Black Travel Expo 2024

The Black Travel Expo serves as a dynamic platform dedicated to celebrating and promoting travel experiences tailored to black travelers. Through a diverse array of activities including destination showcases, panel discussions, cultural performances, and networking opportunities, the Expo aims to empower, inspire, and connect individuals interested in exploring the world while highlighting the richness of black culture and heritage. From showcasing unique travel destinations to providing resources and services catered specifically to black travelers, the Expo fosters a sense of community, advocacy, and empowerment within the travel industry while promoting diversity, inclusion, and cultural exchange on a global scale.

The general terms and conditions outline the legal agreement between the organizers of the Black Travel Expo and its participants, establishing the rules, responsibilities, and expectations governing attendance and participation. These terms typically cover aspects such as ticket purchases, event access, liability waivers, conduct guidelines, intellectual property rights, cancellation policies, and privacy provisions. By agreeing to these terms, participants consent to abide by the rules set forth by the organizers and acknowledge their understanding of the rights and obligations associated with attending the Expo. Failure to comply with these terms may result in consequences such as denied entry, expulsion from the event, or legal action.

What is the Black Travel Expo?

Black Travel Expo is a multi-city annual conference created to provide a professional and inclusive meeting place and platform for people of color who love to travel, learn about destinations, gain knowledge about the travel industry, and share their travel stories. The expo is designed to showcase various cultures and travel experiences to educate people of color on how travel can change and impact their lives forever.

When is the Black Travel Expo?

Black Travel Expo is hosting its annual conference to bring together some of the best and brightest Black travel professionals and enthusiasts. BTE is excited to host its 3-day conference in the flagship city of Atlanta on June 9-11, 2023, and is introducing a new host city, Los Angeles, with a conference being held on March 10-12, 2023. Additionally, BTE is proud to announce The Gathering Spot as its conference location for the Los Angeles and Atlanta installments of the expo.

What can attendees expect?

BTE’s curated programming features panel discussions, breakout sessions, and networking interactions for the travel industry’s leading professionals, social media influencers, tour operators, travel enthusiasts, and aspirational travelers. BTE is an important and unique opportunity to spotlight and amplify the travel experiences of Black travelers as they seek inspiration and knowledge to explore domestic and international destinations.

What was the inspiration for the event?

Initially motivated by the game-changing Black Travel Alliance (BTA) and MMGY Global report on Black U.S. leisure travel, the Black Travel Expo’s founder and CEO Maurice Foley took action to fill an obvious need for a travel event curated for and catered towards people of color. With spending among Black travelers reaching a remarkable $109.4 billion in 2019, Mr. Foley sought to create the expo to provide a platform specifically for Black travel consumers and entrepreneurs.
