Alejandra Guzman Tour 2024

Alejandra Guzman tour 2024 announced : Mexican stars Alejandra Guzman and Paulina Rubio are on the road in 2022 with their joint tour called "Perrísimas". Mexican superstar Alejandra Guzmán will embark on a massive tour with Paulina Rubio in 2022. His Perrisimas Tour starts on April 15 in Orlando and covers the month of May visiting major cities such as New York, Nashville, Atlanta, Hidalgo, San Diego, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In early 2021, the iconic musician appeared at the 2021 Lo Nuestro Awards alongside Daddy Yankee, Maluma, Ozuna, Luis Fonsi, Prince Royce and Marc Anthony.

Guzmán will continue to support his latest studio album 'A + No Poder', released on September 11, 2015 by Sony Music Latin. The new album peaked at #12 on the Billboard Latin charts and features an appearance by Farruko on the track 'Adiós'. In 2017, he joined forces with Gloria Trevi for a massive North American tour that lasted until 2018. Since her early career in 1988, the singer has received 1 Latin Grammy and 2 Juventud Awards among many other accolades.

An unlikely pair - since both were often pitted against each other throughout their careers - Guzmán and Rubio "will face off in a series of unique shows in life" for the United States with a tour that will begin on April 15 in Orlando and end on May 22 in Los Angeles. Without a large promotional company linked to the tour, the 23-date race will be produced by the artists themselves.

Guzmán, known to her fans as "La Reina de Corazones (Queen of Corazones)", garnered a total of $11.6 million and sold 265,000 tickets for 69 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. Meanwhile, Rubio, a.k.a. "La Chica Dorada (Golden Girl)", sold 91,000 tickets in 36 shows and raised $3.4 million.

Pre-sale starts today (December 15) at noon, while tickets for the general public Alejandra Guzman 2024 tickets will be put on sale on Friday, December 17 at 10 am.

Alejandra Guzmán returns to Houston with one-time rival Paulina Rubio

Guzmán and rubio both dated singer erik rubin in the early '90s, and it led to a public spat..

Mexican rock singer Alejandra Guzman

Alejandra Guzmán has a long history with Houston.

The Mexican rock powerhouse was last here in 2019 at the Arena Theatre. Before that, she and Gloria Trevi brought the Versus World Tour to Sugar Land for a pair of sold-out shows.

BESTIES: Omar Chaparro and Mauricio Ochmann talk Mexican road comedy ‘¿Y Cómo Es Él?’

Guzmán is known for her brash onstage persona. It’s part of what’s made her a certified icon. But she says it’s previously gotten her into some trouble in Houston.

“I always want to give the best in Houston because I feel like I owe them. How can I explain this?” she says with a sheepish laugh. “Sometimes you don’t listen, and you don’t care. You don’t care about yourself. You’re tired. And you get drunk.”

Guzmán is here May 5 as part of the Perrisimas Tour with pop diva Paulina Rubio. They’ll perform decades of hits at Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land.

“I haven’t drunk in a long time, so now I’m gonna show a totally different Alejandra. But it’s part of me, you know?,” she says. “It’s the essence. It’s always there. The only thing I’m getting rid of is the part that destroys me.”

Guzmán and Rubio have a long, prickly history. They both dated singer Erik Rubin in the early ‘90s, and it led to a public rivalry. Guzmán has admitted her song “Hey Güera” was a dig at the blonde-haired Rubio. ( “Güera” is slang for a blonde woman.)

Rubio’s debut single “Mio” ( “Mine”) has long been rumored to be a response to “Hey Güera.” She sings about a man being “halfway” hers and “with someone else.” Adding to the drama, both songs were produced by Miguel Blasco.

Now, the Mexican superstars are sharing a stage. They even close the concerts with a “Hey Güera” and “Mio” mash-up.

“I believe that people need a little bit of pepper,” Guzmán says with a laugh. “It’s surreal. It’s strange. But that’s part of it. It’s a little bit of a game for me.”

Guzmán spoke about the tour and staying true to herself from her home in Mexico.

Paulina Rubio, left, and Alejandra Guzman onstage during the first night of the Perrisimas Tour.

Q: Why this tour with someone who caused you so much angst?

A: Because they talk a lot about us, and we were in a way rivals because of a man a long time ago. It’s part of this show. Taking all these things and putting it together. We come from two different worlds. It’s a little crazy, but I’m glad to come back to work. To come back to the theaters, to the stage, to listen to the applause. I miss it so much.

Q: What has your relationship with Rubio been like prior to Perrisimas?

Perrisimas Tour with Alejandra Guzmán and Paulina Rubio

When: 7:30 p.m. May 5

Where: Smart Financial Centre, 18111 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land

Tickets: $69.50-$125; ticketmaster.com

A: With Paulina, we were in the same area code. We both lived in Pedregal. My brother used to go out with her. She came with pink hair. I remember asking her to give me some of it. And she did! I have a lot of memories. And the bad memories because of Erik. I knew he was unfaithful. But I believe that sometimes it’s the man, not the woman. But maybe both. I don’t know.

Q: What did you learn from Trevi about touring with someone else?

A: It was iconic because she is also very strong. She’s a great artist, and I respect her and I love her. She’s an Aquarius like I am. (I learned) to respect. To have patience. To put myself in the middle and let the other person meet me there. You have to learn how to share. And you have to learn how to see things in a business way. I’ve been learning to do that, and it’s not easy. I know it’s not. But I did it, and my father was amazed. He always tells me, “Be patient, be patient, be patient.”

Q: You’ve been able to evolve as an artist and stay true to yourself. Is it a tough balance?

A: I came back to my old Alejandra, to my old rock ‘n’ roll self. You always try to do something better, but the one that everybody knows is what works. Like “Hey Güera,” the arrangement of that song, it doesn’t need anything. It’s powerful, and sometimes I say, “Why am I not playing this song as it is?”

Alejandra Guzman's debut album, 'Bye Mamá,' was released in 1988.

Q: Are there songs that still excite you every time you perform them?

A: Of course! “Eternamente Bella” is, like, “Yeah!” I still feel pretty and happy and young. I like “La plaga” because everybody goes crazy with it. I like “Diablo en mi” because I play a big drum. It’s like my recess time.

Q: What are must-haves to take with you on the road?

A: I take palo santo to burn off all the bad vibes. Palo santo and copal. A candle. And just feeling the connection with the powerful one. I try to meditate. I try to do things to get in control of my life and to program myself with what I want to feel and to make new connections in my brain and my body. We have everything to fix ourselves. We have to believe in ourselves and talk to ourselves, talk to our bodies, talk to our neurons. I was reading something that said, “If you see outside, you dream. If you see inside, you awaken.”

Q: Live performances are finally back on track. And this show falls on Cinco de Mayo.

It’s been a long time waiting for this moment. We need art. We need to express. We need to sing, to dance, to be free.

‘Like Oil and Water:’ How Divas Alejandra Guzmán and Paulina Rubio Made a Tour Work

By Tomás Mier

Las Perrísimas Tour. /a>. That’s what Latin pop and rock icons Alejandra Guzmán and Paulina Rubio named their co-headlining U.S. trek. The literal translation for that audacious name is “The Bitchiest Tour” — or better yet, call it “The Bad Bitches Tour.” Either way, the run of shows they launched last month are bringing together two queens who have both been lauded as pioneers for an event like no other.

Long pitted against each other as rivals, Guzmán and  Rubio, who are both in their early fifties, met for coffee before the pandemic and began to discuss how they could bring their two forces together — Paulina on the Nineties pop side, and Alejandra with her roquera vibes. As live concerts started up again last year, bringing their stacked discographies on the road for a tour seemed like the right thing to do.

“We have everything different from each other, but it works,” Guzman says. “Each of us has our own world.” On stage, Rubio adds, the two combine and bring that “spicy girl power.”

They say their supposed rivalry was mostly concocted by Mexican media, thanks to a certain famous ex — Erik Rubin of teen pop group Timbiriche, which Rubio was also in — who was flirting with both women at the same time at the peak of their success. “It was a long time ago that we had a boyfriend in common,” Guzman says with a laugh. “It’s all very funny.”

Last month, they kicked off their countrywide trek, bringing such hits as Guzmán’s “Eternamente Bella” and “Hacer el Amor con Otro” and Rubio’s “Ni Una Sola Palabra” and “El Último Adios” to audiences that range in age from teens to grandmas.

“Even the bottom of our tongues hurt,” Rubio says. “We’ve been preparing our minds, body and soul for this tour. It’s not only our voices.”

“I’m feeling good with my titanium hip replacement,” adds Guzmán with a laugh. “I am enjoying dancing and being on stage.”

Unlike some other co-headlining tours, the two singers start their sets together, before taking turns performing their laundry list of hits. They end the show with a “versus” medley that taps into the drama surrounding their friendship, with songs from early in their careers that alluded to the rumors of competition between them. Together, they perform Rubio’s “Mío” — “Don’t even get close to him, he’s mine/He’s with another girl, but he’s mine,” she sings on the track — and Guzman’s “Hey Güera,” or “Hey Blondie.” (Think Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” vibes for that one.) Rubio also does a medley of Rubin’s Timbiriche hits, a silly dig at the old tea.

“This tour is not about us, this is about a whole generation that can relieve some pressure from their shoulders,” Rubio says. “It’s really cool to break the mold of the preconceptions of the past.”

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

Rubio and Guzmán are transparent about what it’s like being on the road with each other: “It’s been like oil and water,” admits Rubio. “But at the same time we have a lot of things in common: We are women, we are mothers, and we love music. That allows oil and water to get along. It’s like throwing firewood to a flame… It’s a privilege.”

Guzmán agrees, and says that lately, their relationship has been “beautiful.” “I can understand the many things she is going through, and I’m trying to be a kind partner as much as I can,” Guzmán says. “Sometimes there are differences, but the stage is sacred. I was taught to respect that.”

Guzmán knows a thing or two about sharing a tour. Before this year, she made a collaborative album and went on an accompanying tour with fellow pop-rock singer Gloria Trevi. That experience seemed to bring the two artists closer. This time, things are slightly different.

“The concept, the music, the personalities… but that’s the wonder of working on projects with different stars, because they are two very different artists,” Guzmán says. “I’m proud of being able to share the stage with people that already had their history… I don’t know, when you are a woman, it’s different. You can see how much they’ve had to work. The love for the stage, the love for life prevails.”

Their tour comes as the two celebrate large milestones for some of their greatest hits. This year, Rubio’s debut album, La Chica Dorada , which inspired her nickname, turns 30. “When I sing them at shows, it doesn’t feel like these songs are 30 years old,” she says. “I think they were part of a revolution, especially with the mix of [genres] like ranchero and hip-hop.”

As for Guzmán, even with her decades of experience since releasing her iconic debut album, Eternamente Bella, in 1990, she says she’s always ready to learn. She even started taking vocal lessons for the first time recently.

“I’ve learned to have more discipline. I had never taken vocal lessons before, so it is incredible that I never learned how to sing until now,” she says with a cackle. “I don’t understand how I made it! Now I have a coach, and that is something that amazes me. I do warm-ups, I lubricate my throat — things I never had any idea of — to make my life easier. I think I’m a little late!”

Glass Animals Will Embark on 'Tour of Earth' With 2024 Live Shows

Santigold announces new shows after canceling entire tour in 2022, orville peck announces expansive stampede tour ahead of willie nelson collab.

One thing’s for sure: both women are ready to have their audiences rock on.

“I want you to be wild and furious. I want you to shake your head and believe in new beginnings,” says Rubio. “I want you to go to the concert and forget about your problems for two or three hours and just be yourself. Like a wild Friday, even if it’s a Thursday.”

I am of Latin descent, so naturally I have always been a huge fan of Paulina Rubio. The thing is I have never seen her in concert before! So I called my friend and asked if she would be interested in seeing Paulina Rubio with me and she obliged. We picked up our concert tickets and drove to the venue. We waited in line for maybe an hour or two before they let us into the giant venue.

We got seats that were pretty far away because we were pretty broke at the time, but I was still happy I was getting to see Paulina Rubio. She finally took the stage and opened with something I never thought she would open with, which were a few songs off her La Chica Dorada album.

This is always a nice treat for people who are not familiar with her earlier work. After that she mostly sang songs off her Brava album and Gran City Pop. She has such an amazing voice and I was so happy to see her live. She has a stage presence that is undeniable and It gave me chills to see her dance and move and sing on stage and look beautiful as well.

One of the best show I’ve attended to. This show made me lose my voice and everything. The energy she brought on stage, the engagement with the fans, the whole theatre was filled with love and passion. I trully had the time of my life and I can’t wait to see her again.

I saw her at the Machaca festival in 2022, the energy and presence that Paulina has on stage is amazing, I really enjoyed her stage, one of the best of the day.

Hoping to see her in solo concert soon.
