Alain Macklovitch known simply by his stage name A-Trak is a Canadian DJ, producer and owner of the record label Fool's Gold. He is known to be a huge player on the electro and house circuit and has gained a following by both fans and established artists including Kanye West and Armand Van Helden as his reputation grew.

Although he has killer connections and enough work as a record label exec to keep him occupied, he still very much enjoys heading out onto the live circuit to play for his fanbase who are always assured he will bring the party. A number of DJs may have some great floor fillers to get the crowd moving but A-Trek is intent on keeping the excitement levels at dizzying heights all nights as he drops mix after mix whilst his hype men really do their best to whip up a storm. There are lasers involved, inflatable balls, confetti and of course some high quality dance music all used to create a truly unforgettable electro/dance experience. The DJ himself looks incredibly pleased with the audience tonight who have jumped, danced, cheered and sang in all the right places and erupt as one whilst A-Trek stands above the decks and takes a final bow.

Star producer A-Trak, perhaps better known for being half of Duck Sauce, brought his own brand of mix and scratch music to XOYO, London, back in 2011, and to say that that I remember the night like it was just yesterday would be a downright lie! We had far too good a time to remember such insignificant details as the selection of tunes he actually played :)

It was, however, a great night out. And A-Trak made it so. He rolled out a fine array of dance floor bangers, peppering the set with a smattering of quality hip hop and a few remixes of some old school tracks. We also caught a glimmer of his turntable mastery and were hugely impressed.

Duck Sauce’s smash hit ‘Barbra Streisand’ sticks out as a highlight of the set, mainly due to the enthusiasm with which it was met by the onlooking crowd. A-Trak, who is originally from Montreal, created an excellent dance floor atmosphere here in London, and showed us all what he has to offer… and we loved it!

Amtrak app is great, it helps me plan my train rides on the east coast. My travel history includes Grand central station in manhattan as a middle point between New Haven CT for College. I was able to use the app to regularly book tickets at Metropark station in Iselin, NJ after getting dripped off and it only takes about 30 minutes to get to NYC, Amtrak travel FAST! The train stops to board new passengers for a max of 5 minutes and handles everything else en route. Only advice I have is stand on the ramp when boarding and be sure to rush to enter the train you bought a ticket for, once seated, after everyone has time to settle in, Amtrak personnel will go through the rows to check passenger tickets and with this app they just scan it, so easy and great! Amtrak business class is great too, high quality is what you get with Amtrak app along with the total travel experience.

Hello, I hope this message reaches the right audience. I booked a trip to Leavenworth in October though the Amtrak app. When I tried to find a trip, I pressed on the button that states find a train. With this assumption that I was getting a train, and since I’ve never ridden amtrack, I book the first ticket seen. Later when my trip was coming up, I checked on my trip as I was curious what train it was. I googled the number shown and to my surprise 8848 was a bus. With this, I was very confused as this was the only option to choose when booking and I pressed on “Find Trains”. I tried to cancel the trip and I am being charged a large service fee. A fee that does not make any sense to me as I was told this was a train. How am I supposed to know that it’s a bus when I press on find a train. I called customer service and they denied the removal of the cancellation fee. All I wanted was a train ride, and I come out with no train ride, no bus, and less money than what I stated with. I find this process incredibly confusing and unfair for people like me that have never booked a “train” before. As the agent told me, Amtrak assume the customer knows what their booking when they order a trip online. That makes no sense when it was not expressively told to me that it was a bus when I pressed find a train.

Bad Customer Service

I usually have a good experience on Amtrak… today was an exception. I have crutches and a boot. Didn’t ask specifically for disability seats and was given an assigned seat… I asked the attendant if this was aisle or window. She barked Idk… were full. Not true because coming from Philly to Wilson the disability seats were available just as on this return trip. She had to help with bags and didn’t seem to happy. I know the job is tough sometimes dealing with the public but a little courtesy and compassion goes a long way…during the trip I could have been more comfortable but wasn’t given that chance. I could have asked for better accommodation but decided I could make it. Thankfully, my seat-mate got off a few stops later and I was able to get the entire seat to elevate my foot. Sadly, she later got into a confrontational situation with another passenger whom needed to use the restroom during a layover. You don’t have to be nasty to inform customers if a service is not available. Hope the next experience will be better. Signed, Limpy Traveler

Tips to get cheap Amtrak tickets

Some tried and true budget travel strategies — such as booking tickets on during lower travel periods — can help you snag cheap Amtrak tickets.

1. Earn travel rewards and get rewarded

Before you ride, join Amtrak Guest Rewards . Joining is free, and you'll get 500 bonus points when you take a trip within the first 90 days your account is open. You'll also earn 2 points for every dollar spent on Amtrak travel. If you prefer to travel business or first class on high-speed Acela trains, which operate in the Northeast, you'll get a 25% point bonus on the former and a 50% bonus on the latter.

2. Snag bonus points through partners

You can also rack up Amtrak Guest Reward when you spend money at hotels, car rental companies and other retailers Amtrak has partnered with. A few examples:

Book a stay at one of Choice Hotel's more than 6,800 locations and you'll earn 250 Amtrak points.

Rent a car through Budget and you'll earn 50 Amtrak Guest Rewards points for every qualifying rental day.

3. Redeem points for trips

You can often score a discount by planning your trips on less busy days. For example, Amtrak recently held a sale in which — as long as you traveled on Saturday — you could buy one ticket and get the next one free. A two-passenger Saturday ticket from New York to Boston was a mere $83.

5. Bring a friend — or three

Amtrak wants you to bring some friends along for your summer vacation. Its Share Fare deal gets you a discount for every plus-one. Here's the breakdown:

Passenger 1: Full price.

Passenger 2: 15% off full price.

Passenger 3: 60% off full price.

Passenger 4: 70% off full price.

That's a lot of potential savings. Pick up the phone and call some people who not only appreciate the scenic appeal of Amtrak, but also love a good deal.

6. If you're taking Acela, book early

Acela trains, which operate between Washington, D.C., and Boston, offer large leather seats, fast Wi-Fi and luggage storage for up to four bags. While Acela travel typically costs more than other trains, you can score a discount if you simply plan your trip in advance. Book a ticket on the Acela a minimum of 7 to 21 days prior to your trip, and you'll get a 25% discount.

Amtrak sale: Get up to 30% off tickets for summer train travel

Amtrak's summer sale is here: The rail operator is offering up to 30% off coach and Acela business-class fares through August, with one-way coach fares starting at $14.

You must book by May 16 for travel from June 1 through Aug. 30.

Amtrak's Latest Sale Has Tickets As Low As $20 — When to Book

Amtrak is ushering in the start of the warmer season by offering 30 percent off fares as part of its summer flash sale.

The rail company is putting coach and Acela business class seats on sale across the country when purchased by May 16 for travel from June 1 through Aug. 30, Amtrak shared with Travel + Leisure . The sale is available on the company’s “flex” fares.

“This Summer Travel Flash Sale provides customers with a unique opportunity to book an affordable trip now that can be enjoyed during the summer months,” Amtrak executive vice president and chief commercial officer Eliot Hamlisch said in a statement shared with T+L. “Whether you’re a current customer or joining us for the first time, Amtrak will make your journey far more convenient and relaxing than navigating through traffic on crowded highways and busy airports.”

There are no blackout dates during the sale, but it is not valid for travel on the Adirondack, Capitol Corridor, Empire Service, Ethan Allen, Keystone, Maple Leaf, Pacific Surfliner, or Pennsylvanian lines, or on markets between Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Amtrak said availability may be limited and may also not be available during busy travel times.

As part of the sale, tickets between Baltimore and Philadelphia start at just $21 each way — or as low as $53 each way in Acela business class — while tickets between Boston and New York start as low as $39 each way. 

On the West Coast, travel between Los Angeles and Sacramento starts as low as $60 each way, while travel between Portland and Seattle starts as low as $20 each way.

The sale comes as Amtrak is expanding service between St. Paul, MN, and Chicago this month with a new Borealis train, which will represent a second daily option to travel between the two major cities. It also comes as the company is planning on bringing back and expanding its popular seasonal Berkshire Flyer train between New York City and the Berkshires.

Last year, Amtrak changed its fare structure , introducing two new fare options of “value” and “flex” and eliminating the previous options of “saver,” “value,” and “flexible” fares.
