Imagine Dragons Plan Summer Tour for New Album, ‘Loom’

Now that Dan Reynolds has shown off his Indiana Jones–like ability to escape boobytrapped ancient ruins — all without the aid of socks — in Imagine Dragons’ “Eyes Closed” video, the group will show that it can tour with its eyes closed as veterans of the road. The Imagine Dragons will kick off an arena tour this summer — tied to the release of their new nine-track album, Loom (out June 28) — and it will run through the fall.

Tickets will go on sale Friday. Various presales begin Tuesday. Full details are on the group’s website . There are also VIP packages including one with “a signed guitar played by a member of Imagine Dragons on stage that night.”

Imagine Dragons adds summer shows to 'Mercury World Tour'. Special hometown show at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, September 10, 2022. 

Multi-platinum GRAMMY award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons have announced 20 new shows on their massive Mercury World Tour.  Produced by Live Nation, the summer North American tour celebrates the release of their latest album,  Mercury – Act 1  (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope) and will make a stop in their hometown of Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. Joined by special guests Macklemore and Kings Elliot, this tour will mark the band’s biggest North American shows of their career to date.

General tickets go on sale starting Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m. PT on  Ticketmaster.com . Allegiant Stadium and Live Nation customers will have access to a presale beginning Thursday, March 31 at 10 a.m. PT.

Introducing herself to the world with a rarely-seen example of complete, raw honesty, the visual for Kings Elliot’s debut single ‘I’m Getting Tired Of Me’ acts as an emotional punch in the gut. A stark piece of candid black and white footage, captured as the half-British, half-Swiss singer had a crippling panic attack whilst shooting what she had intended to be the ‘proper’ video for the track, it’s an uncomfortable image that belies the sweet sounds that surrounded it.

In truth, however, it’s a duality that sits at the heart of everything she creates. On one hand, Kings Elliot is a wildly ambitious artist, who strives to create unique soundscapes for her confessional songs; on the other, she’s a young woman who has had to learn to embrace her struggles, who — having been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder — has fought internal demons her entire life in order to get to this point, and for whom music is not only a want but a need.

‘Dancing Alone,’ which details the tricky task of navigating a relationship whilst having Borderline, and cinematic follow-up ‘Bitter Tonic’ — which fills its lyrics with courtly metaphors for struggle and spawned the EP’s title — are keen examples of this: tracks that explore dark and difficult emotions with a sweetness of melodic touch. ‘Call Me A Dreamer’ and ‘The Outsider’ complete Kings’ debut EP — the former, a song to her ‘well’ self to remind her that the rollercoaster is still continuing; the latter a yearning lament of someone who wants nothing more than to belong somewhere.

Though Kings Elliot might always consider herself an outsider to some degree, now she has an outlet through which to channel her hopes and fears, with an ever-growing audience and a debut release that acts as an empathetic, important opening statement for an artist destined to mean much to many people.

Imagine Dragons Announce Loom World Tour with Exciting Lineup

F ancy that, the rock band Imagine Dragons have only recently declared the Loom World Tour, and fans have very good reasons to look forward to them. The tour is aimed at the promotion of their recent album, LOOM, which is already turning out to be one of the most anticipated musical albums of the year. Luckily, the band has mentioned that are going to invite great artists to perform with them, which increases the level of expectation.

Imagine Dragons' tour will feature Myles Smith, Jacob Banks, Cannons, eaJ who is an ex-member of DAY6, and Peter McPoland. These performers also have different styles in terms of energy and sound, which means that the concert one is going to attend is going to be quite entertaining and worthwhile to watch. Myles Smith has a soulful voice and deep lyrics that are centered on feelings, and Jacob Banks uses a strong voice with a deep beat. Cannons is more dreamy and synth-pop as compared to Imagine Dragons which is more rock, the two combining gives us the best of both worlds. Hawa Prom is inspired by K-pop songs while eaJ has a mixture of K-pop and an alternative rock touch and Peter McPoland has an indie-folk feel.

In this case, these groups had to include a third show in Salt Lake City in order to address the large turnout. This addition makes a lot of sense given that the band is incredibly popular and fans are always eager to watch this band perform. In celebration of the release of their latest album, Mercury – Act 1 , Imagine Dragons announce their Mercury World Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 2022 tour kicks off on February 6th, with a stop at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Friday, February 25th.

​​With 46 million albums and 55 million songs sold globally, as well as 74 billion combined streams, Imagine Dragons remains one of the best-selling rock bands, reinventing the genre with their enormous breakout success across the 2010s. Billboard’s Top 3 rock songs of the decade belonged to the band – “Believer,” “Thunder” and “Radioactive.” Formed in 2009, Imagine Dragons developed a grassroots following with a series of independently released EPs before making their major label debut on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope with the 2012 EP Continued Silence. Night Visions, their 2012 full-length debut, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and the lead-off track “Radioactive” topped Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart, won a GRAMMY for Best Rock Performance, and achieved RIAA Diamond status. 2015’s Smoke + Mirrors debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Their highly anticipated fifth studio album Mercury – Act 1 was released on September 3, 2021. Teaming up with esteemed producer Rick Rubin and with its title drawing inspiration from the word “mercurial,” Mercury – Act 1 is a candid album that abandons metaphorically charged lyrics and instead embraces emotional extremities, holding nothing back. It marks the band’s first album since 2018’s ORIGINS .

“Follow You” and “Cutthroat” were the first glimpses into the new record, released simultaneously in March 2021, with the former hitting No. 1 at alternative radio and Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart, marking the band’s quickest ascent to the top of those charts. The album’s current single, “Wrecked,” is a confessional exploration of grief, written by lead vocalist Dan Reynolds after losing his sister-in-law to cancer in 2019.

Imagine Dragons Returns to Japan: LOOM WORLD TOUR

Las-Vegas born alt-rock monster band, Imagine Dragons, has announced their first show in Japan in 6 years.

Formed in 2008, the group gained worldwide fame with their 2012 debut album, Night Visions, which included the chart-topping single “Radioactive.” Since then they have performed in Japan three times–twice at Summer Sonic and once in 2018 for a solo performance.

The Grammy-winning alt-rock band is known among Japanese fans for their incorporation of Japanese elements in their music. Their song entitled “Tokyo” features lyrics in Japanese, while other performances have utilized taiko (traditional Japanese drums). Owing to this fact or not, Imagine Dragons has garnered a considerable fanbase in Japan.

The feeling is mutual, it seems: “There’s only one thing I can’t stand about Japan… The food is too damn good!” joked Dan Reynolds, lead vocal of the band, in their 2018 performance.

Following the release of their most recent album, Room, the band will go on world tour starting in September, visiting countries along the American continent before performing in Asia, culminating in their grand finale: Tokyo.

One of the World's Biggest Rock Bands Just Lost Its Drummer: Daniel Platzman Quits Imagine Dragons

Platzman hinted at upcoming projects in film scoring and composing.

Daniel Platzman, the longtime drummer of the internationally acclaimed rock band Imagine Dragons , has announced his departure from the group. Platzman, who joined Imagine Dragons  in 2011 during the final stages of their deal with Interscope Records, took to social media on Aug. 21 to share the news with fans. In his message, he expressed his gratitude for the incredible journey he's had with the band over the past decade.

"After an incredible journey of over a decade, I will be departing the amazing band that is Imagine Dragons," Platzman wrote. "I wanted to share my deepest gratitude to you, the fans, for your unwavering support and sharing in the joy of music with me. Connecting with you all has truly been the highlight of this chapter."

The drummer's decision to leave the band appears to be driven by his desire to pursue other creative endeavors. Platzman hinted at exciting new projects on the horizon, particularly in the realm of film scoring and composing. "I'm excited to be able to share more soon about the projects I've been hard at work on over the past few months centered on my biggest passion: film scoring and composing. I promise you'll be the first to know. Stay tuned," he revealed in his announcement.

Platzman's tenure with Imagine Dragons has been notable. Since joining the band in 2011, he has been an integral part of their meteoric rise to fame. His drumming skills have featured prominently on five of the band's six studio albums, contributing to their distinctive sound that has entertained audiences worldwide.

The band's most recent album, LOOM , released in late June, showcases their evolving musical style with tracks like "Wake Up," "Nice To Meet You," and "Eyes Closed." However, it's worth noting that Platzman is not credited on this latest release, perhaps hinting at the changing dynamics within the band that led to his departure.

Despite the significant change in lineup, there doesn't appear to be any animosity between Platzman and his former bandmates. In a show of support, Imagine Dragons' bassist and keyboardist, Ben McKee, commented on Platzman's announcement post, saying, "Love you Platz! Looking forward to making more Cat Boiz music in the future."

The impact of Platzman's departure on Imagine Dragons' future performances is unclear. The band recently delivered a crowd-pleasing set at Reading Festival 2023, which received a three-star review from NME . Critic Liberty Dunworth noted, "This is by no means a groundbreaking set from Imagine Dragons; for the most part, the performance follows the same structure as all the other shows on their ongoing 'Mercury' concert tour. 

That being said, that seemed to matter not one jot during a show that was designed solely to serve their fans: mission accomplished." As of now, Imagine Dragons has not announced a replacement for Platzman.
