In September 2019, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia introduced the eVisa system to allow citizens of certain nationalities to apply online for a visa to enter Saudi Arabia.

This electronic visa is available for 57 nationalities , including most Schengen Area countries, the USA, Canada and the UK. It allows stays of 1 to 90 days for 1 year (90 days maximum over 1 year).

Participation in Umrah is only possible out of the Hajj season. To participate in Hajj, you must apply for a special visa at the embassy (The Ministry of Hajj).

Only Muslim travellers can enter the city of Mecca, while others can access the city of Madinah.
