Came back from an 8 day trip in Italy- Rome, Florence and Venice. All booked thru Perillo Tours. Thank you, Laura @Perillo Tours for booking it all for us. Getting a family of 4 thru it all and like clockwork thru these cities in 8 days, is no easy job. Planes. Automobiles, and trains literally all booked for us. Got us on a 8am flight out of Venice. A taxi was waiting for us @ 515 am at our Venice hotel. Lara, our tour guide in Venice was amazing. She even made it interesting for my preteen (again not easy) and had my 10 year old entertained during a 3 hour "Best of Venice" private walking tour. I am so thankful for the best memories for my family in 3 cities in 8 days. If you are looking for an amazing trip, Perillo Tours are your people. Just do it and don't think twice!!! grazie mille

I could do a 20-page dissertation on this tour, so I will do the reader's digest version instead. Couple things up front, as I am very structure oriented, slightly difficult to please, but I am fair when doing reviews. My review may not be everyone is as all tastes differ, so here goes. Their pre-trip communication & customer service was top notch, no issues whatsoever, highly informative, and responsive to questions and or concerns. The Tour guide for the group (Flaminia) was genuinely nice, helpful, informative, & went out of her way to satisfy the concerns of everyone of diverse backgrounds, which is a monumental task to say the least. The bus driver (Matteo) is a magician, anyone who can drive that monster on those streets & highways with that traffic deserves a gold star. The Tour guides for each individual excursion & or walking tour except for the Rome Colosseum & surrounding areas were boring, spoke continuously for no reason other than to hear themselves talk and made a 1-hour tour into an exhausting 2.5 to 3 hours with filler nonsense. The 14 days North Classic is like the Evelyn wood speed reading tour of Italy. There is absolutely no down time, walking is exhausting as buses often cannot get near attractions & you have 1/2 mile walks to and from the start point. You have so much crammed into a short amount of time with so many stops that it makes I third to really enjoy a particular area that you like. You will spend exhausting hours on the bus with a limited "EMERGENCY BATHROOM" which means a stop at every "AUTOGRILL" in Italy so to speak. They have stock in that company. We actually could not manage all day do nothing 9-hour ride from Sorrento to Florence, so we took the high-speed train on our own in 3 hours and enjoyed almost a full day in Florence arriving ahead of the group. To their credit, our rooms were ready in advance, and we sent our luggage on the bus. The Cities for the most part is all worth seeing, but the crowds, tourist, and just overall volume of visitors is simply too much for me. You are on lines constantly, going through security only to be in more lines as everyone needs to see attractions. You will be with many strangers if you are a couple 38 strangers. You will either love your group or get along as you spend so much time you have no choice. The Hotels 5 different on this tour. 4 were serviceable while Hotel Rivoli (Florence 3 nights here, with all of its 300-year-old plus charm should simply be imploded. Nothing good to say terrible. Itinerary or lack thereof. You are presented one at orientation, but you better get used to it is only an outline. Times for everything change constantly, tours are switched, extra time added & what you will think will be an enjoyable day with time to spare turns into a marathon of exhaustion. What really kills this entire tour & review is the food. What appears to be a great deal with 9 included dinners is really what destroys this trip. You go to Italy to sample some of the finest cuisine, in the world. Then you get there and 9 of your 13 nights are mapped out. I will break it down quickly. The 4 hotel dinners were an absolute INSULT to anyone who has eaten out. Rushed, premade food, with little to no options on a set menu. The food was bland, tasteless & in some cases inedible. . The dinners out are also set menus with not pretty much zero options to change anything. The food is rushed, the wine provided is cheap, and you are better off at the local Olive Garden than eating at these tourist traps. The standout dinner in Florence was good & the winery dinner was 5 stars. Other than that, keep your meals. This last point is about their lack of ability to use common sense. On our last day we are stopping at Como for a lake tour & boat ride. We had just spent 3 hours in Lugano Como on the way back. It is DRIVING RAIN, 48 degrees, and nobody wants to do this side trip. We arrived in Como, the boat was cancelled, it is a .75 mile walk to the area in the pouring rain and 75 miles back. 3 out of 38 want to walk down to the shopping area. Instead of offering the other 35 to wait on the bus they force all 38 to trudge 1.5 miles in a torrential downpour, and then freeze for the next 90 minutes until the return walk back. The Final straw was 18 of the group who have morning flights. 12 of which are all same flight 9:45AM while 6 had 7:30AM Flights. 3 vans are hired, 6 per van. They had the audacity to make all 18 people leave at 4:30AM. When we discussed this, there were no changes, these are your options. It made NO SENSE, as I explained the airport check-in does not open till 6:45 for our flights and were told it will be open do not worry. We arrive at 5:10AM to a closed for the most part airport waiting till till yes 6:45AM for check in. No common sense whatsoever. Why make 12 people leave 2 hours early for no reason? No more space for this review you get the idea travel at your discretion

We booked our trip with perillo. They have been nothing short of amazing. Every time we speak with a rep there they are helpful and knowledgeable. Recently we dealt with Janice Charowsky and she was amazing. You should have ten like her. Helpful,knowledgeable and and absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you Perillo for making the dream trip of a lifetime come true.

Very professional tour company. We had 14 days tour to Italy with them. It was put together with personal guides. We left 2 days early with a side to Vicenza , where I was stationed. Plus they put a another side tour to my wife's uncle grave site. Definitely recommend this Company with highest kudos.

Perillo is first class from top to bottom. class act with knowledgeable tour guides and local guides. Our tour guide is a historian- so informative. loved the hotels especially in Venice and Sorrento

Since Perillo tours is so upset that I'm leaving negative reviews because I never traveled with them let me clarify. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN!!! Let me reiterate...the FIRST time we heard that there was a problem with this tour was 6/16. If they knew there was a possibility this tour would be cancelled we should have at least been alerted when they became aware. "Janice" said this much when we spoke to her she apologized "for dropping the ball". If Devin is correct about the "private tour" then perhaps he need to tell Janice because she stated we would be on our own most of the time. i will continue to tell everyone about the horrible experience with Perillo snd recommend they tour with another more reliable company.

Hello. We have gone over this many time with this client and she continues to leave negative reviews without even having traveled with us. We feel very badly that the tour departure was cancelled but it was beyond our control. A few weeks ago, we had enough participants to operator and unfortunately we had some cancellations. Our brochure specifically states: "From time to time a tour departure may be cancelled due to lack of participation or other operational reasons. In such case, Perillo Tours sole responsibility is to provide a complete refund of money received without any other liability whatsoever." What this client states is false - the North Continental tour that she was booked on includes NO DINNERS. It is dine on your own so why would we include dinners on a custom trip? We offered them a custom vacation package with private guides and drivers, NOT TAXIS. They would have visited all the same cities and visited all the same sites with private guides and drivers - and we were willing to do this all at the same cost. Clients refused and asked for a refund. This refund was processed this morning and now it will take the credit card company a few days to process.

We were booked for the Northern Continental tour of Italy with a departure date of 8/14. We booked it almost a year ago and it's paid in full including airfare to the tune of over $11,000. We just found out TODAY(6/16)it is cancelled and there is no effort on their part to make this right. I thought this was supposed to be the premier touring company but how is it possible that they only knew this 2 months before the tour date? This has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I won't be looking to tour with them in the future and I'll be telling everyone I know to check out other touring companies as well since they are evidently unreliable. Their customer service is sorely lacking. It took 2 days and multiple phone calls to finally speak to someone that was "authorized" to address this issue. They did offer 2 solutions. The first was to keep our tour dates but to offer a "private tour" which consisted of nothing more than a taxi service that would drive us to each tour site but we would be on our own. No tour guide, no dinner, none of the amenities that we signed up for originally. The second option was a trip to Hawaii. Neither of these offers comes anywhere close to making up for their poor handling of our 30th anniversary trip of a lifetime. Now we wait to see how long it takes this company to refund the money they have been holding on to interest free. Of course now they're upset that I have left negative reviews because I "didn't even go on a tour" but others should be aware that when you book a trip with them and pay your money there is no guarantee that they will hold up their end of the contract.

Just finished booking our first tour with Perillo Tours. We read reviews and felt comfortable moving forward with the company. Went online to make our deposit for our September 2024 tour and somehow our credit card was charged for the entire amount. The same thing happened to my sister and our friend. The rep I spoke with said that I must have put in the wrong amount. My sister was told the same thing by the rep she spoke with. Refunds are being processed but this first interaction doesn't give me great confidence in the company. We will be moving forward with the tour and I hope that this first interaction with the company is not characteristic of our future interactions.

It was been a week since we got back to US from our Marco Polo Tour. It was the trip of a lifetime. The entire country of Italy is a museum. The food, wine and people are wonderful. The hotels were all beautiful and in great locations. Our tour guide Daniela worked tirelessly to make sure that all of our needs were taken care of. She was professional, knowlegeable and did everything with a smile. She is truly an asset to your company. Our bus drive Murko was very professional and careful with the roads and keeping us safe! Cannot wait to return!

This was the trip of a lifetime. Perillo Tours does everything right! Everything is so well organized, hotels were in great locations and the tour guides were amazing. Anyone unsure of traveling in a group, don't be! I feel that it definitely added to the adventure! I can't wait to do this again!

Am considering taking my family of 4 on this 10 day tour. Has anyone had any experience on this tour/or with the tour company.

I have been working in tourism for a lifetime, I know a lot of guides who work for perillo their tours are more expensive than other companies but they offer high service i.e. Excellent hotels and a lot of tours/ meals included. You may compare to other possibilities and then make your choice.

did you take the perillo tour? we are considering the same for a 25th anniversary trip in 2013. i have read some negative posts that have made me pause.

Did not book with them. Saw negative reviews also although I know someone who personally went on a trip & said good things. We booked with a different company for this summer.
