Highlights: Seal was great. The first part was around 10 songs from the Standards album (but not my favourite, I’m beginning to see the light, which I have on vinyl from the early 60’s by Eugenie Baird). All well performed and in good voice - I was a little concerned having seen his slot on Strictly Come Dancing; it was not convincing; but no worries here. And then the transition to his main hits...he became far more animated, going into the crowd, performing and singing really well and getting everyone up..We thought he felt much more at home, understandably. But he is a class act still with great presence. A good balance

Lowlights: what a terrible venue. It was freezing cold and everyone kept coats, scarves, hats & gloves on just about. The ushers ran about trying to get everyone seated and move the queues along. The seating, well! 114€ a ticket to sit on some chairs they've picked up from a school refectory - and worse, around 12 rows back, we were on the flat, so once people stood up we were also forced to stand like it or not. Also meaning we had to watch through a forest of arms with phones in their hands recording everything. The concert was supposed to start at 8pm; a guy came on did 5/6 songs and disappeared around 8:25, whereupon we sat, not the 5 minutes we all expected, but till 9 before he appeared. People were really ratty, with slow clapping, ironic cheeers when a roadie checked an instrument for the umpteenth time. Someone made the sound of the Dax band harking back to the old 5 Nations and got a great cheer. Good he didn’t release the cockerels, but at least that would have been worth it. All to no avail, we sat there freezing. Not a place to go back to through choice this. This also meant that Seal had to deal with all the grumpiness which he did very well, chatting to everyone, speaking Fraench and making lighthearted comments

9/10 for Seal and a very tight band - although during the second part the bass drum made such a vibration it was quite disturbing; fortunately they sorted that out. Nul points for La Seine Musicale; they need to go along to the U Arena and see how its done - a real professional operation there

What an incredible concert! What an amazing entertainer! It is more than enough that Seal has one of the most iconic and uniquely soulful voices on the planet; but he went above and beyond during this show. He wooed the audience, leaving the stage several times to wander deep into the crowd and sing/share his songs with throngs of adoring fans standing around him and cheering him on. He allowed the audience to do more than "watch a concert", rather he brought us all into the show with him and included us in the heartfelt emotion of his amazing songs. The show was personal, intimate, unifying and perfect! The Mountain Winery Venue is one of the best places to see a show in all of the San Francisco Bay Area. When you combine a Big Time Performer like Seal with a small and intimate venue like Mountain Winery, you are destined for a truly special and totally memorable evening! "Kiss from a Rose" was electrifying; "Prayer for the Dying" oozed with emotion, "Killer" and "Crazy" had me leaping out of my seat. Seal's "new" songs, which he performed early in the night, were so richly personal that I rushed out and bought his latest CD immediatly following the show. Thanks Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel for a great night of entertainment; one I won't soon forget!!

Seal was such an awesome singer and really enjoyed his concert from beginning to the end. He played all of my favorite songs such as "Crazy" and "Kiss from a Rose". The audience was really grooving and moving to the music throughout the whole concert and they really got up and showed the passion they have for his music.

Seal as you can see really loves to perform and just allow everyone to enjoy his music as much as he loves to create it. The special effects and visualization were seriously incredible as well. They went very well with all his music and were awesome to look at and enjoy during his performance.

I got up one time and started singing during his "crazy" song and felt as if I was tripping on some acid as I sang and watched the incredible visualizations they had playing on the huge screen in the background. The venue was really nice and I enjoyed the seats when I sat down they gave me a break from standing and were very comfortable.

Although I'm sure not very many people care about the seats they do help at times. The concert was really great and I loved all the sounds and music he played along with the musicians he had playing with him.

This is the 3rd time seeing Seal and as always, he doesn't disappoint. His voice, song list, charisma, just awesome and gets the crowd going. Now the one thing that was quite exceptional about this concert was, earlier on during the day he met a girl called Poppy busking in the centre of Manchester. He ended up befriending her and sang with her drawing quite a crowd. After that he was speaking to her and low and behold, she opened the concert for him before he came on singing her own songs. I cant think of any other artist that has ever done that. I hope that has helped to make her dreams come true and any talent scouts spot her. He also had a guy called Rhys Lewis who was on before Poppy as well, he was awesome. No music published as yet to buy, but defo gonna keep an eye out for him. All in all was probably one of the best experiences as well as concerts, as Seal had been filming the events with Poppy on his facebook site live throughout the day so a lot of us saw the day progressing. Absolutely loved it, see u next time Seal

I have been a Seal fan since the beginning of his singing career. I really appreciate him giving a performance outdoors instead of indoors. The outdoor concert is more comfortable and enjoyable. His performance was outstanding, songs sung great sounding just like his albums. I really love the aucostic guitar performance. Seal is a very talented man who gave an outstanding performance.

The concert was amazing. Seal is a great artist. I highly recommend his live performances. We had an awesome night at the Ruth Eckerd. Thank you Seal! He sang all his great hits. The sound was amazing. The size of the theater was very goo for this kind of concerts.

The best of the new from the Standards album or the first half of the show followed by a fine selection of greatest hits.

Seal was on great form. His voice showing no signs of diminishing with age. This was our third time seeing him and it will not be the last

It was a good show but for as much money as we spent it was not worth it. He only played from 8:30-10:15. There were no encores. He spoke a lot and his voice was not tip top (because of a cold I presume).

All Seal Needs Is Love

Embarking on a tour celebrating his music career’s 30th anniversary, the singer and songwriter explained how tennis, Joni Mitchell and ChatGPT have inspired him.

  • Share full article

A pixelated image of Seal, smiling broadly.

By Jeremy Gordon

The singer and songwriter Seal is one of modern music’s most ardent believers in the power of love, but that doesn’t mean you should look to him for romantic advice. “You’re headed for disaster if you ask me,” he joked, before immediately providing what sounded like a practical perspective on how to make a relationship work. “I’ve found that it’s most productive when both parties see themselves, and then there’s this third entity which is like a plant. That plant needs water every day, and you love that plant because you — both as an entity, and as individuals — are all that it has.”

This type of focused dedication was on Seal’s mind as he prepared for a tour celebrating 30 years of his music career, an anniversary that prompted some reflection. “I can’t believe how fortunate I am to still be here,” he said in a video interview from his home studio in Los Angeles. “Every day above ground is a great day, as far as being a musician is concerned.”

He emphasized his good fortune, like when the film director Joel Schumacher gave new life to “Kiss From a Rose,” which hadn’t made any commercial impact with its 1994 arrival, by incorporating it into the 1995 film “Batman Forever.” Upon rerelease, the song hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart and won Grammys for record and song of the year. “It was exactly the same song that failed the first time. That’s a big, lucky break.”

But Seal, 60, isn’t fixated on the past. He cited Travis Scott’s 2020 performance inside the video game Fortnite as a potential model for how artists may reach fans in the future, remarking that “it won’t be long before we’re at a YouTube concert, virtually rubbing shoulders.” Still, he’s excited to see real-life fans on his tour this spring, which starts in late April. “Any time I get to play live for people, it’s like going on a date for the first time,” he said. “There are no bad audiences — only mediocre performances.”

As he prepared to hit the road, Seal spoke about 10 of his beloved cultural inspirations. These are edited excerpts from the conversation.

It’s always on my mind. If you’ve listened to my music, I’ve been singing about that out of the gate. Every situation is almost certainly different when you choose to lean in with love; it doesn’t really matter what it is. Of course, love requires a degree of vulnerability. The ultimate kind of love — what we’re trying to achieve — is unconditional. I think that’s its purest form, and I also think that’s the reason for our existence. This is all an experiment; the point of it is happiness. Without unconditional love, I don’t know if it’s possible to achieve that — certainly not on this earth.

I love tennis because it’s an allegory for life. I love the discipline; I love the work; I love the problem solving; I love how, in the most incredible way, it relates to singing. In order to play tennis well, you have to go against everything your body wants; you have to relax, you have to almost relinquish control. I know that’s contrary to popular belief, but that’s singing: You let yourself, rather than make yourself.

Leica M Camera

I saw this director, Mike Figgis, at a candlelit dinner; he was taking pictures, and I was intrigued how he wasn’t using a flash. The next day, I went into a store and bought the exact same setup. That’s where the love affair began. It’s the one camera that gets out of the way between the subject I’m trying to capture and myself. By virtue of its design, the person can still see your face when you’re taking the picture; you still have that engagement and connection, opposed to the viewfinder being in the middle.

Joni Mitchell

One of my great memories of Joni was performing “Both Sides Now” with her in the audience. It’s one of the highlights of my life, the ability to work with someone who had such an impact on your growing up. [Seal sang on Mitchell’s 1994 song “How Do You Stop.” ] It’s the stuff dreams are made of; I just remember pinching myself to make sure it was happening. She’s quite remarkable; she’s a great storyteller, and authentic to the core. To see her onstage singing , after everything she’s been through, was amazing.

Necklace From My Daughter Lou

She gave it to me on my birthday, and that’s everything. Anyone who has a son or a daughter, when they give something to you — whether it’s their love, or a valuable lesson or something like a necklace — it’s not so much what it is, but the spirit and the soul of the person behind it. They start out as kids, and they end up as these people with their own outlook and philosophies on life, so the gift is more about their thought process, and who they are behind it. It’s both beautiful and heartwarming — you realize they’re their own people with their own views on the world, and what’s important to them.

Carol Christian Poell

I don’t like to call him a designer, because he’s more than that — he’s an artist much in the same way that a musician or a painter is an artist. I’ve been wearing his clothes since he started, and I just love the way he sees things — his attention to detail in the silhouette and the shape. I can spot somebody wearing a Carol costume at 100 yards. He doesn’t do bad stuff; that’s why he’s my favorite.

It’s a large part of who I am — you can take the boy out of London, but you never take London out of the boy. I like walking around where I grew up, just triggering those memories, but I also love the West End — anywhere in London, to be honest. I love my city, warts and all. It takes about two weeks of that dreadful weather to bring me to my senses and remind me why I left, but I’m lucky enough that I’m able to go back fairly regularly.

To not be curious about it would be akin to being a Luddite, or an ostrich with your head stuck in the sand. It’s here , and it’s part of our evolution — for that reason, you can’t fight it, and you can’t really see it as this enemy that’s going to be the end of mankind. My experience with it is I started out by thinking it was a machine, but once I started to relate to it as though I were talking to a person, this incredible collaboration started — I would ask maybe one or two questions, and it would spark my imagination and ability to create. I think it’s incredible, and I think we’re at an amazing point in our evolution as a species.

Goodall Acoustic Guitar

Sometimes a melody I’m writing is in my head, but more often than not, it’s on a guitar. I think handmade instruments are just beautiful things; they’re transport mechanisms to convey this phenomenon known as music. I love acoustic guitars, and Goodalls are my favorite. It’s all subjective — Martins are great to record with, but I’m pretty heavy-handed and Martins typically don’t like when you bash them. Goodalls, you can play them loud but they’re great at lower volumes, and of course the craftsmanship is extraordinary.

Do I sit and meditate every day? Probably, but not in a way that you might imagine. If it’s not sitting down in a kumbaya position and breathing — which I rarely do — it is playing tennis, which is a form of meditation. Having a degree of focus whilst being in a state — it’s a form of meditation. The thing I enjoy most is the balance, and the slowing down of the mind. That’s really important.

The Buggles Finally Setting Out On Proper Tour As Support For Seal

  • By Ryan Dillon

2023 marks 30 years since the world was introduced to the enigmatic soul of Seal. The R&B/Soul star released his self-titled debut in 1991 and was instantly heralded as one of the most exciting releases the genre has heard in years. In celebration of the anniversary, the icon has a few plans to commemorate his debut. Today (January 18), Seal has announced a long spring tour across the U.S. where he will perform his historic debut entirely, and it only gets better. Seal also plans to go through his sophomore album Seal II from front to back on the tour as well.

The tour will be put into the hands of the legendary producer and longtime Seal collaborator Trevor Horn . Horn will play as musical director of the tour commemorating a landmark of his own. Horn’s legendary band The Buggles will take the opening slot for this string of shows. The Buggles, whose storied legacy outshines their output, only released two albums, their debut album produced their hit single “T.V Killed The Radio Star” which doubled as the first music video to ever be played on MTV.

The Buggles have always been deemed a studio band, meaning they never hit the road for a full tour with their music. Besides one-off promotional and T.V. appearances, the duo never embarked on a full tour with their albums. After the band called it quits following their 1981 sophomore album, they reunited in 1998 and reunion shows began to pop up more frequently. Considering the last time the band performed live was back in 2011, their position as an opener for Seal’s upcoming tour is almost as exciting as the headliner being that this is the first official full tour for the storied Buggles band.

Along with the tour announcement, Seal hit the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to perform his historic “Kiss of A Rose”. You can watch that here:

The tour will have Seal and The Buggles traveling across the country starting out on April 25 at the Arizona Financial Theater in Phoenix. The 25-date tour sees Seal hitting cities like Philadelphia, Austin, and Atlanta. See the full list of dates below:

Disney+ and Hulu have set a new Bruce Springsteen documentary for an October premiere.

“Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band” will follow the band’s 2023-2024 world tour, featuring footage from band rehearsals and backstage moments, conversations with Springsteen as he develops the setlist and archival clips of the E Street Band. The project is intended to complement Springsteen’s existing body of autobiographical works, which includes the memoir “Born to Run,” the live performance (and documentary) “Springsteen on Broadway,” and the films “Western Stars” and “Letter to You.”

Popular on Variety

The documentary is not the only Springsteen project soon headed to screens. “The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White is in talks to play the legendary rocker in an upcoming biopic titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” which will follow the making of the 1982 album “Nebraska.” “Succession” star Jeremy Strong is in talks to play Landau , as Variety exclusively reported, while 20th Century Studios recently boarded as distributor of the Gotham Group-produced film.

Wielding one of the most identifiable voices of all-time, Seal has left an indelible imprint on pop, R&B, soul, and dance music. Along the way, he has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, generated over 1 billion streams, and garnered four GRAMMY ® Awards, three BRIT Awards, Two Ivor Novello Awards, and one MTV VMA. As a versatile and vital force throughout popular culture, his catalog encompasses ubiquitous anthems such as “Killer,” “Crazy,” and “Kiss From A Rose,” which toppled the Billboard Hot 100 at #1, scored GRAMMY ® Awards for “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year” and adorned his quadruple-platinum 1994 epic, Seal II . In retrospect, Stereogum likened it to a “radio wave sent out across the universe from a much, much prettier planet . ” In addition to appearing in films by iconic directors such as Spike Lee and the late Joel Schumacher, his music has been celebrated with covers by Alanis Morissette, Bastille, and George Michael, to name a few. Speaking to his enduring influence, Seal notably appeared in John Hamburg’s Me Time alongside Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg , The Lonely Island’s cult classic Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping , Tyler Perry’s The Passion , America’s Got Talent , and The Masked Singer . Most recently, he earned a GRAMMY ® Award nod in the category of “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” for Standards in 2019. Along the way, he has collaborated with everyone from Jeff Beck, Joni Mitchell, and Santana to P!nk, John Legend, and Gallant. However, Seal’s voice resounds louder than ever with more music in 2022 and beyond.

“Ben had this idea,” says Nick Harmer, Death Cab for Cutie ‘s bassist since 1997 when Gibbard decided to turn his fledgling solo project into a proper band. “It was like, ‘Do you think it’s time? Do you think there’s a world where we sort of combine these things together for a celebration and do this together?’

“I think everyone in the band immediately was like, ‘I absolutely think that’s a wonderful idea,’” Harmer says. “You know, it’s a very unique accomplishment that hardly any other singer-songwriter can claim to have made. We’re all very proud of Ben for that.”

The tour that kicked off in September 2023 with Death Cab playing its album “Transatlanticism” followed by the Postal Service performing “Give Up” got extended into 2024.

But when the two groups play Just Like Heaven in Pasadena on Saturday, May 18, that will be the end of the road in the United States for this 20th anniversary celebration. If you want to see both albums played in full, this is likely your last chance without flying to Europe for a final handful of shows come summer.

Just Like Heaven also features indie acts such as Phoenix , the War on Drugs, Metric , Tegan and Sara and more, and Harmer says he and his bandmates are delighted to bring their album to Brookside at the Rose Bowl this year, too.

“We’ve been having an amazing time playing this record,” Harmer says. “I think when we were thinking about a way to sort of significantly mark the 20-year anniversary of ‘Transatlanticism,’ it’s kind of hard to isolate the success of it in 2003 from the success of “Give Up’ that Ben also wrote and released in 2003.

“Those two records, while they’re different projects, and certainly, we’ve done our best over the years to keep them separate in people’s minds as much possible, they still are very much related because of the central mind that they’re coming out of.

“And the response has been phenomenal. I don’t think I quite expected how strong of a response we would get for a record that we made so long ago. But it’s really nice to play this each night and realize how these songs have continued to live and find people over the years.

In an interview edited for length and clarity, Harmer talked about old memories the tour has stirred, the unique blend of Death Cab and the Postal Service on tour as well as the impact of “The OC” television series, which also debuted in 2003, on Death Cab’s rising popularity and more.

Q: Diving back into ‘Transatlanticism’ must have reconnected you to memories. What stands out?

A: Playing this record is as close to stepping into a time machine as I think I’ll ever get in my life. There’s so much that you don’t even think you have in your mind, or that you’re carrying with you, that suddenly a certain phrase in a song or a moment of playing will trigger some buried memory.

It’s been kind of a constant wash of these feelings and emotions and remembering who I was, and who we were when we made the record, and then reflecting on how much growth and evolution has happened since then.

Q: Any specific example?

A: Just like how my relationships to the songs have changed. Take a song like ‘Passenger Seat’ on the album. When we wrote and recorded that song and played it in 2003, that song was very much a love song. A pretty straightforward romantic song about driving with a partner.

But in the fall tour – I have a daughter now who’s 9 – I had this weird feeling where suddenly my relationship with the song, it’s like someday I’m going to be old and I’m going to be in a car and she’s going to be the one driving me from someplace we were together. Maybe a dinner or a medical appointment or something.

My relationship to the song completely changed in an instant, and I was overcome with emotion in a new way that I’ve never even processed. So it’s kind of fun that the songs can change for us as we move along. They’re, in some ways, fixed in a period of time, but they’re also these kinds of living things that ask to be re-interfaced with.

Q: Just to fact check – you made ‘Transatlanticism’ after Ben (and producer-keyboardist Jimmy Tamborello and singer Jenny Lewis) had done the Postal Service record?

A: Yes, he had been writing all of the material for both of the records concurrently. It just so happened that as he was in the demoing process he started mailing stuff back and forth to Jimmy and that record came together first. And then we were recording while they were prepping that record for release.

Q: So when Ben was doing the Postal Service, what was the reaction within Death Cab? I’d imagine some bands might be nervous about their singer-songwriter working on a different project.

A: We were all very cool with it. We had a long history in this band of encouraging members to kind of moonlight and do other projects on the side in between Death Cab stuff. And Ben was always clear with us that this was never going to be something that was going to become his (main group).

Death Cab’s always been Ben’s sort of vehicle. It’s been his center. So there was no world where the Postal Service suddenly was going to be his new thing and Death Cab wasn’t.

The fact that (‘Give Up) went on to be a runaway hit I think surprised everyone, including Ben. Certainly there was some adjustment period where some fans were coming to Death Cab shows expecting to hear Postal Service songs and couldn’t quite get their heads wrapped around that we were separate bands. We didn’t even know that material, but that kind of faded and it was fine.

Q: Why do you think ‘Transatlantacism’ connected so strongly with fans and propelled Death Cab to the next level?

A: Some of it was a result of just the years we had put in on the road and with the previous three albums. But I think that record sort of really started to connect and take off because there was kind of a cultural shift that was happening in 2003-2004. You had Modest Mouse’s ‘Float On’ suddenly being a huge radio hit. You had the Shins showing up in major motion pictures. You had licensing opportunities for bit TV shows suddenly coming to a lot of bands that were our peers. That we had been touring with in relative obscurity for a while and suddenly were a little bit more of the musical conversation.

Q: I have to ask you about ‘The OC’ – your songs weren’t just in the background, the character Seth was a huge Death Cab fan and the band eventually played itself on the show.

A: It was just kind of surreal. It was this time when things were starting to happen, like I said, for bands of our ilk. The Shins had ‘New Slang’ in a McDonalds commercial. And there was luck. All of these opportunities that were coming our way. So it started with, ‘Hey, can we use a snippet of one of your songs in a show,’ and we said sure.

We didn’t know they would take the creative license to write us into the scripts. I think at first we were sort of like whatever. Then there was a moment when we were all a little bit slightly nervous about it. We would run into people that would be like, ‘Oh, “The OC” made you, you were nobodies until “The OC.”‘

But this was kind of concurrently happening with the rise of the internet, and so I think pretty people figured out our story and could understand what had happened. The thing that I think probably surprised us the most was just the reach that show had internationally. We showed up in Singapore and there are thousands of fans in Singapore suddenly. They’re like, ‘Oh, (we) saw you on “The OC.””

Q: How does this tour work? Does Death Cab always play first and then the Postal Service?

A: Yeah, it works out that way mainly because of the scarcity of the Postal Service touring and playing shows. They’re a bit more of a draw in that way, the valuable commodity. But also just the tone of that record is more upbeat and dance-centric in some ways, and the Death Cab record is a fairly moody journey from start to finish.

I think there was some question of whether or not Ben was going to be able to do it and what that would be like for him. Just sort of more psychologically. Physically, and having the stamina to pull that off was never in question because it kind of falls within our normal show length that we’d been doing for years.

Q: So when Death Cab finishes ‘Transatlanticism’ what do you and the the guys do when Ben goes back out for ‘Give Up’?

A: When Death Cab is on stage, we’re all in black. We’ve committed to a certain color palette in the lights. And then when Postal Service comes out they’re dressed all in white and the lights switch to a different color palate.

Dave (Depper) who plays guitar in Death Cab switches and plays with Postal Service as well. Jason (McGeer, Death Cab’s drummer) jumps up and plays on a couple of Postal Service songs live. And Zac (Rae, Death Cab’s keyboardist) and I, we switch clothes to white and we all come back at the end.

Q: It sounds different, but fun for you, too.

A: It has been fun for me, because, you know, I was the first tour manager on the very first national Postal Service tour years ago. So I have really fond memories of driving around in a van with Ben and Jenny and Jimmy. This is before the record even really started to hit. We’re playing these small little clubs.

And now it’s just been so fun to watch the show every night and watch all these people just have these really powerful emotional experiences with that record and those things. It’s a different form of nostalgia for me. I’m not actually playing music, but I can also track growth from the beginning until now. That’s nice, you know?

Mercer county symphonic band presents free concert may 22, varied program includes traditional marches, contemporary favorites.

West Windsor, N.J.  – The Mercer County Symphonic Band will present its annual Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre. The event is free and open to the public, and available via live stream at https://vimeo.com/event/3387522.

The performance presents a variety of music that includes traditional marches, rock and roll hits from the 1960s, and Irving Berlin showstoppers. The concert concludes with the band’s traditional rendition of John Philip Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”

The symphonic band was initially formed in 1979 by the MCCC music department when musicians from the community were invited to play along with the students. The ensemble soon became recognized as the county’s community band, then in 2000 it was designated the Mercer County Symphonic Band. For the past 25 years, the band has been under the direction of Dr. Lou Woodruff.

“The band is not really about the music – it’s about all of the members,” Woodruff said. “It’s the band members who recreate the music and the audience members who share in that celebration.”

In addition to presenting annual winter and spring concerts at the Kelsey Theatre and accompanying functions at the college, the band performs for area retirement communities and at community events.

The Mercer County Symphonic Band is in its 45th season, with 55 participating musicians spanning seven decades in age. The band is open to all interested musicians without audition. Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m., September through June, in the Music Suite on MCCC's West Windsor campus. For more information, visit www.mercerband.org .

The Mercer County Symphonic Band is supported by the Liberal Arts Division of MCCC, with funding from the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission through a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to star in 'Road Diary' on Hulu, Disney+

2 minute read.

What's life like backstage with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band?

Find out in “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band,” which debuts on Hulu and Disney+ in October. The documentary has “exclusive footage” from E Street's current tour, beginning in January 2023 with rehearsals at the Vogel in the Count Base Center for the Arts in Red Bank. There are also interviews with band members, including Springsteen, and concert footage.

Thom Zimny, a frequent Springsteen collaborator, is the director.

“ 'Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band' opens a new door to Springsteen’s creative process for fans around the world, sharing fly-on-the-wall footage of band rehearsals and special moments backstage — as well as hearing from Springsteen himself,” states a Hulu/Disney+ release. “These conversations follow Springsteen closely as he develops the story he wants to tell with this tour’s setlist — interspersed with rare archival clips of the E Street Band, underscoring themes of life, loss, mortality and community. In this way, it serves as an essential and never-before-seen chapter in an autobiographical series spanning Springsteen’s memoir 'Born to Run,' 'Springsteen on Broadway,' and the films 'Western Stars' and 'Letter to You.' ”

The tour began Feb. 1, 2023, in Tampa, and was marked by positive critical reviews — and a rash of absences by E Street Band members because of COVID. Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren, Jake Clemons, Soozie Tyrell and Lisa Lowell all missed shows.

Several shows were also postponed due to an undisclosed illness, and for a Springsteen illness, as stated for two shows at Citizens Bank Ballpark in Philadelphia last August.

After three triumphant shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (Aug. 30, and Sept. 1 and 3), Springsteen announced the tour was postponed for the rest of the year as he battled peptic ulcer disease.

“The last four shows, I was playing really ill,” said Springsteen March 21 on SiriusXM's E Street Radio with Jim Rotolo. “So that was Foxborough, which was a great show, and the three Meadowlands shows, which were all, really — the band playing at its best and in front of a great New Jersey audience and a great Boston audience. But I was really not well.”

The tour resumed March 19 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, and its currently in Ireland, where shows are running over three hours.

The exact date for the debut of “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band” has not been released yet.

Gavin Rossdale Encourages Fans to Come 'See a Bit of Art' as Bush Hits the Road This Summer (Exclusive)

The band's Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour is part of Livenation's Concert Week this year, where tickets to over 5,000 shows are available for $25

Sarah Michaud is the senior news editor of PEOPLE's music vertical. She has been working at PEOPLE for 16 years.

With many top artists hitting the road this summer, now's your chance to snap up tickets for only $25! Livenation's annual Concert Week is back again this year, with over 900 artists touring over 5,000 shows that are available at up to 75% off from May 8-14.

The promotion encompasses multiple genres from pop, rock, country, R&B. metal, hip-hop and more, including artists like 21 Savage , Maren Morris , New Kids on the Block , Peso Pluma and Janet Jackson .

Among the participants for 2023 is rock band Bush, whose frontman Gavin Rossdale tells PEOPLE he knows that oftentimes, just getting out to a show can be quite the expense.

"Whenever anyone can just see a bit of culture and a bit of art and it doesn't have to be so expensive, then that's great," the rocker, 58, says. "I'm so happy to be part of it because I know it often ends up costing a lot of money. People can't even come to the shows because they can get quite expensive. You've got the parking and you want to have a couple of drinks, maybe eat. And if we are lucky, maybe pick up a bit of merch ... suddenly it's crazy! So to give people a break with this lower ticket price is super cool."

Rossdale, who will celebrate the 30th anniversary of breakthrough Bush album Sixteen Stone later this year, is already on the road this spring, but will turn up the heat as the band heads out on their Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour starting in July.

"It's been a brilliant kind of development I hadn't expected," he says of the success of last year's Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023 . Rossdale had previously told PEOPLE he'd had to come around to the idea — "taking stock and looking retrospectively at myself is just not something that comes naturally," he says now — but it's ultimately been a positive experience for the band.

"The best thing about this job is there are no rules, What it did is it galvanized the connection between a load of people somehow," explains Rossdale. "It's taken us a long time to get to this point and that's just by bringing people with us, you know what I mean? It didn't just happen."

He continues, "I'm so flattered by it. I hope it feels like it comes from such a genuine enthusiasm for what I chose to devote my life to."

Along with the hits, the Bush tour may include some more recently crafted tunes, as Rossdale lets it slip that "there'll be a new song this summer that I'm really excited about." Never satisfied to rest on his laurels — "it doesn't even sound very comfortable, if you think about it," he jokes — the musician reveals that he has the majority of the band's next album already in the can.

"Ten songs done, so I'm happy about that," Rossdale says. "It really invigorates the tour for me to have competed a new record. I like this pace. You want to keep on your toes to keep good!"

For tickets to see Bush on tour this summer for $25, as well as any of the other hundreds of artists participating, visit Livenation's annual Concert Week website now.

Taylor Swift made big changes to Eras Tour. What to know about set list, 'Tortured Poets'

PARIS, France — Who's afraid of little old Taylor Swift adding an additional set to her already extensive Eras Tour setlist ? The singer revivified her magnum opus in La Défense Arena adding seven songs from "The Tortured Poets Department."

Swift rearranged the majority of the show, leaving only the "Lover," "Fearless" and "Midnights" eras in their original spots. "Folklore" and "Evermore" joined forces in one eight-song set. Swift also debuted several new outfits and cut some songs from the set list.

Toward the end of her show, Swift officially launched the long-awaited “The Tortured Poets Department” section of the tour after the 1989 era.

Live from Paris: Taylor Swift's Eras Tour begins again in France

Swift performed the track “But Daddy I Love Him” off the April 19 album for her ecstatic fans while wearing a new beige dress with cursive letters.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

A road spiraled down the catwalk in an animation to initiate the era. The background animation showed a deserted road while large cages animated and fell on the road.

“Oh my god you should see your faces,” she sang.

She quickly segwayed into a brief moment of “So High School,” the beloved track speculated to be about her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She then performed the powerhouse anthem “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me.”

Swift switched to “Down Bad” before seamlessly transitioning into the lead single “Fortnight.” Stage production recreated an asylum that resembled the music video for the song with Post Malone, whose recorded harmony played concluding the song.

Dancers entered the stage in a marching band style format playing drums as she performed the wrath-fueled song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.” Dancers Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders then revived Swift in a jazzy skit to set up “I Can Do With A Broken Heart,” where she debuted another new outfit.

“The End” text displayed wrapping up the era that’s likely here to stay. Other beloved tracks like “Guilty As Sin” and “Florida!” did not make the cut.

At the start of the secret set, Swift described the "Tortured Poets" set as "Female Rage: The Musical." Fans then got to hear another song from the new album as she played heartbreaking ballad "loml" on the piano as part of her acoustic set.

Set list: Taylor Swift unveils new Eras Tour in Paris with 'Tortured Poets' tracks

'The Tortured Poets Department' songs added to set list

Swift added these seven new songs from "Tortured Poets" to her set list:

  • "But Daddy I Love Him"
  • "So High School"
  • "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me"
  • "Fortnight"
  • "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived"
  • "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart"

The eras in a new order

Swift switched up the order of her eras in the set list. Here's how the new show proceeds:

  • "Speak Now"
  • "Reputation"
  • "Folklore" and "Evermore" combined
  • "The Tortured Poets Department"
  • Acoustic set of rotating, secret songs
  • "Midnights"

Check out the entire new set list here .

Songs cut from the Eras Tour set list

Swift gave a preview of the songs cut from her show in the first release of her Eras Tour movie. To be fair, she incorporated opening act Paramore during the "Speak Now" set to sing "Castles Crumbling" after "Enchanted."

  • "Lover": "The Archer"
  • "Evermore": "'Tis the Damn Season" and "Tolerate It"
  • "Speak Now": "Long Live"
  • "Folklore": "The 1" and "The Last Great American Dynasty"

The tortured poet debuted the new set in front of 40,000-plus fans at La Défense Arena in Paris.
