Jun 2022. The best way to admire the Douro river is taking a river cruise called "Six bridges cruise". It departs from the old town Porto riverfront - Ribeira. First it goes inland to the last bridge, turns around and sails to the Douro confluence with the Atlantic returning then to the starting point.

Most of the cruise lines I've checked appear to have "add ons" which include accommodation, bus trips and even flights. Some of them are 15 day+ packages which include only a brief River cruise component.
