Jackson Wang is getting ready to hit the road. On Wednesday (Sept. 28), the GOT7 member announced his plans for a world tour in support of his recently released album, Magic Man .

Wang revealed the details of his 2022-2023 trek via his social media accounts, excitedly writing, “Finally. The 1st time in my life I get to properly tour now. After all this … MAGIC MAN WORLD TOUR 2022-2023 #MAGICMAN is coming. See u there. I promise it’s different.”

In 2023, the 28-year-old will take his tour to London on Jan. 12, and to Paris three days later on Jan. 15. Dubai is also getting a visit, with Wang performing on Feb. 4. The tour poster, which features the singer in a leather jacket, states “and more,” hinting at possible tour dates to come.

Wang released Magic Man , his second solo studio album, on Sept. 9; it debuted at No. 15 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The set charted even higher on Billboard ‘s Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts at No. 3.

Speaking with People , Wang explained that Magic Man is “way more extreme than all the stuff that I’ve released in the past. And I think it’s because on this album, I’m in my most raw form that I’ve ever been in my career as a solo artist, just not caring about whoever I was and whatever I had before. And [I] just want to go for being completely me and with no filter.”

Singer, performer, and producer Jackson Wang announces his first-ever North American tour dates as a solo act for his MAGIC MAN World Tour.

Jackson will return for the 2nd year in a row to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 16th and April 23rd at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California ahead of headliner Frank Ocean. For information on purchasing tickets, visit here .

Jackson kicked off his MAGIC MAN World Tour with sold out shows in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, London and Paris to celebrate the release of his sophomore album MAGIC MAN (TEAM WANG records/88rising Records/Warner Records/RYCE MUSIC GROUP) featuring previously released singles "Blue," "Cruel" and "Blow."

The album received widespread critical acclaim from the likes of Associated Press, NPR, Vulture, The Daily Beast, Consequence, UPROXX, and more. It debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's "Top Current Sales" & "Top Album Sales" the week of release and at No. 15 on Billboard 200 marking Jackson's highest charting album.

This all follows Jackson's whirlwind run of making history at last year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival as the first-ever Chinese solo artist who performed on the Coachella main stage as part of 88rising's 'Head In The Clouds Forever' set. Jackson also headlined last year's 88rising 'Head In The Clouds' Festival (alongside the likes of NIKI, Rich Brian, and more) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.

Most recently, Jackson headlined the League Of Legends 2022 Worlds Championship Opening Ceremony with a performance of his latest single, "Fire to the Fuse," a Riot Games Music written and produced track and the theme song for the new "League of Legends" Empyrean skin line alongside Lil Nas X in San Francisco. The track peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Trending Song Chart.

Jackson Wang is a Chinese singer, record producer, creative director, and founder of TEAM WANG. Jackson was a sabre fencer for Hong Kong's fencing team-He was ranked eleventh in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. And throughout Jackson's sports career, he won first place at three Asian competitions, three national competitions, and nine international and Hong Kong competitions.

In 2014, Jackson debuted as a member of JYP entertainment's K-pop group GOT7 in Korea. In 2017, Jackson Wang founded TEAM WANG. In 2021, Jackson Wang left JYP entertainment and came back to TEAM WANG in China, and started releasing his solo music. Chinese megastar Jackson Wang, who’s had an eventful year so far – from releasing his highly anticipated album, Magic Man , being added to NBA 2K23’s official soundtrack , to performing at the famed Coachella and a stadium show in Bangkok , he’s now taking on the world.

The Magic Man World Tour will kick off in November, where he will be performing in Bangkok. Afterward, Wang will head to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in December. Then, in January 2023, he will be taking his spectacle to Europe for two shows in London and Paris. At the current time of writing, Dubai is the final destination that’s been officially announced, with the show taking place in February.

The event organizers, AEG Presents Asia shared via an Instagram post that details for more stops of the tour, along with the ticketing information, will be announced in due time. Wang has also expressed through his Instagram that this is, “The 1st time in my life I get to tour properly. I promise it’s different.” he declares.

Wang will also be performing in Jakarta as part of 88rising’s Head in the Clouds Festival, which takes place on December 3 and 4. Although no lineup has been officially revealed for the Philippines leg of the festival on December 9 and 10, there’s a high possibility that he would be on the bill as well.

Jackson Wang performs songs from 'Magic Man' album at 2022 K-pop Masterz in Manila show

K-pop boy band GOT7’s Jackson Wang performed songs from his upcoming album at the “2022 K-pop Masterz in Manila” show on July 29.

Filipino fans got to see and hear Jackson perform live four songs from his “Magic Man” album that will be released on Sept. 9.

Jackson, GOT7’s BamBam and K-pop idol group Treasure were the featured artists on the show held at the Mall of Asia Arena. Sandara Park, or Dara, formerly of 2NE1, was a surprise guest at the show .

From “Magic Man,” Jackson opened his set with “Cruel” followed by “Blow,” “Drive It Like You Stole It” and “Blue.”

It’s been two years and nine months since GOT7 held their “Keep Spinning 2019 World Tour” in Manila on Oct. 26, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

When asked what he thought was the memorable moment from the concert, Jackson said he remembered the loud cheers from Filipino fans.

“First of all, the passion is I think just on another level. When they cheer for you, you know they mean it. That wave just comes to you and hits you,” Jackson said.

Besides performing in Korea, Jackson also performs in China and other countries.

Last April, Jackson performed at the Coachella in California as part of 88rising’s lineup along with CL and 2NE1.

He said he was so nervous that he forgot to spit his gum before his performance.

“It was so crazy. I got so nervous, I forgot to spit my gum. I was chewing them the whole time. I forgot, I was so nervous that I forgot. Then I started my set...I can’t do this, I can’t throw it away, I can’t swallow it so I just kept it in my mouth,” he narrated.

During his set, Jackson made an extra effort by going down to the audience area to give a signed ball to a fan. He ended his set with "100 Ways."

After the show, Jackson posted on Twitter and thanked the fans.

“Thank you so much #Manila for having me. U all are a crazy crowd & i love the passion, like i said, when u all cheer, u guys meant it! I could feel it. Like a wave hitting me. It l’m so blessed to perform for u all. Hope u all got home safe ! See u soon! #MAGICMAN sept 9th,” he said.

AEG Presents and T.O.P. Entertainment today announced that multi-hyphenate artist, Jackson Wang, will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena on February 4, 2023, for one night only, as part of his Magic Man World Tour. His first ever solo headline tour kicks off on November 26, 2022, in Bangkok, Thailand, with the multi-city trek also stopping in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Paris and London.

Promoted by  AEG Presents Asia, T.O.P. Entertainment, All Things Live and CMC,  tickets to Jackson Wang’s Magic Man World Tour Dubai start from AED 350, with a limited number of exclusive VIP early admission and meet and greet packages also available. As a solo artist, Jackson is the first Chinese solo singer to perform on the Coachella main stage. MAGIC MAN / Jackson Wang World Tour

Step into Jackson’s universe and encounter the different dimensions of the Magic Magic album where the lines between physical and virtual realms become blurred.

Using chatGPT we allow participants to choose their magic spell and embark on a unique experience.

WORLD BUILDING

Our team utilized source material used in Magic Man xR music video production. From there we picked unique moments and added interactive flare for the participants of the installation to explore.

Each world represented a theme and feeling corresponding to the chatGPT magic input sentiment. Each participant was greeted with a different ‘magic spell’ taking them into a specific world of Magic Man.

THE ELEVATOR

The structure we designed closely represented the visual language from within the Magic Man world with a twist allowing it to stand out as a sleek monolith but also host all the embedded technology and participation area for multiple people.

PEROSNALIZED TAKEAWAY

Our cameras embedded within the Magic Man elevator tracked participant movements using real-time TouchDesigner FX as well as Microsoft’s Cognitive Services.

Depending on the magic spell chosen the real-time fx would change and create a unique atmosphere and visual output unique to each participant.

Jackson Wang has confirmed details of his first ever North American headline tour, in support of second studio album ‘Magic Man’  – check out dates below and grab tickets here .

Wang’s “I’m not a mystery, I’m just magic” tour kicks off April 26 at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. The six-date run will then visit San Francisco, Vancouver, Chicago and Toronto before finishing up in New York on May 11.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10am local time on January 20, and will be available here . A pre-sale is set to take place January 18.

Wang announced the first leg of his ‘Magic Man’ world tour last year , with three shows in Southeast Asia. He started 2023 with a London headline show and tomorrow (January 15) he’s set to play Paris before a February headline show in Dubai.

During a recent show in Bangkok, Wang gave some fans a lap-dance and embraced the front row while carrying a bottle of alcohol.

Jackson Wang creates a magical experience for fans in charismatic and inspiring Singapore concert — gig report

There’s something extraordinary about the way Jackson Wang   is able to touch the hearts of each person he meets.

When we think about Jackson, “ TEAM WANG ”, “dedicated entertainer”, and “multitalented artist” are some of the most common phrases that come to mind immediately — b ut not everybody can fully grasp his sheer artistic prowess until they’ve witnessed it live for themselves. 

Fans who were present at the multihyphenate’s sold-out Singapore stop of his MAGIC MAN world tour by AEG Presents Asia last Friday ( 23 December 2022 ) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium would agree that the concert was nothing short of wonder and awe-inducing theatrics credited to the brilliant minds of Jackson Wang himself and his exceptional team.

More importantly, it was a show that inspired all to find the magic within themselves and go for what they truly love in life. 

Jackson shared: “Everyone’s standard is different. My standard of happiness is different from yours. I want you to understand yourselves, give a second for yourselves, [and realise that] okay, this is what I love and go for it. I really want that for my audience.” 

At 7:30 PM sharp, TEAM WANG’s up-and-comer Laurie opened the concert. It is difficult to believe that this was her first time opening for a sold-out show as she possessed so much artistic talent and zest for music and performing throughout her entertaining four-song set. The crowd loved every second of her performance and were wildly enthusiastic when she brought a fan up on stage to join her set of fantastical proportions. Laurie shared that it had been a “stressful but very amazing experience”, further thanking her incredible team and Jackson himself for making it happen. As the opening act, Laurie proved to be exceptional at hyping the crowd up for the rest of the night that followed.

As the clock ticked down the minutes to 8 PM, fans’ anticipation was evident as they turned on their finger lights and audible screams started permeating through the indoor stadium air as a series of music videos for ‘ Blow ’, ‘ Cruel ’, and ‘ Come Alive ’ were shown on the screens. Still, nothing could compare to the screams that erupted as the man of the hour descended onto the main stage in a mysterious elevator and emerged from the fog.

From the get-go, elaborate effects such as pyrotechnics were on full display as Jackson Wang started the night with ‘ 100 Ways ’. The energy from both artist and fans did not once halt even as he continued his set with ‘ Go Ghost ’ and ‘ Blackout ’. Taking a momentary breather to address his Singaporean fans, he exclaimed: “World tour here in Singapore. MAGIC MAN, we gon’ do this.” before beginning his next song.

Apart from the immaculate performances he’s well-known for by now, Jackson Wang showcased his artistic direction that night. In a bold performance for ‘ I Don’t Have It ’, the multitalented artist utilised a moving platform leading to the extended stage and visually expressed being chased by his backup dancers, who were dressed eerily as hooded figures — presumably a metaphor for running away from his shadows and fighting a dangerous battle.

As if on purpose, the visuals on the big screens seemed to be delayed and running in slow motion, further giving it a very cinematic effect. By the end of the performance, concert-goers were visibly stunned as brief silence followed before thunderous applause rang out, showing their deep appreciation for the visually thought-provoking expression of the song.

One of the best things about attending live concerts is getting to sing with the artist, which was precisely the case for ‘ Dopamine ’ as Jackson led fans to sing with him. When the crowd thought that he’d already ended the section, he sang “I came here to get some dopamine” once more as he headed back to the main stage and fans were quick to reply as they were well-rehearsed by then. It was clear that Jackson loved how spontaneous the concert-goers were and it only reaffirms how he and his fans are indeed one. 

‘ Drive You Home ’ and ‘ LMLY ’ were two of the most apparent fan favourites of the night. Fans’ excitement was evident as they easily recognised the introduction of the songs and were more than eager to sing along to every word of the two love songs. 

Before the concert even started, observant fans might have already noticed the walking space which cut through the standing pit. Sure enough, Jackson himself walked through the standing section in search of two lucky fans to join him in both ‘ I Love You 3000 ’ and ‘ Dead ’ with his comical condition that they must be single ( “I can’t pick [you] if you have a boyfriend.”).

The ‘ Just Like Magic ’ act even played with the idea of choosing a fan seated at the stadium's second level, which garnered loud, hopeful cheers from the section. In what was arguably one of the most highlighted events of the night, Jackson took on the role of a suave romantic for ‘I Love You 3000’ and a possessive lover for ‘Dead’. Though featuring entirely different concepts, one thing is for sure: Jackson Wang truly knew how to make any experience special for his fans.

Jackson appears with alcohol in hand and sings “I keep drinking your poison.” in a surprising twist towards the later part of the concert. Fans were living for the symbolism showcased in the ‘ Poison ’ performance.

The concert mood seemingly shifted as a video montage was shown, featuring the artist’s journey as part of the industry until his present solo career. The cinematic VCR was an emotional expression of Jackson’s vulnerability as he regaled fans with accounts of his experiences and honest thoughts as an artist — a side fans do not usually see. 

“The only thing I want to do when I still have the opportunity [to perform] in front of all of you [is] to share my story and my goal as an entertainer out of the million. I want my audience, my community to be good to yourself.” It is one thing to be able to relate to fans, but it’s another entirely to be able to put a voice to their innermost thoughts that one often finds difficult to express verbally.

As he shared, “I always ask this question to all of my friends and the people around me. Am I doing what I love every single day or am I just working for the salary? Or using that salary to do stuff that I love? I want to let everybody know here that it’s never too late. I want you guys to enjoy because we only f*cking live once.” we realise that the show that night was as much for Jackson Wang as it was for his dedicated fans.

Following hard-hitting performances of fan favourites ‘Cruel’ and ‘Blow’, Jackson returned to the stage after chants of “encore” and delivered his final performances for the night. It was as if the entire concert atmosphere had transformed into that of a club. We see Jackson heading downstage once more to interact with fans and pull staff, backstage crew, and even family members up on stage to share the party experience.

Speaking of fan service, we cannot forget how he single-handedly climbed up to the second floor of the indoor stadium to reach the fans there, much to the excitement (and astonishment) of both fans and security detail alike.

In the final moments leading to the end of the concert, Jackson shared his favourite things about Singapore, including how our Hainanese chicken rice is the best and recalling his first time on our sunny island as a participant during the 2010 Youth Olympic Games , even showing off the tattoo that he got to remember it by. 

When one recalls the night, they will fondly talk about Jackson’s impressive performances, which spanned themes of abandonment to hope. They will remember the artist as an unapologetically confident and exceedingly talented individual who shines the brightest on stage.

From putting on stunning stage performances with no shortage of theatrics to embracing his vulnerability and sharing his story and raw personal experiences — everything Jackson does, makes one perceive him for the magic man that he truly is. 

“Thank you, Singapore. I love you as always. Promise me one thing. I want you to take away something home and find your own magic.” 

Thanks to Jackson Wang, we certainly did.
