Exclusive: Pictures of Norwegian Cruise Lines New Miami Cruise Terminal
Since our last update about nine months ago , there’s been major progress on Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Terminal B at the Port of Miami .
We recently took a trip from the port and got a first-hand look at how the new terminal is coming along. As you can see in the photos below, the building is taking shape and it doesn’t have that much longer until completion.
The structure looks to now be enclosed, along with the glass window facade that looks out into the channel:
When we last visited in February, the main terminal building was just a portion of a skeleton. Now it’s a complete structure, along with a parking garage. There’s still plenty of work to be done, but we were told is should be complete in early 2020.
The new Terminal B sits right next door to Royal Caribbean’s new Terminal A. Along with those new terminals, there are several more cruise terminals in the works for the Port of Miami.
As the world’s busiest cruise port, it’s exciting to see all the changes underway at the port to make it an even better place to cruise. This new terminal from Norwegian looks to be the feather in the cruise line’s cap — and another gem at the port.
Here’s a rendering of how it will look once completed:

NORWEGIAN Cruise Line's state-of-the-art terminal at the Port of Miami opened its doors back in 2021, but many who have walked through may not know that it holds a special design secret.
The terminal has gone green , having been the first terminal to be awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) ranking.
A LEED certification is no easy feat, the green building ranking is recognized as one of the highest achievements in terms of sustainable design .
"We are proud to be recognized as a leader in sustainable construction with the LEED Gold Certification of our incredible new PortMiami terminal B," Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO Frank Del Rio said.
The terminal was designed to perform at least 38 percent better than the average building, according to Travel Pulse .
Local materials and resources were utilized to create a platform that optimizes energy performance and uses water efficiently.

Plus, the construction kept in mind the safety of endangered wildlife , such as local manatees, by implementing pollution discharge protections.
By fall 2023, the project should also have shore power capabilities, providing ships power from a land-based source.
Such features are even more impressive when considering the momentous size of the terminal at 188,000 square feet.
The terminal will provide the capacity to host ships that can carry up to 5,000 people.

Five million passengers come through the Port of Miami every year, making it the cruise capital of the world.
Miami has prided itself on pushing future-forward infrastructure, and architects Bermello Ajamil & Partners are surely pleased with the results of their astounding terminal project.

I've completed 57 cruises over 20 years and now my favorite by far is Norwegian Cruise Lines. NCL has an unbeatable Premium Plus beverage package that includes unlimited Starbucks coffee, energy drinks, fresh squeezed juices, premium top shelf wines and spirits and much more. The dining is also hard to beat with the larger ships having about 10 specialty dining restaurants including seafood, steakhouse, sushi, italian, french, and more. Most of all I like the NCL welcome back spirit where bartenders and other crew remember you from months to possibly years ago sailing with them. The crew goes above and beyond with programs like dinner with the officers and my vacation hero cards that help reinforce the outstanding service. I did seven cruises last year and six of them were with norwegian. Strongly recommended!

On vacation, enjoying our moments away from reality. I always loved Norwegian Cruise Line and Norwegian Encore is one of their largest ship. It was luxury and huge despite our small inside cabin. There were 3 main dining room to choose from every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was like fine dining. They serve you like you're royalty . When their main dining rooms are closed we have the buffet, called Garden Cafe. Dining with a view. Ocean view. During peak hours finding a table could be challenging but if you're patience other people will leave and you can have that table and ask the attendant to clean. We had fresh made to order omelette, cold cereal, warm oatmeal, croissant, melons, bacons & sausages, you name it, they likely have it. One evening they even had oxtail stew which was my favorite. I overate that evening haha. Plenty of activities to help you burn off those calories from morning yoga to running tracks to mini nightclub, Social club to broadway shows and comedy. For down time and relaxations there's several pools, jacuzzi and my fav, the Observation lounge. I can hang out there all day and sip hot tea. They even have light snacks and a nice bar if you prefer a mai tai. We did have to wait about 1.5 hr before we were allowed on the ship when boarding. The last day, we packed and had breakfast and hung out at the lounge a bit before getting off about 10am eventho ship arrived to port at 7am. The traffic and crowd was a bit crazy as we were leaving the port area but if you sit tight and not in a hurry to catch your flight, Uber/Lyft went from $50 to $20 just because we waited 2 hours later when most of the crowd was gone. There's a small area you can spread your towel to sit or sit on the curbs or wherever it's safe. Weather was perfect 80 degrees with a slight breeze in early December. A few things they can improve is that the jacuzzi temperature was not warm enough. It was lukewarm. They should hire at least 2 DJ as I saw only 1 and he seem to play the same list of songs. More group activities and line dancing in pool deck both during day time and evening please and less children on the stage. I was really looking forward to the Glow aka white party but little kids were on the stage all night and the emcee left the stage shortly so people were just standing around wondering what they should do, looking a bit bored and lost. Perhaps a competition or prizes for best dress or dance moves? Our guest room attendant, Richard was amazing and attentive. We were in room 11-401. Thank you Richard for cleaning our room and making our bed. All the staffs in the buffet were fantastic and so friendly despite a pile of dirty dishes in their arms. You guys are amazing! Thank you Just a note about excursions. We did the panoramic overlook at St Thomas and quite disappointed. First the shuttles were late and this was a 3 hrs excursion. The overlook area was next to a gift shop and it was very crowded. The staffs in the gift shop was not friendly. We barely had enough time to take photos with people in the background, purchase their famous banana daiquiri and a couple t-shirts. On the way back the driver stopped at another local street vendors selling more souvenirs where I bought a baseball cap and then he dropped us off at the mall area instead of near the pier so we had a long walk back. Another scheme to get us to buy more souvenirs? Hmmm... We had a wonderful day at Tortola with our Long Bay Beach excursion but we only had 2 hrs and paid $69 pp. There was no snacks or lunch provided, only a bottle of water. The local vendors tried to get us to pay $25 for lounge chairs but we politely declined. I see no reason to pay for lounge chairs for only 2 hrs. Instead we spread out our towels on the sand and enjoyed the warm clear water and some sunshine. It was lovely. Our ship had to leave at noon and we just got there at 7am. If only they could stay until 5-6pm and our excursion last until 3-4pm would've been nice. Our first port was at Puerta Plata but we didn't even leave the port vacinity since it's not a walkable distance and taxi were $100 round trip. No thanks. We stayed in the cruise provided pool area and it's free. They had nice pool area with DJ playing energetic music and a lazy river, all free! Thank you Norwegian. Last thing, our package came with 150 WiFi minutes but at midnight on the last day it was automatically turned off by the ship and I still had plenty of minutes to use. It was disappointing since I couldn't log into any social media, text my friends and family or check other things. We had to wait until we were off the ship. Something to prepare for. We had a great time otherwise and a slight sunburn haha. We will be back someday

I had the best cruise experience on the Norwegian Pearl. The ship was immaculate, the food was delicious and the entertainment was superb! Embarkation and disembarkation was seamless. The entire staff was pleasant. I'm looking forward to booking another NCL cruise soon.

Really nice ship, wonderful service staff and food wasn't too bad. Enjoyed the cruise and this ship was made just for our Maxwell Urban Suite cruise theme

Best trip so far, and I have done 6. The food was great, had a room upgrade. Its the "suite life" from now on. Bathtoom had fully stocked toiletries. Good to know lol. Bars served whatever you liked. Nothing like a friendly bartender. Ports of call were Ravenna, Italy, Croatia (where Games of Thrones was filmed), Istanbul, Turkey, Santorini, Mykenos and Athens. Love their customer service and wide variety of food offerings. Ship was the Viva which has a 3 story water slide and go karts!!. Travel on and make memories. Eat well and enjoy

I have never had bed bug bites in my entire 52 years of life until I went on a cruise on Norwegian Encore 5/28/2023 I found all these nasty looking bug bites on my body on the third day of cruise and when I went to the Guest Service Desk, they sent a Pest Control Director to my room. He found a male bug after conducting some search. Please see attached photos so you know what they look like. I was disgusted to hear from one of the staff that they now have to find a female bug so they don't lay hundreds of eggs! I am still dealing with these marks long after the cruise and probably will for many years. Half of my cruise was wasted because I was dealing with mental anguish, physical suffering and pain. And this is the part where I felt like I was insulted. They offered me a $100 credit on onboard expenses. After I elevated the issue, they offered me $400 credit towards future cruise which I will never take. Not with them again. This is hardly any compensation. Beware, these bed bug bites are a serious matter. They are like cancer, once found in a room, there is no telling how wide or deep they have spread or migrated to other rooms, you can only hope. I never thought I would be this unlucky one. Getting bitten is one thing but the lack of any real compensation from Norwegian is pretty shameful. I am sharing my experience to raise awareness and hopefully help others avoid this traumatic experience.

Harassed and threatened by staff, SA by married man, who brought his wife on cruise, told not to complain, or I would be kicked off at my own expense. Asked for a refund for next cruise that starts in nine days, told to hire a lawyer. Terrifying experience.
I could go into the many aspects of the awful cruise we had on the Norwegian Pearl but I'll concentrate on this one .. your property is not safe. I misplaced my phone the day we departed .. rather I know exactly where it was and reported it to lost and found when we left the ship. Their lost and found department CANNOT be contacted other than submitting a form. My iPhone 13 Pro Max ($1,300) had my name, phone #, and email address on the case. I watched on Apple's "Find My" service as it sailed the Caribbean for the next 2 weeks until it either ran out of power or the person who stole it (yes, stole. It knew it wasn't theirs when they picked it up) got it off the ship and sold it to a confederate ashore. I last saw it at Senior Frog's in Freeport. NCL did absolutely nothing to find this despite the fact that every meal, drink, etc we had on that ship was in their records. The last one should have been easy enough to find. The waiter who took our order would have been know, the supervisor of the restaurant, O'Shehan's would have been know. If anyone had done ANYTHING to find it, I would likely have it now. So I wait and went without a phone, which I use for my business, for the 10 days they said it would take in their email before I had to buy another. I have now received the "we're working on it, please allow 10 days" email 4 TIMES!! I have called twice about it, and believe me that's difficult as you have to fib your way through the phone prompts to actually get a person .. they won't talk to you unless you're booking your next "dream vacation", and even THEY can't talk to anyone in the lofty Lost and Found department. If you take away nothing from this review other than this, please know that NCL DOES NOT CARE about it's customers. Period. We will never consider them for travel in the future and you are advised not to as well.
I've sailed with Norwegian three separate times due to their partnership with Charter brands such as Sixthman, Insomniac, and more. Norwegian's customer service from start to finish really leaves you wanting more but they provide enough to make you feel like you're at a nice university dining and living situation for the week you're traveling with them. Dealing with their customer service online is always a bear if you have any questions or issues with accessing your account. It's almost enough to make you want to forsake the whole experience if you weren't committed to your themed cruise. After a few disastrous check-in situations for the embarkation day, the most smooth situation I've had so by arriving an hour early at the Norwegian Cruise Terminal and waiting in line to go through check-in and be one of the first waves of people on the boat. In years past when I didn't do so, I have waited up to 6-8 HOURS just to check in and basically missed the entire first day. The cabins are decent, a little outdated, and the wifi on the ship is really touch and go and can be downright abysmal. The dining options themselves range from the university dining halls to two-star yelp little eateries that you'd find in your local hometown, nothing special. Their drinks are better and more generous pours than say a Carnival cruise line but still nothing worth writing home about. The best part about Norwegian is their private beach at Great Stirrup Cay. Their food and drink options are the best on that island compared to what they offer onboard throughout the entire trip, which is disappointing because it's only from 10-4 PM when you'd expect that level of service throughout the entire cruising experience. When traveling with Norwegian, I'd say that you need to do everything possible to make sure things go smoothly and that's just by making sure you're always at the front of the long line for any process because they take a long time to get their ducks in a row and delays are expected. If chartered events didn't partner with Norwegian, I'm not very sure I'd seek them out on my own for a typical cruise experience.
Extremely disappointed in the post cruise customer service. I cancelled our return flight from Sydney, Australia on United since we made other plans. United was generous enough to refund us $1147 for that flight. The credit went to NCL, since it was booked by them. I attached the letter from United to NCL confirming the amount, and requested a refund to my credit card. They refunded an amount of $909 instead of $1147 for an arbitrary reason. I confirmed that United paid them $1147 on my behalf. I elevated this to the Sr. VP of customer service when the staff would not pay us the $238 balance. This was basically ignored, so I am out $238, and they profited $238 for no reason. Beware of their post cruise customer service team.

Naked cruise to sail from Miami in 2025
MIAMI (Gray News) - A nudist adventure awaits with the Big Nude Boat cruise scheduled to sail from Florida next year.
Bare Necessities Tour and Travel announced its newest nude cruise will be the Norwegian Sky cruise ship out of Miami.
The Big Nude Boat 2025 cruise will be a 10-day trip taking travelers to the Caribbean with scheduled stops that include the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and St. Lucia.
Bare Necessities said it will be taking over the Norwegian Pearl from Feb. 3 to Feb. 14, 2025.
According to the cruise itinerary , clothes-free experiences will be planned throughout the trip including nude beach days on private islands and nude days at sea.
But there will also be proper nudist etiquette and other rules for guests on board that include no photo zones around the pool area and dance venues, according to the cruise’s policies .
The travel company recommended that passengers bring some sort of casual clothing for the times they need to dress, along with a swimsuit as not all excursions will be clothing optional, but lingerie or fetish wear will not be an acceptable form of clothing on board.
The Big Nude Boat 2025 cruise tickets are currently on sale with prices starting at $2,000 for double occupancy.
Information about costume parties and onboard events is expected to be released at a later date.
