Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a large-scale mountain sculpture by artist Gutzon Borglum. The figures of America's most prominent U.S. presidents - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln  and Theodore Roosevelt - represent 150 years of American history.

The Memorial is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota . The name “Black Hills” comes from the Lakota words Paha Sapa, which mean “hills that are black”. Native Americans came to the Black Hills to seek visions and to purify themselves. Paha Sapa was considered a sanctuary and was a peaceful meeting ground for tribes at war. Exploration of the Black Hills by fur traders and trappers occurred in the 1840s. In 1874, General Custer led an Army exploration into the area and discovered gold. When word got out of the discovery of gold in the Black Hills, settlers soon followed.

Driving America's most iconic highway is the trip of a lifetime. Route 66 is the embodiment of the American Dream

The romance of Route 66 continues to captivate people around the world. Running between Chicago and Los Angeles , “over two thousand miles all the way” in the words of the popular R&B anthem, this legendary old road passes through the heart of the United States on a diagonal trip that takes in some of the country’s most archetypal roadside scenes.

If you’re looking for great displays of neon signs, rusty middle-of-nowhere truck stops, or kitschy Americana, do as the song says and “get your kicks on Route 66.”

It’s no surprise that Chicago is one of the most interesting tourist destinations in the USA - with miles of beaches, world-class museums, and some of the friendliest city-dwellers out there.

Niagara Falls  is one of the world’s most stunning Natural wonders.

The waterfalls are the main attraction and there's a range of ways to see them: from their foot on the legendary Maid of the Mist boat tours; from behind in caves accessible by elevator; from the sky hovering in helicopters; or gazing from observation towers.

But away from the falls, both the New York and Canadian sides offer various activities to keep visitors entertained. The area also hosts several family-friendly attractions, including Old Fort Niagara and the Niagara SkyWheel. If you don't have kids in tow, try your luck at the Niagara Fallsview Casino or sample some of the area's famous ice wine at the Inniskillin Winery.

Monuments and memorials, eclectic neighborhoods, true local flavor -  Washington, D.C. is a place unlike any other.

With its neoclassical government buildings and broad avenues, Washington, D.C., looks its part as America's capital . Majestic monuments and memorials pay tribute to notable leaders and great achievements and merit a visit. But D.C. also lives firmly in the present, and not just politically; new restaurants and bars continually emerge, upping the hipness factor in neighborhoods from Capitol Hill to U Street.

The internationally renowned collections of the Smithsonian - 140 million objects, specimens, and artworks displayed in the world's largest museum complex - make Washington one of the great museum cities.

As often as you have seen it on TV or in a movie, nothing can prepare you for your first sight of Las Vegas . The skyline is hyper-reality, a mélange of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and a pyramid. But in the spaces between the visual madness, there's a bit of something for everyone, whether you want a wild party, a relaxing getaway, or something in between.

Las Vegas is designed to keep you entertained, satisfied, satiated, and distracted from the real world outside its glittering borders.

The chances of getting bored in Las Vegas are slim at best. Start on the Strip where you could spend days goggling at the visual overload of the whole thing: Wonder at the appropriated skylines of New York-New York, Paris Las Vegas, and The Venetian; get your camera ready for the delightful dancing waters of the Fountains at Bellagio and the lava-spewing drama of the Mirage Volcano; or pull out your wallet and try your luck in one of the dozens of opulent casinos.

Monument Valley , an iconic symbol of the American West , is the sacred heart of the Navajo Nation and the ideal setting for your next adventure in the warm, high desert climate of southeastern Utah .

In some ways, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is the definitive West. Ancestral spirits infuse the rugged, disruptive landscapes that feel foreign, yet distinctly familiar thanks to Hollywood's long love affair with this land. Enjoy hiking, jeep tours, horseback riding and stargazing in Monument Valley, some on your own, some escorted and narrated by Navajo guides.

Vast, magnificent and inarguably beautiful, the Grand Canyon is easily Arizona ’s most distinguishable landmark - and a natural wonder that you simply have to see to believe. Stretching 277 miles from end to end, steep, rocky walls descend more than a mile to the canyon’s floor, where the wild Colorado River traces a swift course southwest.

Whether you stop at the canyon for an hour or stay for a week, you’ll have plenty of ways to enjoy some adventure, recreation or just great views.

You can reach Grand Canyon National Park from main entrances on the South Rim – including the South Rim’s eastern entrance – and the North Rim. The Canyon's western edge is also accessible via roads on the Hualapai Indian Reservation.

Oasis' Noel and Liam Gallagher confirm 2025 reunion tour dates

Oasis split after a 2009 fight between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

LONDON -- Oasis fans have been begging for a reunion for years, and it's finally happening.

Liam and Noel Gallagher of the iconic English rock band announced Tuesday that Oasis will play a series of shows in the U.K. and Ireland in summer 2025.

The reunion marks the first time in 15 years that the brothers are set to reunite. The group famously disbanded in 2009 when Noel Gallagher left due to a fight with younger brother Liam Gallagher.

“This is it, this is happening,” the brothers wrote in identical posts on X early on Tuesday morning.

The Gallaghers confirmed 14 shows spread over five cities -- Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin -- in July and August 2025. Tickets will go on sale at 4 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Aug. 31. The dates will be "the band’s exclusive European appearances," Noel said in a follow-up post.

"Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year," the tour's official website noted.

Noel Gallagher shares unreleased Oasis demo; Liam Gallagher responds

Oasis, one of the most successful British rock bands of all time, formed in 1991 in Manchester and rose in popularity with brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher leading the group to stardom.

The band grew in popularity in their native U.K. following the release of their 1994 debut album, "Definitely Maybe," which turns 30 later this week. The group's sophomore effort, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" released in 1995, brought the band greater success stateside after songs like "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova" became mid-90s radio staples.

"(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" also featured the hit "Don't Look Back in Anger," which Oasis songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallager performed lead vocals on.

In total, Oasis released seven studio albums before their 2009 split, releasing their final album, "Dig Out Your Soul," in 2008.

The band has three RIAA platinum-certified albums, including "Definitely Maybe," "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?," and "Be Here Now," which came out in 1997.

The group has also notched two RIAA gold-certified hits for "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova," as well as a gold-certified long-form video album for "There and Then," a film covering the band's "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" Tour.

Since splitting, the brothers have pursued careers in their own right, with Noah Gallagher starting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam Gallagher started a band called Beady Eye and pursued a solo career.

In 2015, Noel Gallagher told ABC News he was not on speaking terms with his brother. The two have publicly traded insults in statements and comments on social media and through interviews through the years, but it appears they've resolved their differences for the time being.

In recent days, Noel and Liam Gallagher teased the band's reunion by posting the date of Aug. 27 on X.

Noel and Liam Gallagher announce Oasis tour after spat, 15-year hiatus

LONDON - British rock band Oasis said on Tuesday they would reunite after 15 years, with brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher planning a series of live shows in the United Kingdom next year.

Oasis, whose debut album "Definitely Maybe" was released 30 years ago, split in 2009 when lead guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher said he could no longer work with frontman Liam Gallagher.

"This is it, this is happening," the band said on X , announcing tickets would go on sale on Saturday. The first show will be held in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4, 2025.

Oasis said they would play a total of 14 gigs in Cardiff, Wales, Manchester, England – where the band was formed in 1991 – London, Edinburgh, Scotland, and Dublin, in the domestic leg of a world tour. United States dates have not been announced.

"The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised," the band said in a statement on its website .

Tuesday's announcement follows a weekend of speculation about a reunion, which music streaming platform Spotify said had prompted a 160% spike in streaming globally over a two hour period on Monday compared with the previous week.

A tour in 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of Oasis' second album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?", which included the singles "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Wonderwall."

The release of "Roll with It" from the album in August 1995 put Oasis head-to-head with rival Blur's "Country House" in a chart battle that was seized upon by the media. Blur won the coveted number-one spot.

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher announces 'Definitely Maybe' album tour

"(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" went on to sell more than 22 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album of the 1990s in Britain and the band's breakthrough in the U.S.

The Gallagher brothers were often at odds when the band toured in the 1990s, and their hostility continued afterward.

Oasis unexpectedly disbanded in 2009 when Noel Gallagher left the group. He went on to form his own group, Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while the remaining members of Oasis briefly continued as Beady Eye.

Until now,  the band has denied ever reuniting .

"He thinks he's the man and I think I'm the man, do you know what I mean?" Liam Gallagher said in 2017.

But the possibility of a reunion turned a corner in recent years. In 2023, Noel Gallagher was asked at a live Q&A who would be on a hypothetical reunion tour.

"So me, Liam. Well, it's a funny thing because we're all at a certain age now," he said. "Hair was a thing in Oasis, so we'll have to see what everybody's hair is looking like. I'm in no matter what."

Fans thought a reunion was in the works last year when Liam Gallagher announced he would be going on a monthlong tour around the United Kingdom in 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the British rock band's 1994 debut album.

"I'm bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe tour," read his Instagram statement at the time. "The most important album of the '90s bar none. I wouldn't be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let's celebrate together."

Liam Gallagher ultimately performed the tour solo.

Oasis' announcement Tuesday did not mention if co-founding band member and guitarist Paul Arthurs would join the tour. Arthurs, stage name Bonehead, returned to touring with Liam Gallagher in 2023 after a battle with tonsil cancer. It is also unclear whether other previous band members, including Paul McGuigan, Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and, most recently, Zak Starkey and Chris Sharrock, would return.

Breaking news, meet the stars of the pga tour’s creator classic, whose content is changing the sport.

When Nick Stubbe gets on the course at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta ahead of the Tour Championship, his goal is somewhat simple.

“We just gotta birdie one, as long as we birdie one, you know, kind of house money. Let it fire from there,” Stubbe, better known as “Fat Perez” to the hundreds of thousands of fans that follow his content, told The Post in a recent interview.

Stubbe is not a professional golfer, rather he is part of the social media channel “Bob Does Sports” and the accountant-turned-golf content creator is at the epicenter of a massive explosion in popularity for golf content on YouTube and social media.

Nick Stube (c.), aka Fat Perez, is taking part in the Creator Classic.

And it has led the PGA Tour to lean into that blossoming popularity to set up the Creator Classic, a nine-hole tournament the day before the start of the Tour Championship that pits some of the biggest golf content creators against one another on the same course the pros will play.

Stubbe, along with Garrett Clark, Paige Spiranac, Gabby DeGasperis, Tyler Toney and 12 other creators making up the field, will take part in the inaugural tournament that will be streamed on the PGA Tour’s YouTube channel, Peacock and ESPN+.

The meteoric rise of YouTube golf and golf content creators on various platforms has helped drive interest in the sport and helped a younger demographic find its love of golf through the different creators that have followings.

In July, The Athletic reported that over a 90-day span this year there had been more than 4.3 billion views of golf videos on YouTube, and some of the most popular creators boast nearly a million followers or more.

For instance, Clark, who is part of “Good Good Golf,” has over a million followers on his personal page and the “Good Good” channel is inching toward two million followers.

“Bob Does Sports” has 832,000 followers on its YouTube channel alone and DeGasperis’ follower count sits at over 600,000 between TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.

Their videos range from funny challenges to trick shots to playing a round of golf with a professional golfer or celebrity. Barstool Sports’ Frankie Borelli, who co-hosts the site’s “Fore Play” podcast, played a round with Islanders forward Mat Barzal and Clark posted a video with musician Noah Kahan.

Fat Perez

Bryson DeChambeau, the two-time U.S. Open champion who plays on the LIV Golf tour, has also taken to the creator space and made headlines last month when he released a video of himself playing golf with former President Donald Trump .

Part of the rise in popularity of the content is that it’s relatable for so many people and the familiarity and loyalty that the audience develops with the creators.

“I think we just hopefully resonate with our fan base as just normal guys kind of going out there and playing golf,” Stubbe said about what draws people to the “Bob Does Sports” content.

“Maybe our viewers see each of us in their buddy, they’re foursome. I got a guy back home that’s just like Perez, or just like [channel creator Robby Berger], whatever it may be. So just, I think us, you know, I always say we’re incredibly lucky. We have the best job ever just being ourselves and playing golf, it’s not hard to do that, and for whatever reason, it’s resonated with people.”

‘Great family programming’

DeGasperis, better known to those who follow her as Gabby Golf Girl, is the next generation of golf fan and the younger demographic that the PGA Tour is hoping to tap into as they dip their toes into the creator content world.

At 16 years old, DeGasperis is uniquely positioned to have an insight into what people her own age and older are looking for in the content they produce. She’s seen firsthand the impact it’s had on helping to inspire more people to take an interest in the sport.

During a conversation with The Post, DeGasperis noted that her brother, who she said is not a golf fan, has taken a liking to golf content in part for the trick shots or the funny challenges from content creators.

Gabby DeGasperis, aka GabbyGolfGirl, is also taking part in the Creator Classic.

“The tricks shots that I do is a big thing that I know gets a lot of kids involved,” said DeGasperis, who has made them a regular part of her content. “It’s kind of sick. You watch it for 15 seconds and you’re like that was awesome. I think there’s so many different things that kids get exposed to with golf that they didn’t think golf was about before.”

The numbers would suggest that interest and participation in the sport are up, with data from the National Golf Foundation indicating increases in total reach, total participation, and youth and young adult participation.

The annual Graffis Report showed that there had been more on-course youth golfers in 2023 than any year since 2006 and the group has seen a 40 percent increase since 2019. Young adults (18-34) saw their third consecutive year of growth in 2023 and are at their highest point of participation since 2015.

It’s not totally clear just how connected the explosion of golf content is to the increase in participation, but it has certainly given the PGA Tour plenty of reason to take notice.

While DeGasperis’ and Stubbe’s content differs in some ways, they both notice that their audience runs the gamut of demographics.

“I have 5-year-olds come up to me and I have 50-year-olds come up to me,” DeGasperis said. “I was just talking with a 20-year-old guy and then I’m talking to a 15-year-old kid and a 40-year-old. It’s crazy because it really reaches so many different people.”

The content’s ability to reach and touch such a wide audience is what caught the eye of Chad Mumm, the founder of Pro Shop and the producer behind the hit Netflix docu-series “Full Swing.”

Pro Shop, a golf media and commerce company, is helping to put on Wednesday’s Creator Classic and Mumm told The Post that he had started to take notice of the content on YouTube, specifically, over the past four to five years.

“What’s fun about it is it’s really, in some sense, great family-friendly programming. The golfers are all for the most part pretty talented at golf, but there’s just a rhythm to it,” Mumm said.

The Creator Classic ‘experiment’

PGA Tour senior vice president of media Chris Wandell is very honest about what the Tour is hoping to accomplish with Wednesday’s Creator Classic, and that’s trying to draw in the large audience that the creators involved have to the Tour Championship that’s taking place the following days.

The creators involved are being encouraged to bring their video teams and shoot content during the Creator Classic to release on their own platforms.

Paige Spiranac is among the golf influencers participating in the Creator Classic.

“But we also hope that that might bring some of these different audiences to the PGA Tour to tune in on Thursday and Friday on ESPN or Golf Channel. Or tune in on Sunday, when it’s coming down to the wire on NBC, and these are fans that probably don’t typically watch the PGA Tour,” Wandell said.

“We think if this test is successful, we’re probably bringing a lot of live and non-live eyeballs to the Creator Classic itself, and then our hope is that there’s enough content generated during and after the event that it brings new fans and different demographics to the Tour Championship and the PGA Tour in general.”

Wednesday’s event isn’t the first time the PGA Tour dipped its toe into working with content creators. Earlier this year the Tour put on The Q at Myrtle Beach, which was a qualifying tournament that involved content creators and aspiring golfers and would have given them a chance to qualify for the Myrtle Beach Classic.

Mumm said that the goal for the Creator Classic is for it to be “seriously entertaining” and melding the YouTube golf experience with the professionalism and stakes of an actual PGA Tour event.

Fat Perez's YouTube channel, Bob Does Sports, has 840,000 subscribers.

“We’re not going to try to dumb it down, but we also don’t want to take the YouTube out of the YouTube golf,” Mumm said.

The broadcast will have reporters on the ground that the creators will speak with throughout and talk them through shots and their nerves.

The 16-person Creator Classic is set up as a nine-hole competition that will use stroke play and doesn’t include handicaps, nor will any strokes be given to any of the players, with the four lowest-scoring players after eight holes advancing to a one-hole playoff.

“Just little things like that [make it so] nobody can really run away with it and win it in the first five holes, there will be drama,” Mumm said. “We love in pro golf, cuts make for great drama sometimes. And you know, who’s on that bubble of getting that last spot in the playoff, I think will make for really compelling TV.”

Wandell is also viewing Wednesday’s Creator Classic as an experiment of sorts for how the PGA Tour can build up its profile and learn a thing or two from the content creators involved.

“We’re encouraging both the talent and the cameras to sort of experiment,” Wandell said. “Getting cameras close to people, following the audio in a closer way that we normally wouldn’t do on the PGA Tour. … We’re here to learn. We’re here to see what works and what doesn’t.”

He later added: “From the invention of Facebook and Twitter and Instagram to the rapid rise of YouTube golf, we are looking for new fans. We love this recent tournament in golf fandom just because it’s a much younger audience with that different viewing habit. … All of this is, it’s an evolution of content distribution and fan development. We’re excited to continue to evolve.”

Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Houston have been awarded a $44.2 million Clinical and Translational Science Award Program grant from the National Center for Advancing Translational Research to create a regional hub to serve as a support for infrastructure, services, community engagement and workforce development to advance research and drive innovation in clinical translational science.

Key Takeaways

  • $44.2 million grant to BCM and UH establishes the Consortium for Translational and Precision Health, a regional hub to support clinical translational research.
  • The CTPH builds on the partnership between BCM, UH and other clinical and research groups within the Texas Medical Center to foster innovation in areas such as basic science, health services pharmaceutical sciences and entrepreneurship.
  • Hub will connect researchers with community health care organizations and government agencies, creating a multidisciplinary environment that supports infrastructure, services and workforce development to advance health care solutions.
  • The CTPH will provide funding and resources for pilot projects and research initiatives, helping to accelerate the translation of new technologies and discoveries into patient care and population-level impact.
  • Draws on expertise from 10 UH colleges, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, optometry, engineering and others, highlighting the comprehensive institutional commitment to improving population health outcomes.

This new hub is called the Consortium for Translational and Precision Health (CTPH) and builds on the strong partnership between UH and BCM along with the clinical and research groups within the Texas Medical Center that collaborate with these two institutions. It draws on strengths from both institutions in basic science, translational research, health services, pharmaceutical sciences as well as entrepreneurship to develop and disseminate innovations. The CTPH also will connect investigators with community healthcare organizations and government agencies that contribute to healthcare, clinical research and policy in the region.

“This transformational grant for clinical research, led by Baylor and UH, will advance care for patients in Houston and beyond,” said Dr. Paul Klotman, president, CEO and executive dean of BCM. “It will accelerate the transfer of new technologies to patient care.”

“Research is the engine empowering health care’s life-changing advancements,” said UH President Renu Khator. “This innovative hub will be a catalyst for groundbreaking discoveries and treatments that improve people’s quality of life. That’s what drives us at UH and we’re ecstatic to cofound a regional hub for change alongside Baylor.”

beech_spiff.png

The leaders for the CTPH are Dr. Christopher Amos, professor and director of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) at BCM, Dr. Fasiha Kanwal, professor of medicine and chief of the section of gastroenterology and hepatology at BCM, and Dr. Bettina M. Beech, clinical professor of population health and the chief population health officer at UH.

“The CTPH is a partnership that draws on strengths of both institutions, creating a rich multidisciplinary environment. It will act as the vehicle to enhance the infrastructure and resources needed to effectively conduct research and implement solutions to advance healthcare,” said Dr. Carolyn Smith, interim senior vice president and dean of research at BCM. “It will help implement and create ongoing core research activities that will support the clinical translational science at both institutions.”

The hub will provide funding for pilot projects, and support the groundwork needed for ongoing research. For example, a researcher developing a clinical study might need help with community outreach and engagement, additional study design planning, or access to clinical data. The CTPH will provide resources and services to accelerate the pace of research from discovery to population level impact.

The foundational platform for the CTPH has been laid out in part by the work of Amos’ group at ICTR, which is a group that supports clinical and translational research within BCM.

In addition to UH’s Population Health program and Division of Research, the CTPH will draw upon expertise from 10 UH colleges, including the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, Andy & Barbara Gessner College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Optometry, C. T. Bauer College of Business, Cullen College of Engineering, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and the Honors College.

“We are deeply committed to advancing innovation in clinical and translational science, and this award is a significant step forward in our mission to improve population health outcomes,” Beech said. “This is a testament to the unwavering dedication and collaborative spirit of everyone involved. It truly was a team effort.”

Currently, more than 60 leading medical institutions across the nation receive CTSA Program funding. The institutions offer expertise, resources and partnerships at the national and local levels to improve the health of individuals and communities. The CTSA Program also nurtures the field of translational science through education, training and career support at all levels.

Scottie scheffler plays to a plus-7 handicap at home, but he's getting strokes at the tour championship, share this article.

tour u of s

ATLANTA – Scottie Scheffler usually is the one giving strokes when he plays at home in Dallas at Royal Oaks Country Club.

“I’m typically playing to a plus 7. I used to be a plus 5. They moved me to a plus 7,” he said on Tuesday at his pre-tournament press conference ahead of the Tour Championship, the final leg of the FedEx Cup. “So now we’ve got guys in the group that are getting like two strokes a hole. I typically still will win more often than not, but it’s just fun. It’s just entertaining.”

This week, at East Lake Golf Club, Scheffler is the beneficiary of a handicap of sorts, starting at 10-under with a two-stroke head start over his nearest competitor, Xander Schauffele, and as many as 10 strokes ahead of the 30th man in the season-long standings, Justin Thomas, in the staggered-start scoring to the tournament.

“Scottie starting ahead, I don’t even know the words for that,” said Sam Burns, who starts six strokes back at 4-under and T-6. “He doesn’t need any more help than how good he already is.”

Scheffler, who tied for 33rd in the 50-man field at last week’s BMW Championship, voiced his displeasure with the FedEx Cup format two weeks ago in Memphis, calling it “silly,” but he didn’t object to taking a lead into the start of the FedEx Cup finale for the third straight year.

“I want every stroke that I can get this week. I’ve experienced it on the other side, and I would much rather start a tournament with a lead than start it behind. It’s as simple as that,” he said. “This is the best opportunity that I’ll have in my career probably to win a golf tournament. I’m starting two strokes ahead of second place. That’s a pretty cool place to be, really.”

He’s the first player to enter the Tour Championship at No. 1 in the standings in three consecutive years. Despite the head start, he’s failed to win from the pole position the last two years, finishing T-2 in 2022 and T-6 in 2023.

“I think we need a season-long race. I think the FedEx Cup has been really good for our Tour and for the game. I think it’s something exciting to finish off the year,” Scheffler said. “In terms of the season-long race, it’s maybe not always going to be the guy that plays the best the whole season; it’s going to be the guy that plays the best in these playoff events. That’s really what you’re identifying is the guy that plays the best in these last three events.”

Scheffler said that he enjoyed the previous format, where NBC’s Steve Sands would furiously be writing various scenarios on a dry-erase board and no one could calculate or understand the points from minute to minute. Under the old format, Scheffler would have more than a 1,000-point lead over Schauffele and no one else would even be able to catch him.

“I didn’t necessarily mind that the winner of the Tour Championship wasn’t the winner of the FedEx Cup. It provides a little less volatility, which is the negative,” he said.

In the current format, his lead going into the final 72 holes may not properly reflect his season of dominance, but he’s also been rewarded handsomely already with an $8 million payday as the winner of the Comcast Business Tour Top 10, which doled out $40 million in bonus money to the top-10 finishers on the regular-season money list.

Scheffler accepts that the system isn’t perfect and it’s a business and he’s an entertainer, though he noted, “I’m not going to go out on the first tee and do dances and celebrate like crazy.”

He said he’ll likely voice his concerns behind closed doors in the future, especially when the title sponsor is underwriting a bonus pool of $100 million that will pay a record windfall of $25 million to the FedEx Cup champion. That’s more than Annika Sorenstam, the all-time leader in earnings on the LPGA Tour, made in her entire career. In short, Scheffler’s picked a good time to be world No. 1 and his focus is simply on winning his seventh Tour title of the season.

“So, really, it comes down to the guys putting up the money for us to play with,” he said. “At the end of the day, we have sponsors for our tournaments, and they’re going to want it a certain way, and if FedEx is putting up the kind of money they’re putting up at this event, we’re going to have to play it the way they want to play it. It’s just as simple as that.”
