Jeremy Clarkson Returns To Barbados With New Love Interest

The last time Jeremy Clarkson was in Barbados, he was in the company of his colleagues, Richard Hammond and James May . They were busy filming a segment for The Grand Tour where their goal was to save the coral reefs of the world by creating a new reef. The idea was they would sink several stripped-out cars (or just one car, as it ended up being) in order to encourage reef growth. Let’s just hope his most recent trip to Barbados isn’t nearly as calamitous.

Clarkson was seen on February the 18th leaving the airport in Barbados with his new love interest. Since his split in 2014 with his second wife and manager, Frances Cain, he’s been romantically linked with several women. Most recently, however, he’s been seeing Lisa Hogan .

So, who is she? You might know her from a couple of different places. The Irish-born Hogan is the ex-wife of Baron Steven Bentinck, an eccentric playboy better known as Baron Bonkers. You might have also seen her in the movie Fierce Creatures . She was cast as the sea lion keeper, after catching the eye of John Cleese, who stars in the movie.

While in Barbados, the couple were the guests of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, a famous English composer, playwright, songwriter, and member of the House of Lords. He is also, technically, the Baron Lloyd-Webber, having been made a life peer. Think of a famous musical  and it was probably done by him; Evita , Cats , The Phantom of the Opera,  and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat , to name a few. Let’s hope they had a relaxing trip, because Clarkson was already back to the grindstone today, having been spotted at Gatwick Airport in London.

Even though Clarkson recently described his job on The Grand Tour as “going around the world, having holidays,” it’s also a lot of work, and soon it’ll all have to start all over again. According to the trio, planning for series two is already well under way, and filming is scheduled to begin soon. Especially if they are going to be premiering the new season before the end of the year.

The Grand Tour trio headed to Barbados during the show's first season

As we eagerly await the next episode of The Grand Tour , a particularly hilarious clip from one of the show’s best episodes has been posted to YouTube.

This clip comes from the 10th episode of The Grand Tour’s first season when Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond headed to Barbados to construct an artificial coral reef using the bodies of five cars. It was an excellent episode and this video shows one of the most entertaining segments.

After dropping two car bodies into the ocean, the trio had to anchor the cars to the ocean floor so they didn’t float away in the currents. To make this happen, James May had to dive down. Unfortunately for him, Clarkson and Hammond were left with the task of supplying him with oxygen while he was under the water.

This required manual labor and as we all know, Clarkson doesn’t like manual labor. As such, they decided to unplug May’s air and attach it to a generator to do the work for him. While Clarkson and Hammond enjoyed the sunshine and crystal clear water of Barbados, May is left on the ocean floor. Before long, Clarkson decides to take things into his own hands and dives down with a welder to secure the cars in place. It doesn’t go well.

A couple of months ago, James May confirmed that the trio recently finished filming a new episode of The Grand Tour in Scotland. This new episode will be released later in the year. The trio are also said to have started filming another episode in April and are hopeful that they can head overseas later this year for another episode.

Synopsis [ ]

The presenters then travel to Barbados to solve the problem of dying corals by dumping five car body shells into the ocean. The first attempt is disastrous, as they lose two cars and the boat they were attempting to load them on to. Because they had sunk the cars in the harbour used by cruise ships, they are asked to leave by the authorities.

Constructing a raft and hiring a crane boat, they manage to drop two cars into the reef site, and May is assigned to anchor them down while Clarkson and Hammond go jet skiing. When they discover that May was unable to anchor the cars down, Clarkson dives in and welds them to the sea bed.

Back in Barbados, the presenters discover that the cars have washed back into the beach. In their attempt to get the cars back into the sea, their raft is disintegrated. After May unsuccessfully uses a bulldozer to pull the cars back to the harbour, Clarkson uses their crane boat to pull them back into the ocean before they are kicked out of the hotel premises. The next morning, they pull a Land Rover into the ocean before Clarkson ditches his partners to chase an MOD70-class trimaran. They eventually reach the reef site and sink the Land Rover.

Track Test [ ]

Clarkson drives the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in Wales, before testing its speed around the Eboladrome .

Conversation Street [ ]

Sting: The presenters are standing, with Hammond at a significantly smaller height.

Clarkson brings up the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, much to the annoyance of Hammond. Then the trio discuss why the pickup truck never caught up in the U.K. Also, they talk about the decline of American automotive design. During the conversation, Clarkson brings up an awkward moment at the airport when May mentioned that his jacket smelled of old record players.

Celebrity Brain Crash [ ]

Back in the tent, the presenters introduce Celebrity Brain Crash with former AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson. On the way to the tent, he is tackled and trampled to death by football players. This leads to the presenters and the audience having a bit of a disagreement about the meaning of the word "football".

Tent Location [ ]

The tent is in Nashville, Tennessee facing the Cumberland River.

Cars featured [ ]

This is the second time, the presenters have a fight with the audience, ending with them chanting 'USA'. The first is in The Holy Trinity .

Their high-octane motoring antics and amusing squabbles on The Grand Tour have kept audiences very entertained so far.

But Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May proved they could also tackle serious topics, as they attempted to save the world's coral reefs in Barbados in episode ten.

A brand new teaser for the hit show showed their efforts going awry however, as James clumsily drives a bulldozer through a pristine sandy beach - before the trio manage to spectacularly drop the shell of a car into the sea.

The Grand Tour travelling tent arrives in Nashville, Tennessee - from where Jeremy , Richard and James introduce their attempt to save coral reefs.

In the interests of conservation, the three travel to Barbados and begin an earnest attempt to establish a new reef using only some car bodyshells as a foundation.

And it seems his lack of enthusiasm held good reason - as the next scene shows the trio accidentally dropping the shell of a car into the sea from a crane.

Continuing the streak of reckless abandon, the trailer also shows a spot of useless boat steering, and an embarrassing moment with a local hotel.

Also in this show, Jeremy finally indulges his series-long Alfa Romeo obsession with a test of the new, 500 horsepower Giulia Quadrifoglio.

Meanwhile Premiership giants Chelsea were the butt of Jeremy Clarkson’s rather forthright brand of humour during a recent skit on The Grand Tour.

The outspoken presenter, 56, attempted to impress the club’s superstar players after paying a visit to their Cobham training ground in his imposing, custom built £14,000 Mercedes SL and Land Rover Discovery.

But after a contingent of foreign players, amongst them Spanish striker Diego Costa, Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard and goalkeeping compatriot Thibaut Courtois, offered opinions in their native tongue, Clarkson slyly duped them with the aid of incorrect subtitles.

Indeed, in-form Costa's indifferent reaction to the vehicle was interpreted as 'I would swap every goal and every trophy to own one of these,' while Hazard's equally tame reaction was reinterpreted as the rather more enthusiastic 'Tomorrow morning I'm going to sell all of my cars and get one of these.'

Elsewhere statuesque Courtois' reaction was transformed into: 'What's perfect for me is that there's loads of headroom.'

England international Gary Cahill also fell foul of Clarkson's mirth after chastising the presenter for 'butchering a classic car,' with his negative comment reinterpreted as 'You've made an exquisite SUV.'

The Grand Tour episode 10 will be aired on Amazon Prime this Friday.

Operation Jofra: Inside England’s ‘grand plan’ to get Archer fit for the Ashes

A fter more than four years of injury hell, it’s no surprise that Jofra Archer admitted this week he may be forced to quit cricket if he suffers another setback in the coming months.

Speaking to the Athlete’s Voice podcast, run by 4Cast, the company set up by Archer, England captain Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad, the fast bowler said: “I don’t know if I’ve got another stop-start year in me. That’s the truth, I don’t know if I’ve got another one.”

This was the first time Archer has spoken publicly about his latest return from injury – the long-term problem with his right elbow that required surgery for the third time last April and forced him to miss last summer’s Ashes . Yet unlike when he played club cricket in his native Barbados last December without England’s knowledge, his appearance on the Athlete’s Voice podcast was signed off by the England & Wales Cricket Board.

Despite the downbeat tone of his comments, there is cautious optimism from both England and Sussex that the 29-year-old, who burst onto the international scene when helping England win the World Cup in the summer of 2019, has turned a corner after being restricted to just seven international games in three years.

Every England player in India rated out of 10 - and whose futures are in doubt

Indeed, he last played a competitive game, in the Indian Premier League, last May. His last first-class game was in May 2021.

However, there is, as England director of cricket Rob Key admitted last month , a “grand plan” to get Archer back for this June’s T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA.

After that England are keen to slowly build up his workload by playing just white-ball cricket this summer with a view to getting him “robust” enough, as Key put it, to make a return to Test cricket next year, starting with the home summer series against India and then the Ashes in Australia that follow.

i has spoken to people at the ECB and Sussex who are close to the “grand plan”. They are all cautiously optimistic he will be ready for the T20 World Cup in in six weeks’ time. It looks as though he is certain to be included in the squad that is announced at the end of this month barring any further setbacks.

It can also be revaled his first step towards playing in that tournament is scheduled to come in a Sussex second XI Championship match against Kent at Beckenham on 14 May. Despite it being red-ball cricket, i understands he will be restricted to short spells that have yet to be determined by England’s medical team.

It is hoped that will allow Archer to gain confidence in match conditions so that he is ready for England’s four-match T20 series against Pakistan that starts the following week. They then fly to the Caribbean for the World Cup the day after the series ends on 30 May.

There is an admission from England and Sussex that long-term projections for Archer, such as playing in the 2025-26 Ashes , cannot be made with any certainty at the moment. Yet the fact England offered him a three-year central contract last October – he eventually agreed on two years – reveals a confidence about his long-term prospects.

Archer is currently back in his native Barbados, ramping up his recovery by training and playing club cricket for Wildey in the Barbados Cricket Association Twenty20 Cup.

Things are, so far, looking good for him ahead of the start of England’s T20 World Cup campaign against Scotland back in Barbados on 4 June.

i has been told he is in daily contact with England’s medical team during his time in the Caribbean. As well as playing club games he is also bowling in the nets once every two to three days, as he did during pre-season at Sussex, and slowly ramping up his workloads.

Last month he played two matches for Sussex on their 10-day pre-season tour of India, bowling 11 overs in total across a T20 and two-day match against the Karnataka State Association in Bangalore. “He came with us to India and from what we’ve seen in pre-season so far, he’s bowling with exceptional pace,” was the verdict of Sussex coach Paul Farbrace when he spoke at the county’s pre-season media day at Hove last month.

A Sussex source on that trip told i that Archer, who broke the off-stump of team-mate Oli Carter when he played for Karnataka in the second of those matches, was bowling pain free and at “full bore”, adding: “He looks like he’s got a real killer instinct again.”

They also revealed that despite his comments this week, Archer was extremely upbeat in India. One example given was his willingness to go to the New Base School in Bangalore to hand out T-shirts and snacks to orphaned children. It was an appearance he didn’t have to make – no other Sussex players went – but Archer was keen to go despite the four-hour round trip. It was, i has been told, a good indication of where he is mentally at the moment.

This is all positive but multiple sources have said that the “grand plan”, although sketched out until the next Ashes, will be reappraised at the end of the T20 World Cup.

DRS insider admits rare error was behind Zak Crawley's controversial lbw

If all goes well in the Caribbean, he is likely to play at the back end of the T20 Blast for Sussex in July and then in the Hundred. Next winter, England are keen for him to be part of their white-ball tours of the West Indies in November, India in January and then the Champions Trophy that is scheduled to take place in Pakistan the following month.

Although not yet decided, the expectation would be that Archer skips the 2025 IPL again as he did this year so he can concentrate on a full return to red-ball cricket with Sussex at the start of next summer ahead of the five home Tests against India.

Given his injury history, it’s understandable that Archer, England and Sussex are all being as cautious as they can around his return. Yet having him available for the next Ashes in Australia in 18 months’ time would be a gamechanger for England.

The spell in the 2019 Ashes at Lord’s where he reached a top speed of 96.7 miles per hour and concussed Steve Smith was compelling. The fact he has not faced Australia in Test cricket since is heartbreaking. But the prospect of him being added to Bazball’s armoury Down Under in 2025 is tantalising.

Yet it is worth reminding ourselves of what Key said last month: “We take each day as it comes with Jofra. If it happens, let’s wait and see.”
