it back on. Super fine wire (like 30 gauge wirewrapping wire) is what they use for that connection.

Since the advent of skins, which offers a little more protection, I haven't had any problems with my current v2 which I've had for at least 6 or 7 years. Buy cheap cr2s on amazon and away we go!

I would vouch for the Medalist. Mine was 10+ years, literally bought it when it came out. Still going strong and only this month was it replaced with an X2. But I am keeping it so that it goes into my range bag. Fantastic range finder, 10+ years old and still going.

Had a V4 that developed Black spots in the screen and got no help other than it was Sun damage and not "Covered", not sure how it got Sun damage when it was always kept in a case.. Not sure about the newer Bushnell's quality and agree with other posters that the older models hold up much better.

Z6 has been working great for the last 3 years for me. Only issue I have is early morning fog, that is it.

  • 1 year later...

markmcco

My threaded piece that the batter cap screws into broke out of my V4, very strange, but totally useless now.

No question the quality of Bushnell has gone downhill, the newer units are very cheap plastic and not durable, the older models like the 1600 and Medalist were much more durable.....yet the prices keep going up! As discussed on these threads non stop there are numerous quality Lasers at lower prices. Basic Laser technology is a level playing field now.

I'm on my 3rd Precision Pro NX-7 since April of this year. The first 2 did the identical thing, after a while they wouldn't pick up the yardage and just gave me straight lines. Emailed their customer service and they replaced each of the first 2. They do have great customer service. Now my 3rd one is doing the exact same thing. Was thinking of going to Bushnell, I had the 1500 pinseeker for a long time but it was just too big. My buddy has a Tec-Tec-Tec 500 that never gives him issues and they are relatively cheap in cost.

How are you guys handling your rangefinders? I don't drop mine or store in the car. When not using it I store it in its case. I keep it in my pocket while playing (its a small unit) and protect it from rain. I will use it in drizzles and it works fine (its rated "water resistant"). I don't baby it but I do realize it's an optical/electronic device and thus treat with care. Just this week I got a new Bushnell Tour V4 Shift and so far it works fine. Over about the last 10 years I've had 4 Bushnells (V2, Z6, V4, V4 Shift), and a Nikon Coolshot. I traded the Nikon in after a couple rounds for a Tour V4 after finding it was slow in locking on to flags past 175 yards. The other two oldest Bushnells I sold to friends and they still use them without any issues. I kept the V4 for my wife. Maybe I'm naive but I buy into the spiel that 99% of pros use a Bushnell. Even if Bushnell gives them away (?) I guess the pros would only use them if they proved reliable. I'm sure the other brands are good too but I don't see any need to change. I watched the duel between Michelson and Woods last year and noticed both were using V4's. At the recent skins game from China (Woods, Day, McElroy, Matsuyama) it appeared they were using either V4's or the new Pro XE.

They're all comparable anymore, kinda like phones. It just depends on what you're looking for as far as features and what brand you want. In the past decade or so I've used a Bushnell, Leupold, and lately a Bushnell Tour V4. My playing partners have different brands and models and we compare them from time to time. All are within +/-3 yards outside 100 yards and seem to stay that way thru 250. As previously mentioned, they are a electrical device and should be treated as such. If you care for one like you do your phone, it should serve you well for years.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Having the Tour use is always a good thing, if you checked advertising lately you will see most of the Champions Tour players using a Golf Buddy laser now, proves the point that the Laser technology is fairly level now so prices have come down except for Bushnell....sure alot of the cost is their massive marketing effort. Like Niram stated they all come up with the same yardage for the most part and anything new catches the flag without catching anything behind it, really comes down to whether you want to pay less for PP and others which work great or pay more to have "The Name" brand...less painful if you lose it or break it to spend less!!

I bought a Tour v3 about 7 years ago and it worked fine up until about 2 years ago when I found the yardage was no longer reliable. So I bought a Tour v4 but apparently the Fire button is now "worn out" and does not make contact to turn the range finder on. So I'm looking for something else.

Check out the Precision Pro, they are well reviewed and a quality product, the laser is just a commodity now and all grab the flag instantly with no background reads. You can pay less or overpay for a big name but no reason to anymore, PP starts at $159 with free batteries for life and from what I see on these threads they have great Customer service.

Are the "skin" covers that come with most Bushnell's designed to improve waterproofing or is it simply a trim piece? I've always just left them in the box. Thanks.

I was having a terrible problem with my Tour V4 Shift in that the sight circle would disappear randomly. To resolve the issue, I'd simply tap it against my hand a couple of times and the sight circle would come back. I was thinking of trading it in, but then I saw in one of the forum discussions about the battery cap not being tight and to just put a piece of aluminum foil under the cap. And sure enough, I started watching the battery indicator when my Shift would lose the sight circle and the indicator would show "low battery", even though I have a fresh battery in it. So, I did the "foil fix" and it's been working great since. Just wanted to share this in hopes of helping others out there having the same problem.

I've always had good luck with my Bushnells. Started out with a V2 and later upgraded to a Z6. Then got a V4 and V4 shift. Sold the first two to friends who still use them. The two V4's my wife and I use. What I've noticed is in each new generation battery life has improved and speed and ease to lock on is quicker.

Interesting all the issues people have with their Bushnell products, clearly their older product was a better build and now they put out a very average quality. There will always be people on here defending the product and they are the leader, but as everyone knows the Laser is just a commodity now and sure Bushnell will spend millions on marketing and the Tour but at the end of the day most all the lasers work well now. Anyone who knows sourcing will tell you electronics are all made in the same factories just each vendor will have small tweaks, the laser is a laser and until someone gets a quality laser in a phone they are all just a simple Laser in a plastic box and mass producerd, the reason Bushnell costs way more is marketing and fueling the machine to keep it all going.

My Z6 ,which is out of warranty , cannot be fixed in the UK where I live . The screen lights up with all the red icons on it and does nothing else . very pretty . Bushnell no help at all . Disappointing for such an expensive item .

I have several friends who had Bushnell units and loved them when they worked, but they all seemed to develop problems within the first year or two.  And their customer support is terrible.  I am on my 2nd Precision Pro NX7 and yesterday got the dreaded "E" message, and it would not read yardage.  The battery meter showed 2 bars but I replaced it anyway and it seemed to work after that.  I will echo what others have said about customer support from PP being second to none.  It just seems like most of the companies have reliability problems to varying degrees.

I got a TecTecTec 500s three and half years ago. It was my first rangefinder so wanted to start entry level before upgrading. I have zero desire to replace it at this point. Still going strong. Maybe on my 3rd battery.

I had one of the value lasers and it was noticeably less of a device than the V3 Bushnell I used to have.  Maybe if the newer Bushnells have dropped in quality it makes sense to go less expensive now, but if I was going back to a laser I'd go Bushnell.

Not sure about the newer Bushnell's quality and agree with other posters that the older models hold up much better.

I have black dots on the creek of my v4 as well. They don’t seem to affect anything other than being a cosmetic flaw. A few of my friends also have v4s and theirs are fine.

Just had to replace the battery way more often than the Nikons I used before.  And the battery life indicator was basically worthless.
