We went on a cultural trip to Crete in…

We went on a cultural trip to Crete in March. There were lots of irritants but my main complaint was about the high pressurised selling at the carpet/leather/jewellery factories. In particular the jewellery factory I had to keep saying no for 20 minutes by the sales person & her manager. Each visit was a minimum of 2 hours with the exits carefully concealed. The guide was very knowledgeable but he also majored on the fact that our trip was being subsidised by the Greek government so tourist would spend in local industries. Needless to say this was not mentioned. The first hotel and staff was excellent but the second one - the staff were rude both at the desk and in the restaurant and were vert unhelpful. I did write an extensive feedback form and sent it to the company to get a very bland letter saying very little of substance. Won't ever travel with this company again.

Lovely holiday in Rhodes and Turkey

We’re almost a week back from our Rhodes and the Aegean holiday and keep wishing we were back there. We were the first RSD holiday to Rhodes after a 7 year break, and it’s fair to say the first week was a bit chaotic due to the newness of the holidays on Rhodes. It did seem that the hotels were taken by surprise by our large group, hence some initials complaints. However, overall, we had a lovely holiday. We enjoyed the variety of the tour week, with time in Turkey which was great. Some teething problems with the boarding on the Katamaran and customs which delayed us, but hopefully these will be sorted for others. Hotels, except for the first one, we’re all very good and food in our holiday week was lovely. For the amount we pay, even going all inclusive on the second week, we can’t fault these holidays. Sometimes you have a good room, sometimes not as good, but that’s part of the holiday in our opinion. If we wanted the full 4/5 star experience then we wouldn’t book RSD, but we like their business model of supporting the local economies out of season and we were very happy with our holiday.

Our first trip with RSD travel

Our first trip with RSD travel and would definitely go on another. Returned from the Rhodes /Turkey tour 5th December. Fantastic value for money, we only had the basic package as we prefer to eat at local restaurants and go independently to some places rather than on an organised tour. Having said that the the places we visited in Turkey were fantastic and we would have struggled to cover so many miles in that time. The coaches are very comfortable and safe drivers. Our guide was knowledgeable and quite amusing but a bit harsh and slightly rude at times. The hotels were great all with pools and a couple with spas. The Rodos Palace 5 star was a bit jaded but huge rooms and beautiful gardens. The sea was actually warmer than the supposedly heated indoor pool. Ideally we would have liked more time at the ancient sites and less at the factories. You do get a bit of hassle in the factories but if you stand your ground you can quickly escape to the coffee shop! We didn't particularly get a hard sell to buy extra dining packages just told everywhere would be closed around the hotels but we found places open a short walk away or bus ride. During the touring week you always stopped for lunch and had a choice of a 10 euro meal from a buffet type resteraunt which catered for large coach trips or a place where you could buy a sandwich and snacks eg service station. We were very impressed with the whole set up and cheapness. They delivered everything as advertised

I’m due to go on an eight day trip to…

I’m due to go on an eight day trip to the Cappadocia. Trying to get information out of this company has been very difficult. My friend is now not going there’s been an issue so I am left to go alone. I’ve been trying to find out which hotels are we staying at. I’ve been told abruptly on two occasions that I will know when I arrive. I do not consider this to be satisfactory as I’m going to be alone traveller and apparently according to the information I now have the group will be split up and going to different hotels. So I’ve no idea where I’m going to be or who I’m going to be weird. I would like to know if anybody has done this trip and how they found it

We have just returned from the Cultural Tour Isreal

We have just returned from the Cultural tour of Isreal really enjoyed it although we had to fly to Istanbul then on to Tel Aviv the airline Turkish Airlines were great drinks and food.We did have early get ups but with all tours you have to set off early,I was amazed at what we saw and how much we paid,we did have a free day.We booked one optional tour to the Dead Sea which was great.This is our 3rd holiday with this company,our guide Youram was brilliant.

Great refund process plus.

RSD TO REIMBURSE WITHIN 28 DAYS-THAT'S GOOD.

I read with interest RSD's reply (19hours ago-Thursday 30.4.20 16.00 hours) to the recent complaint of No contact-no service. We too were due to go on holiday to Croatia on Sunday 26 April last but had it cancelled by RSD. We have travelled with RSD on a number of occasions now and have quite enjoyed them. Although I'm sure many people, like myself are sympathetic to RSD's problems due to the virus. What has let the company down quite badly is the complete lack of communication with its customers. I have received one letter confirming the cancellation, that's all. When I have managed to speak to staff on the telephone they have been most unhelpful and bordering on being rude. The message on the RSD website is old news now and very much needs updating. It is good that in the reply that I mention above RSD state their intention is to reimburse customers within 28 days. I will hold them to that!

We have travelled with RSD on three occasions and all have been excellent experiences and tremendous value for money.We were very much looking forward to our holiday to Northern Cyprus in April but of course it has for obvious reasons been cancelled.RSD did offer us a holiday next year with an additional week but our ages and the uncertainty persuaded us to cancel.They have given us a full refund. Just book with someone else..price may…

Just book with someone else..price may seem higher initially but trust me it's not .. This trip was my first with rsd to Croatia and a coachful off people have complained.. I'm not sure how they can charge £240 each person seasonal supplement has no one open..until 1st June..I notice rsd travel only reply to good reviews ..they have a coachful of folk still here in Azul hotel..who are not happy.

Cultural Tour of India and more

We have just returned from a Cultural Tour of India and were very satisfied. Our guide, Amrit, was one of the best guides we have experienced on our tours with some of the UK's highest rated UK travel companies. On this tour we learned a lot about so many aspects of life in India as well as its history and architecture. Having traveled with RSD before we were not looking for a cheap excursion but one which met all our needs, and were not disappointed. We would certainly recommend the tour but ask for Amrit as your guide and you should not be disappointed.

What a relief to get my refund-thank you

Initially I was very agitated in Feb when I pleaded with RSD Travel to let me cancel my 10 Day trip to Canada starting 21st May, as it clearly was never going to happen. I trust the company will have more foresight in future if they wish to keep a faithful clientele. Eventually the late cancelllation about three weeks before departure, cost me, as my insurance refund is less, but I am delighted to have been refunded EVERY PENNY and thank RSD Travel for this. Now it must work to restore our confidence in their products-I still want to go on that trip and urge the company to find ways of tempting me. Currently I am furious with the travel insurance company which is refunding a derisory amount-in vouchers only. Well done, RSD Travel for compensating me so fairly and promptly once you had notified me. Challenge? Please find a way of getting me to give you 5 stars next time!

We were due to travel to Cyprus on 29th…

We were due to travel to Cyprus on 29th April. I had contacted them in March to check that the trip would still go ahead and I was told that it certainly would. On April 7th I received a phone call to notify me my trip was cancelled and offering me a credit note/voucher which I declined, requesting a refund. On the 9th April I received an email verifying the cancellation. After much tooing and froing with emails I eventually managed to get a reply saying that yes I could have a refund but it would not even be considered until 28 days after the DEPARTURE date. That is 50 days in total which even in these times I find unacceptable. I have not heard from them since so I am now going to ask my credit card to process a chargeback. This hardly inspires customer confidence. Communication is lacking on a grand scale In response to RSD, and this is not the place for ongoing comunication, We have communicated extensivelyto no avail

Reading in the papers about how some holiday-makers are being treated by some travel companies made us wonder on when we would receive our credit. But no, RSD said they would credit us by a certain date, and actually the money was in our account several days before.Will we book again with RSD - of course we will!!

Do NOT fall for this!

I recently travelled with RSD to Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro with an eight day extra relaxation in a dreadful hotel in Montenegro. The bait of an apparently cheap holiday is largely a con. We enjoyed seeing the wonderful Dalmation fortified cities, but the second week was horrid, in a dirty, unhygienic hotel at the bottom of a steep gulley with very poor food and a noisy overcrowded dining room. We were dragged round a so called "traditional carpet knotting factory", which was actually just a carpet warehouse, a so-called jewellery atelier, which was just a showroom and a leather atelier, which was again a warehouse/saleroom and we were subjected to hard sell. By this time, all of the party were totally turned off and given to laughter or dismissive comments. I got rid of one persistent salesperson by telling her that the fur on the coats was unacceptable in the UK as "even the Queen stopped wearing furs". My advice is "Caveat Emptor". These tours are not what they are advertised to be. By the way, exactly the same invitations, identical word-for-word, about carpet,jewellery and leather jackets is still in the next tours being advertised.

Excellent response re

Excellent response re: cancelled holiday. This year would have been our second trip with RSD Travel, the first was to Turkey, it was an excellent experience. This year because of Covid 19 our trip to Croatia in April had to be cancelled. RSD Travel have been in touch and informative as to how this was being handled. This week we received our full refund this week, no deduction for administration, and no problems in obtaining it. We will definitely be booking again.

Cannot get rid of this company!

I enquired several years ago about a holiday san have subsequently been regularly bombarded with letters offering me more phenominally discounted holidays. Despite repeated requests to stop sending me this junk mail, another arrived yesterday. I phoned again today and a most aggressive "Customer Service Agent" responded; if this is their good(???)cCustomer service, I'd hate to have a real problem with them on a holiday. I will see if I am removed from their database as requested!!!

Superb customer service

RSD cancelled our holiday to Dubai (because of the current Covid situation) on a Monday morning. I got an email the same day to confirm this, asking for my bank details for the refund. The refund was in my bank account the following day. SUPERB customer service, especially when set against another company (JustGo!) who are dragging a refund on for 6 months. Thank you RSD and I will bear this in mind when making further holiday bookings.

My first experience with RSD was to doubt their claims. We now know that they provide wonderful cheap holidays

My first experience with RSD was to Turkey. I was very reluctant to go as it seemed a con. They provided everything in the brochure. Since then I have been to the Cappadocia tour, the Northern Cyprus Tour, the Crete Tour and we are booked for the Croatia Tour. We are very surprised that people do not realise that the visits to carpet factories, jewellery stores, leather exhibitions etc. help make our holiday cheaper. We are very happy at the wonderful places we have visited and the high quality hotels where we have enjoyed the facilities and the wonderful food. We cannot understand the reviews that differ from our own.

Tour operator RSD Travel mean refund.

Tour operator RSD Travel mean refund. My wife needed a heart bypass operation so that is the reason for our holiday cancellation. Not happy with a 50% refund on cancelled 15-day 4-star tour of Croatia & Montenegro holiday 22nd March 2023 (44 days before travel date). We went on many nice holidays with RSD Travel. Also we rebooked this holiday many times including last year on changes they had requested.

We have been on a wonderful holiday to India with RSD. It was the most amazing experience. Everything from the minute it began was superb. Rashid our guide made this happen as he was so knowledgable and gave us wonderful experiences above and beyond expectations. We have traveled with RSD before and they are superb value for money. A lot of travelling but the driver and his mate were fabulous. This holiday will stay in our memories forever and was so magical. Thank you.

not the value for money as advertised

Our first and last trip with RSD. we travelled to Turkey with them. Poor hotels, poor food, a guide more interested in his family than his customers. Illness on the bus which was not controlled by regular cleaning so affected many of the travellers. A lot of additional cost added once in country. What initially looked like good value was definitely not when all additional costs were added. Never again!

WARNING: RSD Travel advertise with their GOURMET PACKAGE that you get a "sumptuous buffet every evening" INCORRECT! You get a pre-prepared cold plate, as their flight times arrive too late for a proper meal, for which you have paid for! RIP OFF! Also, customer service and managers are extremely rude and unhelpful. My advice, AVOID RSD TRAVEL.

Travelled to Croatia March 10 2020

Travelled to Croatia , RSD refused to cancel on march 10 despite worries over Covid19 Had 2 days trips then flown home. RSD refusing any compensation at all. They knew they shouldn't have flown us out but would have had to compensate if they cancelled. Took flying supplements and money for meals etc. Dreadful way to be treated.....they absolutely refuse to make any good will gesture. BEWARE.

I wish I took the other reviews under consideration and cancelled even if I lost my deposit. The cultural tour to Croatia was anything but, we spend almost the entire time on the bus and some of the hotels were awful. We had no free time to learn, explore and enjoy the destinations. We spent lots of money too, despite this being advertised as a cheap way to travel - when you add the food, the tourist taxes and tips everywhere the costs jump considerably. Our guide told us he wasn't rich enough to go on a cheap holiday so he only stayed in 5 star hotels (!). Sadly for us that wasn't the case but I wish we self organised and went for a week rather than 2 - the 2nd week hotel was abysmal; I only resisted flying back during the 2nd week as I was trying to avoid any additional costs.

Delhi, Agra and Rajasthan The trip was an interesting tour of the main sites of Delhi , Agra and Rajasthan, but also included the less well known havelis of Mandawa. The hotels were good quality although the ones in Delhi could have been more central.

We are at present on a trip to Northern…

We are at present on a trip to Northern Cyprus. The first week was excellent but the second week here in the salamis conti 5 star luxury is our worst nightmare. It is like a glorified holiday camp. The meals are served in what one could only describe as a works canteen but with hundreds of kids running round. Will never travel with this company again. For our 11.20 flight home we are having an early breakfast at 2AM before heading to the airport absolutely appalling customer service. The rep here in resort is absolutely useless and extremely rude. Avoid this trip as it’s a total nightmare

We went to Lycia in September 23 for 2 weeks the first week was a tour round the world heritage sites which was amazing the second week was a relaxing week in the most amazing hotel food the rooms the staff were faultless. Would really recommend it

Excellent trip to Cappadocia

Excellent trip to Cappadocia, Turkey October ‘23. Highly recommend. Trip was very well organised and female tour guide was excellent, provided us with history of area and good insight into culture. Wide variety of tours the highlight being a hot air balloon ride amidst the breathtaking beauty of Cappadocia.

Not much I can add to the other bad…

Not much I can add to the other bad reviews. The entire holiday in North Cyprus was one big shopping excursion to hard-sell factory outlets, interspersed with a few visits to places of interest. Forget the dinner package, the food is mediocre at best, and your money would be better spent in a local restaurant. Tour guide Deniz was great though I shan’t be using RSD again P.s. if you do go, take euros. Despite Turkish lira being the official currency, everything seems to be priced in euros

RSD holiday to Rhodes & Turkey

We have been on several RSD holidays and are well aware that visits to various retailers is a prerequisite. Having said that we have not had a bad experience across holidays in Crete, India, Croatia, Turkey and Rhodes. Our latest trip to Rhodes in October included the free extra seven days. We were concerned what hotel we would get, but we need not have worried. The Rodos Palace was an excellent base for the week. It is a local 5 star hotel. Rooms were very spacious and well appointed with reasonable WiFi. Located a comfortable one hour walk from the old town or a short €9 taxi ride, it was a good location. The beach across the road was also very accessible. The extra week did not include for food and drink, but the all inclusive package sold by RSD was good value for money. Food in the hotel was plentiful and generally of a good standard. The drinks available under the package were a bit limited, but still good value.

After a great holiday in China last year

The cultural trip to Morocco was spoilt by the poor quality of the hotels provided. The brochure assured us of 4 or 5 star hotels with our gourmet package. Hotels were at the best struggling to meet 3 to 4 star. RSD still insist on dragging us to Carpet, leather and jewellery outlets under the guise of showing cultural experience but are really only doing a hard sell. Please make these optional and let us see more of the real Morocco. We were very lucky in having an exceptional guide and driver. Come on RED make a few improvements and get to a 4 star review.

Great travel company

My wife and I have twice enjoyed the RSD holiday to Cappadocia, Turkey. We first went 10 years ago and enjoyed it so much that we went on the same holiday in 2023, this time enjoying an extra week at a beach hotel near Antalya. Everything about the holiday was first class; the organisation and hotels could not be faulted. Many people on our 2023 holiday had previously enjoyed holidays with RSD to various destinations, and all spoke highly of the company. Christmas Day  for music snobs, vinyl collectors and dedicate fanbases is almost here. Are you ready for it?

Record Store Day  is back for its 17th year on Saturday, April 20, when dozens of exclusive new releases and reissues will be available from musicians, from Fleetwood Mac to Sabrina Carpenter.

What is Record Store Day?

USA TODAY writes the annual event − typically held on the third Saturday in April − has served as a treat for core vinyl owners and an introduction for newer digital-age music fans.

"Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently-owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally," their website writes. "The first Record Store Day took place on April 19, 2008."

Today, Record Store Day is celebrated at independently owned brick-and-mortar record stores around the world.

Who are the Record Store Day ambassadors for 2024?

This year,  punk rock band Paramore  will serve as the face of grassroots music culture and voice the need to support local record businesses.

"The discovery of music was always meant to be romantic. Indie record shops are some of the only spaces we’ve got that offer a tangible, tactile experience of music discovery," the band wrote on the event website. "Thankfully, for all our sakes, there still survives among the chaos, the purity and radical simplicity of a great record store."

Is my local store in Florida participating in Record Store Day?

Music fans can go to  www.recordstoreday.com  and click the link for  participating stores .

Will every store listed on the website participate in Record Store Day?

By definition these stores are independent. This means they will choose whether they wish to participate. To confirm if they are participating in Record Store Day Black Friday, call ahead of time or check their social media.

Will every participating store get every exclusive title?

Record Store Day notes that they do not give or sell the releases to participating stores. Each record store makes its own buying decisions and may choose to bring in some titles and not others.

The titles on the RSD list are limited in number, as are most things created for special time periods or exclusive to certain retailers. This means a store may not get all copies they wanted or that a store may sell out of a release before you are able to purchase it.

What is the difference between RSD exclusive, RSD first and RSD limited run/regional focus?

SCNow  shared the difference between the types of releases fan will see on RSD:

• RSD Exclusive  - The record is pressed specifically for Record Store Day and isn't expected to otherwise be available.
• RSD First  - A special variant is being produced for Record Store Day and a standard black version will be released later.
• RSD Limited run/Regional focus  - Typically have smaller quantities under 1,000 total units. It can also mean a release from an artist will be easier to find in a specific city or region, most likely from an artist hailing from that particular place.

How much do Record Store Day releases cost?

Prices vary on each release and can vary slightly at each store.

Many shops will have the prices for the titles they will carry online. You can also contact your store for more information.
