PARIS BEACH PRO TOUR

The Paris Beach Pro Tour is an Elite 16 stage of the world beach volleyball circuit: the Beach Pro Tour. But the Paris Beach Pro Tour is much more than that, it is the world elite of beach volleyball competing in an iconic place (Roland-Garros stadium) and in a festival atmosphere, unique and specific to beach volleyball.

background

World elite

The Paris Beach Pro Tour brings together the 16 best male and female pairs in the world. World champions and Olympic champions compete for four days to win one of the most prestigious stages of the Beach Pro Tour.

The presence of the French teams is ensured thanks to a wild-card system.

A unique atmosphere

Beach volleyball is a spectacular sport, both on the court and in the stands. The Paris Beach Pro Tour is no exception and combines sporting competition with the atmosphere of a festival. Music between each point, DJ throughout the competition, entertainment between sets and matches, village with animations on the site of Roland-Garros stadium ... All the elements are gathered to spend a unique and festive moment with friends or family.

Vibrate to the rhythm of the announcer at each match and react to each Ace, Monster Block or Super Spike!  Don't forget: "Make some noise, the players are ready"!

background

An iconic venue

The mythical Roland-Garros stadium, known for hosting one of the four Grand Slam tournaments each year: Roland-Garros. This key venue for French and international sport will be transformed for four days to become the most beautiful beach volleyball site in the world.

This is an opportunity to re-discover the Roland-Garros stadium as you have never seen it before. The Philippe-Chatrier court and 2 other courts will be completely covered with sand for the occasion. A village with animations will also be set up in the immediate vicinity of the Philippe-Chatrier court. The opportunity for you to eat and enjoy various activities (volleyball initiation, partner activations and musical activities...).

Capcom Pro Tour 2023 France Offline results

None

The final offline premier for the Capcom Pro Tour is happening this weekend in Paris, France.

Notable players participating are plentiful, but for just a sample — this weekend you'll be able to see Bandits|MenaRD, BST|Fuudo, Yesports|Chris Wong, BST|Daigo, GyoGun|Moke, Talon|HotDog29, Kayne, SR|NuckleDu, 00|Phenom, Falcons|Mister Crimson, Mouz|Problem X, M80|EndingWalker, DouyuTV|Xiao Hai, HB|Kawano, TwisMinds|OilKing, GyoGun|Mizuha, Falcons|Valmaster, BKR|Luffy, G8S|Pugera, Cuongster and many more.

Over 400 players have signed up to compete in this event so there'll be a ton of high level matches going on throughout the weekend, in a similar vein to the Singapore Premier a few weeks ago .

Since this is a Premier Event on the Capcom Pro Tour, it means that winning here grants you a direct qualification to the Capcom Cup finals and with the current system players don't get many chances to try to land a spot for themselves, meaning a lot of international players have decided to fly out for this one.

It's a three-day shindig so there'll be matches going on for hours upon hours throughout the entire weekend, so make sure you tune in for the maximum amount of action.

Streaming is being done at Capcom Fighters .

Best things to see and do in Paris

Paris is the capital of France and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world. It is one of the places highest on the list of cities you should visit at least once in your life because of everything it has to offer culturally, in terms of its monuments, architecture, and cuisine. In addition to the main attractions of the city like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, or the Montmartre and Le Marais neighborhoods, take a free walking tour to get to discover some of the lesser-known parts of the city where the River Seine flows.

On any of the free guided tours we offer in Paris , you will be able to find a large selection of unmissable places to visit with your local guide who will show you the hidden charms and the way of life of this amazing city. You can’t leave Paris without having gone to visit the Saint Chapelle Church, the Louvre Museum, the gardens of Champs Elysées, Sacré Coeur Basilica, Pont Neuf (the New Bridge) over the Seine, Luxembourg Gardens, the Parisian Catacombs,  Vendome Square, Les Halles Market, the Pompidou Center, Orsay Museum, the Arc de Triomphe, the Latin Neighborhood, Tuileries Gardens, the Galleries Lafayette, Garnier Opera, or the Pere Lachaise Cemetery.

Many travelers leave their reviews and opinions after having done their free walking tour in Paris (in the morning or afternoon) and they evaluate the route and their experience with the local guide. After, there may be other cities you want to visit and do a guided tour with a local guru like Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, or Nice.

Professional in the Tourism Industry

Welcome onto our official website dedicated to tourism professionals

You will find thereafter all the necessary information and contacts details in order to organize your visits at the Eiffel Tower.

Buy your tickets online, in advance

As a tourism professional, you need to be able to schedule your visits in advance.

The access to this ticketing website is subject to conditions such as, in particular, the status of our professional customers as tourism professionals , and specific obligations in terms of quality of service for Visitors , while respecting the unique and exceptional character of the Eiffel Tower, its history and its heritage.

Our ticketing website dedicated to professionals  enables you to purchase tickets for a lift access with a reservation of date and time of visit f or services going beyond simple access to the Eiffel Tower (guided or accompanied tours obligatory) for access to the 2nd floor or summit. Sales open at the earliest 90 days before the date of the visit from midday (Paris time). Due to the configuration of the Eiffel Tower and the accessibility rules that apply to it, on the one hand, and its exceptional and exponential appeal, on the other, the demand for Access tickets is increasingly greater than the supply, which is necessarily limited.  This site gives you access to the online ticketing website but does not guarantee ticket availability.

The stairs tickets are to be bought from the Monument’s tickets office for an immediate use, in presence of your group.

General Terms of Sale and Visit regulations.

We invite you to proceed with a request for an account opening for your structure on our ticketing website in order to be able, once your account confirmed, to buy your time-stamped tickets for your clients, according to our availabilities. We recommend you to realize your request for opening your account at least 4 months before the date of your visit.

Ticket prices

(1)    Reduced rates only on presentation of supporting documents. Children aged under 4 must obtain a free ticket.

The access to the visit by stairs is not subject to prior reservation. The tickets are issued directly at the monument ticket offices for immediate use. PLEASE NOTE: the access to the top of the tower and the stairways are not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Visitor's itinerary

There are 2 entrances in the gardens to reach the Eiffel Tower’s esplanade: the entrance 1 (South) and the entrance 2 (East), which does give you a chance to explore the recently landscaped gardens. You will pass through the first security checks at these entrances.  Tip: to save some time, please prefer the entrance 2 (East) in the gardens, which is often less crowded. You will be able to use the queue « visitors with tickets » only if you have bought your tickets in advance on our online ticketing.

Ticket resale requires your customers to be accompanied by a physical representative, at least, up to the 2nd floor. The Eiffel Tower tickets sale without an additional service is not authorized. Your clients must be accompanied by a guide or an escort who must be clearly identified by a visible logo or business card. We do not charge speaking fees. In order to access the elevator, after the security checks, please go with your clients and your printed e-tickets to the EAST or WEST pillar. The group will need to have the tickets clearly printed (1 ticket per page) on A4 format, with the complete barcode (not reduced). Access the « visitors with tickets » entrance, marked with a green flag, at the latest at the time indicated on the ticket to get to the tickets check point. Guides need to be in possession with a valid adult ticket. Access to this point is granted according to the arrival order of the whole group in possession of tickets for the ongoing time slot. Because of the structure of the Eiffel Tower, visits must begin on the highest floor. For a visit to the top of the Eiffel tower, your clients, accompanied by a guide or an escort must go to the elevator access for the top, located on the upper platform on the 2nd floor as soon as your arrive at the 2nd floor. It is not authorized to make a stop to the 2nd floor at this stage of the visit.

On the way down, we recommend you to visit the lower floors, giving you the opportunity to benefit from historical and cultural contents on our Monument. The 1st floor in particular will allow you to discover our glass floor as well as the cultural path, our terrace and a large souvenir shop.

BRUSSELS (AP) — World champion Mathieu van der Poel will focus on the Olympic road race at the Paris Games this summer, after competing in the Tour de France, and skip mountain biking.

The versatile Dutch racer said Wednesday that combining the Tour and the road race is “the most logical” choice.

“It ensures that I have a little more time and thus can prepare longer and better,” he said in a statement released by his Alpecin-Deceuninck team.

Van der Poel has won titles in many disciplines and thought at one point about competing in the cross-country mountain bike event at the Olympics. But he faced what he called a “difficult puzzle to put together” with the route of the road race suiting his skills.

“Just the road race? Only mountain biking? Or both?” he said. “Whether or not in combination with the Tour de France, which I personally consider the best possible preparation for the Games.”

Van der Poel finally made his decision.

“Let’s say I chose the most logical thing,” he said. “So, in consultation with the team, I opted for a slightly longer rest period, after which I can build up to the Tour de France and the Olympic road race without time pressure.”

The 29-year-old rider, who has been in impressive form this year with victories at the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix classics, said he will work in support of teammate Jasper Philipsen “in his hunt for stage wins and a possible green jersey” of Tour de France’s best sprinter.

“And the goal is to win a stage myself this year,” he said. “Last year I got sick when there were a few stages where I had chances. Hopefully I will be spared from that in this edition.”

Van der Poel added that wearing the world champion’s rainbow jersey this season played a role in his decision to race at the Tour.

“It’s a special year,” he said. “As world champion I like to ride in that jersey as much as possible. So I also prefer not to miss the Tour de France. And that proved to be a good preparation last year, then towards the World Championships.”

He also hinted that he could compete in mountain biking at future Olympics. Van der Poel crashed out of the mountain bike race at the Tokyo Olympics.

“Who knows what’s still possible in 2028 in Los Angeles? That’s still a long time away, but I’ll be in a different phase of my career then,” he said. “Maybe then I can put everything on that mountain biking. This year the combination is just too difficult.”

Van der Poel, who is currently training in Spain, will not compete before the June 29-July 21 Tour de France. The men’s Olympic road race is a challenging 273-kilometer (170-mile) trek set to take place on Aug. 3.

The Tahiti Pro: Your Unofficial Preview for the 2024 Olympic Games

H old onto your helmets, surf fans. As the World Tour rounds on one of the few remaining relics of the Dream Tour, the charts are showing a solid blob headed toward the End of The Road, Teahupo'o. In an event that will also double as a test run ahead of the Paris Olympics in late July/early August, there are back-to-back swells in the six-to ten-foot range set to hit smack bang in the middle of the waiting period, the first arriving around the 25th of May and the second on the 28th, 29th, easing into the 30th.

Watching the world’s best surfers test their courage and ability against one of the heaviest and most intimidating waves on earth has provided as many tour highlights as it has lowlights over the years. Owen Wright’s win over Gabriel Medina in 2019 following a near fatal brain injury announced his return to full health and capacity. Ex-Brazilian pro, Neco Padaratz’ refusal to take off on a wave out here in a World Tour heat was a low point for men’s professional surfing. Followed not far behind by reigning World Champ Filipe Toledo’s inability to get a result or even a wave of consequence out here.

There are plenty of Tour surfers in the mix with Olympic ambitions who will be aiming to get some reps in at the End of the Road when the swell jacks and the cutlery starts to rattle.

The Men's 2024 Shisheido Tahiti Pro Preview

On the men’s side, USA medal hopes will rest on the shoulders of current world number one, Griffin Colapinto, and world number three, John John Florence (Hawaii), whose fortunes at the End of the Road have differed significantly. Despite demonstrating great aptitude at the world’s deadliest wave, Pipeline, along with nearly every hollow wave you can name, Griffin has never finished better than 9th in his six World Tour starts at Teahupo'o and desperately needs to find some form ahead of the Olympics.

John, on the other hand, has been a part of some of the greatest moments to go down in a jersey at Teahupo'o (including his show stopper semi-final with Slater in 2014  and has made multiple finals here, though never won the event. An absolute master in the juice, particularly of the Pacific variety, his skill set couldn’t be better suited to the wave, as demonstrated by a handful of the craziest waves ever paddled here in free surfs. The question remains whether he can lock in and put together an entire event for the win.

Standing in his way is good friend and sparring partner, Jack Robinson, the defending Tahiti Pro champ who is coming off a last-start win over John in the final of the Margaret River Pro World Tour event. The prospect of a head-to-head match-up between these two at maxing Teahupo'o is beyond dramatic, with the possibility of topping the greatest Tahiti Pro heat of all-time between John and Slater in 2014. A regular at Teahupo'o since he was just 16, Jack was raised on the sinister, ledged-out slabs of Australia’s Desert Teahupo'o, known as Tombstones, in Gnaraloo. He has a connection to waves of consequence that might prove peerless as his career wears on. He'll be competing here with one eye also on the Olympics.

Then there’s Gabriel Medina, the 3x World Champ, who’s struggled to find form since he took a break from Tour and will be looking at Teahupo'o to break the drought. No one left on Tour has a better record at the wave. He's a two-time Tahiti Pro winner who has surfed in an astonishing six finals out here, including in his rookie year, held in pumping conditions, which he won by defeating a primed Kelly Slater in the final. How he’s managed to cultivate this kind of record at Teahupo'o can be attributed in part to his hometown, Maresias, which is considered the Brazilian Mecca of hollow waves.

Never looking stretched, never suffering injury, and barely wiping out, his cool, calm and calculated approach has to be envy of nearly every surfer on Tour at a wave that strikes fear into the hearts of all.

The son of a single mother, raised on the breadline, Media was touted as a small-wave acrobat upon qualifying for the Tour, only to dominate in waves of consequence, with a further four runner-ups and one win at the Pipe Masters. His late-stage Olympic qualification via the ISA event in Puerto Rico will see him ratcheting up the pressure on his opponents after failing to medal in the Tokyo Olympics. A potent mix of cunning heat strategy, sublime wave selection, and confidence bred from the purest connection to craft and canvas have typified his performances at Teahupo'o over the years. Never looking stretched, never suffering injury, and barely wiping out, his cool, calm and calculated approach has to be envy of nearly every surfer on Tour at a wave that strikes fear into the hearts of all.

Medina might be the man to beat but the young buck still has to get past a wily old GOAT. As predicted, Kelly Slater has been granted a wildcard into the event his company, Outerknown, sponsors. He will line up against Jack Robinson and Moroccan Tour surfer and Olympic qualifier, Ramzi Boukhaim in round one. With five event wins here and countless stop-press moments, the GOAT’s record here is peerless. His last performance of note at this venue came in 2022, when he put on a clinic in waves of consequence to make the semi-finals before his charge faltered amidst deteriorating conditions against local wild card and Olympic qualifier, Kauli Vaast. The 52 year old will have extra motivation this go round after being cut from the World Tour earlier this month following 55 World Tour victories and 11 world titles. Count Slater out at your peril. He lives to put on a show, surf perfect albeit deadly waves, and break new ground as an athlete as he continues his assault on his most challenging opponent yet, Father Time.

Count Slater out at your peril. He lives to put on a show, surf perfect albeit deadly waves, and break new ground.

Other Olympic hopefuls in the mix include Ethan Ewing, the Stradbroke Island point break specialist and sublime rail technician, who’s yet to prove himself in this arena. Coming off a fracture to his back while preparing for this event last year, he will need to forget that in a hurry if he’s to make the most of his Australian Olympic team birth.

Cronulla-raised, Japanese-heritaged, Connor O’Leary, has plenty of game in heaving left slabs after spending his formative years hucking it over the ledge at local spots like Voodoo. Representing Japan at the Olympics in honour of his mother, a former Japanese pro surfer, he has spoken openly about his love of waves of consequence, particularly frontside (Pipe, Chopes, Cloudbreak). After narrowly surviving the cut, he’ll be looking to use this event to springboard himself up the ratings and into a medal-winning mentality.

The Women's 2024 Shisheido Tahiti Pro Preview

On the women's side, get ready to witness a new benchmark in heavy water heroics following the watershed performances of Molly Picklum, Betty Lou Sakura Johnson and Caity Simmers in macking conditions at the Pipe Pro earlier this year. What an illustration of the changing of the guard in women’s surfing it was. Carissa has wisely taken up a wildcard for this year’s Tahiti Pro, where she’ll be aiming to build a formidable backside tube game ahead of the Olympics. She’s also been using her time off Tour to put in some reps at the End of the Road, and learned a valuable lesson in the process, overcoming her fears to nab a serious Teahupo'o slab recently .  She’ll be going toe-to-toe with this next generation of fearless female athletes, however, which will be led by reigning world champion and defending Tahiti Pro champion, Caroline Marks.

Marks, who, along with Carissa and Caity Simmers, will represent the United States at the Olympics, has followed in the footsteps of several famous Floridians (Kelly Slater, the Hobgood brothers, the Lopez Brothers), having been raised in small beach break conditions only to achieve great success at The End of the Road. When Tahiti was put back on the Women’s Tour, she was among the first female athletes to head there and get in the reps to make sense of the harrowing lineup. It paid instant dividends with a quarterfinal finish in 2022 and an event win last year. Several all-time greats have struggled here over the years and employed the same approach, among them 3x World Champion, Mick Fanning, World Champion Adriano De Souza, whose hard-earned success at this venue opened up the possibility of winning a world title.

There are a handful of women that'll be vying for a podium finish. Local slab specialist, Vahine Fierro, who has paddled some of the heaviest waves in the history of women’s surfing here, will be a serious threat to take out both this event and the Olympics, competing for team France (Tahiti being a colony). Her opening round heat against Caity Simmers and Australian Tyler Wright – another surfer with serious game in waves of consequence, particularly backside – will be compulsory viewing if the waves show up.

On the women's side, get ready to witness a new benchmark in heavy water heroics.

Simmers brings all the form in waves of consequence into this event following her win at Pipeline earlier this year. While her best waves were ridden frontside on Backdoor rights, a runner-up debut at Teahupo'o last year proves her credentials backside in waves of consequence, and she will be expecting a strong result here and at the Olympics.

When it comes to the best backside barrel exponent on Tour, however, it’s hard to go past Australian Molly Picklum and her hell for leather approach. Raised on the intimidating, imperfect slabs of the NSW Central Coast, where she was pushed hard by her older male mentors like Justen "Jughead" Allport, she has the technique to match the courage. Her perfect ten at massive Pipeline earlier this year was a hallmark moment in women’s pro surfing. And her 9.60 for a giant, sketchy, side-shore Backdoor chamber in the final wasn’t far behind. A fearless face plant in last year’s event speaks volumes for her attitude in conditions like this: succeed or die trying. Ranked third in the world with an event win at Sunset to her name, she is another major threat to take out this event and gold at the Olympics.
