This spring, Villanova Law students visited the Supreme Court of the United States on a trip for the Law and Religion course. At the Court, students had the opportunity to meet with Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. and visited the courtroom for a lecture by a member of the curator’s office. The students also visited the law firm Jones Day and met with Noel Francisco, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Washington office and former solicitor general of the United States.

Road trip to Villanova, Lehigh and Lafayette

Hi there, We are planning a “road trip” over Easter weekend to see Lehigh, Lafayette, and Villanova. We have tours booked for two of these (one on Saturday and on on Monday). Unfortunately, Villanova has no “official tours” due to Easter week, so we will do a self guided tour there on Saturday. We plan to drive from Boston, but would be curious of any suggestions on how to nagivate this…are we best to drive or fly and rent a car? What would you suggest for places to stay? Any insights at all would be appreciated!

When we visited Villanova and Lehigh we stayed in Philadelphia. We found an AirBnB near the Thomas Jefferson Med School/Hospital complex. It was very quaint and historic and had a great loft. We drove our own car and had no trouble getting around, though parking in Philly was complex.

We did not see Villanova but did see Lehigh and Lafayette, drove from Upstate NY over spring break and also saw a few others. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Bethlehem. If you are looking for restaurant recommendations, I suggest Fegley’s Brew Works in Bethlehem or Cactus Blue in Bethlehem, if you like Mexican.

I would drive. If your scheduled tour at Lehigh or Lafayette is in the afternoon, you could drive to Villanova on Friday, self tour Villanova in the morning, drive to Lehigh/Lafayette in the afternoon and then stay overnight in Bethlehem or Easton. Then, check out the area on Sunday and do your second scheduled tour on Monday.

I grew up in the Lehigh Valley and my parents lived in the area until recently. If you need a lunch near Lehigh, I recommend sandwiches at the Gooseman downhill from campus. You can walk or take a tour of Historic Bethlehem across the river from Lehigh.

A little bit of driving but with your scheduled tours on Sat and Monday, you might want to consider doing your first tour on Sat, then driving and spending the night at Villanova (Randor Hotel Inn at Villanova, or look at the Marriots in Conshokoken. Have dinner in Wayne PA or in Bryn Mawr then self tour Villanova on Sunday. If you feel adventurous you can easily take a tour through Bryn Mawr, Haverford or St Joe’s if there is any interest. Then head back to Bethlehem Sunday night for the tour on Monday

I was literally typing something very similar to @Novacat9191 . I think that’s a good plan.

If you want to get into Philly, it’s a 20 min. ride. I wouldn’t fly for this itinerary…it doesn’t work well with the Sat/Mon tours up north.

For the drive home on Monday, I’d take the long way and avoid the Geo. Washington Bridge or the Tappan Zee/Mario Cuomo Bridge. Head a little bit north and cross the Hudson at the Beacon Newburgh Bridge on I-84. Then a straight shot until the Mass Pike.

Second The Goose in Bethlehem for a good cheap lunch.

DD is a first year Villanova student in VSB and also tour guide. There is a “Villanova University Guides” app that has a self-tour of Villanova University with map, recommended route, photos, linked videos and other information you might find helpful.

The rolling stones are back on tour—and their performance on the charts shows people’s excitement.

The Rolling Stones launched their new Hackney Diamonds Tour in late April, and fans of the band turned out in huge numbers to see them live, as they always do. As the group continues their American and Canadian trek, interest in their catalog is climbing.

This week, the Rolling Stones’ most successful greatest hits compilation is gaining ground. The set is on the rise on the two Billboard charts it appears on, and it’s entirely possible that this lift is connected directly to their recently-launched tour.

Hot Rocks 1964-1971 lifts double-digit spaces on the Billboard 200, the weekly ranking of the most-consumed albums in the country. This frame, the compilation jumps from No. 193 to No. 176. Movement of a few spaces usually isn’t a sign of anything major happening with a band, singer, or piece of music…but more than 10 rungs at one time suggests something exciting is going on.

According to Luminate, Hot Rocks 1964-1971 moved another 8,463 equivalent units in the past tracking period. That’s up more than 7% from the week before, which is also a sign that it’s not just the title that’s climbing, but actual consumption of the project.

Streaming activity is responsible for almost all of those nearly 8,500 equivalent units. Hot Rocks 1964-1971 only sold 247 copies last week throughout the entire U.S.

Over on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, Hot Rocks 1964-1971 is growing as well. On that genre-specific tally, the compilation rises from No. 48 to No. 44. That’s not as dramatic an improvement as on the Billboard 200, but it does show advancement.

Cannes Film Festival 2024: Stars Arrive On Red Carpet For Annual Event

Televisaunivision 2024-25 slate touts latino culture, vix growth, juanpa zurita, william levy deals, judge says up to 20 million fintech depositors are at risk from synapse bankruptcy.

The Rolling Stones may be in the beginning of a chart surge, and there’s a chance that Hot Rocks 1964-1971 could continue to climb in the next few weeks. It’s also entirely possible that this excitement may die down now that their tour is in full swing, and the set could decline in popularity once again. How the compilation performs as they travel around the U.S. is yet to be seen, but clearly Americans are still in love with the group’s earliest smashes.

Tiger Woods Was Inches Away From Acing 8th Hole at PGA Championship

Patrick andres | 8 hours ago.

May 16, 2024; Louisville, Kentucky, USA; Tiger Woods walks on the eighth hole during the first round of the PGA Championship.

This has hardly been a PGA Championship to remember for Tiger Woods, who spent much of the second round Friday mired in the 100s on the leaderboard.

Woods, however, conjured a vision of his old self for one hole only—the par-3, 173-yard 8th.

A precision tee shot on the hole landed the 48-year-old squarely on the green—four inches from a hole in one—and drew roars from the Louisville crowd. A short putt then netted Woods his second straight birdie.

This week marks Woods's return to the course where he won the PGA Championship in 2000 , besting fellow American Bob May in a playoff that made him the first to win three majors in a calendar year since 1953.

WOW! Tiger Woods nearly ACES the 8th hole! 🐯 #PGAChamp pic.twitter.com/RU2DMW3VyJ — PGA Championship (@PGAChampionship) May 17, 2024

In the 2014 PGA Championship—the last major tournament held at Valhalla Golf Club—Woods missed the cut.

He may be headed that way again this tournament, but for at least one hole he turned back time and gave fans a moment to remember.
