In This Post – Types of Canadian visas – What is TRV? – Types of TRV – Eligibility criteria – Multiple Entry vs Single Entry – Required documents – How to apply – Visa fees – Processing time

Lauded as one of the most livable countries in the world, Canada usually retains a high ranking on every traveller’s bucket list. From boasting snow-covered mountain peaks and breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls to offering both a simple countryside lifestyle as well as meticulously planned cosmopolitan cities, this North American country attracts legions of tourists every year. It is also a top-rated tourist destination among those living in Pakistan. So, if you are planning a trip to the beautiful country, you’ll first need to obtain a Canada Visitor Visa.

Since the visa application process can be rather overwhelming and may even appear a little daunting for green passport holders, we’ve brought you a detailed guide on how to apply for a Canadian visa from Pakistan for the purpose of tourism.

Unless you are a dual-national and hold the nationality of Canada, the United States or any other country apart from Pakistan, you will most likely have to get a visit visa for Canada to be able to travel there. However, if you are a dual-nationality holder, you may only need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to be able to enter the country.

Before we discuss the eligibility criteria for Canada Visitor Visa, application requirements and process, let’s take a look at the main types of Canadian visas that one can apply for.

Types of Canadian Visas

Types of Canadian Visas

These are the different types and categories of visas offered by the Canadian government.

  • Visitor visas
  • Student visas
  • Business Immigrant visas
  • Express Entry Program visas
  • Permanent Residence visas

If you are planning to apply for a Canadian visa from Pakistan, you must first figure out which of these visas fit the motive of your visits. If you are only travelling to meet your family members, friends or for recreational purposes, you’ll have to apply for a Canada Visit Visa. On the other hand, if you’re planning to study or work in Canada, you may have to obtain a Student Visa or Work Visa instead. These are also called Temporary Visas. Permanent residence visas, business immigrant visas and express entry program visas are all types of permanent visas where the applicant shows his or her intent to stay in the country for a longer period of time.

You must select the type of visa that best suits your purpose of visit. However, we’ll be focusing on Visitor Visa, which is a Temporary Resident Visa, better known as TRV.

Canadian Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

how to apply for Canada visa from Pakistan

As the name suggests, these visas are issued to people who want to visit Canada for a short period of time (six months or less). Canada Visitor Visa is usually obtained for the purposes of tourism, meeting family and business etc. You cannot seek a job or join a study program while in Canada on this visa. Similarly, you cannot apply for Canadian citizenship, claim health coverage and other benefits, or apply for any government documents during your stay in the country.

If you have secured admission in a short-term study program that will end within six months, you may apply for a Canadian visitor visa after clarifying your purpose of visit.

Types of Canadian Temporary Resident Visas (TRV)

Types of Canadian Temporary Resident Visas (TRV)

Here are some of the main categories of Temporary Resident Visas based on the purpose of the visit:

Canada Visitor Visa: It is the most common type of visa people in Pakistan apply for. It is also called Canada Tourist Visa.

Canada Super Visa : This type of visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents to visit their family for up to two years at a time

Canada Diplomatic and Official Visa: Governmental officials and diplomats can obtain this visa to visit Canada for official purposes

Canada Courtesy Visa: This visa is issued to government officials and diplomats who do not qualify for the Diplomatic and Official Visa

Facilitation Visa : Canadian citizens with dual nationalities who do not have their Canadian passports can enter the country on this visa

Business Persons and Business Delegations Visa : This type of TRV is issued to business executives and delegations who intend to visit Canada to attend seminars, workshops, meetings, conference and participate in trade shows etc.

Dual Intent Visa : This category of visa is issued to people who intend to apply for a permanent resident visa during their stay in Canada.

Eligibility Criteria for Canada Visitor Visa

Eligibility Criteria for Canada Visitor Visa

This is the primary criteria to be eligible to get a visitor visa for Canada (or any other type of temporary visa, for that matter).

  • The primary applicant must be at least 18 years old
  • Have a government-issued passport with at least one blank page to stamp visa (excluding the last page)
  • The passport must be valid for at least six months
  • Have identity, education and family documents translated in English or French
  • No criminal history, human rights violations or immigration-related convictions
  • Have enough funds to cover the stay in Canada as well as pay the visa application and processing fees
  • Have enough ties in Pakistan (such as family, job, university etc.) to convince visa officers that the applicant will leave Canada at the end of his or her visit

Apart from the eligibility criteria mentioned above, there are some specific requirements that have to be met in order to apply for a Canadian tourist visa from Pakistan.

  • You must have an itinerary of the places will be visiting in Canada
  • Details of flights and hotel bookings
  • In case you are planning to stay with family members or friends, their details will be required as well

Please note that these requirements may vary on a case-to-case basis. Although you’ll be provided with a complete list of documents that need to be submitted once you sign up on the official Government of Canada website for Immigration and Citizenship, it is important to mention that failure to meet these requirements may result in rejection of your visa applications. In some cases, however, the visa officer may ask you to submit additional proof to their consulate.

Multiple Entry Visa vs Single Entry Visa

How to Apply for Canadian Visit Visa from Pakistan

All Canada Visitor Visa applicants are initially considered for a multiple entry visa, which allows them to enter the country multiple times within a certain duration.

The multiple entry visa is usually valid for 10 years and lets you stay in Canada for a period of six months at a time. Meanwhile, the single entry visa allows you to visit Canada only once.

These visas are issued at the discretion of the visa officer and depends largely on your purpose of visit, previous travel history, ties in Canada, and other factors.

It is also pertinent to mention that whether you are granted a multiple or single entry visa, the border officer may stamp a date on your passport or give you a document called visitor record, showing the date by which you need to leave Canada. This stamp might allow you to stay in Canada for a period shorter than 6 months.

List of Required Documents

Here is a checklist of documents required to apply for a Canadian visa from Pakistan. These documents must either be in English or French and may vary with each situation.

  • Valid passport
  • Identity documents (such as National Identity Card, Family Registration Form, etc.)
  • Duly filled Canada Tourist Visa Application form
  • Proof of funds in the form of a bank or another financial statement
  • A complete travel itinerary including flight reservations and hotel bookings
  • A letter of invitation, if you are visiting family or friends in Canada
  • Proof of the relationship, if you are visiting your immediate family members such as siblings, parents and children
  • The immigration statuses of family and friends whom you’re visiting
  • Bank statements of your family or friends, if they are paying for your trip
  • Educational documents (degrees and diplomas)
  • Employment letter stating your contractual obligations which would require you to return to your home country
  • Property deed, lease or rental agreement to prove that you will leave Canada at the end of your visa
  • Court documents or police clearance certificates proving you have no prior criminal history

How to Apply for a Canada Visitor Visa

application process for canada visitor visa

There are two ways you can apply for a Canada visit visa from Pakistan

  • Online application
  • Manual application

It is recommended to apply for a Canadian visa online as it is more time and cost-effective. You won’t have to pay charges for courier nor will have to wait for mail delivery time. Instead, your application will be received and processed more quickly than the ones submitted manually.

Moreover, when applying online, the system will notify you about missing documents or incomplete information. Similarly, you can quickly submit additional documents online if needed and check the status of your application through your online account. On the other hand, those applying in person will have to rely on regular mail to receive and send documents, which can be time-consuming.

However, whether you apply online or in person, you will be required to visit the Canadian Consulate for an interview or biometrics, if required.

Since most people apply for a Canadian tourist visa online, here’s a step-by-guide on how to go about it.

Step 1: Visit the official Government of Canada website, click on ‘Immigration and Citizenship,’ and then click on ‘Visit.’

Step 2: Click on ‘Find out if you need a visa.’ You will be redirected to a survey, which you can fill to find out if you need a Canada visitor visa or an ETA

Step 3: If you are found eligible for a visa, click on ‘Apply for a Visitor Visa’ button. It will redirect you to a webpage containing all the pertinent information about the application process.

Step 4: Once you’ve read all the information, click on ‘Apply’ in the top navigation bar and select your chosen method of application submission. If you choose ‘on paper,’ you’ll be asked to download an application package. It will also include the complete Canada visitor visa checklist. However, if you choose the ‘online’ option, you will be redirected to another page. Click on ‘Apply for a visitor visa’ to proceed.

Step 5: If you are applying to get a visitor visa for Canada for the first time, you will have to click on the ‘Register’ button

Step 6: You can now register for an IRCC secure account with either a GC Key or a Sign-In Partner. The latter requires your Canadian online banking information, so it’s recommended to register with a GC Key. Click on the required button to get redirected to the next page.

Step 7: Once logged in, you can start working on your online Canadian visa application form.

Step 8: Upload scans of required documents and submit your application along with the application fee. For this, you’ll need a valid Credit or Debit Card.

Step 9: It takes about 5 days for an application to appear on your IRCC account.

Step 10: If your application is reviewed positively, you will be required to visit the Canadian Consulate for an interview and/or biometric information. Please note that there is a separate fee for biometrics.

Step 11: Once your Canadian visa application is approved, you’ll have to submit your passport to the consulate for stamping. For online applicants, the consulate will notify you where to send your passport for further processing. You will also have to pay a processing fee.

Step 12: Your stamped passport will either be handed over or mailed back to you. Once you receive it, check all the details to make sure there aren’t any errors.

You can now start making arrangements for your travel.

Canadian Visitor Visa Application Fee

Wondering how much a visitor visa application for Canada costs? Well, here is a breakdown of Canadian visa fees in Pakistan for 2020.

Visa Processing Time

Canada visa processing time

The processing time for a Canadian visit visa from Pakistan is usually between 10 and 35 days.

Obtaining a visitor visa for Canada means that the Consulate in Pakistan has deemed you eligible to enter Canada. Visitor Visa

Program overview.

Visitor Visa:

If you are looking to enter Canada as a visitor, you will need to have a Canadian visitor visa .

Getting your visitor visa approved allows you to get a temporary resident’s status in Canada.

However, there are a few things people need to know to check if they qualify for the visitor visa or not.

This is what this article aims to focus on.

Details about the Canadian Visitor Visa:

A Canadian visitor visa allows foreign nationals to enter Canada as temporary residents.

Canada offers both multiple entry and single entry visitor visas.

The only difference between these two types is that the single entry visa grants you access to visit Canada for one time only. In contrast, multiple entry visa grants you access to visit Canada for multiples times.

For example, if you have a single entry visa and you leave Canada after visiting it, you will need another visa to go back there.

A multiple entry visa, however, allows you to visit Canada multiple times if you have exited the country.

Both of these visa types allow you to stay in Canada for a maximum of 6 months.

At the port of entry, an officer will stamp your passport and put a date in it which will highlight the date you must leave by.

The officer may also give you a document called a visitor record. This is a document that an officer issues to you to restrict or extend your stay in Canada.

However, if you do not get a stamp on your passport, you can stay in Canada for a total of 6 months, or until your passport expires.

The visa is issued by the Canadian High Commission upon submission of the correct paperwork.

Individuals who are not deemed inadmissible may apply for a Canadian visitor visa.

If you are wondering what makes a person inadmissible, then it refers to those people involved in the activities mentioned below. These people cannot apply for a Canadian visitor visa:

  • Involved in a criminal activity
  • Committed human rights violations
  • Involved in an organized crime
  • Misrepresentation
  • Medical reasons
  • Financial reasons

After that, you need to have the following documents and qualities to qualify for a Canadian visa:

You will need a valid travel document such as a passport to get the visitor visa.

You may also need a letter of invitation and medical documents, in a few cases, to get your visitor visa.

Background:

You need to have a clean profile, free from criminal activities and human rights violations, to qualify for the visitor visa.

You need to be in good health.

You need to convince the immigration officer that you have strong ties with your home country and that you will go back to your own country after your limited stay in Canada.

To convince the officer, these things help:

  • Proof that you have a job in your homeland you need to go back to
  • Proof that you have assets in your homeland you need to go back to
  • Proof that you have a family in your homeland you need to go back to

This is the most important factor in deciding whether or not you are given a Canadian visitor visa.

If you can prove that you will go back to your country after your stay in Canada, it is easier to get the visa.

Canada doesn’t want people who plan on settling there on a visitor visa.

You also need to have enough money to support your stay in Canada.

You don’t want to be asking for any help while in Canada such as social assistance.

This is all there is to get the Canadian visitor visa.

On this page

Safety and security, entry and exit requirements, laws and culture, natural disasters and climate, pakistan - exercise a high degree of caution.

Exercise a high degree of caution in Pakistan due to the unpredictable security situation. There is a threat of terrorism, civil unrest, sectarian violence and kidnapping.

Regional advisory - Avoid all travel

  • the area within 50 km of the border with Afghanistan
  • the areas within 10 km of the borders with China, India and Iran
  • the areas within 10 km of the Line of Control, except the official border crossings at:
  • Wagah and the Grand Trunk Road leading there
  • Khunjerab Pass and the Karakorum Highway leading there
  • the section of the Karakoram Highway from Mansehra to Chilas
  • Pakistan-administered Kashmir
  • the province of Balochistan
  • the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the exception of the following districts where we advise against non-essential travel:

Karachi - Avoid non-essential travel

Avoid non-essential travel to the city of Karachi, due to violence and the risk of terrorism.

The Government of Canada may not be in a position to provide consular assistance to Canadians in areas where:

  • there are serious security concerns
  • the Government of Pakistan prohibits entry
  • advance permission is required for entry

Security situation and elections

There have been ongoing political demonstrations since November 2022. Federal elections took place on February 8, 2024.

Security forces continue to be on high alert in the following cities:

The security situation is evolving and remains unpredictable.

  • Communication networks may be disrupted
  • Roadblocks could lead to significant disruptions to traffic and public transportation, including transit routes to airports

If you are in Pakistan:

  • avoid areas where demonstrations and large gatherings are taking place
  • always be aware of your surroundings when in public places
  • carry photo identification at all times
  • expect an increased presence of security forces
  • be prepared to change your travel plans on short notice
  • monitor local media to stay informed on the evolving situation
  • follow the instructions of local authorities, including curfew orders

Border area with India

The level of tension between Pakistan and India is susceptible to sudden changes. You could experience difficulties when travelling between the two countries and may be subject to scrutiny if officials from either country become aware that you have recently travelled to the other.

The security situation in the Kashmir region, especially along the Line of Control (LoC), which separates India-administered Kashmir in the south from Pakistan-administered Kashmir in the north, and along the working boundary that continues south toward Sialkot, remains volatile. Since September 2016, cross-border gunfire and shelling have been occurring sporadically along the LoC.

Although the Wagah border crossing linking Lahore, Pakistan, to Amritsar, India, is regularly used by international travellers, it remains vulnerable to attack. Security measures are in place. Visitors may experience long delays.

Border areas with Afghanistan, China and Iran

Border areas with Afghanistan, China and Iran often experience terrorist activity, smuggling and violence. With the exception of official border crossings, foreigners are prohibited from travelling within 50 kilometres of the border with Afghanistan.

Bandits in border areas with Afghanistan and Iran are usually involved in drug trafficking.

Sistan-Baluchistan in Iran, which borders Pakistan, is regularly affected by ethnic conflicts and is also a known route for smugglers. Foreign nationals have been the target of kidnappings.

Terrorist attacks may also occur in this province.

If you decide to travel overland to Iran and Afghanistan despite this warning:

  • travel only on main roads
  • travel in organized groups
  • avoid travel after dark

Balochistan

The security situation in the province of Balochistan remains unstable, due to a long-standing nationalist insurgency and government counter-insurgency operations. Insurgents and militants may target commercial spaces and foreigners, in particular those associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Attacks on police and security forces occur frequently. Balochistan, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, is also a known route for smugglers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province

The security situation in Central and Western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province, including its capital Peshawar is unstable due to terrorism, sectarian and political violence and high levels of crime. North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and the Khyber District are particularly volatile and continue to be impacted by the security situation in Afghanistan. Attacks on security and military forces occur frequently. Civil unrest also takes place regularly.

Certain sectors of Karachi experience high levels of violence. These include:

  • Orangi Town

Extremist groups are present in some parts of the city and there have been terrorist attacks in recent years on high-profile targets, including the Stock Exchange and Chinese Consulate. Carefully plan any travel to, or in the city. Strikes and protest marches tend to take place in central areas of Karachi. These events may cause travel disruptions throughout the city and lead to violent civil unrest. Other criminal activities and violence that can occur in Karachi include carjacking, armed robbery, kidnapping and murder.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Clashes between protesters and security forces have occurred. Past demonstrations have led to traffic and public transport disruptions. Do not travel by road to Gilgit-Baltistan province.

Many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province are unstable due to terrorism, violence, and crime rates, including Upper and Lower Chitral districts. Do not travel by road to this area.

Increased terrorist threat

On May 7, 2024, the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi issued the following security alert: "The U.S. Consulate General Karachi is aware of a threat of a terrorist attack at Karachi Port. In response to such situations, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates sometimes restrict access to certain areas for official U.S. government personnel. Karachi Port is temporarily restricted for official U.S. government personnel."

If you are in Karachi:

  • avoid the port and the surrounding area
  • monitor local media for the latest information

Security alert – United States Consulate General in Karachi

There is a high threat of terrorism in Pakistan. The security situation is fragile and unpredictable. Several terrorist groups are present and operate across the country. Incidents are typically attributed to extremism, ethnic divisions, sectarian strife, regional political disputes and the situation in neighbouring Afghanistan. Bombings, shootings and other terrorist attacks have been directed at a wide range of targets and have caused many deaths and injuries.

In the formerly Federal Administered Tribal Area (FATA) and in the province of Balochistan, attacks are frequent and are often directed at security and military forces.

Further attacks are likely. Attacks can take many forms, including:

  • targeted killings and kidnappings
  • armed assaults
  • suicide bombings
  • improvised explosive devices

Some attacks involve detailed planning to maximize casualties through multiple and consecutive explosions. Targets could include:

  • sects or minority groups
  • government and military assets and personnel
  • places of worship
  • airports and other transportation hubs and networks
  • public areas such as tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping centres, markets, hotels and other sites frequented by foreigners
  • elections-related events and polling stations
  • civil aviation facilities, including aircrafts

There is an increased risk of attack during religious holidays and days of national significance, such as:

  • National Day (March 23)
  • Independence Day (August 14)
  • the Islamic month of Muharram (particularly on the day of Ashura)
  • the Muslim holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha

Expect heightened security measures and associated disruptions during these periods.

In Islamabad, you should:

  • keep a low profile, particularly in areas regularly frequented by foreigners
  • avoid the Lal Masjid Mosque (also known as the Red Mosque)
  • be particularly cautious in or around western-style restaurants and shopping centres
  • only stay in hotels that have stringent security measures in place, including metal detectors and closed security perimeters

Military activity

Stay away from areas where military or militant activity is taking place.

The risk of kidnapping for ransom is high, especially in Balochistan, Punjab and Sindh. Pakistani citizens are particularly at risk. Express kidnapping also takes place.

  • Use varied and unpredictable routes and schedules when moving from one place to another
  • Maintain a high level of vigilance at all times

Petty crime

Petty crime, such as pickpocketing and purse snatching, occurs. Cell phones, credit cards and passports are favourite targets. Credit card fraud is common.

  • Ensure that your personal belongings, passports other travel documents are secure at all times
  • Avoid showing signs of affluence
  • If travelling by car, keep valuable belongings out of sight, windows closed and doors locked
  • Avoid travelling after dusk, particularly in rural areas where road conditions are unsafe
  • Make arrangements to be met at the airport, especially if arriving after dark
  • Verify flight and airport operation details before travelling
  • Remain aware of the security situation on routes to and from airports

Demonstrations and civil unrest

Demonstrations take place regularly. Demonstrations can take place without warning, and some may take on an anti-western tone. They have the potential to suddenly turn violent. Deaths, injuries and widespread violence have occurred at such events. Demonstrations can also lead to disruptions to traffic and public transportation.

  • Avoid areas where demonstrations and large gatherings are taking place
  • Follow the instructions of local authorities
  • Monitor local media for information on ongoing demonstrations

Mass gatherings (large-scale events)

Women's safety

Women travelling alone may be subject to some forms of harassment and verbal abuse. Gender-based violence is common in Pakistan. Honour killings and forced marriages are frequently reported.

If you are the victim of a sexual assault, you should report it immediately to the nearest Government of Canada office.

  • Avoid travelling alone, especially at night
  • Remain particularly vigilant in less-frequented areas
  • Be careful when dealing with strangers or recent acquaintances

Advice for women travellers

2SLGBTQI+ persons

2SLGBTQI+ persons could be discriminated against based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or sex characteristics. Human rights organizations have reported discrimination and violence being committed against 2SLGBTQI+ persons in Pakistan, including the denial of basic rights and services, sexual violence and murder. Many hotels and similar establishments may only allow “married couples” to stay together, and same-sex couples should be prepared to stay separately while travelling.

Forced marriages

Forced marriage affecting foreigners occurs. It sometimes occurs without the affected person's prior knowledge or consent.

Some Canadians have been forced into marital arrangements and have been detained against their will. They have been subjected to threats, intimidation and violence by family members.

If you're in Canada

If you're in Canada and you believe that you're being forced to travel overseas or to marry, you should call your local police for assistance.

If you're in Pakistan

If you're in Pakistan and you believe that you're being forced to marry, contact the High Commission of Canada to Pakistan in Islamabad. You may also contact the Emergency Watch and Response Centre .

Family members may retain passports to prevent victims from returning to Canada.

  • Keep digital or physical copies of your travel documents in a safe place
  • General information and advice about forced marriage

Business deals can involve extortion and corruption. All business disputes, including those involving criminality, are subject to Pakistani legal proceedings. The High Commission of Canada cannot intervene on a Canadian's behalf in a private legal matter.

Trekking and climbing

No trekking is allowed in the closed zones located near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and near the Line of Control between Pakistan- and India-administered Kashmir. Trekking permits are required by the Government of Pakistan for peaks over 6000m, and in most national parks. Access to roads are limited, and often in very poor condition.

Only experienced climbers should go to the northern mountains of the Himalayas, Hindukush or Karakoram. Because of their great height, the Karakoram Mountains experience heavy glaciation, particularly on the southern, more humid slopes.

If you intend on engaging in trekking activities:

  • never do so alone and always hire an experienced guide from a reputable company
  • buy travel insurance that includes helicopter rescue and medical evacuation from remote areas
  • confirm that the air ambulance firm contracted has a local agent in Pakistan who can ensure that local rescue teams provide the required emergency services
  • ensure that your physical condition is good enough to meet the challenges of your activity
  • ensure that you're properly equipped and well informed about weather and other conditions that may pose a hazard
  • inform a family member or friend of your itinerary, including when you expect to be back to camp
  • know the symptoms of acute altitude sickness, which can be fatal
  • obtain detailed information on trekking routes or ski slopes before setting out and don't venture off marked trails or slopes

In case of air evacuation, advance payment of the total evacuation cost is required from the insurance company before rescue teams will perform rescue operations. The Government of Canada is unable to intervene, provide, or pay for rescue services.

Road travel

Road conditions.

In many urban areas, roads may be narrow, crowded and poorly lit, with limited signage and poor maintenance. Outside major highways and main cities, roads are mostly unpaved and four-wheel drive vehicles may be necessary.

Mountain roads may have steep drops and lack safety barriers.

Weather conditions can change quickly, particularly during winter. Snow, ice, fog, rain can lead to dangerous driving conditions and disrupt travel. Landslides caused by heavy rain can block or wash away roads.

  • Check local news and weather reports along your route before you travel

Driving habits

Drivers can be aggressive and reckless, and they do not respect traffic laws. Accidents are common. If an accident occurs and you feel that your safety is threatened, leave the area and report the accident to the nearest police station.

Checkpoints may be set up without warning.

Karakoram highway/Northern region

Sections can be very narrow with precipitous drops and are sometimes partially obstructed by rock and earth slides.

  • Travel on mountain roads only during daylight hours
  • Consult local authorities regarding road openings, particularly during the monsoon rains and winter seasons
  • Avoid the section of the Karakoram Highway from Mansehra to Chilas

If you chose to drive in Pakistan:

  • avoid driving after dark
  • keep doors locked and windows up at all times
  • leave a travel itinerary with a third party
  • carry photo identification to present at police checkpoints
  • be well prepared and equipped with gasoline, water, food and a cell phone
  • call the police if involved in an accident

Public transportation

There are frequent rail accidents due to low safety and maintenance standards. Railways have been targets for riots and terrorist attacks.

Avoid using public transportation including taxis and trains. If you must use public transportation:

  • use bus lines that provide two drivers if you're travelling long distances
  • use radio-controlled taxis from reputable companies
  • consider using taxi hailing apps in major cities

This section contains information on possible health risks and restrictions regularly found or ongoing in the destination. Follow this advice to lower your risk of becoming ill while travelling. Not all risks are listed below.

Consult a health care professional or visit a travel health clinic preferably 6 weeks before you travel to get personalized health advice and recommendations.

Routine vaccines

Be sure that your  routine vaccinations , as per your province or territory , are up-to-date before travelling, regardless of your destination.

Some of these vaccinations include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, varicella (chickenpox), influenza and others.

Pre-travel vaccines and medications

You may be at risk for preventable diseases while travelling in this destination. Talk to a travel health professional about which medications or vaccines may be right for you, based on your destination and itinerary.

There is a risk of hepatitis A in this destination. It is a disease of the liver. People can get hepatitis A if they ingest contaminated food or water, eat foods prepared by an infectious person, or if they have close physical contact (such as oral-anal sex) with an infectious person, although casual contact among people does not spread the virus.

Practise  safe food and water precautions and wash your hands often. Vaccination is recommended for all travellers to areas where hepatitis A is present.

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease. It can spread quickly from person to person by direct contact and through droplets in the air.

Anyone who is not protected against measles is at risk of being infected with it when travelling internationally.

Regardless of where you are going, talk to a health care professional before travelling to make sure you are fully protected against measles.

Japanese encephalitis is a viral infection that can cause swelling of the brain.  It is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Risk is very low for most travellers. Travellers at relatively higher risk may want to consider vaccination for JE prior to travelling.

Travellers are at higher risk if they will be:

  • travelling long term (e.g. more than 30 days)
  • making multiple trips to endemic areas
  • staying for extended periods in rural areas
  • visiting an area suffering a JE outbreak
  • engaging in activities involving high contact with mosquitos (e.g., entomologists)

Hepatitis B is a risk in every destination. It is a viral liver disease that is easily transmitted from one person to another through exposure to blood and body fluids containing the hepatitis B virus.  Travellers who may be exposed to blood or other bodily fluids (e.g., through sexual contact, medical treatment, sharing needles, tattooing, acupuncture or occupational exposure) are at higher risk of getting hepatitis B.

Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for all travellers. Prevent hepatitis B infection by practicing safe sex, only using new and sterile drug equipment, and only getting tattoos and piercings in settings that follow public health regulations and standards.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious viral disease. It can spread from person to person by direct contact and through droplets in the air.

It is recommended that all eligible travellers complete a COVID-19 vaccine series along with any additional recommended doses in Canada before travelling. Evidence shows that vaccines are very effective at preventing severe illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19. While vaccination provides better protection against serious illness, you may still be at risk of infection from the virus that causes COVID-19. Anyone who has not completed a vaccine series is at increased risk of being infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 and is at greater risk for severe disease when travelling internationally.

Before travelling, verify your destination’s COVID-19 vaccination entry/exit requirements. Regardless of where you are going, talk to a health care professional before travelling to make sure you are adequately protected against COVID-19.

The best way to protect yourself from seasonal influenza (flu) is to get vaccinated every year. Get the flu shot at least 2 weeks before travelling.

 The flu occurs worldwide.

  •  In the Northern Hemisphere, the flu season usually runs from November to   April.
  •  In the Southern Hemisphere, the flu season usually runs between April and   October.
  •  In the tropics, there is flu activity year round.

The flu vaccine available in one hemisphere may only offer partial protection against the flu in the other hemisphere.

The flu virus spreads from person to person when they cough or sneeze or by touching objects and surfaces that have been contaminated with the virus. Clean your hands often and wear a mask if you have a fever or respiratory symptoms.

Typhoid is a bacterial infection spread by contaminated food or water. Travellers going to countries in South Asia should speak to a health care professional about getting vaccinated.

Malaria is a serious and sometimes fatal disease that is caused by parasites spread through the bites of mosquitoes.

Malaria is a risk to travellers to this destination.   Antimalarial medication is recommended for most travellers to this destination and should be taken as recommended. Consult a health care professional or visit a travel health clinic before travelling to discuss your options. It is recommended to do this 6 weeks before travel, however, it is still a good idea any time before leaving.    Protect yourself from mosquito bites at all times:

  • Cover your skin and use an approved insect repellent on uncovered skin.
  • Exclude mosquitoes from your living area with screening and/or closed, well-sealed doors and windows.
  • Use insecticide-treated bed nets if mosquitoes cannot be excluded from your living area.
  • Wear permethrin-treated clothing.

If you develop symptoms similar to malaria when you are travelling or up to a year after you return home, see a health care professional immediately. Tell them where you have been travelling or living.

Yellow fever   is a disease caused by a flavivirus from the bite of an infected mosquito.

Travellers get vaccinated either because it is required to enter a country or because it is recommended for their protection.

  • There is no risk of yellow fever in this country.

Country Entry Requirement*

  • Proof of vaccination is required if you are coming from or have transited through an airport of a country   where yellow fever occurs.

Recommendation

  • Vaccination is not recommended.
  • Discuss travel plans, activities, and destinations with a health care professional.
  • Contact a designated  Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre  well in advance of your trip to arrange for vaccination.

About Yellow Fever

Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres in Canada * It is important to note that  country entry requirements  may not reflect your risk of yellow fever at your destination. It is recommended that you contact the nearest  diplomatic or consular office  of the destination(s) you will be visiting to verify any additional entry requirements.

In this destination, rabies is commonly carried by dogs and some wildlife, including bats. Rabies is a deadly disease that spreads to humans primarily through bites or scratches from an infected animal. While travelling, take precautions , including keeping your distance from animals (including free-roaming dogs), and closely supervising children.

If you are bitten or scratched by a dog or other animal while travelling, immediately wash the wound with soap and clean water and see a health care professional. In this destination, rabies treatment may be limited or may not be available, therefore you may need to return to Canada for treatment.

Before travel, discuss rabies vaccination with a health care professional. It may be recommended for travellers who are at high risk of exposure (e.g., occupational risk such as veterinarians and wildlife workers, children, adventure travellers and spelunkers, and others in close contact with animals).

Polio (poliomyelitis) is an infectious disease that can be prevented by vaccination. It is caused by poliovirus type 1, 2 or 3. Wild poliovirus (WPV1) and/or circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV1 or cVDPV3)) is/are present in this destination.

This destination is subject to Temporary Recommendations under the World Health Organization’s polio Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) .

Polio is spread from person to person and through contaminated food and water. Infection with the polio virus can cause paralysis and death in individuals of any age who are not immune.

Recommendations:

  • Be sure that your polio vaccinations are up to date before travelling. Polio is part of the routine vaccine schedule for children in Canada.
  • One booster dose of the polio vaccine is recommended as an adult .
  • Make sure that the polio vaccinations are documented on the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis. This is the only document accepted as proof of vaccination. It is provided at Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres .
  • Carry the certificate as proof of vaccination.

Proof of vaccination:

  • Travellers who are visiting for longer than 4 weeks may be required to receive a dose of polio vaccine 1 to 12 months before they leave this destination. This may be required even if you have previously received all the recommended polio vaccine doses as part of the routine vaccine schedule in Canada.
  • Make sure that the polio vaccination is documented on the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis.

Safe food and water precautions

Many illnesses can be caused by eating food or drinking beverages contaminated by bacteria, parasites, toxins, or viruses, or by swimming or bathing in contaminated water.

  • Learn more about food and water precautions to take to avoid getting sick by visiting our eat and drink safely abroad page. Remember: Boil it, cook it, peel it, or leave it!
  • Avoid getting water into your eyes, mouth or nose when swimming or participating in activities in freshwater (streams, canals, lakes), particularly after flooding or heavy rain. Water may look clean but could still be polluted or contaminated.
  • Avoid inhaling or swallowing water while bathing, showering, or swimming in pools or hot tubs.

Cholera is a risk in parts of this country. Most travellers are at very low risk.

To protect against cholera, all travellers should practise safe food and water precautions .

Travellers at higher risk of getting cholera include those:

  • visiting, working or living in areas with limited access to safe food, water and proper sanitation
  • visiting areas where outbreaks are occurring

Vaccination may be recommended for high-risk travellers, and should be discussed with a health care professional.

Travellers' diarrhea is the most common illness affecting travellers. It is spread from eating or drinking contaminated food or water.

Risk of developing travellers' diarrhea increases when travelling in regions with poor standards of hygiene and sanitation. Practise safe food and water precautions.

The most important treatment for travellers' diarrhea is rehydration (drinking lots of fluids). Carry oral rehydration salts when travelling.

Typhoid   is a bacterial infection spread by contaminated food or water. Risk is higher among children, travellers going to rural areas, travellers visiting friends and relatives or those travelling for a long period of time.

Travellers visiting regions with a risk of typhoid, especially those exposed to places with poor sanitation, should speak to a health care professional about vaccination.

Insect bite prevention

Many diseases are spread by the bites of infected insects such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas or flies. When travelling to areas where infected insects may be present:

  • Use insect repellent (bug spray) on exposed skin
  • Cover up with light-coloured, loose clothes made of tightly woven materials such as nylon or polyester
  • Minimize exposure to insects
  • Use mosquito netting when sleeping outdoors or in buildings that are not fully enclosed

To learn more about how you can reduce your risk of infection and disease caused by bites, both at home and abroad, visit our insect bite prevention page.

Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever is a viral disease that can cause fever, pain and bleeding under the skin.  In some cases, it can be fatal.  It spreads to humans through contact with infected animal blood or tissues, or from the bite of an infected tick.  Risk is generally low for most travellers. Celebrations which include the slaughtering of animals and contact with their blood and/ or tissues may increase the risk of exposure to the virus.

Protect yourself from tick bites and wear gloves or other protective clothing if you are in contact with the blood and tissues of  animals, particularly livestock. There is no vaccine available for Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever.

Cutaneous and mucosal   leishmaniasis   causes skin sores and ulcers. It is caused by a parasite spread through the bite of a female sandfly.

Risk is generally low for most travellers. Protect yourself from sandfly bites, which typically occur after sunset in rural and forested areas and in some urban centres. There is no vaccine or medication to protect against leishmaniasis.

  • In this country,   dengue  is a risk to travellers. It is a viral disease spread to humans by mosquito bites.
  • Dengue can cause flu-like symptoms. In some cases, it can lead to severe dengue, which can be fatal.
  • The level of risk of dengue changes seasonally, and varies from year to year. The level of risk also varies between regions in a country and can depend on the elevation in the region.
  • Mosquitoes carrying dengue typically bite during the daytime, particularly around sunrise and sunset.
  • Protect yourself from mosquito bites . There is no vaccine or medication that protects against dengue.

Animal precautions

Some infections, such as rabies and influenza, can be shared between humans and animals. Certain types of activities may increase your chance of contact with animals, such as travelling in rural or forested areas, camping, hiking, and visiting wet markets (places where live animals are slaughtered and sold) or caves.

Travellers are cautioned to avoid contact with animals, including dogs, livestock (pigs, cows), monkeys, snakes, rodents, birds, and bats, and to avoid eating undercooked wild game.

Closely supervise children, as they are more likely to come in contact with animals.

Human cases of avian influenza have been reported in this destination. Avian influenza   is a viral infection that can spread quickly and easily among birds and in rare cases it can infect mammals, including people. The risk is low for most travellers.

Avoid contact with birds, including wild, farm, and backyard birds (alive or dead) and surfaces that may have bird droppings on them. Ensure all poultry dishes, including eggs and wild game, are properly cooked.

Travellers with a higher risk of exposure include those:

  • visiting live bird/animal markets or poultry farms
  • working with poultry (such as chickens, turkeys, domestic ducks)
  • hunting, de-feathering, field dressing and butchering wild birds and wild mammals
  • working with wild birds for activities such as research, conservation, or rehabilitation
  • working with wild mammals, especially those that eat wild birds (e.g., foxes)

All eligible people are encouraged to get the seasonal influenza shot, which will protect them against human influenza viruses. While the seasonal influenza shot does not prevent infection with avian influenza, it can reduce the chance of getting sick with human and avian influenza viruses at the same time.

Person-to-person infections

Stay home if you’re sick and practise proper cough and sneeze etiquette , which includes coughing or sneezing into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand. Reduce your risk of colds, the flu and other illnesses by:

  •   washing your hands often
  • avoiding or limiting the amount of time spent in closed spaces, crowded places, or at large-scale events (concerts, sporting events, rallies)
  • avoiding close physical contact with people who may be showing symptoms of illness

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) , HIV , and mpox are spread through blood and bodily fluids; use condoms, practise safe sex, and limit your number of sexual partners. Check with your local public health authority pre-travel to determine your eligibility for mpox vaccine.

Tuberculosis is an infection caused by bacteria and usually affects the lungs.

For most travellers the risk of tuberculosis is low.

Travellers who may be at high risk while travelling in regions with risk of tuberculosis should discuss pre- and post-travel options with a health care professional.

High-risk travellers include those visiting or working in prisons, refugee camps, homeless shelters, or hospitals, or travellers visiting friends and relatives.

Medical services and facilities

Quality of care varies greatly throughout the country. Good health care is available in a small number of hospitals and clinics in some major cities, including in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Basic non-emergency medical care is available in major cities but is limited in rural areas. Emergency services, including ambulances, are virtually non-existent in most of Pakistan. Most medical facilities require prepayment in cash.

Medical evacuation can be very expensive and you may need it in case of serious illness or injury.

Make sure you get travel insurance that includes coverage for medical evacuation and hospital stays.

  • dust storms
  • earthquakes

Extreme temperatures can occur in both summer and winter.

Seismic activity

Severe earthquakes can occur in the western and northern regions of the country. Landslides are possible in affected areas, and strong aftershocks may occur after the initial quake. Transportation, health and telecommunications services may be affected, and land travel could be disrupted.

  • Monitor local news reports
  • Consult advisories from the provincial disaster management authorities

Monsoon and cyclones

The rainy (or monsoon) season extends from June to September. Seasonal flooding can hamper overland travel and reduce the provision of essential services. It can also lead to landslides. Roads may become impassable and bridges damaged.

Flash flooding can occur, including in densely populated areas. There is a risk of flooding along rivers, including the Indus River.

Pakistan's coastline is subject to tropical cyclones, which are usually accompanied by high winds and heavy rain. During any storm, flash floods and mudslides as well as damage to transportation routes and infrastructure may occur.

How to Apply for Canada Visa from Pakistan? Complete Guide

If you are going to apply for a Canada visa from Pakistan and you need information about what are the requirements for a Canada visa for Pakistani passport holders then you are at the right place. I will guide you step by step on how to apply for Canada visit visa from Pakistan. This is a guide about temporary resident visas for Canada that includes visitor’s visas, business visas, and also student visas.

Canada Visa Requirements for Pakistani Passport:

canada visit visa validity for pakistani

The process starts with the Canada immigration website where you have to add your documents, fill out the form and upload it, and then submit your application by paying the required visa fee which is 185 Canadian dollars for a single visa application and the biometric fee is also included in this.

Visit the Official Website for applying for a Canada visa online. You need to create an account on the official website of the Canadian government. Start your visa application there, submit all the documents online and fill out the required visa and security forms. You can download all the required forms from the above website.

The next step is to go for Biometrics at Gerry’s office. You already have paid the biometric fee online and you will just need to take the printout of your Canada visa application. However, you need to separately book an appointment for biometrics at Gerry’s. After you successfully submit your application online, simply go to the below link and book an appointment.

Gerry’s Website for Appointment in Pakistan

I recommend applying for Canada visit visa by following the above-mentioned process that’s completely online. However, you can still apply for a Canada visa through a paper application at Gerry’s office. In order to do that, you will have to go to above mentioned Gerry’s website and book an appointment for the visa instead of biometrics only. That’s the simple process to start your paper application.

If you are a Pakistani citizen living in other countries such as UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, UK , the US , or any other part of the world then you can apply for a Canada visa from there. Usually, you should be a resident of that country with some type of residency status in order to apply for a Canadian visa from other countries. The process is almost the same online and you will have to book an appointment at Gerry’s office for biometrics in your current country.

The process I explained above is for visit visas when you want to visit Canada for visiting and tourism purposes. If you are planning a business trip to Canada then you can use the same visa for a business trip too. The main point here is that you have to stay for six months in Canada and this visa is called a “ Temporary resident visa” in Canadian terms. You don’t need to apply for a business visa separately because Canada issues long-term visit visas.

You can apply for a student visa in Pakistan with almost the same procedure. There are two options to apply for a Canadian student visa in Pakistan. You can apply online and upload all of your documents. You can also apply on paper by visiting a visa application center. For a student visa, you must be accepted into a study course in Canada. With your acceptance letter, you can apply for a Canadian student visa and you should follow the process given on this official Canadian government website: Click to apply for a student visa.

canada visit visa validity for pakistani

The official visa fee for Canada’s visit visa is 185 CAD that’s equal to Rs.40,000 (current rate as of June 2023). The biometric fee for a Canada visa is 85 CAD and the Visa Fee is 100 CAD. Visa fees and biometric fees may change from time to time. Therefore, It’s advised to visit Gerry’s website or Canada’s immigration website for the latest information.

There is no definite answer for the processing time for a Canada visa. However, in normal circumstances, it will take 1 to 2 months for the process to complete. In some cases, it may take more than three months. You can always track your Canada visa application by going to the Government of Canada website. You can also find out the latest workload for Canada temporary resident visas by going to this link .

Keep in mind the official holidays of Canada such as Canada Day , Christmas, New Year, and other holidays that can delay your application a little bit more.

The validity of a Canadian visitor visa is issued according to the remaining validity of your passport. If your passport has four years of validity then Canada will issue four years visa. If your passport has eight years of validity then Canada will issue eight years visa. That’s how it works, therefore it’s suggested to have longer passport validity before applying for a Canadian visa from Pakistan.

One thing to note is that you can stay in Canada for six months per visit. You will have to exist for six months if you want to visit Canada again. When you arrive in Canada then be ready to answer questions asked by the immigration officers related to your stay in Canada. Having a visa is not a guarantee to enter Canada.

The address of the Canadian high commission in Pakistan is listed below but I don’t think they process visit visas. They only work with permanent residents and other issues. Visit visas are processed from an overseas office and handled by the Gerrys.

Address: Sector G 5، Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory 44050 Pakistan.

As I always advise, do not lie in your application. If you have a valid US visa on your passport then your chances for a Canada visit visa are good but it’s not guaranteed. Try to visit the US, the Schengen area, and the UK first before applying for a Canada visit visa. If you have a good business with handsome cash flow or a high-paying job then your chances are good.

I wouldn’t recommend a single man to apply for a Canada visit visa. You need to show home ties and family comes first in-home ties. If you are married and have kids then your chances for a Canada visit visa are high but still, you should have strong travel history too as you are going for a visit.

if possible, arrange an invitation letter or sponsor letter from some well-known conference or exhibition organization in your field and that usually helps in obtaining a Canada visa. Many people have used this way to get a Canada visa in the past. Again, do not give fake documents, and do not lie in applications that are not going to help.

Note : If you need visa consultancy about a Canada visa or any other visa then I offer a paid consultancy by WhatsApp or Zoom call in which you will be able to talk to me for 30 minutes and explain your situation. You can book an appointment for visa consultancy by contacting us via email ([email protected]) or by messaging us on WhatsApp: +923112127101 .

I tried to provide information according to the best of my ability and knowledge. Now it’s your turn to use this information and apply for a Canada visa yourself. I think you don’t need to hire an agent in order to apply for a Canada visit visa. I did it myself many times.

People usually apply for permanent residence in Canada instead of a visit visa and Canada also wants permanent residents in their country. If you are eligible then you can check out your options at the official website of the Canadian government here.

The ratio of Canadian visit visa approval in Pakistan is very low due to the fact that most people claim asylum in Canada on a visit visa. But I would still recommend applying for this visa if you think you are eligible and you want to explore this beautiful country.

Canada is not a visa-free country for Pakistani citizens . If you want to find out which country is visa-free for Pakistani passport holders then you can check out my guide on this blog. I will keep updating this article with latest up to date information.

Hi, I will be visiting my significant other(we have not married yet). She is South Korean national currently living in Canada on an IEC work permit. She have done same experiences in Australia and Japan respectively. We met at an online american accredited university (Penn State World Campus) about an year ago. As for the concern of the document, I have submitted a letter of invitation from her that assure that I will be returning to Pakistan after a 14 day scheduled visit. For finance, I have attached an affidavit from my father stating that he have good earnings and he will be giving me 2100 cad grant and a return flight ticket to support my visit as I am only dependent child on my parents and I am currently a student. I applied for Canada study visa last year on the grounds of getting admission at University of Toronto (B.Sc Computer Science). However, my visa was rejected. The reason that CIC cited for my rejection was lack of financial status (I managed to show only 40k cad worth bank statements). I was just curious that they have not reached me whilst of sending biometric validity letter because I have heard from multiple people here that it only take 1-2 days for decision to be updated at the portal after biometric validity letter. Regards,

Mkc81 said: Hi Maria, I apologize for the late reply. So, it's been 22 days since I got the bio-metric validity letter and no update yet. My application passed the normal processing time for Pakistan, i.e. 40 days at the time of application submission, but except bio-metric validity letter I got no such update. I contacted the CIC Abu dhabi for case specific inquiry on 5th August, 2019, they replied me on 6th August, 2019 that my application is finalized and I will receive the application decision through online portal soon. I wonder what will happen. But also if they really reject me as you mentioned about getting biometric validity within 3 weeks is likely refusal, then they wouldn't have taken so long time and also would not have replied me with the status as ongoing and pending final decision when I sent them a case specific inquiry. What is the Canada Visitor Visa for Pakistani Citizens?

The Visitor Visa, also known as the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), is a Canadian visa for temporary residence in the country. This official document is added to your passport and permits you to stay up to 180 days per entry in the country.

You can visit Canada for tourism, holidays, or vacation with a Canadian visit visa. It’s also a great option to enter Canada if you are meeting family or friends that are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

The Government of Canada allows the use of this document as a transit visa . Also, suppose you're visiting Canada for business activities , you can also use this temporary resident visa.

How can I apply for a Canada Visa?

To obtain the visa you'll need to attend an appointment to gather your biometric details. You can count on our services to guide you through the application process or apply directly with the Government of Canada .

We will send you a detailed manual guide with the application steps, review all documents and we will give the instructions to book an appointment at your local application center.

Be aware that this visa is not a study permit, work permit, or work visa . Most applicants must contact the embassy for this kind of long-term document.

Pakistan citizens can obtain a Canada multiple entry visa

This is very important if you have family members or other relatives who are permanent residents in the country.
  • Proof of funds for your stay . The amount of money you will need depends on how long you will stay and if you will stay in a hotel, or with friends or relatives.

Factors that could make the applicant ineligible for a Canada Visitor Visa :

Visa fees waived for 126 countries under new policy to boost tourism and investment

Visa fees waived for 126 countries under new policy to boost tourism and investment

Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Culture, and National Heritage Attaullah Tarar announced on Tuesday the launch of a new visa policy designed to enhance tourism and attract foreign investment. Under this policy, visa fees for nationals of 126 countries will be waived.

At a press conference, Tarar revealed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will unveil the new visa policy tonight. This initiative aims to simplify the visa process, allowing residents from these 126 countries to visit Pakistan more easily.

The new policy, effective from tonight, will enable these travelers to receive their visas within 10 minutes of submitting an online application with just 30 questions. The visas will be valid for three months and can be renewed quickly.

Additionally, residents from Gulf countries will receive visas on arrival, and the policy will facilitate pilgrims to boost religious tourism in Pakistan.

Tarar highlighted that the new policy is part of a broader effort to showcase Pakistan’s natural beauty and infrastructure, which has left foreign tourists with lasting positive impressions. He encouraged travelers, businessmen, and investors to explore Pakistan's diverse landscapes, including green valleys, deserts, oceans, and other scenic spots.

Heavy taxation to undermine economic security, stifle growth, warn experts

In response to queries, Tarar mentioned that dedicated desks for tourists will be established at airports, and all stakeholders are involved to ensure the safety and security of visitors. He also noted that Gilgit-Baltistan has seen a significant influx of foreign tourists, surpassing domestic visitors.

The government is actively encouraging investment in Pakistan’s tourism sector from countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, aiming to lower lodging costs and improve tourist facilities.

At the start of the press conference, Tarar celebrated Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal victory in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, highlighting the national pride and festive atmosphere surrounding his achievement. Nadeem will receive a state-level welcome upon his arrival at Islamabad's Nur Khan Airbase and will be honored with a banquet at the Prime Minister’s House. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Nadeem will also participate in the flag-hoisting ceremony on August 14.

nCERT debunks rumors of ATM, online banking shutdown in Pakistan

Tarar commended Nadeem’s journey as an inspiration for the youth and suggested creating a biopic to chronicle his remarkable story. He expressed hope that Nadeem’s success would motivate young athletes, especially in track and field sports.

The minister also announced a first-ever drone show in Islamabad's F-9 park, featuring aerial displays of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Pakistani flag, as part of the August 14 celebrations. He assured that the event would be apolitical and free from any ministerial images.

Finally, Tarar addressed criticisms from social media and reaffirmed the excellence of the Pakistan Army, emphasizing its merit and accountability systems. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister will soon introduce a home-grown economic reform agenda to drive sustainable development.
