Went with my French husband, our kids, his brother and his family and my belle mere. We were 10. This was my first all inclusive experience. I understand that it may not live up to Club Med standards (I wouldn't know), but we had a wonderful time. Everyone was super friendly and very forgiving of my American accented French. Most everyone spoke English. The food was really good. One night, though, there was nothing my very picky kids would eat and one of the chefs offered to saute turkey breasts for them, it was great. My biggest complaint would be NO DIET COKE, what the??? Luckily one can find this in town at the supermarkets, whew! Our room was on the far right side and away from all the speakers. The staff that runs the events (aquagym, archery, volleyball, theater, etc.) were funny, kind and very down to earth (easy to talk to). We did some day travel events. The only one I wouldn't care to do again is the one that's like Ali Baba in Disney, I was sick and I'm pretty sure it was from the food. We had an excellent deal out of Toulouse airport which inluded airfare, meals, hotel, transportation, etc. We would definitely go back. It was also a great cultural experience for my children and myself included.

Highlights of Morocco
The tour was nice and we had a lot of free time. For the negative points, they do match exactly to other reviews. 4 x 4 desert excursion was/is not a desert excursion. We saw a community garden, a 10 minute music show and we met a nomadic family. It was nice to meet the nomadic family, great experience, but the desert part was totally missing. An overpriced desert excursion with the most important part missing. The tour description should be changed. A lot of overpriced tourism shops stop. It's part of the deal doing tours like this, but the stops should be planned in order to allow a traveller to see something of the city. In Fez we spent a lot of time in a pottery shop in the morning, we had no time to see the medina properly and in the end we did nothing in the afternoon. As it was friday, all was closed in the medina in the afternoon. Wrong planning. The hike was: "Let's rush up the mountain and then you have the afternoon free." Soak up nature, the view and the local people you meet? Nope. I was told that we needed to get to the hostel as quickly as possible and that we would have time for us once we arrived. I went up with the group, down and up again alone and was back at the hostel a few minutes before dinner. Not sure if a hike like this makes sense? I normally start the tour giving the basic tip and if I am very happy, at the end of the trip, I give a little extra. The tour guide refused the money telling me that I have to give the tip separately for him and the driver and that I can give it at the end. Well, at the end I gave zero tip. He was actually a good guide, he knows his job, but he said two things that are a no go for me. One was in relation to an experience he had with a traveller in a previous tour. What happens in a group should stay in the group if the event does touch the personal sphere of a traveller. A tour guide should NOT/NEVER "sell" a mental health issue as something funny and not normal. Two days before the end of the tour we had our goodbye dinner. We had a goodbye round at the restaurant as a few of the group decided to stay there longer and once we arrived at the hotel, I said goodbye, waved my hand and left without to give a tip. The morning after, at breakfast only two travellers of my group were not there and I was very surprised that the person at my table did not respond twice to my greeting attempt as I had a good time with her. It soon came out that the guide informed that I gave zero tip, adding that I gave him a hard time. I was asked by a traveller what happened because she did not notice that something was wrong. No one noticed, because I never complained. They were there to enjoy holidays not to listen to my complaints. I did not complain for the full tour. I was unhappy about the attitude he had twice and I decided to give no tip. End of story. The person that did not respond to my hello asked other group members to please write a review about how great Abdul was even if a traveller gave him a hard time. No idea what the guide told this lady about me and I actually don't care at all. Unnecessary and pointless behavior for getting no tip. If he had a problem with me, he had to tell me and not the rest of the group. Unfair to include the full group in an issue that was not an issue. As mentioned before, mental health issues of previous travelers are private. They are not funny stories to tell to future travellers. A bad way to end a trip that was really nice.

Private 5 days from Casablanca to Marrakech Visiting Chefchaouen, Fes & desert
I loved this trip. If you like road trips this is for you!! I honestly would have loved to been in a small group of no more than 4 people. However the private tour was just myself and my driver yassine, which was amazing, knowledgeable, and a great driver! We met other whom were also on the tour with a different driver on the stops which was great as well!! I would highly recommend this tour trip but maybe next time I’ll do 7 days so you would feel rushed or tired from city to city!! Book this you won’t regret it

Amazing Moroccan trip
Timeless Morocco
I wanted to take a moment to express my immense gratitude for the incredible experience you provided me with on the recent tour. Timeless Tours truly gave me the experience of a lifetime. The trip was nothing short of amazing, filled with authentic experiences, beautiful sites, and endless learning opportunities. It was evident that Yassin, our guide, takes immense pride in his country and in sharing his knowledge with others. His expertise on various topics such as Morocco's history, societal values, and science truly enriched our experience. Yassin was always prepared to answer any questions our group had, no matter how challenging. I also want to extend my appreciation to Jamil, our driver, who was not only professional and attentive but also made our all-female group feel exceptionally safe throughout the journey. The fluency and clarity of the guides' English made communication effortless, allowing for humor and laughter to fill our group dynamics even during the longer drives, making the experience comfortable and lighthearted. I have already shared my rave reviews about the tour with all my family and friends, and I will continue to do so. Thank you once again for creating such a memorable and enriching experience. -Nicole

5 Days Unspoiled Sahara and shooting Stars Experience
This is one of the best trip of my life, from start to finish. The places we visited were breathtaking, even the highway trip was lovely, as we stopped in places that interested us along with the already-planned steps by the tour. Our driver Daoud was the kindest person ever, very attentive and he ended up becoming a friend. The highlight of the trip was definitely staying at the desert camp! The activities are awesome and the staff is the nicest, most fun. We even extended our stay there for one more night, as Ali was very flexible and attentive. I want to come back every year. I fell in love with Morocco thanks to its surroundings, but mainly, thanks yo its people.
Totally Morocco Tour from Casablanca
The trip was very well planned out for such a jam packed 10 days. Adnan was with us most of the days and took care of us like family. Big shoutout to him! Couldn’t have had such a good experience in Morocco without him!
Around Morocco Tour (Guided tour/Superior Hotels)
Our recent tour with Vacations to Go Travel was truly exceptional. we started from Marrakech and ended the tour in Casablanca, every moment was filled with excitement and joy. Mustapha's exceptional care and attention made our journey even more special. His warmth and knowledge added to the unforgettable memories we created. Highly recommended.
Reviews of Small Group tours to Morocco
Fast paced as suggested in the brochure, covering a vast amount of territory. This gave us as the traveller a great opportunity to see various places in Morocco, The local guides were great in their knowledge,A little more general knowledge whilst travelling would have enhanced our travel even more. The Médina tours in Fez and Marrakesh were overlong and rushed. For a general overview of this diverse land this tour had it all.
Excellent tour that was well organised. A lot of places covered, always felt safe and well informed. Our host Abdul was amazing! His knowledge and experience made the trip so personal and wonderful. I feel as though after 9 days I have seen a lot of the beautiful country that is Morocco! Highly recommended.

The ideal duration of stay in Marrakech depends on your interests and travel preferences. For most travelers, 3 to 4 days in Marrakech is considered a good amount of time to explore the city’s main attractions, immerse in its vibrant culture, and experience its unique atmosphere. During this time, you can visit historical sites, wander through the bustling souks, savor local cuisine, and take a day trip to nearby attractions like the Atlas Mountains or the Ourika Valley.
Hiring a guide in Marrakech can enhance your experience, especially if you want to gain deeper insights into the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems. A knowledgeable guide can navigate the maze-like medina, provide historical context to the landmarks, and recommend local restaurants and shops. Having a guide can also be beneficial for safety and avoiding tourist traps.
Whether to opt for a guided tour in Morocco depends on your travel style and preferences. Guided tours can be a great option if you want a hassle-free experience, especially for exploring remote areas, desert trips, or multi-city itineraries. A guide can handle logistics, language barriers, and cultural nuances, allowing you to focus on enjoying the journey. However, if you prefer more flexibility and independence, self-guided travel or local guides for specific activities might be more suitable.
Spending 4 days in Marrakech is not necessarily too much, but it might depend on your interests and what you want to see and do. If you plan to use Marrakech as a base for day trips to nearby attractions like the Atlas Mountains, Ouzoud Waterfalls, or Ait Ben Haddou, then 4 days could be perfect. Additionally, if you want to take your time exploring the city, enjoying leisurely meals, and experiencing the local culture, 4 days can provide a more relaxed and immersive experience. However, if you have limited time and a packed itinerary, you might find that 3 days in Marrakech is sufficient to cover the main highlights.

Marrakech Attractions & Landmarks Guide
The word “fabled” often pops up when describing Marrakech , and this Moroccan desert oasis city certainly is that. Its most fabled attraction is the Djemaa el-Fna, a square in the middle of the medina where snake charmers, acrobats, and other colorful performers entertain nightly. The medina also has crowded souks and maze-like alleyways that lead to secluded palaces and mosques. Most Morocco tours feature a visit to this fantastic destination.
What to Do in Marrakech?
1. Shop the Souks - A “souk” is a market, and just one of the things is Marrakech is incredibly famous for. These markets sell everything you can imagine -- pottery, carpets, spices, meat, produce, jewelry -- and all at a relatively low price, if you know how to bargain for it.
Going on a guided tour is critical for visiting Marrakech’s many souks, unless you really know the area. It can be easy to get lost in the endless side streets, each with stands selling much of the same product.
2. Visit a Tannery - Marrakech is well known for its leather goods, and you will see brightly dyed pelts throughout the city. Tanneries will smell badly, and for this reason you can expect to be given a mint at the doorway, in case the scent becomes overpowering.
The tanning process can be a little gross - these are animal parts, and they do soak in bird excrement - but still a must do activity that sheds light on how traditional Moroccan life is still lived.
3. Take in the Architecture - Some of the best examples of Islamic architecture in the world are in Marrakech, and if you have never been in a Muslim country before, you are sure to be blown away. Islamic art and architecture doesn’t include any human figures, and tends to be known for bright colors, impressive symmetry, and dazzling geometric designs.
On buildings, Muslim architects are known for their domes and minarets, the Koutobia minaret being one of the most famous examples of this in Marrakech. Some of the other impressive buildings in Marrakech include the Bahia Palace, Dar Si Said, the Saadian Tombs, Marrakesh Museum, and Ali Ben Yousef Medersa, to name just a few!
Sahara Desert Tours from Marrakech
Marrakech is a only a short trip from the Sahara Desert , the largest desert in the world, so any trip to the city provides an incredible opportunity to see this natural wonder.
Driving to the sand dunes in Erg Chebbi from Marrakech is a full day of driving, so we recommend you spend at least two days in the Sahara. This way, you aren’t rushing through your bucket list items, and you have the chance to absorb all the aspects of desert life. Spending more than a day in the desert also means you’ll have a chance to spend a night sleeping under the clearest starry skies you have ever seen.
Is there a best time of year to visit the Sahara? While you definitely do not have to worry about any kind of rainy or monsoon season, there are times of year when the temperature is more mild, specifically during the traditional spring (May) and autumn (October).
In the winter (especially December through January) nighttime temperatures can drop below freezing, which is not ideal for camping. The summer months can have scorching day time temperatures and so far that reason are also not ideal.
Now that you’ve committed to visiting the Sahara, you may be wondering what to bring. If you’ve never spent the night in a desert before, you may be surprised by how greatly the temperature can change.
Although the day may be incredibly hot, nights can be chilly, so it’s important to bring a fleece or a light jacket to keep you warm. For the day, remember to bring adequate sun protection in the form of some kind of hat and sunscreen,
If you plan to go camel riding , full length pants and close toed shoes are going to keep you comfortable. Some also recommend you bring a lightweight scarf, in case there are any flies.
Marrakech Photography Tips
Marrakech is one of the most photographic destinations in the world.
To make sure that you don’t miss any photograph spots, consider taking a photography tour of Marrakech. Here are some general photography tips for visiting the area though:
- Be aware that if you photograph some of street acts in Marrakech’s medina squares, you may be heckled and asked to pay money. It is polite, in general, to give the performer -- whether they be an acrobat or a snake charmer -- a tip if you photograph them. The more aggressive acts might ask if you’re just looking!
- Taking portraits of the locals is tricky in any circumstance, and Marrakech is no exception. Marrakech natives are not usually offended by being in photos, though giving them a tip of about ~10 dirham has become a common way to give thanks (some will deny any tip, though).
- Marrakech is known for its winding and beautiful alleyways. One good tip is to never photograph these head on, or with your subject in the center. This eliminates depth and obscures some length of the passage.
You can also take a photography tour to get insider tips from professionals!
Marrakech Travel Tips You Need to Know
- Marrakech is a major city where your hotel and many restaurants are sure to take credit cards. However, a lot of other things are cash only, so be sure to always have some dirham on hand. With that being said, also be sure to spend all of your dirham, it is illegal to take it out of the country.
- The exchange rate of Dirham to USD is 9 to 1.
- Dress conservatively, even if you are a man. This means covering your shoulders and at least to your knees, although trousers or long skirts are always better. Carrying a small scarf is also a good way to keep direct sunlight off of your head, and easy to put on if it is required to enter a mosque.
- Marrakech is known for its tanneries and leather, which make a great practical gift and souvenir. You can find high quality and handcrafted leather goods at great prices in Marrakech’s souks.
- The three main languages in Marrakech are Arabic, Amazigh (Berber), and French.
- Marrakech is a Muslim city, and as many devout Muslims do not drink, it may be harder to find beer and wine in Marrakech. Liquor will be even harder to come by, though your hotel may stock some.
- Friday is the Muslim day of prayer, so you may notice that some restaurants and businesses close down on this day. Do your grocery shopping ahead of time!
- Always drink bottled (or filtered) water, tap water is not potable in Marrakech.
- One of the best ways to unwind in Marrakech before your upcoming flight is to take a trip to a Hammam. This a Moroccan community bathhouse, where you will get an exfoliating scrub, steam, and several different rinses.
What is a riad?
Most luxury and premium tours of Marrakech include a stay in a riad. A riad is a uniquely Moroccan home that has an interior courtyard, traditionally with a small fountain in the center.
Riad are generally some of the most beautiful housing you could hope to have, and usually even have rooftop terraces. They are also a great way to stay close to the heart of the city -- riads in Marrakech are located in medina, or the city’s old town.

This was an excellent tour. We were picked up in Marrakech and driven 20-30minutes outside the city. We had 2 dune buggys with an adult and child (11+13) in each.
