Ford Tourneo Courier review

Ford Tourneo Courier review Top Gear

Hugely spacious, surprisingly good to drive

Not the most flexible seating, climate controls are needlessly fiddly

What is it?

Well, in some ways it’s kinda the new Ford Fiesta . Okay that’s a stretch (literally), but the new Ford Tourneo Courier does use plenty of bits from the Puma , and those bits originated in the now-dead Fiesta . Can you tell we still miss the dinky little hatch?

Anyway, the Tourneo Courier could also be described as the people-carrying version of the Transit Courier van. And if you get lost in the array of Transits available like we do, it’s worth remembering that the Courier is the smallest and cheapest.

Tell me more about those looks…

Ford describes this thing as a “multi-activity vehicle” with “SUV-inspired styling”, but we’re delighted that it looks very much like a return to the proper boxy MPVs of old. Ford’s marketing manager for commercial vehicles Alan Ross tells TG that the target customer “likes outdoor activities” and there’s so much room for activities on the inside too.

Wait, how many people can I fit in it?

The Tourneo Courier is a strict five-seater. If you want seven, you’ll need to make the jump up to the Tourneo Connect, and if you need nine seats then there’s the Tourneo Custom . If you need any more seats than that then maybe you should consider how many kids is too many.

But Ford doesn’t judge, so there’s also the Transit Minibus that can come with 11, 12, 14, 15, 17 or 18 seats. And no, we don’t know why the full-sized one is still badged as a Transit rather than a Tourneo.

Anyway, for some further context the 1.5-tonne Tourneo Courier is just over 4.3m long, 1.8m wide and just over 1.8m tall, so it’s not a big car. And yet it still manages a massive 1,188 litres of boot space (from floor to ceiling) with all of the seats in place.

What powertrains can I have?

Great question. At the time of launch all Tourneo Courier’s come with a 123bhp version of Ford’s familiar 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine. That can be combined with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, and in the future we’ll see an all-electric E-Tourneo Courier that should also share its 134bhp powertrain with a Puma EV. Heck, the two cars are built on exactly same line in the same factory in Romania.

READ MORE Ford e-Transit

How much will it cost me?

Another very valid question. You can find out more over on the Buying tab of this review, but the headline is that prices start at just under £26,000 for the entry-level Titanium spec. Almost sounds reasonable in today’s market, doesn’t it?

What are the rivals?

Sadly, there really aren’t that many proper people carriers left on the market these days, but the Tourneo Courier arrives wanting to pick a fight with the Citroen Berlingo. That’s the only Stellantis van-based car that still comes with an internal combustion engine, whereas the E-Tourneo Courier will go up against the e-Berlingo , the Peugeot e-Rifter and the Vauxhall Combo Life Electric when it does eventually arrive.

Still, the Courier should also nab some sales from small crossovers like the Puma that this thing is based on, and the world will be a better place with fewer crossovers.

Our choice from the range

Ford Tourneo Courier review

What's the verdict?

It can’t just be us thinking that the Tourneo Courier is now a genuinely cool little car. Yes, it’s based on a van, but that bluff front end and the Active trim’s chunky styling makes it look like a proper rufty-tufty MPV. The little 3cyl engine and manual gearbox are a great combo too and make it fun to drive, but it still remains comfortable and refined enough to transport a family.

There are some missteps inside, but overall, it’s a clever family car that will make much more sense than a Puma for most people. Let’s see if the buying public can shake off that irrational love of crossovers…

Ford Tourneo Connect

Introduction, what car says....

There’s no denying that the world of MPVs is a little jaded, with family-friendly SUVs stealing a lot of the limelight. People carriers such as this Ford Tourneo Courier still have their followers though – and it’s easy to see why.

After all, the best MPVs are practical and easy to drive, while offering low running costs and no-frills packaging.

The Tourneo Courier comes in one spec and with a choice of just two engines: a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel, both with 99bhp and a manual gearbox only.

That makes purchasing a breeze, with no difficult spec levels to contend with and additional features, such as sat-nav and parking sensors, available to add as you desire.

Read on to find out how well the Ford Tourneo Courier fights the MPV corner, and how it stacks up against its main rivals, the Citroën Berlingo  and the  Vauxhall Combo Life .

Performance & drive

What it’s like to drive, and how quiet it is.

Expecting a 99bhp petrol engine to cope with a car that weighs 1320kg might seem optimistic at best, but don’t fear. The Tourneo Courier uses an engine available for the  Ford Focus Estate  and it doesn’t feel out of place in this bigger package.

What Car? Buying a car frequently asked questions

What Car? has a buying service

In fact, it even beats the 128bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine in the rival Vauxhall Combo Life for real-world power and progression.

There's actually a surprising amount of kick from the petrol, especially at low revs, which makes pulling away from traffic lights a breeze. Acceleration remains reasonably strong right up to 4000rpm, and its flexible mature means you don’t have to change down too often makes and overtaking surprisingly easy.

We’ve yet to try the diesel, but it produces a bit more torque than the petrol and should be a good bet if you see yourself regularly lugging a laden Tourneo up steep inclines.

The Tourneo Courier picks up surface imperfections quite readily, especially if they’re sharp. On a particularly poor town road the constant thumping can prove somewhat grating, but once you get on more open roads with gentler undulations, the Tourneo Courier copes rather better and feels generally quite comfortable.

Body lean is also surprisingly well contained for such a tall car, and this, along with grippy handling and accurate steering, makes the Tourneo Courier easy to manage around corners. The steering is pretty accurate but unnecessarily heavy at parking speeds; like the ride, it lightens up and feels better resolved the faster you go.

Ford Tourneo Courier image

Wind and road noise are both noticeable at speed, but the thrummy engine, which is ever present in town, quietens down once you hit a steady 70mph cruise.

Ford Tourneo Courier interior dashboard

The interior layout, fit and finish

There’s no option of electric seat adjustment for the driver in the Ford Tourneo Courier, although manual seat height adjustment is included as standard. The steering wheel adjusts for height but not reach and is set quite far forward, so those with short legs might find it too close.

Visibility is excellent, with an expansive windscreen that stretches high above your field of vision. Wide door mirrors make the car easy to manoeuvre, and its straight-edged, boxy shape allows side and rear windows that are deep, wide and unobscured.

The only trim level for the Tourneo Courier is Zetec. You get a DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity but not an infotainment screen. Instead, there’s a dock that enables you to set your smartphone into the dashboard, but you can upgrade to a 4.0in digital screen or 6.0in colour touchscreen with sat-nav .

A driver’s armrest and coloured cloth upholstery that give the Tourneo Courier a slightly less utilitarian feel than its Connect stablemate, but the rest of the interior is a riot of scratchy plastics. They are, though, at least durable and easy to clean.

Ford Tourneo Courier interior back seats

Passenger & boot space

How it copes with people and clutter.

Head room in the Ford Tourneo Courier is seriously impressive. It seems to just keep going and going and even the tallest of drivers won’t feel claustrophobic in either the front or rear seats.

Rear leg room is rather more limited, though, and long-legged passengers could find their knees brushing against the front seats. With only a minimal floor hump beneath the centre seat, though, an adult in the rear centre seat has plenty of space for their feet.

The Tourneo Courier’s boot is deceptively large. In terms of length, it’s pretty similar to a family SUV, but there’s nearly 4ft of height if you stack your luggage from floor to ceiling, which means you can get a huge amount in.

What's more, folding down the back seats more than doubles the load capacity, and there’s the option to flip the entire folded seat squab forward to lengthen the flat floor. However, the rear bench is split 60/40, whereas the Citroën Berlingo has a more useful 40/20/40 configuration.

There’s no option of third-row seats on the Tourneo Courier, either. If you need to seat more than five people, see our best seven-seaters page .

Ford Tourneo Courier interior infotainment

Buying & owning

Everyday costs, plus how reliable and safe it is.

The diesel Ford Tourneo Courier costs more than the petrol, but neither will set you back as much as a Citroën Berlingo or Vauxhall Combo Life.

Standard equipment is plentiful, including heated door mirrors, a heated windscreen, hill start assistance, a DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Options include roof rails, front and rear parking sensors, sat-nav and a stop-start function, and all are reasonably priced.

Running costs are also impressive for this type of car. Official fuel economy for the petrol and diesel engines is 48.7mpg and 62.8mpg respectively, while CO2 emissions are also relatively low, at 131g/km and 117g/km, even without stop-start fitted. The Combo Life has better figures, but then it gets stop-start as standard.

Ford came a pretty average 17th out of 32 manufacturers in the 2023  What Car? Reliability Survey . Citroën came 14th while Vauxhall finished in 30th place.

Test ford tourneo courier 1.5 tdci 95 cv, practical solutions for day to day.

Mario Nogales Updated on 17/02/2020 17:33

Test Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

This week we get behind the wheel of a type of vehicle that people do not usually take into account at a particular level, but that could become a very useful solution For the day to day. In a world increasingly invaded by SUVs, this segment seems relegated to professional use. We talk about the Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCI 95 HP It is the small van of the oval brand that will seek to position itself as a real alternative to minivans .

For this he arrives with capacity for five passengers , an outstanding interior space and the quality and equipment of a tourism. After all, it should not be forgotten that the models in the Tourneo range disassociate themselves from the industrial sector . It is based on the platform of the Ford Fiesta and therefore will have compact measurements, but do not be fooled, this model has many capabilities .

Tournament vs Transit

Ford Transit y Tourneo Courier

The Ford Transit Courier is also offered as a van

To begin we will remember how to divide the range of vans at Ford . On the one hand we will have a series of vehicles that are used for passenger transport and that are called Tourneo and they will have an equipment that seeks comfort. For those interested in a commercial vehicle, they will have to go through the models Transit , more focused on professional use and with less standard equipment.

In this way we will have the Ford Tourneo/Transit Courier , which will be the small van, the Ford Tourneo/Transit Connect such as midsize van and the Ford Tourneo/Transit Custom , which is the largest van in the range. Above and only in the commercial sector will be the Transit 'to dry' that is even larger than the Transit Custom. As a curiosity for professional use there will also be the small Ford Fiesta Van.

modern image

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

When we look at the front of the Ford Tourneo Courier, we would hardly dare to say that we are dealing with a van. His airs could remind more of a tourism than to something else and to reinforce it we find some references to the Ford Fiesta and Focus. The perfect example is your front grill , which is flanked by headlights that remind us of those of the utility vehicle of the oval brand. On the sides of the lower part, the fog lights integrated in a black plastic are housed.

Things change when we start to climb, since we find a small hood and with a very large windshield that reaches the roof. In general, the Tourneo Courier adopts a cube to increase its interior habitability, as we will see later. Continuing with the aesthetic section, on the side we will have to highlight the inch wheels 16 or the roof bars that equip our unit.

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

They will highlight the sliding rear doors that will be an added value in this vehicle. At the height of the handles of both doors we find a rib that crosses it from front to back horizontally. The rear is the most square area and less dynamic of the set. As in most vans it ends with a fully vertical gate which will facilitate its use. In it we find a fairly large moon, the rear lights on both sides and the inscription with the name of the vehicle.

Although it seems large by its appearance, the Ford Tourneo Courier really has quite compact dimensions. Long measures only 4,16 meters, wide is 1,98 meters (without mirrors) and high remains at 1,77 meters including the roof rails. As we already know, it shares a platform with Ford Fiesta and B-MAX , although it is almost 20 centimeters longer than the utility and 8 centimeters longer than the minivan. The wheelbase of all three is the same: 2,49 meters .

Very practical and spacious interior

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

We are going to talk about interior of the Ford Tourneo Courier, one of the areas that your potential customers will look at the most. First of all, to say that our unit equipped the titanium finish (the top of the range) and some interesting optional equipment. Thanks to this we have elements that are more typical of a normal tourism that of a van and that facilitate some things. As for the dashboard, we could say that it is practically the same as in the old Fiesta.

This means that we will have a slightly outdated center console , with a circular shape in the center of the dashboard. we found a lots of buttons , including the numbers as if it were the phone keypad. At least our unit was equipped with the optional navigator, which comes with a 5 inch , which is in color, but we feel like it's a little small. Below are the air conditioning controls, better looking and quite intuitive.

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

Center console has too many buttons

Although this model does not have a very remarkable technology to say, our Tourneo Courier benefits from the Ford SYNC . This system will help us to control some vehicle commands through voice and without having to take our eyes off the road. We will also have Bluetooth connectivity and it will allow us to retransmit the music from our smartphone among other things. With the  instrumentation and steering wheel there are no news, although the latter stands out for integrating the cruise control buttons.

But what really matters in the interior of this model is how big is it . We can say that we have been surprised by so much space in such small external dimensions. The front seats are comfortable and totally suitable for claustrophobics . With my 1,75 height I still had to fully stretch my arm to reach the ceiling. above our heads one tray left that occupies the entire width of the passenger compartment and that will be very useful for carrying any type of object.

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

The rear seats enjoy spaciousness and a very comfortable access

The rear seats will not be far behind. Highlight your easy access thanks to the sliding doors, which will be a great advantage in narrow areas. Once inside we have a remarkable space for our legs and even better ceiling height. The third seat of this second row of seats will be somewhat fair for an adult, but it will still be more spacious than in most B-segment vehicles. One of the advantages is the lack of transmission tunnel .

usable trunk

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Tourneo Courier is the trunk . Normally it is one of the weak points of compact vehicles due to its limitations, but in this case it will be the opposite. reaches 395 liters to the tray (or 708 liters to the roof) with all five seats operational. It therefore exceeds the 295 liters of the Fiesta and the 304 liters of the B-MAX. Besides, his wide and low loading mouth They will make it a good ally for travelers.

For those who need more space, the second row of seats can be lowered in three positions (1/3, 2/3 and full) leaving an outstanding load capacity. What is still not enough? Once they have been knocked down seats can be folded towards the front, leaving a totally flat surface and a record capacity of 1.656 liters . The only drawback is that once folded they still take up a lot of space and it would gain even more if they were hidden. We also missed that the passenger seats could be folded down to be able to put longer objects.

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

Another of the less advantageous parts is the trunk tray , which does not go up like in other vehicles when you open the tailgate and will force you to do it yourself. It will have a positive point, since we will be able to place it in three positions making the most of the space. Our Tourneo Courier does not have a spare wheel (it is optional equipment), but it will have a anti-puncture kit , which is located on one of the sides, since under the floor we do not have any double bottom.

1.5 TDCi 95 HP

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

The 1.5 hp 95 TDCi engine is the most powerful in the range

La engine range of the Ford Tourneo Courier is quite brief and will be limited to two options in diesel and one in gasoline. On the part of the diesel we have the engine 1.5 TDCi Dura Torque which will come in two power levels 75 and 95 CV . On the part of gasoline we will have 1.0 EcoBoost 100 hp , one of the recently awarded mechanics in the 2016 engine of the year awards , in the category of less than 1 liter of displacement.

All the aforementioned engines are linked to a gearbox five-speed manual . She is striking that there is no automatic transmission among the range, while her older sister Ford Grand Tourneo Connect yes you have that option. Similarly, it is also surprising that the Start&Stop system does not come as standard on any of the engines in the range, but it can be optionally equipped on all three for a surcharge of $300 .

As we already mentioned at the beginning of the test, the mechanics that we have under the hood of our Tourneo Courier is the turbodiesel engine 1.5-liter four-cylinder TDCi in its higher power version. This engine will probably be one of the best sellers in our country and it comes with 95 hp and 215 Nm of pair It is not that it is a sports vehicle, it is not even looking for it, but we will say its benefits out of mere curiosity: it does 0-100 km/h in 14 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h.

like a tourist

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

Once we have learned the theory, we have the practical part behind the wheel of the Ford Tourneo Courier. First of all, it must be said that the header refers to the sensations that the vehicle transmits to us. It's a van yes, but its driving reminds us of a tourism . The driving position we adopt is somewhat high, but less than in many current minivans. The first thing we notice when starting up is the engine refinement , which barely vibrates even when cold.

The first few meters help us realize the regime in which this engine will be comfortable. In the lower part of the rev counter we find some lack of power that will force us to speed up the marches a little more if we want something more forceful. This will force us to play with the gear stick on twisty roads and in urban environments to get the Tourneo Courier moving with greater ease. A change indeed pretty accurate and with a pleasant touch, although sometimes it asks us for a sixth gear.

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

The truth is that the 95 CV of power of the diesel engine seem enough to us in most everyday situations. However, we will not go too far and we will have to calculate well the overtaking and some maneuvers, even more so when we are loaded. We don't see this as a negative, as the Tourneo Courier is a agile behavior, very close to the Fiesta and also gets some really good consumption.

Our unit benefited from the Start&Stop system as an extra and this contributes to lower consumption and emissions. In your data sheet homologates 3,8 l/100km and CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km. As you can already imagine in real driving it will be impossible for us to reach that figure, but neither we will stay too far . With a calm driving on favorable roads we will be able to get around 5 liters. At the end of the test we have on the scoreboard 6,2 l / 100km , understandable on the other hand, since secondary roads predominated.

To complete the set, we will have a comfortable suspension but not too soft. The brakes also fulfill their function satisfactorily despite the fact that the rear ones continue to be drum and not disc. On the other hand, we find the address quite accurate and will allow us to maneuver with ease. One of the aspects that surprised her was the tight turning radius which is a great advantage in the city.

Summarizing

Prueba Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV

The Ford Tourneo Courier is a van that we should take into account if we are looking for lots of space in compact dimensions . On the outside it will remind us slightly of the utility with which it shares a platform, the Ford Fiesta. Inside we you will be surprised by the comfort that it offers us, as well as the practicality of some rear seats that are accessed through sliding doors. The trunk will be culmination of this versatility for the number of solutions it offers.

If you are looking for a diesel engine, we recommend the most powerful , the 1.5 TDCi 95 hp. They will be enough to move the van with ease and agility and they will also leave us fairly contained consumption . Although, we could miss some more powerful mechanics and the option of an automatic transmission. In short, the Ford Tourneo Courier 1.5 TDCi 95 CV is a very complete vehicle and a real alternative to minivans .

Hello, I would like to know with how many km to change the timing belt of the tourneo courrier 1.5 of itanium.

Good article and it helped me a lot.

For when an automatic change

Ford Tourneo Courier MPV (2019-2021)

“the ford tourneo courier offers a huge amount of space at a low price”.

ford tourneo courier journey 1.5 tdci 95 e6 trend

3.1 out of 5

  • Excellent practicality
  • Dated interior
  • Drab appearance

MPVs, or people carriers, have become less popular in recent years as customers have flocked to SUVs, but no-one seems to have told Ford. It offers no fewer than five MPVs and three of them are based on the company’s Transit van. The Ford Tourneo Courier is the smallest of these and shares its underpinnings with the Ford Fiesta .

That’s a good start, as the Fiesta is our favourite supermini to drive, but such a tall vehicle is never going to handle like a sports car; the Tourneo Courier is a way of transporting people and cargo from A to B, and it’s good at it. There’s a vast amount of headroom for both front- and rear-seat occupants, and a huge 708-litre boot with all five seats in place. Sliding doors make rear access easy, even in tight car parks.

Two trim levels are available called Zetec and Titanium. Zetec costs barely more than an entry-level Fiesta and has all the essentials: electric front windows, air conditioning, Bluetooth, DAB radio and heated mirrors. Titanium adds 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, auto lights and wipers and a six-inch touchscreen with sat nav.

The engine choice is even simpler, as all models now come with a 99bhp 1.5-litre diesel - although an EcoBoost petrol engine was briefly available. The diesel gets a six-speed gearbox and is quite economical at 52.3mpg. It’ll lug a fully loaded Courier with ease but it won’t do it quickly; overtakes will require plenty of space and forward planning.

The Tourneo Courier is very good value, especially if you need lots of room, but you don’t have to look far to see where Ford has cut the costs of making it. The interior looks dated and the huge areas of scratchy plastics remind you that this was predominantly designed as a van. Much of the switchgear is taken from the previous-generation Fiesta - which made its debut in 2008 - and Zetec cars make do with an LCD radio display, a vast bank of buttons and a smartphone holder.

MPG, running costs & CO2

There’s now just the one diesel engine available for the Tourneo Courier, now that the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol has been discontinued. The 1.5-litre diesel manages 52.3mpg, although you’ll see fuel economy drop when the engine has to be worked hard. Company-car drivers will be faced with a high Benefit-in-Kind rate, due to the engine’s 141g/km CO2 emissions.

Ford Tourneo Courier on hill

After the first year’s VED - usually included in the car’s price - the Tourneo Courier costs £150 a year in tax. Ford has the largest dealer network in the UK, so you shouldn’t have to travel very far at all for servicing and maintenance, while servicing plans are available to take the guesswork out of the first couple of services. A three-year warranty is included alongside a year’s roadside assistance.

Engines, drive & performance

The 99bhp diesel engine provides enough power to haul the Tourneo Courier when full of people and stuff, but acceleration from 0-62mph takes a leisurely 13.4 seconds. That’s a second slower than a diesel Fiesta but at least the 109mph top speed and six-speed gearbox means the Courier can take motorway driving in its stride.

Ford Tourneo Courier driving - rear view

It’s also better to drive than you might expect, as it’s based on the same underpinnings as the agile Fiesta. The steering is pleasingly accurate, if a touch heavy, while body roll isn’t too bad given the tall body. We found the engine to be a little loud but it settles down at a cruise.

Interior & comfort

Ford is giving most of its cars a free-standing eight-inch touchscreen, but it hasn’t treated the Tourneo Courier to this yet. Titanium models are equipped with a six-inch version of the SYNC 3 system but it’s surrounded by a bulbous shroud, while Zetec cars get a huge number of buttons on the centre console by the latest standards. Both specifications miss out on some of the chrome trim and soft-touch materials you’ll find in the Fiesta, which isn’t surprising given that the interior needs to be hard-wearing as it’s shared with the Transit Courier van.

Ford Tourneo Courier interior

The entry-level Zetec comes with electric front windows, fog lights, air conditioning, cruise control and a heated windscreen. Not only does Titanium add the touchscreen with sat nav, but you also get alloy wheels, privacy glass, roof rails, auto lights and wipers and ‘one-touch’ control for both front windows. We’d recommend private buyers opting for this spec if you can afford it.

A few desirable features have been relegated to the options list. Parking sensors are £180 (but an entertainment pack must be specified too), while you might also fancy the front heated seats (£120), rear-view camera (£240 - both Titanium only) or the spare wheel (£126). An alarm is optional, too, and speccing this could reduce your insurance premium.

Practicality & boot space

Ford Tourneo Courier rear seat trays

It may not take up much space on the road but because it’s a van, the Tourneo Courier is one of the most practical small cars on sale. There’s a lot of headroom in both seat rows, and the twin sliding rear doors make it easy to get in and out, or put children in car seats. Storage space is impressive too; you’ll find an overhead shelf in the front, a stowage drawer under the passenger seat and a centre console that’s big enough for a laptop.

Even with all seats in place, the boot offers 708 litres of space. It’s more than double the amount of space in a Fiesta’s boot, and moving the seats out of the way frees up 1,656 litres of luggage capacity. The seats fold down and also can be flipped forward. Ford has also included a clever touch in the variable-height parcel shelf, which can cover the boot or can separate two layers of luggage. Practical accessories like roof boxes, bike carriers and a tow bar can be ordered from the options list - although the Tourneo Courier has a very small towing limit. It can manage a small trailer weighing no more than 600kg.

Reliability & safety

Ford Tourneo Courier

The Ford Tourneo Courier was tested by Euro NCAP in 2014 and received a four-star rating, with an 84% score for adult and child protection. It’s worth noting that the test gets tougher every year, so it’s hard to compare it with a car rated more recently. Auto emergency braking is standard, alongside hill-start assist.

Ford is one of the biggest-selling brands in the UK, but not all owners are content. The brand finished 24th out of 30 in our 2020 Driver Power survey. Exterior quality and acceleration were criticised, but the SYNC 3 infotainment system and handling were praised.
