Queen + Adam Lambert’s 150-minute career-spanning set list celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up wall-to-wall immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites. Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over.

As with last year’s UK and European dates, the 2023 North American tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

Having extensively toured over the last few years, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. But it remains at heart a tribute to Freddie Mercury’s majestic legacy, a confirmation of Brian and Roger’s undimmed musical prowess, plus a magnificent showcase for Adam’s vocal skills and electrifying stage charisma, all of which adds up to a glorious full-blooded celebration of one of the greatest songbooks in rock history. TICKETS: Tickets will be available via a general onsale beginning Friday, March 31st at 10AM local time at LiveNation.com .

MORE ON TICKETS:

Queen + Adam Lambert appreciate that it is an enormous task to try and stop scalpers from taking advantage of fans wanting to purchase tickets for the tour. In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for The Rhapsody Tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.

Fans will still have protection against unforeseen circumstances. Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using a face value ticket exchange, including the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange – which is free to use for buyers and sellers. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here .

Unfortunately, the states of NY, IL, and CO have laws in place which protect ticket scalpers – these laws prohibit artists from being able to restrict the transfer of their tickets to face value exchanges only. For shows in these states, Queen + Adam Lambert strongly encourage fans to only buy or sell tickets to one another on face value exchanges. More information can be found here , with more details to follow in the coming weeks.

Queen + Adam Lambert Unveil North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates: ‘These Are New Glory Days’

Queen Adam Lambert

“These are kind of new glory days for us,” said Queen guitarist and founding member Brian May, who was literally knighted by King Charles III earlier this month. “It’s nice to think that hopefully there will be the demand for that.”

But the guitarist, along with founding drummer Roger Taylor and singer Adam Lambert , was on the other side of the Atlantic in Thursday, in New York to announce the group’s 14-show North American leg of its “Rhapsody” tour — its first since 2019 — which runs from Oct. 4 through Nov. 11.

Popular on Variety

Shows on the overseas “Rhapsody” tour dates featured around 25 songs plus four encore numbers, and included the hits “Killer Queen,” “Fat Bottomed Girls, “Another One Bites the Dust, “We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions” and the song with more than 2 billion Spotify streams that lent its title to a film and this tour, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Queen promises some deeper cuts on this jaunt. Lambert says, “I’m not sure exactly what we’ll pull out for this one. Look, I would be happy just to show up and do what I was told if that was how it was. But I’ve been really fortunate to work with these two gentlemen who are very collaborative, and we get to all throw ideas in and work things out. I’m really grateful for that it makes me even more invested in it.

It’s been a decade since the group’s first live American concert, though the first time they performed was in 2009 when May and Taylor were guests on the eighth season of “Idol.” May remembers the first actual American concert in Las Vegas in 2013 for the iHeart Music Festival: “It felt so good both internally and from the [crowd] reaction that we thought, ‘My God, this is something we shouldn’t be letting go.’ I think we foresaw some kind of future, didn’t we? But not quite as big as it actually happened. It’s been colossal.”

Lambert agreed, “I don’t think I would have imagined that it would have been the gift that keeps on giving.”

The current Rhapsody tour features Queen + Adam Lambert’s regular band members, longtime keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren. Founding bassist John Deacon left the band and effectively retired from music following Freddie Mercury’s 1991 death, and chose not to be present at Queen’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Despite a 30-year-plus age difference between Lambert, 41, and May, 75 and Taylor, 73, the three have an easy camaraderie that’s evident both onstage and off. Lambert was only three when Queen’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance rocked the world, but it was something he got to recreate at the Fire Fight fundraiser concert in Sydney, Australia in February 2020, a month before Covid shut down the world.

As a fan growing up, Lambert was familiar with Queen’s Live Aid footage. “But when it came time to first join the band on stage, I was like, ‘I have to know my stuff’ so I watched as much as I could. Besides Live Aid, one of my favorite things was Montreal concert where Freddie was running around in a pair of itty bitty white shorts and no shoes,” Lambert says. “I just I remember seeing that and going ‘This guy’s amazing.’ He was so free and ridiculous and just full of joy and I’ve been so inspired by that spirit. I try to approach shows with that same humor…”

“And shorts?” Taylor quipped.

“Not the shorts for me — Freddie had much better legs,” Lambert concluded.

A general on sale date for the Queen + Adam Lambert  U.S. tour is March 31, and in light of exorbitant ticket prices and “dynamic pricing,” the band stated in a release that “In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for the Rhapsody tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.”

Queen + Adam Lambert Announce ‘The Rhapsody Tour’ Fall 2023 North American Dates

Queen + Adam Lambert are back to rock North America one more time, announcing fall North American dates for "The Rhapsody Tour."

The trek is set to launch Oct. 4 in Baltimore, Maryland and will hit stops in the U.S. and Canada through a Nov. 11 finale in Los Angeles. See all of the dates, cities and venues listed toward the bottom of the page.

For fans wondering, Queen view the show as an evolution of the performances that they were putting on prior to the pandemic. "We were changing it and improving it as we went, and we are now going through all of those improvements again when it comes to this American leg," says drummer Roger Taylor to Billboard .

When asked about the changes to the set and production, guitarist Brian May was coy, explaining, "Well, we’re not gonna tell you that much, we don’t want to spoil it. [laughs] But the nice things is that the material is what ultimately gives the ideas, and we’re able to develop those ideas as we go along. We get to throw more and more stuff in, production-wise."

Lambert chimed in, "I will say, the technology has come so far, even in the 10 years that we’ve worked together. It gives us so much freedom when it comes to what we want to create, what environment we want to put around a song. We have all of these toys that we get to play with, which we all get a big kick out of. We have an amazing creative team that work with us — I mean, we add something in a couple of days if we have a cool idea. Once the show kicks off, the show is never locked. It’s never the same show every night, we have the ability to throw a new song in, move the set around, change the visuals. There’s so much freedom."

As for whether or not this is the band's final run, May commented, "Let me be clear, this is not a farewell tour. You can always do one more time … and then one more time … and then another time after that!"

Tickets for "The Rhapsody Tour" will go on sale next Friday (March 31) at 10AM local time via Live Nation .

Adam Lambert is a singer, songwriter and actor hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, US who was born on the 29th of January 1982. His career truly began after coming second in the 2009 season of American Idol, since then he’s released two hit solo albums and is currently fronting Queen.

Adam Lambert could serve as a justification for every single music reality show we’ve had to endure for the past decade and a half or so. He’s a man talented enough to be a success any way he so pleased, he’s just chose to make it happen through the medium of American Idol, and fair play to him. Especially when being on that show means that he can be the first ever openly gay solo artist to top the Billboard 200, if that’s not an undeniable good move and sign of genuine cultural progress, I don’t know what is.

Lambert was born in Indianapolis, however his family moved to San Diego, California soon after he was born. He was a musical child from the get go, getting involved with local theatre productions and performing with the Metropolitan Educational Theatre network. His teenage years were spent pretty much entirely around theatres and performing arts companies, even during his high school years he took part in choirs and the jazz band among many others. By 19 he had his first professional performing job as a cruise ship singer and by 21, he was cast in a European tour of the hit rock musical Hair.

From 2001 until 2008 Lambert cut his teeth performing any which way he could. That period of time saw him fronting bands and working as a session singer while still performing on stage any way that he could. He saw some success at it as well, in 2004 he was performing opposite Val Kilmer in a production of The Ten Commandments: The Musical, and he was understudying in major productions like one for Wicked in 2005. However come 2009 he would become something very special indeed.

While spending a week at the Burning Man festival in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, Lambert had what he described as “a psychedelic experience” where he realized that he had the power to do whatever he wanted with his life, and with that freedom in mind, he auditioned for American Idol. Lambert was an utter sensation on the show, captivating everyone with every single performance that he made and was pretty much robbed of the top spot by some vanishing act called Kris Allen. However, the general consensus was that Lambert was going to be an enormous deal outside of Idol, and that was exactly what happened.

Since then, Lambert has continued to be a sensation in everything he’s done. His two solo albums headed straight into the top three and his second album was the first ever number one album on the Billboard 200 by an openly gay man. The world of rock has also fallen to Lambert’s charms as well, with his shows fronting Queen selling out and getting rave reviews the world over. A common complaint with artists who find fame through a talent show is that they haven’t truly “earned” their success like other artists have. One look at Lambert’s back story will tell you that this is far from true, and he’s only just reached his prime. We’re going to be seeing a lot more of him for a long time, and any pop fan around should be very, very glad of that fact. Highly recommended.

Live reviews

Adam Lambert is a brilliant singer in his own right. He is "entertainment plus". I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the concert fri night. His voice is out of this world. "I can't speak highly enough"of him. He kept everybody entertained all night. He's a great showman and the perfect choice for Queens frontman. I saw Adam at the palais theatre also, and he was fantastic. I will always go too see him when he's in Melbourne. I'm hoping that one day, I will be able too meet him in person and have a chat and a picture taken with him. Adam has a terrific sense of humour and made people laugh with his antics. He is a true showman all the way. He interacted with the crowd extremely well. He works so hard, and deserves all that is good in this world. He is tops in my book. Adam covered the songs of Queen with ease. I would have liked too have heard a few more of his songs. He's a star, in every sense of the word. He's worth every penny, too go and see, and witness this great entertainer in action. He sounds just as good live, as he does on CDs. I came away from the concert with such a buzz. It was great too hear Brian say, " that they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Adam". I'm looking forward too seeing some more concerts of Adams in the future. The concert was such fun. I enjoyed singing along with Adam and Queen. I wasn't disappointed with any aspect of the show. Thanks for a really great night Adam you are amazing. Loved your outfits. I hope Adam and Queen enjoyed doing the show just as much as I loved watching it.

Thanks for a great night, Trisha Mac

Okay, this was my first concert, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I really think that that is irrelevant. THIS SHOW COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER! This light show, the videos, the presentation, were all perfection. The band members were amazing and gave their all; phenomenal work! And then there was Adam Lambert...I didn't know it was possible for a human to hit notes like that! I felt an electrical thrill run through me every time he hit a falsetto, and then he'd pull it down to a soft tender note, and I would shiver all the way down to my toes from the emotion he put into it. No one could stop themselves from dancing and singing along. It was infectious. The atmosphere that was created was ethereal, raw, powerful, and completely out of this world. If you have concerts to this show, you will have the time of your life without a doubt! Savour every moment! I would go again in a heartbeat.

In a word - spectacular!!

Lambert can flat out sing - an exceptional talent with an on stage presence that has matured. And it's clear that he's focused on ensuring people know he's about love and tolerance.

Just like at CMT earlier this week where he sang Girl Crush to an awe struck crowd in Nashville, Lambert simply crushed it in SD on Dec 4 playing a 45 minute set to his home town crowd.

New hit Ghost Town was his opening song and then onto Original High and Evil in the Night and the newly promoted Another Lonely Night. Adam also performed a few of his older hits to the delight of the nearly 3,000 attendees. The song quality of Adam's performance was the best of the night following Andy Grammer, Echosmith and Elle King who all performed admirably. It was Lambert, however, that folks came to see and his did not disappoint.

Im lucky, it wasnt my first Adam Lambert concert! And it wont he my last! He was simply wonderful - his voice & stage presence were superb & of course he was as handsome as ever.

I saw Queen & Freddie in 1977, & whilst Brian, Roger & the team were also unforgetable on Saturday night, with Brians guitar expertise out of this world; but as usual Adam stole the show.

Ive been a huge fan of his since 2009 when he sang Mad World on Idol on my Birthday that year - hes well schooled & such a gentleman with a crazy sense of humour - so I find it hard not to watch him sing etc. In the past 18nths Ive cut down on TV & watch Adam on youtube many nights each week. Hes truly an addiction.

Im a published writer & My greatest dream is to meet this wonderful man sometime soon. Cheers. Robina

This guy "Adam" is an absolute master.

He commands his voice so well, highs, lows, and on and on and on, I have now seen him front Queen 3 times across Australia. He is not here to replace Freddie (no-one can). but to bring us the great Queen music from when Freddie was alive, for us all to celebrate in today's times. Adam has the charm, cheekiness & charisma that I think Freddie would have approved of, Brain & Roger do ! obviously, after 8 years he is still touring with them.

I would love to see Adam (only) live, but I believe his passion will still shine through, it is hard to believe he is now 38yo. From watching him on Idol to watching him on stage just the other night, he is going to be a legend of our time.

Thank you Adam

To see Adam Lambert perform at Fall Fest from Fresh 102.7 radio station was a delight. I didn't really care about other artists playing that night. And they were little boring. But when Adam came out, the theater came alive. The choice of songs was great. Most from his newest album (The ogirinal High) and his biggest hit "What do you want from me". And his voice....The best. He interacted with the audience (like always), never disappointing his fans. I just wish he played more songs. I understand that there is a limit to how many songs artists can sing where you have several of them performing, but I can't get enough. I hope he is going to tour by himself.

queen + adam lambert was a great show. adam tries hard to act with the spirit of freגdie and still be unique so far it works.

the other band members also gave great and unique improv for a change.

the only downside perfomance wise, it was way too short, i would love new materials and to see classics like bicycle race, let me entertain you and i'm in love with my car live.

another con, relates to the production in israel. don't know if it gets to them, but it was very poor. bad venue, strict finishing hour, bad acoustics, too crowded for the venue both by parking which wasn't managed and viewpoints of the stage.

The Queen concert was brilliant in every way & I hope to see -at least- another one in London in July. The 2nd of July is already planned so I hope there is another after that? I also hope to see one of Adams own concerts sometime this year.

Adam is the greatest Singer & Showman on this planet; & being so handsome makes him so much easier to enjoy. Of course, the boys from Queen having so much talent makes them also easy to listen to, however Adam outshines everyone.

Ive been an Adam fan for 9years now & I wont change.

Songkick - please keep me informed of all of Adams performances.

Cheers. Robina

What a show! From the moment he strode out with the confidence of a young George Michael, to the closing number, Adam Lambert was phenomenal. He has grown into the role of Queen front man with all the glory and flare of Freddy, while retaining his own sense of style and humour. His vocals were perfection as always, soaring notes that carried the crowd to places that touched their souls. Great moments when he was dancing like no one was watching. You could not help but be carried by his joy of being on stage doing what he loves. A great performer, a beautiful soul, a wonderful experience.

Maryland governor signs bill banning the sale of speculative tickets

Queen and Adam Lambert In Concert

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Thursday signed into law a bill that aims to protect consumers from ticket scalpers and resellers.

The legislation is the latest to combat unfair ticketing practices, an issue that has gained significant traction since the sale of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour tickets in 2022. A Minnesota bill named after Swift was signed into law on Wednesday , requiring ticket price transparency and prohibiting resellers from offering the same ticket more than once.

The bill was first introduced in January by state Sens. Dawn Gile, Brian Feldman, Pamela Beidle and Arthur Ellis.

In a phone interview, Gile said that the bill will create a "fairer landscape" for consumers and prevent them from getting "tricked into paying more than what they should be paying."

"There was a lot of attention on this bill, and I think it's because people are just so outraged by how expensive tickets are," Gile said.

Resellers will be prohibited from selling speculative tickets, which are tickets that are not currently in the seller’s possession.

Resellers will also be required to disclose the total price of a ticket, including taxes and fees. They must also issue refunds to ticket purchasers if a ticket turns out to be counterfeit, if the event is canceled or if the ticket does not match what was advertised.

The law goes into effect on July 1. Maryland will become the first state to fine resellers and platforms that offer speculative tickets.

Moore said in a statement that the law will “help lower costs” for Maryland residents hoping to enjoy live events in the state’s venues.

“Resale markets have put rapidly rising costs on consumers and this will help our state protect people from unnecessary price hikes,” Moore said.

Similar legislation has been proposed on a federal level but has yet to move past committee.

The Fans First Act, introduced in December by a bipartisan group of senators, also seeks to ban the sale of speculative tickets and prohibit other deceptive ticketing practices.

Last month, over 250 artists , including Billie Eilish, Green Day and Chappell Roan, signed a letter in support of the legislation.

“We are joining together to say that the current system is broken: predatory resellers and secondary platforms engage in deceptive ticketing practices to inflate ticket prices and deprive fans of the chance to see their favorite artists at a fair price," the letter read.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
