T he U.S. Senior Open returns with a packed 2024 slate featuring some of the best golfers of yesteryear. Notable names include Bernard Larger, Padraig Harrington, Steve Stricker and more.

In total, nine golfers are completing, which should make for a fun-filled weekend of action with the LGPGA and PGA Tour RocketMortgage Classic.

U.S. Senior Open golf schedule 2024

The 2024 U.S. Senior Open will air across multiple networks throughout the four-day window.

NBC and the Golf Channel will provide TV coverage of the event. Peacock and the Golf Channel will air the event's first two days before transitioning to NBC and back to the Golf Channel for Saturday and Sunday coverage, beginning at noon and 12:30 p.m. ET, respectively.

Peacock will stream all four days of tournament action.

The pga tour makes the trip to the motor city as players jostle for playoff positioning.

Full-field events will be the name of the game for the rest of the PGA Tour season with the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic taking center stage as it wraps up this weekend at Detroit Golf Club. Visiting the Donald Ross design for the sixth time, players will look to embark on a sizzling summer stretch as the FedEx Cup Playoffs stand just six tournaments away.

Akshay Bhatia, Cameron Young, Cam Davis and Aaron Rai are among the golfers atop the leaderboard after 54 holes, and all are seeking either the first or one of their first few PGA Tour victories. Young may have found his form at TPC River Highlands last week with a historic 59 that propelled him inside the top 10. A runner-up finisher at this course before, the former PGA Tour Rookie of the Year is still seeking that first career win.

Bhatia is on the precipice of a breakout, it seems, while Davis previously won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in a playoff back in 2021. And then there's Rai, who like Young is seeking his first PGA Tour victory coming off a T19 finish at the U.S. Open earlier this month.

This week, the LPGA Tour rolls into Midland Country Club for the fifth edition of the Dow Championship, a 72-hole, stroke-play tournament that will feature 72 teams competing in alternate shot and four-ball formats for a $3 million purse.

COMPETITION FORMAT

The tournament is a 72-hole, stroke-play team event with teams comprised of two players. The first and third rounds will be played in an alternate shot format and the second and final rounds will be played in a four-ball format. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 33 teams and ties. In the event of a playoff, the champions will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff in the alternate shot format.

Each LPGA Member on the winning team will receive the standard two-year winner’s exemption on the LPGA Priority List. Non-Member win regulations apply to non-Members who are participating. CME points and prize money will be official for the purposes of the current-year LPGA Official Money List and Race to the CME Globe Standings. Rolex Player of the Year, Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year and U.S. Solheim Cup points will not be allocated, and statistics will not be calculated. Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings points also will not be allocated.

How to stream the Tour de France

USA Network is not scheduled to carry any stages this season, marking the first time that there will be no Tour de France coverage on basic cable.

I am a Senior Adult 84 YO. Stage IV Cancer, My husband died of a heart attack, I hv to live on just my SS. And cannot afford to pay to watch the Tour de France, I can only stretch my money so far.. shame on you for taking away my one joy..

You can watch it on the USA network. I refuse to pay to watch it on Peacock.

I think it is sad that we can’t watch the tour . Money is all people think of today.

You should broadcast on a regular cable TV station. Who wants to pay to stream!!! Certainly not seniors on a fixed income. That is terrible policy!

The Tour de France 2024 is a 21-day endurance race that features some of best cyclists in the world.

The race will course through France starting on Saturday, June 29 with a start time of 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT and ending on Sunday, July 21.

It airs on NBC and USA Network, but will also stream live in its entirety on Peacock . Cord-cutters can also watch the race with any live TV streaming service that carries NBC and USA Network, like DirecTV Stream , Fubo , Hulu + Live TV and Sling Blue .

The Tour de France airs on NBC and USA Network, so the best way to watch the cycling event on TV is with DirecTV Stream or Fubo . Both streaming services offer a 5-day and a 7-day free trial, respectively, so you can watch few days of the Tour de France for free.

The event is also available to stream with Sling Blue (starting at $22.50 for your first month of service) and Hulu + Live TV  (starting at $76.99/Mo.) — both of which offer NBC and USA Network. Although Sling doesn’t have a free trial, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV has a three-day free trial to try out the service before you commit for the month.

The Tour De France broadcasts on NBC and USA Network, and livestreams via DirecTV Stream and Peacock starting on Saturday, June 29 through Sunday, July 21.

Protestors invade PGA Tour final round at Travelers Championship

Climate change protestors invaded the final round of the PGA Tour event on Sunday.

The Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., had to be briefly delayed by the group that ran out from the crowd on the 18th green.

The drama began on the 18th hole, with Tom Kim trailing Scottie Scheffler by a stroke and needing a birdie — and Scheffler par — to force a playoff. Kim hit what had to be one of the best approach shots of his life from 131 yards out — the third bounce on the green landed an inch to the right of the cup, and settled 10 feet away.

As Scheffler was lining up his first putt five protestors stormed the 18th green from all angles. They were quickly apprehended by local police and pinned to the green before being taken away, but not before leaving white and red colored residue on the green.

Kim made his birdie putt to force the playoff, but tournament officials determined to move the pin position for the playoff, taking it closer to the front edge of the green and away from the most significant damage.

“The security guards were tackling people and people were getting arrested, like it’s just, it’s really hard to see nowadays,” Kim said. “… It kind of felt like it took my mind off of the moment and just kind of realized what was happening and obviously even though those people did something bad, you still don’t want them to get hurt … the police are trying to protect the players and stuff, I get it, but you still don’t want people to get hurt and I think it just kind of personally just took my mind away from golf a little bit and worried about something else.”

Extinction Rebellion took credit for the protest, citing a lightning strike that injured two fans during Saturday’s round at Travelers as an example of “increasingly unpredictable and extreme weather conditions.”

“We are all watching the climate catastrophe unfold at warp speed. Our relatively mild disruption of the Travelers Championship calls attention to nature’s much more severe and long-lasting disruptions,” said Miles Grant, a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion, in a statement.
