Tour of Flanders live stream 2024: How to watch Flemish cycling, start time

With no Van Aert can anyone challenge Van der Poel?

Tadej Pogačar, Mathieu Van Der Poel and Wout Van Aert ahead of the Tour of Flanders live stream 2024

  • Watch for FREE

It's safe to say that for Belgian cycling fans the Tour of Flanders is bigger than Christmas — way bigger. The climax to the Flemish cycling 'holy week' and the second cycling Monument of 2024 will see the worlds best Classics riders cover an epic 271 kilometers between Antwerp and Oudenaarde, taking in no less than 17 brutal cobbled climbs.

Read on and we'll show you how to watch Tour of Flanders 2024 live streams from anywhere with a VPN , and potentially for FREE .

Tour of Flanders 2024 live streams take place on Sunday, March 31. ►  Start time: 4.00 a.m. ET / 1.00 a.m. PT / 9.00 a.m. BST / 7.00 p.m. AEDT • FREE STREAMS — SBS (Aus) / Sporza (Bel) / Rai (Italy)  •   U.S. — FloBikes •   U.K. — Discovery+ • Watch anywhere — Try NordVPN

The build up is over and it’s time for the big one, the ‘Ronde van Vlaanderen’. The hype has been growing since opening weekend in late February and has now reached fever pitch with the whole of Belgium buzzing in anticipation.

Leaving Antwerp, the first half of the race is predominantly flat. Then, after 136 kilometers, the route arrives at the first of three ascents of the Oude Kwaremont and from here on it's brutal. The climbs and cobbled sectors come in rapid succession, each one hitting the riders hard and testing their strength and skill to the absolute limit.

The Koppenberg, the Mariaborrestraat, Steenbeekdries and Stationsberg will lead the riders to the climbs of the Taaienberg and Oude Kruisberg before hitting the Oude Kwaremont for a second time. Then the final combination of the Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg coming just 13 kilometers from the finish line is where the killer blows will almost certainly be dealt.

Last year’s winner Tadej Pogačar has decided to skip the race this year so the role of favorite passes over to Mathieu van der Poel who is in scintillating form having destroyed the field to win the E3 Saxo classic and also take second behind Mads Pederson at Gent Wevelgem. It’s Pederson who will lead the challenge against Van der Poel.

The peloton rolled out under clear skies with everyone wondering just how they can stop Van de Poel winning his third edition to equal the record of three victories.

Read on to see how to catch the action from wherever you live.

How to Watch the Tour of Flanders

Here’s why you need to tune in for one of the most exciting races on the spring calendar.

104th tour of flanders 2020 ronde van vlaanderen men elite

This season’s second Monument just might be the best.

Believe it or not, it’s been only six months since the last Tour of Flanders. Originally scheduled to be held in early April, the 2020 Tour of Flanders (or the “Ronde van Vlaanderen” as it’s called in Belgium) was pushed to October due to COVID-19 . Taking place this Sunday, “the Ronde” is now back to its regular spot on the calendar as one of the sport’s most exciting spring Classics .

Here’s everything you need to know about Belgium’s biggest race.

→ Sign up for Bicycling All Access for the latest cycling news, health advice, and product reviews 🚲

The men’s race begins in Antwerp and heads southwest toward the hills of the Flemish Ardennes, a region packed with short, steep cobbled climbs , which the locals call bergs . Once the race passes through Oudenaarde, the action centers around two big loops, each featuring the two climbs—the Oude Kwaremont (long, steady, and cobbled) and the Paterberg (short, steep, and cobbled)—that often determine the outcome of the race.

The 264km course is one of the most challenging in pro cycling, with narrow farm roads that seem to wind endlessly around the Flemish countryside. This is why it often takes years for riders to master the nuances of the race, as a rider’s position heading into each of the day’s key climbs can often make the difference between winning and losing. And in April, weather can be a factor as well.

Of the 19 climbs in this year’s men’s race, the Koppenberg (44km from the finish line) is probably the most famous. Super-steep, cobbled, and narrow, this is where the race’s final phase begins. Riders who don’t hit the climb at the front of the peloton are often forced to get off their bikes and walk as the sudden deceleration ripples through the pack. The race is essentially over for anyone who isn’t in the top 25.

After the Koppenberg, five climbs remain, and recent editions of the race have seen race-winning attacks launched on several of them. From the top of the second and final ascent of the Paterberg it’s only 13km to the finish line in Oudenaarde, a distance that several riders have covered alone in recent years. Sprints are rare in the Ronde; the race is too hard to see large groups make it to the finish line in contention for the win.

The 152km women’s race begins and ends in Oudenaarde, with many of the same climbs and cobbled sectors as the men’s event. While the women’s race skips the Koppenberg, the finale is the same as the men’s with the Kruisberg, the Oude Kwaremont, and the Paterberg coming in quick succession before the 13km ride back to the finish in Oudenaarde. As is the case with the men’s race, the strongest rider always wins.

How to Watch

A subscription to FloBikes ($150/year or $12.50/month) is the only legal way to stream the race in the United States and Canada. Both the men’s and women’s events will be available live and on-demand via FloBikes.com, the FloSports IOS app, and the FloSports app for Amazon FireTV, Roku, and Apple TV. The FloBikes team will also be providing lots of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with key riders.

What Happened Last Year

Last year’s men’s event was probably the most exciting event of the season with Quick Step’s Julian Alaphilippe, Jumbo-Visma’s Wout van Aert, and Alpecin-Fenix’s Mathieu van der Poel—three of the sport’s biggest superstars right now—breaking away in the final 40km, only for Alaphilippe to crash-out after colliding with a motorcycle .

That left van Aert and van der Poel to add another chapter to what has quickly become one of the most exciting rivalries in the sport’s history, with the Dutchman (van der Poel) defeating the Belgian (van Aert) in a photo finish. For the second year in a row, UAE’s Alexander Kristoff (who won the Ronde in 2015) took the sprint for third, eight seconds later.

Later in the day (the timing of the men’s and women’s races were adjusted so as to maximize TV coverage of both), Boels-Doelmans’ Chantal van den Broek-Blaak attacked on the Oude Kwaremont to win the women’s event. The Dutchwoman took a dramatic solo victory, aided by her teammates who disrupted the efforts of those trying to catch the lone attacker. As if to emphasize the squad’s dominance, Amy Pieters won the sprint for second place, beating Lotto-Soudal’s Lotte Kopecky into third. van den Broek-Blaak’s win was the seventh for the Netherlands, by far the most for any nation in the 17-year history of the event.

Riders to Watch

Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma)

Despite finishing second to van der Poel last year, van Aert gets the edge over the Dutchman thanks to his win in Sunday’s Ghent-Wevelgem, coupled with van der Poel’s poor showing in Wednesday’s Dwars door Vlaanderen. The Belgian seems to have timed his form just right, but he needs to avoid playing his cards too soon and blowing himself up before the final, which cost him a chance to win last Friday’s E3 Saxo Bank Classic. A win for van Aert would make Belgium’s cycling year.

Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix)

Van der Poel is probably the most talented rider in cycling, but he’s prone to making mistakes, which means many of his biggest wins have come after monumental efforts to compensate for missing key breakaways or poor positioning. He’s likely less worried about van Aert and more concerned with the depth of the Quick Step squad, which showed at last Friday’s E3 Saxo Bank Classic that it has the collective strength to first isolate and then defeat the Dutchman. Then again, this is Mathieu van der Poel we’re talking about, and if he’s at his best, there might be little anyone can do to stop him.

Julian Alaphippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step)

Before crashing out of last year’s race, the reigning world champion showed he’s got what it takes to win the Tour of Flanders. He’s helped by the fact that his Quick Step squad has several cards to play with men like Kasper Asgreen, Zdenek Stybar, Yves Lampaert, and Florian Sénéchal all capable of winning the race themselves. The Belgian team has made a business of winning this race for decades, and whether it’s with Alaphilippe or one of his teammates, they’re always a good bet to win.

Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo)

The Belgian won Milan-Sanremo two weeks ago with a savvy late-race attack that surprised the favorites. Now he’s a marked man for Flanders, a race more suited to his powerful style. He showed in Dwars door Vlaanderen that he’s still at the top of his game, making him the rider most likely to upset the MVP/WVA/Quick-Step triumvirate at the top of the list of contenders.

Greg van Avermaet (AG2R-Citroën)

The 35-year-old has won just about every Classic or semi-Classic on the calendar—except the Ronde. Now riding for a French team, the Belgian has been ever-present at the front of the peloton this spring, but seems to come up short when it matters most. But if he and teammate Oliver Naesen can get their timing right, they could capitalize on their outsider status to take AG2R’s first Monument victory.

team sdworx,16th omloop het nieuwsblad 2021, training team presentation

Chantal van den Broek-Blaak (SD Worx)

The defending women’s champion is back and ready to defend her title. The 31-year-old, who won the Strade Bianche in early March, rides for the strongest team in the sport with Anna van der Breggan, the reigning world champion and a former Ronde-winner (2018), joining her on Sunday’s starting line.

Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar)

Van Vleuten had a relatively quiet spring before winning Wednesday’s Dwars door Vlaanderen, a victory that put her near the top of the list for the Flanders, which she won back in 2011. Now riding for Movistar after five years with Mitchelton-Scott, the European champion might have less team support to rely upon, but when she’s in form, there’s little others can do to stop her.

Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma)

Vos won her team’s first race ever at last Sunday’s Ghent-Wevelgem, a victory that reminded us all of the Dutchwoman’s immense talent. The win followed her second-place at the Trofeo Alfredo Binda the week before, results that show she’s peaking at just the right time to add another Flanders victory to the win she earned in 2013.

Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo)

Longo Borghini won the Ronde in 2015 and looks ready to add Flanders another victory to her resume after a win in the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and second-place finish in Strade Bianche. She failed to impress in Ghent-Wevelgem or Dwars door Vlaanderen, but she leads one of the deeper squads on the women’s World Tour and has the experience to make-up for whatever form she might be lacking. Don’t discount the Italian’s chances.

The Tour of Flanders brings the northern monuments to warp speed Sunday with arguably the greatest one-day race of the season.

Mathieu van der Poel and Lotte Kopecky line up in the rainbow bands as the five-star favorites in what will set the tone for two spectacular races.

Perhaps only Paris-Roubaix can surpass De Ronde for pure racing action, ultra-prestige, and high-level competition.

This year’s editions saw some late-hour drama, especially on the men’s side, with Wout van Aert set to miss the big date. On the women’s side, the unfolding contract talks about the future of Demi Vollering could play out on the roads this weekend.

Date : Sunday, March 31, 2024 Editions: 108th men, 21st women Start : Antwerp (men), Oudenaarde (women) Finish : Oudenaarde, both races Distance : 270.8km (men), 163km (women) Weather : 7C for start, 17C for finish. Slight chance of showers in morning, otherwise mostly cloudy. Easterly, southeasterly winds, 7 to 19km/h, with gusts up to 40km/h. Defending champions : Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates), Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime)

The Tour of Flanders women's race finishes after the men's

TV listings: Plenty of options

USA : FloBikes will livestream the Tour of Flanders via its app for paid subscribers. Coverage starts for the men’s race at 03h55 EST and the women’s race at 09h00 EST.

Europe : Eurosport and Discovery+ will broadcast De Ronde via its app for paid subscribers. Some European nations will also pick up the broadcast, including RTBF, NOS, and RAI, and others.

Australia : SBS will be covering both the women’s and men’s races. Check local listings for times.

Favorites men’s race: No Wout, no Pogačar

Two big names are missing, and their collective absences will mark the outcome of the race.

Van Aert crashed so heavily at Wednesday’s Dwars door Vlaanderen that the Belgian superstar saw his entire spring campaign, including Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, and Amstel Gold, over in an instant.

Other injuries and illness on the super squad could see Matteo Jorgenson, already on a hot streak this spring, emerging as the leader at Visma-Lease a Bike.

The other missing star is defending champion Tadej Pogačar, who is bypassing Flanders altogether. After ripping across the Volta a Catalunya , he races next at Liège-Bastogne-Liège before heading to the Giro d’Italia.

That puts Van der Poel, already on a tear so far in 2024, firmly in the driver’s seat as the five-star favorite.

The reigning world champion can also match a record. A third win would put him on the same number of wins as Buysse, Magni, Leman, Museeuw, Boonen, and Cancellara.

Right behind him will be banged up Mads Pedersen. The big Dane also crashed Wednesday, but wasn’t nearly as bad as his teammate Jasper Stuyven, who’s out with a broke clavicle.

Other big names include Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ), Matej Mohorič (Bahrain Victorious), Alberto Bettiol (EF Education – EasyPost), Tim Wellens (UAE Team Emirates), Alexander Kristoff (Uno-X Mobility), and Matteo Trentin (Tudor Pro Cycling Team).

Who will win? Without Van Aert or Pogačar to complicate things, Van der Poel is the odds-on favorite.

Favorites women’s race: SD Worx the favorites

Lotte Kopecky

Lotte Kopecky currently shares the record of most wins in Flanders’ Finest with Mirjam Melchers-Van Poppel, Judith Arndt, and Annemiek van Vleuten

Joining Kopecky in Team SD Worx-Protime in Oudenaarde will be Marlen Reusser, Demi Vollering, and Lorena Wiebes, by far the deepest and strongest team in the race.

Lidl-Trek will be banging on the door, with Elisa Longo Borghini, Elisa Balsamo, Lizzie Deignan and Shirin Van Anrooij.

Marianne Vos is hot off a win at Dwars, with Canyon/SRAM Racing lining up with Katia Niewiadoma and Chloé Dygert bringing on the heat .

Kopecky has nearly been perfect so far this spring, and will be hard to beat.

A few key course changes for safety

There are a few significant changes for both courses.

After starting in Bruges last year, Antwerp will host the rollout Sunday, and the bunch will plow south straight toward the Flemish Ardennes. The finish of both races remains on the Minderbroedersstraat in Oudenaarde.

The modern classic finales of the Paterberg-Oude Kwaremont combo remains unchanged for both the men’s and women’s races, but there are a few tweaks for safety reasons, with wider and faster roads.

“The changes in the first 100 km are safety-related choices. We have been looking even further for wide roads so that the peloton has more space in which to build up speed,” said race director Scott Sunderland. “The edition from Bruges, where we carried out a similar exercise for the opening hours of the race, showed how these wide roads led to high averages in the opening hours. That speed ultimately helped to determine the shape of the race and the strategic choices of the teams.”

As everyone saw with the tragic consequences in the men’s Dwars door Vlaanderen , the Kanarieberg and Kortekeer have been removed from the route.

“On the way to Kortekeer, the speed is high and the pressure within the peloton is very high,” Sunderland said. “But then we have also seen in the past two years that a few teams decide to quietly ride up the Kortekeer. The question then is: why should we want such a narrow climb on the course so early in the race? Isn’t it better to take out the Kortekeer and keep the race open?”

WOUT VAN AERT crashes

The organization also took out the Kanarieberg and the high-speed approach that provoked the horrific crash Wednesday that took down Van Aert and a host of others.

“There is a direction along which we have to go to the Kanarieberg. That goes downhill and the peloton reaches a speed of 90 km/h. Whereupon the road narrows from three lanes to one,” he said. “When you talk about safety, you have to look at it seriously.

“We have analyzed the editions of recent years. We looked at whether someone who attacked on the Kanarieberg or the Kortekeer ever stayed ahead. So no one.”

The race really starts to kick off at the Koppenberg, about 45km from the finish.

Unlike in previous years, the men and women will be taking the same route to the Bult van Melden this year.

“We have opted to change the approach for the men and to make it the same as the one for the women,” Sunderland said. “A choice for equality, but above all for reasons of safety. To be specific, this change means that after the first climb of the Paterberg, the riders will cycle on roads where it is easier to keep track of things. We are making the approach to the Koppenberg more straightforward and are taking out the descent and sharp bend just before the climb.”

With this change, the cars in the women’s race can follow the same detour as for the men’s race and team leaders can assist their riders all the way to the foot of the Koppenberg. With this change, the organization is eliminating a few points where the race had threatened to stall in recent years, something that caused a race stoppage in Wednesday’s Dwars race for the women.

“These situations were becoming too dangerous,” Sunderland said. “Safety is our highest priority. Furthermore, we also want to adapt our course to the way in which the peloton races. We want to anticipate and continue to develop the Tour to better serve the riders. And that is what we are doing with this change, but it does mean that both the Kortekeer and the Kanarieberg will not be included in the course this year. But we are adding the Kapelleberg.”

Americans in Flanders: A rare presence

Coryn Labecki

Here’s a good trivia question for your next group ride: name the only U.S. rider to win the Tour of Flanders.

The answer is only one: Coryn Labecki in 2017, when she out-kicked Gracie Elvin and Chantal Van den Broek-Blaak in a reduced bunch sprint with Team DSM.

Kristin Armstrong was twice second (2008 and 2012) as the only other U.S. women to hit the prestigious podium.

On the men’s side, no American has ever won De Ronde, and George Hincapie finished third in the 2006 edition as the only U.S. men’s podium in race history.

Expected U.S. starters Sunday include Chloé Dygert (Canyon-SRAM), Ruth Edwards and Lily Williams (Human Powered Health), Labecki and Kristin Faulkner (EF Education-Cannondale), and Heidi Franz (Lifeplus Wahoo).

Men’s starters Sunday include Dwars door Vlaanderen winner Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike), Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers), and Riley Sheehan (Israel Premier Tech). Neilson Powless (EF Education-EasyPost), fifth last year in a breakout ride, is sidelined with injury .

Can one of them break through?

Tour of Flanders 2024: How to Watch a UCI World Tour Cycling Livestream for Free

The world's best riders take on the second classic Monument of the 2024 season.

tour of flanders us tv coverage

Belgium's biggest and arguably toughest race of the UCI World Tour calendar is upon us, as the riders take on the cobbles of the Tour of Flanders this Saturday.

The men's race follows a scenic 271-kilometer route between Antwerp and Oudenaarde that features 17 calf-shredding climbs.

The women's race meanwhile includes 12 bergs, culminating with the grueling double whammy of Kwaremont and Paterberg's ascents.

Highly fancied contender Wout van Aert misses the men's race after sustaining injuries in a pile-up during Wednesday's Dwars door Vlaanderen, while last year's champ Tadej Pogacar has opted to skip the Ronde this year to focus on his preparations for the upcoming Giro d'Italia., leaving Mathieu van der Poel as the clear prerace favorite.

The women's race could meanwhile see reigning world champion Lotte Kopecky aiming to win her third consecutive Flanders title.

Below, we'll outline the best  live TV streaming services  to use to watch the Tour of Flanders live wherever you are in the world.

A large group of competing riders in the Tour of Flanders passing along a cobbled street while a spectator claps by the roadside.

Tour of Flanders 2024: Where and when is it?

The 2024 Tour of Flanders takes place on Saturday, March 30. The Men's race starts at 10 a.m. CEST local time in Belgium, which is 9 a.m. GMT in the UK, 5 a.m. ET or 2 a.m. PT in the US and 8 p.m. AEDT in Australia .

The women's race follows a little later at 1:25 p.m. CEST (2:25 p.m. GMT in the UK, 10:25 a.m. ET /7:25 a.m. PT in the US and 1:25 a.m. AEDT in Australia in the early hours of Sunday morning).

How to watch the Tour of Flanders 2024 online from anywhere using a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view the race locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to what you want to watch. If your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, non-blackout area. Most VPNs, like our  Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Quick tips for streaming Tour of Flanders 2024 using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming the Tour of Flanders live may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

HOW TO LIVE STREAM THE TOUR OF FLANDERS 2022 WHEN YOU’RE NOT IN YOUR COUNTRY

If you’re heading abroad during the racing – whether that be inside the UK or anywhere else – you may find access to your favourite home broadcaster is restricted by location. Luckily there is a way you can keep watching anyway – downloading and installing a VPN, which allows you to trick your computer into thinking it’s back at home. This allows you to find your native broadcaster coverage without having to resort to an illegal steam, as long as you stick to the terms and conditions set out by the broadcaster.

Setting up a VPN is simple –  just download, install , open the app and select your location.

Try out ExpressVPN  for its speed, security and simplicity to use. We also like that it’s compatible with so many devices and streaming services (e.g. Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Xbox, PS4, etc).

There are other great options out there of course, but Express VPN gives you the added benefit of a 30-day money back guarantee and three months free with a yearly plan.

2024 Tour of Flanders riders to watch

Men's race - 2024 riders to watch.

A mass crash during the Dwars door Vlaanderen on Wednesday ruled out some of his biggest contenders, including Wout van Aert, who suffered fractured collarbone and ribs. Defending champion Tadej Pogacar decided to skip the Ronde this year to focus on the preparation of the Giro d'Italia. The big names who will be competing are:

  • Mathieu van der Poel (NED/Alpecin Deceuninck): The two-time winner (2020, 2022) is considered the undisputed favourite after dominating the E3 Saxo Classic and finishing second at last week's Gent-Wevelgem, and with archrival van Aert not competing.
  • Matteo Jorgenson (USA/Team Visma | Lease a Bike): The American rider is expected to lead his team following his win at the Dwars door Vlaanderen and the injuries carried by both Tiesji Benoot and Jan Tratnik. This season he also claimed the general classification at the Paris-Nice.
  • Alberto Bettiol: The Italian is a former winner of the Ronde and, despite suffering from cramps at the recent Dwars door Vlaanderen, has demonstrated a good form by winning the Milano-Torino and finishing fifth at the Milan-San Remo.

Women's race - 2024 riders to watch

  • Lotte Kopecky (BEL/SD Worx-Protime): The Belgian superstar and reigning world champion is aiming for a third consecutive Flanders title after her convincing victories at Strade Bianche and Nokere Koerse so far this spring.
  • Demi Vollering (NED/SD Worx-Protime): The Tour de France Femmes reigning champion, who finished third at Strade Bianche, is ready to step up as a leader if Kopecky finds herself in difficulty.
  • Elisa Balsamo (ITA/Lidl-Trek): Italy's 2021 road world champion has impressed this season, showing that she can both climb and sprint by winning the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the Brugge-De Panne.

How to watch the Classics – Tour of Flanders TV, live stream

Not in a broadcast zone? Never fear, we have your solution here

2019 Tour of Flanders winners Alberto Bettiol and Marta Bastianelli

Live streams

Classics schedule & broadcasters.

The 2020 cobbled Classics season will reach its peak on Sunday with the Tour of Flanders men's and Women's WorldTour races taking place mostly behind closed doors because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The best way to watch the race while staying clear of COVID-19 is to follow it online or on television, and what better place than right here on Cyclingnews ?

We'll bring you full live coverage, reports, results, news, interviews and analysis throughout the races. Read on to find out how to watch the finale to the 2020 Classics season via live stream, no matter your location, with  ExpressVPN .

2020 Tour of Flanders 2020 Tour of Flanders Women 10 riders to watch at the men's Tour of Flanders

The Tour of Flanders marks the apex of the late-season Classics campaign with the women's and men's Driedaagse De Panne a denouement on the Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, following the Ronde. It's the last chances for one-day race glory in this odd, upside-down season.

There will be no crowds packed along the cobbled climbs in Flanders – no bodies pressing against barriers shouting the riders up the Oude Kwaremont or Paterberg – but the race action is sure to be heated in particular between the two main favourites, Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix).

The duo have been rivals in cyclo-cross since their junior days and, with each having their own major successes on the road, have created a steady thrum of drama in the build-up to Sunday after they marked each other out of contention at Gent-Wevelgem .

Should the same happen on the circuits around Oudenaarde, there are plenty of riders keen to take advantage, in particular new world champion Julian Alaphilippe ( Elegant-Quickstep ), defending champion Alberto Bettiol (EF Pro Cycling), Matteo Trentin (CCC Team) and Gent-Wevelgem winner Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo).

The men face a lonely 244km from Antwerp to Oudenaarde, with empty stands on the 14 cobbled sectors and climbs.

On the women's side, the race pickings have been so slim this season that riders are sure to be pushing all their chips in to nab a victory in this WorldTour race. Series leader Lizzie Deignan, a winner in the race in 2016, will have a strong team at her service, including Ellen van Dijk and Elisa Longo Borghini.

The women's race is 135km long, starting and ending in Oudenaarde with nine cobbled sectors and climbs of the Katteberg, Edelare, Leberg, Berendries, Valkenberg, Kanarieberg, Taaienberg and Kruisberg before the finale.

With just one trip over the Kwaremont and Paterberg before a flat run-in, the women's race often comes down to a small bunch sprint, as in last year's race where Marta Bastianelli (Alé Cipollini) won. Her team is in doubt after a coronavirus positive, however. Look for world champion Anna van der Breggen (Boels Dolmans) – the 2018 winner – as well as Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) and Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM) to be at the head of the race in Oudenaarde.

You can  sign up for a subscription  to Eurosport Player for £6.99 for a month, £4.99 for a year-long monthly pass, or £39.99 for a 12-month pass. GCN Racing has also been showing select races, though only via app.

In North America, both Fubo.tv and FloBikes are airing the Tour of Flanders men and women's races.

Subscribing to FloBikes cost $150 for the year and gives you access to watch most of the season's biggest races. Fubo.tv, meanwhile is available for a week's free trial, while their most popular package costs $54.99 per month for over 75 channels.

In Australia, SBS will show the Tour of Flanders.

As you might expect, local broadcasters such as Sporza , RTBF , France TV and NOS.nl are showing the bulk of the spring Classics live. Feeds will be geo-restricted, mind.

Check below for a full list of races and broadcasters airing them

TechRadar tested hundreds of VPNs and recommends the number-one VPN currently available as Express VPN. With  ExpressVPN , you can watch on many devices at once including Smart TVs, Fire TV Stick, PC, Mac, iPhone, Android phone, iPads, tablets, etc.
