NSW Digital Driver Licence

Use the NSW Digital Driver Licence the same as your plastic driver licence. It's accepted as identification by NSW Police and at most venues. 

Apply for and use vouchers you may be eligible for, including:

  • Active and Creative Kids – helping parents, guardians and carers of school-aged children to pay for sport, recreational, creative or cultural activities with registered providers
  • First Lap – a voucher to help with the cost of structured swimming lessons with an approved First Lap provider for children aged 3 to 6 years who are not enrolled in school.

Add more licences and credentials to your app including: 

  • Boat driver licence
  • Individual contractor licence 
  • Recreational fishing licence
  • RSA/RCG competency card 
  • White card (General construction induction card)
  • Working with Children Check.

Registrations, fines and demerits

Device operating system.

It’s important to keep your device operating system updated so that you’re always using the latest version available by the device manufacturer. 

The Service NSW app works best on: 

  • Android version 8.x (Oreo) and higher
  • iOS 14 and higher

Lower versions of operating systems may no longer be supported with important security patches. If you have a compatible device, consider upgrading to the latest operating system. You can usually check for updates from your mobile phone's settings. 

Security checks 

Keeping your personal information secure is as important to us as it is to you. The Service NSW mobile app has been built with your security in mind. We use some third-party services provided by Google and Android to help decide if the phone or device your information is stored on is secure.

Updating your app

To access all the features of the Service NSW app, it's important to keep it updated to the latest version. Regular updates may also include important security patches and bug fixes.

To find out which version of the app you currently have:

  • Open the Service NSW app.
  • Select the Settings icon in the top right of the screen.
  • Scroll down to see the Version number at the bottom of the screen. 

You can also check if your app needs to be updated to the latest version by searching for Service NSW on the App Store or Google Play Store. 

  • If an update is available, you will see the update button.
  • If you have already updated to the latest version, there will be an Open button on the Service NSW app page. 

To ensure you always have the latest version of the app, turn on auto-updates on your phone. 

To enable auto-updates on an iPhone :

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Select App Store.
  • Turn App Updates on.

To enable auto-updates on an Android phone:

  • Open the Google Play Store app.
  • Select your profile icon in the top right corner, then Settings.
  • Select Network Preferences, then Auto-update Apps.
  • Select Over Any Network or Over WiFi Only, as preferred. 

MyServiceNSW Account

You can log in to your MyServiceNSW Account on the mobile app to access additional services including your licences and credentials, vouchers and registrations. 

To log in to your account:

  • Select the Log in button.
  • Enter your MyServiceNSW email address and password and press Log in.
  • If you're logging in to your MyServiceNSW Account via the app for the first time, you'll need to set a PIN number. The next time you log in, you'll need to enter this PIN.

If your device supports biometrics, you can set this up for an easier log in.

Device permissions

The Service NSW app is built with your privacy in mind.

You can allow the app to have certain permissions via your device settings, including use of the camera and to enable notifications. You can remove these permissions at any time. 

If a future version of the app requires a new special permission to deliver some functionality, we will tell you clearly why the app needs it and ask you to allow access.

    How to book. Select the 'Book an appointment' button. Select your appointment type from the drop-down menu. Select the most convenient service centre. Choose a date and time for your appointment.
